War in Ukraine today: latest news, October 26, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 245th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm: 

The enemy is attempting to hold the ground on the temporarily occupied territory, focusing its efforts on restraining the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in some directions and launching the offensive towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka. 

The Armed Forces repelled the occupiers’ attacks towards Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Ivanhrad, Andriivka, Soledar, Kurdiumivka, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Nevelske, Mariinka and Kamianka, Donetsk oblast. 

The enemy is firing at Ukrainian soldiers’ positions along the entire contact line, builds defensive constructions and conducts aerial reconnaissance. By violating the norms of the international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war, the enemy is hitting the critical infrastructure and civilian homes. 

The occupiers launched one air strike and 11 multi rocket launcher attacks. 

The situation did not significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia. The republic of belarus is supporting the russian armed aggression against Ukraine.  The territory of Ukraine is exposed to the threat of missile strikes and attacks with UAVs from belarus. 

The enemy is shelling towards: 

Sloboda with mortars, barrels and rockets in the area of settlements of Bochkove, Vilkhuvatka, Budarky, Chuhunivka, Shevchenkove, Strilecha and Dvorichna;

Kupiansk with mortars, barrels and rockets in the area of Berestove, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Pischane, Pershotravneve, Fyholivka and Krokhmalne; 

Lyman with mortats, barrels and rockets in the area of settlements of Vyshneve, Hrekivka, Hryhorivka, Nevske, Serhiivka and Zarichne; 

Bakhmut with tanks, mortars, rockets and barrels in the area of settlements of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Soledar, Ivanhrad, Toretsk, Kurdiumivka, Maiorsk and Ozarianivka; 

Avdiivka in the area of settlements of Mariinka, Vodiane, Novomykhailivka, Pervomaiske, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske and Novokalynove.

Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy hit with artillery the settlements of Orikhiv, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Hulaipole, Zaliznychne, Novopil, Neskuchne and Poltavka. 

Towards the South Buh, settlements located close to the front line were hit by the enemy. Nikopol was struck with rockets. 

The enemy continues to erect defensive constructions on the left bank of the Dnipro river. 

Russian occupiers curtail freedom of civilians’ movement on the temporarily occupied territories. Locals in Pershotravneve, Kharkiv oblast, were banned from leaving the village. 

Russia is making every effort to replace its combat losses. The representatives of private military companies are recruiting prisoners in the colonies of Bryansk and Bryansk region to send them to the war.   

Based on the specified information, the losses and damage caused to the occupiers are estimated to be 60 soldiers in the settlements of Korzhove and Mykolaivka, Luhansk oblast, 10 military officers among them.  

The aviation of Ukraine hit the buildup of manpower, weapons and equipment of the enemy. 

The rocket troops and artillery of Ukraine hit 3 command points, 6 locations of buildup of manpower, equipment and weapons, 2 ammunition depots and 5 other key enemy targets. 

According to the head of President Office Andrii Yermak, there was a prisoner of war exchange. One Ukrainian officer, 9 soldiers and sergeants returned home. The body of the American volunteer, veteran of the US army, Joshua Alan Johns was also returned. 

According to the Ministry of Re-integration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, about a thousand bodies of soldiers and civilians, 450 among them found in a mass grave in Izium, including kids, were exhumed. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, at least three villages and three settlements, Dvorichna, Shevchenkove, Strilecha, were shelled by russians. At least 14 settlements were under enemy fire. The invaders forbade residents of Pershotravneve to leave the settlement.

Kharkiv Regional Police Chief, Volodymyr Tymoshko, said that a mass grave of Ukrainian soldiers was found in the region. The grave may contain about 17 bodies of fallen servicemen. They were killed in April during the retreat. According to residents, the invaders collected the bodies in two trucks. At the cemetery, they threw them into a pit as firewood. They did not make any signs of burial. The villagers themselves put crosses on Easter and took care of the grave as best as they could.

The enemy continued to shell the settlements near the contact line and the border with russia in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts.

Berestove, Budarky, Dvorichna, Preshotravneve, Shevchenkove, Strilecha, Vilkhuvatka and other settlements were shelled with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery.

According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care, no civilians were injured as a result of hostile shelling. At the same time, a 71-year-old woman, who was herding goats, ran over a mine in Kharkiv district near Kozacha Lopan. She was hospitalized with injuries.

Today in Izium district, a vehicle of the State Emergency Service ran over an enemy mine, previously an anti-tank one. Unfortunately, one person was killed, 5 injured. All the wounded were hospitalized and are receiving all necessary medical care. The condition of three injured is rated as serious, 2 victims have moderate injuries.

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service continue to demine the territories. 291 explosive ordnance were defused. However, so far only critical infrastructure facilities and main roads are being cleared of mines.

Ukrposhta JSC restored its work in de-occupied Kupiansk. Pensions accumulated over 4 months have already been paid to the residents. In addition, communication is being restored in the city. 4G from Kyivstar, Lifecell and Vodafone operators started working in test mode.

Bus routes are being restored in the de-occupied territory of Kharkiv oblast. Today, transporters are again operating routes to the settlements of 7 liberated communities.

Donetsk oblast

The enemy troops continued assault actions in Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions. The invaders are firing at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from all types of weapons, but the Ukrainian troops are holding back their offensive and striking back.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians killed 1 civilian in Bakhmut. In addition, law enforcers found the bodies of 4 civilians killed during occupation in Drobysheve. Also 4 people were injured yesterday.

Donetsk Regional Police Spokeswoman, Oleksandra Havrylko, reported that around 3:10 a.m. russians launched a missile attack on Druzhkivka. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties, but there are destructions. The college building was destroyed and apartment buildings damaged.

Overnight, frontline communities in the center and north of the region were shelled.

In Donetsk direction, russians attacked  Katerynivka, Krasnohorivka and Marinka of Marinka community and Pervomaiske of Ocheretyne community. There was no information about casualties and destruction.

In Horlivka direction, Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar communities were targeted. In Bakhmut, one person was killed, the building of the technical school burned down and private buildings were damaged. On the other hand, artillery shelling on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar community caused no casualties or destruction.

Kyivstar mobile operator restored communication in Kurakhivka and Hostre settlements. Special tariffs are available for liberated settlements: free calls within the network, packages of megabytes and minutes to other networks.

Gas supply was restored to 120 homes in Novodmytrivka, Kostiantynivka community.

Luhansk oblast

The units of the Defence Forces repelled enemy attacks in Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Ivanhrad, Krasnohorivka, Kurdiumivka, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Soledar and Ternova settlemnts.

Ukrainian artillerymen also worked successfully. Thus, an ammunition depot and more than 10 kadyrovites were destroyed in Novoivanivka. In Svatove – up to 10 invaders and about five trucks with ammunition.

In total, the aviation of the Defense Forces launched 21 strikes. 17 concentration areas of weapons and military equipment, 2 strongholds, 2 positions of anti-aircraft missile systems were hit. Air defense units shot down 5 enemy UAVs.

Rocket and artillery forces hit a control post, two buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, a radar station and other important military targets of the invaders.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that yesterday russian troops shelled the liberated Bilohorivka, two people were killed. Nevske, Novoiehorivka  and Stelmakhivka also were under enemy fire.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The President of Guinea-Bissau, Oumaru Sissoko Embalo, visited Kyiv. This is the first leader of an African country to visit Kyiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Kyiv RMA reported that an air raid warning sounded 13 times in Kyiv oblast in the past week. In total, it is almost 30 hours. Ukrainians had to stay in shelters for more than a day.

754 heating points were installed in each community of the oblast. As reported in Kyiv Regional Military Administration, they will work when the air temperature drops, as well as during possible power and heating outages. Heating points are equipped with backup power devices and are additionally equipped with stoves, electric heaters, and heat guns.

In Vorzel, a high-rise building hit by a shell during occupation is being restored. It has a completely destroyed roof and damaged apartments in 6 sections of the building. Funds for repair work are allocated from the local budget.

The archives of Kyiv oblast, located in the territories liberated from the occupiers, were provided with scanning equipment within the framework of implementation of the Agreement on providing financial assistance between the State Archive of the Kyiv oblast and the ALIPH Foundation. Thanks to transferred scanners, during 2022-2025, digital copies of almost 20K cases stored in the archives are planned to be created

The photo exhibition “Heroes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” was opened in the Kyiv metro at the “Golden Gate” station, which will last for 4 weeks. It showcases dozens of photos of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees who showed courage during the russian invasion and are bringing the Victory of Ukraine closer every day.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported that Kyiv received a powerful fire truck with foam extinguishing capability and two modern resuscitation vehicles from German and Ukrainian partners. Charitable foundations also donated equipment for rescuers.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr, they are trying to restore the operation of electric transport. The city council reported that a number of trolleybuses and streetcars went on the routes during off-peak hours. In the long-run, everything will depend on the load on the power grid. Also, in the city, street lighting began to be turned on in the evening and morning, which is related to the safety of movement.

The head of RMA Vitaliy Bunechko said that the unemployed who have not found a job within 30 days will be involved in socially useful works in Zhytomyr oblast. Officially registered unemployed people will be involved in setting up checkpoints, collecting firewood, clearing debris, restoring damaged buildings, unloading humanitarian aid and repairing shelters.

Another humanitarian aid from UNICEF was provided to the communities of Zhytomyr oblast. 10 territorial communities of the oblast received hygiene kits. In Zhytomyr, as part of a cross-sectoral UNICEF project, a psychological assistance office was opened.

In Zhytomyr, a family of volunteers cooks “UKROP Borscht” for the Ukrainian military. Zhytomyr residents join the cooking initiative. In 10 days, 64 bags with dry contents of 320 liters of borscht were sent to the front.

Sumy oblast

The head of Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi announced that the enemy shelled the Znob-Novgorodske community for the second time in a day. 12 artillery hits were recorded, civilian infrastructure was damaged.

The russian army attacked communities of Sumy oblast 12 times, firing 106 shells at 7 border territories. The enemy used drones with explosives, 120-caliber mortars and self-propelled artillery.

The combat readiness of military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, security forces, defense and intelligence was checked in Sumy oblast. The commander of the “Sumy” operational-tactical group Oleksandr Nesterenko announced that there were no signs of creating striking groups in the russian federation. He added that the situation is currently stable and under control.

The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko noted that Sumy oblast was one of the first in Ukraine to establish an effective organization of community service under martial law. Citizens registered as unemployed clear rubble, carry out repair work, collect firewood for the winter, etc. and receive a salary. 400 citizens from 23 communities have already been involved in this work.

Sumy ophthalmologists Iryna Zhukova and Maksym Perekrestov on the basis of the Med-Soyuz medical center will perform cosmetic operations on patients who have suffered facial lacerations and burn injuries. This became possible thanks to the “Zagrava” charitable platform, which coordinates among themselves people who have received similar injuries and doctors who want and can help them.

In the city of Shostka, a trial will be held for the first time on charges of high treason. Using the Internet, a resident of the city established contact with representatives of the enemy army and gave them information about the movement of Ukrainian troops and location of administrative buildings.

Dmytro Zhivytskyi, the head of Sumy RMA, said that educational institutions in Sumy oblast received 1 774 new laptops. He added that in wartime, a teacher’s main tool is a laptop, and he thanked all education workers for their dedication. The initiative was carried out with the assistance of the “Google” company.

Yampil hospital received help from Poland. The institution received an ECG device and a mobile ventilator. The International Solidarity Fund in partnership with BGK and the European Commission provided modern medical equipment to the residents of Yampiel.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv RMA reported that 165 million hryvnias have already been spent on reconstruction of the infrastructure facilities of Chernihiv oblast damaged by the war. A total of 250 million was allocated from the reserve fund for restoring communities in the oblast. They must be used by the end of the year. So far, 3 high-rise buildings, an administrative building, 9 life support facilities, 9 educational and 10 medical facilities have been restored.

The “North” command warned residents of the city and district about shootings with automatic weapons planned for the evening of October 26 at the training ground on the outskirts of Chernihiv.

The SSU reported that Andrii Babich, a deputy of the Chernihiv District Council, was detained in Volyn. The official is accused of organizing the illegal deportation of citizens outside the country. The deputy offered conscripts fake birth certificates for money in order to escape abroad under the guise of parents with many children in exchange of $3K remuneration.

Korop settlement council reported that residents held a charity fair in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event took place at the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity. Children and their parents prepared various goodies and brought home-made decorations. Kids managed to collect 8 187 hryvnias for local defenders.

The UN will provide the residents of Chernihiv and internally displaced persons due to the war with monetary assistance in the amount of 2 200 hryvnias per month for six months. Applications for assistance from citizens are accepted by the “Right to protection in Chernihiv” charity fund.

The Road Service in Chernihiv oblast reported that traffic will be opened on the restored bridge in the village of Ivanivka at the entrance to Chernihiv in November. The bridge was destroyed at the beginning of March, when the occupiers tried to break through to Chernihiv from the Yagidne village. Currently, work is being carried out on installation of an asphalt concrete surface, at the same time approaches to the bridge are being repaired. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, a pregnant woman and a gas station worker were killed, four people injured as a result of yesterday’s missile attack on Dnipro. Columns, car washes, tire fitting, and two cars were destroyed at the gas station. 

An enemy’s “Shahed” kamikaze drone was shot down in Nikopol district yesterday night. People were not injured. In addition, the enemy attacked from Grad MLRS Chervonohryhoriv community at night. The power lines were hit. There are no casualties.

A “social restaurant” has opened in Dnipro, where internally displaced persons who have left the occupied regions or regions where hostilities are ongoing, can have a meal. One and a half thousand people can have lunch there every day. Benefactors collected about 12 million hryvnias for the initiative.

Vinnytsia oblast

The project “Together. Social services for families in the community” was launched in Vinnytsia. In response to the war challenges, it was established to develop and strengthen the support system for vulnerable families. Recently, the first training “Together we are strong” was held for parents of children with disabilities. 

78-year-old Maria Udalova knitted half a thousand pairs of socks for defenders over five years. The last batch, which is 60 pairs, was sent to the volunteers of the “Shakhina” center. 

Kirovohrad oblast

123 861 hryvnias were collected during the “Defender sees – Muscovite jumps” marathon held in the Oleksandriia community by the Coordination Center of Volunteers. The funds are used to purchase three thermal imagers.

Two representatives of Alexandria, the charitable foundation “Help Center of Alexandria” and the City Centralized Library System, were selected to take part  in the “Volunteer+” project. During the next six months, the teams will implement projects to develop volunteering among young people. 

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, international humanitarian organizations and global industrial giants continue to support Poltava oblast. Today, the regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine and the company “Samsung” handed over 6 expensive freezers to the regional blood transfusion station, its units in Kremenchuk and Lubny, as well as the psychiatric hospital and the city maternity hospital of Poltava. In addition, the partners handed over 25 washing machines and 51 microwave ovens for places of residence of internally displaced persons, boarding schools, boarding houses, homes for the elderly.

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Poltava oblast received a vehicle for transporting vaccines. It is equipped with special refrigerating equipment to maintain a temperature regime of +2…+8 C° to enable delivery of the necessary vaccine supply to any health care institution within the oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Internally displaced persons received 270 hygiene kits from the charitable foundation “Help your neighbor. Cherkasy”. Each family member received kits with towels, washing powder, soap, toothpaste.

Oleksiy Titchenko, the chief engineer of one of the region’s medical institutions, informed that Cherkasy medical facilities are ready for emergency power outages. The generators can provide the hospital with power for 8 hours.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to RMA, the situation in the region did not significantly change. The occupiers focus their efforts on holding the occupied territories. They fired at Ukrainian defenders’ positions with tanks, rockets and barrels along the entire contact line. 

According to the regional police department, the invaders shelled the civilian infrastructure in the area of settlements pf Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Poltavka, Dorozhnianka, Preobrazhenka, Stepove, Mali Scherbaky, Orikhiv, Huliapole, Novodanylivka, Olhivske, Bilohiriia, Mala Tokmachka. 

21 notifications on destruction of civilian homes and apartments, infrastructure facilities following the russian shelling were received.  

94 civilians, 13 kids among them, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories. 

According to the regional center for control and prevention of diseases of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine, the radiation level on the territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast has not changed and there are no threats to life and health of civilians. 

The invaders launched two air strikes, 48 artillery hits and 14 multi rocket launcher attacks, including using incendiary weapons. Dozens of houses were damaged and destroyed, infrastructure facilities and private vehicles were affected. Orikhiv suffered the most from enemy shelling. Two thirds of the city has been destroyed.

A massive fire broke out in downtown Orikhiv as a result of the enemy shelling of the high rise building. 6 apartments burned out. Adjacent structures were also affected. 

Huliapole was also shelled. The nearby villages were also affected which caused complete or partial destruction of civilian home, garages and vehicles. Two civilians were killed and two wounded. The information on the toll of affected civilians is being clarified. 

According to RMA, Enerhodar is being terrorized by russian invaders. Locals are under the constant pressure. Looting of russian invaders continues. Invaders are proactively spreading the fake information on “dirty bomb”, created using the processed nuclear waste, which was under the surveillance of russian soldiers from March 03. The invaders also restricted the entry to the Ukrainian territory. Only 96 people were able to leave the city.  

Moreover, 208 people are being held in the russian captivity. 540 people went through tortures and sustained personal injuries. 

Mykolaiv oblast

The military administration of Bashtanka district reported that shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of Bereznehuvate community, located on the demarcation line, continues. At approximately 18:31 the enemy struck the outskirts of one of the settlements of the community. The information on victims and damage is being clarified.

At about 03:30 and 05:40, Shyrokivska TC was shelled. Luckily, the enemy hit the territory outside the settlement, so there were no casualties or damage. 

To stabilize the power grid in Mykolaiv region, the electricians were forced to disconnect all 10 groups of consumers.

According to Head of RMA Vitalii Kim, as of October 26, the russian army has damaged or completely destroyed 12 712 civilian buildings in Mykolaiv oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. 

More than 60 osmotic water purification plants have already been installed in Mykolaiv. A few more units of such equipment are to be installed soon.

The mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said that it will be possible to restore the centralized supply of drinking water in 3 weeks after liberation of Kherson from russian occupiers. The city council specialists have already developed a plan for repair works.

Volunteers from the “Volunteer Hundred” of Kherson regional administration and the “Support Kherson” charity fund organized assistance for residents of the village of Lupareve, Mykolaiv district. More than a thousand rations were distributed during the day. Also in Mykolaiv, 50 displaced people from Kherson region received food packages from “Support Kherson” BF.

The Mykolaiv public organization “Dialog” presented a documentary performance “My future after the war”. Kherson director Andrii Mai worked on its production. The premiere took place in October in Germany.

The first stage of the Ukrainian-Danish project “MykoMriia” was launched in Mykolaiv. 175 young people applied for participation in the project and have been listening to lectures online since October 25.

Odesa oblast

The volunteer civilian protection unit was created in Odesa during the war. According to the city public relations service, the large-scale training on polishing the skills of reacting promptly and efficiently under the wartime took place in Odesa. The regional underwater search and recovery dive team, the Red Cross, association of volunteer firefighters, dog handlers and psychologists of the State Emergency Service were involved in the training.

The meeting of the historic toponymic commission was held in Odesa city council. It aimed at considering and approving a list of city streets associated with the aggressor country. The street names related to the russian geography and prominent figures, notably Baikalska, Brestska, Orlovska, Oleksandr Nevsky, Shyshkin, will be renamed to those related to world and Ukrainian heritage. Odesa is gradually getting rid of any ties with fashist russia which killed thousands of Ukrainians. 

A photo exhibition in memory of journalists killed during the war is hosted in the local garden. It was organized by PEN Ukraine, Institute of Mass Information, Institute of Human Rights ZMINA, National Museum of Dignity revolution, Lviv Media Forum, Georgiy Gongadze Award. Based on the statistical data, 40 Ukrainian and foreign journalists were killed during the large-scale war.

Kherson oblast

The situation in Kherson oblast is extremely complicated. Battles continue to rage. While Ukrainian defenders are eliminating the enemy on the front line, russian invaders are waging the war over civilians. The enemy fires at our soldiers from aviation, MLRs, barrels, mortars along the entire contact line. 

According to the General Staff, peaceful settlements were attacked. The settlements located close to the contact line were also affected. The enemy continues to erect the defensive structures on the left bank of the Dnipro river. 

The enemy tried to disrupt our defenses twice. They didn’t succeed and retreated. 

The enemy shelled the recently liberated Tryfonivka with tanks. Some civilians homes were damaged. One person was injured. 

Ukrainian aviation struck the buildup of manpower, weapons and equipment three times. The rocket and artillery forces fired at the targets 217 times.

The verified losses of the enemy in the south are estimated to be 26 soldiers, 4 mortars, TOR anti missile and anti aircraft system, 6 armored vehicles and ammunition depots. 2 kamikaze drones were also shot down.

The police opened 43 criminal proceedings on war crimes committed by russians in Kherson oblast.

The enemy fired at Beryslav region once again. Civilians were wounded. Residential buildings, shops, drugstores, farms and vehicles were damaged.

In Skadovsk, russian law enforcement authorities seized the notary’s office by changing the locks and appropriating the property and documents. They also seized the hotel together with the local collaborators. In Kakhovka, russian soldiers kidnapped four people. Their whereabouts is unknown. Locals inform that russian soldiers are settling in apartments and houses in Oleshky and Henichesk regions. The invaders also capture drugstores and shops. In Bilozerka, they stole the property, documents and the company’s vehicle from the local vet clinic.   

According to the head of RMA Yaroslav Yanushevich, locals from recently liberated settlements who returned to their homes report cases of looting by russian soldiers. During the occupation, russian invaders took away all contents, vehicles and trucks, plundered farms and silos, took away harvest, salpetrous fertilizer and diesel fuel.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Since the war began, 74 763 forcibly evacuated persons from other oblasts were settled in Volyn. 60 293 people have the status of IDPs, including 18 232 children, 2 274 persons with disabilities, 7 757 pensioners, 68 families with many children, and 9 single-parent families.

Head of the mobilization and defense sector, Colonel Pavlo Svadovskyi, announced that as of October 25, over 32K summonses were served in Volyn. At the same time, about 20K people and over 1.5K pieces of equipment were mobilized on the territory of the oblast.

General director of Volynoblenergo, Serhii Sevidov, announced that in Volyn, there is an overload of power grids, which is why schedules of restrictions on use of power supply (emergency shutdowns) have been introduced. The most difficult situation is in the administrative center of the oblast.

Mayor of Lutsk Ihor Polishchuk, announced that the territory of Lutsk community is preparing for the heating season and overcoming emergency situations. The city will receive modular boiler houses with grant funds. Diesel generators, stoves, heaters, tents, etc. are already on their way to the city.

Zakarpattia oblast

RMA reported that all intensive care, operating and maternity departments of medical institutions of the region are equipped with generators.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

RMA representatives took part in an online meeting chaired by Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. They discussed preparation for the meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak mixed commission on industrial and scientific-technical cooperation.

Humanitarian cargo for IDPs living in 8 communities of Ivano-Frankivsk district arrived from Poland. Humanitarian aid includes food, blankets (20 pallets), diapers (4 pallets), hygiene products (4 pallets), paper towels (2.5 pallets), etc.

The aid, namely, food products, personal hygiene products, medicines, candles and blankets, was sent from Ivano-Frankivsk to the 10th brigade of the 109th battalion. 

The Horodenkivska city council reported that a batch of outer winter clothing, shoes and other ammunition for the military has arrived in Horodenkiv region. All ammunition and clothing were purchased with one-day earnings of city council employees and financial support of the Council of Commodity Producers.

Lviv oblast

The Ukrainian-Slovak Joint Commission on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation was held. Representatives of Lviv RMA joined the event online. They discussed interregional cooperation.

Financial support is actively implemented in the region within the framework of the Program for the Implementation of Priority Infrastructure Projects. Over UAH 182 million of the planned UAH 279 million have already been sent. During the current week, UAH 5.3 million was provided for current and capital repairs of 5 dormitories for accommodation and living of IDPs and 2 social and medical service institutions.

Lviv RMA signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with CF Support Azov, which supports Azovs. During the meeting, two cars were donated from benefactors (one for CF Support Azov, the other one for the Azov food service). They were filled with starlinks, batteries, shoes, medicines, etc.

As part of the 1K Freedom Cars initiative, 11 cars were sent to the military. All vehicles were equipped with camouflage nets for cars, canisters of diesel fuel and spare tires for cars.

The DIL Charitable Foundation sent humanitarian cargo for soldiers on the front lines. 70 sleeping bags and 60 first-aid kits will soon be given to brigades in which defenders from Lviv oblast are fighting.

The company Uber provides free promotional codes for trips for medical workers. As part of the Uber initiative, which will last until the end of November 2022, about 35K promotional codes for trips are provided to hospitals every month.

Lviv RMA announced a collection of Ukrainian-language books to support Ukrainians in Poland. A library of Ukrainian literature operates in the Polish city of Gdansk on the basis of the Fundacja RC charitable organization. As of today, the book fund includes over 1K books.

On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, residents of Lviv oblast, representatives of Luhansk and Lviv RMAs painted the picture Independents. It was sold at a charity auction. The proceeds from the sale went to HOPEBOXES for families in Kherson oblast who need support or help. And the picture is placed in Lyceum No. 1 of the Zimnovodnivska community.

During the school fair in Yavoriv region, over UAH 20K to support the Armed Forces was collected. All funds were donated to the NGO Union of Veterans of the Yaniv ATO for the needs of the defenders.

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast brought together representatives of business, customs service, tax officials and experts from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Rivne and Chernivtsi oblasts at the forum. The key goal is to facilitate establishment of a constructive dialogue between the authorities and business regarding export activities in wartime conditions.

In the Rivne Regional Clinical Treatment and Diagnostic Center, the International Scientific and Practical Conference was held. Its key goal was to discuss stages of rehabilitation, the state of social adaptation of the military, etc.

Rivne received 500 mobile homes from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). In total, MSB will provide Ukraine with 4K mobile pavilion houses for temporary stay.

Humanitarian aid, namely 15 laptops, was handed over to the social protection bodies of the population of Rivne oblast. Assistance was provided by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Among 10 Ukrainian servicemen who were recently released is a soldier Ivan Sakov, a native of Volodymyrets. He was captured at the end of September.

Ternopil oblast

Heating will be supplied to Ternopil kindergartens. As soon as the average daily temperature drops, heating will be provided to city residents.

Since the capacity of power supply facilities has reduced, emergency shutdowns were applied in the oblast. Currently, there is a brown out in over 800 settlements.  

Street lighting is partially restored in Ternopil. The city streets will be lit until 9:00 p.m.

Lisova tehnika LLC sent five rangefinders for Ternopil territorial defense defenders and the National Guard.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

RMA reported that the first meeting of the renewed Coordinating Council on issues of national and patriotic education took place in RMA.

Ukrenergo reported that in the evening, Khmelnytskyi reduced electricity consumption by 15%, which is one of the largest indicators among oblasts of Ukraine.

2 DJ Mavik 3 quadcopters were handed over to the soldiers from Khmelnytskyi. In total, over 130 quadcopters and drones of various models and modifications were sent from Khmelnytskyi to various military and military units.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Main Department of the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi oblast reported that an interactive event for IDPs was held in Chernivtsi. Adults and children were shown special equipment and models of explosive objects were demonstrated. Those present were also told how to provide first aid to a victim.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the EU will allocate 1 billion euros of emergency aid to Ukraine to restore energy supply.

CEO of Raytheon Technologies, which produces this type of weapon, Greg Hayes, announced that the US transferred the first two NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.

President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, announced that Germany will provide Ukraine with 2 MARS installations and four Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers.

Oleksiy Reznikov stated that this month, the first batch of 10 American Switchblade drones may arrive in Ukraine.

Ukraine has started using the Israeli Smartshooter system, which will help intercept kamikaze drones.

Israel will hand over to the US evidence of the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine.

From December, Estonia will completely ban the import of russian oil.

Ukrainian rescuers received the IV tranche of aid from the Republic of France. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine was provided with 7 fire trucks, a mobile first aid station with radiological equipment, a medical vehicle, 6 specialized cars and 7 trailers with boats, fire and rescue equipment, clothing and daily food kits with a total weight of more than 70 thousand kg.
