It has been the 456th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation launched another massive attack on Ukraine, using Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs, 36 out of 36 destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

The russian occupiers launched 2 missile strikes from air defense systems S-300 on the civilian infrastructure of the village of Tsirkuny in Kharkiv oblast, damaging a private house. In addition, the enemy carried out 48 airstrikes and fired about 10 times from multiple launch rocket systems. 

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. In total, there were 17 combat engagements in the above-mentioned sectors over the last day. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation remained unchanged, with no signs of offensive groups forming.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine.

The russian forces fired mortar and artillery shells at the settlements of Hai and Kamianska Sloboda in Chernihiv oblast; Khodyno, Volodymyrivka, Oleksandrivka, Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy oblast, as well as Strilecha, Krasne, Cherkaski Tyshky, Lukiantsi, Neskuchne, Ternova, Vovchansk, Chuhunivka, and Khatne in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy continues to try to improve the tactical situation. There were airstrikes near the settlements of Chaikivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast. During the day, The invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Masiutivka.  The settlements of Topoli, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Zakhidne, Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy.

Towards Lyman, the russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Bilohorivka. There were airstrikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Ivano-Darivka in Donetsk oblast.  Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Ivanivka, Torske, Verkhnekamianske and Spirne in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continued to conduct offensive actions. Vasiukivka, Pryvillia, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechine, Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora, Pivnichne, and Pivnichne in Donetsk oblast were affected by shelling.

 

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Krasnohorivka. He conducted air strikes near Avdiivka. Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Karlivka in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces repelled numerous enemy attacks. There were airstrikes in the area of Marinka. At the same time, the settlements of Marinka and Pobieda in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy fired at Vuhledar and Prechystivka, in particular.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy continues to conduct defensive actions. There were airstrikes in the areas of Olhivske, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast and Novoberyslav in Kherson oblast. Zelene Pole, Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kamianske and Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Zolota Balka, Novooleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Vesele, Kozatske, Lvov, Vysuntsi, Bilozirka, Antonivka, Veletenske in Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson were shelled.

The russian occupation forces militarized the island of Dzharylhach, which on May 19 was connected to the temporarily occupied mainland of Kherson oblast near the village of Lazurne. In particular, the invaders deployed about 300 russian servicemen and 15 foreign-made boats stolen from the local population on the island.

Aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 4 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel and military equipment, and rocket and artillery units hit 2 buildups of manpower, an ammunition depot, a radar station and an enemy artillery unit at firing positions.

According to the head of the Presidential Office, 106 Ukrainian servicemen were returned from russian captivity. Among them are 8 officers and 98 soldiers and sergeants. Besides, among those who were returned, many were considered missing.

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, announces that the EU’s economic visa-free regime with Ukraine is extended for another year. These measures will help maintain stable trade relations between the EU and Ukraine.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian army launched airstrikes on Chaikivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast, tried to advance on Masiutivka and fired at least 16 settlements with artillery and mortars.

Ivan Sokol, Director of the regional civil defense department, informs that since the beginning of the de-occupation, 181 people, including 14 children, have been blown up in the liberated territories in Kharkiv oblast. The explosions killed 32 people, including one child. 

Olha Chikanova, Spokeswoman for the State Bureau of Investigation, informs that a cache with 18 russian-made rocket-propelled grenades was found in Kharkiv oblast and will be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 

Yevhen Vasylenko, Spokesman for the regional rescue department, says that a resident of Protopopivka was killed by the detonation of an explosive device, and another man injured.

Last night, russian occupiers launched a missile attack on the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv oblast. The missile hit the ground. A private house located nearby was damaged. No one was injured.

The russian military fired at settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv and Chuhuiv regions.

The shelling of Kupiansk damaged a kindergarten, two 5-storey residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. UAV strikes in Ploske village, Kupiansk region, damaged a private house, destroyed 2 outbuildings and agricultural machinery of an agricultural enterprise, and damaged a school building. In Kucherivka village, Kupiansk region, a fire broke out in 2 warehouses due to the shelling, and a woodworking shop was damaged.

A civilian infrastructure facility was damaged in the village of Odnorobivka, Bohodukhiv region, due to an airstrike.

In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, shelling damaged a kindergarten and 3 private houses.

Mine danger remains high in the region. A civilian man of 33 years old was blown up on an explosive device in the village of Oleksandrivka, Izium region. He was hospitalized with an injury.

Demining is ongoing. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service examined more than 8 hectares of territory and defused 139 ordnance.

Valentyn Sipavin, a climber from Kharkiv, has conquered Mount Everest for the fifth time. At the top, the athlete unfurled the flag of Ukraine. It is planned to be raffled off among donors to the UNITED24 platform.

Yevhen Vasylenko, Spokesman for the regional rescue department, says that as a result of the shelling, 10 units of fire and rescue equipment of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv oblast were destroyed and 53 units damaged. On May 25, American vehicles were handed over to the rescuers of the oblast. They received more than 220 units of fire and rescue equipment.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops have been advancing unsuccessfully towards Ivanivske near Bakhmut and launched an airstrike near Bila Hora.

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine reported on Telegram that in the suburbs of Bakhmut, the russian command replaced the Wagner PMC units with regular army ones. The mercenaries are still  in Bakhmut.

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, says that there were two engagements towards Bakhmut over the last day, 87 russian servicemen were killed and 131 wounded, weapons and ammunition depots destroyed.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian troops killed 32 russian soldiers in five engagements, wounded 62 and captured 4.

The enemy destroyed the dam of the Karlivka Reservoir, putting the villages of Halytsynivka, Zhelanne-1 and Zhelanne-2 under the threat of flooding. If necessary, the evacuation of civilians will begin.

Kramatorsk police department reported that in Tetianivka, Sviatohirsk community, police exhumed the bodies of an 82-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl who were killed during artillery shelling. The village was on the battle line for almost six months, and the neighboring Sviatohirsk was occupied.

Anastasia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman for Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, reports that in the afternoon, russian troops shelled Krasnohorivka. A 73-year-old woman was killed.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of the RMA, says that in Avdiivka, a man was blown up on an anti-personnel landmine. The wounded man was evacuated to the hospital.

Towards Donetsk, the russian forces shelled Kurakhove with artillery and Uragans, hitting several enterprises.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 4 houses damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In Kostiantynivka, 1 person was wounded and 2 houses damaged. One person was wounded in Toretsk community in Niu York, 6 houses and an infrastructure facility damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 houses in Zvanivka were destroyed, 6 more houses and a school damaged. Torske and Zarichne in Lyman community were shelled.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy somewhat reduced intensity of ground offensives, but did not stop shelling Ukrainian villages and towns. An airstrike was carried out on Dibrova. Nevske, Bilohorivka and Stelmakhivka have been under enemy fire for several days in a row. Recently, a local resident’s house was damaged in Nevske. russian artillery regularly destroys the houses that people have managed to leave and evacuate. However, despite the threat, they manage to deliver food and essential goods to the locals. Yesterday, the residents of Krasnorechenska community received medicines.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that police officers from russia are forcing residents of the occupied Luhansk oblast to apply for russian passports. Employees of the regional migration departments of the russian Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived. Local residents are threatened that they will be left without jobs, education and even medical care if they have no russian passports. Even doctors are instructed not to save the lives of patients without russian passports. Sievierodonetsk residents have no permanent jobs, and most have no income.

Artem Lysohor, Head of the RMA, says that a boy born in 2007 and a girl born in 2003 were killed in Raihorodka, Luhansk oblast, by russian army shelling. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, reported that as a result of a crash of enemy drone fragments, forest floor was on fire in Kyiv oblast. According to him, the russians attacked the area with UAVs at night. The alarm lasted more than 3 hours.

According to Kyiv Regional Military Administration, on Thursday night, air defense forces destroyed all Shahed kamikaze drones used by russia to attack Kyiv. It has been noted that the russian military uses multiple-wave attack tactics. This is the twelfth attack on the capital in May.

The Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft and mobile fire groups repelled the air attack. The Ukrainian military showed how on the night of May 25th they shot down Shahed drones over Kyiv using German-provided Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft system. This system has already been used to destroy enemy targets – four Shahed drones and two cruise missiles.

Military exercises in Kyiv and the oblast will end on May 25. For three days, citizens in the northern parts of Kyiv oblast have been noticing the movement of military vehicles and hearing explosions and shooting. This was due to the Ukrainian military practicing drills, setting up additional checkpoints and executing counter sabotage and reconnaissance activities.

The population of Irpin is recovering – 85% of residents have already returned to the city. Oleksandr Markushyn, Irpin Mayor, reported that Irpin has sheltered almost 25 K internally displaced persons, mostly from the eastern parts of Ukraine. He noted that 39 soldiers of the territorial defense unit, 50 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and more than 300 civilians, including up to 20 children, were killed during the hostilities in the city.

A meeting between UAF President Andriy Pavelko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Jens de Mol took place at the Kyiv Football House. During the meeting, the parties have agreed to jointly implement a number of social projects aimed at developing children’s and youth football activities and supporting displaced children, children of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and those in difficult circumstances.

Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn reported that about 15 international companies plan to locate manufacturing facilities in the future technology park in Irpin. According to him, the new technology park will have many advantages, including a convenient location near the main roads and all necessary communications.

A fragment of Kyiv’s pedestrian and bicycle bridge, which survived a russian missile hit in October 2022, will be available for purchase on June 2 at a charity online auction in the state system Prozorro.Sale. The charity lot was provided by the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of Kyiv City State Administration. The funds raised will be used to support a separate Kyiv rifle battalion currently defending Ukraine on the frontline.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, three medical institutions of Zhytomyr oblast have received telemedicine systems made in Spain by Homedoctor. These systems are designed for remote diagnostics and help maintain access to healthcare for residents of communities in war-torn areas. Radomyshl, Ovruch, and Olevsk primary health care centers received this equipment.

In Zhytomyr, a social and psychological assistance team for victims of domestic and gender-based violence received a car from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. The mobile team, which includes a psychologist, a driver, and a social worker, has strengthened the efforts of the city’s Center for Social Services to counter domestic violence.

For over a year now, the Korosten Forestry and Hunting Range Branch has been implementing an innovative initiative – beehive therapy. This is a promising treatment method based on properties of bees and their products to improve physical and emotional health, reduce pain, improve sleep and overall well-being. In particular, hive therapy is recommended for those who suffered as a result of russian military aggression.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that over the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled 5 communities in Sumy oblast, inflicting 84 shells on our territories. Velyka Pysarivka, Yunakivka, Khotin, Nova Sloboda, and Bilopllia communities came under fire. The enemy opened fire from mortars, barrel artillery, grenade launchers and MLRS, and launched rockets from aircraft. Two civilians were wounded and three houses damaged in Khotyn community. An aircraft missile has hit a kindergarten in Yunkivka community, damaging the central building.

According to the information provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General, as a result of mortar shelling in Khotyn community on May 24, a kindergarten and the premises of an agricultural company were damaged.

Sumy RMA reported that there were explosions on the territory of Nova Sloboda community. There were two explosions from VOG explosive devices.

According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, two of the 106 Ukrainian defenders released from russian captivity today are residents of Sumy oblast: one of the POWs is a resident of Shostka, the other is from Sumy.

Okhtyrka City Council informed that its hospital received plumbing fixtures from benefactors. The help came from the Rotary Club Kyiv. The hospital received walk-in showers, sinks, equipment for people with special needs, etc.

In Krolevets, the primary medical center received autoinjectors for insulin. The donation was made by the humanitarian headquarters of Sumy RMA.

Trostianets Hospital will have its own solar power plant. The project is being implemented with the help of Switzerland, which has allocated UAH 3.3 million for it.

Chernihiv oblast

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on May 24, the enemy fired mortars and barrel artillery at three settlements in Chernihiv oblast. The village of Khrinivka of Snovsk community, as well as Khotiyivka and Yanzhulivka of Semenivka community, came under fire.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that in the morning, the russian military attacked two villages of Novhorod-Siverskyi community on the border of Chernihiv oblast. According to preliminary information, there were 14 strikes from barrel artillery in the village of Kamianska Sloboda, and 13 in the area of Hai village.

According to Sosnytsia village council, the Sosnytsia community raised UAH 24,500 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a charity fair. The event was attended by secondary school teachers, students and their parents.

The city hospital in Nizhyn received humanitarian aid from Neustadt-in-Holstein, Germany. Surgical instruments, gowns, gloves, and absorbent sheets were delivered to the medical facility.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Serhii Lysak,  Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, russian troops attacked Marhanets community with a kamikaze drone. A house was damaged. As of 24 February 2023, russian troops had fired more than 330 missiles and several thousand rockets at Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The attacks killed 218 civilians and injured more than 800.

During this time, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office opened more than a thousand criminal proceedings for violations of the laws and customs of war, 60 involving premeditated murder.  

The evacuation of elderly people from Nikopol continues. A government programme was launched at the end of August last year to protect the elderly and disabled. It provides centralized evacuation to safer areas of western Ukraine. So far, 940 people have applied for the programme.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ The children of perished defenders from Vinnytsia oblast received commemorative personalised amulets Father’s Heart – a silver pendant in the form of a heart framed by a wreath of thorns with a drop of blood. The design was developed by Ukrainian intelligence officers. The initiators of the campaign were activists of the “Combat Brotherhood of Ukraine” All-Ukrainian Civil-Military Association.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, the installation Mum’s Marigolds was created in the Peace 2.0 space. The flowers were planted in military boots by women who had lost their sons, husbands, and brothers in the war with russia to remind people that the war is ongoing.  Fifteen women took part in the action. All of them are members of Hearts of Mothers and War Veterans of Kropyvnytskyi NGO.

Poltava oblast

Since the russian invasion, hundreds of hectares of forests and fields have been cleared of mines in Poltava oblast. In the north of the oblast, explosive ordnance disposal experts cleared almost 100 hectares of forests and 100 hectares of agricultural land. Currently, the ban on visiting forests remains valid because of the war and the threat of mines.

Cherkasy oblast

Today, 7 Citroen Jumper ambulances were handed over to the emergency medical teams in Uman, Zvenyhorodka, Smila, Cherkasy, Chornobay, Zolotonosha, and the Emergency Response Department.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, on May 24, the russian military shelled 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. They used artillery and multiple rocket launchers and fired at Huliaipole Huliaipilske, Stepnohirsk, Zaliznychne, Olhove, Plavni, Poltavka and other frontline villages. There were no casualties.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, reported that on May 25, residents of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia oblast, reported black smoke over the airfield. The smoke may be the result of a fire caused by fuel stored by russians at the airfield. 

The city of Enerhodar is overrun by the occupiers. In the industrial zone of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the enemy is placing its weapons near every building.

Yurii Malashko, Head of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration reported that the russians are creating artificial conditions for people to leave the contact line, including not bringing in food and water to force citizens to go deeper into the territory. In Tokmak, russian military are unable to ensure the operation of the power system, so they are using rolling blackouts.

Despite the mines and remnants of explosive devices in the fields, farmers continue to work. As a result, Zaporizhzhia oblast is 100% supplied with bread. 

Mykolaiv oblast

During the night of May 25, the Air defense forces of the ‘South’ Air Command destroyed 3 enemy attack  Shahed-131/136 UAVs in Mykolaiv oblast. Additionally, on May 24 at 18:00, the russian army carried out another artillery strike on the waters of Ochakiv community. There were no casualties or damages reported.  As reported by Mykolaiv RMA, the rest of the regions experienced a relatively calm night and day.

Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant received 7 units of equipment from Germany: 5 brand new JCB 3CX excavators, a Hyundai excavator-loader, and an XCMG 25 truck crane. These will be used to efficiently and rapidly provide heating for the city.

The Ukrainian defense forces maintain fire control over the coast of the Dnipro-Buzkyi Estuary and continue to engage the enemy from advantageous positions on the Kinburn Spit. It is from this small piece of Mykolaiv oblast still occupied by the russians that Ochakiv community is being shelled. The Armed Forces of Ukraine respond with powerful strikes on the aggressor’s targets. A video of a precise fire attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which caused a two-storey building on the coast of the estuary, where russian forces were stationed, to literally shatter into pieces, was shared on Twitter  by independent military observer Paul Jawin in the evening of May 24.

Odesa oblast

On the night of May 24 to 25, the night in Odesa oblast passed under several hours of air raid sirens but without any shelling. During the night, the air defense forces successfully downed a kamikaze drone of the Shahed-131/136 type in the sky above Odesa oblast. This indicates that the level of missile threat and Shahed attacks remains high. According to the ‘South’ Operational Command a missile frigate equipped with eight Kalibr missiles continued its presence in the Black Sea waters throughout the night.

A special cancellation of the postage stamp Peace. Victory. Ukraine took place under the EUROPA program on the theme of “The World – Humanity’s Highest Value” with the “First Day” postmark at Odesa Main Post Office. The stamp sheet is designed in a format of two interconnected stamps. The design of one stamp is created by Kharkiv artist Maria Suslova, who took second place in the sketch competition, while the other stamp features a new symbol of the world created by designers Linda Boss and Runa Egilsdottir with Celtic motifs. This design from the Luxembourg Post won the sketch competition organized by PostEurop.

On May 24, Tarutyne Agricultural Lyceum in Odesa oblast held a charity fair to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the All-Ukrainian Week of Vocational and Technical Education. Prior to the fair, flour products made from leavened dough were prepared by the masters, teachers, and first-year culinary students. Around 500 buns and croissants were sold at a symbolic price and quickly disappeared from the improvised counter on the day of the fair. A total of over 5,000 UAH was collected.

Kherson oblast

Volodymyr Litvinov, Head of Beryslav regional military administration, reported that on May 25, around noon, the russian military fired guided missiles at the village of Novoberislav, Beryslav region. The hits damaged warehouses and equipment of an agricultural enterprise. One of the shells hit a summer house cooperative, damaging about eight houses and cars. There were no casualties. 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops have deployed 300 soldiers and 15 foreign-made boats, stolen from the local population on Dzharylgach Island, which they have connected to the temporarily seized mainland of Kherson oblast.

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that over the past day russian occupiers fired 83 times at civilian settlements in Kherson oblast. They fired 411 shells from artillery, MLRS, mortars, tanks, drones and aircraft. The enemy attacked Kherson 2 times, firing 4 shells at the city. The russian military hit residential areas of the region’s settlements and social and critical infrastructure facilities in Beryslav region. Four people were injured. 

Representatives of the international organization Médecins Sans Frontières continue to work in Kherson oblast. On May 24 medical teams visited Borozenske and Novomykolaivka. In total, the doctors examined 53 patients.

Thanks to the cooperation of Kherson Regional Medical Association with Lidea and the  ZHYVA NGO, 56 farms received free sunflower seeds. The seeds were delivered to farmers in Velyka Oleksandrivka, Chornobaivka, Muzykivka, Vysokopillia, and Dariivka communities. This aid will help farmers sow more than 3 K hectares of demined fields.

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that during the exchange of prisoners of war, three soldiers from Volyn were released from captivity – Pavlo Kupriianchyk (Manevichi village), Anatolii Kulak (Lokachyn community) and Serhii Vlasiuk (Voladymir community).

Zakarpattia oblast

RMA representatives met with Vasco Alves Cordeiro, President of the EU Committee of the Regions. They discussed cooperation and support for Ukraine. In addition, a meeting was held with representatives of the Business Association of the Flemish Region Flanders Investment and Trade.

The all-Ukrainian veteran cycling race from Uzhhorod to Darmstadt started. In total, they plan to cover over 1,5 K kilometers. Meetings with representatives of local authorities and the public, with Ukrainians living abroad, and holding photo exhibitions about Ukrainian defenders are planned on the way.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that during the protracted night air alert, air defense forces were on alert in the oblast. There was no damage, destruction or casualties.

As part of today’s prisoner of war exchange, one Carpathian fighter returned home. Contact with serviceman Mykhailo Havrysh was lost in January of this year during hostilities in Bakhmut.

The RMA reported that a meeting of the international round table “Ukrainian-Hungarian cooperation for the provision of emergency assistance to IDPs” took place in Ivano-Frankivsk.

From the oblast, humanitarian aid includes a hydraulic press, MIG-PRO semi-automatic welding machine, wire for the semi-automatic machine, hydraulic jacks, audio-visual equipment, etc., worth almost half a million UAH for the fighters of the 102nd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.  

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk, announced that the city territorial center of recruitment and social support received three Starlinks for the 419th rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

At night, the enemy again attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones. The ‘West’ Air Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 10 Shaheds in Lviv oblast. There were no objects hit, victims or injured.

Representatives of Kyiv Association of Military Attaches accredited in Ukraine visited Lviv oblast. These are military attaches and their deputies from 13 allied states of Ukraine and the EU (Austria, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey and Finland).

Kamianka-Buzka community concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation with the city of Suprasl in Poland. The document provides for partnership in implementing infrastructure projects in both communities and attracting additional external financial investments.

A charity event Family Holiday was held in Pidberiztsi. Over UAH 30 K was collected for compatriots who defend the state. A concert of Brodiv School of Aesthetic Education was also held, at which over UAH 9K was collected for the purchase of a drone for the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that among the freed 106 people are 3 soldiers from Rivne oblast who were captured in Bakhmut.

The RMA reported that in Rivne oblast, new shelters will be built for schools where there are none at all.

Football matches were held in the oblast in support of the military. Over UAH 20K collected was donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that 18 drones were sent to the frontline for the military thanks to employees of the Western Ukrainian National University.

Ternopil City Council reported  that two anti-drone guns were sent to the front line.

Ternopil photographer Olesia Martseniuk organized a thematic shooting in a photo studio destroyed by the russians. The building was damaged as a result of rocket fire on May 13.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that the oblast sent a DJI Mavic 3 quadcopter to one of the military units thanks to the Protect Khmelnytskyi CF.

Chernivtsi oblast

Air defense forces destroyed an enemy drone over the territory of the oblast. At 04:18 a.m. in Dnistrovsk region, a fire broke out in a garage due to the fall of the wreckage of the Shakhed-136 UAV, and 3 residential buildings were damaged. Two power lines were damaged by debris. Currently, 140 consumers in Dnistrovsk region are disconnected. In addition, on the territory of Sokyrian community, local residents found the wreckage of the second enemy Geran-2 unmanned aerial vehicle, which was shot down by air defense forces last night. Relevant services are working at the scene.

Young residents from the village of Dovhopillia of Koniatiyn community collected UAH 10 K for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a week. As a sign of gratitude, soldiers from the special unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Artan handed over a flag to the children.

International support for Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war (Russian invasion of Ukraine)

Lloyd Austin, US Defense Minister, announced that the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format was held in virtual mode. On the agenda is to help Ukrainians protect the skies even more from russian missiles and planes.

Finland will provide a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 109 million. For operational reasons and to guarantee the safe delivery of aid, there is no additional information about the specific content, methods of delivery or schedules of aid.

The ground part of the training of Ukrainian pilots to work with Western F-16 fighters will take place in Great Britain. Ukraine is ready to send 20 military personnel for training. The training provided by the NATO course “Introduction to the Basics of Fighter Control” will be divided into several stages.

The US Defense Cooperation Agency reported that the US State Department approved the sale of the NASAMS air defense system and related equipment to Ukraine at an estimated cost of $285 million.

The EU extended the ‘economic visa-free’ mode with Ukraine for one year.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Paul Jonson, Minister of Defense of Sweden. They discussed the aviation coalition, the situation on the front lines, required weapons, the Peace Formula, Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and support for Sweden.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland reported that the country, not having its own army, will send oil tankers for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

Kaisa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, announced that the country is working on a plan to quickly start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.

Bjorn Arild Gram, Minister of Defense, stated that the Norwegian government is positive about the initiative to create the so-called ‘coalition of fighter jets’.

Paul Jonson, Swedish Defense Minister, said that Ukrainian pilots can practice on Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters. According to him, it is a ‘familiarization program’.

Hanna Prorok, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, announced that the UN Foundation UNFPA in the field of population from the Government of Denmark sent to Ukrainian partners 15 minibuses for mobile brigades that provide social and psychological assistance to victims of violence. There are currently 550 mobile brigades working in Ukraine, of which 149 are not equipped with cars.

Uliana Tokareva, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, announced that in Poland, housing is being arranged to host Ukrainian children.
