What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The russian Federation continues to conduct a full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. The enemy does not abandon its intentions to destroy the critical infrastructure of our state, continues to strike civilian targets and residents’ homes. 

The enemy inflicted 7 missile and 23 air strikes, as well as more than 15 MLRS attacks. 

There is still a threat of strikes on civilian targets throughout Ukraine.

Despite significant losses, The enemy does not abandon its intentions to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The invaders continued to focus their main efforts on offensive operations towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka. The enemy strengthens its grouping towards Liman and Bakhmut, actively using aviation to strike the positions of our units.

Towards Volyn, Polissya, Siversk and Sloboda, no significant changes occurred, there were no signs of offensive groups formed. The enemy continues to maintain its units in the border areas of Ukraine, and combat training measures continue. The enemy does not stop artillery shelling of the positions of our troops, as well as settlements near the contact line. More than 20 settlements were subjected to enemy shelling, namely Senkivka, Chernihiv oblast; Novovasylivka, Porokhon, Studenok, Starykove, Volfine, Sumy oblast and Vovchansk, Fiholivka and Dvorichne, Kharkiv region. The occupiers also launched air strikes near Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 15 settlements, namely Vilshana, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka and Peshchane of Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Kreminna, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, tank, mortar and artillery shelling was carried out in the areas of the settlements of Dispute, Berestovo, Vasyukovka, Paraskoviyivka, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Predtechyne, Bila Gora and Zalizne of the Donetsk region. In total – more than 20 settlements.

Towards Avdiivka and Novopavlivka, tank, mortar and artillery shelling hit areas of 17 settlements, in particular, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar. There were some enemy airstrikes near Vesele, Nevelske and Marinka.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, Vremivka and Novopil of Donetsk oblast and Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka and Stepove in Zaporizhzhia oblast suffered fire damage. Also, the enemy launched air strikes in the area of Mala Tokmachka.

Towards Kherson, the suburbs and the city of Kherson, and more than 20 settlements were damaged by enemy artillery fire, namely Zolota Balka, Mylove, Zmiivka, Vesele, Mykolaivka, Tiahynka, Tokarivka, Mykilske, Antonivka and Dniprovske, Kherson oblast.

In Nova Kakhovka, the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, in the period from February 7 to February 9, there are numerous cases of looting by Russian invaders. Newly arrived servicemen of the Russian occupation forces are actively loading looted property into military trucks.

In the city of Mariupol, Donetsk oblast, russian invaders repair their military equipment, which was deliberately disabled by russian servicemen not to take part in hostilities. The main cause of a malfunction of military equipment is the deliberate failure of engines. 

In order to compensate for large-scale military losses, since the beginning of February this year, russia has used about 1200 people from the russian Wagner private military company, who were recruited in prisons from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. 

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 16 strikes on buildups of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers and 2 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. Also, our defenders shot down the Su-25 and an Orlan-type UAV.

Units of the rocket troops and artillery for the day struck 4 areas of concentration of manpower.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny reports that in some areas of the front, the AFU restored positions and gained a foothold. The most tense situation is currently towards Donetsk. The invaders carry out up to 50 attacks daily. Fierce fighting continues in the area of Vuhledar and Marinka.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states that on the evening of February 10, russia  launched a UAV attack on Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure. The Air Force and other units of the Defense Forces shot down 20 kamikaze strike Shahed drones.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Yesterday, Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast suffered a massive missile attack. There is damage to critical energy infrastructure. As a result of one of the missile strikes, 8 civilians were injured.

At night, power supply was restored to 100% of residents in the city and region. However, due to the aftermath of the missile strike, special emergency blackout schedules will be applied in the oblast on February 11 and 12.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled at least 17 border settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, as a result of shelling and air strikes on Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, apartment buildings, industrial facilities, the Oshchadbank building, a pharmacy, a kindergarten and other civilian objects were damaged. A 69-year-old woman was injured and hospitalised. 

In Kupiansk, 7 private buildings were damaged by shelling. Two two-storey apartment buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged in Odnorobivka village, Bohodukhiv region.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that today, there were airstrikes on Vovchansk, damaging four private buildings.

Donetsk oblast

At night, russians shelled Karlivka, a relatively distant village in the Novohrodivka community, damaging a building.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that towards Volnovakha, the enemy attacked Bohoiavlivka with Grad multiple rocket launchers, Vuhledar came under constant shelling, no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Maksymilianivka were shelled, a building was destroyed in the latter. The Kurakhivka community suffered 5 attacks – 3 people were injured, 17 buildings, a school, an administrative building and a shop were damaged  in Uspenivka. In the morning, Avdiivka was shelled with artillery and Grad MRLs, there were no casualties.

Referring to the Donetsk RMA, towards Horlivka, 3 buildings were damaged in the Kostiantynivka community: 1 in Ivanopillia and 2 in Oleksandr-Shultyne. In the Soledar community, 5 buildings in Fedorivka were damaged and 2 buildings in Vasiukivka destroyed. In Bakhmut, an administrative building and a 9-storey building were damaged. 1 person was killed in Krasna Hora of the Bakhmut community. In the Toretsk community, a building in Toretsk and 3 buildings in Petrivka were damaged.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near Bilohorivka, Kreminna and Shypylivka.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy launched mortar and artillery attacks near Bilohorivka, Dibrova, Makiivka and Ploshchanka.

Yesterday, Defense Forces aviation launched 12 attacks on the enemy’s buildups and 4 attacks on the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informed that  rocket and artillery units hit 2 buildups of manpower, an ammunition depot, an anti-aircraft missile system position and 3 other important enemy targets.

As of today, Russians have officially disconnected mobile Internet in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast to restrict access to information for Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in schools, the invaders are massively checking children’s smartphones, looking for any content that would relate them to Ukraine. Children are forced to be humiliated and endure these regular abusive procedures.

In the frontline occupied settlements, there is a shortage of food and medicines in shops that are limited in their work, such as in Kreminna.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv city Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported that the Kyiv City Council appealed to the International Olympic Committee, diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations to prevent the participation of russian and belarusian athletes in the Olympic and Asian Games. He emphasized that in almost a year of war, as a result of russia’s barbaric aggression, 220 Ukrainian athletes who could represent Ukraine at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 were killed. Due to the war, more than 320 sports facilities were damaged. As of January 2023, losses from the destruction of sports infrastructure in Ukraine exceed $250 million.

The curfew in the Kyiv oblast will be in effect every day from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Such temporary restrictions, according to the order of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, have been extended throughout the region until February 19.

The Makariv head Vadym Tokar reported that residents of the village and surrounding settlements will hear the sounds of explosions due to military drills of units of the defense forces in the community.

The KCMA reported that pyrotechnicians in Kyiv oblast regularly conduct training for sappers, as well as planned demining operations. In particular, on February 10, in the Vyshhorod region, the liquidation of explosive objects took place.

During the evening air strike, the Kyiv metro did not stop at two stations. Disembarkation of passengers was not carried out at Arsenalna and Vydubychi stations, as the stations worked only in shelter mode due to the large crowd of people on the platform. As reported by the KCSA, the metro is gradually resuming normal operation.

The Kyiv RMA reported that more than 2K infrastructure facilities damaged during the full-scale invasion in Ukraine by russian troops will be restored in the oblast by the end of March. It is noted that, in general, more than 27K infrastructure objects were damaged in the Kyiv oblast due to hostilities. To date, 10,154 objects have been fully and partially restored.

The Kyiv Digital app has improved the settings of air alarm notifications, and now you can choose a new sound for the alert. The developers have added the option to enable critical or pinned notifications.

A monument and part of a pedestal to soviet general Mykola Vatutin were dismantled in Mariinsky Park in Kyiv. The monument will be moved to the Aviation Museum. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy considers it expedient to move the grave of the soviet military leader, which is located in the Mariinsky Park, to another place.

The Ukrainian Women’s Guard held another tactical medicine training for women in Kyiv. The course, which lasted 4.5 hours, was conducted by a professional military medic who has participated in military operations since 2014 and completed tactical medicine courses in the United States. During the class, the participants learned how to properly apply a tourniquet, examine the injured, provide him/her with first aid and evacuate to a safe place.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr RMA reported that during the past year, the level of social assistance payments in Zhytomyr oblast amounted to almost UAH 4 billion. Despite the war, residents of the oblast’s communities received social services, all kinds of assistance, benefits, compensations and subsidies.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 112,000 displaced persons have found refuge in Zhytomyr oblast. Almost 70K IDPs decided to stay in Zhytomyr oblast. All of them received social assistance provided for by the legislation on time and in full. In particular, about 145K IDPs received housing assistance, amounting to about UAH 1.2 billion.

With the assistance of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, more than UAH 10 million  have been allocated for Zhytomyr oblast to purchase 8 apartments for IDPs from the East and South of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr received another aid from the Polish sister city of Plock – 15 generators, beds and goodies. It will be handed over to Ukrainian defenders. As reported by the city council, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Zhytomyr regularly receives help from its sister city.

An on-site appointment of a midwife-gynecologist, examination and consultations on reproductive health issues for resettled women were organized in Zhytomyr. Doctors of the regional perinatal center conducted such an appointment in the regional center for the first time. Since the beginning of the year, they have already visited patients from other communities of the oblast.

Sumy oblast

The enemy shelled 7 territorial communities: Seredino-Buda, Bilopillia, Velika Pysarivska, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Hlukhiv and Shalyhine. As reported by the Sumy RMA, in total more than 100 strikes were recorded, including the dropping of an explosive device from the UAV. Private residential buildings were damaged in Bilopillia and Esman communities due to shelling from mortars and barrel artillery.

The troops of the russian federation continue to shell the border areas of Sumy oblast. As reported in the ‘North’ Operational Command, the enemy carried out three hits in the vicinity of the settlement of Novovasylivka. There were 28 hits from mortars and 8 from barrel artillery. Information was also received about 6 shots from barrel artillery on the settlement of Vovkivka.

Community police officers received 21  vehicles and appropriate equipment as part of the Community Police Officer pilot project, in which 36 communities of the oblast participate. This is the second time that police officers have received new cars. Funds for the purchase of cars were allocated from the state budget and international partners from the USA and regional communities.

The official publication of the company “Transport Publiczny” reported that the Warsaw municipal tram company Tramwaje Warszawskie will hand over 23 tram cars to the city of Konotop. The first 13 cars are planned to be delivered to Ukraine by rail in the second half of February. Konotop is the only city in Sumy oblast where trams run.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that the Horodnianka, Semenivka, and Snovsk communities of Chernihiv oblast came under enemy fire. The enemy inflicted fire damage using mortars. There were 34 shots.

Head of the Chernihiv RMA Viacheslav Chaus reported that about 300 volunteers applied for the “Offensive Guard” in the oblast. Applications for joining one of the 8 battalions of the Guards can be submitted at 5 TsNAPs and through the website. According to the head of the RMA, volunteers are most interested in the military formations of the National Police and the National Guard.

The SBGS reported that the head of the border guard of Latvia visited the sites of war crimes of the russian federation and the site of the Chernihiv detachment. Guntis Pujats saw the consequences of the russian invasion at Hostomel Airport and in Irpin. In addition, the Latvian delegation visited the positions of border guards who guard the border under russian shelling.

In Chernihiv oblast, sappers of the State Emergency Service discovered dangerous remnants of the BM-27 “Uragan” MLRS, which contained cassette elements. An explosive object (EO) was found near the settlement of Podlisne, Kiptivska community, Chernihiv region. Pyrotechnicians transported the EO to the sorting area and will destroy it soon.

The Ladan Territorial Community of Pryluky region joined the newest project “Safety Educator”. In the Main Department of the National Police of the oblast, policemen, rescuers, educators and representatives of local self-government signed the Memorandum on cooperation and interaction on issues of security in the educational environment.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, yesterday evening the occupiers directed drones at energy infrastructure facilities in two regions of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. In the Kryvyi Rih region, the enemy attacked energy facilities in two communities. One of the objects was affected earlier. The Nikopol region was also attacked: a drone hit caused a fire at an energy infrastructure facility. The russian army attacked Dnipropetrovsk oblast three times during the day. The occupiers continue to terrorize peaceful communities with heavy artillery. Marhanets, Myrove, and Nikopol communities were shelled from the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast.  

According to Head of the RMA Serhii Lysak, Dnipropetrovsk oblast received 50 Starlink stations from Polish partners. The devices will be distributed between Invincibility Centres to provide them with Internet access. This will allow residents of the oblast to stay connected despite a possible blackout.

Vinnytsia oblast

The wreckage of a Kalibr sea-based cruise missile was found in Vinnytsia after the massive missile attack by russian occupiers.

In Vinnytsia, the action called “I Love the Armed Forces” , which includes a fair, performances, and a blood donation “Become a Hero in the Rear”, is held. The event was organized by the Vinnytsia Youth Association, the regional Blood Service Center, and the Diana Podolyanchuk Charitable Foundation.

Kirovohrad oblast

As part of the USAID (DOBRE) Request for Emergency Response program, the Kompaniivka community received four generators for educational institutions and the notification system of the Kompaniivka settlement council.

Poltava oblast

Teachers of an art school in Poltava paint ammunition to raise money for the fighters. The director of the institution, Iryna Konoplia, informed that volunteers sell food at auctions, and with the collected money buy necessary things for the military. According to her, they paint, in particular, projectiles, casings, and tubes from grenade launchers.

The International Charitable Fund AISM France-Ukraine donated generators for three Invincibility Centres deployed in educational institutions of Pyriatyn, as well as for the needs of the primary health care sector. In addition, medicines were provided to the Pyriatyn Hospital and the Center for Primary Health Care. Convectors, solar lamps, blankets, and first aid kits were also donated to the Invincibility Centres .

Cherkasy oblast

According to Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets, 4 cars were sent to different units from Cherkasy. The vehicles have a wide range of functions: from transportation of material and technical support to evacuation of the wounded. All the cars have undergone maintenance.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the situation did not undergo significant changes. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions. There were 150 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders launched from tanks, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire line of contact.

According to the National Security Service in Zaporizhzhia oblast, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in  Zaporizhzhia, Mala Tokmachka, Zatyshshia, Huliaipole, Bilohiria, Charivne, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Malynivka, Olhivske, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Novomykolaivka, Novoiakovlivka, Temyrivka, Poltavka, Chervone, Stepnohirsk, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Kamianske.

25  reports were received about the destruction of  houses (apartments) of citizens and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

No evacuation of the civilian population from the temporarily occupied territories was carried out.

In the city of Melitopol, collaborators working for the occupation administration were offered to renounce Ukrainian citizenship by writing a corresponding statement.

In some settlements of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia oblast, the russian occupiers continue to put pressure on local residents, introduce curfews, and conduct house inspections.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to  the report of the South Air Command, on February 10, during another massive missile attack, two cruise missiles were shot down over Mykolaiv oblast. 

The russian occupation forces attacked the south of the country with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. Air defense forces shot down eleven drones, including five over Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday morning,  the water area of the Kutsurub community came under artillery fire. There were no casualties.

According to Vitalii Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA, yesterday at 09:33, the enemy attacked the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties. 

Odesa oblast

The territory of Odesa oblast was attacked twice by air. In an attempt to create panic among the population of the areas bordering Moldova and unrecognized Transnistria, the russians sent 2 air-launched missiles at the critical infrastructure located there.

The enemy bombed Zmiinyi Island with two Su-24Ms, dropping 4 bombs. From the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, the enemy used 3 Oniks anti-ship missiles to hit the coastal zone.

According to Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Maksym Marchenko, air defense units of Ukraine shot down four Shahed kamikaze drones in the sky over Odesa oblast that were trying to hit energy infrastructure facilities. 

Kherson oblast

Russian invaders shelled the territory of Kherson region 63 times, firing from artillery, MLRS, mortars, and tanks. 4 UAVs were shot down over the region. 3 civilians were injured of varying severity.

The Kherson RMA reports that the Russian army shelled Kherson 16 times, residential buildings and the railway station were damaged by enemy shells.

The police opened 29 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes of the russian occupiers in the Kherson oblast. The enemy does not cease to shell Kherson and its suburbs, the Belozersk community, the city of Beryslav and the settlements of the region around the clock. The building of the village council was damaged, all windows and doors broken. An educational institution, apartments in high-rise buildings, private houses and cars were also damaged.

 According to the Kherson RMA, residents of Kherson oblast and communal institutions received assistance. Families in difficult life circumstances received rescue equipment and basic necessities; healthcare facilities were supplied with 8 ventilators, equipment and materials.

Volyn oblast

Zakarpattia oblast

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that they are launching the Unity Train for the second time, which this year will once again cross the country from west to east, connecting 9 oblasts of Ukraine: this time – from Uzhgorod to Kramatorsk.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A local Hero was commemorated in Ivano-Frankivsk. An annotation board was opened on the facade of Lyceum #11, where defender Maksym Rudenok once studied. The soldier was killed on June 28, 2022 in Zaporizhzhia oblast, defending Ukraine from russian aggression.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that yesterday, during a massive missile attack by the russian occupiers, soldiers of the air command shot down 9 missiles over Lviv oblast. There is a hit on the object of critical energy infrastructure. The second rocket of the occupiers fell 4 meters from the bus stop in the Zolochiv region. Another rocket fell near a sanatorium in Lviv oblast. The blast wave damaged the windows of the building. There were no victims in any of these cases.

From the oblast, defenders from the 3rd separate assault brigade, who are currently fighting near Bakhmut received drinking water, energy drinks, medicines, coffee, thermal insoles and helmets. The aid was sent thanks to the Lviv RMA and Support A30V.

In Lviv oblast, the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service and the Advisory and Coordination Center, supports war victims. Over 4K people received financial support in Stryi and Chervonohrad regions.

The Lviv City Council reported that Oleksandr Morskyi, a defender from Azovstal, was fitted with a myoelectric arm prosthesis at the Unbroken center. Oleksandr is 46 years old, he is a sea border guard. He lost his hand during the defense of Mariupol. The amputation operation was performed in the Azovstal shelter hospital.

Rivne oblast

IAEA reported that as a result of the russian attack, the Rivne NPP reduced electricity production as a precaution due to renewed shelling of the country’s energy infrastructure.

In Rivne, near the 1st fire and rescue unit, the city’s first ground fire hydrant was installed. New ground fire hydrants will allow firefighters to instantly draw water from the city’s external water supply networks for further supply to the place of fire.

Preparations for defensive actions are underway in Rivne oblast. Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval and Commander of North Serhii Naiev took part in instructional and methodical classes. The military, border guards, and security forces practiced combat coordination.

Ternopil oblast

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that yesterday morning, a critical infrastructure object in the Shepetiv region was hit. In the afternoon, air defense forces shot down a cruise missile in the Khmelnytskyi district. There is also a hit to an object of critical infrastructure of the Khmelnytskyi community. The fires have been extinguished, there are no casualties.

IAEA stated that as a result of the russian attack, one of the power units at the Khmelnytskyi NPP stopped.

The RMA reported that as a result of massive attacks, the oblast has one of the most difficult situations with energy supply.

9 trucks with humanitarian cargo from the Republic of Moldova arrived in Khmelnytskyi. This is one of the largest batches of aid that has been delivered to the oblast since the war began. Generators, medical supplies and essential items including blankets, tents, warm clothing and other essential items will soon be distributed among those in need.

In the RMA a round table meeting dedicated to issues of national and patriotic education of the youth in the conditions of a full-scale war was held. The event was held in accordance with the regional target program of national and patriotic education in Khmelnytskyi oblast for 2022-2025.

Chernivtsi oblast
