War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 06, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 256th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:

The enemy is trying to keep the temporarily captured territories, focusing efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, the enemy launches offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The enemy is firing at the units of the Armed Forces along the front line, erecting defensive constructions in some directions and conducting the aerial reconnaissance. They continue to hit critical infrastructure and civilian homes by violating the International humanitarian laws, conventions and customs of war.

The enemy carried out 3 missile and 3 air strikes, as well as over 5 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.

Seven settlements of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Sumy and Mykolaiv oblasts came under enemy fire.

The situation did not significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia.  The republic of belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, hosting russian servicemen and providing training grounds. There is a constant threat of launching air strikes, including those by strike UAVs from the territory and airspace of the republic of belarus.

In other directions, the enemy fired towards:

Siversk from mortars and barreled artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Vorozhba, Seredyno-Buda and Buniakino, Sumy oblast;

Kupiansk and Lyman from artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka and Ploshchanka;

Bakhmut from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Andriivka and Opytne;

Avdiivka from tanks and the whole range of artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Opytne and Pervomaiske;

Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia from mortars, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Vodiane, Vuhledar, Vremivka, Pavlivka, Novomykhailivka and Huliaipole.

Towards the South Buh, more than 30 settlements near the contact line were hit by fire, namely Pravdyne, Shevchenkove, Kobzartsi, Bilohirka, Mala Seideminukha, Nova Kamianka, Velyka Oleksandrivka and Novokyivka. In addition, the enemy continued to conduct air reconnaissance, actively using UAVs. There were over 65 sorties.

Russian occupation forces continue to blatantly violate the laws and customs of warfare against civilians. In Kherson oblast, private boats on the coasts of the Dnieper are being massively destroyed. Engines and other property from watercraft are appropriated by the invaders. After the flooding of civilian vessels, part of the fuel fell into the river delta and directly threatens the ecosystem of the National Nature Park Nyzhniodniprovskyi.

Forced evacuation of the population from the temporarily occupied territories continues. In Beryslav, local residents are ordered to leave before November 10. The invaders say that the main reason is possible destruction by the Defense Forces of Ukraine of the Kakhovka HPP dam.

According to the updated information, the defeat of the enemy in the previous days in Kherson oblast was confirmed. Thus, in the village of Kakhovka, a blow was struck at a building where up to 200 enemy servicemen were stationed. The enemy carefully hides the consequences of the strike, strict administrative and police measures are being carried out in the city. In the area of the settlement of Radensk, a large column of enemy military equipment was destroyed, their losses being clarified.

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 18 strikes on the enemy. 17 buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as the position of the air defense of the occupiers were hit. Air defense units shot down 3 UAVs.

Soldiers of the Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit 2 control points, 10 buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 2 stations of electronic warfare and a number of other important military targets of the enemy.

The situation with the power supply is controlled. The situation in the capital is under control, albeit difficult. Temporary blackouts help power engineers stabilize the power system. Tkachuk also added that in every district of Kyiv there have long been evacuation commissions in case of completely different emergencies from floods to accidents at critical infrastructure facilities. Now it is important to avoid panic and misinformation.

Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Council Yurii Sobolevskyi says that 10 settlements of Kherson oblast, including the temporarily occupied regional center, were left without electricity and water supply. As a result of the enemy shelling, a high-voltage power line was damaged. The occupiers have already “reported” on the terrorist attack. However, they did not specify that the terrorist attack was carried out by them.
