It has been the 463rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to violate  laws and customs of war, employing tactics of terror, launching strikes, and conducting shelling both on military and civilian targets.

The russian army carried out 12 missile strikes using 10 ballistic and cruise missiles of the “Iskander” type on Kyiv (destroyed by Ukrainian troops), and 2 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300 on Kharkiv. Russian troops conducted 36 airstrikes and approximately 10  attacks with multiple rocket launcher systems on Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas.

There are casualties and injuries among  civilian population, including children. A children’s polyclinic, residential apartment buildings, private houses, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and aerial strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 19 russian attacks.

The operational situation remains stable towards Volyn and Polissia with no signs of russian formations detected.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army continues to maintain military presence in the border areas with Ukraine. They carried out mortar and artillery shelling of populated areas in Berylivka, Mistky, and Tymonovychi in the Chernihiv region, Atyne, Pavlivka, Pysarivka, Ugroiydy, Krasnopillia, Slavhorod, Sumy oblast, as well as Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Ohirtseve, Hatysche, Buhruvatka, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarky, Chuhunivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions west of Masyutivka, Kharkiv oblast. Russian troops carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vilshana, Kotliarivka, Krokhmialne, Kharkiv oblast, and Serhiivka, Luhansk oblast. Fiholivka, Novomylynsk, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Lymansk Pershyi, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske, Luhansk oblast were under russian artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Lyman, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. It carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Yamolivka, Siverska, Spirne, Donetsk oblast. Populated areas of Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk oblast, and Novosadove, Torske, Spirne, Mykolaivka, Donetsk oblast were under artillery shelling.

Towards Bakhmut direction, the russian army carried out airstrikes in the areas of Khromove and Bila Hora, Donetsk oblast. Kramatorsk, Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Diliivka, Zalizne, and New York, Donetsk oblast suffered russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka direction, the russian army did not conduct any offensive actions. They carried out airstrikes in the areas of Avdiivka and Vodyane, Donetsk oblast. Russian troops also conducted artillery shelling of populated areas in Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian troops repelled all russian attacks in the area of the city of Marinka. The russian army conducted airstrikes there and Heorhiivka, Mariinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast were under  artillery shelling.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian soldiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast. They conducted shelling of populated areas in Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrainka. 

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army is on the defensive. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Robotine, Zaporizhzhia region and Berislav, Kozatske, Odradokamianka, Kherson region. Russian troops conducted shelling of populated areas in Illinka, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Zelene Pole, Donetsk region; Malynivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Huliaypilske, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoandriivka, Zaporizhzhia region; Zmiivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Inhulets, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Dniprovsk, Kizomysska in Kherson region, and the city of Kherson.

Russian occupying forces continue to suffer significant losses on the battlefield. The russian army continues to convert civilian facilities in temporarily occupied territories into medical institutions. In the settlement of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, russian troops transformed a children’s sanatorium into a military hospital, where over 200 russian soldiers with injuries of varying severity are being treated. Furthermore, russian soldiers, violating the laws of international humanitarian law, have established a base for russian servicemen with military equipment on the territory of the Melitopol Oleksandr-Nevsk Cathedral.

The aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 9 strikes on the areas of personnel and military equipment buildup, as well as 2 strikes on russian anti-aircraft missile systems. Missile and artillery units targeted 1 command post, 1 anti-aircraft missile complex, 5 artillery units in firing positions, and 9 areas of armament and military equipment buildup of the russian army.

Russia has killed 484 children since the war broke out. This was reported on the “Children of the War” platform. Over 992 children received injuries of various degrees of severity.

At least 7 people died as a result of terrorist rocket fire. 27 people received injuries of various degrees of severity.

The Center for Protection of Children’s Rights in Ukraine has been launched. The center will deal with the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported by russia, the reintegration of children returned from the russian federation,  their socialization and educational initiatives, as well as the recording of crimes and holding russia accountable for the crimes committed.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least 24 settlements were hit by mortar and artillery fire. At least 24 settlements came under mortar and artillery attacks. Russia launched airstrikes near Vilshany, Kotliarivka and Krokhmalne towards Kupiansk. To the west of Masiutivka, russia tried to advance, but was unsuccessful.

Since the beginning of the invasion in Kharkiv oblast, 223 children have been injured, 76 killed, 30 have become orphans and 561 children have been taken to russia during the occupation.

The Lost Childhood exhibition was opened in the lobby of Maidan Nezalejnosti metro station. The exposition consists of the stories of more than 20 children who were killed during russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

State Ecological Inspectorate in Kharkiv oblast reported that environmentalists have estimated the environmental damage caused by russian shelling of Feldman Ecopark near Kharkiv to be at least UAH 1.2 million.

One of the civilian industrial enterprises was damaged as a result of two missile strikes on Kharkiv’s Industrial district this afternoon, which the enemy launched from S-300 missile systems. Rescuers pulled an injured woman out of the rubble, she sustained relatively minor injuries and is in stable condition. The response operations are ongoing.

Kharkiv Regional State Emergency Service said that a 61-year-old resident of Hrakove village was injured as a result of a tractor tripping an anti-tank mine. He was hospitalised.

There were no attacks on Kharkiv city yesterday. The enemy continued to shell frontline and border settlements in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions.

Throughout the day, Russians massively shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region. Private buildings, civilian industry, a library and market pavilions were damaged. There were five fires. A man in his 60s was killed, a woman injured and hospitalised. The total area of the fire was over 1000 square metres.

In the evening, russians again attacked Kivsharivka, Kupiansk region, with a guided aerial missile. There was a hit on the territory of the local stadium. The fence was damaged and the blast wave broke windows in neighbouring buildings. There were no casualties.

The day before, at about 1:30 pm, a tractor hit a mine between Chornohlazivka and Kalynove villages of Bohodukhiv region during field work. There were no casualties.

ine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 9.3 hectares of territory and defused 84 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Syrskyi, Colonel General, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that russian troops towards Bakhmut moved to defense and started firing more from heavy weapons, mainly artillery and mortars.

Russian troops shelled Bakhmut 436 times and Lyman-Kupiansk 122 times. Avdiivka, Mariinka and Vuhledar directions were attacked 249 times.

Another wartime postage issue was cancelled in Donetsk oblast. This time, the stamps are dedicated to the International Children’s Day. The stamps were designed by children from all over the country – the stamp block itself is titled “Children of Victory Draw the Ukraine of the Future”.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that in the afternoon, Russian troops shelled Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Niu-York, Lastochkyne and Antonivka. One person was killed and seven others injured.

Donetsk Regional police informed that yesterday Russian troops shelled 14 settlements. As a result of the shelling, 29 civilian objects were damaged, five residents injured and two people killed.

Russians shelled Udachne, killing one person and injuring two. In addition, the enemy launched a FAB-250 bomb at Sloviansk, damaging 7 buildings.

Towards Donetsk, a building and power lines in Ocheretyne were damaged. Avdiivka was shelled with artillery and tanks, there were no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured and 3 buildings damaged in Kostiantynivka. Another building was damaged in Ivanopillia.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings and an administrative building in Siversk and 3 buildings in Kryva Luka of Lyman community were damaged.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday russians killed 2 civilians in Udachne and Chasiv Yar. 5 people were injured in the region.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy tried to break through the defences near Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Svatove region. But in Bilohorivka russians were forced to withdraw with losses. The enemy continues to destroy our settlements with artillery every day. Recently, the house of a resident of Hrekivka was damaged – the owner was not injured. Yesterday, the invaders shelled Novoselivske, Nevske and Bilohorivka.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that there have been numerous reports from Sievierodonetsk that due to the lack of communication, people cannot call an ambulance and are forced to walk to get doctors at night or look for transport in their neighbourhood. There were also fatalities when patients did not wait long enough for help. When one of the apartment buildings caught fire, people waited for several hours for the appropriate service. As a result, two floors burned down. There were casualties.

Children, who are allegedly diagnosed with a disease, are forcibly taken by the invaders for so-called “treatment” in the territory of russia. At the same time, a mandatory condition for organising “treatment” of children in russia is the presence of an enemy passport, which is immediately issued to the child under an express scheme. If the child is under fourteen, the parents are forced to submit an application for recognition as a “citizen of russian federation”, threatening to lose parental rights in case of refusal.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The head of KRMA Serhiy Popko announced that the Ukrainian defense forces destroyed all 10 missiles launched by russia to the Kyiv oblast this night: 7 “Iskander-M” and 3 “Iskander-K”. As a result of the russian attack in the capital, 3 people were killed, 16 were injured, 9 of them were hospitalized. Desnyanskyi, Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital recorded destruction – fragments of downed rockets fell on residential buildings, a polyclinic, schools, kindergartens, an administrative building, a police station, a pipeline, on the roadway and in green areas.

In Desnyanskyi district, a fragment of a rocket fell at the entrance to the polyclinic 4 minutes after the air raid alert was announced, when people were heading for shelter. As a result, 3 people died a 9-year-old girl, her 34-year-old mother and a 33-year-old woman.

Kyiv City State Administration reported that due to the tragedy in Kyiv, all festive events planned for Children’s Day were cancelled.

In Kyiv, as a result of the russian air attack, the hot water supply for 64 residential buildings has been suspended. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko informed that this happened due to the damage of the main pipelines in the Dniprovskyi district by the fragments of the rocket. Immediately after the permission of the State Emergency Service, Kyivteploenergo began preparations for emergency works.

Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that no hits were recorded in the oblast. As a result of the fall of the rocket fragments, the grass floor caught fire in one of the communities, the fire was extinguished.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko informed that the city authorities involve the public in checking access to shelters. The Ozone public monitoring group, with which the KCSA concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation on monitoring the operation of shelters, has already conducted a number of inspections. The city calls on all interested citizens of Kyiv to join this initiative as public representatives of such inspections.

Andrii Nebytov, the head of the regional police, said that an unexploded warhead of an enemy drone of the Shahed type was found in a forest area on the territory of one of the regions of Kyiv oblast. The law enforcement officers inspected the scene and called the State Emergency Service to remove and neutralize the find.

During the “Run under the Chestnuts” UAH 1 million was collected for the Center for Children’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, as well as funds for the purchase of two cars for the provision of emergency medical care in frontline areas. Its initiator and organizer Iryna Kuznetsova reported on the results of the 30th anniversary event. More than seven thousand participants from different cities of Ukraine and the world joined the event. Online participation included the opportunity to run a symbolic 5 km in any safe places.

Zhytomyr oblast

Regional Infrastructure Development and Restoration Service reported that the right-hand drive on the bridge over the Dubovets River on the Kyiv-Chop highway in Zhytomyr oblast, which was destroyed as a result of shelling, was opened. The capacity of the bridge is being restored in parts so as not to stop traffic on the international road.

The implementation of the project to restore the bridge crossing over the Irsha River was discussed at a meeting with representatives of the “Center for International Development Cooperation of Estonia” in the regional military administration. The bridge was damaged by russian bombing on March 6, 2022. As of today, 30% of the total amount of repair work has already been completed.

Almost UAH 565 million was received by the farmers of Zhytomyr oblast under the “Affordable loans 5-7-9” program. As reported in Zhytomyr RMA, a total of 183 enterprises used the state program of bank lending to the agrarian sector in the oblast.

Zhytomyr oblast received buses from Finland, which were given to educational institutions for the transportation of children. As reported in the regional military administration, three “IVECO” buses will transport about 150 children living in Yarun, Korostyshiv and Holovyno communities to study.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that the enemy shelled 6 communities in the oblast with self-propelled guns and mortars, a total of 42 hits were made on their territories. The communities of Velika Pysarivka, Esman, Krasnopillia, Seredina-Buda, Shalyhine and Yunakivka came under shelling. In the Krasnopillia community, as a result of the attacks, the windows of a two-story house were broken, the warehouses of a local farm and 5 civilian cars were damaged, and a water tower was damaged.

Sumy RMA reported that the occupiers attacked the territory of the Krasnopillia community with self-propelled guns, 3 explosions were recorded.

In Sumy oblast, another explosion of agricultural machinery took place. As reported by the police of the Sumy oblast, the machine operator ran over a mine lying on the side of the road with the rear wheels of the harvester while working. A 40-year-old man was injured and was treated. The harvester was also damaged.

The Sumy regional prosecutor’s office reported that two russian soldiers were sentenced in absentia for shelling a hospital in Trostyanets. The crime was committed in March 2022. According to the verdict, junior sergeant S. and private M. were sentenced to 11 years in prison for targeting the hospital from a tank. Also, the culprits must pay 21,000 UAH each for conducting examinations, and the russian federation must compensate the medical institution with 140,000 UAH.

Water resources in Sumy oblast suffered about 2 million losses due to the war. This amount was calculated by the State Environmental Inspection in the Sumy oblast. In the first months of the full-scale invasion, many bridges were blown up – this led to the fall of huge volumes of reinforced concrete structures and asphalt pavement into reservoirs. The greatest damage was caused to such rivers as Vorskla, Seim, Bratenytsia, Kleven and Psel.

In Sumy, a new postage stamp drawn by children was paid off. The stamp, issued for the International Children’s Day, was created as part of the all-Ukrainian competition “Children of Victory Draw the Ukraine of the Future”. The work of 14-year-old Olena Fedorchuk from the Kyiv oblast entitled “The most cherished dream” won the victory. Chernihiv oblast

The head of Koryukiv RMA, Ivan Vashchenko announced that the russian military attacked the Koryukiv community with barrel artillery. In the village of Prybin, a private house and a power line were damaged.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the occupiers shelled three villages in Chernihiv oblast. The villages of Berylivka in the Horodnya community came under shelling – 3 hits, and Tymonovychi in the Semenivka region – 7 hits, previously from barrel artillery. Also, the enemy fired two mines in the Semenivka community: explosions were recorded in the village of Mykolaivka.

The Office of the President announced that a famous American actor visited Chernihiv sappers. Misha Collins visited Chernihiv oblast as an ambassador of the Unatid24 fundraising platform in the direction of “Humanitarian demining”. The actor noted that his role is to draw the world’s attention to the events in Ukraine, so that its support continues in the future.

In Chernihiv, 10 children of fallen soldiers received “Father’s Heart” name pendants. Pendants in the form of a heart, around which a crown of thorns with drops of blood, together with a name card, have been given to children of defenders since 2014. As noted by the head of the Chernihiv TCC and SP Colonel Oleg Honcharuk, a total of 48 children received such pendants in the Chernihiv oblast.

Employees of the State Emergency Service in Chernihiv oblast rescued wild ducklings. The birds got into the construction of the dam and could not get out on their own, so local residents called the rescuers for help. Specialists from the Emergency Rescue Squad arrived at the scene and retrieved 10 ducklings from the lock.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The occupying forces of the russian federation attacked the Velykomykhailivka community of the Sinelnykove region with heavy artillery. Residential buildings were damaged and a power line was hit. In the morning, the enemy fired at the Nikopol region. As a result of the shelling, men aged 50 and 55 were wounded. The occupiers shelled the Marhanets community, firing almost two dozen shells from heavy artillery.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, Dnipro hosted an exhibition titled “Lost Childhood” dedicated to children who were killed by russian aggression.  The exhibition features 23 stories of children victims of russia’s military aggression, there are 3 stories of children from Dnipropetrovsk blast.

A new small group home for orphans and children deprived of parental care has been opened in Kamianske, Dnipropreteivsk oblast. The facility can accommodate 10 children in total. Currently, seven orphans live there – six girls and one boy. Six educators and social workers work with the children.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Khmilnyk community has joined the project to implement the institute of a veteran’s assistant over the next six months. The project envisages a new format for providing comprehensive assistance and support to war veterans, their families and family members of fallen heroes. The idea is to help defenders of Ukraine transition from military service to civilian life.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kirovohrad oblast, 417 displaced children were granted the status of victims of hostilities and armed conflicts.  It the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 456 vulnerable children were evacuated from the region. 47 have recently returned to their places of residence.

Poltava oblast

The two-storey therapeutic building of the Poltava Regional Hospital for War Veterans is being reconstructed. The first floor of the therapeutic building is to be used as a rehabilitation centre, while the second floor will be used for patient rooms. The reconstruction will be carried out based on updated construction standards.

Cherkasy oblast

Anastasia Shepeta, an artist from Uman, dedicated her “Ukraine with a Child” artwork to the Uman tragedy that occurred a month ago, painting a part of an Uragan multiple rocket launcher shot in the High Renaissance style with acrylic paints. Anastasia wants to sell her work at an auction to raise funds to help the soldiers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade who are fighting for Uman.

The Uman community was visited by Mr. Brett D Lee, an official representative of the twinning committee of the sister city of Davis, California, USA. During his visit to Uman, Brett Lee visited the institutions of the Department of Labour and Social Protection and educational institutions of the community and signed an agreement on cooperation between Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University and the University of California, Davis.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Russian military carried out 78 attacks on 20 localities: an air strike on Orikhove, a UAV attack on Olhivske, MLRS attacks on Komyshuvakha, Zaliznychne, Chervona Krynytsia, Poltavka, Yehorivka and Stepove, 70 artillery attacks on Huliaipol, Novoandriivka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske and other villages on the front line.

Last week, Zaporizhzhia NPP was left without power for the seventh time due to night shelling in Dnipropetrovsk region. During a meeting of the UN Security Council, Natalie Broadhurst, Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the UN, emphasized that russia, which seized the plant and concentrated armed forces and military equipment there, is solely responsible for the situation at the plant. According to her, France is very concerned about the threat to the security of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities. The deterioration of access conditions, which prevented the IAEA from carrying out the rotation of the team of experts scheduled for this weekend, is of extreme concern.

Every year on June 1, Ukraine and the world celebrate the International Children’s Day. On this occasion, an exhibition “Children’s Artsenal” was opened in three libraries in Zaporizhzhia. The event featured posters, painted boxes and cases of weapons and shells. All this was done by children of different ages and some teachers of Zaporizhzhia art schools. Most of the works will be auctioned off at charity auctions to raise funds to buy medical equipment for the military.

Mykolaiv oblast

On May 31st, five russian drones were destroyed in the skies over Mykolaiv oblast by air defense forces. The ‘South’ Operational Command reported that among them are 2 Merlin-VR UAVs, 2 Lancet strike UAVs, and 1 Orlan-10 UAV.

On Children’s Day, volunteers from Mykolaiv region presented the largest camouflage net in the region, knitted for soldiers from the countryside. The presentation took place in Vradiivka as part of the celebrations on the occasion of International Children’s Day. The camouflage net is a solid net woven in the same color palette, camouflage, measuring 200 x 5 m and covering 1,000 sq m. Later, the net will be cut to the size required by the soldiers. Almost 300 people joined in the production of this net, including the youngest volunteer who was 3 years old and the oldest who was 94 years old.

A safe space for women and girls, ZatyshnoSpace, was opened in Mykolaiv. The space helps women and girls who have suffered as a result of the war, are in difficult life circumstances, or are victims of gender-based violence. Lawyers from the region’s free legal aid system have also joined the work of the center. ZatyshnoSpace is open from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm. Women can attend lectures and trainings from professional experts and trainers. Participation in all events is free.

On Children’s Day, law enforcement officers from the regional police headquarters and the ‘Tavr’ assault battalion of the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine ‘Liut’ visited the families of their fallen colleagues who were defending Mykolaiv. The children of the fallen law enforcement officers received gifts, toys, and sweets. Postage stamps printed based on children’s drawings were put into circulation in Mykolaiv.

Today, a special redemption ceremony was held to mark the launch of the Children of Victory postage block. This issue is a charity one and is dedicated to children who found themselves at the epicenter of the brutal war unleashed by Russia. The circulation of the postal block is 135 thousand copies. It contains 5 separate stamps.

Odesa oblast

As of May 31st, four enemy ships, including three missile carriers, were on combat duty in the Black Sea, with a total volley of up to sixteen ‘calibres,’ the South Operational Command reported.

While on a working visit to the Odesa region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen wounded in the fighting with russian occupiers, particularly in the Bakhmut sector. The Head of State talked to the defenders and presented the Order ‘For Courage’ of the III degree to the servicemen undergoing treatment in the hospital. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also met with the medical staff of the institution and presented state awards to military doctors.

Today, on International Children’s Day, a commemorative event was held in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi to honor the memory of children who died as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation. The event, traditionally organized by the city’s Children’s Creativity Centre and the Education Department of the City Council, took place near the Kotyhoroshko monument in Victory Park. Participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased children, lit candles, and laid toys at the monument.

Kherson oblast

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, towards Kherson russian troops fired on Zmiivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Ingulets, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Dniprovske, Kizomys and Kherson during the day, 

In the morning on June 1, russian troops attacked the Dniprovsky district of Kherson. A house was destroyed and cars were damaged. Two men were injured.

At around 11 a.m, russian aviation dropped three guided bombs on Kozatske and one on Nova Kakhovka. One of the bombs fell in the area of Novokakhovka school No. 3. Three private houses were destroyed. One person was killed.

After 16 p.m, the russian army dropped bombs on the village of Odradokamyanka in Tyahinsky community. The shells destroyed a music school. There 

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that  the russian army attacked the Beryslav bakery from the air. It dropped two guided aerial bombs on the town. They also fired from mortars. Three people were injured. 

South Operational Command reported that aviators of the Southern Defense Forces struck at the concentration of russian military, weapons and equipment in the Oleshky community. 13 soldiers of the Russian army were killed, the data is being clarified. “Air defense forces also eliminated three operational-type drones and two Lancets over the Beryslav district of Kherson region and Bashtansky district of Mykolaiv region.

Over the past day, the russian army fired 61 times at Kherson region, and 11 times at Kherson.  Beryslav, Kozatske, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Dniprovske, Kizomys, and Shyroka Balka were hit. The shells hit residential areas. One person was killed and five were injured.

The residents of Oleksandrivka village in Stanislavska community have the opportunity to receive medical care in their village – a mobile paramedic and obstetric unit has been set up there. The assistance was provided by the international organization Médecins Sans Frontières.

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia Regional Council deputies banned activities of religious, church, public and other organizations that cooperate or are connected with the aggressor country, russian federation, in oblast.

The coat of arms of Zakarpattia will appear on the chevrons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Deputies of Zakarpattia Regional Council decided to grant permission to use the image of the coat of arms of the oblast, part A 4805 of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The image of Zakarpattia coat of arms will be used as the sleeve badge of the unit.

In Uzhhorod, a Yam-Yam Fest charity festival-fair took place. All collected funds will be directed to the needs of Ukrainian defenders.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

RMA held an online meeting with leaders and specialists of Hyogo Prefecture (Japan). They discussed the equipment of bomb shelters, measures to overcome emergency situations, conducting the necessary training for the social adaptation of IDPs, etc.

The RMA reported that they received washing machines, tents, tables and chairs, worth UAH 100K, for the needs of the military according to the requirements of fighters themselves.

In Ivano-Frankivsk academic regional puppet theater named after Mariika Pidhirianka, an entertainment program was held for the children of Heroes within the framework of the Care for the Hero’s Family social project.

Lviv oblast

Pustomyty community collected over UAH 250K for the repair of a volunteer car. Over 30 trips to the front were made with this car.

Students of Lviv Lyceum # 8 organized a charity fair. The goal is to help those who are now at the front. With the collected funds, they plan to purchase a Mavic 2 for the military.

Ukrainian Catholic University opened a scholarship fund named after the defender Yurii Osadchuk from Kamianka-Buzka. He was killed on October 15 while performing a combat mission. Scholarship support was introduced at the initiative of Yurii’s family. It will be provided to students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

The Lost Childhood exhibition was opened in Lviv. The exhibition tells the stories of children who were killed since February 24, 2022 as a result of the attack of russian troops on Ukraine.

 Children from liberated cities performed in Lviv with a circus show for children of defenders. This event is a support for children who lost their parents in the war and those whose parents are still at the front or are missing.

Rivne oblast

The police received an anonymous report about the mining of Rivne RMA. According to the rules, the workers were evacuated, and the relevant services conducted an inspection of the premises of the RMA and the Regional Council. No explosive objects were found.

The RMA reported that the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Makers joined the development of Klevan hospital for war veterans.

Residents of Rivne oblast collected 365 books (120 kg of children’s literature) for the children of liberated Kherson oblast. The action took place within the framework of the Give a book to a child all-Ukrainian project.

A In the Rhythm of Victory charity concert was held in Rivne in support of the RIVNYANI-HONOR platoon, which is fighting in Bakhmut. All charitable funds collected at the concert will be directed to the purchase of spare parts for a tracked rescue drone, thanks to which it will be possible to evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council reported that Medics of Ternopil dental polyclinic have already treated almost a hundred defenders in a few days at the front.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The city council of Khmelnytskyi reported four Dji Mavic 3 quadcopters were sent to the military. The equipment was purchased with taxpayer funds.

The RMA reported that one of the military units of Khmelnytskyi received a BOVA FHD bus.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Defense Council of Chernivtsi oblast decided to ban the light masking regime in the oblast from midnight on June 2, 2023.

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Children’s Fund Unicef. Cooperation in the educational, medical and social spheres was discussed.

The Lost Childhood exhibition was presented in Chernivtsi initiated by the Memorial platform, which from March 2022 tells the stories of Ukrainian civilian and military casualties in the war. These are the stories of over 20 children who were killed since February 24, 2022 as a result of the attack of russian troops on Ukraine.

In Bukovyna, IDPs were provided with washing and drying machines in their compact living quarters thanks to the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Chernivtsi Oblast and the International Organization for Migration.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported that Washington provided Kyiv with $1.25 billion as part of another package of financial assistance.

The White House reported that the US provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $300 million, which includes the Stinger MANPADS; Avenger air defense systems (photo); ammunition for Patriot anti-aircraft systems, HIMARS MLRS; Zuni aviation missiles.

Jonas Gar Stere, Prime Minister of Norway, announced that the country will provide Ukraine with a five-year program of military aid worth €7 billion.

Germany sent additional ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks, two tractors and seven more unmanned THeMIS vehicles. Germany also announced that they sent 64 Bandvagn all-terrain vehicles and 66 armored personnel carriers.

The Pentagon ordered a Gepard air defense system for Ukraine for almost $120 million. Global Military Products Inc., Tampa, Florida, received a contract for the supply of 35-mm Gepard anti-aircraft missile systems. Work will be performed in Amman, Jordan, with an estimated completion date of May 30, 2024.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered 300 medium-range reconnaissance drones of the Vector type from a German company. This is already the third order from Quantum-Systems.

The summit of the European Political Community (EPC) has started in Moldova. On the agenda is a discussion of joint efforts for peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, protection of democracy, strengthening of energy security and stability of European states.

“I hope that the presence of such a large number of leaders here, very close to Ukraine, a few kilometers from the border, will send a strong message about the unity of many, many states, not only the EU, but also other countries, about the protection of the international order, the protection of people’s right to defend the country’s sovereignty. It is important that this message reaches russia,” said Josep Borrell, Head of EU Diplomacy.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Maya Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova. They discussed bilateral relations, infrastructure projects, economic development and the European future of both countries.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania. During the meeting, the Declaration on Romania’s support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration was signed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of Great Britain. Supporting Ukraine was discussed.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi had a conversation with American General Mark Milley. The Ukrainian counteroffensive was discussed.

The Senate of the Czech Republic supported Ukraine’s entry into NATO as soon as possible. Also, the Czech senators call on the government to start a discussion at the summit in Vilnius about a clear path for Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the prospects for it to receive security guarantees.

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine reported Ukraine and Sweden signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the social sphere and protection of children’s rights.

Mateusz Moravetskyi, Prime Minister of Poland, announced that the country will continue to promote sanctions against belarus.

Ukraine and Lithuania signed an agreement on mutual recognition and simplified exchange of driver’s licenses.

The Czech Republic will create a Center for Helping Survivors for temporarily displaced Ukrainians. It is expected that the Center will be opened in Prague as a pilot model abroad (for countries that have sheltered a large number of Ukrainians). The Center will provide complex social and psychological support to persons who have left the zone of active hostilities and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

On May 31, the official opening of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program and the first competition for project applications in this Program took place in Przemyśl (Republic of Poland).
