War in Ukraine today: latest news for October 08, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 227th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military invasion.

According to the propaganda media outlet “RIA Novosti” citing “the advisor of Crimean authorities”, the railway line of the Crimean bridge has exploded. The fuel container supposedly caught on fire and was burning. The traffic on the bridge was stopped.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 18.00: 

The enemy attempts to hold the ground in the temporarily occupied territories and focuses on thwarting the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in certain directions. They are sporadically launching offensive actions towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka. 

The enemy fires at our positions along the entire contact line, erects the defensive constructions in certain directions and conducts the aerial reconnaissance. 

There were enemy strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings violating the norms of the International humanitarian law, traditions and customs of war. 

The territory of Ukraine is exposed to the threat of missile and rocket strikes. The occupiers launched 3 missiles and 16 air strikes, fired 12 times from multi rocket launch systems. 

Civilians and facilities were affected by the enemy strikes in over 15 settlements, namely Bilovody, Hrabovske, Slavhorod, Udy, Chuhunivka, Kharkiv, Chasiv Yar, Bilohorivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation didn’t significantly change. The measures on troop inspection will be taken until October 15 in Belarus. The airspace closure was extended in the southern parts of this country. 

The enemy has been firing towards:

Siversk from barrel artillery in the area of Senkivka, Bleshnia, Mykolaivka, Chernihiv oblast, Bachivsk, Starykove, Kindrativka, Bilovody, Sumy oblast; 

Sloboda from tanks, mortars and artillery in the areas of Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Varvarivka, Neskuchne, Ternova and Dvorichna;

Kramatorsk from mortars, barrel and reactive artillery in the areas of Novoeihorivka, Makiivka, Yampolivka, Dronivka, Serebrianka, Bilohorivka, Vesele and Hryhorivka; 

Bakhmut from various types of artillery in the areas of Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Opytne, Maiorsk, New York; 

Avdiivka from tanks, barrel and reactive artillery in the areas of Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka.

Towards Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy didn’t launch any offensive actions. The enemy attacked the infrastructure of over 20 settlements, namely Temyrivka, Zalene Pole, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Olhivske, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Charivne and Myrne. 

Towards the South Buh, over 40 settlements were attacked. The enemy once again used Iranian kamikaze drones to hit the infrastructure of Nikopol and Mykolaiv oblasts. 

The enemy is suffering losses. Local doctors can’t cope with the number of wounded occupiers in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast. 

Based on the verified information, 30 wounded occupiers were transported to the hospital in Lysychansk, Luhansk oblast. Additional medical staff was sent there.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, Krasnohorivka and Terny. 

The air defense units of Ukraine made 7 precise strikes on the enemy’s anti missile and anti aircraft systems. One Orlan UAV was also brought down by the Ukrainian air defence forces.

The air defense units and artillery of Ukraine inflicted losses and damage to eight locations of buildup of manpower, weapons and military equipment, two ammunition depots and ten other important targets.

Relying on the Enerhoatom, by constant shelling, the occupiers caused the blackout of the last power line of ZNPP. Diesel generators turned out automatically. Diesel fuel reserves will be sufficient for ten days in such operation mode. Enerhoatom also added that the power units under the constant shelling and with damaged lines can’t be brought into operation.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 18 settlements were under russian shelling. The invaders fired with tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery. The enemy shelled at least 11 settlements, including Dvorichna, Kozacha Lopan and Udy.

Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine, Viktor Liashko, informed that the mobile hospital in Izium performs up to four operations a day and receives around 100 patients.

Investigators found bodies with gunshot wounds at a recreation centre in Novoplatonivka village, Borova community. Police, while inspecting the pit where russian troops were holding people during the occupation of Borova community, found initials scratched on the walls and trash from russian dry rations. The bodies were recovered from the pit, and expertise will be performed to establish the cause of death, but there is no doubt that they were tortured. They died in the pit.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that after midnight, the invaders launched 5 missile strikes: one on Osnova district and four on  Saltiv district.

S-300 type missiles were launched from russian Belgorod. A sports complex, non-residential premises, outbuildings, cars, garages were damaged and open areas hit. Preliminarily, a 45 year old man was hospitalised with shrapnel wounds, his condition is moderate.

Parts of a rocket, exploded in the air and fell on the roof of a two-storey office building in Saltiv district, were found on Heroi Nebesnoi Sotni Square.

The invaders targeted Bohodukhiv, Izium, Krarkiv and Kupiansk districts.

According to the Regional Centre for Emergency Medical Care, a total of 6 people were hospitalised: 4 in Izium, 1 man in Kharkiv and 1 injured in Kharkiv district, as a result of running over a mine.

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine removed and defused 695 explosive objects.

The Kharkiv Regional Police said that the bodies of three women and a man were found in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village, which was de-occupied at the end of September. All the deceased have signs of gunshot wounds.

Donetsk oblast

Referring to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Donetsk oblast is one of the most contaminated with explosives in the world. 255 explosive objects were found in the region.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that more than two dozen civilians killed during the occupation of the city were reburied in Sviatohirsk. All the bodies were identified. He also noted that torture chambers were found in Lyman community, with many bodies showing signs of violent death. All results on the death toll will be reported after expert examinations. According to him, there are individual civilian and military burials and mass graves in Lyman.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that russians killed 6 civilians: 1 in Bakhmut, 2 in Ocheretyne, 1 in Pavlivka and 2 in Zarichne. In addition, 9 more civilians killed by the enemy during the occupation were found in liberated communities: 6 in Lyman, 2 in Sviatohirsk and 1 in Yarova. 17 people were injured yesterday.

At night, russians were most active in Horlivka direction: they shelled Bakhmut, Soledar and Toretsk communities.

In Bakhmut, 1 person was killed and 7 injured. 6 private and 3 apartment buildings, a kindergarten, a sports complex, an entertainment centre and an administrative building were damaged. Soledar and Toretsk communities were under fire, without casualties. In Pavlivka, a child born in 2006 was killed by russian Grads, and there are injured adults.

Overnight there were also isolated hits on the old part of Avdiivka and in the morning there was massive shelling of downtown. There were no reports of casualties.

The enemy launched a rocket attack on Kurakhove in the morning. As a result, one person was killed, 3 people injured and 6 apartment buildings damaged. Pyrotechnics, rescuers and police are working at the site.

Power engineers restored power supply to more than 8 K families in Bakhmut district. Due to constant shelling, 79 settlements are left without power.

The invaders give out communal equipment purchased by Ukrainian Mariupol as a “gift” from russia. The invaders labelled “russia of Donbas” on the equipment purchased with city and regional funds for Komunalnyk communal enterprise.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, around 30 injured russian invaders were delivered to a children’s hospital in Lysychansk.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that the aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 30 strikes, hitting 24 concentrations of weapons and military equipment and 6 anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, air defence units shot down two enemy helicopters.

Rocket and artillery forces hit two control posts, one area of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, two areas of artillery positions, a radar station and an electronic warfare complex.

Units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Kamianka, Krasna Hora, Krasnohorivka, Maiorsk, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Odradivka, Ozerianivka, Pervomaiske, Pobieda, Ternovi Pody, Vesele, Vyimka and Zaitseve settlements.

The enemy shelled dozens of settlements, in particular:

  • in Bakhmut direction – Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Ivanhrad, Maiorsk, Niu-York, Odradivka, Opytne, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Vesele, Vyimka, Yakovlivka and Zaitseve;
  • in Kramatorsk direction –  Bilohorivka, Dronivka, Hrekivka Hryhorivka, Ivanivka, Raihorodok, Serebrianka, Spirne, Terny, Torske, Verkhmokamianske  and Vesele.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

In Germany, the mayor of Bucha, Anatoliy Fedoruk, testified about the war crimes committed by the russians during the city occupation in spring. He said that criminal prosecution authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany and the International Criminal Court (ICC), together with Ukraine and other countries, are investigating russian war against Ukraine. Fedoruk appealed to all Ukrainians living abroad to contribute to the investigation, if they were a witness or a victim of war crimes to contact the local police station.

In the Dymer community of the Vyshhorod district, funding to support displaced persons and local residents who lost their homes due to the russian aggression will be doubled. Deputies made relevant changes to 2022 budget at a meeting of the Dymer settlement council. The funds will be used to install modular houses on the territory of the community for people who lost their homes due to the war.

Mobile libraries are being assembled in the capital for Ukrainian military personnel who are on the front lines. As part of the “Come Back Alive” project, you can buy a book at a discounted price in the municipal bookstore “Siaivo knyhy”, sign it or enclose a postcard for defenders. The books will be handed over to the association “Culturnyi Desant”, which will deliver them to the front by the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.

The interactive maze “Don’t miss – check again” appeared in Kyiv on Kontraktova Square. Its main goal is to increase the level of media literacy of Ukrainians and strengthen resistance to misinformation. The labyrinth consists of 12 informational and educational rooms, where visitors will be able to gain applied knowledge and skills on information security by playing games with real scenarios and tasks.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the crystal microphone of the Kalush group, the winners of Eurovision 2022, arrived by train to Kyiv. The new cup was made to replace the previous one, sold at a charity auction to support the Armed Forces.

Zhytomyr oblast

The head of the regional military administration Vitaly Bunechko said that over the past month, Zhytomyr oblast has handed over 150 tons of humanitarian aid to our defenders in the east of Ukraine. The humanitarian headquarters of Zhytomyr RMA, together with philanthropists and international organizations, continues to help the Ukrainian military liberating occupied Ukrainian cities every day.

The Eastern Europe Fund, in cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and with the support of the USAID “HOVERLA” Project, developed an online course “Civil Security and Emergency Preparedness”, as well as a video lesson “Caution: Mines”. The State Emergency Service of Zhytomyr oblast offers to use these video materials to teachers and students of grades 5-9. The course combines elements of the Minecraft computer game with educational material, which will allow children to better perceive it and learn it more easily.

On October 14, the Zhytomyr College of Music invites you to participate in a charity project to support forced migrants and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The program includes a master class on weaving camouflage nets, a concert, a charity fair-auction of craft works.

Sumy oblast

The head of Sumy RMA Dmytro Zhivytskyi reported  that the enemy fired 84 munitions on the border territory of Sumy oblast, including mines, shells and 18 missiles fired from helicopters from the russian territory. Khotyn, Krasnopillia, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske and Velyka Pysarivka communities were under enemy fire. Most destruction was caused to Krasnopillia community. Houses and railway tracks were damaged. A 51-year-old local civilian man was killed following the rocket attack.

Construction materials were delivered to Myropillia community as humanitarian aid. Houses damaged by the russian strike on October 6 are being rebuilt. The broken gas pipes have already been repaired, and the power grid has been restored.

The regional military administration is urging people to evacuate from the territories under the russian fire.      

Head of RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi advised that internally displaced persons are provided with free accommodation and financial support.

Sumy RMA reported that Sumy oblast is 98% ready for the heating season. The oblast plans to launch the heating season by the end of October. First of all, social institutions will be connected, followed by residential and administrative buildings.

The Okhtyrka TPS is being restored. Preparatory work has been completed, the foundation has been laid, the necessary equipment has been supplied. A new boiler will be installed next week. A joint project with Naftogaz JSC to equip a boiler room with alternative fuel is being implemented.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Service reported that Semenivka community in Chernihiv oblast was heavily attacked by the occupiers. There were four dozen hits from the territory of the russian federation. Along the border of the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Snovsk communities, the enemy struck with barrel artillery. 27 explosions were recorded. The vicinity of one of the settlements of Horodnya community came under enemy mortar shelling. There were 16 explosions

The “North” OC reported that the enemy continues to strike near the border settlements of Mykolaivka, Khrinivka, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, using self-propelled guns, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars.

The road services in Chernihiv oblast opened the first tender for dismantling bridge parts destroyed during the russian invasion. According to the information provided by the “Prozoro” system, by the end of this year, they plan to dismantle the rubble on three bridges for a total amount of about 10 million UAH.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In Nikopol district, the enemy shelled three communities from MRLS.

According to the head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, Marhanets TC was hit twice overnight. As a result of the shelling, two farm buildings were destroyed, more three dozen animals were killed: russians “denazified” chickens and rabbits. One farm building was destroyed in Myrivska TC. Four residential buildings, a bus stop, a gas pipeline, and power lines were mutilated. In Chervonohryhorivka community, about half a thousand houses are left without power. 

In Kryvyi Rih, relatives of the soldiers held a rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war who defended Mariupol. Relatives of captured and missing soldiers claim that they are waiting for a response from international organizations, specifically the International Red Cross, to ensure that the rights of prisoners of war, stipulated by the Geneva Convention, are respected.

Vinnytsia oblast

Almost 50K UAH were collected at charity tournaments held in Hnivan, Vinnytsia oblast, for the Armed Forces. Football, table tennis, ping-pong, arm wrestling and intellectual and psychological games were held.

Kirovohrad oblast

A volunteer craft fair took place in Kropyvnytskyi. According to co-organizer of the fair Svitlana Dubyna-Lytvinenko, 16 teams of volunteers from 10 communities of the region arrived to present what their teams had made: from food and clothes to release systems for drones and evacuation stretchers.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, a free pottery workshop was organized for the children of internally displaced persons. Project coordinator Valeriia Petko informed that they were taught to work with clay using the potter’s wheel. The training was arranged by the “Caritas Poltava” charitable foundation.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On the night of October 8, at 00:59, the russian military shelled and damaged the last line of ZNPP communication with the Ukrainian power system. The station was completely de-energized. This was reported by Enerhoatom. Diesel generators turned on automatically. The available diesel fuel supplies will be enough for 10 days of operations in this mode.

The occupiers did not conduct offensive actions towards Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia. Enemy fire damaged infrastructure in 16 settlements. Vremivka, Temyrivka, Olkhivske, Huliaipilske and Zaliznychne are among the shelled cities. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yesterday, the occupying forces launched 5 rocket attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs. Civilians once again became the aggressor’s target. As a result of the rocket attack, two preschools, vehicles, six high-rise buildings and the adjacent yard were damaged. Two people were injured. Another blow was inflicted on an infrastructural facility on the coastline of the Dnipro river. Windows in the administrative building were damaged.

On the night of October 8, the russian military attacked the village of Kyrpotne, Komyshuvakha territorial community with Smerch MLRS. The village was shelled with cluster munitions. One person was killed, four people injured, including a one-year-old child.

Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, and Mala Tokmachka were attacked by the enemy. In total, law enforcement officers documented 18 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Emergency and rescue work continues in Zaporizhzhia at the site of destroyed residential buildings as a result of rocket strikes on October 6. As of the morning of October 8, 17 killed people (including 1 child) were pulled from under the rubble, 21 people were rescued, 12 of them were hospitalized. The rescue operations are ongoing. 

Enemy units continue to suffer losses. Thus, the enemy lost about 85 people wounded as a result of shelling by units of the Defense Forces at manpower buildups near Polohy and Tokmak. The information about the liquidated personnel is being clarified.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, Halytsyniv and Ochakiv territorial communities were under enemy fire. Residential buildings were damaged.

Bereznehuvate community was shelled by russian military. The information about losses is being clarified.

On October 7, Shyroke community was shelled. The hits were approximately at 12:30, 17:30 and 23:30 in the stadium, open areas, and roads. Also today, October 08, the shelling was recorded in two settlements of the community. The agricultural enterprise, warehouses, and equipment suffered significant destruction. There are no casualties.

At night on October 8, approximately at 02:00, Bashtanka community was shelled. The administration building, kindergarten, school, and clinic premises were damaged. The windows, roof and ceiling were damaged in three residential buildings. There were no casualties.

On the morning of October 8, the mobile fire group of the Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade shot down a kamikaze drone “Shahed-136” in Mykolaiv oblast using a large-caliber “Utyos” machine gun. This was reported by the “South” Operational Command.

On October 8, another purified water dispensing point started operating in Mykolaiv. This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council. Water comes from a well and is purified using a modular reverse osmosis station. The drinking water point will be open daily from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM, except during the air alert period.

Odesa oblast

On October 7, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the russian occupying forces attacked Odesa and Mykolaiv oblast with three “Shahed-136” kamikaze drones. All three winged suicide bombers were shot down by the air defense forces and means of the “South” Air Command.

The enemy group in the Black sea consists of 14 ships. 4 missile carriers, including 2 submarines, are on standby. The total equipment of “Calibers” is 24 missiles. A large landing ship and a landing craft are also on duty.

On October 8, seven ships with more than 172K tons of agricultural products left the ports of Odesa oblast through the “grain corridor”. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Ships go to countries in Asia and Europe.

Kherson oblast

The situation in the South Buh direction is quite tense, controlled. The armed forces of Ukraine deoccupied more than 2 400 square kilometers in the south. Six settlements were liberated  in Kherson district, and 61- towards Beryslav. Stabilization measures were carried out in 19 settlements  in Beryslav district. The population evacuation is underway. In Zolotaia Balka and Havrylivka, work was carried out to restore mobile coverage. In the near future, there are plans to restore coverage in Velyka Oleksandrivka and Davydiv Brid. Part of the critical infrastructure cannot be restored in Arkhanhelsk, Vysokopillia and Osokorivka.

The enemy is conducting defensive operations to hold the captured territories in Kherson and Mykolaiv oblast and prevent the offensive actions of Ukrainian units. The occupiers are creating new lines of defense under the Armed Forces of Ukraine pressure. A new line of defense is being built in the form of trenches and radar protection in Beryslav — Nova Kakhovka area.

During the combat day, the enemy launched 2 air strikes on our positions in the area of the newly liberated territories. There were no losses. The enemy tried twice to advance with a motorized rifle platoon supported by a tank near Davydiv Brid and Mala Oleksandrivka. The enemy suffered losses and was forced to retreat.

Our aviation unit launched 15 air strikes. Rocket and artillery units performed more than 360 fire missions against enemy air defence forces, 3 forces and equipment buildups, and 1 stronghold in Beryslav district.

The enemy confirmed losses are 111 soldiers, 6 tanks, 8 large-caliber howitzers “Msta-B” and “Msta-S”, “Grad” MLRS, 2 ZRK S-300 launchers, 9 units of armored vehicles, a mortar complex “Sani”, self-propelled artillery and mortar installation “Nona-S”. 9 units of enemy equipment, namely tank, an armored car and artillery weapons, were significantly damaged.

The russian occupying forces continue shelling the civilian infrastructure and homes of the civilian population in the front-line villages of Beryslav district using heavy artillery. The enemy targeted residential areas and power lines. There are casualties among the civilian population. Due to the russian attack, part of the inhabitants were left without electricity, repair work is ongoing where possible. Sunflower seeds caught fire due to an enemy projectile hitting the farm warehouses.

Police officers continue to record war crimes committed by the russian army in the de-occupied territories. Thus, a 31-year-old local resident blew himself up on a stretcher in Novovorontsovka community. The man died instantly. 

In Kherson, the occupiers robbed a pharmacy, a security firm office, and a notary’s office, as well as stole a vehicle belonging to a local construction company.

Western regions

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that since the war began the oblast has welcomed 74 044 displaced persons. 

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that since the mid-summer, over 1 400 places for medium-term residence of IDPs have been arranged in the communities of the oblast. 

In the RMA a meeting with the Manager of the international charitable organization SOS Children’s Towns, Nataliya Kryvoruchko, was held. They discussed arranging playrooms for children of IDPs at 6 locations of the oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A delegation of ministers of education and science from 6 countries (the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine) visited the Kryvorivnia Lyceum. They discussed challenges teachers faced under the conditions of war.

Lviv oblast

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Poland Tomasz Zhymkowski and the Deputy of the Polish Seimas Pawel Kukiz paid a visit to Lviv oblast. The Polish delegation and the leadership of the Lviv RMA honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian and Polish soldiers at the Lychakiv cemetery.

The 29th Lviv International BookForum is held in Lviv. The goal is to become a platform for uniting Ukraine with the cultural world community. Over 20 foreign and Ukrainian speakers take part in the Forum.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the delegation of the Rivne RMA took part in a joint meeting in the Lublin Voivodeship. They discussed construction of a logistics center on the border territory of Poland for exporters.

Rivne oblast adopts the experience of Poland in alternative energy. On the recommendations of the Lublin Voivodeship, Head of the Rivne RMA, Vitaliy Koval, visited the biogas plant.

In Rivne a prayer breakfast was held. Priests of all denominations prayed for victory. Among those present were representatives of the clergy, authorities, businesses of the oblast and the organizer of such events in the USA, Doug Bjorli. Relatives of those fallen in the war were also invited.

Students in Duben region organized a charity fair. Over UAH 30K collected will be used to purchase military equipment for compatriots in the military.

Ternopil oblast

An Educational Hub was opened in Ternopil. This was possible thanks to the UN Population Fund and the Government of Sweden in cooperation with the Department of Education and Science of RMA. The Hub will operate within the framework of the network of Ukrainian Educational Hubs, which was designated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as a priority project in the field of education during the war unleashed by the rf.

Chortkiv market entrepreneurs cooperated and collected UAH 26K. The funds were enough to buy 55 rubber boots, warm socks and cigarettes. The aid will be sent to soldiers from Chortkiv region who are at the front.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

4 cars (buses and jeeps) were sent from Khmelnytskyi to the east. The aid was sent thanks to the charity organization Volunteers of Podillia.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi a special event for export-oriented business was held. They discussed actual instruments of financial support for enterprises in the conditions of martial law.

International support

The IMF will provide Ukraine with an additional 1.3 billion dollars. The new tranche will be directed to the support of Ukrainian defense capability, payment of social programs and strengthening stability of the economy.

President of France Macron announced that the EU will create a fund of 100 million euros, which will allow Ukraine to directly buy weapons in Europe.

Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen announced the EU will allocate 2 billion euros to Ukraine in the coming days.

Nineteen Ukrainian military personnel began training in the use of the Spada Aspide surface-to-air missile defense system. Training takes place in Zaragoza (Spain).

Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said that the new package of the EU sanctions provides for punishment for Turkey if it helps russia circumvent the restrictions.

Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, reported that the EU gas storages are 90% full ahead of winter.

Representatives of Latvia and Great Britain staged a protest against the presence of russia in the Federation’s committees. The Latvians Kristaps Kotans, Zintis Ekmanis and the British Ian Richardson and Mark Heywood resigned.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the participants and guests of the Montenegro Security Forum.
