War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 07, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 257th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:

The enemy is trying to keep the temporarily captured territories, focusing efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, the enemy launches offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The enemy is firing at the units of the Armed Forces along the front line, erecting defensive constructions in some directions and conducting the aerial reconnaissance. They continue to hit critical infrastructure and civilian homes by violating the International humanitarian laws, conventions and customs of war.

The enemy carried out 4 missile and 12 air strikes, as well as over 14 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.

Ten settlements of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, and Kherson oblasts came under enemy fire.

The situation did not significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia.  The republic of belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, providing its military infrastructure, territory and airspace. The transfer of units of the armed forces of the russian federation to the territory of the republic of belarus to create a joint russian-belarusian group of troops continues.

There is a constant threat of launching air strikes, including those by strike UAVs from the territory and airspace of the republic of belarus.

In other directions, the enemy fired towards:

Sloboda from tanks, mortars, rocket and barrel artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Udy, Vysoka Yaruha, Strelecha, Ohirtsevo, Hatyshche, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Dvorychanske, Chuhunivka and Dvorichna;

Kupiansk and Lyman from artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Novoselovske, Stelmakhivka, Miasozharivka, Andriivka, Nevske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske and Spirne;

The russian occupiers continue forced evacuation of civilians from the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast to the territory of the russian federation. Patients of a boarding house for the elderly were moved from the city of Kakhovka. On the territory of this institution, the occupiers deployed their personnel.

The occupation authorities of Kherson oblast artificially create unacceptable living conditions for local residents, by turning off power supply and communications in order to force them to leave the oblast.

Russian servicemen do not stop looting and robbery of the local population and infrastructure, taking away material resources, food and vehicles to the territory of the russian federation.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. According to the updated information, on the night of November 6, the occupiers’ fuel reserves were destroyed in the city of Hola Prystan.

According to Head of the office of the Ombudsman’s secretariat, Olena Vykhor, the occupiers took 6,032 children from Ukraine. These are children of Ukraine who were abducted by russian soldiers and brought to the territory where the laws of Ukraine do not apply.  Currently, the Secretariat of the Ombudsman has a consultation center that records the appeals of parents who are looking for their children.

According to Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Lubynets, 30 servicemen from Zmiinyi Island have been freed.  The work to release the other defenders is still ongoing.  “During the meeting, the issue of the difficulty of returning our military from captivity was voiced, because it was the military from Zmiinyi that became the legend of this war,”added Lubynets.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal states that Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta, AvtoKrAZ, Motor Sich and Zaporizhtransformator will work to satisfy the defense needs of the state 24/7.  The head of the government stressed that the shares of the five enterprises became military property, transferred to the management of the Ministry of Defense. The shares were forcibly alienated into state ownership exclusively in accordance with the norms of the current legislation.
