It has been the 384th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.


What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian aggressors focus on offensive operations towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Shakhtarsk. They keep on trying to reach the borders of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.  

The enemy launched 30 airstrikes and 8 missile attacks, including one on Kramatorsk. A 3-storey building was damaged. There are casualties among civilians. The occupiers also struck the city of Zatoka, Odesa oblast. The missile debris damaged one of the premises of “Zolota Rybka” kids’ camp. There are no casualties among civilians. 

The invaders also launched over 33 MLRS attacks. 

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile strikes. 

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the operational situation did not significantly change. The enemy is erecting defensive constructions in border areas with Briansk and Kursk oblasts. Troops are stationed in Belgorod oblast to conduct simulation actions to prevent Ukrainian units from redeploying to other directions. The enemy shelled the vicinity of Arkhypivka, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Kolos and Yeline, Chernihiv oblast; Ukrainske, Znob-Novhorodske, Seredyna-Buda, Romashkove, Bachivsk, Starykove, Volfyne, Hrabovske and Porozok, Sumy oblast; Huriiv Kozachok, Kozacha Lopab, Hraniv, Krasne, Bolohivka, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna and Zapadne, Kharkiv oblast. 

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy was attempting to break through Ukrainian defense. A number of settlements were once again shelled with artillery: Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Masiutivka, Krokhmalne, Kharkiv oblast; Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka and Zolotarivka, Luhansk oblast. The occupiers launched the offensive towards Bilohorivka, but made no success.  

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy is assaulting the city where battles are raging. Ukrainian defenders repelled the attacks in the vicinity of settlements of Yahidne, Khromove and Orikhovo-Vasylivka. The enemy shelled at Nykyforivka, Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kostiantynivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka and Dyliivka, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, Mariinka and Shakhtarsk, the enemy launched the offensive towards Kamianka, Nevelske, Novokalynivka and Mariinka, but had no success. Berdychi, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Netailove, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, Mariinka, Heorhiivka and Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast, were attacked. 

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is on the defensive. The settlements bordering the front line were shelled, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Bilohiriia, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Zarichne, Zaliznychne, Kamianske, Mariivka and Novosilka, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Kachkarivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Dniprovske, Berehove, Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson. 

The enemy exercised filtration measures against civilians with support of local collaborators on the temporarily occupied settlement of Abrykosivka. They were searching homes, checking laptops, computers and cell phones since the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit one of russian bases. As a result of this strike, 4 units of armored equipment (armored vehicles/self-propelled guns) were destroyed and at least 15 occupiers eliminated. A number of wounded is being verified. 

Around 1K russian soldiers have been accommodated these days on the territory of shore-based recreational centers in Yalta, Donetsk oblast. Hence all neighbor streets and beaches have been closed, additional checkpoints put, foot patrol increased twofold. Defensive constructions have been erected, trenches arranged on the territory of recreational centers immediately where occupiers are stationed. Firing training seawards has also intensified from various weapons. 

Air defense forces of Ukraine launched 9 strikes on buildups of manpower and military equipment of occupiers, while rocket troops and artillery of Ukraine struck 2 areas of buildup of occupiers’ manpower.


According to the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Ukraine, 250 sportsmen were killed as a result of large-scale invasion. 28 sportsmen are in captivity now, 6 are deemed missing. 95 sport facilities were completely or partially destroyed, 248 significantly or partially damaged. 

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported that the draft law on increasing the state budget expenses by 537 billion UAH was approved. Additional payments will be allocated to soldiers as well as for purchase of military and specialized weapons and equipment. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has to ratify the draft law. 

The press service of the Ministry of Defense informed that production of 125-mm tank missiles was launched. This is the second ammunition which concern brought into production in partnership with NATO countries abroad. Due to safety reasons, it will be produced outside Ukraine. However, Ukrainian engineers, casters, and molders are also involved in production. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russians tried to attack Dvorichna and Hrianykivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy attacks. At least 13 settlements were attacked.

Anna Huschyna, head of the press service of the Kharkiv operational grouping, confirmed that aerial reconnaissance of the State Border Guard Service destroyed a russian infantry fighting vehicle towards Kupiansk along with its personnel.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that with the help of international partners, Kharkiv oblast has received 17 powerful generators. The generators with a capacity of 168 to 440 kW were purchased as part of a project implemented by the UN Office with funding from the Government of Japan and delivered to the region with the help of the Turkish government.

The Prosecutor’s Office said that a russian missile hit a car in Kolodiazne village in Kupiansk region, killing a 42-year-old man inside. This is the second civilian car that the russian military destroyed in Kharkiv oblast during the day. In the morning, a shell hit a car in Vovchansk, a 55-year-old woman was killed and the 47-year-old driver injured.

The enemy continues to shell the border settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions. Yesterday,d Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Krokhmalne, Kupiansk, Strilecha, Vovchansk and other settlements were targeted.

In Vovchansk, at least 4 private residential buildings and the building of the fire and rescue unit of the State Emergency Service were damaged as a result of enemy shelling. Two rescue vehicles were destroyed. There were no casualties.

A 41-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, who had received shrapnel wounds the day before, were evacuated and hospitalized from Hrianykivka, Kupiansk region. Doctors assess their condition as moderate.

Donetsk oblast

One person was killed and 9 injured as a result of the morning shelling of Kramatorsk with an X-58 cruise missile. Russians hit downtown with the missile. Law enforcement and rescuers are working on the site. According to the Kramatorsk City Council, 25 apartment buildings, one private building, a kindergarten, a museum and an administrative building were damaged.

Towards Donetsk, there was an air strike on Avdiivka at night, three missiles hit the territory of industrial enterprises and one hit a residential area. In the morning, russians launched another airstrike on Lastochkyne in Ocheretyne community. Kurakhove was shelled, a park and a building damaged. 

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were killed and 7 injured in Kostiantynivka. 18 private buildings and 4 apartment buildings were damaged. 1 building was damaged in Ivanopillia. 1 person was injured in Bakhmut. Toretsk was attacked. There were no casualties. In Soledar community, 1 person was injured and 11 buildings damaged in Nykyforivka.

Towards Lysychansk, Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community were shelled. In Siversk community, the administrative building was damaged. It was loud in Serebrianka.

One person was killed and at least two injured as a result of the enemy missile attack on Avdiivka. The enemy launched two missiles, one of them hit the school building where the humanitarian centre was located.

Five more civilians were injured in Kostiantynivka shelled by Uragan multiple rocket launchers.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed 3 civilians: 1 in Avdiivka and 2 in Kostiantynivka. 14 people were injured.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy is trying to break through the defense of our defenders. They conducted unsuccessful offensives in Bilohorivka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Kreminna, Nevske and Serebrianka forestry. They shelled Bilohorivka, Dibrova and Makiivka with artillery.

Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, informed that Ukrainian troops are constantly repelling attacks towards Bilohorivka, Kreminna and Svatove.

He also noted that the enemy is using aviation near Bilohorivka, trying to constantly attack the positions of our defenders. The situation is also difficult towards Kreminna and Svatove, but russians have made no progress.

Referring to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, 150 injured Wagner soldiers  were hospitalized in Bilovodsk. The invaders pledge to reinforce the police regime in the occupied territories. When going to russia, a resident of Luhansk oblast must get registered within a week.

Oleksandr Striuk, head of the Sievierodonetsk City Civil-Military Administration, said that the city has become a rear base for russian troops. Residents report an increase in the number of russian troops,  a complicated humanitarian situation and a lack of medicines.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir and Foreign Minister of Iceland Thordís Kolbrún Reykfjörður Gylfadóttir arrived in Kyiv. In the morning, the Icelandic delegation visited Bucha and Borodyanka. Later, they had a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Minister for European Affairs in the Council of Ministers of Poland, Shimon Shinkovskiy vel Senk, during the visit of the Polish government delegation to Kyiv, the parties discussed Ukraine’s European integration, sanctions policy, the participation of Polish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and other issues. He noted that the Ukrainian side also discussed the role of Poland and Polish companies in rebuilding Ukraine.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that Recruitment of volunteers to “Offensive Guard” brigades continues in Kyiv oblast. Patriots who have passed a rigorous selection and medical examination have already started exercises at the training fields.

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, decisions were made to improve the system of engineering obstacles in the capital. The risk of direct hostilities in Kyiv has been reduced to a minimum, so checkpoints and engineering obstacles that still serve as a defense measure will be improved. Some of the engineering obstacles will be put on standby, and others will be dismantled. These measures will make Kyiv more comfortable for residents.

Stabilization power outages were introduced in some regions of Kyiv oblast and the capital. According to DTEK, power facilities are unable to transmit power to all residents of these areas as a result of the damage done to the equipment. Repair works continue at the high-voltage network facilities damaged by the latest massive shelling.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that more than 11,000 facilities damaged as a result of the war have been restored in the oblast. Most of the residential infrastructure — about 9,700 multi-storey and private residential buildings — has been restored. Most of the work was carried out in Makariv, Ivankiv, Velyka Dymerka, Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel communities, which suffered the worst damage due to russian military aggression.

According to the regional military administration, a commemorative rally to honor the fallen heroes was held in Moshchun, where the defenders of Kyiv fought a fierce battle with the russian invaders. The event was attended by the families of the defenders, their brothers-in-arms, residents, regional, district and community leaders.

An exhibition “We have rights because we have sabers!” opened at the National Museum of History of Ukraine. The exhibition presents the history of weapons and military equipment on the territory of Ukraine from ancient times to the present. The museum’s specialists have been preparing the exposition for six months.

A record number of trench candles — 31,258 pieces — was made by children, volunteers and educators in Darnytsia district of Kyiv. All the trench candles will soon be sent to Ukrainian soldiers of 35 different military units fighting on the frontline.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that a meeting with the families of the 95th Air Assault Brigade soldiers was held at the coordination headquarters where they discussed treatment of POWs. Relatives and friends of servicemen who are in captivity or missing were provided with consultations on the conditions for obtaining the “captivity” accounting category, rights and possible actions.

New Ukrainian documentary film “Strong as the Earth” will be screened in Zhytomyr. This is a documentary about people who, despite the consequences of the war, continue to fight on the home front in Ukraine while the military holds the frontline. “Strong as the Earth” is a documentary project of the Network for the Protection of National Interests “ANTS”, created with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.

According to the city council, on the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer, kindergarteners congratulated soldiers undergoing treatment in Zhytomyr. This is not the first time that preschoolers and teachers have visited soldiers in hospitals to support them, send them various goodies and hundreds of postcards.

Sumy oblast

Yesterday, as a result of a russian missile attack on the village of Znob-Novgorodske in Sumy oblast, a civilian was killed and five people were wounded. The russian military launched 94 shells on the territory of 6 communities in the oblast: Bilopillia, Shalyhine, Krasnopillia, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, and Seredyno-Buda. The enemy used mortars and artillery (MLRS and self-propelled artillery units). There were 2 missile attacks, and 4 explosive devices were dropped from UAVs. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged.

Sumyoblenergo reported that emergency power outage schedules were introduced in Sumy oblast. Schedules were introduced as a necessary measure to maintain balance in the power grid.

According to the Sumy Regional Recruitment Centre, marksmanship training for servicemen, security company, and personnel of the regional recruitment center took place in Sumy oblast. The participants also completed a combat first aid course where everyone got an individual first aid kit, studied its contents and learned how to provide first aid.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the enemy continues shelling of the border areas of Chernihiv oblast. Yesterday, ten mortar bombs landed near the village of Yelino and 15 shells from MLRS – near Kolos village.

The Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that combined tactical and psychological training for servicemen took place in the Northern Operational Zone. In particular, these classes are designed to develop psychological resistance to various combat effects – explosions, flashes, any noise and shouting.

More than 1,000 criminal proceedings on war crimes committed by russian troops have been registered in Chernihiv oblast. Most of them were charged under articles indicating violations of the customs and laws of war: looting, destruction of civilian infrastructure, torture, and murder. In most cases, it was the local population who acted as the main witnesses and provided materials that later became part of the evidence base.

Charity event ‘Together to Victory’ was held in Pryluky to raise funds for the military. This event is a big creative marathon of educational and cultural institutions, local amateur groups. Everyone could take part in a charity lottery or join workshops on handkerchief making, artistic carving, and the basics of robotics. Thanks to charitable contributions, more than UAH 70K was raised.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk,  there have been 11 air alarms.  

The enemy shelled Pokrovsk, Marhanets communities. The city of Nikopol was shelled with heavy artillery and a drone. A fire broke out in one of the villages. A car was destroyed by the fire. As a result of the shelling, 10 private houses and half a dozen other commercial structures, a minibus, 2 cars, a shop, a private enterprise, gas furnaces, and electricity networks were damaged. A private house and a building of a private enterprise were mutilated in Nikopol.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhii Lysak informed about a russian drone, presumably Orlan-10, shot down in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Vinnytsia City Council reported that young visitors of VinSmart Centers make trench candles for soldiers. The other day, the children performed at a mini-concert, during which funds were collected for the purchase of paraffin as part of the “Give Warmth” campaign, which is ongoing in the community. The candles will later be handed over to defenders on the front line. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Military couple Taras and Olha Melster from Kropyvnytskyi were posthumously honored with state awards. They decided to defend Ukraine together after russian invasion. Before the full-scale war, Taras Melster was an IT specialist, and Olha worked as a confectioner. They were killed in June near the village of Borivske, Luhansk oblast.

In Kirovohrad oblast, volunteers, selected for the “Liut” brigade, successfully completed the first stage of training. 30 men, newly enrolled in the ranks of the police, were trained under the guidance of qualified instructors. They mastered the basics of tactical training, tactical medicine, physical and fire training.

Poltava oblast

The project “Dialogues about war” was presented at Poltava Academy of Continuing Education named after Ostrohradskyi. Teachers will be able to use it for patriotic upbringing of children. It contains three video conversations of a student with veterans of modern war on the topics: “What is war?”, “Why does russia want to take over Ukraine?” and “What is the modern russian-ukrainian war?”.

Cherkasy oblast

Natalia Boiko, a communications manager of the “One Hundred Percent Life Cherkasy” charitable organization, informed that a team of American doctors came to Cherkasy for the second time during the full-scale war. People who suffered from the war could make an appointment.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine awarded Cherkasy volunteer soldiers of the 118th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the situation has not significantly changed. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied borders. They launched 109 strikes  on the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using tank weapons, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire line of contact.

According to the report of the National Security Service in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of  the settlements of  Charivne, Zaliznychne, Yurkivka, Zarichne, Orikhiv, Huliaipilske, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Bilohiria, Olhivske, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka, Novoandriivka, Staroukrainka, Malynivka, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk.

46 reports were received about the destruction of  houses (apartments) of citizens and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

According to the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov, russian troops are massively shelling the occupied territories of Melitopol district to intimidate the population. There have been shelling before, but not as massive. There were more than 10 flights from the northern part of Melitopol, there were hits in the southern part of the city, the outskirts and on the coast of the Molochny estuary. 

Energoatom President Petro Kotin stated that in Enerhodar, the occupiers are gathering cars stolen from local residents on the territory of Zaporizhzhya NPP, as if they are preparing to escape.  According to him, the occupiers most often steal expensive cars or new cars from car dealerships. Now the russians have collected about 40 such cars on the territory of ZNPP. There were also signs of equipment removal.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to the Mykolaiv RMA, yesterday, the enemy carried out mortar attacks on the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.

The British Wintarization project is being implemented in Snihurivska community in Mykolaiv region. This is the first international project in the community to restore property damaged by the war.

Municipal utilities received humanitarian aid from the city of Kennemerland (Netherlands). These are three emergency rescue vehicles that utility service employees will use to respond to emergencies and in their daily work as needed.

Odesa oblast

Russian aviation launched a missile strike on Odesa oblast. Russian Su-24 aircraft fired 4 anti-radar missiles, presumably X-31P, towards the coast. Air defense destroyed the russian missiles over the sea. However, the debris and blast wave damaged a kindergarten on the coast and several private houses around. There were no casualties.

One of the oldest US magazines, The Atlantic, is preparing a series of publications about Ukraine, which has been resisting a full-scale war against the russian occupiers for a year now. To collect information, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Jeffrey Goldberg, came to Odesa together with the American historian, writer, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Anne Applebaum. The guests interviewed Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, in which they discussed the fight against russian narratives, rethinking the history of Odesa, moving away from the imperial and Soviet past, Odesa’s multiculturalism, and future urban projects.

Two defense ministers visited Odesa and Mykolaiv, Oleksiy Reznikov and his Dutch counterpart Kees Ollongren. They talked about the minesweepers that will be transferred to Ukraine to clear our sea of russian mines.

Kherson oblast

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the russian occupiers attacked Kherson 93 times, firing 412 shells. They fired from mortars, MLRS, artillery, tanks and UAVs.

The russian army shelled Kherson four times. The enemy shells hit private and apartment buildings. 1 person was killed, 6 people received injuries of various degrees of severity.

Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the “South” Operational Command, said that Ukrainian defenders are observing how the russian invaders are preparing to flee the left bank of Kherson region. They understand that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to push back the occupiers to reduce the number of attacks on the right bank of Kherson region.

According to the Kherson RMA, Kherson Vodokanal received a 280 kW generator. The humanitarian aid was provided by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

On the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer, in the regional center of Volyn, the memory of defenders who laid down their lives for the Ukrainian state was commemorated. Military personnel, representatives of the authorities and citizens laid flowers at the memorial stand of the “Heavenly Hundred” and honored the fallen with a moment of silence.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that the “Energy Help” program continues to operate in the oblast. The commission considers and approves business applications to compensate for purchased alternative sources of electricity.

The Uzhhorod City Council reported that the International Organization for Migration sent 4 pumps and a diesel generator to the Uzhgorod Water Canal.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, announced that humanitarian aid was sent to the 78th Territorial Defense Battalion from the city.

Svitlana Onyshchuk, head of the RMA, reported that military drills continue in Prykarpattia.

Lviv oblast

The Western Regional Center of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War became operational in Lviv. Relatives from Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Zakarpattia and Rivne oblasts can apply here. Lawyers, psychologists, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, prosecutor’s office, police, military commissariats and the Defense Forces will work here.

Lviv received part of the equipment within the framework of cooperation with the German company GIZ on providing city hospitals with modern diagnostic equipment. The St. Luke’s Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv received a solar power plant. The power of the station is 72 kW, the batteries are 50 kW.

The Boryslav community received an ambulance, a Jeep Patriot car, generators and food from Great Britain. Cars and two generators are for fighters at the front. 5 generators will be distributed according to the needs of the community.

The RMA reported that the Lviv Historical Museum received an innovative air dehumidifier system Dantherm CDT-40 (5 pieces) from the ALIPH Foundation.

In the village of Dovhe, Strii region, plaques commemorating Heroes were opened on the school facade. Oleg Pekar is a senior soldier killed in a tank battle for Mykolaiv on March 13, 2022. Yaroslav Levytskyi, a junior sergeant, was killed near the village of Kuzmine, Luhansk oblast, on January 27, 2023.

16-year-old Roman from Bakhmut is being treated at the Unbroken National Rehabilitation Center on the basis of the First Medical Association of Lviv. Bloodied, with an injury to his head and right hand, Roman managed to get out from under the rubble. He ran out of the house, which was already burning. The last moment his relatives also managed to escape from there.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that in oblast, border guard Iryna Railyan, who survived the hell of Mariupol and is waiting for her husband to be released from captivity, was one of the first to sign up for the “Assault Guard”. 

The city council reported that the Rivne Executive Committee decided to send a humanitarian cargo of over 20 tonnes of vegetables (carrots and potatoes) to Kherson community.

Ternopil oblast

Fighters of the “Offensive Guard” in Ternopil oblast have completed the first stage of training in basic military training and tactical medicine. There is still a lot of training ahead. The training of the personnel of the eight new “Offensive Guard” brigades will last from 2 to 4 months.
