It has been the 488_th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops launched a missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine. The air defense of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Kalibr cruise missiles and 7 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Additionally, the russian army attacked from the northern direction with 4 unidentified type drones, presumably, attack drones, all of which were destroyed.

Furthermore, the russian military conducted 36 aviation strikes and carried out 17 MLRS attacks. 

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine.

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts towards Lyman, Bakhmut, and Mariinka, with over 35 combat clashes occurring during the day.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation did not change with no significant changes in the formation of offensive groups. Combat training and coordination activities of russian military units are ongoing on the training grounds in the republic of belarus before their deployment to the areas of combat operations on the territory of Ukraine.

The russian army maintains a military presence towards Siversk and Sloboda. They conducted mortar and artillery shelling of populated areas in Hirske, Chernihiv oblast; Sorokino, Korenok, Stukalivka, Yunakivka, Loknia, Sumy oblast; as well as Udy, Chervona Zoria, Odnorobivka, Veternarne, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Pylna, Kozacha Lopan, Morokhovets, Lukyantsi, Izbitske, Pletenivka, Ohirtseve, Volokhivka, Budarky, Zemlianky, Chuhunivka, Odradne, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Stelmakhivka. Artillery and mortar shelling targeted Krasne Pershe, Vasilytsevka, Fiholivka, Novomyrhorod, Dvorichna, Masyutivka, Kyslivka, Berestove, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, russian troops conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Spirne and Rozdolivka, Donetsk oblast. Artillery shelling targeted Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast and Torhanske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, russian soldiers carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Bohdanivka. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Soledar and Bila Hora, Donetsk oblast. Areas of populated settlements Vasiukivka, Markove, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, and Pivdenne, Donetsk oblast were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the russian army carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Pervomaiske. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Avdiivka and Severne. Artillery shelling targeted the populated areas of Sukha Balka, Avdiivka, Orlivka, Vodyane, Karlivka, Nevelske, Oleksandrivka, Valentynivka, Keramik, Stepove, and Pervomaiske,  Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the russian army conducted offensive actions in the area of Mariinka, but did not achieve success. They carried out an aviation strike near Krasnohorivka. At the same time, russian troops conducted artillery shelling in the areas of Hеorhiivka, Mariinka, and Pobieda, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Rivnopil,  Donetsk oblast. Russian troops carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Prechystivka, Blahodatne, and Makarivka. They conducted shelling of populated areas including Illinka, Paraskeviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Storozheve, Yelyzavetivka, Bohoyavlenske, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Makarivka, Novosilka, Novopil, Makarivka, and Zelene Pole, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army is concentrating its efforts towards preventing the advancement of the Ukrainian military. Russian troops conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Levadne and Oleshky. They carried out artillery shelling of populated areas including Temirivka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Olihivske, Malynivka, Zaporizhzhia, Chervone, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Pyatyhatky, Lobkove, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk oblast; Dudchany, Olihivka, Respublikanets, Lvove, Tiahynka, Burhunka, Kachkarivka, Mykolaivka, Zmiivka, Antonivka, Naddniprianske, Molodizhne, Inzhenerne, Zelenivka, Kherson, Bilozerka, Berehove, Dniprovske, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Charivne, Kherson oblast, and Ochakiv, Mykolaiv oblast.

The aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 6 strikes on russian personnel concentration areas. 

The rocket troops and artillery of Ukraine targeted the russian command post and 10 artillery units on firing positions.

Energoatom reported that the water level in the Zaporizhzhia NPP cooling pond is stable. The water level in the channel of the TPP does not drop significantly. Indicators no longer depend on the Kakhovka reservoir. 

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense, reported that Ukrainian servicemen returned control of the village of Rivnopil, Donetsk oblast. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russia shelled at least 26 settlements.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that russian invaders shelled frontline and border settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions. Specifically, Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, Udy, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka and other cities and settlements of the region were under enemy attack.

In Kolisnykivka village, Kupiansk region, the shelling damaged 2 residential buildings and outbuildings. In Kupiansk, a private building was damaged. There were no casualties.

Donetsk oblast

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence, said that Ukrainian forces have liberated Rivnopil village. She also noted that at the end of last week, Ukrainian troops launched counter-offensives towards Bakhmut near six settlements, where they were successful and advanced between one and two kilometres and are now gaining a foothold.

Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that yesterday russian troops shelled Ukrainian army positions over 800 times with various types of artillery. Also there were 29 engagements. More than 250 russian servicemen were eliminated and more than 350 soldiers injured.

The President’s Office reported that Zelenskyy came to Donetsk oblast and visited the Armed Forces units which excelled towards Bakhmut and gave them state awards.

Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a springboard of кussian troops on the western bank of the Siverskyi Donets Canal, defeating a battalion of the 57th Russian Brigade. The video was published by Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Pokrovsk City Military Administration informed that in six starostas, where there is no centralised water supply due to shelling, 70 water tanks were installed. These settlements are home to six thousand people.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk oblast, told Suspilne that as a result, one person was killed and another injured.

Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that in the middle of the night, russians launched four rocket attacks on Druzhkivka, damaging two apartment buildings and two private buildings, and disrupting water supply. Towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Vuhledar 19 times with artillery, no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 6 private buildings in Kurakhivka were damaged. Avdiivka was shelled with artillery in the evening and Grad rocket launchers at dawn. The shells hit the territory of three streets. A building was damaged in Yelyzavetivka, Mariinka community and power lines were cut.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured in Sukha Balka of Toretsk community, a building was damaged in Pivnichne. Two buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

Towards Lysychansk, there were 5 attacks on Lyman community, with no casualties or destruction.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration confirmed that yesterday russians injured 3 civilians in Avdiivka, Sukha Balka and Krasnohorivka.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy concentrated its offensive actions yesterday in Svatove region, where they tried to advance west of Kryvoshiivka towards Stelmakhivka. These attempts were unsuccessful, as our defenders stopped all the enemy’s attempts.

Russians continue to actively use aviation along the entire frontline. This time, the invaders targeted Dibrova and Bilohorivka. The artillery impact has not decreased either Bilohorivka and Nevske were shelled again.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that the constant increase in the number of military hospitals in the occupied territory is evidence of the enemy’s losses. Their number is growing because there is a catastrophic lack of beds for injured russian soldiers.

Recently, another medical facility in Luhansk was taken over and converted into a military hospital. It provides medical care to the personnel around the clock, medical workers from russia are involved. Even in the regional centre, the opportunities for civilians to receive medical care are increasingly limited, not to mention the level of its quality.

Life in Sievierodonetsk comes to a pause at sunset because the invaders have not repaired street lighting even around the surviving neighbourhoods. The streets have been empty since darkness covers the city. Not all houses have electricity but only the most populated ones. Accordingly, traffic lights do not work and noone pays attention to traffic rules, the blame is on the civilians.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the night of June 26, the enemy once again attacked Kyiv oblast using Shahed kamikaze drones. At around 1:10 a.m., Kyiv residents could hear explosions. According to the UA RADAR air defense monitoring public, these sounds indicated that russian drones were shot down by air defense forces.

Vitaliy Klychko, the mayor of Kyiv, reported that Crimean Tatar flag was raised near Kyiv City Hall. The flag was hoisted in honor of the celebration of this national symbol of the Crimean Tatars in Kyiv – the Kyiv mayor did it together with the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov.

In memory of a Kyiv guide who died in the war, activists fulfilled his dream by restoring an ancient door on one of buildings in Kyiv. Serhii Myronov, who studied the history of the capital and wrote the blog “Disappearing Kyiv,” also liked to restore historic doors. Serhiy did not have time to restore the door of his house at 112-A Saksahanskoho Street, because he went to defend the country, was wounded in the Eastern sector and died in hospital.

According to the information provided by Hostomel settlement military administration (SMA), Anica Djamic, Ambassador of Croatia, visited Hostomel community. Croatian Ambassador visited the church in Hostomel destroyed by the russians and donated icons.

A charity race in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in Obukhiv, Kyiv oblast. The event, titled The Power of Our Steps, was initiated by the local medical college and the city council.

An exhibition of children’s drawings I’m Waiting for You… dedicated to POWs and missing persons opened in Kyiv park. The exhibition includes about 100 works created by children or close relatives of POWs and those whose fate is still unknown. The exhibition, arranged by the NGO Voyatsky Vyzmol together with the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, will run until July 4 in Natalka Park.

The humanitarian organization Life Saving Center reported that a free taxi service for soldiers with severe injuries and amputations has been launched in Kyiv. The foundation received a Citroën Berlingo car from benefactors, equipped to transport passengers in wheelchairs.

The Bucha City Council reported that a charity concert was held in Bucha, Kyiv oblast, during which UAH 14,000 was raised for the Victory Drones project. The concert in the park was held to raise money for the BaAK 1 V BOMBER drones, Ukrainian UAVs that are highly resistant to electronic warfare.

Zhytomyr oblast

Yesterday, animals were transported to Zhytomyr from the Kherson Pegasus shelter. Lyudmyla Okhotnikova, a volunteer of the NGO ZOO DOZOR, noted that most of them had spent a long time in the water. So far, 40 cats and dogs have already found homes with families.

Zhytomyr Regional State Administration reported that during the war, Zhytomyr oblast hosted almost 70,000 IDPs – 18,212 of them are children of all ages – from dangerous parts of Ukraine. People live in communal facilities, the private sector, religious and charitable shelters.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that over the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled 5 communities in Sumy oblast, inflicting 76 shells on our territories. Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Shalyhine, and Nova Sloboda communities came under fire. The enemy used mortars, artillery, and SPG-9. A barn and windows in a building were damaged by russian mortar shelling in Bilopillia region. In Myropillia community, a civilian was wounded, two houses, a garage, a summer kitchen, and a car were damaged. In Shalyhine community, civilian houses were damaged as a result of enemy shelling. In Krasnopillia region, dry grass caught fire due to mortar attack.

According to Sumy RMA, at night and in the morning, russian troops attacked 3 border communities. There were 49 shells recorded. The enemy attacked Esman community with mortars (3 bombs) and automatic grenade launchers (30 rounds). 5 mortar bombs were fired at Seredino-Buda region. The russians launched 11 mortar bombs at Bilopillia community.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Sumy oblast informed that in Sumy oblast, 41-year-old resident of Myropillia community was killed as a result of russian shelling. During the artillery shelling of Myropillia region on June 25, a woman was at home and sustained serious injury – she was taken to hospital but the doctors couldn’t save her life.

The General Staff reported that on June 24, a russian sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to infiltrate Ukrainian territory near Rodionivka village, Sumy oblast. The attempt was unsuccessful – the enemy suffered losses and withdrew.

Shostka Central District Hospital in Sumy oblast received donations – medicines and saline solutions – from Greek benefactors. The donations were provided by MDM Greece, Médecins du Monde Greece and Americares. 

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ operational command reported that yesterday, the russian troops once again attacked the border of Chernihiv oblast, Hremiachka and Tymonovychi villages of Semenivska community came under fire. At night, the enemy launched 5 bombs, allegedly from a mortar, on Hremyachka village, and in the morning, before noon, there were 3 shells fired near Tymonovychi village.

According to Ivan Vashchenko, head of Koryukiv DMA, due to hostile shelling of Snovsk community, 11 settlements of Chernihiv oblast were left without power supply. Repair works are underway.

In Varva community of Chernihiv oblast, a mobile medical team visited 280 residents in one day. On June 21, doctors from Chernihiv and Pryluky examined residents of Varvynia region: 124 of them were tested for HIV and viral hepatitis B and C. The bus for the mobile team was provided by WHO.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv oblast reported that in Korop village, Novhorod-Siverskyi region, rescuers rescued a goat from the sewer. While grazing on the outskirts of the village, the goat stumbled and fell into a sewer pit about 1.5 meters deep, from which it was safely rescued by specialists.

Oleksandr Kodola, mayor of Nizhyn, reported that according to the tradition, patriotic charity bike rides will be held in Nizhyn. All cyclists can join the event by making a charitable contribution to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A separate bike ride is planned for preschool children.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to the head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the russians shelled Nikopol district three times during the night. They fired heavy artillery at Nikopol and Marhanets community. 

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhii Lysak reported that the russians attacked Nikopol with heavy artillery in the daytime. They hit a private enterprise. Two of its employees were killed, a 51-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. 

A man aged 49 was injured. He has a mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wound. There is destruction of the affected facility. 

According to the head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, laboratory control of drinking water has been intensified  in Dnipropetrovsk oblast due to the emergency at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​The orthopedic surgeon Volodymyr Skopoushchenko reported that a mechanical arm was made at the Vinnytsia State-Owned Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopaedic Enterprise using 3D printing by Vinnytsia residents together with Canadians as part of the Victoria Hand  charity project.

UAH 71 thousand was raised in Vinnytsia oblast during the Bagi-Fest art and sports festival. It was organized by the “Keeper of the Country” charity foundation. The funds wereraised to buy a buggy for off-road driving. It will be sent to the defenders of Ukraine.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovohrad oblast is currently developing a project called The Way Back aimed at reintegrating war veterans into civilian life after they leave the Armed Forces. It aims to provide information support to the defenders of Ukraine, which will help them return from their military careers to civilian life.

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, four powerful quadcopters were handed over to the 116th Brigade of the Territorial Defense in Poltava oblast: two DJI Mavic 3E Enterprise and two DJI Matrice 30T.

Cherkasy oblast

“Ukraine is Above All”  charity art event  was held in the Horodyshche community. In total, the charity raised UAH 22.2 thousand for the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Ukrainian defense forces are continuing their offensive towards Melitopol and Berdiansk. Overall, since the beginning of the offensive, an area of 130 square kilometers has been liberated in the south. Over the course of a week, due to the improvement of the operational (tactical) situation and alignment of the front line, the area of liberated territories has increased by 17 square kilometers. The General Staff reported that the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain the lost position near Novodarivka area in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Yesterday, russian forces launched 52 strikes on 14 cities and villages in the region: missile strikes on Novoiakovlivka, aerial attacks on Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Levadne, drone attacks on Olhivka, 7 rocket artillery strikes on Huliaipole and Levadne, 40 artillery strikes on Zaliznychne, Novodarivka, Charivne, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and other frontline settlements. There have been 38 new reports of civilian infrastructure destruction.

On June 25 at 22:05, as a result of russian shelling, a private house was destroyed in the village of Preobrazhenka. Emergency services personnel rescued a man and a woman from the rubble. They were transported to a medical facility.

Mykolaiv oblast

As reported by the “South” Operational Command, last night three UAVs “Shahed-136/131” were destroyed in Mykolaiv oblast by the “South” Air Command.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked the Ochakiv community three times. Following one of the shelling incidents, a fire broke out in Ochakov town. According to the Mykolaiv RMA, no casualties were reported.

Over 100 hectares of farmland in Mykolaiv oblast have been affected by flooding caused by the breach of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station dam. It will no longer be possible to harvest crops on these lands. The areas that have been flooded currently have black, muddy soil. It is currently impossible to determine if anything can be grown on it. However, the farmers believe that the fertile soil layer has not been washed away, giving hope for its prompt recovery. The preliminary estimate of losses from the flooding amounts to 20 million hryvnias, which includes crop losses.

Odesa oblast

During a nighttime attack, the enemy shelled Odesa oblast with “Kalibr” missiles launched from a submarine and attacked with kamikaze drones. One of the missiles hit a storage facility, and debris from downed drones damaged several high-rise buildings. Around 800 windows have been partially damaged or completely destroyed. Balconies have also been shattered, and on some heights, the facade structures were even blown off. People suffered minor injuries.

There are four russian ships on rotation in the Black Sea, none of which are missile carriers. This was reported today by the Ukrainian Navy. In the Sea of Azov, one ship is present, and in the Mediterranean Sea, there are eight ships, including one missile carrier armed with four “Kalibr” missiles.

132 safety classrooms are already operational in schools in Odesa oblast. Schools that do not yet have such safe interactive spaces should create them before the start of the school year. Efforts have been made not only to teach the basics of safety, but also how to stabilize the students’ normal emotional conditions in safety classrooms.

A rehabilitation project for servicemen, civilians, and children who have suffered combat or psychological injuries due to the russian armed aggression has been launched in Serhiivka community. Local sanatoriums, intended for physical and medical rehabilitation, are to be used for these purposes.

Kherson oblast

Today, the russian army attacked Bilozerka. The invaders targeted a local music school building. Private houses, gas pipelines, and power lines nearby were also damaged. A 71-year-old woman was injured as a result of shelling.

In the morning, the enemy shelled residential areas of Kherson and Antonivka with prohibited incendiary ammunition. Residential buildings were set on fire, and the water supply, gas pipelines, and critical infrastructure were damaged.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 95 attacks, firing 644 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad rockets, tanks, drones, and aircraft. The enemy launched 17 attacks at the city of Kherson. Due to the russian aggression, one person was killed, seven injured. Kherson police have opened 18 criminal cases regarding crimes committed by russian military personnel in Kherson oblast.

Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense and Security Forces of the South, reported that the movement across the Chongar Bridge, which connects the mainland part of Kherson oblast with the Crimean Peninsula, is complicated. She also added that the Defense and Security Forces currently have all logistical routes of the russian forces on the left bank of Kherson oblast under fire control.

As a result of the flooding caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, up to a hundred houses in Velyka Kardashynka have been damaged, with half of them being uninhabitable. In Kardashynka and Kokhany, water completely destroyed half of the residential buildings. These are preliminary data, as it is impossible to obtain full information due to the occupation of the left bank by russian forces. Hola Prystan has insufficient electricity, water, and gas supply. There is almost no communication. Hospitals and pharmacies are not functioning.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In one week, 18 IDPs were resettled in Volyn, four of them are people who moved due to the explosion of Kakhovka HPP. In total, since the war began the oblast welcomed 77 796 IDPs. Among them are 16 people from Kherson oblast forced to leave due to flooding. 52 216 people have the status of IDPs. This amounts to 37 386 families, in which 15 156 are children.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Uzhhorod Night Run charity run took place in Uzhhorod. Over UAH 90K collected will be used to support the military, namely for the special unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Kryla for the staffing of 4 strike groups and the Movement to Support Zakarpattia Military NGO.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In Prykarpattia, the compensation was provided by the government to cover utility costs for IDPs in regional institutions. The amount of the transferred subsidy from the state budget is UAH 8.1 million.

Children and their mothers were send to  as part of the Caring for the Hero’s Family project. To date, 154 children have been able to rest within the framework of the project.

Lviv oblast

25 practical psychologists and social pedagogues of vocational and technical education institutions of Lviv oblast took part in the “Skills of psychological first aid and stress management as tools for self-care and helping others in war conditions” training within the coordination initiative of the IOM, the UN Migration Agency and the National Protection Cluster, with the assistance of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv oblast.

Rivne oblast

Rivne Diagnostic Center received a modern CFX amplifier with software, intended for conducting PCR tests for the diagnosis of infectious, oncological and genetic diseases worth UAH 1.5 million from WHO. Such a device is second to none in Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil RMA signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Firefighters and Rescuers of Ukraine public union and the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Ternopil oblast. The goal of cooperation is to attract citizens to membership in voluntary fire protection units; increasing the level of organizational readiness of DPO units; creation of appropriate conditions for the adaptation of combatants; cooperation between Parties and thus ensuring the best coordination of actions during response to emergency situations.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During the week, 64 IDPs arrived in Khmelnytskyi oblast by evacuation trains, of which 30 people were accommodated in the oblast. 1,5K kg of clothes were issued for 722 IDPs at the clothing distribution point at Khmelnytskyi RMA.

As part of the Everything for Children large-scale project of RMA, aimed at providing recreational activities for children from among IDPs and children of combatants, since the beginning of summer, over 350 children in the age group of 9-15 years have visited historical and cultural sights of the village of Medzhibyzh.
