It has been the 309th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 18.00:   

The enemy focuses its efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Bakhmut and Zaporizhzhia and is trying to improve the tactical situation towards Lyman and Avdiivka. Towards Kupiansk and Novopavlivka, the enemy is defending. Towards Kherson, the invaders are regrouping into other areas, reinforced by units of territorial troops, and conducting positional defense. 

In the morning, the russian occupiers launched a massive missile strike on the territory of Ukraine. The enemy launched air-based and sea-based cruise missiles, anti-aircraft guided missiles to the S-300 air defense system at energy and civilian infrastructure facilities in eastern, central, western and southern regions of Ukraine. According to the updated data, 69 cruise missiles were used. The Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 54 of them. 

Also, during the day, the enemy launched 10 missile and 23 air strikes, as well as 14 MLRS strikes on the positions of our troops and settlements along the contact line.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the situation is stable. The enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, there are no signs of offensive groups being formed. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy shelled Lypivka and Hremiachka in Chernihiv oblast; Budky, Iskryskivshchyna and Zapsillia in Sumy oblast and Huriv, Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Strelecha, Zelene, Ohirtsevo, Hatyshche, Kolodiazne, Ridkodub, Novomlynsk and Dvorichna in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, 19 settlements were hit by fire, namely Kupiansk, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Klishchevka and Lozova of Kharkiv oblast and Novoiehorivka, Kovalivka, Ploshchanka, Makiivka, Nevske and Dibrova in the Luhansk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, more than 15 settlements were shelled, namely Andriivka, Spirne, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka and Stupochki of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Vesele, Nevelske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast were affected. 

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy shelled Vremivka, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Vuhledar in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy shelled the positions of our troops from tanks, mortars and barreled artillery in over 35 settlements.  Among them are Malinovka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka and Mali Shcherbaky of Zaporizhzhia oblast and Zmiivka, Antonovka, Zelenivka, Dniprovske, Veletenske in the Kherson oblast.

The enemy continues to use civilian healthcare facilities in the temporarily occupied territory to treat wounded russian servicemen and mercenaries of private military companies. Thus, in Bilovodsk, Starobilsk region, Luhansk oblast, more than 100 wounded fighters of the Wagner PMC continue to be treated. In addition, in the city of Tokmak, about 120 wounded occupiers are being treated in the so-called “military hospital”.

In the city of Donetsk, the invaders take away medical equipment and medical workers from the Donetsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after Kalinin to Mariupol. 

On December 28, as a result of fire damage by units of the Defense Forces of enemy positions near Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia oblast, more than 50 occupiers were killed.

Ukrainian aviation inflicted 12 strikes on buildups of invaders and a blow to the position of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile system. Our rocket launchers and artillerymen hit 4 control points and 3 buildups of the invaders’ manpower.

Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi says that russia has launched 69 missiles at Ukraine. Air defense managed to destroy 54 russian cruise missiles. This was the 10th massive missile terror attack of russia.

As a result of russia’s massive terrorist attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, a difficult situation has developed in Odesa and Kyiv oblasts. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reports that there are certain damages to generation facilities and power grids. Power engineers are trying to restore power supply.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders launched 13 Iranian Shahed-136 UAVs at the energy infrastructure of Kharkiv last night. 11 of them were shot down by Defense Forces units of Ukraine. russians shelled more than a dozen settlements.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the city and the oblast were under attack by enemy missiles. There were four hits on infrastructure facilities with probably S-300, in Nemyshlia and Osnova regions. As a result of the strikes, a 50-year-old man was killed, two more injured in moderate condition, one of the injured men died in an ambulance. The other one was hospitalised. One of the russian missiles hit a swamp near a private enterprise.

Head of the Kharkiv Military Garrison, Serhii Melnyk, said that simultaneously with the missile attacks on Kharkiv, russians started shelling Vovchansk border city with multiple rocket launchers.

Yesterday late in the evening Kharkiv suffered a massive attack by Shahed kamikaze drones. A total of 13 drones were launched at Kharkiv. 11 of them were shot down by our air defense forces. There were hits to critical infrastructure facilities of the city. There were no casualties. At the moment, the works on liquidation of consequences are ongoing. As a result of yesterday’s strikes on the infrastructure of Kharkiv, about a thousand houses were left without heating.

Yesterday morning the enemy launched a missile attack on the Sloboda district. Administrative and industrial buildings were damaged. A 48-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalised with an explosive injury, and is in moderate condition.

The invaders  shelled with artillery the settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions near the contact line and the border with russia. Specifically, Kupiansk and Vovchansk cities, Dvorichna, Kivsharivka and other settlements were under attack. Residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged. There were no casualties.

Mine clearance works continue. 57 explosive ordnance were defused. However, the mine danger remains very high. Yesterday Buhaivka village, Chuhuiv district, a 47-year-old father and his 7-year-old son stepped on an ordnance in the forest. Both were hospitalised with explosive injuries. The child is in critical condition. The father’s condition is average.

Donetsk oblast

russians launched four missile strikes on Kostiantynivka. According to preliminary information, there is one injured. Two missiles hit the boarding school where the IDPs accommodation centre is located – there is one casualty. At the time of the strike there were 42 people there. Two other missiles landed near the former cinema and in the yard of the hostel – windows in the buildings were damaged, but no one was injured.

The night in Donetsk oblast passed with numerous attacks, but for the first time in a very long time – without civilian casualties.

Towards Donetsk, Kurakhove suffered the most last night – 2 buildings, 2 outbuildings and a business premises were damaged. There were isolated attacks on Avdiivka and Marinka.

Towards Horlivka, there was a missile attack on a sanatorium in Soledar yesterday. This morning russians fired at a private building in Bakhmut and an enterprise in Kostiantynivka.

Towards Lysychansk, buildings on two streets in Siversk were damaged as a result of shelling, and Torske and Zarichne in the Lyman community were under attack again – the aftermath is being established.

Based on the information provided by Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Brigadier General, Oleksii Hromov, Ukrainian troops hold back up to 20 enemy attacks around Bakhmut every day.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday Defence Forces units repelled enemy attacks in Andriivka, Chervonopopivka, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka. Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy targeted Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka.

Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov said at a briefing that Defence Forces of Ukraine advanced 2.5 kilometers towards the occupied Kreminna over the past week. According to him, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has information that the occupation forces may be preparing defensive lines around Luhansk. Specifically, such information “circulates among the officers of the headquarters of the 2nd Army Corps of the russian federation”, who are staying in the occupied city.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, Defence Forces of Ukraine are located near Kreminna, russians are moving personnel and equipment there, there are a lot of ‘Wagner soldiers’. The situation in Bilohorivka remains unchanged. Our servicemen are holding the defense, the enemy is not successful.

The Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that half of the occupied Luhansk oblast has no mobile phone connection – only 4% of the residents of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” have access to 4G; those who returned to Sievierodonetsk find new doors and new residents in their apartments. The city is freezing and the occupation authorities give children 10 packages of ice cream for the New Year in winter, in a settlement where there is no heating.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Head of the Kyiv RMA Oleksii Kuleba said that a medical facility in the Fastiv region and more than 10 buildings in Bucha and Vyshhorod communities in Kyiv oblast were damaged due a missile attack. russia’s massive missile attack lasted almost five hours, but air defense forces repelled missile strikes aimed at critical infrastructure facilities.

The KCMA reported on 16 air targets in the airspace of Kyiv. All of them were destroyed by air defense forces. As a result of the russian attack, 3 private houses and a car were damaged. Fragments of downed rockets were found on the road, on the territory of one of the schools, and on the children’s playground.

A private house caught fire due to the impact of debris in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv – three people were injured, including a 14-year-old girl. All were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

The Minister of Energy reported the damage to generation facilities and power grids. According to him, emergency power outages continue. Currently the situation is difficult in the west of the country, Odesa and Kyiv oblasts.

Head of the Kyiv RMA Oleksii Kuleba, said that 180K monsumers are without electricity in Kyiv oblast. There are emergency power outages. Repair and recovery works are ongoing after the shelling.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni will visit Kyiv until the end of winter. As reported by La Stampa, she stated this during the annual press conference. Earlier, she confirmed her intention to visit Kyiv and invited President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit Rome.

The State Emergency Service reported that the rescuers of the Kyiv oblast conduct explanatory work with citizens regarding compliance with safety rules when detecting explosive objects every day. In Invincibility Centres, such work continues constantly, especially in those areas of Kyiv oblast that were under temporary occupation.

The Bucha City Council reported that Donor Day was held in the city for the second time in the last month. Thanks to Bucha residents, it was possible to collect 25 liters of blood for Ukrainian defenders and wounded civilians who are being transported to regional hospitals. 

Zhytomyr oblast

Head of the Zhytomyr RMA Vitalii Bunechko announced that during another russian terrorist attack, none of the Zhytomyr oblast`s infrastructure facilities were damaged, as air defense protected the sky above the oblast.

The Command of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that a strategic aviation cruise missile was aimed at critical infrastructure objects, but was timely detected and destroyed by the defenders of Ukraine.

The fragments of missiles were found in Malyn and Korosten territorial communities after the russian enemy shelling.

Children from Zhytomyr became the winners of the all-Ukrainian campaign “New Year’s Card to the Front” in support of soldiers. Children from all over the country drew mock-ups of greeting cards to the defenders of Ukraine. The winners, Kateryna Polishchuk and Ilya Sokolivskyi, were able to see their drawings printed on greeting cards.

Sumy oblast

Head of the Sumy RMA Dmytro Zhivytskyi announced on the Telegram channel that russian troops carried out 70 strikes on five border communities of the oblast. The enemy inflicted fire damage using UAVs, large-caliber weapons, mortars and barrel artillery. Krasnopillia, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Znob-Novhorodske and Seredino-Buda communities of Sumy oblast came under enemy fire. According to the State Border Service, one of the shells destroyed the house of local residents. There are no casualties.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that Sumy oblast (as well as the whole country) was under the threat of missile attacks. Air defense units eliminated a russian missile above Sumy oblast.

Residents of the village of Bilka received slate, OSB plates, plasterboard, insulation, building compounds, mounting foam, nails and other materials that are absolutely necessary for house repairs. Help was provided by representatives of People in Need, which has been working in the Trostyanets community for a long time.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Service of Ukraine reported that the enemy hit the border area of Chernihiv oblast. Semenivka and Snovsk communities came under fire.

The Nizhyn City Council reports that Nizhyn and the Finnish city of Imatra signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement was signed online by Mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, and Mayor of Imatra, Matias Hilden. The twin cities agreed on cooperation in economic, social and other fields. In addition, in the first decade of January 2023, a cargo with generators, power plants, and solid fuel heaters will be sent to Nizhyn from Imatra.

Sites of free rental of electric and gasoline tools from Germany will be created in the destroyed Bobrovytsia. They were collected by European friends at the request of Chernihiv residents. Drills, screwdrivers, chainsaws, etc. are not new, but tested and serviceable. Thanks to such support,local volunteers and residents of the Bobrovytsia microdistrict affected by bombings will be able to rebuild their houses more efficiently and quickly.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Head of RMA Valentyn Reznichenko reported that the russians attacked the oblast with kamikaze drones and heavy artillery at night. Air defense forces shot down five Shaheds. The Nikopol region, namely Nikopol and Marhanets communities, was attacked from heavy artillery three times by the russian occupying forces. A high-rise building, several private houses and several power lines were destroyed. 

Valentin Reznichenko, Head of the Regional State Administration, summed up the results of the year. In the oblast , 86% of large factories continue to operate despite missile attacks, difficulties in logistics and reduced volumes of production. Small businesses adapt to blackouts. Cafes, shops, workshops switch to generators. More than 7K new companies have opened since February. These are IT companies, grocery stores, restaurants, and online stores. 79 enterprises have moved from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv oblasts. 17 of them have already started work while others are preparing to resume production.

Vinnytsia oblast

Three wood chippers were purchased by Oblteploenerho in Vinnytsia. This need arose when power outages began. Vasyl Slobodian, Head of the company’s solid fuel procurement section says that chippers work both on electricity and on gasoline.

The production of sleeping bags and heated vests was started by Hryhorii Zhovmir from Vinnytsia. Part of the produce is handed over to the defenders on the front line.

Director Vitalii Vedenko says that the Vinnytsia Zoo in the Central Park of the city has started the campaign Supporting Animals. Visitors are asked to bring food for animals. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Deer of St. Nicholas Kharkiv’s Ukrainian Borders distributed half a thousand gifts for children. For seven years, the team celebrated New Year’s and Christmas holidays with children who lived in the front-line cities, towns and villages of Donetsk oblast. The headquarters was based in Kharkiv. Due to the full-scale war in February they moved to Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad Oblast. In this year’s letters, in addition to toys, children ask for victory, peace and a return home. Residents of different cities of Ukraine and abroad help to collect gifts.

Poltava oblast

25 units of new fire-rescue, engineering and modern equipment, as well as tools and special equipment, were handed over to the rescuers of the oblast. They were received from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and purchased at the expense of the regional budget. Rescuers and generators of various capacities will be used for Invincibility Centres,  as well as to ensure backup power supply and uninterrupted water and heat supply for the State Emergency Service.

Cherkasy oblast

Volodymyr Tsaruk, deputy chairman of the hotel industry committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry says that Cherkasy hotels were turned into shelters for displaced persons during the full-scale invasion. Currently, the hotel business suffers from a lack of personnel.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

At night, the occupiers shelled the Stepne community with S-300 missiles. As a result, a gas pipeline (with a gas leak) and a power supply line were damaged. Three houses were almost completely destroyed, several more were damaged.

On December 29, Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhia oblast experienced interruptions in electricity supply due to massive missile attacks on civil infrastructure objects by the occupying forces of the russian federation. This was reported by Zaporizhzhiaoblenerho.

Yesterday, on December 28, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in Stepne, Lezhyne, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Stepove, Plavni, Komyshuvakha, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Olhivske, Dorozhnianka, Novoandriivka, Bilohiria, Temyrivka, Chervone, Charivne, Shcherbaky, and Pavlivka. The police received 28 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

On December 27, the occupiers lost 3 units of military equipment, a command post, a communications center, and about 230 wounded servicemen near Tokmak, Tytove, Chernihivka, Polohy and Berdiansk settlements. Information about the liquidated personnel is being clarified. The General Staff reports that on December 28, the Defense Forces liquidated more than 50 occupiers in Berdiansk region.

A complex humanitarian situation has developed in the temporarily occupied Vasylivka. According to Mayor of Vasylivka Serhii Kaliman, the occupiers have not been letting in any humanitarian cargo from Zaporizhzhia for more than a month, including medicines for those that cannot do without them.

Mykolaiv oblast

During the massive missile attack on Ukraine on December 29, one of the russian missiles hit a warehouse of agricultural products in the village of Rybakivka, Mykolaiv region. According to preliminary information, there were no killed or injured. This is reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

An emergency power outage was applied at approximately 2:30 p.m. in Mykolaiv oblast. This was reported by the press service of Mykolayivblenerho. As of 9:30 p.m., the areas that have been cut off in an emergency manner remain without electricity.

Road workers restored the bridge crossing over the Liubynske reservoir in the Snigurivka community. The road was opened for cars on December 26. As of December 29, construction of a bypass road and a railroad crossing near the village of Kalynivka is ongoing in the community

The Danish Refugee Council/DRC will open an office in Mykolaiv. DRC representatives plan to recruit 20 employees to their team in the near future, and later expand it to 60 employees. One of the main activities of the office will be humanitarian demining of territories. The office will also repair damaged and destroyed buildings.

Mykolaiv oblast received 20 tons of tangerines and 20 Starlinks from volunteers. First of all, citrus fruits will be delivered to defenders at the front and distributed among medical institutions.

Odesa oblast

During the massive missile attack on Ukraine, the enemy launched missiles from Tu-22m3, Tu-95ms strategic bombers, surface and underwater missile carriers from the Black Sea to the southern regions. The enemy hit a critical infrastructure facility in Odesa oblast, and fragments of a downed enemy missile damaged a private neighborhood in one of the regions. People were not injured. Air defense forces shot down 21 cruise missiles in Odesa oblast, 2 in Kherson oblast, 1 in Mykolaiv oblast.

Farmers from three communities of Odesa oblast handed over two military thermal imagers, powerful lanterns and three cars for air defense units. This is reported by Odesa RMA.

Kherson oblast

On the morning of December 29, the russian army once again shelled Kherson. They hit the regional cardiac dispensary. The roof, windows and facade in one of the buildings were destroyed. Two people were injured – a security guard and an employee of the boiler house.

Yesterday, December 28, the russian occupiers shelled the territory of Kherson oblast 49 times. The enemy attacked Kherson 12 times. Enemy shells hit private and apartment buildings. As a result of enemy attacks, 1 person was killed, 9 residents of Kherson oblast injured. A 10-year-old child is among the wounded.

The police continue to identify and document war crimes committed by the russian military. Over the past day, the police opened 36 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army in Kherson oblast. During stabilization measures it became known that in September russian soldiers shot a woman with a machine gun in the village of Pravdyne, the Bilozerka community. The russian military looted the forestry in Kozatske during the occupation, seizing a UAZ car, two boats, a motor pump, a chainsaw, and a lawnmower.

The facts of looting by russian servicemen were recorded during the occupation of Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Olhyne and Arkhanhelske settlements. According to reports from local residents, the russian military en masse seized people’s cars and removed things from houses.   

As of today, 27 checkpoints are working in the de-occupied territories of Kherson oblast. Police officers check vehicles to ensure that weapons, explosives, drugs and other prohibited items do not enter the controlled territories, and they also check people for possible cooperation with the russian occupiers. Representatives of the Defense Forces detained 28 people in the checkpoint involved in the armed formations of the russian federation or engaged in collaborative activities.

A generator was delivered to the Beryslavsk Central Regional Hospital. The Embassy of Israel donated this equipment. The diesel generator has a capacity of 110 kW, which allows for uninterrupted operation of the medical facility.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The Volyn customs office reported that over 43K generators and almost 95K batteries have been brought to Ukraine through Volyn since November. All devices will be imported without payment of import duty and VAT.

The Zabrody village council (the Kovel region) reported that within the Together for Education initiative, the local lyceum received USD 3K from UNICEF.

Zakarpattia oblast

In 2022, the Uzhgorod City Council allocated about UAH 40 million to support defenders. These funds were used to purchase tools, spare parts, video recorders, clothes, etc. With the onset of cold weather, winter equipment for the military was purchased for UAH 8.6 million. In addition, in accordance with the Military Support Program, building materials, heaters, tires and oil for vehicles were purchased for UAH 200K.

In Uzhgorod, on the basis of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia oblast, a unique fire prevention education center Vohnyk was opened. This is a specialized interactive educational safety classroom for children from 3 to 12 years old, where they can gain knowledge about civil defense in an game form.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

During the massive rocket attack, one of the energy facilities of the oblast was hit, as a result of which a fire broke out on a total area of ​​50 square meters. The fire at the energy facility was extinguished. A total of 32 people and 8 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. An employee of an energy facility was hospitalized. The man has numerous shrapnel wounds.

In addition, during the morning shelling, the enemy struck a residential building on the territory of the Tlumatsk Territorial Community, in which a woman and a baby live. At the time of the hit, they were in the next room. The rocket did not explode and they remained alive. The local population was evacuated from 15 homes within a radius of 150 meters. All relevant services are on site.

The oblast received three generators with a capacity of 150 kW, 60 kW and 45 kW. They were provided by international partners, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine and the Rokada CF. One of these generators will be given to a geriatric boarding house, the second one will be used by the regional fire department, and the third one will provide power to a stationary heating station, which, if necessary, will be able to accommodate 300 to 500 people.

Lviv oblast

The enemy fired 6 rockets on the territory of Lviv oblast. Air defense forces shot down 4 enemy missiles. Two rockets hit the power station. As a result of rocket strikes, 282 settlements were completely without electricity, 76 of them partially.

Due to the missile attack, heat and water supply in Lviv were forced to stop, and electric transport was temporarily stopped. As of 10:00 a.m., 90% of Lviv was without electricity and with interruptions in water supply. Currently, utility services are resuming work.

As part of the project Increasing the Operational Capabilities of the State Fire-Rescue post in Dobromyl, the city’s fire department will be repaired and equipped. Within the Polish Aid program, Poland allocated over EUR 26K to develop the initiative

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, employment centers continue to provide the unemployed with paid community work by concluding fixed-term employment contracts. Over 700 people have already been involved in the Recovery Army of Ukraine.

In Rivne oblast, 75 pharmacies will operate in the absence of electricity supply. There, they can serve customers using bank terminals and dispense medication using electronic prescriptions.

Ternopil oblast

A modular town for IDPs was opened near Ternopil. The town was built on the initiative and close cooperation of Czech partners – the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Ukraine and the Czech government.

Fighters of the 105th separate territorial defense brigade from Ternopil oblast have released their own calendar.

The city authorities of Ternopil decided not to install the main Christmas tree and celebration facilities this year. Instead, a Christmas tree was set up on Theater Square, and a live Christmas tree was decorated on Liberty Square.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During the air alert, air defense forces shot down 2 cruise missiles (in the Horodotsk community of the Khmelnytskyi region and over the Novodunaievets community of the Kamianets – Podilskyi region). The search for wreckage is underway. As a result of the missile strike, there were no hits to the critical infrastructure of the oblast, and there were no injured or dead persons.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conduct counterintelligence (security) measures at seven objects of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the moscow patriarchate in Khmelnytskyi oblast. The measures are carried out jointly with the National Police within the framework of the Security Service of Ukraine’s systematic work to counter the subversive activities of russian special services in Ukraine.

The use of pyrotechnics was banned in Khmelnytskyi. The police should strengthen control and take measures to prevent the use of pyrotechnics.

From Khmelnytskyi, 3 bandero-mobiles (bandero-jeeps and bandero-pickups), 2 inverter generators and thermal clothes for the military were sent to various units.

Chernivtsi oblast

Mayor of Chernivtsi, Roman Klichuk reported that the city allocated UAH 74 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine this year. The funds were sent to military units.

 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhii Marchenko, announced that since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has received $31 billion in loans and grants from foreign partners and allies to support the budget.

Finland sent five trucks with materials for the energy sector and hospitals to Ukraine.

Over $2.6 million was collected for Ukrainian hospitals on the website of the global initiative to support Ukraine UNITED24. 516 generators have been purchased.

Germany announced the purchase of 480 electric generators for Ukraine, of which 196 have already arrived at their destination.

A floating LNG terminal has arrived in Finland to help compensate for gas from russia.

British Defense Minister Ben Volles stated that Britain will allocate 2.3 billion pounds to help Ukraine in 2023.

The United Kingdom will send Sea King helicopters used for search and rescue operations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 10 Ukrainian military crews have completed training on driving machines.

Latvia will send 10 buses to Ukraine, they are planned to be loaded with humanitarian aid.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania reported that the country froze over EUR 85 million of russian and belarusian assets.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Minister of the Armed Forces of France Sebastien Lecorniu. They discussed further steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities with the support of France.

Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov announced that the supply of French air defense systems to Ukraine will be continued.

The Parliament of Finland called for the transfer of Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine.

The US embassy responded to the new russian missile attack: “The kremlin continues its campaign of massive missile attacks, cruelly using the cold and darkness against Ukraine. We thank the Ukrainian air defense for the skill – Ukraine will win.”

“russian missiles have been launched into Ukraine. Civilians have been injured. russia rejects the peace plan proposed by President Zelenskyy. russia does not want peace with Ukraine – it wants to subjugate Ukraine,” British Ambassador Melinda Simmons said after the russian missile attack.

In the buildings of the government and sub-departmental institutions of Moldova, electricity was turned off at 6pm as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine.

Currently, there are 950K refugees from Ukraine in Poland, and in total there are about 2.3 million Ukrainian citizens in Poland. In total, those who arrived in Poland after February 24 make up 2.5% of the total population of Poland.

The City Hall of Warsaw refused New Year’s events and fireworks out of solidarity with Ukraine.
