War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 02, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 252nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm: 

The enemy is attempting to hold the ground on the temporarily occupied territories and focus its efforts on restraining the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in some directions. They continue the offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka. 

The enemy is firing at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the contact line, erecting defensive constructions and conducting aerial reconnaissance. They continue to attack critical infrastructure and civilian homes by violating the norms of the International humanitarian law, laws and customs of war. 

The invaders launched 1 missile and 12 air strikes, over 25 multi rocket launcher attacks.

At night, the enemy again attacked Ukrainian infrastructure facilities with missiles and Iranian strike Shahed-136 UAVs in areas of more than 15 settlements. Among them are Kremenchuk of Poltava oblast, Vuhledar and Vodiane in the Donetsk oblast and the city of Smila, Cherkasy oblast.

The situation did not significantly change towards Volyn and Polissia. The republic of belarus keeps supporting the russian armed aggression. There is the threat of new strikes and the use of strike UAVs from the territory of the republic of belarus.

The enemy is firing towards:

Siversk from mortars and barreled artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Hai and Senkivka, Chernihiv oblast;

Sloboda from mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements Vovchansk, Hatyshche, Hlyboka, Dvorichna, Kozacha Lopan and Krasne;

Kupiansk and Lyman from mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements Berestove, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Nadiia and Nevske;

Bakhmut from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Ivanhrad, Maiorsk, Rozdolivka, Opytne and Soledar;

Avdiivka from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske;

Novopavlivka from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Mykilske, Pavlivka and Prechistivka;

Zaporizhzhia from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Bilohiria, Huliaipole, Kamianske, Mala Tokmachka, Novopil, Novosilka, Orikhiv and Shcherbaky.

Towards the South Buh, more than 15 settlements along the contact line were hit by fire.

The so-called “evacuation” of local residents from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast continues. The evacuation of civilians from certain settlements of the left-bank part of the oblast was noted. According to available information, from October 31 of this year, collaborators and their families, medical staff and equipment from the central region hospital began leaving the settlement of Hornostaivka. 

The occupation authorities gave local residents of the settlement of Nova Zburivka 3 days to independently travel deep into the occupied territory, or to the territory of the russian federation. The population has been warned that from November 5, the “evacuation” will be forced.

On October 27, the occupation authorities began an “audit” of industrial solar power generation facilities. The occupiers threaten to confiscate and take out the equipment of enterprises whose owners are in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities and refuse to return to the temporarily occupied territory.

According to the updated information, as a result of successful actions of units of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhia oblast, in the previous days the occupiers delivered about a hundred severely injured to hospitals in the cities of Tokmak and Melitopol.

Because of constant casualties among collaborators and the refusal to perform their duties, the enemy holds competitions to fill vacant positions in the occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporozhzhia oblast.

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 20 strikes on the enemy. Severaol buildups of weapons and military equipment, as well as positions of enemy air defense were targeted. 

Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces affected 3 buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot and 3 other important military objects of the enemy.

The Ministry of Defense of russia says that russia is returning to the grain agreement. The occupying country received written guarantees from Ukraine regarding the non-use of the grain corridor for conducting hostilities against the russian federation. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Ankara that the grain corridor for Ukrainian food exports will start working from noon on November 2, as it was before.

Enerhoatom reports that power supply in Enerhodar was restored. Ukrainian personnel restored heat and water supply, suspended after constant shelling of the Zaporizhzhia NPP by the russian occupiers. “Now employees of the Zaporizhzhia NPP continue to carry out work to restore heat supply in the city of Enerhodar. Currently, the water temperature is 51 degrees Celsius. This is not enough to provide Enerhodar with heat  and hot water supply in full. However, even this temperature makes it possible to protect the city’s utilities from damage in the event of cold weather,” says the message.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, Kupiansk, Dvorichna and 16 other settlements in Kharkiv oblast were shelled by the russian army. Border settlements, Vovchansk and Kupiansk were also attacked by the invaders. 

Russians shelled Vovchansk this morning. Four women and a man were wounded. Moreover, a 37-year old combine operator tripped a mine and blew up in the village of Oleksandrivka, Bohodukhiv region. All injured civilians were hospitalized. Medics estimate their condition as moderately grave. 

Mine threat in Kharkiv oblast remains. 

85% of residential houses, notably 13K households in Izium, Kharkiv oblast were provided with gas supply. Experts are still eliminating the consequences of gas network damages in the region. About 250 shrapnel damages of gas networks were repaired. 

Head of Kharkiv RMA Oleh Syniehubov reported that the invaders continue to terrorize civilians in cities and villages of Kharkiv oblast bordering the contact line and the russian federation.  

The cities of Kupiansk and Vovchansk and settlements of Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv oblasts have been shelled all day. 

Based on the verified data of the Regional Center for Emergency Medicine, 25 year old mother and her two kids, a girl aged 4 and a boy aged 6, were wounded in the village of Petropavlivka, Kupiansk region following the russian shelling. Medics estimate the mother’s condition as moderately grave, while the kids are in сritical condition.  

Furthermore, 76 year-old and 62 year-old men were wounded and hospitalized in Kupiansk region. A 70 year old man was wounded and hospitalized in Chuhuiv region. 

According to the deputy head of the President Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko, a three year-old boy was injured as a result of russian shelling on the village of Petropavlivka, Kupiansk region with multi rocket launchers on November 01. A kid was hospitalized.  

The liberated territories are cleared of mines. The pyrotechnic experts of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine neutralized 1216 explosives. 

The territory of Olkhov balka natural reserve located near the village of Velyki Prokhody, Derhachi region, was mined. According to its head Oleh Hryschenko, keepers can’t even check how animals survived occupation. As of February 24, there were 8 saiga antelopes, 54 mouflons there, 3 roe deers and 2 beavers were provided rehabilitation. Now the animals’ condition is unknown. 

According to the ceramics and glass restorer Svitlana Yekhanova, only 2 out of 9 Polovtsy stone babas on the mountain of Kremenets in Izium were not damaged during the russian occupation. One of the sculptures was completely destroyed as a result of explosion. She also added that currently the sculptures were winterized, the damaged one was taken away.

Donetsk oblast

According to the report of the General Staff, russian soldiers set up the hospital in the area of Zavitne Bazhannia, which is now overloaded with wounded russian occupiers. 

Starting from November 02, Donetsk locals can evacuate by taking the train to Ternopil region. 

Over 5.5 million UAH were allocated for the residents evacuated from Donetsk and other regions. Such payments will be made in mobile branches of Ukrposhta JSC at arrival station for evacuation trains in Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv and Ternopil oblasts. 

The enemy shelled 15 settlements with rocket systems, Grad MRLs, artillery and mortars, damaging and destroying 24 residential buildings.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians killed 4 civilians: 1 in Bakhmut, 1 in Kolodiazi and 1 in Torske. Law enforcers found 5 civilian bodies killed during the occupation in Rubtsi. Another 10 people were injured. 

At night russians targeted front lines from Avdiivka to Lyman.

In Donetsk direction, there was an explosion in Zhelanne, Ocheretyne community, partially damaging electricity supply. In the morning, the old part of Avdiivka was massively shelled with artillery. The consequences are being clarified. 

In Horlivka direction, Toretsk suffered the most. Overnight russians targeted the city hospital, damaged surgical department and maternity ward. Moreover, 3 private, 2 apartment, 1 administrative building and garage were damaged due to the shelling. 

There were isolated arrivals in Chasiv Yar and Soledar communities: 3 buildings in Paraskoviivka and at least 4 buildings in Chasiv Yar were damaged. No casualties were reported.  

In Lysychansk direction, shelling of Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community continues.The aftermath is being established.

Based on the information provided by the CIty Council, in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, invaders failed to prepare for the heating season. They provided residents with electric heaters and then broadcast the information that electric heaters cannot be used together with other appliances. 

Luhansk oblast

Head of the Luhansk OVA Serhii Haidai reports that in the temporarily occupied village of Komyshne, near Stanytsia Luhanska, the occupiers opened a temporary shelter for refugees who were not paid compensation for the destroyed housing. The occupiers paid money for the destroyed real estate to 38 residents of Sievierodonetsk and 100 residents of Rubizhne.

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 33 strikes on the enemy. 26 buildups of weapons and military equipment, as well as 7 positions of enemy anti-aircraft missile systems, were hit.

Ukrainian soldiers shot down a helicopter, 2 Orlan-10 UAVs, 6 Shahed-136 strike UAVs and 2 Kub UAVs.

Units of the rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 4 buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 3 ammunition depots and 6 other important enemy military targets.

The occupiers shelled Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nadiia, and Nevske in Kupiansk and Lyman directions using various types of weapons.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Oleksiy Kuleba, Head of the Kyiv RMA, has reported that the Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Albares visited Makariv. He witnessed the destruction caused by the russian army in the oblast. Together with the Minister, a Spanish group of criminologists came to Ukraine to assist in recording the crimes committed by the russian federation in our country.

According to the regional military administration, at night, fighter aircraft of the air defense and units defending the facilities on the outskirts of the capital destroyed 6 “Shahed” drones.

In Kyiv oblast, 16K houses remain without power supply after terrorist strikes launched by russia on energy facilities. The Kyiv RMA reported that the power supply will be restored to all consumers within a day.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that two Chechen commanders who were involved in planning the Kyiv oblast invasion  will be prosecuted in Ukraine. It was found that under the leadership of one of the accused, the Chechen military of the russian army attacked and seized the Borodianka psychoneurological boarding school. The patients and the staff of the medical institution were not allowed to leave, deprived of food and water. Another accused kept civilians in inhuman conditions in basements of houses in Hostomel and used them as a “human shield” to cover against the Ukrainian Armed Forces during hostilities.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, Head of the Kyiv RMA, there are 425 fallout shelters able to provide protection against radiation threat in Kyiv oblast. They are located underground, have two entrances and exits, as well as ventilation. In case of nuclear threat, fallout shelters will be equipped with radios.

More than 1K wood heating stoves will be provided to Kyiv oblast by the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine. As of now, 276 stoves have been delivered and will be distributed among Borodianka, Piskivka, Ivankiv, and Poliska territorial communities to satisfy their needs.

Anatolii Fedoruk, the Bucha mayor, said that the street where the russian military vehicle convoy was destroyed at the beginning of the full-scale war will be restored in Bucha. It is planned to rebuild 11 houses and restore 20 more within the Vokzalna street project. The project is implemented by the American organization GEM with the financial support of the Howard Buffett Foundation (HGBF).

The Kyiv City State Administration reports that a specialized center will be opened in Kyiv to work with children who suffered from violence or witnessed such crimes. Besides, there will be a health care center where medical examinations for forensic medicine will be carried out and therapeutic care provided.

An installation assembled from bricks and stones of destroyed buildings in Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts was created by activists of Repair Together and Kinburnlife in cooperation with the Harms Kyiv institution. According to the event organizers, the purpose of the installation is to urge Ukrainians to financially support restoration and protection of nature, as well as participate in volunteer projects and donations.

Zhytomyr oblast

Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn reported that a plan for saving electricity has been developed for Zhytomyr which will be applied if necessary. This plan includes various measures such as reduction of water supply pressure, cut-offs in certain areas of the city, as well as changes in the work schedule of institutions and organizations. Also, there are plans to purchase generators for critical infrastructure facilities and stockpile fuel.

Transport cards for IDPs will be purchased in the city. The Zhytomyr City Council allocated UAH 350K  from the local budget. Almost 10K cards are planned to be purchased.

7 heating points, called Points of Resilience, will be arranged in Berdychiv. The city council reported that these points will be located mostly in educational institutions where people will be able to find protection in case of emergency, get warm drinks and food, have free internet connection, recharge mobile phones, and receive first aid.

Sumy oblast

In the last 24 hours, enemy shelling was reported in Velyka Pysarivka, Myropillia, Yunakivka, Hlukhiv, Shalyhine, Nova Sloboda, Esman, and Znob-Novhorod communities of Sumy oblast. As reported by the State Border Guard Service, the enemy opened fire with mortars, UAVs, as well as barrel and rocket artillery. Overall, there were more than 100 strikes.

As a result of shelling of the Nova Sloboda community, one man was injured, two houses damaged, and livestock killed. A power grid was damaged in the Yunakivka community.

At night and in the morning, russians carried out 7 attacks on 5 border communities of the oblast – there were more than 30 explosions and shots from small arms. According to Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the enemy fired at Myropillia, Esman, Znob-Novhorod, Shalyhine, and Esman communities.

According to the ‘Sumy’ Operational and Tactical Group, the situation in the oblast is stable and under control. The enemy launches provocative attacks but meets a fierce response from Ukrainian defenders. There are no signs of massing of military units or groups in the northern direction.

The restoration of facilities damaged due to the russian aggression continues in Sumy oblast. Windows worth UAH 3.3 million were purchased to repair damaged houses in the Sumy community. It is planned to restore 5 high-rise buildings in Okhtyrka at the expense of the local budget. Major repairs are currently underway in three of them.

Seven autonomous petrol generators were delivered to Hlukhiv by the International Committee of the Red Cross. The equipment will be distributed among rural outpatient clinics and obstetric centers, which will make it possible to provide assistance to people even in case of damage to the central power supply by russian terrorists.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that border communities of Chernihiv oblast once again were under enemy fire. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched mortar attacks on the territories of Horodnia and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities. In total, there were 18 explosions. Enemy UAVs dropped 2 explosive devices on the territory of the Semenivka community.

Head of the regional military administration Viacheslav Chaus has informed that 78 unemployed people were engaged in community service as part of the government initiative Restoration Army in Chernihiv oblast. It is planned to involve more than 200 more clients of the employment service in such works in November.

Reconstruction of the Chernihiv Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children continues in the regional center. More than UAH 3 million was allocated from the state reserve fund for its reconstruction and arrangement of the shelter. As of now, 30 wards of the institution, who were evacuated in March, reside in a health resort in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

The overhaul of the building at 15 Chornovil street in Chernihiv is at the final stage. Repairs are underway in three entrances that were damaged as a result of the russian airstrike. In total, over UAH 210 million was allocated from the city budget for overhaul repairs of more than 100 apartment buildings damaged by the russian army and current repairs of almost 700 buildings.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, Ukrainian defenders shot down 6 enemy kamikaze drones over the region. It was the most massive enemy drone attack on the oblast during the full-scale war. Late in the evening, the occupiers struck Nikopol from MRLS.

In the morning, the russians struck the Chervonohryhorivka community in the Nikopol region. 

Vinnytsia oblast

The all-wheel-drive Mitsubishi SUV was sent to the front line by gas workers of Vinnytsia. The car was purchased thanks to gas consumers. Since mid-August, 880 consumers of the JSC Vinnytsiahaz have been buying gas equipment and accessories as part of the Cars for the Armed Forces campaign. More than UAH 67K was collected.

Kira Korol, a 10-year-old girl from Vinnytsia, makes blue and yellow thread dolls . Several of them were handed over to Ukrainian defenders on the front line and a military hospital by volunteers. Today, Kira sells the dolls to raise money for the needs of the Armed Forces.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, children with disabilities and their parents make trench candles for Ukrainian soldiers. The NGO Mother’s Heart produces and sends thousands of candles to the front line.

Poltava oblast

The Sumy Operational Tactical Group informed that 3 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones were shut down in Poltava oblast at midnight. 

Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, announced that 400 stoves were handed over to the military. This is the first batch. 800 more stoves will be produced and delivered soon. About 15 local businesses helped with materials and production of stoves that keep our soldiers at the front warm.

Cherkasy oblast

 Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets informed that Air defense forces shot down two Shahid drones at night in Cherkasy. Another drone hit an infrastructure object. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the RMA, towards Zaporizhia, the situation has not significantly changed, the enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied positions. 

The region police received 38 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure. The enemy shelled Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Nikolske, Mali Shcherbaky, Pavlivka, Malynivka, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Novoandriivka, Dorozhnianka, Olhivske, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka. The russian aggressors attacked with heavy artillery and MLRS the homes of residents of Orikhiv and Huliaipole, as well as on the villages of the district. According to the State Emergency Service, due to the constant shelling of the russian army, Orikhiv has been destroyed by 70%.

Civilians were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. 212 people were evacuated, including 36 children.

SES pyrotechnicians found 1 combat element and 1 unit of safe remnants of the S-300 air defense system, 7 units of remnants of Grad multiple launch rocket system and 2 cluster munitions in the settlements of Zaporizhzhia and Polohy regions. For humanitarian demining and assistance, 48 rescuers and 14 pieces of equipment were involved. Also, rescuers transported 10 tons of technical water to Huliaipole.

Mayor Ivan Fedorov states that the russians illegally deported 300 Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied Enerhodar and Kamianka to the regions of russia and Crimea and did not return them to their parents. In addition, the occupiers are trying to deport children from Melitopol. 

According to the mayor, the occupiers terrorize the Ukrainian population through military censorship, checking phones for pro-Ukrainian content. Due to faulty construction of the gas pipeline by the occupiers, a gas pipe explosion occurred in Berdiansk. The russians are carrying out forced mobilization, 8K people have been involved. The occupiers search children’s personal belongings in schools, do not let them out during breaks, and do not allow parents to enter school buildings. In addition, the enterprises of Melitopol were illegally appropriated. Looting also continues on the territory of the region: equipment is taken from more than 450 recreation centers in Kyrylivka.

The occupiers started illegal construction near the used nuclear fuel storage at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine found a violation of nuclear and radiation safety standards at the site of the dry storage of used nuclear fuel, which is one of seven nuclear installations at the NPP. This is unauthorized construction by the russian occupiers and the denial of the ZNPP personnel to access the place where the construction is conducted.

Enerhoatom conducted a preliminary analysis of the consequences of the Zaporizhzhia NPP occupation. According to its results, as of November 1, 2022, the total value of property and infrastructure of the Zaporizhzhia NPP destroyed and damaged by the occupiers exceeds UAH 28 billion, which is approximately $690 billion. The final amount of losses and damages inflicted by russia on the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be determined after de-occupation and a full inspection and inventory of the property.

Enerhoatom reports that thanks to Ukrainian personnel, the Zaporizhzhia NPP started supplying heat to Enerhodar. Hot water was provided in residential buildings. This became possible after the transfer of two blocks of the station to the hot shutdown state. Currently, water temperature is 51 degrees Celsius, but this is not enough to provide heat and hot water in full. However, even this temperature makes it possible to protect the city’s utility networks from damage in case of cold weather. Since May, the city’s heat and water supply has been provided by the Zaporizhzhia NPP, not the Zaporizhzhia TPP, stopped due to the terrorist actions of the russian occupiers.

Mykolaiv oblast

The enemy attacked an agricultural enterprise in Shevchenkove community, and two settlements in Halytsyniv community with cluster shells. One person was injured. According to the head of the military administration, detailed information about destruction and victims is being clarified. As a result of enemy shelling, residential buildings in Pervomaisk and Shyroke communities were also damaged. The house caught fire. The previously destroyed buildings were hit. Bereznehuvate community is also being shelled. The information on damage is being clarified. Vladyslav Nazarov, the spokesman of the “South” OC also reported that the russian army used “Lancet” kamikaze attack drones in Mykolaiv district, Mykolaiv oblast.

In total, there are 356 citizens in Mykolaiv hospitals who suffered from the occupiers’ attacks on Mykolaiv oblast. The head of the regional council, Hanna Zamazeyeva, said that another 52 victims were treated on an outpatient basis.

Danish companies are helping Mykolaiv oblast to restore heat and water supply. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine reports about it. In the near future,  Danish partners plan to send 13 pumps and 25 reverse osmosis systems. Also, a batch of construction materials arrived from Denmark to Mykolaiv covered by the funds for emergency reconstruction in wartime conditions. These are OSB plates, nails, electric circular saws, perforators and other materials for emergency repairs of heating and water supply systems.

Odesa oblast

The russian ship with Kalibr missiles returned to combat duty in the Black Sea. This was reported by the “South” OC. There is one surface missile carrier equipped with 8 Calibers among the ten ships maneuvering near the Crimean coast.

Air defense forces shot down 3 russian Kh-59 missiles over the sea directed at Odesa oblast. According to the military, the russians tried to attack the south of the region with Su-30 aircraft from the Black Sea direction.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov announced that 8 ships with agricultural products should arrive at the ports of Odesa within the “grain corridor”. The russian side also resumed official participation in the agreement. In general, the “Grain Corridor” ensured the export of 162 415 tons of grain cargoes. According to the state enterprise Port Iuzhnyi 86 500 tons of export grain cargoes were processed in October .

Odesa municipality has identified 141 places for setting up stationary heating points in 67 warehouses, 68 educational institutions, as well as mobile heating points. Odesa Mayor Gennadii Trukhanov said this at a meeting with the heads of condominiums. Miskzelentrest company has already prepared 400 cubic meters of firewood.

Kherson oblast

The police recorded war crimes committed by the russian army in the settlements of Kherson oblast liberated from the russian occupation. About 200K US dollars loss were caused to the enterprise due to this robbery. In addition, the company has five more branches in the temporarily occupied territories, which are also gradually being looted by the invaders.

Yanushevich also presented the “Interactive map of destruction in the agricultural sector of Ukraine”. According to his data, in general, Kherson oblast provided 3.5% of the national volume of grain cultivation and took the first place in Ukraine in rice cultivation. The region was a leader in harvesting fruit and vegetable and melon crops, which were also exported, for 10 years. But currently 70% of agricultural land in the region needs demining, and 60% of agricultural enterprises have been destroyed due to the occupation by russian troops.

The head of the RMA confirmed the information that russian occupiers carried out forced deportation in Nova Kakhovka along the banks of the Dnipro, and engineering fortifications and mine-explosive barricades were placed near the houses, where the russian military is settled. The russian army shuts down shops and hospitals in front-line settlements. Russians steal ambulances, equipment and medicines from medical facilities in Hola Prystan. According to Ianushevych, the doctors refused from “evacuation” announced by the aggressors, but there are currently no conditions and equipment to provide medical assistance to residents. Since November 4, the occupiers are threatening to close the market, and then the grocery stores.

The russian military looted the Albin Havdzynskyi art gallery in Nova Kakhovka. This was reported by the Novo Kakhovka city council. Paintings, graphics, and sculptures were taken out en masse from the art gallery. International partners sent humanitarian aid to 13 communities of the Kolomyia region. Namely, canned meat (9 pallets), sugar (21 pallets), pasta (12 pallets), flour (9 pallets), blankets (10 pallets), diapers (2 pallets), sanitary and hygiene products (4 pallets ).

Lviv oblast

IDPs in Lviv are invited to take a survey on housing needs. The survey takes place within the framework of the New European Bauhaus Modular Refugee Settlement project. The purpose of which is to facilitate a comfortable living environment for IDPs.

350 laptops will be provided to vocational and technical institutes of Lviv oblast for providing high-quality online education. The total cost of laptops is UAH 4.5 million. This equipment was donated by the public organization Junior Achievement Ukraine, to support Ukrainian youth and the educational process during full-scale war. The laptops were provided by the Microsoft-licensed HP company established by Avanade. UPS assisted in delivering this aid to Ukraine.

The Lviv City Hall purchased and sent 2 jeeps for the military. The cars were sent as part of the city’s program aimed at purchasing 30 cars for Ukrainian defenders.

The Drohobych Region Military Administration sent 3 cars as part of the 1K Cars of Freedom initiative. Two SUVs went to the front line and an ambulance helped Ukrainian doctors save lives.The CF KOLO and the Anticorruption Security Association participated in the transfer of the cars.

Mayor of the city of Stryi, Oleh Kanivets, presented Ukrainian defender Andrii Korynevych with the award For Honor and Courage of the City of Stryi. After the defense of Azovstal in Mariupol and another four months of russian captivity, the hero returned to his native city of Stryi.

1,5K IDPs took part in the project Travel in Lviv Oblast. Second Home History. Travels to tourist locations of Lviv oblast continued for two months. During this time, there were 23 trips to Lviv, Tustan, Krehov and Zvenyhorod. The project was initiated by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Lviv oblast together with the Maltese Aid Service.

Rivne oblast

Head of the Rivne RMA, Vitalii Koval, announced that the heating season started in 40 communities of Rivne oblast. In the regional center, heat will be supplied to houses on November 3.

Territorial communities and the military will be able to involve residents in performing work that is needed in their territory. For this, the registered unemployed will receive a minimum salary of UAH 6,7K which exceeds unemployment payments.

Ternopil oblast

An artist from Kharkiv, who found temporary shelter in Kozov, created a sculpture in the form of two palms emerging from the ground as a gift to the city. It was installed on an island near the Koropets River. The “tree of life”, the viburnum as a symbol of Ukraine, was planted between the palms.

The RMA reported that 32 communities in Ternopil oblast have already started the heating season.

The Ternopil City Council informed that on November 4, the heating season will begin in the city.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The geriatric boarding house received assistance for its wards from the headquarters of the Khmelnytskyi RMA. Employees of the headquarters sent means of personal hygiene in support of war and labour veterans. In addition to permanent residents, the boarding house currently hosts people who were forced to leave their homes due to war in the country.

Chernivtsi oblast

During a meeting of the Regional Operational Headquarters, dedicated to preparation for the autumn-winter period, it was decided to create a Headquarters in Bukovina to coordinate the operation of heating points and provide assistance to the population.

496 laptops were given to educational institutions in Bukovyna. This became possible thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Google and the UNESCO.

The Cultural and artistic center reported that a month of European cinema will be held in Chernivtsi. It will be held in cooperation with the Odesa International Film Festival. The screening of films starts on November 4 and will last until December 29.  

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Since February, Ukraine has received over €41 billion in military aid. Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland provided the largest aid in relation to their own military expenditures.

The US allocated $55 million for heat supply infrastructure in Ukraine and $47.6 million for demining. The US State Department noted that the aid includes sending over 1,6K generators, water treatment systems and other heating equipment.

The EU will provide €25.5 million to meet Ukraine’s urgent energy needs.

Spain has prepared a new military aid package for Ukraine. Namely, a battery of the Aspide anti-aircraft missile complex and its missiles, four Hawk air defense systems, anti-tank missile systems, guns and shells for them, 30 ambulances and generators for powering hospitals.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, the EU and Cooperation of Spain, Jose Manuel Albarez Bueno, announced that experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Spain came to Kyiv to prepare an investigation into russian war crimes. 

Britain sent over 195k sets of winter uniforms to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Besides, Ukrainian fighters will receive first aid kits and protection elements.

Germany will provide Ukraine with 500 cars for border patrolling, 22 of them have already arrived in Ukraine It is reported in the updated list of military aid published on the website of the German government.

The European Commission together with the Energy Community of the EU (ENTSO-E) created the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.

About 70 Norwegian instructors continue to train the Ukrainian military. Instructors of the Rapid Response Forces, from the mechanized battalion Telemark of the Nord brigade of the Land Forces of the Norwegian Armed Forces were involved in the training. 10K military personnel will undergo training this fall. Another 19K are planned to be trained next year, when instructors from the Norwegian National Guard will also take over part of the training.

The British instructors conducted a practical class on demining for NSU soldiers. During the training, the fighters learned how to detect landmines, recognize explosive objects and provide first aid.

The United Kingdom confirmed that since the war began, it has been helping Kyiv repel russian cyberattacks. Primarily, the UK helped Ukrainian government agencies defend against hackers, restricted access to vital networks and critical infrastructure, and supplied advanced hardware and software to support cyber security, such as firewalls.

Minister of Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, reported that ships under the Turkish flag will continue to export agricultural products from Ukraine, despite the suspension of russia’s participation in the grain agreement.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) delivered to Ukraine over 700K doses of the vaccine to  prevent diphtheria and tetanus with reduced antigen content (ADP-M), which is used for children after 6 years and adults.

Britain imposed sanctions against four russian oligarchs for financing the war.

Cyprus cancels free visas for russians. From December 1, visas will cost €80 for adults and €40 for children.

In Britain, a lawsuit was filed against prigozhin and wagner for terrorism in Ukraine. The lawsuit was announced on Tuesday in the House of Commons. In Britain, it is expected that similar processes against prigozhin and wagner may begin in other countries as well.
