It has been the 322nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The enemy launched 2 missile and 22 air strikes, as well as carried out 18 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, including those on civilian infrastructure.

There is still a threat of air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure throughout Ukraine. 

The main efforts of the enemy focus on attempts to completely seize Donetsk oblast, and conduct offensive operations towards Bakhmut. He is trying to take control of the city of Soledar and supply routes of our units, suffering heavy losses. The fighting continues.

Also, the invaders are conducting unsuccessful offensive actions towards Avdiivka direction. Towards Kupiansk and Novopavlivka, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position, while towards Lyman, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson it is defending itself.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Seversky and Sloboda, no significant changes have been observed. The republic of belarus continues to support aggression of the russian federation, providing its infrastructure to restore combat capability of enemy units. There are no signs of forming offensive groups of the enemy.

At the same time, the russian occupiers do not stop shelling the positions of our troops and civilian objects along the entire contact line.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, Novovasylivka and Vovkivka of Sumy oblast, as well as Huryev Kozachok, Strelecha, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk and Novomlynsk in Kharkiv oblast were affected by fire.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy shelled Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove, Vyshneve, Pershotravneve and Ivanivka in Kharkiv oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast.

Towards Lyman, Terny was shelled in Kharkiv oblast, as well as Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova in Luhansk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, Spirne, Vyivka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora and Druzhba in Donetsk oblast suffered from the invaders’ fire.

Towards Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk oblast came under fire.

Towards Novopavlivka, shelling was recorded in Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, Vilne Pole of Donetsk  oblast and Zelenyi Hai, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Bilohiria, Kamianske and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia oblast suffered fire damage.

Towards Kherson, the enemy does not stop terrorizing residents of settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Shelling from multiple rocket launchers and barreled artillery was carried out near Dudchany, Stepanivka and Kherson.

In the settlements of the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast, russian invaders are strengthening regime measures, checking the local population. Particular attention is paid to mobile phones.

The trend of overcrowding of medical institutions in the temporarily occupied settlements by the wounded russian occupiers is growing. Thus, as of January 9, an additional 100 beds have been arranged in the local hospital of Markivka, Luhansk oblast.

According to available information, from January 9, the border service of the rf FSB put into effect an order to ensure restrictions on the travel abroad of citizens who are suitable for military service.

Ukrainian aviation inflicted thirteen strikes on buildups of the occupiers and three strikes on the positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.

In addition, our defenders shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter, as well as two reconnaissance UAVs, the type of which is being specified.

Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit an enemy control point, four buildups of enemy manpower and military equipment, as well as three ammunition depots.


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announces that presidents of Poland and Lithuania came to Ukraine. The leaders of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine signed the declaration of the Lublin Triangle. Lithuania and Poland will continue to help Ukraine.

National Police Spokeswoman Mariana Reva says that the National Police of Ukraine has opened 2.3 K criminal implementations on the facts of collaborationism. This can be both support for the enemy in social networks and holding positions under the occupation authorities. All this is recorded and investigated properly.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders attempted to attack the Ukrainian army near Hrianykivka village near Dvorichna. Defence Forces units repelled this attack. At least 14 settlements were shelled by russians.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informed that during the first 10 days of 2023, the Humanitarian Coordination Center in cooperation with volunteer and charitable organisations sent more than 48 tons of aid. This is 14,383 food sets, 6 tons of clothes, hygiene products, medicines and other essential goods.

The head of the Kharkiv RMA also noted that the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Serhii Shkarlet, visited the Obdarovanist Kharkiv Scientific Boarding Lyceum. The premises of the lyceum were damaged by shelling, but the restoration work has already been completed.

The day before at about 11 pm, russian invaders shelled Kharkiv with Smerch MRLs. A pyrotechnic warehouse was hit in Kyiv district. There was a large-scale fire and detonation of pyrotechnic products at night. There were no casualties.

Spokesman of the Kharkiv Regional Rescue Service, Yevhen Vasylenko, said that in total, the fire covered about 1000 square metres. The fire was extinguished for more than two and a half hours.

In the afternoon, Kharkiv investigators found the tail parts of Smerch MRL at the sites of two explosions that occurred in the city the day before. The stabilizer unit of one of the shells was seen near Kyivska underground station.

The enemy shelled more than 20 settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions. Specifically, Dvorichna, Krasne, Kupiansk, Lopan, Vovchansk and other settlements were under attack. Private buildings, commercial buildings and civilian cars were damaged. There were no casualties.

Donetsk oblast

Deputy Defence Minister, Hanna Maliar, said that heavy hostilities continue in Soledar. Russian invaders have once again reinforced their units and are trying to capture the city, but “there is no success”.

Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Cherevatyi, said that Soledar is not under the control of russian troops and urged to wait for information from the General Staff. At night, the press service of the owner of the PMC Wagner, Prigozhin, reported that allegedly the entire territory of Soledar was taken under the control of their fighters.

The spokesman also said that yesterday russians shelled  the area near Bakhmut 249 times.

Russians shelled Kurakhove again at noon. There were no casualties, but there was destruction. A direct hit damaged an administrative building and a public toilet, a 5-storey residential building and a sewer were partially damaged. The territory of the enterprise was also hit – the technological process has not been stopped.

Yesterday russian troops shelled 9 settlements. They launched missile attacks on Kostiantynivka and Lyman, shelled Avdiivka eight times with artillery and Grad MRLs.

At night and in the morning russians were shelling mainly the central part of the oblast.

Towards Donetsk, Kurakhove community suffered the most again. The enemy hit an enterprise in Kurakhove – equipment and garage were damaged. In Kurakhivka, there was a direct hit to a private and a 2-storey building, 3 more buildings were partially damaged – information about the casualties is being established. In Avdiivka, there were chaotic attacks all over the city during the night and in the morning russians launched 2 artillery attacks and a missile strike. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Marinka and Ocheretyne communities were also under attack.

Towards Horlivka, there were periodic attacks on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar and Toretsk communities.

Towards Lysychansk, late at night, russians hit Lyman with S-300 missiles, damaging a school. There were no casualties.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that yesterday russians killed 1 civilian in Bakhmut. Another 1 person was injured. 

Luhansk oblast

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in Stelmakhivka yesterday. Towards Kupiansk, Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka were under russian attack. Towards Lyman, Chervonopopivka, Makiivka and Nevske were targeted.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, said that our servicemen captured a new russian tank from which the enemy managed to make only 49 shots. Our troops are successful towards Kreminna and Svatove. Everything around is mined by the invaders. There are cases when soldiers explode while going on the offensive. According to doctors, the mortality rate in the occupied Sievierodonetsk has increased 5 times.

Also, the head of the RMA noted that Makiivka and Novoselivske were completely destroyed by russians and Ukrainians who were lucky to return from the torture chambers in the Starobilsk region say that they have never seen such cruelties committed by russians even in movies.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, russian servicemen, whose term of service has expired, are not let home at the border, the invaders are increasing pressure on entrepreneurs for using hryvnia, the last civilian hospitals in the region are being converted into clinics by militants.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen proposed to hold a meeting of the European Board with the Government of Ukraine in Kyiv in early February. The EU plans to provide consultations with Ukraine at the highest level to once again demonstrate support for the country in the face of russia’s full-scale invasion. According to the preliminary plan, about 10-15 authorized European officials will meet with their colleagues in the capital.

The Polish newspaper Polsat News reported that mayors of four European capitals came to Kyiv: Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Prague Zdenek Hřib, Mayor of Bratislava Matusz Vallo and Mayor of Budapest Gergely Koracsonyi. They arrived in the capital of Ukraine at the invitation of Mayor Vitalii Klytschko.

According to the Commander of Kyiv Defence Forces, Oleksandr Pavliuk, the units are reinforcing the system of fortifications in the north of Kyiv oblast. In the first place, engineering units mine roads, forest areas, and power lines to prevent the enemy from quickly cutting into our battle formations for further inflicting fire damage by artillery.

DTEK reported that stabilization schedules of power outages are in effect in Kyiv and the oblast. An updated schedule that was made considering the difficult situation with the power system in our country continues to be in effect for residents of Kyiv oblast. Power shortage has increased in Kyiv due to weather conditions and higher electricity consumption by industry and business.

The Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in Kyiv reported that repair works in the premises of two courts, which were destroyed as a result of the attack on the capital at the beginning of the full-scale war, have been completed. Windows and doors in the buildings were completely smashed, dropped ceilings with lighting, offices and courtrooms were damaged.

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, there are no plans to install concrete shelters at public transport stops in Kyiv. Currently, there are no relevant national standards or regulations to construct such shelters, where the category of shelter strength, the permissible number of people, availability of a toilet, etc. are specified.

In the capital, almost 2,400 citizens have undergone first aid training arranged by the city last year. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the specialists of the Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine of Kyiv help to master life-saving skills.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that they exposed and served a notice of suspicion to a priest of one of the monasteries of the UOC (MP) in Zhytomyr oblast. He publicly supported russian invaders and justified their war crimes, approved enemy missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and called on the enemy to capture Kyiv. According to experts, the documented ‘publications’ threaten the state security of Ukraine.

25 veterans who were wounded are engaged in various sports in the Zhytomyr Regional Center Invasport. Among them, there is an ATO veteran, military chaplain Andrii Zabihailo, who is undergoing rehabilitation, doing sitting volleyball and preparing for the international competition Patriot Games. According to Head of the Center, Yurii Panasiuk, in order to attract war veterans, they practise various sports – powerlifting, sitting volleyball, rowing on simulators, and swimming.

Volunteers of the Zhytomyr Humanitarian Hub delivered several hundred systems for dropping ammunition from drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All systems donated by volunteers will be sent to the frontline. Volunteers in cooperation with the regional military administration and the Zhytomyr City Council plan to deliver a thousand of such systems to the Ukrainian military. 

Sumy oblast

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that the russians launched 33 shells on the communities of Sumy oblast

The enemy shelled the Velyka Pysarivka community with mortars. There were 12 incoming shells. Farm warehouses were damaged. 21 mortar bombs were fired at the territory of the Esman community.

In the morning, the occupiers continued attacking the border areas of the oblast, shelling the territory of the Znob-Novhorodske community with mortars. In total, there were 10 incoming shells, as a result of which a private house was damaged.

The 93rd Independent Mechanized Brigade Kholodny Yar received a car from benefactors. UAH115K was raised by the Trostyanets charity fund Dobrota. A Volkswagen Multivan was purchased abroad, which was repaired by the volunteers before being sent to the front.

According to the police of Sumy oblast, the former head of  the regional military administration will be brought to court in Sumy oblast. According to the investigation, the official appropriated diesel fuel worth UAH 588 027 in March. The real property of the former official was seized for compensation of damages.

Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi said that it is recommended to resume online learning at educational institutions in Sumy oblast. According to the head, such instruction is more productive and will not cost students their summer vacation. This recommendation does not apply to educational institutions located in border areas, as remote education is the only option for them.

In Sumy, the Promotion Agency Sumy opened an exhibition of works by photographer Serhiy Chepulsky. Visitors are encouraged to donate any amount to the fund “Peace! Do It!”. The money will be used to purchase vehicles for the defenders fighting towards Bakhmut.

Romny’s water utility services received a diesel generator from benefactors. The IVEKO diesel generator, 350 kW, was delivered to the Vodokanal of Romny City Council from the charitable foundation Development of Posul.

New equipment for determining DNA profile is available in Sumy. Using this technology, experts will be able to identify a fallen soldier by DNA within 90 minutes. It will also allow resolving disputed issues regarding paternity. The equipment is located in the Sumy Scientific Research Forensic Center.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that yesterday, the russians opened mortar fire on the Horodnia community in Chernihiv oblast. There were 21 explosions near Senkivka village.

A 10-year-old student from the Chernihiv oblast border area school earned UAH 3500 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by putting her drawings up for auction. Nastia, a girl with special educational needs, lives in the Snovsk community. Together with her psychologist, she contributed to the support of the military by donating drawings with ‘combat geese’ and the Ukrainian flag for the charity auction.

Foreign blogger and his accomplice will be put on trial in Chernihiv oblast for producing anti-Ukrainian fake news. The culprits were detected by law enforcement officers in November 2022, one of them is a citizen of a European country. The accomplices spread propaganda to an audience of more than half a million. The fake stories they produced were also broadcast abroad by means of pro-russian channels.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Chernihiv oblast received 200 generators from benefactors. The help came from the Redlener family together with donors from different countries. The generators from this batch have low power and consume little energy. This is exactly what is needed at the military positions and in invincibility centres.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the night was difficult in Nikopol. Three times the enemy shelled the communities of the region. The occupiers directed more than 20 barrel artillery shells at the peaceful territories of the region. There is destruction.  As a result of the shelling, a store, industrial and private enterprises, 3 residential buildings, 3 farm buildings, 2 cars, a bus, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged in Marhanets. The Chervonohryhorivka community was attacked, too. In Nikopol, a private enterprise was destroyed, 4 residential buildings and 3 power lines were damaged. Due to the enemy attack, 4,370 houses in the city are now without electricity.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, reported that in the afternoon, the russians shelled the Nikopol region again. They hit Marganets with heavy artillery. A 26-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized due to minor shrapnel wounds to his shoulder and face.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia educators were trained to prevent risks associated with explosive objects. Specialists of the Association of Sappers of Ukraine conducted the training for community school teams. In particular, educators were told about mine traps, signs of dangerous areas and a model of behaviour in an emergency.

The Vinnytsia City Council reported that Serhii Morhunov gave the military a laptop that will help monitor the enemy. Powerful equipment is needed both to control drones and quickly process the received data.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andrii Raikovych, more than UAH 23 K were collected during the SmakFest “Shchedryk”. The funds have been transferred to the volunteer charity fund.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Poltava oblast is one of the top three oblasts of Ukraine where the largest number of internally displaced doctors (310) have been employed. 

Cherkasy oblast

The city of Cherkasy received further support from Polish partners. In particular, the non-governmental organization Association of Friends of Bydgoszcz handed over 100K zlotys. These funds will be used to purchase equipment for one of the city’s utility companies.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not undergone significant changes over the past day. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions.

On January 10, the occupiers shelled the settlements of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Chervone, Pavlivka, Kamianske, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Olhivske, Shcherbaky, Steponohirsk, Prymorske, and Stepove. The police received 11 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

Yesterday, on January 10, employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine extinguished three fires caused by russian hostilities in the Polohy region. Also, during the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service discovered the remains of a projectile from the Smerch MLRS, a projectile of the S-300 system, and an element of a cluster projectile. All explosive objects have been destroyed.

The General Staff reported that the russian invaders had taken away access to the ZNPP from 1,500 workers. The employees refused to receive russian passports and sign a contract with Rosatom. The occupiers are looking for new workers for the NPP on the territory of the russian federation and are preparing a housing fund for future workers through the so-called ‘nationalization’ of the apartments of local residents who have left the occupied territories.

According to available information, hospitals in Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia oblast, are full of wounded servicemen. Therefore, the russian occupying forces have equipped 3 more military hospitals last week.

The International Organization of Migration comprehensively supports Invincibility Centres arranged in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 35 gasoline generators with a capacity of 8-9 kW have arrived in the oblast to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the Centers. In addition, the International Organization for Migration has provided kits for the emergency repair of damaged buildings, as well as provided for the repair of bomb shelters in the regional center.

Mykolaiv oblast

The Mykolaiv RMA reports that at noon on January 10, air defense forces shot down a russian Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle in Mykolaiv oblast.

On January 10, at 6:35 p.m., the enemy hit Ochakiv with rocket launchers. There are no casualties. During the night, the enemy bombarded the territory of the Kutsurub community with MLRS, firing more than 40 missiles. The consequences are being clarified. According to preliminary information, there are no victims.

On Wednesday, January 11, a single rehabilitation space for released prisoners of war was presented in Mykolaiv. Currently, the oblast is working on a program to provide rehabilitation services for those returned from captivity. Also, during the presentation, the results of the work of the Coordinating Staff on the Treatment of Prisoners of War were presented. Since its opening, 36 exchanges have been carried out and 1,646 people have been released from enemy captivity, including 1,540 military personnel.

Odesa oblast

On January 11, air defense forces shot down a russian operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle in Odesa oblast. This was reported by the press center of the ‘South’ Operational Command.

Kherson oblast

russian troops attacked a perinatal center in Kherson. As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out, windows in the children’s department were broken and one of the doctor’s offices damaged. 1 employee of the perinatal center was injured.

Due to numerous explosions in Kherson downtown today, the building of the Kherson State University was damaged. The blast wave destroyed the glass in the windows, and also broke the bench in the yard.

The occupiers also fired at a critical infrastructure facility in the village of Mykilske, the Dariivka community. Three people received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

On January 10, the russian occupiers shelled Kherson oblast 63 times. Kherson was shelled 24 times by the russians.The city’s residential quarters were attacked. The occupiers shelled an educational institution, a hospital, private and apartment buildings. 5 people were injured of varying degrees of severity.

Yesterday, the police opened 35 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army in Kherson oblast. The police continue receiving reports of looting by the russian military from the residents of the de-occupied territories. Most of the applications concern the theft of private motor vehicles. In the temporarily occupied town of Ivanivka the russian military seized and ransacked a bank branch, took cash, an ATM safe, took away furniture, computer equipment, and other valuables. In the temporarily Nyzhni Sirohozy, the russian military is looting houses whose owners have left for the controlled territory.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In Lutsk, heads of twelve educational institutions of the Lutsk community signed Memorandums of understanding to implement peace projects and expand international cooperation.

The children of a fallen soldier from Volyn handed over UAH 2K to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yevhen Holovchak was killed while performing a combat mission in Kharkiv oblast on October 8, 2022. Six children were left without their father, the youngest daughter is not even two years old. As a father of many children, he had the right to resign from the service, but he didn’t.

Zakarpattia oblast

Almost one and a half hundred children from the liberated Kherson oblast came to Zakarpattia for winter vacation. They will rest in the camp in Irshava for three weeks.

Another bath-laundry complex on wheels was sent from Zakarpattia for the needs of the Armed Forces. The mobile sanitation point will go to the front line. This time it is a converted Renault truck.

The City council of Zakarpattia reported that the Czech Vysochyna region transferred humanitarian aid to geriatric and psychoneurological institutions of Zakarpattia.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

For the oblast, the night limit from midnight to 07 am, which is 229.31 MW, and the daytime limit of 300.46 MW for the daytime period from 07 am to midnight have been proven by the dispatcher of Ukrenergo per day.

Lviv oblast

A coordination meeting was held in Lviv to discuss the security situation in the north-western oblasts of Ukraine, namely state border protection, the operational situation on the border with the republic of belarus, and counter-subversive measures in these territories. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the meeting.

Four Lviv IT companies and the Lviv IT Cluster purchased equipment to provide Wi-Fi in shelters. As part of this initiative, over 20 educational institutions have already been equipped with internet connection points in shelters.

In the Chervonohrad region, volunteers performing nativity scenes raised funds for a quadcopter with a thermal imager for the 24th separate assault battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In two days, carolers managed to collect over UAH 160K.

The Artvertep Avantiura visited all military units of Lviv oblast and the Western Territorial Administration of the National Guard with a carol. A colourful performance with carols in the military style was presented to support the fighting spirit of the defenders.

Rivne oblast

Head of the Rivne RMA, Vitalii Koval is on a visit to Lviv. A coordination meeting is held there under the chairmanship of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Residents of the village of Radove of the Loknytsk community sent a humanitarian cargo to the residents of the Novomykolaiv village council of Kherson oblast. Volunteers of the Christian Church of the Evangelical Faith, together with fellow villagers, collected 40 cubic metres of firewood and 600 gifts for the children of military personnel.

Ternopil oblast

The City Council reported that another batch of winter uniforms for defenders from the Territorial Defense, who are currently defending Ukraine at the front, was sent from Ternopil. Employees of the Ternopil City Council spent their salary to buy warm clothes.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded state awards to military personnel from Ternopil oblast (posthumously). Awards were given to relatives of the Heroes.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The Khmelnytskyi Regional Hospital, where wounded fighters and IDPs are treated, received a powerful 200 kW generator from an Italian company. 

The hero of Khmelnytskyi, the senior soldier Dmytro Martynenko, was posthumously awarded with the Order For Courage III degree. The award was presented to the wife of the fallen soldier.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi received 10 powerful generators purchased by the city. Also, Chernivtsi received another 17 generators from the Ukrainian-German organization Yellow-Blue Cross and 74 small pots from the sister city of Mannheim. All equipment will be sent to social institutions and heating points.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Нead of the European Council Michel announced that since the war began, Ukraine has received about EUR 50 billion in aid from EU countries.

Head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Berbock, announced a EUR 20 million aid to Ukraine.

During a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, advocated the supply of German Leopard tanks and other heavy military equipment to Ukraine.

President of Poland, Duda, announced that his country will transfer a company of Leopard tanks to Ukraine as part of the creation of an international coalition.

The US Ministry of Defense announced that the Armed Forces will be able to receive American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in the next few weeks

Minister of Defense of Canada, Anita Anand, announced that her country will acquire the NASAMS air defense complex from the USA and transfer it to Ukraine.

Minister of Defense Inara Murniece, stated that Latvia will offer Ukraine a new batch of portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems. The country is also considering the possibility of training the Ukrainian military on its territory. Latvia will announce its list of military support after the meeting of allies at the Ramstein base, which will take place on January 20.

The Ukrainian military will begin to be trained to use the Patriot air defense system next week at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma range is one of four major training centres for the US Army.

Head of the defense committee of the Bundestag, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, stated that the Bundestag proposed to teach the military to use Leopard tanks.

Britain announced that they are also considering provision of tanks to Ukraine. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has asked Defense Secretary Ben Wallace to speed up support for Ukraine, including supplying tanks.

In a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Emmanuel Macron promised that France would supply Bastion armoured personnel carriers and French AMX-10RC tanks to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the US Civilian Research and Development Fund (CRDF Global) agreed on cooperation in the field of cyber security and support for the implementation of cyber defense measures.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander de Croo. They discussed the urgent defense needs of Ukraine against the background of a possible escalation at the front.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of Estonia Alar Karis. Defense support and the situation at the front were discussed, as well as coordinated steps regarding further Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held the first phone conversation with Prime Minister of Ireland Leo Varadkar. They discussed support for Ukraine’s energy system and post-war recovery.

The Ombudsman of Ukraine met with the representative of the UNICEF Children’s Fund in Turkey, Regina De Dominicis. They discussed cooperation between the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine and the representative office of UNICEF in Turkey.

Chairman of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission, Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine Oleh Korikov, reported that IAEA will deploy monitoring missions at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

The G7 countries plan to introduce two price ceilings for petroleum products from russia at once. Starting in February, an option may be introduced for products that trade at a premium to crude oil, and another for those products that trade at a discount.

The Czech company Excalibur Army, which modernizes tanks for Ukraine, is investing more than EUR 27 million in expanding its own production facilities.
