It has been the 399th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy launched 1 missile and 16 air strikes, as well as 4 MLRS attacks.

There remains a high threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine, while the enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, applying terror tactics to civilians. Today, as a result of an air strike on the infrastructure of the city of Beryslav, Kherson oblast, civilians were injured, private houses and civilian infrastructure damaged.

The enemy focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka are still in the epicenter of hostilities. Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repulsed 48 enemy attacks in these areas.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Seversk and Sloboda, the operational situation reveals no significant changes, there were no signs of the enemy’s offensive groups formed. The enemy continues to maintain its military presence in border areas of Kursk and Belgorod oblasts.Chernatske, Esman, Kucherivka, Bilopillia, Volfyne and Basivka (Sumy region), as well as in the areas of the settlements of Tymofiivka, Veterynarne, Hlyboke, Pishchaoe, Hatyshche, Vovchansk and Bochkove (Kharkiv oblast) were shelled.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Vyimkka. Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, artillery shelling was carried out, targeting Kolodiazne, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, Kupiansk, Kyslivka and Kamianka (Kharkiv oblast); Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Kuzmino and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), as well as Kolodiazi, Spirne and Siversk (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continues assaulting the city, and has partial success. Nevertheless, our defenders courageously hold the city, rappelling numerous attacks of the enemy. During the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka (Donetsk oblast). Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar and Toretsk  (Donetsk oblast) were shelled.

Towards Avdiivka and Marinka, the enemy conducted offensive operations against Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaisk, Marinka, yet was not successful. Also, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast) were shelled.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy continues to defend. Vremivka, (Donetsk oblast), Malynivka, Huliaipole, Staroukrainka and Charivne (Zaporozhzhia oblast), Vesele, Beryslav, Kozatske, Zelenivka, Antonovka, Dniprovske (Kherson oblast) and the city of Kherson were shelled.

In Armiansk and Dzhankoi regions of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the enemy continues to build fortifications and trenches. Civilians are actively involved in the work. 

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 5 strikes on buildups of russian personnel and military equipment.

Also, units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a russian Su-24M bomber.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units hit 2 buildups of enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment, 1 ammunition depot and 2 warehouses of enemy fuel and lubricants.

The press service of the Ombudsman’s Office of Ukraine reports that 327 children were returned after the beginning of a full-scale war. As of March 29, 2023, 394 children are considered missing, 10863 are found, and 327 children are returned.

Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko says that Ukraine spends UAH 130 billion a month on the war. The state budget of Ukraine receives UAH 80 billion in revenues. He noted that currently the key task is to create conditions for financing the military budget. Last week the Verkhovna Rada increased the defense budget of 2023 by UAH 518 billion.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders tried to conduct an offensive towards Berestove and Khromalne but had no success. 14 settlements were targeted.

Since March 1, mobile brigades have been operating in the region, providing psychological and social assistance. They go to communities on requests from the centres of social service and provision of social services. During the month, the brigades made about 30 visits.

According to Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv RMA, in the village of Podoly, Kupiansk region, three civilian women, aged 70, 69 and 68, came under enemy fire. Currently, they are all hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds. One woman’s condition is serious. Others are in moderate condition.

In the Izyum region, near the town of Barvinkove, a car hit an anti-tank mine. The blast killed two people – a 16-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man. Two other men, aged 20 and 24, were injured and hospitalized. 

The press service of the Kharkiv regional police informs that a 47-year-old resident of the village of Komisarove of the Vilkhuvatka community spent a day under the rubble of the utility building after the shelling. Viktor Zabashta, Director of the Emergency Medical Care Center, says that on March 28, he was able to be retrieved and hospitalized with serious injuries. The man died in the hospital. 

On March 28, the enemy continued shelling civilians and civilian infrastructure of the settlements of Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv region.

During the day, Bohodukhiv, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Strilecha, Veterynarne and other cities and villages came under enemy fire.

As a result of a missile strike on the city of Bohodukhiv, 13 residential buildings and a kindergarten building were damaged. A 63-year-old man was injured and hospitalized in moderate condition.

 During the day, the enemy massively fired mortars, artillery and tanks at the village of Dvorechna, Kupiansk region. Residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged. There were more than 150 hits. 

As a result of shelling in Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, a civilian industrial facility and outbuildings were damaged.

Demining work is ongoing. During the day, SES pyrotechnics defused 116 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

In one day, 97 Russian invaders were eliminated towards Bakhmut. russia has been attempting to capture Bakhmut for 9 months, shelling it over two hundred times in the last day.

According to the Air Force of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops destroyed a russian Su-24M bomber near Bakhmut.

According to a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), russian troops have advanced by another 5% of Bakhmut’s territory over the past week and occupy about 65% of the city. Also, according to the ISW, the Wagner PMC soldiers may have occupied the AZOM industrial complex in the north of Bakhmut.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning that russian soldiers refuse to fight in Donetsk oblast. On 25 March, russian reconnaissance troops, located in Avdiivka, refused to follow their commander’s orders.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, said that since the beginning of the day, russian troops have shelled Avdiivka about 10 times. They launched two air strikes. There were no casualties. During the day, russian forces launched two missile strikes on Avdiivka. A kindergarten building and an apartment building were destroyed.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar and nearby settlements were shelled, without casualties.

Towards Donetsk, a building in Vovchenka of Kurakhove community was damaged and the outskirts of Kurakhove were under attack. There were isolated attacks on Avdiivka and Marinka, Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka of Marinka community.

Towards Horlivka, 3 people were injured in Bakhmut and 2 in Chasiv Yar. One building was damaged in Kostiantynivka. In Soledar community, Minkivka and Orikhovo-Vasylivka and the outskirts of Toretsk community were shelled.

Towards Lysychansk, there were isolated attacks in Siversk community, no casualties.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that on March 28, russians injured 5 civilians: 3 in Bakhmut and 2 in Chasiv Yar.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Lyman.

Oleksii Smyrnov, Acting Head of the Regional Military Administration, says that Bilohorivka and its outskirts are still in the epicenter of the hostilities. The enemy is badly shelling the area. However, Ukrainian troops respond precisely to numerous artillery attacks by russian forces. The tactics of the enemy in Luhansk oblast are similar to the more classical army.

On March 28, besides Bilohorivka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations against Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka. Novoselivske, Nevske, Kuzmyne, Dibrova and Bilohorivka were shelled.

The Luhansk RMA reports that the enemy continues to use medical facilities of the temporarily occupied territories for its own purposes. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The National Police of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, police investigators have documented 11,219 war crimes committed by the russian military in the oblast. Law enforcement officers discovered 1,374 bodies of civilians killed during the occupation, 200 of which have not been identified yet.

National Police investigators sent an indictment to the court against a russian serviceman of the 31st separate airborne assault brigade of the russian airborne forces. It was established that on March 22, 2022, in Irpin, the russian occupiers checked people who were hiding in the basement of the Green Building residential complex in order to identify patriotic citizens. The accused russian soldier found a photo of a person, who serves in the Armed Forces, in the phone of one of the women, after which he simulated shooting the woman in the head with an automatic weapon. The victim received a strong psychological trauma.

Heorgii Yerko, Acting  Head  of Borodianka, said that a year after the de-occupation, the windows of all the surviving high-rise buildings and more than 1,700 private houses in the city were restored, and the roofs of the houses repaired. Currently, the development of the project for reconstructing Central Street is underway.

Celebrations were held in Irpin on the day of the liberation of the city from the russian invaders. They were attended by servicemen and soldiers of the Territorial Defense, who defended the city, relatives of fallen heroes and local residents. During the event, the defenders who participated in the heroic defense of Irpin were awarded with medals.

The tenth group of 20 combatants and their families left Kyiv for a two-week rehabilitation in Poland. As reported by the KCSA, the veterans will undergo free psychological, physical and social rehabilitation, which will be supplemented with hippotherapy and excursions to important places of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn said that a separate bomb shelter for 1,200 children with a gym may appear in one of the educational institutions of the city. The pilot project in the city Lyceum “Mriya” can be implemented by the Finnish Temet, which specializes in the construction of bomb shelters.

Residents of the Bucha community who suffered from the war will be able to receive free psychological help. Special offices were opened in the Babyntsi and Havrilivka with the support of the international organization “Doctors of the World”.

An alley of lilac bushes in honor of the fallen serviceman appeared in the Volunteer Battalions Alley in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. Planting a lilac alley was the initiative of the bride of the fallen defender, who was born and grew up in this area of the city. Since 2014, Taras Koval defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in Donetsk oblast, stood in defense of the Donetsk airport, and took the last battle in March 2022 during the defense of Kharkiv oblast.

A charity photo session for passengers at the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway station was held by the famous portrait photographer Katya Kondratieva. Everyone could take a photo for a donation. The funds will be directed to the “Zalizna Rodyna” fund to help the families of railway workers killed and wounded in the war and to the “Feel” fund for tactical and civilian medicine in the de-occupied territories.

Zhytomyr oblast

The dismantling of the monument to the soviet soldier has begun at the Smolyanske Military Cemetery in Zhytomyr. The city council decided to move the monument from the central alley to the graves of soldiers buried from 1941 to 1945.

Vitaliy Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr RMA, said that with the support of partners from Norway, the regional hospital of the oblast received a high-power generator from the Norwegian Mu-i-Rana hospital. This equipment will help provide backup power for expensive medical equipment that saves the lives of hundreds of patients.

Zhytomyr, Zvyagel, Baranivka, Korosten and Radomyshl city councils received 19 portable charging stations. The aid came thanks to the “Extraordinary grant aid for humanitarian aid in Ukraine” project, which is financed by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

Sumy oblast

The SBGS reported that Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske and Esman communities of Sumy oblast came under russian shelling on March 28. russian troops inflicted fire damage using self-propelled artillery 40 times. As a result of shelling, a power line, a cultural center, a children’s playground and 5 private houses were damaged.

Mayor of Bilopillia, Yuriy Zarko reported that from March 24 to 28, two people were killed and 16 injured in the community due to russian shelling. According to him, during the shelling on the night of March 28, one person was wounded in the community. In addition, the hospital is treating dogs injured after being hit by a guided bomb.

Sumygaz reported that gas distribution has been restored in Bilopillia. Low-pressure gas networks were damaged due to a russian air strike on the territory of the community with a guided aerial bomb on the night of March 28. Employees of the Bilopillia branch of Sumygaz continue inspection of underground distribution gas pipelines.

Units of the State Emergency Service carried out emergency recovery work in Sumy oblast and helped civilians whose houses were damaged by a russian airstrike. Rescuers dismantled the destroyed structures, strengthened the roofs, covering the roofs and the windows of the houses with film.

On March 28, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited Sumy oblast on a working visit. He held a meeting with representatives of local authorities and commanders responsible for the defense of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts. Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Okhtyrka with a special hero city award and congratulated Trostianets on the anniversary of its liberation from the russian occupiers.

Volunteers from the humanitarian hub “Zhytomyr” handed over four Ukrainian-made “Valkyria” drones to the military. The unmanned aerial complex is designed for conducting aerial reconnaissance and adjusting artillery and mortar fire.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that the russians opened fire on the border of the Semenivka territorial community with 120 mm mortars. Two explosions were recorded.

6 buses from Poland were delivered for Chernihiv oblast by volunteers from Lviv oblast. Funds were provided by the foundation of the American couple Karen and Irwin Redlener. According to Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, more than 80 school buses were lost during the hostilities in the oblast. Currently, 63 transport units are needed.

Swiss diplomats and representatives of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization for the Development of Democratic Education” (Decide) visited the destroyed school No. 21 in Chernihiv, which is aimed at restoring the educational process, modernizing it, and developing democratic and transparent school management. As part of the project, four communities of Chernihiv oblast will receive one million hryvnias each for the implementation of projects proposed by the students themselves. Which ideas to implement will be decided by voting.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In Dnipropetrovsk oblast, the “I am a Veteran” service will be implemented in the administrative service center. Thanks to this, the participants of the russian-Ukrainian war and their family members will be able to receive all the necessary services in one place.

According to the Kryvyi Rih  Regional Military Administration, demining of fields has been ongoing in the region since the beginning of March. Sappers have surveyed about 1,700 hectares.  The territories most contaminated by explosive objects are in Shyroke and Zelenodolsk communities.

Vinnytsia oblast

The Vinnytsia City Council reported that Serhii Morhunov, together with mayors from more than  hundred countries of the world, joined an online meeting within the framework of the second Summit for Democracy (S4D2). The meeting is held under the patronage of US President Joe Biden and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The event was organized by the US State Department and USAID. 

 The press service of Vinnytsiamiskteploenergo, the communal enterprise of the Vinnytsia City Council, reported obtaining 200 tons of technical salt within the implementation of the energy security project funded by the United States Agency for International Development USAID.

Kirovohrad oblast

Dmytro Savchuk, co-initiator of the test flights, said that unmanned lethal vehicles of Ukrainian manufacturers were tested in Kirovohrad oblast. The multi-rotor drones are being developed for reconnaissance, correction, and strike modifications for defense forces.

Poltava oblast

Poland and Britain plan to build a new village for internally displaced persons in Poltava oblast. The village with  modular houses  will be able to temporarily accommodate 700 people.

Cherkasy oblast

A 7th-grader Natalia Omelchuk earned and handed over UAH 72,200 to the 72nd separate mechanized brigade Chorni Zaporozhtsi. The fighters bought a drone with the funds received, and in gratitude, handed over the brigade flag to their helper.

A fire truck with a telescopic ladder was sent from Germany to Zvenyhorodka. This vehicle will make it possible to carry out emergency rescue operations at a height of up to 30 meters.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not significantly changed so far. The enemy focuses its main efforts on maintaining the occupied positions. The enemy launched 57 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using tanks and artillery along the entire contact line.

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the settlements of Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Charivne, Malynivka, Staroukrainka, Olhivske, Bilohiria, Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Kamianske. Nine reports were received by the police regarding the destruction of citizens’ houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

On March 29th, Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), arrived at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Grossi is convinced that protecting the station is extremely necessary. The IAEA Head emphasized that the nuclear power plant should never be a military target.

The russians are preparing for the so-called ‘elections’ in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast. The occupiers have registered centers of russian parties and created an ‘election commission’.

An important section of the front-line road has been restored in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The Road Service has repaired an emergency section of the road that connects the regional center with the Huliaipole community. This transport connection is used not only by locals but also by volunteers who regularly deliver humanitarian aid to the community.

Mykolaiv oblast

The Mykolaiv RMA reports that on March 28, at 21.27, the enemy shelled the waters of the Ochakov community. There are no casualties. In recent weeks, the activity of the russian occupiers has decreased on the Kinburn Spit due to the work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In Mykolaiv, the memory of those killed in the building of the Regional State Administration as a result of a missile strike exactly a year ago was honored. Relatives and friends of the victims gathered near the site of the tragedy. Mykolaiv residents, colleagues and government officials honored their memory.

Today, near the village of Velykopillia of the Horokhovska community, a car of the State Emergency Service, which accompanied the Mykolaivoblteploenergo brigade, was blown up on an enemy mine. One of the employees of Oblenergo was injured. The man is currently in hospital.

Mykolaiv received new energy-efficient sewerage equipment. 7 Grundfos sewage pumps as an aid were provided by the Kingdom of Denmark. The equipment has a capacity of 40 to 160 kW.

Odesa oblast

Croatia continues to support Ukraine as a loyal and reliable ally. The country started providing assistance to Ukrainian defenders within 4 days after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion. This cooperation continues and will continue after the victory. Croatia has a fantastic experience in humanitarian demining, so Ukrainian specialists will be able to undergo appropriate training at the Croatian center. The ally will continue to assist Ukraine militarily, diplomatically and humanitarianly, and will fully support the work of the International Criminal Court.

An oxygen generator has arrived at the Bolgrad hospital in Odesa oblast, which will be connected to the operating oxygen supply system. This will additionally provide oxygen to the therapeutic and neurological department. The hospital’s cooperation with the charitable organization is carried out within the project “HealthLink: Strengthening Efforts to Combat HIV / AIDS in Ukraine” with the financial support of the US Government through the United States Agency for International Development.

In Odesa’s Invincibility Centre, there is an art exhibition “Free and Furious” dedicated to war. The exhibition includes paintings, illustrations and art objects of more than two dozen artists. Subsequently, these works will become the basis of the Museum of War.

Kherson oblast

In Beryslav, russian forces shelled industrial enterprises with aviation. Former production workshops of the factories were hit. Also, over 15 buildings were damaged by the explosive wave. One man was injured and taken to hospital.

On March 28, there were 34 attacks on peaceful settlements in Kherson oblast by russian invaders. They fired 172 shells from mortars, artillery, drones, aviation, and AGS-17. The enemy targeted the territory and buildings of a hospital, a postal production facility, private and multi-storey houses in Kherson. In the evening, two Su-35 fighters attacked the Beryslav region with two guided bombs. One person was injured.

The police opened 42 criminal cases on the facts of war crimes committed by russian occupiers in Kherson oblast. russian military kidnapped the head of one of the settlements in the temporarily occupied Skadovsk region. The woman’s whereabouts are unknown.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units liquidated 12 occupiers and destroyed a motorboat that the occupiers were attempting to use to transport subversive and reconnaissance groups between the Dnipro islands, an Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone, and a multi-purpose tractor for artillery.

The military personnel of the State Special Transport Service are rebuilding two bridges over the Ingulets River in Kherson oblast. Equipment purchased through United24 funds is being used for this purpose.

Humanitarian aid was brought to the Mylove community. The residents were provided with 200 repair kits for damaged housing, seed kits, and fuel briquettes. Also, a modular medical center was installed.

Over 5000 hectares of the Nyzhniodniprovskyi park were destroyed as a result of russian shelling. During the year of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 26 large-scale fires occurred on an area of ​​5462.45 hectares in the Lower Dnipro region. Scientists from the park came to this conclusion based on the analysis of Sentinel-2 satellite images.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Soldiers of the 2nd Rifle Battalion of the Volyn Territorial Supply Center received 2 cars from the Good Deed CF to carry out combat tasks on the front line.

Yurii Pohuliaiko, Head of the RMA, announced that presidential and government awards were presented to volunteers and farmers from Volyn.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Natalia Matskova, project manager of the Caritas Czech Republic CF in Mukachevo. They discussed construction and reconstruction of facilities for accommodating IDPs, which began last year.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, reported that the oblast became the first region where there is no longer a single temple of the moscow patriarchate. On March 28 in the Church of the Nativity of Christ, which used to belong to the moscow patriarchate, the faithful of the OCU held their first service.

A department of rehabilitation and restorative medicine was opened at the Nadvirniansk Central District Hospital. The department is equipped with the latest equipment, a treatment room, rooms for physical and occupational therapy, a room for speech and language therapy, rooms for providing psychological support, massage and hardware physiotherapy. Specialists will rehabilitate military and residents of the oblast. Their main task is to help patients recover from severe injuries and return to normal life.

Lviv oblast

100 medical evacuations were carried out in Lviv oblast. 8 patients from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblast were transported by special train. Most of them have mine-explosive injuries.

The RMA held a meeting with Karolina Lindholm Billing, Representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner in Ukraine and discussed helping IDPs. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the Lviv RMA.

Munyed Al Muderis, world-renowned doctor, brought prosthetics technology to Lviv. The patient can walk the very next day after the surgery. This technology is called osseointegration prosthetics, which means an artificial limb implanted in bone. It was brought from Australia to the Unbroken Center of the First Medical Association of Lviv. There are 500 such prostheses installed in the world and in April, the first prosthesis is to be installed in a Ukrainian.

The “Azov” recruiting center opened in Lviv. Volunteers can sign up and get answers to all questions related to service in “Azov” there.

The Horodotsk Central Hospital received medicines, dressing materials, systems and syringes, painkillers and antibiotics, from the St. Thaddeus CF.

Educational institutions of Lviv oblast received 137 laptops from the World Vision International Ukraine CF.

Regional children’s institutions of the oblast received 2 buses filled with humanitarian aid, namely, bicycles, rollers, scooters, clothes and sweets, from the Charity and Support Fund “Victory” of the city of Siauliai, Lithuania, and volunteers of the Humanitarian Center of Ukraine.

A 9-year-old volunteer from the town of Komarno, Lviv region, sent a car, a drone, walkie-talkies, clothes and thermal clothing, shoes and food to the soldiers at the front. Anna-Maria German is blind, but has been actively helping the defenders since the war began. Singing in cities of Lviv oblast, she collected over UAH 650K.

During the hostilities that took place in Chernihiv oblast, occupiers destroyed 26 school buses. Some other buses were also transferred to the needs of the army. To replenish the bus fleet, 6 school buses were sent from Lviv oblast to Chernihiv oblast.

Colonel Valerii Kurko, Commander of the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,  received the Golden Cross of the Military Chaplaincy Center of the Lviv Archdiocese of the UGCC. The award was presented by the abbot of the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of the UGCC, Fr. Taras Mykhalchuk and military chaplain of the Harnizon Church, Fr. Nestor Kyzyk.

Rivne oblast

Fighters in the Bakhmut direction received 4 cars from workers of the Rivne NPP, who continue to transfer at least 3% of their salaries every month to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Maksym Hnatiuk, fallen defender from Rivne oblast, was posthumously awarded with the 3rd degree Order “For Courage”. The comrade-in-arms presented the award to the Hero’s mother and wife.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with heads of regional military administrations, communities and heads of education management bodies. They discussed shelters and protective structures.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The rehabilitation center on the basis of the polyclinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Khmelnytskyi, helps wounded policemen, border guards, national guardsmen and military personnel recover. By the way, the police note that over 4,5K Ukrainian defenders have already been rehabilitated in the medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since the war began.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of Leader, the Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities. 4 projects implemented by the NGO with the financial support of the Japanese organization AAR Japan[難民をるる会] were discussed.

The Chernivtsi RMA and the USAID Program “Decentralization Brings Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) signed a memorandum of cooperation.

 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Canada will provide Ukraine with a preferential loan of almost $2 billion.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that France recognized Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Serbia sent four trucks of humanitarian aid, including various electronic devices and elements of the electrical infrastructure, to Ukraine.

The National Council (Parliament) of the Slovak Republic adopted a declaration condemning the crimes committed by russia against Ukrainian women and children. The Parliament also called on the Prosecutor General of the Slovak Republic, Maros Zylinka, to investigate whether the forced transportation of children from Ukraine to russia is genocide.

The US Department of Commerce reported that the US introduced sanctions against two russian companies – Aviatech and Aviazapchast.

Spain will send Leopard tanks to Ukraine after Easter. According to the media, the tanks have been repaired at the plant in Seville, and this week they are participating in firing exercises at the Cerro Muriano maneuver range in Cordoba.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, arrived at the Zaporizhzhia NPP controlled by the russian occupation army. Energoatom reports that Grossi plans to see how the situation at the ZNPP has changed, and talk with the workers. He should also act as a guarantor of the rotation of members of the Agency’s permanent mission, working at the Zaporizhzhia NPP since September 2022.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China said that they positively evaluate Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s invitation to visit Ukraine, which he sent to Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Lloyd Austin, US Defense Minister, stated that in the future, Ukraine will certainly receive F-16 fighters or other IV generation aircraft, but now the partners should focus on the transfer of air defense systems, missiles and armored vehicles.

Joe Biden, US President, said that he is concerned about the decision of the russian dictator putin to place nuclear weapons in belarus.

The Internal Security Agency of Poland detained three people who were spying for russia. This is a whole network of people whose task was to collect information about routes and transports arriving in Ukraine. The spies disseminated specific content against Poland, created on the order of the russian side.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that British traveler Bear Grylls became the first British ambassador of UNITED24 and will promote the Rebuilding Ukraine project.  Also, his educational company, together with Amazon, is developing the BecomingX Ukraine educational platform for Ukrainians.

Poland introduced the Dom Odbudowy Ukrainy initiative to protect and restore the architectural heritage of Ukraine. This is a project designed to help Ukrainians protect monuments from destruction as a result of the war and help rebuild Ukrainian cities. The Polish capital also participated in the preparation of applications for the inclusion of three Ukrainian cities (Odesa, Kharkiv and Chernihiv) in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Yellow Ribbon movement was held in Brussels, a rally of solidarity with Ukrainian activists who continue to fight in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Members of the European Parliament joined the action, drawing graffiti of a yellow ribbon on the banner.

Yevhen Maloletka, Ukrainian photojournalist, became one of the winners of the regional stage of the most prestigious international photo award World Press Photo. He won with the photo report “Siege of Mariupol”.

David Guetta, popular DJ, made a remix of the song “Oh in the meadow red viburnum” performed by Andrii Khlyvniuk, leader of the Boombox band.

The Pentagon plans to release a deck of playing cards for the Ukrainian military with images of NATO weapons, delivered to Kyiv in aid. Cards will help fighters distinguish between weapons as  training tools. One deck contains 52 cards with images of tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery, MLRS, etc.
