War in Ukraine today: latest news, May 29, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 460th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation conducted two massive missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, using Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. According to updated information, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 36 of 40 cruise missiles and 30 of 38 strike UAVs. In the afternoon, the enemy used cruise and ballistic missiles from the Iskander tactical missile system against civilian and critical infrastructure in Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 11 of the 11 missiles. 

In total, during this day, the russian army carried out 53 air strikes and fired about 20 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties, private residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure have been damaged.

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on trying to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. Over the course of the day, defense forces repelled 20 enemy attacks. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation remains stable, with no signs of offensive groups forming. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. There was an airstrike near Mylove, Kharkiv oblast. There were also mortar and artillery attacks on the settlements of Seredyno-Buda, Pavlivka, Katerynivka, Shevchenkove, Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy oblast, as well as Udy, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Ternova, Izbytske, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Pletenivka, Tykhy, Vovchanski Khutory, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarky, Zemlianky, Chuhunivka in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensives near Masiutivka in Kharkiv oblast. Kolodiazne, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Masiutivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Kyslivka, Hlushkivka, Berestove, Bohuslavka in Kharkiv oblast came under artillery and mortar fire from the enemy.

Towards Lyman, the russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions. There were airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Spirne in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. There was an air strike near Toretsk, Donetsk oblast. Vasiukivka, Kramatorsk, Tikhonivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechine, Bila Hora, Zalizne and Niu York in Donetsk oblast were affected by shelling.

The russian invaders did not conduct any offensive towards Avdiivka. 

There were airstrikes in the areas of Avdiivka and Vodiane, Donetsk oblast. Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka in Donetsk oblast were shelled with artillery.

Towards Marinka, our defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Mariinka. The russian forces launched an airstrike near Heorhiivka. At the same time, Marinka and Heorhiivka in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the russian military conducted airstrikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Prechystivka. They shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Shakhtarske.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army continues to conduct defensive actions. There were airstrikes near Huliaipole and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Vremivka, Zelene Pole, Novopil in Donetsk oblast; Olhivske, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka and Stepnohrysk in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Kachkarivka, Mylove, Kozatske, Burhunka, Lviv, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Dniprovske, Kizomys in Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson were shelled.

Russian occupants continue to rob civilians. For example, in the temporarily occupied Svatove, Luhansk oblast, farmers who cannot provide some documents for their property rights due to the owner’s departure are simply taken away from their combines, trucks and other expensive equipment.

Aviation of the defense forces conducted 15 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel and military equipment. 

Rocket and artillery units hit 3 buildups of weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, 3 air defense facilities and 3 other important enemy targets.


Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov informs that Ukraine’s Armed Forces use long-range Storm Shadow missiles with 100% effectiveness. 

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak says that the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of draft law No. 9278. From now on, May 8 is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism. This date will be an official day off.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the russian army conducted an airstrike in the area of Mylove in Kharkiv oblast. At least 30 settlements came under mortar and artillery fire.

Yevhen Vasylenko, Spokesman for the regional office of the State Emergency Service said that the russians launched a missile attack, preliminarily with an Iskander missile, on the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk region. Nine wounded are currently known, including a 15-year-old teenager. A dormitory building, two private houses and a gas pipeline were damaged in the village. According to the prosecutor’s office, the russian federation struck with a KAB-250 guided missile. The shelling caused two fires in high-rise buildings.

The village of Hlushkivka in Kupiansk region was also shelled. A 60-year-old woman sustained shrapnel wounds.

On May 28, the russian occupiers continued to terrorize the civilian population of Kharkiv oblast. Settlements of Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Izium regions were under fire.

Last night around 0:30 in the village of Bohuslavka, Izium region, a residential building was damaged as a result of artillery shelling. A 49-year-old civilian man was injured.

In the village of Petropavlivka, Kupiansk region, a private household was damaged by shelling. Two outbuildings were burning.

A 73-year-old woman was wounded as a result of artillery shelling in Kucherivka village of Kupiansk region.

In Kupyansk, shelling damaged a residential building and a car.

In Dementiivka, Derhachiv community, a department of the State Border Guard Service erected a memorial to border guards who were killed while performing a combat mission in the village.

Despite the difficulties and thanks to the professional actions of the SES pyrotechnics and Kharkivoblenergo specialists, residents of Cherkaski Tyshky received electricity in their homes. The enemy destroyed almost 90% of the power grid in this settlement, destroying 14 transformer substations out of 17, almost all the poles and spans of power lines. In addition, the approaches to the power lines were densely mined.

As of May 29, 89 more settlements in the oblast remain without power supply.

Donetsk oblast

2 people were killed and 8 injured in the attack on Toretsk. At 11:30 am, the russian forces attacked the city twice with high-explosive aircraft bombs (FAB-250). A gas station and a multi-story building were damaged.

On May 28, russians attacked the outskirts of Kramatorsk, causing no casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, there were 22 artillery attacks and 4 airstrikes in Vuhledar. Prechystivka, Shevchenko and Burlatske in Komarska community came under fire.

Towards Donetsk, the russian military launched an airstrike on Avdiivka at night, and in the morning fired with artillery and Grad. The shells hit both the residential sector and the industrial area. In Kurakhove, 16 private houses were damaged.

Towards Horlivka, 3 houses were damaged in Toretsk, and 4 private houses and 1 multi-storey building damaged in Chasiv Yar community. 

Towards Lysychansk, a house was damaged in Yampol of Lyman community.

There were no reports of casualties or injuries over the day.

The Mariupol City Council reported that russian occupiers stole a 3-month-old tiger cub from Mariupol’s zoo. Now it will be trained for a Moscow circus.

UAnimals reported that the Ukrainian military rescued a deer near Lyman in Donetsk oblast. The animal was handed over to volunteers, who will take it to the Wildlife Rescue Center.

Luhansk oblast

In recent months, the russians have been slightly reducing their infantry activity at the end of the week. But this does not affect the work of their aviation and artillery. Despite the absence of offensive actions, the russians continue to open fire on our villages and positions of the Armed Forces. They are using aviation to strike at Bilohorivka. Ukrainian defenders are giving a worthy response and bravely holding the line.

On May 28, Nevske and Bilohorivka came under artillery fire.

Luhansk Military Administration reported that the lpr notes extremely low rates of passportization among the elderly. To increase these figures, mobile teams and volunteers have been deployed to provide targeted assistance in processing all necessary documents.

Only 25 % of the lpr residents have applied for pension reconsideration under russian law, as this requires a russian passport with a registration stamp.

russian builders are no longer interested in coming to Sievierodonetsk, as they have already checked and looted most of the apartments many times. That’s why less skilled russians are coming to the city, who are not able to draw up estimates and defective acts. Now they are looking for appropriate specialists from the locals.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the night of May 29, Kyiv was attacked by UAVs and Kh-101/555 missiles. Kyiv City Military Administration reported that Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed more than 40 air targets. In Podilskyi district, missile wreckage pierced the roof of a residential building and caused a fire.

6 hours after the night attack, the enemy fired 11 Iskander ballistic and cruise missiles at Kyiv oblast. Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that air defense forces destroyed all targets. According to him, after prolonged nighttime attacks, the terrorist country attacked our city in the daytime, when most residents were at work and on the streets.

Missile wreckage fell in Obolon, Desnianskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital. Kyiv City State Administration reported that one wounded person was taken to a hospital in Podilskyi district. Trolleybus traffic was suspended in Kyiv due to the fall of a russian missile fragment.

Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities in several communities in Kyiv oblast are damaged as a result of a russian air attack. According to Andrii Nebytov, Head of the regional police, in some areas in the capital, grass flooring and parts of forest areas caught fire. Police are identifying locations where the fragment of enemy air targets fell and recording the consequences of the attack.

Last night, more than 9 K people, including 1,120 children, were sheltering from the enemy attack in Kyiv metro stations. According to Kyiv City State Administration, this is the largest number of people taking shelter at the stations at night during this month. During the daytime attack on the capital, more than 41 K people were sheltering in the subway.

For two days, Kyiv rescuers have been dismantling the damaged structures of a high-rise building in Pechersk district that suffered from an enemy attack on the night of May 28. The Kyiv Rescue Service employed 7 rescuers and a crane.

On May 26, the Stalevi Charitable Foundation established on the initiative of Serhii Volynsky was launched in Kyiv to help marines serving at the frontline, as well as wounded soldiers, POWs and their families. Volynskyi was in command of a marine unit during the defense of Mariupol and became known in Ukraine and the world for his appeals to world leaders. He himself could not attend the opening of the fund, since he is in Turkey with other commanders who were in charge of the defense of Azovstal

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr, as a result of a drone attack on May 28, residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged. Serhii Sukhomlyn, Mayor of Zhytomyr, reported that more than 30 residential buildings, 2 hospitals, 13 boiler houses, 3 facilities of Zhytomyr Vodokanal, and 12 educational institutions were damaged. 

According to Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, reconstruction of the facilities damaged by russian bombardment continues. Another UAH 15 million is expected to be allocated from the regional budget to eliminate the consequences of shelling. Materials such as slate, foil, nails and lumber required for repairs are being allocated to the affected communities.

The Central Regional Center of the Coordination Headquarters held an on-site meeting with families of captured and missing servicemen in Zhytomyr. During the meeting, the confirmation of captivity status and registration of the defenders in the register of the National Information Bureau were discussed. Also, the families were informed of actions that could negatively affect the exchange process of POWs.

The city council reported that a volunteer fair was held in Korosten as part of the City Day celebration. The event raised more than UAH 110 K to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sumy oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command on May 28, in the afternoon, the enemy shelled Znob-Novhorodake community of Shostka region. There were 5 shells, fired from barrel artillery. Also, the villages of Shostka region were shelled: Nova Vasylkivka – 5 shells from barrel artillery, and Khodyne village – 3 shells, probably fired from mortars. Later, 2 shells from barrel artillery were recorded in the city of Hlukhiv. An artillery shell hit a school stadium, and fragments of the munition damaged the wall of the school.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy continues to shell the territory of Sumy oblast: at night and in the morning, Hlukhiv, Seredyno-Buda, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine, and Bilopillia communities came under fire. Two apartment buildings, a school stadium, and a car were damaged in Hlukhiv community. A private house and a household gas pipeline were damaged by mortar shelling in Seredyno-Buda region.

Sumyoblenergo reported that in Sumy oblast, around 1 K consumers were left without electricity due to russian shelling. A number of residents of Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putivl, and Hlukhiv communities were cut off from electricity.

Trostyanets hospital received modern equipment as a donation. The German Society for International Cooperation provided assistance by donating equipment worth EUR 290 K to the medical institution, including an operating table, diagnostic devices, etc.

Transport connection between Popivka and Velyka Pysarivka, destroyed by russian military shelling last week, was restored by the community in two days.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the enemy shelled the villages of Semenivka community. In Tymonovychi village, there were 9 shells according to the preliminary information from barrel artillery. There were 14 mortar bombs fired at Karpovychi, 5 bombs – at Zaliznyi Mist, and 15 bombs – at Halahanivka. 3 artillery shells exploded in the village of Huta-Studenetska of Snovsk community, and the same number of bombs exploded in Murayi village of Novhorod-Siversk region.

Chernihiv City Council reported that the reconstruction of a multi-storey building that suffered about 30 enemy shells is being completed in Chernihiv. In total, there are 875 apartment buildings damaged by the enemy in the capital of the oblast, of which 146 have been significantly damaged.

In Chernihiv, a bicycle ride raised UAH 18 K for Ukrainian defenders. The event, which was attended by civilians, the military, and law enforcement officials, was organized by the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration together with the  Velo Che NGO. The funds will be used for the needs of the 1st Separate Tank Brigade.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The russian forces struck the Dnipro Oblast. Pokrovsk community of Sinelnykove region suffered a missile attack. One person was killed and ten others sustained injuries of varying severity. The missiles destroyed a number of residential buildings in the community.

In June 2023, safe children’s spaces will be opened in Kryvyi Rih with the support of the German government. They will be function from 8:00 to 16:00. Children will be under the supervision of qualified professionals while their parents are at work.

Last weekend, a fountain damaged during a missile attack on the city on 9 July 2022 was repaired in Ingulets residential area in Kryvyi Rih.  The structure was heavily damaged by an S-300 missile attack.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ A memorial plaque in honour of a fallen Ukrainian border guard, Junior Sergeant Yaroslav Tchaikovskyi, was unveiled in the village of Obukhiv, Vinnytsia oblast. It was placed on the building of the school where he had studied. Yaroslav was killed on 25 May 2022 while performing a combat mission. He was 20 years old. The serviceman was posthumously awarded the For Courage Order of the III degree.

Kirovohrad oblast

On the night of 28-29 May, the debris of a downed drone damaged 8 houses in Novoukrainka region of Kirovohrad oblast, one of which is not repairable. One of the houses was badly damaged, with the garage and outbuildings in the yard completely destroyed. The railway in the  region was also damaged.

Poltava oblast

On May 28, Ukrainian Air Defence forces shot down two missiles and a drone over Poltava oblast. Without damage.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy received a new vehicle within the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) project. A mobile team will provide social and psychological assistance to victims of abuse. This was made possible with the financial support of the Danish government in cooperation with the Innovative Social Solutions NGO.  The vehicle has 8 seats and is equipped with a lift for people with disabilities.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On May 29, approximately there were 12 explosions in the temporarily occupied city of Polohy, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Ukrainian defenders targeted the locations of russian troops. According to Mayor Yurii Konovalenko, the strikes were aimed at buildups of enemy equipment and personnel.

During May 27-28, the russian military once again attacked Polohy region, using aviation and drones. They shelled Stepnohirsk and villages on the outskirts of the city with multiple rocket launchers and artillery. Four people were injured as a result of the shelling. Apartments in high-rise buildings, private houses, agricultural buildings, and local residents’ vehicles were damaged. Additionally, On May 28, the russians shelled Orikhiv, causing destruction to houses of local residents.

On May 28, the enemy launched 93 strikes on 20 peaceful settlements: artillery shelling on Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Kamianske, and surrounding villages, multiple rocket launcher strikes on Stepnohirsk, Malynivka, Temyrivka, and a drone attack on Olhivske. There were new cases of destruction of private houses and other property.

Ivan Fedorov Mayor of Melitopol, reported that new russian trenches appeared on the outskirts of Melitopol, near the forest park and the anti-tuberculosis medical facility. The occupiers are also bringing wood to the city. He also revealed that the russians are hiding equipment and military personnel in the territory of Bohatyrsk forest region.

the Center for National Resistance reported that the russian military personnel are demanding that high school students in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast obtain russian documents. 

According to Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, the russians are forcing farmers to keep electronic records of grain and processed products, preventing them from independently disposing of their harvest.

The кussians continue to plunder the cultural treasures of Ukraine. Now they have transported exhibits from the Kamiana Mohyla Reserve in Zaporizhzhia oblast to the temporarily occupied Crimea. Kamiana Mohyla is a world heritage site of ancient culture in Ukraine, near Melitopol. Since 2006, the reserve has been a candidate for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the Crimean museum-reserve “Chersonesus Taurica,” the occupiers have opened an exhibition with 120 archaeological artifacts taken from Kamiana Mohyla.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of May 29, russia once again attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones. As reported by Mykolaiv RMA, the air defense forces shot down three Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones in Mykolaiv oblast.

On May 28, and early morning of May 29, the enemy shelled populated areas in Mykolaiv oblast. The town of Ochakiv, the waters of Ochakiv community, and non-residential areas of Kutsurub community were targeted. Today, enemy shells fell outside the village of Snihurivka in Bashtanka region. According to Mykolaiv RMA, there have been no casualties or damage reported.

In Mykolaiv, volunteers are auctioning off items donated by Ukrainian soldiers from the battlefield and de-occupied areas. The items include fragments of rotor blades, tubes from anti-tank missile systems, uniforms, and ammunition belonging to the russian army. The money from the sales is donated to the Defense Forces. The auctions were initiated several months ago. Equipment and ammunition have already been purchased for the Ukrainian military.

The public organization Ukrainian Women’s Battalion has launched a social-psychological project called Woman’s Voice, where every Ukrainian woman can share her story of war. The project aims to document russian war crimes on Ukrainian territory and provide psychological assistance to affected women if needed. The organization collaborates with qualified psychologists who offer support 24/7, free of charge, and anonymously.

Rescuers in Mykolaiv presented the book “Extraordinary. Mykolaiv, a bastion protecting Southern Ukraine!” This is a joint work of the press service and a web developer of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast, as well as a translator from the Mykolaiv National University named after V.O. Odesa oblast

On the night of May 28 to 29 there was a four-hour air raid alarm and a stealthy attack by the enemy using Shakhed drones. One Iranian kamikaze drone was eliminated by the air defense forces over the oblast. However, the port infrastructure of Odesa suffered damage as a result of the aerial combat, causing a fire by falling debris. The fire was promptly extinguished, but information about the extent of the destruction is still being clarified.  According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, in the morning the enemy deployed two small missile ships on combat duty, armed with up to sixteen Kalibr missiles.

Chris Manson, Vice President of HealthCare,  delivered a Freightliner ambulance to Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. It is equipped with modern medical equipment intended for rapid transportation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield. As a bonus, before sending the vehicle to Ukraine, American partners loaded it with necessary medicines, supplies, and even backpacks for paramedics. This event took place within the framework of the well-known project US Ambulance for Ukraine.

Kherson oblast

Today, the enemy attacked Zolota Balka. A private house and outbuildings were damaged. A 61-year-old man was killed in his own house as a result of the shelling of Kozatske village in Nova Kakhovka community.

On May 28, russian occupiers shelled peaceful settlements in Kherson oblast 61 times, firing 300 shells from artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars, tanks, drones, and aircraft. Kherson city was attacked 6 times, with 26 shells fired at the city. russian forces targeted residential areas of settlements, as well as the territory and the building of a hospital and a factory in Beryslav region. One person was injured. Over the past two days, the police opened 14 criminal cases regarding war crimes committed by the russian army in Kherson oblast.

A mobile concrete shelter has been set up in a crowded area in Osokorivka. Currently, seven such protective structures have been installed in Beryslav region, with plans to install three more in the near future.

The press service of Khersonhaz company  reported that All settlements in Velyka Oleksandrivka and the majority of Vysokopillia community have been connected to the gas network. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Since the war began 77 651 displaced persons have arrived in Volyn oblast, 93 of them within the past two weeks. Currently, there are 52 778 IDPs in the oblast. This amounts to 37 778 families, in which 15 363 are children. Among internally displaced persons, there are 2 236 people with disabilities, 7 373 pensioners, 91 families with many children, 8 single-parent families.

Zakarpattia oblast

Servicemen of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade took part in the Running under Chestnuts sports charity project. Defenders in the combat zone covered a distance of about 2 km in full equipment: in helmets and bulletproof vests. The collected funds will go to help the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Children’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, which is located in Kyiv.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that among the 106 Ukrainians who returned home as part of the next exchange of prisoners of war, there is a military serviceman from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – Mykhailo Havrysh.

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council held a meeting with Pier Francesco Dzadzo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine. Help and cooperation were discussed.

Lviv oblast

The previous night, the enemy fired a rocket at Lviv oblast. Defenders from the West Air Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to shoot it down over Zolochiv region. Debris fell on a wooden farm building, burning it down. A nearby tractor also burned down. There are no casualties. A gap appeared at the place where the debris fell.

Artemii Dymyd from Lviv received the 3th degree For Courage Order (posthumously). The son of the icon painter Ivanka Dymyd-Krypiakevich and the first rector of UCU Father Mykhailo Dymyd, a senior sailor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was killed in June of last year during mortar fire.

The RMA reported that a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in the village of Zhovtansi. During the concert, UAH 35K was collected.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, people began to submit applications to Diia for damaged housing. Over 200 objects located in twelve communities were damaged as a result of rocket attacks in Rivne oblast. Of them, 126 are residential. The majority, namely 123, were quickly restored by the joint efforts of the authorities, businesses and partners.

Ternopil oblast

Volunteers of Army Aid from Ternopil delivered parcels, including tactical and medical backpacks, camouflage nets, uniforms, shoes, night vision devices, military first-aid kits, food, spare parts for cars, parcels for defenders from relatives etc., to soldiers on the front line.

106 Ukrainian defenders returned home after another exchange of prisoners. Among them are two residents of Ternopil oblast. They boldly held the defense towards Bakhmut.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that at night, russian troops hit the facilities in Khmelnytskyi. One of them is a military one. A fire broke out at fuel and lubricants warehouses and the storage of combat material assets.

Yurii Ihnat, spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that at night, the russian occupiers attacked the airfield in Starokostiantinov. There is some damage there. The fire was extinguished.

The RMA reported that a coordination meeting was held with international partners and donors to discuss further steps to restore the infrastructure of Chornoostrivska and Khmelnytska communities damaged by the russian missile strike on May 13.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that three drones were sent to the military from the oblast.

Over 3 K students from Bukovyna took part in military field meetings. During the event, high school students were trained and briefed on proper handling of mine-explosive devices, disassembly and assembly of a machine gun, and provision of first aid. The classes were conducted by military personnel of the Chernivtsi Regional Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support with the involvement of volunteers.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
