War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 03, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 253rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:

The enemy is trying to hold the ground in the temporarily occupied territories and focus its efforts on restraining the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russians have launched offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The enemy is firing at the units of the Armed Forces along the front line, erecting defensive constructions in some directions and conducting the aerial reconnaissance. They continue to hit the critical infrastructure and civilian homes by violating the International humanitarian laws, conventions and customs of war.

The enemy launched 3 missiles and 16 air strikes, 40 multi rocket launcher attacks.

25 settlements, Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, Avdiivka, Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast among other regions, were attacked.

The territory of Ukraine is exposed to the threat of new attacks and use of attack UAVs, specifically from the territory of belarus.

The situation did not significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia. The republic of belarus continues to support the russian armed aggression against Ukraine.

The enemy is firing towards:

Siversk from mortars and barrels in the area of Vylchyky, Chernihiv oblast, Stara Huta, Sosnivka, Novovolodymyrivka, Sumy oblast;

Notwithstanding the fact that partial mobilization has terminated, the russian military command continues to draft volunteer fighters into military service to go to war in Ukraine. Military commissariats were instructed to form the so-called volunteer military units. Men with criminal records, without any age restrictions and in any health condition, except disabled persons, can become volunteer fighters. To avail any legal and financial obligations, they don’t have to sign the contract with  the russian Ministry of Defense.

Mobilized soldiers have low morale which leads to various emergencies at the locations where they are stationed. Hence, 15 soldiers and sergeants of the 57th motorized rifle brigade of the so-called territorial forces went AWOL during the unit cohesion and integration in Kazan. When being relocated to Ukraine, two mobilized soldiers committed suicide.

Moreover, the invaders’ units, except private military units, struggle with the insufficient personnel training and breakdown of equipment recently removed from storage and not properly maintained and serviced.

The air defense forces of Ukraine launched 12 air strikes on the enemy. 8 areas of the buildup of weapons and equipment, as well as 4 locations of anti-missile and anti-aircraft systems were hit.

The rocket and artillery forces of Ukraine struck 3 buildups of manpower, 2 buildups of weapons and equipment, 2 ammunition depots and other key military targets of the russian occupiers.

He also added that the police took stabilization measures in 375 liberated settlements: 43 – in Donetsk region, 244 – in Kharkiv region, 88 – in Kherson region. 14 police departments resumed their operations in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kherson regions.

According to the IAEA twitter account, its experts completed the field inspection of facilities at the Ukrainian authorities’ request. No signs of nuclear activity at Ukrainian facilities, which russia falsely called “dirty bomb” development sites, were detected.

On November 2, the enemy tried to advance near Bilohorivka, Makiivka and Nevske. Nevske village was attacked by russians. Moreover, yesterday the invaders shelled near Hrekivka, Nadiia, Ploshchanka and Sukhodol. They expect an offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Svatove, so recently they have been using the so-called “human shield” there, hiding behind civilians.

The russian units are stationed at enterprises and educational institutions, but the educational process is not interrupted. Filtration measures have been intensified in Milove and Novopskov. People disappear after random searches in these settlements. It is almost impossible to find out whether a relative is alive or not. They calm down when the detainee returns – usually after a month or two.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, prices in the temporarily occupied cities and villages are almost twice as high as in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
