The enemy is trying to hold the ground in the temporarily occupied territories, focus efforts on restraining the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and launch the offensive towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy attacks in the area of settlements of Bakhmut, Ozarianivka and Odradivka, Donetsk oblast.
The enemy fires at the positions of Ukrainian defenders along the entire contact line and conducts aerial reconnaissance. The enemy launched a barrage of strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian housing by violating the norms of International humanitarian law, laws and customs of war.
The occupiers launched 40 missiles and 16 “Shahed-136” attack drones. 20 cruise missiles and 11 UAVs were shot down by Ukrainian defenders.
The enemy hit energy and critical infrastructure of Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts.
Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation did not significantly change.

Avdiivka with tanks, mortars, barrels and rockets in the area of Avdiivka, Vesele, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske.
Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy hit with artillery the area of the settlements of Vremivka, Donetsk oblast, Dorozhninka, Stepnohirsk, Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Dobra Nadiia, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Nikopol was hit with rockets.
Towards the South Buh, the enemy fired at the civilian infrastructure. Over 20 settlements close to the contact line were attacked.
Some russian units are leaving the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast. Looting and robbery cases of locals became more frequent. Based on the available information, the enemy abandoned the settlements of Charivne and Chkalove. Officers and medical staff were evacuated from Beryslav.
There became more cases of the occupiers’ looting and unlawful acts in the city of Kherson. They steal local vehicles and attempt to leave the city using the ferry crossing in the area of the Antoniv bridge.
The enemy stations at the premises of educational institutions in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast. At the same time local kids go to school.
Based on the available information, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the manpower and equipment of the enemy in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 200 soldiers were killed, 150 wounded. The ammunition depot and 10 military units and equipment were destroyed.
The Ukrainian aviation launched 10 strikes. Nine buildups of equipment and weapons, as well as anti missile and anti aircraft systems of the enemy were affected. The Air Defense Forces of Ukraine brought down one enemy’s helicopter.
The rocket troops and artillery hit the command point, two areas of buildup of manpower, weapons and equipment and one ammunition depot.
According to deputy head of the President Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko, following the terrorist attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, there was a blackout in 1 451 603 households. As of 2 pm, there was a blackout in 672K households in Khmelnytskyi oblast, 188 400 – in Mykolaiv, 102K – in Volyn oblast, 242K – in Cherkasy oblast, 174 790 -in Rivne oblast, 61 913 – in Kirovohrad oblast and 10 500 in Odesa. He also stressed that the Air Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down 18 missiles.
According to the President of Ukraine Zelenskyy, russians launched 36 missiles on the territory of Ukraine. Most of them were shot down. He also urged “these were vicious attacks on critical infrastructure facilities. It is a typical terrorist strategy. The world can and must stop this terror”.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to the morning report of the General Staff, yesterday the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled russian attack in Ternova. About 20 settlements were hit by the enemy, Kharkiv and Kupiansk among them. Towards Sloboda, Chuhunivka, Hatyshche, Hlyboke, Milove, Neskuchne, Ohirtseve, Starytsia, Strilecha, Ternove and Vovchansk were shelled with tanks, mortars and artillery. In Kupiansk direction, Bohdanivka, Dvorichna and Kolodiazne were hit with mortars and rocket artillery. Based on the information provided by the General Staff, Berestove and Kyslivka were also hit. Four settlements were under fire – Berestove, Kamianka, Krasne and Mala Vovcha.
Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that there were partial power cuts in Bohodukhiv, Derhachi, Liubotyn, Lozova, Merefa, Nova Vodolaha, Valky and Zmiiv communities.
Yesterday, the enemy launched 2 missile strikes, probably from S-300 missile launchers, at an industrial infrastructure facility in Kharkiv. As a result of these two strikes 11 people were injured. One of the injured is in serious condition, the rest are in average one.
The enemy shelled Dvorichna, Vovchansk and other settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts. Private houses were damaged and fires broke out.
According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care, a 45-year-old man in Bohodukhiv district, a 56-year-old man in Kharkiv district and a 54-year-old woman in Kupiansk district were hospitalized with injuries.
Mine clearance of the liberated territories continues. Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 803 explosive ordnance.
Donetsk oblast
Ukrainian troops repelled all attacks in Bakhmut direction.
The invaders’ troops shelled Velyka Novosilka settlements, Arkhanhelske, Ivanivdke, Karlivka and Paraskoviivka villages with artillery, Uragan, Grad and Smerch multiple rocket launchers.
Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians killed 3 civilians in Bakhmut. 10 people were injured.
Last night russians continued shelling from Vuhledar towards Lyman community.
In Volnovakha direction, Novoukrainka was shelled, damaging 2 buildings. The enemy also hit the outskirts of Pavlivka and Vuhledar. There were no casualties.
There were no casualties in Donetsk direction, but there was destruction. A high-voltage power grid was damaged in Kurakhove community. Hostre settlement remains without electricity. In Avdiivka, there were isolated strikes at night and massive artillery attacks in the morning. There were hits in Avdiivka Coke Plant and auto depot.
In Horlivka direction, it was loud at Maiorsk station of Svitlodarsk, there were no casualties.
In Lysychansk direction, massive shelling of Torske and Zarichne in Lyman community continues. The number of victims and the extent of destruction are being established.
The police reported that the invaders shelled Kostiantynivka with prohibited ammunition.
Rescuers continue de-mining the territory, delivering water and helping the population. 600 explosive ordnance were found and 170 cubic meters of water were brought in the region.
Bakhmut Mayor, Oleksii Reva, informed that due to constant shelling by russian aviation and artillery, rescuers do not have time to quickly clear the rubble of buildings, entire entrances are falling down. According to him, civilians are dying every day, and the entire infrastructure is destroyed. It is impossible to restore it under constant shelling. There are issues not only with water supply and electricity, but also with garbage removal.
Luhansk oblast
Yesterday, the units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled an enemy attack near Bilohorivka and Zolotarivka settlements.
Aviation of the Defence Forces launched 16 strikes. Three strongholds, ten concentration areas of weapons and military equipment, three positions of anti-aircraft missile systems were hit. In addition, our air defense units shot down an enemy Su-25 and one Orlan-10 UAV in different directions.
Rocket and artillery troops hit 2 control posts, 14 buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, an enemy S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, enemy artillery at firing positions and 5 other important objects.
The enemy shelled the following settlements with various types of weapons:

Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that the hostilities rage in Svatove direction. He noted that battles continue there and russians have brought up large reserves of partially mobilized troops. Militants occupied the houses of residents in the villages surrounding Svatove, they are conducting total mobilization in the occupied territory. Haidai added that the Wagner PMC line is currently installed only along 2 km.
First, the invaders took away people’s houses in villages along the front line in the direction of Kreminna-Svatove, now they have reached the cities. They settled themselves or other people in the apartments in Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk. Collaborators are exposing houses of Ukrainian patriots.

The State Judicial Administration of Ukraine reported that the trial has begun against a member of the russian guard accused of abusing residents of Hostomel, as well as stealing personal belongings of Ukrainians. He was incriminated with violation of the rules and customs of war. When looking for Ukrainian defenders and law enforcement officers, russians broke the doors and windows of houses, intimidated civilians with weapons, forced people to undress completely, kept them in the basement, beat them with buts and simulated execution.
Fragments of a downed cruise missile of the occupiers were found in Kyiv oblast. The warhead of the missile is 400 kg. This was announced by the head of the National Police of the oblast, Andriy Nebytov. According to him, the rocket was shot down over a forest area, there were no casualties or infrastructure damage.

Dmytro Zhivytskyi, head of Sumy RMA, announced that the defenders of Sumy oblast have started to receive their winter uniforms. The distribution of winter sets began last week. So far, 300 wind, moisture-proof and the same number of fleece jackets, 240 sets of winter underwear have been handed over to the territorial defense soldiers. The vast majority of these clothes are made in Sumy oblast.
Head of the Bilopillia UTC Yuriy Zarko announced that 170 families of Bilopillia community will receive free firewood for the winter. This fuel will be available to representatives of the volunteer TG “VYR”, family members of fallen soldiers and those who are currently serving, families of those wounded during military service, captured and missing.
Chernihiv oblast
The “North” OC reported that the Armed Forces shot down an enemy missile in Chernihiv oblast. A fighter jet shot down the target.
The name of one of the russian soldiers involved in a war crime in the village of Yahidny, Chernihiv oblast, has become known. The occupiers kept 366 people in the school basement, 67 of them were children. The documentary movie “The Diary of a Survivor”, shot by the journalists of “Suspilne”, tells this story. 10 people from detainees died in the basement without medical assistance. Journalists investigated that Andrey Timashenkov, an officer from Yekaterinburg, was in Yahidny at that time and he was in the school premises.
A Chernihiv artist painted several entryways and stairwells with patriotic drawings. Now the residents of the porches can admire the blue sky, wheat and sunflowers painted with acrylic paints.
A charity auction was held in Chernihiv, at which the Women’s Union of Chernihiv Oblast collected 36K hryvnias for the military. This was reported in “North” OC, for whose units the aid was intended. There were 10 paintings among the lots, created by women psychologically affected by fighting in Chernihiv, during art therapy sessions.
Diana Nasibova, an 11-year-old resident of Nizhyn, collected 50K hryvnias for a thermal imaging camera for the Armed Forces. A schoolgirl sold her own handmade jewelry at the local bazaar. The townspeople also helped her collect this amount with their donations. Earlier, the girl helped homeless animals, and now she puts her strength into helping the army, “so that the war ends as soon as possible.”
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the occupiers terrorized Nikopol district by firing from heavy artillery and MLRS several times. Previously there were no victims. In Marhanets community, the shelling consequences are being clarified. In Nikopol, almost two dozen private houses, farm buildings, and gas furnaces were damaged. A fire was extinguished by rescuers.
According to Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Valentin Reznichenko, the russians shelled Nikopol district again in the afternoon. Chervonohryhorivska community was hit with an anti-aircraft missile. Three people were injured and hospitalized.
The Hertz 18++ exhibition was housed in Dnipro. As the exhibition organizers said, installations, paintings and sculptures made by the military, internally displaced persons and Dnipro residents “help to win a mental victory.”
Vinnytsia oblast
Students of the Kachaniv Lyceum in Vinnytsia collected more than 20K hryvnias for the defenders by selling homemade sweets and pastries. Sleeping bags, dry borsch, soups, and paraffin for trench candles were bought.
In Vinnytsia, the wifes of the military created a cook battalion. Since the full-scale invasion began, more than 800 packages of borshch and soups were prepared and sent to the front line. They are currently developing a recipe of a buckwheat soup with mushrooms.
Kirovohrad oblast
According to the spokeswoman of “Kirovogradoblenergo” Olena Danylchenko, there were explosions in Kirovohrad oblast during the air alert. As a result of the airstrike, some energy infrastructure objects of Kirovohrad region were damaged. There was a blackout in a number of settlements. According to the deputy head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko, 61 913 subscribers were disconnected from energy consumption in total.
Poltava oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine identified five people who filmed and forwarded videos of night attacks on Cherkasy oblast. They recorded a video of the explosion on one of the critical infrastructure facilities.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not changed significantly. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied borders. The enemy shelled the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using tank weapons, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire line of contact.
The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia, Zarichne, Poltavka, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Shcherbaky, Stepove, Bilohiria, Dorozhnianka, Malynivka, Chervone, Novoandriivka, Olhivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske.
2 rockets were fired at the village of Zarichne. There were no casualties or serious damage.
There is a shortage of electricity in the unified energy system due to the morning enemy shelling of the energy facilities of Ukraine. Hourly power outages are possible in Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia district to reduce the load on the power system. As noted by Zaporizhiaobleenerho, no order has yet been received on implementing electricity blackout schedules in Zaporizhzhia oblast. However, it is possible. Such actions can be iterated until stabilization of the single energy system.
Mykolaiv oblast
The russian military launched a barrage of strikes from the Black Sea with high-precision Kalibr missiles. Two critical infrastructure objects were hit in Mykolaiv oblast. There was no electricity for several hours in Mykolaiv, now the electricity supply is gradually being restored.
Electricity consumption in Mykolaiv oblast decreased by 50 percent. This is due to hostilities and the shutdown of large enterprises.
At night, during a barrage of strikes on the southern regions, air defense forces destroyed 10 attack drones over Mykolaiv oblast
Tonight, the territory of Halytsyniv community was attacked. So far, one local was killed and one wounded. The power grid and gas pipeline were damaged, and part of the settlement is left without electricity and gas. A fire broke out in a residential building, which was extinguished.
Yesterday, the russian occupiers attacked the territorial communities of Pervomaisk, Halytsyniv and Kutsurubs. The enemy damaged residential buildings and garages. The territory and nearby settlements of the Bereznehuvate community were hit.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast extinguished 3 fires that arose as a result of the enemy shelling. Shrubs burned in Kutsurub community, 8 garages caught on fire in Pervomaisk community, and a residential building caught on fire in Halytsyniv community.
Water in the Mykolaiv water supply system remains technical. It is collected from the South Buh River. Work on water purification and installation of distribution points continues in the city. It will be possible to restore drinking water supply to Mykolaiv residents’ water supply only after liberation of temporarily occupied Kherson. After deoccupation, Mykolaiv utilities will need about three weeks to restore water supply.
Odesa oblast
On the morning of October 22, the russian military launched two missile strikes at an energy infrastructure facility in Odesa oblast. As a result of rocket strikes, three people were injured. 10 500 households were left without power as of 14:10 on October 22 due to a hostile attack.
Air defense forces shot down four Kalibr-type missiles over Odesa oblast. This was reported by the “South” Operational Command. The russian military launched Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea at 7 am.
The enemy naval fleet in the Black Sea has increased to 10 units. It includes 3 surface missile carriers equipped with 24 Kalibrs.
About 50K dolphins were killed in the Black Sea because of the war. Many warships maneuver in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, including submarines, which sometimes approach the shore at a distance of about 100 meters. Dolphins die because of the use of sonar by the naval fleet.
Kherson oblast
The situation towards the South Buh has not undergone any significant changes. The enemy conducts defensive actions and tries to hold occupied lines. The enemy continues to use all available weapons, uses aviation and kamikaze drones, as well as reconnaissance drones firing at the positions of our troops, communities adjacent to the front line and rear areas.
The enemy used SHAHED-136 kamikaze drones on recently liberated Shevchenkivka in Beryslav district on the right bank of the Dnipro, and launched a missile strike with the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system on Novovoskresenske. There were no human losses.
The enemy attacked Nova Kamianka and Tryfonivka three times with helicopters, launched 5 more helicopter strikes on positions of our troops, and used assault aircraft twice. But one of the attack aircraft was hit by our anti-aircraft missile unit. Also an enemy Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone was shot down.
Our aviation launched 10 airstrikes against enemy equipment buildups and strongholds in the Beryslav and Bashtanka districts, and against the positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft defense systems in Kakhovka district.
According to available information, a large part of the population left the city of Kherson. Russian occupiers, who remained in the city, wore civilian clothes and moved into the abandoned houses. The enemy is preparing Kherson for street battles.
Russian troops continue to strengthen checkpoints across the Dnipro and have completed construction of a barge bridge along the damaged Antoniv bridge in Kherson. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
The police opened 42 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army in Kherson oblast. As a result of the enemy attack, civilians were wounded and killed in Beryslav district, private and apartment buildings, shops, offices were destroyed. The road surface was damaged. 1K tons of wheat grain and tractors were destroyed due to the projectile impact on the warehouse. Last year’s grain harvest, sunflower seeds and agricultural machinery were also destroyed by fire.
The russian military seized the premises of the executive service in the city of Hola Prystan, and placed the occupier’s “Pension Fund” there.
The police received a report from a resident of Henichesk district that occupiers had moved into his apartment with employees of the FSB of the russian federation. The occupiers took home appliances and other property from the apartment, which they loaded into a car and drove away.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
RMA reported that Volyn oblast was hit by rockets. Energy infrastructure facilities were struck and destroyed. It cannot be renovated. According to preliminary information, three Kh-101 missiles hit the infrastructure facility. Firefighters, rescuers, emergency services immediately went to the spots to eliminate the consequences.
In the regional center, a private house was damaged by the shock wave and fragments of the rocket. One civilian received burns. The fire was extinguished on the spot by units of the State Emergency Service.
There was a blackout at 102K as a result of rocket attacks in Volyn oblast. Sirens in Volyn are connected to alternative power sources.
RMA reported that Zakarpattia sent a mobile bath and laundry complex to the soldiers of the 128th brigade. It was constructed on the basis of a truck with a trailer.
The city council reported that Lithuanian volunteer Dainius Pasninas bought and brought to Volyn an Opel Frontera car for the military. Along with the car, the volunteer handed over tourniquets and thermal clothing. The car is being prepared for war and will be delivered to the soldiers of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade to the front.

Head of the Children’s Service of the Zakarpattia RMA, Svitlana Yakimelina, held a meeting with the management of regional departments of labor, social issues and family in Mykhailivtsi and Trebišov (Slovakia). They discussed the border crossing by children aged 16-18 unaccompanied by adults in the conditions of war, as well as recreation in Slovakia of children forced to move to Zakarpattia.
Director of the department of education and science, youth and sports of RMA, Maryana Marusynets, reported that on the basis of vocational and technical schools of Zakarpattia IDPs the Ukrainian language is taught.
RMA reported that Zakarpattia joined the national flash mob in support of the military Everything is Ukraine. A blue-yellow flag has arrived in Khust, on which students of vocational schools from all over the country have already written wishes to the soldiers.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The rescuers of the unified detachment, who served in Kharkiv oblast, returned to Prykarpattia. Lviv oblast
Head of RMA, Maksym Kozytskyi, announced that in Lviv oblast, the Air Defense Forces were on alert.

In the near future, the children’s hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv will receive modern equipment worth UAH 25 million. It will be purchased by the CF Tvoya Opora. This is what the memorandum of cooperation, signed at the hospital the other day, stipulates.
Yurii Napora, an eight-year-old volunteer from Lviv collected over UAH 1 million for the Armed Forces by singing. Yura is the youngest volunteer of the youth spiritual and patriotic organization Apostolska Chota, operating in Horodok.
Rivne oblast
RMA reported that the enemy launched missile strikes on the facilities of oblast’s energy infrastructure. Electrical substations were damaged. There are no victims. Residents of surrounding areas were promptly evacuated to safe places. 16 special equipment units of the State Emergency Service, 99 employees worked on liquidation of the consequences.
There was a blackout at 174 790 households as a result of rocket attacks in Rivne oblast. Currently, electricity supply has been restored for over 140K consumers.
Due to the lack of water supply, RMA ensures the delivery of water to the hospital of the Rivne district. There are places for temporary stay for mothers with babies and small children, where heat, light and everything necessary are provided.
Due to the lack of electricity, the sirens in the Rivne district do not operate. The vehicles of the State Emergency Service and patrol police announcing the alarm are brought out on the street. In addition, loudspeakers operate on the territory of fire stations.
RMA reported that since February 24, 283 “missile danger” signals have been recorded in Rivne oblast.

Ternopil oblast
Over 200 heating points will be deployed in Ternopil oblast. They are installed so that in the event of an emergency power outage and heating, people can warm up, charge their devices, and receive help.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Head of RMA, Serhii Hamalii, announced that during the air alert, the enemy struck Khmelnytskyi oblast. Air defense forces shot down several missiles. The missiles hit Khmelnytskyi and Shepetivskyi districts. According to preliminary information, there are no injured or dead persons.
Mayor of Khmelnytskyi, Oleksandr Simchyshyn, announced that there are communication issues in the city.
The Office of the President reported that as a result of missile strikes in Khmelnytskyi oblast, there was a blackout at 672K households.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kateryna Pavlichenko, visited Khmelnytskyi.
An interactive map of IDPs needs was presented in Khmelnytskyi thanks to collaboration between communities and benefactors within the framework of the Partnership Platform of International Aid. The information on the map regarding the needs and number of IDPs will be updated every two weeks.
A charity event for children with disabilities, orphans and children deprived of parental care was held in the Department of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth of the Lutsk City Council. Children received emergency bags as a gift, backpacks, blankets and thermal mugs with the logo of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that a plane of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a missile over Dnistrovsky district of Chernivtsi oblast, and it fell into a lake. There is no damage to objects and houses of citizens.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The EU handed over 16 Renault trucks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Renault Trucks 4×4 D220 on-board trucks are provided to support the medical, engineering and logistics units of the Armed Forces.
The UK and Poland signed a memorandum of support for Ukraine. According to this memorandum, the United Kingdom will make a donation to the Polish International Solidarity Fund in the amount of 10 million pounds to support refugees from Ukraine.
