War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 12, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 262nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:

In the liberated settlements of Kherson oblast, units of the Defense Forces are carrying out stabilization measures. Representatives of the regional military administration returned to Kherson and started operating there.

The enemy continues fortification of defensive lines on the left bank of the Dnipro. At the same time, offensive operations of the rf forces are ongoing towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The russian occupiers carried out 14 air strikes, and up to 10 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. Over 15 settlements of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy oblasts were hit.

The situation didn’t significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia. The republic of belarus continues to support the russian armed aggression against Ukraine by providing russian armed forces with its infrastructure, territory and airspace. The russian and belarusian grouping is being formed in the republic of belarus. There is a constant threat of launching missiles and air strikes from the territory and airspace of this country.

In other directions, the enemy was firing towards:

Siversk from mortars and barreled artillery, in the areas of Slavhorod and Romashkovo, Sumy oblast;

Sloboda, 23 cases of artillery shelling of settlements near the contact line;

Kupiansk and Lyman from tanks and the whole range of artillery, in the areas of Berestove, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Kyslivka, Bilohorivka, Stelmakhivka and Siversk;

Bakhmut from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of Opytne, Bilohorivka and Niu York;

Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia from tanks and artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements Vremivka, Vuhledar, Shcherbaky, Stepove and Prechystovka.

Towards the South Buh, after the Antonovsky road and railway bridges, the road through the dam of the Kakhovka HPP and other previously mentioned bridge crossings being blown up, the enemy enhances its positions on the left bank of the Dnieper River.

The russian military and political leadership is trying to integrate the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts into the legal space of the russian federation. Thus, from November 11, the issuance of documents of self-proclaimed territorial entities, specifically regarding participation in hostilities, is suspended on this territory.

The command of the 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the russian federation was given an order to centrally transfer cash settlements with personnel to financial institutions and bank cards of the russian federation. Servicemen of these units are invited to continue their service on a contract basis under russian law. At the same time, these persons express concerns about cancellation of documents and benefits intended by fake republics in case of refusal of the new contract.

In the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast, the moral and psychological state and discipline of russian soldiers are deteriorating. Prohibition (dry law) was introduced in Henichesk, and the occupation authorities seized and removed alcoholic beverages from warehouses, shops, restaurants and other catering places.

According to the updated information, the Defense Forces confirmed the defeat of the area of an enemy buildup in Luhansk oblast, near the settlement of Hirske. After a high-precision strike, the enemy’s losses amounted to 27 people killed and 18 wounded.

The Air Forces launched 11 strikes, hitting 8 buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

Speaker of the Air Forces, Yurii Ihnat, said that russia can launch a massive missile strike on November 15-16. The G20 summit will be held these days. He also added that though russia continues to build up weapons, in particular missiles, it has significantly depleted its reserves.
