War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 21, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 271st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:

The enemy continues its armed aggression against our state, and does not stop striking at industrial facilities. The invaders try to keep the temporarily occupied territories, focusing their efforts on restraining actions of the Defense Forces, enhancing the defense line, and conducting offensive operations in some areas. Aerial reconnaissance is carried out as well.

The enemy carried out 1 air and 2 missile strikes, as well as over 10 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops along the contact line.

Towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversky, the situation did not changed significantly, there are no signs of offensive groups formed.

In the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts, the enemy continues to hold separate units of its troops.

Towards Sloboda, the enemy shelled in the areas of the settlements of Veterynarne, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Zarubynka, Ambarne and Dvorшchna, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy is defending, shelling from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Peschane and Krokhmalne, Kharkiv oblast; Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Ploshchanka and Makiivka of Luhansk oblast and Yampolivka, Torske and Berestove of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, the enemy focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive actions.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy is actively defending on the captured frontiers. There is shelling from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of 21 settlements, namely Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Soledar, Maiorsk, Marinka and Pervomaiske of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducts defensive operations. Our positions were fired from mortars, barreled artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. From enemy artillery fire, 9 settlements were damaged.

Towards Kryvyi Rih and Kherson, the enemy creates an echeloned defense system, improves fortification and logistics support for advanced units, does not stop artillery shelling of our troops’ positions and settlements on the right bank of the Dnipro River. Osokorivka, Havrylivka, Mylove, Shliakhove, Vesele, Vysuntsi, Veletenske, Stanislav and Kherson were fired from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery.

In the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, mobilization to the ranks of the Russian occupation forces continues. In the city of Simferopol, on November 19, a meeting was held with the participation of the so-called heads of law enforcement agencies with representatives of the city administration and heads of settlement councils. The main issue of this confluence was the failure to comply with certain quantitative indicators of mobilization.

In order to solve this problem, from November 21, 2022, representatives of the so-called military commissariats and police in the specified temporarily occupied territory began issuing summonses under signature.

Ukrainian aviation struck the enemy’s buildup. Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces, affected a control point, a depot of fuel and lubricants and a buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Head of the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA Yehor Cherniov reports that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly recognized the russian federation and its regime as terrorist. The relevant resolution was adopted unanimously at the annual session in Madrid. The resolution calls for establishing a special tribunal to prosecute this regime for heinous war crimes. Cherniov also added that in this way it is possible to condemn not only the direct perpetrators of war crimes, but also the top leadership of the russian federation.

Head of the joint coordination press center of the Defense Forces of the south of Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk informs that on the Kinburn Spit of Mykolaiv oblast, the military operation continues in silence mode. “The specificity of the situation lies in the fact that these are geographical features. The enemy pulls up forces there from the territory that is temporarily occupied, so he can afford to restore reserves even after we inflict damage… Nevertheless, we continue our combat work. As soon as there is a result, we will report on it. Now it is a military operation in silence mode,” said Humeniuk.

Volunteer mechanics from Kharkiv, Kyrylo and Andrii, made an electric car from a Soviet off-road vehicle created 50 years ago for intelligence officers. Towards Svatove-Kreminna, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually moving forward. According to the updated information, a column of enemy equipment in Syrotyne (Svatove region) was destroyed. De-occupied settlements are still shelled by the enemy. Makiivka is destroyed to the ground, people are constantly in basements.

According to Serhii Haidai, Head of the Luhansk RMA, winter will benefit our military, because now due to bad weather, a continuous “swamp” under our feet has formed near Kreminna and Svatove. According to him, the occupiers practically destroyed Bilohorivka, Makiivka, Novotoshkivske, Popasna and Toshkivka but people are waiting for it to be possible to return there.

Referring to the Luhansk RMA, after the liberation of the settlements, the heads of village councils, who remained under occupation, underwent all checks in law enforcement agencies that they had not cooperated with the russians.
