It has been the 390th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy launched 13 air and 4 missile strikes, as well as 7 MLRS attacks. 

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile attacks. 

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Sloboda, there were no significant changes. The enemy shelled the vicinities of settlements of Seredyna-Buda, Sopych, Starykove, Atynske, Kostiantynivka, Kindrativka, Volfyne, Oleksandrivka, Popivka, Sumy oblast, Kamianska Sloboda, Khrinivka, Chernihiv oblast, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Vovchansk, Zemlianky, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kamianka, and Krasne, Kharkiv oblast. 

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, Kupiansk, Krokhmalne, Berestove, Kharkiv oblast, Nevske, Pischane, Bilohorivka, Dibrova, Luhansk oblast, Spirne, Torske, and Novoselivka, Donetsk oblast, were shelled with artillery once again. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives towards Novoselivske. 

Towards Bakhmut, the occupiers continue their attempts to capture the city of Bakhmut. Positional fighting does not cease there. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske. Minkivka, Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Bakhmut, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Dyliivka, and New York, Donetsk oblast, were shelled by the enemy.

Towards Avdiivka, Mariinka, Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations towards the settlements of Berdychi, Avdiivka, and Sieverne. Novobakhmutivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Lastochkyne, Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Mariinka, Vuhledar, and Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast, among others, came under enemy fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is on the defensive. The vicinity of a number of settlements were shelled. Among them are Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhya oblast, Vremivka, Novopil, Novosilka, Donetsk oblast, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Kozatske, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Blahovishchenske, Dniprovske, Bilozerka, and Berehove, Kherson oblast.

The russian invaders continue to suffer huge losses and increase the number of hospitals along the front line. Thus, one of the occupiers’ hospitals is located in the building of a local hospital in the settlement of Rozivka, temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. About 50 gravely wounded russian servicemen were brought there. The occupiers also set up a hospital in the building of a local school in the settlement of Vysoke, Zaporizhzhia oblast. A large number of the gravely wounded were brought there on March 19 with 4 KAMAZ-based medical trucks.

The Ukrainian Air Forces launched 9 air strikes on buildups of occupiers. In the meantime, missile and artillery units hit 3 buildups of manpower, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy.

According to the head of SES of Ukraine Serhii Kruk, 68 rescuers have been killed since the war began. 201 employees are wounded, 5 are in the russian captivity. 

“War kids” platform informs that 308 Ukrainian kids illegally deported to russia were brought back home. Occupiers deported 16 226 Ukrainian minors. 464 kids were killed, 935 wounded, 387 are deemed missing. 


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian federation shelled at least 12 settlements.

Kharkiv Regional Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support reported that the hero of Ukraine, Oleh Adamovskyi, who died in March 2022 in the battle for the city, was reburied in Kharkiv.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed that the enemy continues to shell the border settlements of Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv regions. Yesterday, Vovchansk, Kupiansk, Dvorichna, Starytsia, Berestove and other cities and villages were under enemy attack.

The invaders launched over 10 mortar attacks on Oleksandrivka and Tymofiivka villages in Bohodukhiv region. At least 5 private buildings were damaged there.

At 11 am, Kupiansk was attacked. In the evening, after 8 pm, the enemy shelled Vovchansk. There were no casualties.

Humanitarian de-mining continues. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service examined more than 2 hectares of territory, where 10 pieces of explosive ordnance were removed and defused.

Donetsk oblast

Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, spokesman for the joint press centre of the Tavriisk Defence Forces noted that Avdiivka could become the second Bakhmut. He confirmed the British intelligence data and said that the situation towards Avdiivka is becoming more tense. Russians constantly try to surround the city north of the currently occupied Donetsk. But, according to him, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine predicts the actions of russian units in advance.

Project Phoenix reported on its Facebook page that a Czech volunteer medic was seriously injured during a shelling in Donbas.

In the middle of the night, russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk. There are damaged buildings, according to preliminary information, without casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, a building was destroyed in Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community.

Towards Donetsk, the enemy shelled the outskirts of Kurakhove community, damaging power lines. Tonenke and Sieverne in Ocheretyne community were targeted. In Mariinka community, Mariinka, Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka suffered. Avdiivka was shelled with artillery and Grad MRLs in the morning, two streets and the territory of the Avdiivka Coke Plant were damaged.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured, 3 apartment buildings and 3 private buildings damaged in Kostiantynivka. There is information about 1 injured person and 3 damaged apartment buildings in Bakhmut. It was loud on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar and Soledar communities.

There was shelling in Siversk and Serebrianka of Siversk community and in Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed two civilians in Bakhmut and Kostiantynivka.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in Novoselivske, Kreminna and Bilohorivka. They shelled Novoselivske, Nevske and Bilohorivka with artillery.

Luhansk Regional Civil-Military Administration reported that russian invaders are looking for pro-Ukrainian activists in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast. Recently, in order to identify them, they launched vehicles with Ukrainian flags and watched people’s reactions. The administration added that special attention was paid to local businessmen registered in Ukraine. They also checked school students who were absent from school because of their possible remote education in Ukrainian schools.

Referring to the Luhansk RMA, the invaders are provoking people to search for partisans in Bilokurakyne region, pharmacies in many occupied cities lack the most necessary medicines and people are queuing daily outside banks.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, during another alert, a hostile UAV-type object was detected in the airspace north of Kyiv. The target was destroyed by air defense forces.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration signed an order to change the curfew in Kyiv starting from 26 March 2023. The curfew will last from 00:00 to 05:00 on a daily basis. The Kyiv City State Administration reported that a decision to reduce the curfew was made after the system of engineering obstacles in the capital improved.

The Ministry of Energy has warned about the possible implementation of power limitations in the grid in the oblast. As of this morning, power generation continues to fully meet the needs of consumers, but there may be limitations due to repair works planned in Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts.

According to the Kyiv Regional Medical Association, doctors and tactical medicine instructors from Kyiv oblast learn from the experience of their American colleagues in dealing with injuries in tactical conditions. ATLS courses and Gunpowder military exercises are held in Maryland (USA) at the Military Medical University.

Veteran business support programme # ВАРТО РОБИТИ СВОЄ (START YOUR OWN TRADE) was announced in Kyiv. Under this support programme, defenders of Ukraine and their family members can receive from UAH 500,000 to UAH 1.5 million to develop and start their own business. This year, the company plans to implement 9 grant programmes in the following areas: a general programme for veteran businesses, entrepreneurship for the defense industry and in manufacturing specialities, business for energy efficiency, support for the agro-industrial complex and all-Ukrainian NGOs.

An event to support internally displaced persons and socially vulnerable residents of the district was held in Obukhiv district. More than 400 food parcels donated by Polish friends from the Poznan region were distributed at the event. It was arranged by the Proksen Charitable Foundation and the humanitarian headquarters of the district military administration.

Ukrinform hosted a tactical medical training, where journalists rehearsed scenarios of emergency care and evacuation in combat situations and civil life. All theoretical skills, including evacuation of a casualty using a tactical stretcher, were drilled in teams according to different scenarios. The training was supported by the Institute for War and Peace Research (IWPR).

The city council reported that students of Bucha Lyceum #5 arranged a charity fair in Kyiv oblast. 117 thousand hryvnias raised during the event will be used to purchase a drone and a laser rangefinder for certain units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that there are 66,918 internally displaced persons in Zhytomyr oblast. The largest number of IDPs moved from Donetsk oblast, also people from Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea found refuge in the oblast. Most IDPs live in Zhytomyr district.

According to the Ukrenergo, due to significant damage to networks caused by numerous russian attacks, power consumption limitations continue in Zhytomyr oblast.

Despite the war, Zhytomyr doctors keep the bar high and perform successful surgeries. In Zhytomyr, doctors from the Heart Institute performed a heart transplant for the first time, a young girl with a rare fourth (AB) blood type received a new heart. Simultaneous transplantation of three organs was performed at the Zhytomyr Regional Hospital – for the first time, a heart, a liver and a kidney from one donor were transplanted to three different patients. All three operations were free of charge for the patients.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Military Administrative District reported that yesterday, the russians shelled the territories of Khotin, Shalyhine, Esman, Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Seredyno-Buda, and Bilopillia communities. The enemy used mortar and cannon artillery fire, and opened fire from AGS and dropped VOG-type explosive devices from UAVs. 

According to the regional police, russian troops launched 23 shells at border settlements in Sumy oblast. As a result of shelling, the premises of a dairy farm, the building of a psychoneurological boarding school, and a private house were damaged.

At night and in the morning, Seredyna-Buda and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under enemy fire. According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, there were 6 shells fired from barrel artillery, 10 mortar bombs and 6 shots from AGS. A private house was damaged as a result of the shelling.

The SES of Ukraine reported over the past week, 20 explosive devices were discovered in Sumy oblast. Among them were artillery shells and rounds from anti-tank and under-barrel grenade launchers. They were found on the territory of Okhtyrka, Shostka, Konotop, and Sumy regions. In total, since the beginning of 2023, 46 cases of UXO discovery have been recorded in Sumy oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, two communities of Chernihiv oblast came under hostile fire yesterday. Novhorod-Siverska community was shelled by russian military with self-propelled artillery systems. There were 10 explosions. Six explosions from 120-mm mortars took place in the border area of Snovsk community.

Shelling of the border areas continues. According to the “North” operational command, as of 5 p.m., there were 17 mortar bombs fired in the area of Karpovychi, Leonivka, and Tymonovychi.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the central operational control room of the regional centre for emergency medical care and disaster medicine will have an autonomous power supply. Due to the Finnish company Playgreen Finland Oy and with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Finland, a solar energy system will be installed in the Centre. The cargo with more than a hundred panels and necessary equipment has already arrived in the oblast.

The Regional Military Administration reported that it has been agreed to extend the USAID “Building Public Trust” project in Chernihiv oblast for another three years. Within a short period of time, specialized equipment was purchased to improve emergency response capabilities and ensure quality training, and significant support was provided to the regional SES due to this project.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the occupiers attacked Marganets community in Nikopol region with drones twice. 

A charity auction was held in Dnipro. The flag found on the ruins of a house on Naberezhna Peremohy was among the lots. It was sold for 30 thousand hryvnias. The fund will use all the proceeds to buy adaptive clothing for rehabilitation of the military and cover other needs of the military towards Donetsk.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Vinnytsia City Council reported that more than 200 families of the defenders of the Vinnytsia community received kits with essential products. The aid was implemented within the framework of the “Vinnytsia residents are important” initiative in cooperation with the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters. 

Head of the Vinnytsia regional organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, Vadym Vitkovskyia, said that a book by an internally displaced woman from Mariupol, Liubov Shuliak, “Mariupol Diary”, was presented. The woman shared the story about 162 days she spent under russian occupation. Now Liubov lives in Germany, where her husband is undergoing treatment. Part of his foot was torn off during the shelling. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovohrad oblast, with the support of the international organization “Orange”, handed over trench candles, gas cylinders filled with vodka, medical kits, and thermal blankets to fighters of 177 separate battalions of 121 separate territorial defense brigades.

Poltava oblast

In Kremenchuk, a court hearing began on the death of Amstor employee Larysa Kokhanivska  killed by a russian missile that hit the shopping center on June 27.

Poltava volunteers collected medicines, hygiene products, trench candles, vitamin honey mixtures, food products, and children’s drawings from Pischane community. This time, students and teaching staff from a local educational institution joined the charity collection. The aid was sent to the front line.

Cherkasy oblast

During the charity exhibition of the works of polar explorer and photographer from Kaniv “Dance of the Penguin”, residents of Kaniv collected UAH 12.000 for a night vision device PVS 14 NW1 for a local Andrii Bililovets and his combat fellows.

In the Katerynopil Lyceum # 1 in Cherkasy oblast, they held the campaign “You hand in the russian book – you support the AFU.” 22 flags were purchased for the Armed Forces for half a ton of russian books. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not significantly changed. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding occupied borders. The enemy launched 114 attacks at the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using tank weapons, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire line of contact.

The police documented 207 enemy strikes in Zaporizhzhia oblast during previous 3 days. The russians used various types of weapons to attack civilian and residential infrastructure of the regional center, Polohy and Vasylivka regions. As a result of the armed attack, three civilians were fatally wounded, and two hospitalized. The occupying forces launched missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia, attacked Orikhiv, Charivne, Huliaipilske and Zaliznychne from aviation, and used UAVs on Huliaipole and Olhivske. In addition, the villages of Novoandriivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Novopavlivka, Bilohiria, Poltavka, Chervone, Preobrazhenka, Hulyaipilske, Plavni, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianskoe suffered from enemy attacks.

The russian military damaged a German-style house of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the village of Dobropillia, Polohy region. The roof of the building was destroyed as the result of shelling by the russian army. This house is a rare example of German heritage, built in 1890.

The russian occupiers continue to exert psychological pressure on the local population in order to force them to obtain citizenship of the russian federation. The counter-intelligence regime has been reinforced in the settlement of Azovske. The local population is actively checked for the presence of a russian passport. Citizens who do not have it are forced to put up with additional checks and detention.

The russian military set up a field hospital in the building of the local hospital in Rozivka village. According to the General Staff, about 50 seriously wounded russian servicemen were brought there. The occupiers set up a hospital in the building of a local school in the village of Vysoke, Zaporizhzhia oblast. During March 19, a large number of seriously wounded personnel were brought there. The enemy used 4 medical trucks based on KAMAZ vehicles to transport the wounded troops.

The evacuation of vulnerable categories of the population to safer regions of Ukraine continues in Zaporizhzhia oblast. As of today, there are 866 people with mental disorders in social welfare institutions. The temporary placement of 111 wards in residential institutions located in the central part of Ukraine has already been agreed upon. It is also planned to take 26 people with mental illnesses and the elderly to the western regions of the country soon.

Mykolaiv oblast

Today, a delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Ukraine Arad Bencko arrived in Mykolaiv on a working visit. One of the key issues discussed by the parties was the job market in the region, the agro-industrial sector and its development. Arad Benkyo shared details about projects that Austria is implementing in Mykolaiv oblast and assured of increasing the level of further cooperation for restoration of the region. As of March 2023, the total amount of aid provided to Ukraine by Austria amounted to about 197 million euros. As part of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, Austria sent 60 convoys with humanitarian aid. Specifically today Austrian friends brought 50 powerful generators for the needs of Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday, agricultural equipment was blown up on a mine during the land cultivation for sowing spring crops in the village of Novopetrivka, Bashtanka region. The owner of the company, businessman Iurii Kormyshkin, was injured and is hospitalized now. The tractor driver is alive.

Volunteers have started the energy bars production, handed over to the soldiers near Bakhmut. Dried fruit products can be stored for several weeks. Volunteers use honey, nuts, dried apples, pears, prunes and oatmeal to make bars.

Odesa oblast

As of today, there are no russian Kalibr missile carriers in the Black Sea. In total, five russian warships are on combat duty. There is one russian ship in the Sea of Azov. This was reported by the South Operational Command.

Residents of Kodyma community, Odesa oblast, sent five drones to the front. The unmanned aerial vehicles were handed over to “Vinnytsia Scythians” military battalion, which fights the enemy in the hottest points of hostilities.

Yesterday, on the first day after the extension of the “grain agreement”, a caravan loaded with Ukrainian agricultural products entered the ports of Great Odesa. Bulk carriers NEGMAR CICEK, ASL ILEANA, RIZABEY and SSI PRIDE should dock in the port of Chornomorsk, and BC CALLISTO and DENIZ M – in the port of Odesa. Another ship loaded with Ukrainian food left the port of Pivdenny yesterday. Dry cargo ship DS SOFIE BULKER has set course for the port of Immingham (Great Britain). There are currently about 80 dry cargo ships and tankers awaiting inspection at the entrance to the Bosphorus.

Kherson oblast

The russians shelled the village of Veletenske. A woman was injured. The village of Lvove was also shelled. Two men were injured there. Enemy shells damaged the church, doors of houses and a minibus in Antonivka. 2 people were injured and at least five houses were damaged in the village of Mykilske, as a result of russian shelling.

An 18-year-old boy was blown up by an enemy mine in a forest lane outside the village of Stanislav. Due to severe injuries, he died on the spot. A 35-year-old man came across enemy explosives in the forest near the village of Mala Oleksandrivka. The victim was seriously injured. He lost his left lower leg.

Yesterday, russian invaders attacked peaceful settlements in Kherson oblast 86 times. 385 shells were fired from mortars, MLRS, artillery, tanks, drones, BMP and AGS. The residential quarters of Kherson were shelled three times by the russian military. Private and apartment buildings were damaged in the city. As a result of the russian shelling, six people received injuries of various degrees of severity. The police opened 17 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian military in Kherson oblast.

The occupiers limit the population’s access to medical services in the left-bank Kherson oblast. Doctors were ordered not to provide medical services to people without an insurance policy of the russian federation, which cannot be issued without a russian passport. This way, the occupiers hope to force the population to apply for russian citizenship.

Serhii Moskalenko, the organizer of torture rooms in Kherson oblast, was liquidated a few days ago in the temporarily occupied territory. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence. The traitor cooperated with the russians during the occupation, and received the position of head of the pre-trial detention center, where inhumane torture was perpetrated on captured Ukrainians.

The power supply was partially restored in the village of Zarichne, Vysokopillia community. The settlement was cut off from electricity supply for about a year due to russian aggression. The electricity was supposed to be restored in Zarichne only in May. However, local residents helped the energy workers with reparation works. Today, the power was restored for the first 63 consumers. Work on connecting homes to the network continues. According to the Kherson RMA, yesterday, energy companies restored electricity supply in two villages of Velyka Oleksandrivka community: 56 consumers were connected to the network in Tokareve, 73 in Bilousove.

25 Ukrposhta stationary branches have resumed their operation in the liberated Kherson oblast. Local residents can receive a number of postal services there, send or receive a parcel, pay utility bills, buy essential goods, receive pension and other payments, etc. Also, mobile post offices run through populated areas of the region. Their specialists serve 201 villages and settlements.

Volyn oblast

The Lutsk city community has started receiving technical salt for water purification in heat supply systems from the United States Agency for International Development.

A charity concert of the band “Druha Rika” for the Volyn border detachment took place. The musicians came to Lutsk with a charity concert as part of the “Another River” tour, the performance for the border guards was unplanned.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that Head of the Department of International Police Cooperation of the National Security Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia oblast, police lieutenant colonel Ihor Shymoniak, received the Order of Courage, III degree, from the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that the NGO “Union of Volunteers of the Carpathians” in cooperation with the Logistics Center delivers parcels from relatives free of charge to soldiers who are currently in combat positions.

Prykarpattia received 15 generators and 30 heating devices thanks to the Malta Relief Service and Mediprime LLC. These devices will be sent to Invincibility Centers and used in IDPs shelters during emergency situations.

Lviv oblast

Medics from Donetsk oblast received 1K bulletproof vests from the Lviv Defense Cluster (LDC). The LDC completely covered the need for medics of Donetsk oblast in personal protective equipment, specialized antifragile body armor.

Lviv received 6 generators from the international fund ALIPH. Liliia Onyschenko, adviser to the mayor of Lviv on matters of cultural heritage preservation, said that the equipment is intended for cultural institutions, namely theaters, museums, organ halls, etc.

In the church of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos, the OCU of the village of Remeniv, Lviv district, a charity event “God save Ukraine” was held. Over UAH 16K collected were donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A military man returned home to Zolochiv district after a russian capture that lasted over six months. Peter was released in early February. At first he underwent rehabilitation. After that, he finally returned home.

In Novoiavorivsk, with the participation of clergymen and parishioners of all denominations, a Holy Procession “To the sounds of war” took place. They marched through the streets of the city for the first time.

The “Men’s Games” took place in Staryi Sambor, a complex one-day competition for teams of military formations based in Lviv oblast. The competition took place for the first time in a test format. The competition was organized by the Lviv Regional Organization of the FST “Kolos” with the support of the Department of Youth and Sports of Lviv oblast.

The RMA reported that three soviet-era monuments were liquidated in the Medenytsk community.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that 2.7K unemployed migrants have applied to the Rivne Regional Employment Center since the war began.

Since the beginning of the year, 22 employers have received state compensation for employing 57 people from among IDPs. This payment is monthly for each employed person and amounts to UAH 6,7K.

Ternopil oblast

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The wife Oksana and daughter Mariia of the fallen defense attorney from Shepetivka Ruslan Plakhov received his award, the order “For Courage” of the 2nd degree, which he was awarded in August 2022. Chernivtsi oblast

21 territorial communities received 161 stoves for heating from the regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine.

The Chernivtsi regional personnel training and advisory center conducted online training on the topic: “Features of land relations under martial law. Changes in legislation”. 70 people took part in the event. These are specialists of land departments of territorial communities, land surveying engineers, managers of agricultural enterprises, institutions and organizations.

The “Peace Relay” was launched by the “Lviv Children’s Gallery” CF in February 2022 within the framework of the 20th International Children’s Art Forum “Golden Easel”.
