War in Ukraine today: latest news, March 06, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 376th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russia pursues its attempts to occupy Ukraine and continues the large-scale armed aggression. 

Key efforts are concentrated on offensive operations towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk. 

The enemy launched 42 air strikes and 5 missiles. Air strikes were accompanied with 11 attacks of Shahed-136 UAVs, 9 of which were brought down. Invaders also launched 10 MRLS attacks, including at civilian settlements. 

Ukraine is under the imminent threat of missile strikes.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the operational situation did not change. No formation of assault groups was detected. At the same time the enemy continues stationing its positions at the state border of Ukraine. The enemy fired from mortars and artillery at settlements of Senkivka, Chernihiv oblast; Starikove, Holyshivske, Pavlivka, Volfyne, Sumy oblast and Veterynarne, Strilecha, Krasne, Ternova, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Budarky, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy is attempting to break through Ukrainian positions. They attempted the unsuccessful attempts to launch the offensive operations towards Hrianykivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka and Fedorivka. The enemy fired from artillery at the settlements of Putnykove, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Krokhmalne, Kharkiv oblast; Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Chervonopopika, Dibrova, Luhansk oblast and Terny, Yampil, Rozdolivka, Fedorivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy is assaulting the city of Bakhmut and its outskirts disregarding losses of their manpower. They launched the assault towards Zaliznianske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske. They did not have any success. The enemy fired from artillery and mortars at Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Chesiv Yar, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Druzhba, maiorsk, Niu York, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk, the enemy launched the unsuccessful offensive operations towards Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Pobieda, Donetsk oblast. The settlements bordering the front line, including Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Mariinka, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast, were attacked. 

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is on the defensive. Vremivka, Donetsk oblast, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, as well as Shliakhove, Kozatske, Tiahynka, Chornobaivka, Bilozerka, Kherson oblast and Kherson were shelled. 

The enemy sustains great losses in manpower daily. They are constantly attempting to replenish their losses. Hence military commissariats were ordered to verify the personal data of the officers in reserve aged under 65 years old, as well as soldiers, sergeants and warrant officers aged under 50 years old in the temporarily occupied Donetsk. 

The military hospital operates in the premises of Donbas hotel in Kadiivka, temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast. The hospital is intended to deem the wounded russian soldiers of the 2nd division battle worthy and return them to the battlefield. The russian military command tries to operationally replenish the losses of its units.  

Ukrainian aviation launched 12 strikes on the occupiers’ buildups and equipment, as well as the positions of russian anti-missile and anti-aircraft systems. 

The rocket units and artillery hit 3 areas of occupiers’ buildup and their air defense system at firing positions.


Russian soldiers continue their genocide against Ukrainians. The atrocious video of shooting the captive unarmed Ukrainian defender after he exclaimed “Glory to Ukraine!” by russian soldiers. According to the Chief Prosecutor of Ukraine Andrii Kostin, the Chief Directorate of the State Security Service of Ukraine opened the criminal case on the fact of violating the laws and conventions of the war. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba urged the prosecutor of the international criminal court Karim Khan to start investigation into the shooting of the Ukrainian captive by russian soldiers. 

According to the ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine managed to return 307 kids to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories. 

The Ministry of Reintegration informed that Ukraine also returned 2 brothers from russia, one of them is 15 years old. 

According to the Ministry of Economy, the Restoration Army engaged 8.5 unemployed civilians. 56 million UAH were also paid in salary. This project engages the temporarily unemployed civilians to perform the socially useful work to rebuild the country. 

The Department of the UN High Commissioner for human rights recorded 21 793 civilian victims since the large-scale war began, 8173 among them are killed, 13 620 wounded.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops tried to advance near Hrianykivka, Dvorichna community. Russian army also shelled more than a dozen settlements.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that downtown of Kozacha Lopan settlement was hit with MRLS. Civilian infrastructure and the local unit of the State Emergency Service were damaged. There were no casualties.

The State Emergency Service press service reported that a 57-year-old woman died in a fire in Lozova community. Rescuers extinguished another fire in Babai. In Vovchansk, a private building was damaged and destroyed as a result of shelling.

The enemy continues to terrorize the civilian population of Kharkiv oblast, shelling the border settlements. Yesterday, Kupiansk, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Dvorichna and other settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts came under attack.

In Kupiansk, the shelling damaged a transport infrastructure facility and caused a fire. Yesterday, the enemy massively shelled Dvorichna, Kupiansk region, with tanks and self-propelled artillery systems.

Near Budarky village of Chuhuiv region, a russian munition, preliminary an ATGM, hit Nyva civilian car. A couple was killed – a 48-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman.

Donetsk oblast

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine stated that the Commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited the units defending Bakhmut and its surroundings again. The fighting for Bakhmut has reached the highest level of tension. Russian troops are engaging Wagner PMC into the battle for Bakhmut. Colonel Syrskyi noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending their positions in the north of Bakhmut, trying to prevent the city from being surrounded. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine caused significant losses to the russian army and destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced the enemy to send the best assault units of Wagner into the battle and reduced the offensive potential of the russian federation.

Head of the Kostiantynivka City Military Administration, Oleksii Roslov, reported that at about 5:10 pm, russians shelled Kostiantynivka. The missile strikes damaged a medium-pressure gas pipe.

On the night of March 6, russian troops launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk and destroyed a school. The shelling damaged 15 apartment buildings.

The day before, russian troops shelled three times the settlements of Kurakhove community – Dachne and the outskirts of Kurakhove. There were no casualties.

As a result of the missile shelling in Dachne, four two-apartment residential buildings, six private buildings, the facade, windows of an administrative building and a cultural institution were damaged.

Yesterday, russian troops launched 29 attacks and shelled 14 settlements in Donetsk region with X-59, S-300, Grad, Smerch MRLs, artillery, tanks and mortars.

Shelling destroyed and damaged 16 civilian objects, including 15 residential buildings and a school. Donetsk police informed that in Lyman, a civilian was injured as a result of the russian mine detonation.

At night, russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk, destroying a school. There were no casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, 1 person was injured in Vuhledar and the outskirts of the community shelled.

Towards Donetsk, in Kurakhove community, Dachne was shelled by Smerch MRLS, damaging 4 two-apartment and 6 private buildings, an administrative building and a cultural institution. Shelling of the old and central parts of Avdiivka continued throughout the night. There were no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 3 injured in Bakhmut. The administrative building in Toretsk community and the House of Prayer in Niu-York were damaged. Three buildings were damaged in Vasiukivka, Soledar community and two buildings in Chasiv Yar.

Towards Lysychansk, at least 10 buildings were damaged and destroyed in Pereizne, Zvanivka community. Buildings on three streets were damaged in Siversk and another building was partially destroyed in Zarichne, Lyman community.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that russians killed 1 civilian in Bakhmut yesterday. 5 people were injured.

Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, 1399 people have been killed and 3131 wounded in Donetsk oblast. The exact number of killed and injured in Volnovakha and Mariupol is unclear.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, said that there is no diesel fuel in Mariupol to fuel city buses, all the remaining fuel has been transferred to the russian military. Drivers are also on strike in the occupied city due to non-payment of wages.

Last week, explosive experts discovered and defused almost four dozen pieces of ammunition at a temporary explosive site in de-occupied settlements of the Lyman community. The specialists worked in Korovii Yar, Karpivka, near Serednie, Derylove and Novoselivka settlements, where they eliminated artillery, tank shells, Grad shells and grenades.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, Ukrainian troops repelled enemy attacks in Bilohorivka and Nevske. Towards Luhansk, there were 14 combat engagements, resulting in 34 occupiers eliminated and at least 62 injured. Two T-72 tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle and a Tulip self-propelled mortar were destroyed.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy shelled Kuzemivka, Bilohorivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka and Serebrianka forestry with artillery.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that the enemy is increasing the number of attacks and offensive operations both near Bilohorivka and Kreminna. The situation towards Svatove is more stable. Most of the militants are newly mobilized, but russians are also sending hybrid troops into the battle in Luhansk oblast.

Referring to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, two more enemy tanks were destroyed and 34 russians eliminated. The invaders give money for the birth of a child only with a russian passport. In Rubizhne, they offer to install windows if prepayment is made.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The KRMA reported that the Air Defense Forces shot down all enemy unmanned aerial vehicles that were flying towards Kyiv. Yuriy Ignat, Air Force Spokesman said that in total, air defense shot down 13 out of 15 Iranian kamikaze drones “Shahed-131/136” that attacked the central and eastern oblasts of Ukraine.

The National Police of Ukraine reported that law enforcement officers informed about the suspicion of three russian military personnel, who on March 5-6, 2022, shot 10 civilian cars in Irpin, Kyiv oblast. 9 people were killed and 12 injured due to the shelling. Local residents together with small children tried to escape from Irpin, but instead became a target for the russian military.

The Command of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the arrangement and strengthening of defense lines continues in the north of Ukraine. As part of a joint project with the volunteer organization “Oberig-26”, electric generators are provided to military units performing tasks in the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava oblasts. In particular, about 500 generators have already been handed over to troops defending the country in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.

The Deputy Mayor of Kyiv, head of the digital transformation of Kyiv Petro Olenych announced that the “Kyiv Digital” team together with the military launched a platform to help air defense forces “Safe Sky”. He called to join the work of the platform, and also noted that the most urgent need now is telecommunication kits for uninterrupted communication.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported on a meeting with Rolf Mützenich, Head of the Social Democratic Party of Germany faction in the Bundestag of Germany, and Lars Klingbeil, the SPD leader. It was about the need to strengthen support for Ukraine  with weapons, training of the Ukrainian military, and financial assistance.

The KCSA reported that nine children from Zaporizhzhia were evacuated to Kyiv, taking into account the unstable security situation in the oblast due to shelling by russian troops. The youngest child is 4 years old, the oldest is 13. They are currently adapting to a new place – they have been placed in the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children.

Field crews of the Kyiv City Blood Center will work in the capital. They will set out according to a special schedule developed taking into account the territorial principle.

On the anniversary of the occupation of Bucha, the premiere of the project “Bucha: City of the Unbreakable” took place. On the YouTube channel of the local media TheBuchacity, a 20-minute documentary series – interviews with Bucha residents,  volunteers, businessmen and military – will be released every Thursday. The film is designed not only to document the crimes of the occupiers, but also to prove that life and recovery are possible after all the horrors.

The buildings of the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv began to be decorated with murals based on the paintings of Maria Prymachenko. The hospital says that they plan to create a “gallery of modern Ukrainian art in the open air” on its territory. Murals will become a tool for art therapy practices.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr Road Service reports from March 7 to March 11, road crews will block the road near the villages of Toporyshche and Kropyvenka in the Khoroshiv community to continue rebuilding a bridge destroyed during hostilities. A detour was organized for drivers.

In Zhytomyr, elderly citizens and IDPs are taught the basics of computer literacy. 38 students aged 55 plus, including 14 internally displaced persons, are taking a course in computer literacy at the Vasyl Zemlyak Central City Library. The courses were launched as part of the social project “University of the Elderly”.

Four goats and a family of peacocks, brought in from the east a few months ago after volunteers saved them from shelling, will now live in the Zhytomyr Hydropark. The animals are currently in quarantine and have been fed, treated, and vaccinated. According to the Hydropark director, they have never worked with animals before, but he believes the experience will be a positive one.

Sumy oblast

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reports that the russian military shelled the Bilopillia community. There were 4 mortar attacks and a VOG explosive device was dropped from a UAV. There were also 2 attacks with cannon artillery on the settlements of the Nova Sloboda community.

The ‘North Operational Command informs that the enemy continues shelling the borderline. In the morning, the Bilopillia community came under enemy fire, there were 4 mortar attacks. There were also 11 UAV strikes near the village of Starykove in the Shalyhine community. As a result of the shelling, an outbuilding caught fire.

The regional SES reported that during the week, bomb squads in Sumy oblast found and destroyed 6 explosive devices: a 100-kilogram World War II-era high-explosive bomb, 4 artillery shells and an anti-tank mine. Hazardous finds were recorded in Okhtyrka, Sumy and Konotop regions.

Chernihiv oblast

On March 5, russian troops once again attacked the border of Chernihiv oblast. The Department of Civil Defense reported on a shelling from AGS-17 (4 VOG) near the settlement of Karpovychi, Novhorod-Siverskyi region. The Chernihiv border guard detachment reported the shelling of the Semenivka community with an automatic grenade launcher (4 explosions).

The ‘North’ Operational Command informs that in the morning, there were 5 attacks from 120-mm mortars in the area of Senkivka, Horodnyanska community. There were no casualties among personnel or equipment.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA says that over the past week, the enemy fired 21 times from the territory of Bryansk oblast at the outskirts of 10 border settlements in Chernihiv oblast. There were 161 explosions. A private car was damaged in the shelling of Tymonovychi village on February 27. No casualties were reported. The enemy is using various weapons: mortars, cannon artillery, and grenades from UAVs.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, heads of the regions whose border villages are under fire have been tasked with intensifying information work among the population about the possibility of evacuating to more distant settlements. Also, the heads of the RMAs should personally monitor the progress of fortification work on their territory and facilitate it as much as possible. 

The Chernihiv Oblast State Emergency Service reported that demining of the region’s territory continues. Over the past week, bomb squads were engaged 7 times to neutralize ordnance and seized 8 such items. A total of 49,271 IEDs have been seized since the beginning of hostilities.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, reports that the russian occupiers struck Nikopol and the Chervonohryhorivka community with heavy artillery. At night, air defense forces shot down 4 enemy UAVs that were approaching from the direction of the Nikopol region. In the afternoon, the russian army shelled Nikopol, and the occupiers struck with heavy artillery. Three residential buildings and two other outbuildings were damaged. Vinnytsia oblast

Serhiy Morhunov​​, Vinnytsia Mayor says that students of School # 33 raised funds to buy a thermal imager and power banks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, the staff of the institution handed over the equipment to the military. 

The Vinnytsia Sports Community has purchased two Starlink Internet stations to help soldiers on the front line. They also recently visited the soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in a city hospital. The sports community also purchased and donated medicines and supplies for the soldiers at the request of doctors.

Kirovohrad oblast

Hospitals in Kirovohrad oblast received resuscitation vehicles from the parishioners of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The ambulances were also filled with resuscitation equipment and handed over to the drivers of military hospitals.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, says that MPs, together with volunteers, handed over vehicles and equipment for our defenders. These are 4 cars, 10 autonomous heaters and 4 Starlink stations.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia RMA reported the completion of emergency rescue work on the site of the high-rise building destroyed by the russians. As a result of the russian attack on March 2, 13 residents of the regional center, including 1 child, were killed. Another 2 are considered missing. 4 victims are currently in medical facilities. 25 apartments were destroyed, 10 damaged. Persons who needed shelter were provided with housing in municipal institutions, in a modular town, hot meals and basic necessities. The regional government is working on involving international donors to support the Zaporizhzhia residents who suffered from the terrorist attack.

According to the General Staff, the enemy is on the defensive towards Zaporozhzhia. The occupiers shelled Zaliznychne, Huliaipole and Kamianske.

The police destroyed the warhead of an enemy kamikaze drone in Zaporizhzhia. Shakhed drone hit the area near one of the private sector houses as a result of the night attack on the regional center. The ammunition ignited. Residents of 24 private houses were in the affected area. After evacuation of the local population, explosives and pyrotechnics carried out the necessary demolition work.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched artillery and mortar attacks on the water area of the Ochakiv community. According to Mykolayiv RMA no one was injured.

There were three cases of mines or streamers detonation in Mykolaiv oblast yesterday. Three people were injured and are now in the hospital. One man died.

A sports event was organized for children from the frontline village of Pervomaiske, Mykolaiv region, as part of the OlimpicLab project. It took place thanks to the joint efforts of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast, NOC of Ukraine in Odesa oblast, and the “Olympic Circle” charity fund. All participants received gifts, and adults also received grocery sets.

Volunteers for the “Offensive Guard” are being recruited. The teams are already starting their training. Their main tasks are repelling and deterring armed aggression against Ukraine, conducting assault operations, neutralizing sabotage and reconnaissance groups and illegal enemy armed formations, aerial reconnaissance, identifying positions and destroying the enemy.

Odesa oblast

Yesterday, it was relatively calm in Odesa oblast. Although, according to Odesa RMA there are currently four enemy missile carriers on combat duty in the Black Sea with the total salvo up to 24 Kalibers.

Odesa oblast received another batch of generators from Michael Capponi, the founder and president of the non-governmental organization Global Empowerment Mission. 30 generators are distributed among educational, healthcare and social infrastructure facilities.

The exhibition of IDPs works “The Lust for Life” opened in the Izmail Museum of History and Local History of the Danube region. 250 creative works are presented to the visitors.

Kherson oblast

This morning, Kozatske village, the Nova Kakhovka community, was once again shelled by the enemy. A local resident was injured in the leg. Several houses were damaged.

Yesterday, russian invaders shelled the territory of Kherson oblast 74 times. Almost 360 shells from mortars, MLRS, artillery, tanks and UAVs were fired at peaceful settlements of the region. The russian army shelled the residential districts of Kherson four times. Houses were damaged in the city. As a result of enemy shelling, 3 people were killed, 2 of them were children.

While performing field work in Zeleny Hai village, the tractor came across an unknown explosive object. One person died on the spot from the injuries, another was injured.

A report was received from the temporarily occupied Skadovsk region that the russian military, accompanied by local representatives of the criminal authorities, are going around citizens’ homes and taking cars from them.

The “South” Operational Command reported that Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery units destroyed 3 anti-aircraft missile complexes, 2 units of engineering equipment, used by the enemy to equip defenses on the left bank, 2 observation posts and a warehouse with ammunition while carrying out fire missions. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 3 civilian motor boats converted by the occupiers, along with the subversive and reconnaissance group near Ostriv Velykyi Potomkin (island). 18 occupiers were liquidated.

The enemy is maneuvering, moving columns in the areas of settlements Nova Kakhovka (Kherson oblast) – Armiansk (temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) to mislead the Defense Forces of Ukraine. These actions cause discontent among the personnel of the russian occupation forces. The main reason is the lack of fuel and even a hint of the effectiveness of such maneuvers.

The Kherson RMA reported on the results of humanitarian assistance to residents of Kherson oblast. Yesterday, residents of the liberated territories received 1,620 food kits, 4,417 loaves of bread, 15,348 units of canned food, and 14,080 liters of drinking water from international public organizations, benefactors and volunteers. People were also provided with 50 repair kits, 300 OSB sheets, 328 slate sheets, 250 hygiene kits, 60 tons of fuel briquettes, 25 cubic meters of firewood, 60 portable gas cylinders, and 250 mini stoves.

The Muzikiv community began to receive goods within the framework of  “Stabilization assistance to communities affected by the war”project sponsored by USAID. The aid is provided to restore utility enterprises operation and to repair the heating systems of the local dispensary. The community will receive 4 laptops, 5 pumps, 134 3-meter pipes, a 30 kW gas boiler and 32 radiators as part of the project.

Families with children received humanitarian kits with clothes, warm blankets, stationery for schoolchildren and hygiene products in the newly reclaimed settlements of Kherson oblast. The aid was provided thanks to the support of Chernivtsi police officers, who work closely with benefactors from Germany. Chernivtsi police brought a truck with humanitarian kits prepared in advance for each family to meet the needs of families in difficult life circumstances.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that the oblast received three school buses from Finland. Volvo cars went to Kamin-Kashyrsk, Lokachynsk and Turiisk communities.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Uzhhorod City Council held a meeting with representatives of the organization Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe in Ukraine to discuss the cooperation.

Bohdana Andriiv, Mayor of Uzhhorod, visited the sister city of Yihlava on a working trip. The Czech city will allocate UAH 1.5 million to repair one of the schools in Uzhhorod.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that another shelter for IDPs opened in Kolomyia.

A new children’s digital center has opened in the Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum thanks to the international organization Save the Children.

The RMA reported that regional military administrations sent 8 cars to the front.

Lviv oblast

UAH 102 million was approved in the regional budget to create almost 1,3K places for IDPs. This year, as part of the Priority Infrastructure Projects Implementation Program, 23 facilities in 21 communities are planned to be repaired. After victory, when people can return to their native oblasts, these facilities will serve the needs of communities.

The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska learned about the work of volunteers of the Medical and Psychological Aid, welcoming people from evacuation trains at the Main Railway Station of Lviv for over a year. She noted that the experience of Lviv oblast will be scaled to other oblasts of Ukraine.

The Drohobych region received a fire truck, with emergency and rescue equipment and fire-fighting technical tools, including water tanks, from the order of the Boniface Brothers from Poland.

The Novorozdil community in Stryi region received humanitarian aid, namely gas heaters, warm clothes, products and chemical heaters. The city hospital received rehabilitation equipment for wounded soldiers and community residents, namely treadmills, a balancing hemisphere and belts for external support. The aid was provided by the Fathers of the Order of Salvatorians from Poland.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the oblast received 4 722 sets of clothing for children aged 1 to 10 years from UNICEF.

As part of cooperation between the Rivne RMA and the CF Red Cross, 4 more powerful generators were delivered to the oblast. The equipment was distributed among the medical institutions of Rivne oblast.

The oblast received cars, 100 tires, bed linen, towels for military hospitals, as well as wheelchairs for the military from the Ukrainian diaspora in Toronto.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil oblast, first fighters of the assault brigade Liut of the Offensive Guard are being trained. Men and women learn to provide first aid.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that one of the military units of the oblast received a Neoplan bus from volunteers.

The rotation of the permanent monitoring mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) took place at the Khmelnytskyi NPP. Another group of international experts will operate at the NPP during the next three weeks.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Chernivtsi Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention received three buses from the WHO representative office in Ukraine with the support of the EU.

The Chernivtsi Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital received expensive drugs, namely vitamin K, caffeine citrate and dobutamine for young patients from Americares, UA Brokers Without Borders and the Wings of Hope Charity Fund.

IDPs living in the oblast and local residents who sheltered compatriots and helped them with food supplies will receive food for animals, namely 2K 95-kilogram sets for chickens and 1,1K 200-kilogram sets for pigs. The aid was provided within the scope of the project from the Food Organization of the UN.

Medical institutions of the Khotyn region received 18 comfortable and functional medical beds from the French sister city of La Couronne.

The NGO Chernivtsi Association Zakhyst held the Space of Achievements 2022 forum in Chernivtsi with the financial support of EUROPEAN ENDOWMENT DEMOCRACY. Representatives of many public organizations shared their volunteering experience.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Defense ministers of the EU countries will arrive in Stockholm on March 7-8 to participate in a meeting within the framework of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers. Defense ministers will discuss EU military assistance to Ukraine, especially training (personnel) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine).

Hanno Pevkura, Head of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia, stated that on March 8, the EU states will probably reach a political consensus on the joint purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.

Arvidas Anusauskas, Minister of Defense of Lithuania, stated that the Lithuanian government is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine. Vilnius has already provided aid to Kyiv in the amount of almost EUR 409 million.

The Strategic Municipal Partnership Forum was held in Böblingen/Sindelfingen. 14 Ukrainian communities met with potential German sister communities. As a result, mayors and community representatives agreed on specific steps on establishing a long-term partnership and providing tactical support to Ukrainian communities. Two communities signed a partnership agreement.

Vitenbergs, Minister of Transport of Latvia, reported that an inscription in russian was removed from the railway station in Riga. “From now on, the station name will be in two languages ​​- Latvian and English,” he said.

Recently, a group of children of soldiers who fell in combat, were captured or went missing under special circumstances visited Croatia thanks to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the support of the Croatia Helps Association and the Police Academy in Zagreb.
