War in Ukraine today: latest news, March 11, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 381st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:

The criminal russian government has not abandoned its intentions to occupy the territory of Ukraine by using both its own armed forces and PMCs and the armed groups of quasi-republics, continuing to wage full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.

The enemy conducted 12 air and 2 missile attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia. The S-300 system struck a civilian infrastructure facility. As a result, one building was destroyed. There were no civilian casualties or injuries. The enemy also launched 34 MLRS attacks, hitting a civilian infrastructure facility in Kherson. There are civilian casualties, two killed and three wounded. The likelihood of further missile strikes across Ukraine remains high.

The enemy’s main goal remains to reach administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The occupiers are focusing their efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk.

The operational situation towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda remains stable with no significant changes. The russian federation maintains a significant military presence in the republic of belarus, but without any obvious formation of offensive groups. At the same time, the enemy continues to fortify  border areas of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. During the day, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells near the settlements of Chervona Zoria, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk and Kamianka in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy maintains a significant military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine to prevent our units from being redeployed to other areas. Also, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops by shelling a number of settlements along the combat line, namely Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Masiutivka, Kyslivka and Pishchane in Kharkiv oblast; Novoselivske, Nevske, Kuzmine and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast, and Dibrova and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast. The enemy also made unsuccessful offensive attempts near the settlements of Hrianykivka in Kharkiv oblast and Spirne in Donetsk oblast. Having suffered losses in manpower and equipment, occupiers retreated to previously occupied positions.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continues to storm the city of Bakhmut, but our defenders are fighting back and repelling numerous attacks. Near the contact line, the enemy fired at the settlements of Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Dubove-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora and Zalizne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarsk, the enemy attempted offensive actions against Kamianka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka and Marinka in Donetsk oblast, yet failed. There were numerous hostile attacks in the areas of settlements near the contact line. These include Berdychi, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhia and Kherson, the enemy continues to defend itself. At the same time, the enemy continues to intensify its shelling of the nearest settlements, namely Malinivka, Huliaipole, Huliaipolske, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandrivka, Mari Shcherbaky and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and Novodmytriivka, Mikhailivka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Bilozirka, Dniprovske of Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson.

russian criminal authorities continue to take steps to forcibly passport residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. For example, the military leadership of the russian armed forces mandatorily requires all those mobilized from the previously occupied territories to sign long-term contracts for military service in the russian army. For this, among the other documents, a copy of a russian passport is required. Thus, the occupying forces are trying to get people to give up their “LPR/DPR passports” and acquire Russian citizenship. Otherwise, servicemen and their families could be denied all established payments and social protection offered to servicemen of the russian armed forces.

Aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on buildups of occupiers’ personnel and military equipment, while units of rocket forces and artillery hit 4 buildups of enemy personnel, one ammunition depot and 2 areas of deployment of electronic warfare stations.
