War in Ukraine today: latest news, January 26, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 337th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The enemy launched 37 air and 10 missile strikes, including on the civilian infrastructure of the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.

The occupant forces launched 97 MLRS attacks targeting residential buildings in Kherson. According to preliminary information, the enemy used 24 Iranian Shahed-136 loitering munitions at night. All of them were intercepted by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Ukraine is still under the threat of further russian air and missile strikes.

Amid heavy losses, the enemy does not stop its offensive operation towards Bakhmut and Novopavlivka. The enemy continued unsuccessful offensive operations towards Lyman and Avdiivka. However, the invaders are on the defensive towards Kupiansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled occupiers’ attacks in the vicinities of Chervonopopivka, Luhansk oblast, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Blahodatne, Bakhmut, Klischiivka, Marinka, Vuhledar, and Pavlivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Volyn, Polissya, Siversk, and Sloboda, there were no significant changes, no offensive groups were detected.

Towards Siversk, the enemy shelled the vicinities of Leonivka, Yasna Poliana, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Chernihiv oblast, Budivelne, Volfyne, and Tymofiivka, Sumy oblast.

Towards Sloboda, the vicinities of 20 settlements suffered enemy attacks, including Budarky, Vovchanski Khutory, Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Krasne, and Neskuchne, Kharkiv oblast. 

Towards Kupiansk, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Kharkiv oblast, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk oblast came under fire.

Towards Lyman, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions in the vicinities of Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka, Nevske, Luhansk oblast, Veryhinske forestry, and Yampolivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, 22 settlements were attacked , including Ivanivske, Krasnopolivka, Spirne, Bakhmut, Ozaryanivka, New York, Klischiivka, and Kurdiumivka, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Berdychi, Nevelske, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast, suffered enemy attacks.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy shelled Bohoiavlenka, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva, Donetsk oblast,

Towards Zaporizhzhia, tank and artillery fire hit 25 settlements, including Vremivka, Vilne Pole, Novopil, Donetsk oblast, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, the occupant forces continue to shell civilian towns and villages. 20 settlements sustained damage, including Beryslav, Antonivka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Bilozerka, Novokairy, Respublikanets, and Kherson. Russian attacks caused casualties among the civilian population.

In the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the enemy is preparing for the next wave of mobilization. Thus, by January 29, 2023, all so-called public and private institutions must submit lists of persons to be exempted from conscription to military commissariats. The next massive wave of mobilization is scheduled for late February. At the same time, starting from February 1, 2023, all repair and construction works at the state-owned enterprises and institutions will be suspended, and all budgeted funds will be redirected to support the armed aggression against Ukraine.

During the day of January 25, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 14 air strikes on the concentrations of enemy troops and 2 air strikes on the positions of russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

In addition, 2 russian Su-25 jets, 1x Ka-52 attack helicopter, 4x “Orlan-10” UAVs, and 1x “Superkam” UAV of the enemy were destroyed.

During the day of January 25, Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 1 command post, 12 buildups of troops, and 4 ammunition depots of the russian occupiers.


Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi announced that russia has launched a massive missile strike on the territory of Ukraine. There were 55 launches of various missiles. The air defense forces managed to shoot down 47 missiles. According to the Air Force, the occupiers used high-precision air- and sea-based missiles: Kh-47 Daggers from two MiG-31K aircraft, X-101 / Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles from six strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the Caspian Sea and Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles from ships and submarines from the Black Sea.

Member of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE and People’s Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko announced that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe decided to establish a special tribunal. They approved their demands for creating a special tribunal for the crime of russian aggression and prosecution of the republic of belarus.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation did not change towards Kupiansk, the invaders are on the defensive, while towards Sloboda the situation remains the same. The enemy shelled at least 24 settlements yesterday. At least 11 settlements in the region were under Russian attack during the day.

The invaders shelled Kozacha Lopan settlement in Kharkiv region with Grad multiple rocket launchers once again. A residential building was hit. Referring to Derhachi City Military Administration, a 69-year-old woman was saved from rubble of a building in Kozacha Lopan, she was not injured.

In addition, the enemy shelled Kupiansk. A private building was destroyed.

Dvorichna was shelled in the afternoon. According to preliminary information, two civilians were killed, a man and a woman. Details on the casualties and the extent of the destruction are being clarified.

Yesterday the enemy continued shelling the border settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions.

At night, in Kupiansk there was a missile hit, presumably an S-300. There were no casualties. The personal car of a National Police officer was destroyed. During the day, a residential building, a parts store and  a civilian industrial facility in Kupiansk were damaged by artillery shelling.

A private residential building was damaged in Dvorichna, Kupiansk region.

In Vovchansk, hostile shelling damaged 6 residential buildings, outbuildings, an educational institution and a civilian industrial facility.

According to the Regional Centre for Emergency Medical Care, there were no casualties from enemy shelling yesterday.

Tsyrkuny Military Administration reported about a tent where anyone in need can take clothes and shoes free of charge. Some of the items will also be taken to Cherkaski Tyshky and Ruski Tyshky.

More than 50% of regional printed editions have stopped operating. According to the secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Kostiantyn Hryhorenko, neither radio nor television broadcasting has resumed in the de-occupied territories.

Donetsk oblast

Yesterday, russian troops shelled 16 settlements with aviation, S-300, Grad and Smerch multiple rocket launchers, artillery and mortars. There were casualties.

Two people were killed and at least one injured as a result of shelling by russian war criminals in Ocheretyne settlement. Russians struck with artillery and destroyed at least three private buildings. Two residents who were in the epicenter of the shelling could not be saved. They sustained injuries incompatible with life. The injured man was taken to the nearest hospital. He received medical assistance.

Yesterday, russians shelled a psychiatric hospital in Kramatorsk for the fourth time since the full-scale invasion. There were about two dozen people there but no casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, 8 buildings in Bohoiavlenka and 17 in Vuhledar were damaged. Novoukrainka and Prechystivka were also hit.

Towards Donetsk, russians shelled Dachne an6 Kurakhove with Smerch systems, damaging a two-story building and a garage. In Avdiivka, there were numerous isolated attacks and one massive artillery shelling overnight and artillery, Grad and air strikes in the morning.

Towards Horlivka, one person was killed and one injured in Bakhmut. In Paraskoviivka , four people were injured and 6 buildings damaged. 1 building in Nykyforivka and 4 in Vasiukivka were damaged. The outskirts of Chasiv Yar community and Ivanopillia of Kostiantynivka community were under attack.

Yesterday, russians also attacked cities in the relative rear: 2 buildings were damaged in Sloviansk and the territory of an enterprise damaged in Pokrovsk.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that russians killed 1 civilian in Bakhmut. Another 7 people were injured.

Special operations forces of the Azov regiment officially joined Ground Forces of Ukraine and became the 3rd separate assault brigade. The unit is currently participating in the defense of Bakhmut.

Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Cherevatyi, informed that the invaders have fired almost 200 times in the frontline. There were another 200 attacks towards Marinka and Vuhledar.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives towards Lyman, all attacks were repelled, specifically near Chervonopopivka. The enemy fired at the positions of our troops near Chervonopopivka, Makiivka, Nevske and Ploschanka. Towards Kupiansk, Stelmakhivka was targeted.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, said that invaders’ selective raids on settlements have become more frequent. They select a dozen people they don’t like, take them to Luhansk to prisons, from where they practically never return. Seven prisons will be set up by russians in Luhansk oblast to threaten residents and imprison those who refused to fight.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” the living wage is the lowest of all occupied territories. 100 more injured russian soldiers were brought to the hospital in Starobilsk and searches among the population have intensified.

Specialists of the explosive service of Luhansk police inspected the destroyed ammunition depot of the occupation army in Nevske village and seized explosive items from there. In total, experts seized a total of explosives during the day: 4 rocket-propelled infantry, 2 anti-personnel fragmentation mines, 5 VOG-17m grenade launchers, one 30-mm shell, a thermobaric part of a small-sized rocket launcher, a firing part from a launcher, one grenade launcher, two cartridge boxes of 7.62*54 caliber of 880 units. All seized explosive items were transported to a temporary undermining site and destroyed.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Kyiv RMA reported that civilian infrastructure objects were damaged, and an energy facility was hit in Kyiv oblast due to another missile attack.

Five residential buildings, seven facilities and structures were damaged, 40 cars were damaged due to the night attack of drones. According to the head of the police of the Kyiv oblast, Andrii Nebytov, the flight of 38 enemy drones was recorded, and some of shaheds were shot down by air defense forces.

The head of the Kyiv RMA Serhiy Popko announced that Kyiv suffered a combined air attack. At night, the enemy attacked the capital with loitering munitions of the Iranian production type “Shahed”, and in the second wave carried out a massive missile attack. In total, about 15 enemy UAVs and 20 missiles of various types (X-101, X-555, “Kinzhal” and “Kalibr”) were recorded within the city limits. All air targets were destroyed by anti-aircraft fire. A 55-year-old man died, two people were injured due to the russian attack on the capital.

As a result of the russian shelling, emergency power outages were used. Energy workers eliminated the consequences of the russian terrorist attack. Currently, Kyiv and the Kyiv oblast have returned to the schedules of stabilization power outages.

Investigators of the National Police reported suspicion to a captured russian soldier and his commander, who simulated shooting of civilians and robbed houses in the Kyiv oblast. The police established that in March 2022, the russian troops entered the territory of the city of Irpin and occupied one of the private houses where the headquarters of the occupying forces was deployed. The occupiers mocked local residents, forbade them to leave the house under the threat of death, simulated shooting them several times, deprived them of the opportunity to move, get water and food.

In order to speed up the restoration of the State Tax University destroyed by the russian occupiers, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the educational institution and the city of Irpin. As the mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushin, said such a partnership will allow to find financial donors as quickly as possible for the reconstruction of the building and dormitory premises of the university. In addition, the authorities of Irpin plan to create a co-working space on the basis of the University, where residents of Irpin will be able to work in the event of a power outage in the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klychko said that starting tomorrow, 13 more buses, which the city received at the beginning of January as aid from international partners, will enter the capital’s routes. Mercedes buses received from Riga and Volvo buses provided to Kyiv by the Finnish city of Tampere will be on the routes.

The Kyiv RMA reported that the Educational Hub of the Kyiv oblast will be operational starting from February 1. Residents of the oblast can take part in the project and study for free at the courses they choose. Project participants will develop soft skills, expand their circle of communication, and receive psychological and emotional support, necessary in the conditions of war.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr RMA reported that 576 Invincibility Centers have already been opened in the oblast. 310 of them were created by local self-government agencies and executive authorities, 54 by the State Emergency Service. They are open 24 hours a day and are ready to receive hundreds of Ukrainians who need help.

About a hundred houses damaged by russian shelling have been restored in Zhytomyr. As reported in the city council, a total of 402 objects were damaged in the regional center due to the aggression of the russian federation: 302 objects of the housing fund, 14 educational institutions, 7 health care institutions, a physical culture and recreation complex, a church, enterprises, administrative buildings and boiler houses.

The bridge over the Trostianitsa River in Zhytomyr oblast, blown up during active hostilities to stop the occupying combat vehicles, is being repaired. As reported by the Road Service, the bridge is located on the state road Vystupovychi – Zhytomyr – Mogiliv-Podilskyi, which functions as an important international transport artery from the point of view of logistics and humanitarian cargo.

Sumy oblast

The “North” OC reported that the enemy launched 60 strikes on the border area, namely on Bilopillia (20 airstrikes), Esman (19 airstrikes), Glukhiv (13 airstrikes), and Znob-Novgorodske (8 airstrikes) communities. The invaders shelled them from self-propelled guns and mortars. There are dead and wounded people.

The State Emergency Service reported that 3 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed in the Okhtyrka and Shostka regions of Sumy oblast: 2 mortar mines and an artillery projectile.

The press service of the Sumy City Council reported that the Sumy city centralized library system invites citizens to join the “Light for the Armed Forces” campaign. Libraries collect used batteries and accumulators to make flashlights and trench candles for the military.

The Sumy city council reported that one of the two superpower generators, handed over by the International Organization for Migration, will operate in the Sumy Regional War Veterans Clinical Hospital.

The head of the Sumy community Oleksandr Lysenko reported that the first stage of rebuilding for the arrangement of the simplest shelters in the basements and basement floors of the general secondary education institutions of the community is being completed. Incidentally, he noted that in order to ensure a high-quality educational process for schools, a batch of Starlink is being purchased and alternative options for informing the participants of the educational process about threats are being developed.

Chernihiv oblast

The “North” OC reported that russian terrorists shelled the border territories of Chernihiv oblast with mortar weapons twice. There are no losses among personnel and equipment. There was no information about losses among the local population. A private residential building and outbuildings were damaged in Senkivka.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that three projects from the oblast will be implemented as part of the Ukraine Recovery Program with the funds of the European Investment Bank for a total amount of 49 million hryvnias: they concern the Nova Basan rural medical clinic and Borzna and Dorogynka educational institutions. Work is underway to attract extra-budgetary funds to restore the damaged and destroyed infrastructure of settlements.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that material and technical means in the total amount of over three million hryvnias were transferred for the organization of day-to-day activities of territorial defense units. These are convectors, chainsaws, welding machines, drills, lanterns, sleeping bags and others. In addition, the repair of the premises where the unit is based has been completed.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The units of the East air command shot down 5 enemy UAVs in the oblast late in the evening yesterday. The enemy hit an industrial enterprise.

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the enemy shelled the Nikopol region multiple times during the day. They hit Marhanets, Myriv and Chervonohryhorivka communities from heavy artillery and MRLS. One farm building was destroyed, two more residential buildings were damaged.The enemy mutilated the building of an agricultural enterprise, three private residential buildings, a gas pipeline, and electricity networks.

Vinnytsia oblast

The South Operational Command reported that missiles were shot down over Vinnytsia. Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that russia also launched a missile attack on Vinnytsia. Emergency services are working at the scene.

A 15-year-old Marharyta Yatsenko from Vinnytsia hand-embroidered a map of Ukraine against the background of the national flag and set a record – “The largest map of Ukraine hand-embroidered by a teenager.” It took the girl 1.5 years of work and 37 km of threads. For each region, she used embroidery that is historically specific to a specific area.

Kirovohrad oblast

Nataliia Humeniuk, head of the coordination press center of the South’s security and defense forces, reported that the air defense forces shot down kamikaze drones over the Kirovohrad oblast at night.

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, humanitarian aid has arrived from the International Committee of the Red Cross. These are 330 folding beds with mattresses for internally displaced persons living in compact housing.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets, an enemy target was shot down by air defense forces over the Cherkasy region at night.

The press service of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Cherkasy Oblast reported that the “Return Alive” Foundation handed over equipment for the Cherkasy pyrotechnics: sets, suits, tablets, a quadcopter, and many other things.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the Zaporizhzhia regional police, occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of Zaporizhzhia, Znachkove, Malynivka, Olhivske, Gulyaypole, Charivne, Scherbaki, Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Bilohirya, Novoandriivka, Chervone, Poltavka, Omelnyk, Stepove. There have been 28 reports of destruction of civilian houses (apartments) and infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian military personnel. 

Enemy artillery hit a church in Orikhove. In Huliaipole, Grad rockets and artillery shells hit a medical facility and private homes. During the morning attack on the Vilnyanska community, russian troops used Iranian Shahed missiles. As a result, 5 garden houses were damaged. One person was injured by the debris.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, at night on January 26 the occupiers launched 2 missile attacks (previously with S-300 missiles) on Pavlivska community. The explosions damaged one of the energy infrastructure facilities. 

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, russian missile attack on a power facility in Zaporizhzhia killed three people and injured seven. Criminal proceedings have been opened over the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Technical equipment and buildings were destroyed. After the explosion, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise, which has now been extinguished. 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian occupiers are using rubber tanks in Zaporizhzhia oblast. While our partners are agreeing on the supply of tanks to Ukraine, the occupation army is also increasing the presence of “tank units” in Zaporizhzhia sector. However, Ukrainian UAVs are equipped with high-quality cameras, and it is difficult to fool their tactics. 

According to Deputy Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushchenko, occupiers transported stolen grain from Berdiansk. In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, a truck with stolen Ukrainian crops was seen. It was heading to russia. 

Mykolaiv oblast

According to the head of the regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, on January 25, the occupiers fired twice at Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, using multiple launch rocket systems. 

According to the South Air Command, on January 26, the russian army attacked in the southern direction with air- and sea-launched missiles of the X-101/X-555 and Kalibr types and X-59 guided missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, Su-35 fighters and ships from the Black Sea. The South Air Command shot down 13 missiles over Mykolaiv region. 

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has handed over more than 80 tons of power equipment to JSC Mykolaivoblenergo, provided by international partners to carry out repairs and restore power supply in Mykolaiv region. The region will receive another 70 tons of equipment by the end of the week. Among donor countries that have provided humanitarian aid to Mykolaiv power engineers are Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, France and Azerbaijan.

Odesa oblast

According to the spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, in Odesa oblast, the night of January 25-26 was marked by an air alert due to the threat of enemy use of Iranian-made kamikaze drones. Overnight, the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 24 attack UAVs launched by the rushists from the Sea of Azov.  

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Maksym Marchenko, air defense units shot down three Kalibr missiles in the sky over Odesa oblast.

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Maksym Marchenko, two infrastructure facilities were damaged in Odesa region as a result of enemy strikes, and there were significant issues with electricity and water supply during the day. During the repair work, power engineers connected generators where the capacity allowed, and organized water supply for residents. No people were injured. Air defense systems were launched over the territory of Odesa region and Odesa district in particular. 

According to the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, the historic center of the port city of Odesa has been included in the list of World Heritage in Danger. This decision was made by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. 

The Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Ms. Catherine Colonna, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, visited Odesa. As the russian missile attack began during the visit, the talks had to be held in the shelter of the Odesa Opera House. Kolonna posted a photo from Odesa on her Twitter account. She added that the purpose of her visit was also to show France’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

Kherson oblast

According to the Kherson Military Administration, over January 25, russian invaders fired 25 times at the territory of Kherson oblast with artillery, MLRS, mortars and tanks. The russian army shelled Kherson 4 times. Enemy shells hit a shipyard and residential buildings. 3 people were injured. 

According to the South Air Command, in the southern direction, 23 cruise missiles were shot down, 7 of them over Kherson oblast. Units of the Kherson Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade distinguished themselves by destroying 20 enemy air targets. 

According to the Kherson Military Regional Administration, in the morning the russian army fired on the village of Kochubeevka, Beryslav district. An administrative building was damaged. According to preliminary information, one person was killed and three people were injured with varying degrees of severity. Among the injured is Lyudmyla Kostyuk, head of Kochubeevka community. Doctors are fighting for her life. 

Khersonoblenergo has received about 40 tons of power equipment from international partners to carry out repairs and restore power supply in the region. The transferred equipment includes backup power plants, power transformers, hand tools, high-voltage cables, insulators, and fuses. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. Humanitarian aid was provided by countries such as Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Finland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Vysokopilska community received 5 generators to equip the Invincibility Centers. The community also received 1152 OSB sheets to repair buildings. To repair houses in the village of Kyselivka of Chornobayivka community, 1110 OSB boards were delivered. 

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, a separate unit of military chaplains, subordinate to a religious organization in Mykolaiv, with the help of benefactors from Rivne region, brought 60 cubic meters of firewood to the village of Oleksandrivka. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

RMA reported that five specialized sanitary vehicles have been added to the fleet of the regional emergency medical care center. Three specialized sanitary cars were purchased using the funds of the state budget and two more thanks to responsible business.

Zakarpattia oblast

RMA reported that Zakarpattia has developed a regional plan to support IDPs for 2023.

RMA reported that the 106th ambulance brigade has already been created in Zakarpattia. It will work around the clock at the hospital in Yasynia, the Rakhiv district.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council a meeting with Mariia Gonzalez Martin, a volunteer from the city of Torrelodones (Spain) was held. They discussed cooperation and establishment of partnership between cities.

The executive committee voted to allocate UAH 3k from the city budget to pay for utility services for 25 military personnel who do not have the status of a participant in hostilities. One-time assistance in the amount of UAH 100K was allocated to 10 families of fallen defenders.

RMA reported that from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, a powerful portable power source 1450 Model C Bandera Power was sent to the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade, where the soldiers of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast serve, to increase combat readiness.

Lviv oblast

In RMA, a meeting with representatives of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held. They discussed partnership relations between Ukraine and Great Britain in economic and cultural spheres.

Lviv oblast received 5 generators with a capacity of 50, 22 and 15 kilowatts. The help was received thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

The 32nd medical convoy was sent from the West Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center. Three teenagers with cancer from Kharkiv, Odesa and Kherson oblasts will continue their treatment in the best hospitals of the Netherlands and the Czech Republic as part of the #SAFERUkraine project.

The 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of Lviv created a special center for recreation and moral and psychological aid in Donetsk oblast. It is intended for the military who protect our lands on the front line.

Since the war began, there have been three modular towns in Lviv, where almost 900 IDPs live. From the first days of operation of these towns, World Central Kitchen provided them with one-time meals. For the last two months, 100 portions of food have been prepared every day in Yevhen Klopotenko’s restaurant.

An exhibition and sale of creative works of fine and decorative and applied art on the theme My Angel was opened in the Strii museum of the Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine memorial complex. Funds received from the sale of creative works will be donated to help defending soldiers.

In the Swiss city of Lugano, an exhibition of works of Ukrainian artists called Orizzonti was opened. The purpose of the exposition is cultural diplomacy, demonstration of the skill of Ukrainian artists in painting and sculpture and attracting funding to support artists and help Ukrainians who suffered because of the war.

Rivne oblast

The Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital named after Yurii Semeniuk received a modern ambulance from America. This is the second such car in the framework of cooperation between the regional leadership and representatives of the US medical community. Another 43 ambulances and fire engines are planned.

An aid for school shelters from UNICEF was once again sent to Rivne oblast. The first of the 85 planned sets for reference institutions of general secondary education and schools that participated in the PISA study have arrived.

Stanislav Bondar, a ten-year-old student from Rivne oblast, gave the collected money to the Armed Forces to “accelerate the victory of Ukraine.” The local enterprise, to whose volunteer headquarters he turned, contributed another UAH 95K to the collected amount and gave it to the volunteers to purchase an anti-drone gun.

Ternopil oblast

An evacuation medical train with residents of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk arrived in Ternopil. They were brought by Doctors without Borders from hot spots. Evacuated people will be taken to hospitals in Ternopil oblast.

Mayor of Ternopil Serhii Nadal reported that military personnel from the city will be given individual first-aid kits. These include painkillers, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic drugs, drops and anti-burn aerosols. The first batch will be sent together with Army Aid from Ternopil. A total of 3,2K first-aid kits will be created.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded state awards to two soldiers from Ternopil oblast (posthumously). Ruslan Voloshyn and Andrii Ushkevych were awarded the Order of Courage III degree.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During several days, representatives of the RMA and Protect Khmelnytskyi CF team visited seven military units in Bakhmut and Kharkiv directions. Officials handed over cars, Starlinks, drones, food and basic necessities to the front line.

The public association Union of TV and Film Industry Entrepreneurs donated a car, two generators, tactical backpacks and food for the needs of one of the Khmelnytskyi military formations.

A working meeting of the executive committee was held in Khmelnytskyi. Financial aid to families of prisoners or missing soldiers was allocated.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi received a powerful generator (512 kW). It will be enough to power up treatment plants in the event of a long-term power outage provided by the International Organization for Migration.

The Chernivtsi geriatric boarding house received a generator and installed fire extinguishing equipment provided by the organization ACTED.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Baykar sent 2 more Bayraktar TB2 drones to the Armed Forces for free.

The US will transfer 31 M1 (Abrams) tanks within the next few months. In addition to them, the $400 million aid package will include 120-mm shells, 8 M88 repair and evacuation armored vehicles, support vehicles and funds for maintenance.

Minister of Defense, Yaroslav Nagy, stated that Slovakia is ready to send 30 T-72 tanks to Ukraine, but only if it receives Western tanks as replacement. In addition, the country is ready to discuss transferring its MiG-29s to Ukraine and training pilots to fly American F-16s.

Rheinmetall is ready to provide Ukraine with shells for Leopard tanks. The German defense concern has significantly increased its capacity for production of ammunition, especially large-caliber.

Minister of Defense of Spain, Margarita Robles, announced that the country is ready to send 53 Leopard tanks to Ukraine, but they need conversion.

Germany plans to start training the Ukrainian military on Leopard 2 tanks in the near future. Up to 100 people are needed for a company of 14 tanks along with maintenance.

Military personnel from Ukraine will study in Norway. The Ministry of Defense of Norway noted that the Ukrainian military will be trained in sanitary measures, shooting and command management. The first training in Norway will start already this spring.

From May 31 to June 1, an informal meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member countries will be held in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Among key goals of the meeting is the war in Ukraine.

33 gasoline generators arrived from Austria for the needs of Ukrainian rescuers. The equipment, with a total cost of EUR 91K, was sent by the Crisis Management, Disaster Management and Civil Protection Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria thanks to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

On the occasion of its anniversary, Vilnus allocates EUR 700K for the needs of Ukraine.

The 8th meeting of Cluster 3 (Energy, including nuclear issues, environment, including climate change and civil protection, transport) of the Subcommittee on Economy and Other Sectoral Cooperation of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee was held. Ukraine is taking part in the meeting for the first time as a candidate country for EU membership. The participants paid attention to the further process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that representatives of 20 countries gathered in Prague at a meeting of the Main Group on creating a special tribunal to investigate the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi. They discussed the importance of access to Ukrainian citizens deported to russia and protection of their rights. The key goal of mass criminal removal of Ukrainian children by the aggressor state was separately considered.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. They discussed the further consolidation of partners to support Ukraine.

The Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Larisa Galadza. They discussed a number of issues, specifically UN programs, the issue of deportation of Ukrainian children and ways of their return, etc.

The Foundation of the Santa Clara Monastery (Barcelona) sent humanitarian aid, namely generators, medical vehicles, shoes and clothing for medical personnel, to the border guards of Ukraine.
