It has been the 308th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops launched 2 air strikes and 2 missile strikes as well as over 10 MLRS attacks.

Russian army continues offensive operations in Bakhmut and Avdiivka areas and tries to improve the tactical position in Lyman areas. In other directions, the russian army is on the defensive.

The situation remains stable in Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda directions. No signs of forming offensive groups of russian soldiers have been detected. Towards Sloboda, areas of Veterynarne, Ohirtseve, Hatysche, Vovchansk, Starytsa, Dvorichna, Novomlynsk settlements, Kharkiv oblast were subject to artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, russian military shelled the areas of over 20 settlements. Among them are Synkivka, Vilshana, Kupiansk, Kyslivka and Krokhmalne, Kharkiv oblast; Stelmakhivka, Ploschanka, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova, Luhansk oblast, as well as Yampolivka, Donetsk oblast.

The areas of over 20 settlements towards Bakhmut were also shelled. These are Spirne, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Maiorsk and New York, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, russian military fired from tanks, mortars and barrel artillery at Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast.

Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka, Donetsk oblast were attacked.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, russian troops terrorized residents of over 25 settlements with artillery fire. Among them are Huliaipole, Malynivka, Charivne and Dorozhnianka, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Respublikanets, Kozatske and Lviv, Kherson oblast. The civilian infrastructure of Antonivka, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson itself were damaged by russian shelling. There are victims among civilians.

Russian soldiers are being eliminated in Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia oblast, destruction of one S300 anti-aircraft missile system, 8 units of military equipment of various types and types of ammunition was confirmed. Over 150 russian servicemen were injured. The toll of those eliminated is being specified.

In the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, russian servicemen and mercenaries are leaving their places of service en masse. Separate divisions of the russian guard were sent to the city of Prymorsk for search operations. According to preliminary information, over 200 people are wanted.

Ukrainian aviation launched 4 strikes on the areas of russian troops’ buildup. Units of missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 2 control points, 2 areas of buildup of manpower and russian ammunition warehouse.


According to the report by the UN Human Rights Office, since the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there have been 17,831 civilian casualties recorded. 

Unfortunately, the numbers are much higher, as the flow of information from some places where intense fighting continues is delayed, and many reports are to be confirmed. This applies to Mariupol, Izium, Lysychansk, Popasna and Sievierodonetsk.

The Luhansk Regional Military Administration says that the russian occupiers are forcing children to obtain russian citizenship. They continue to blackmail civilians by dismissal from work or deprivation of social benefits.

The press service of Ukrenerho reports that as a result of the russian shelling of gas infrastructure, some units of the power plant stopped. As a result, there is currently a shortage of electricity in the Ukrainian energy system, which leads to emergency outages. However, due to warm weather, for the fourth day in a row, consumption restrictions are not applied at night.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, towards Sloboda, the situation remains stable. The invaders are shelling with artillery and mortars. At least 12 settlements were targeted.

Director of the Ukrainian National Center for Peacebuilding, Oleksandr Smyrnov, said that there are at least 138 children in russia who were illegally taken from Kharkiv oblast during the occupation. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the exact number of deported children from Kharkiv oblast has not been established.

Kharkiv Deputy Mayor, Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, reported that there are 5595 single people registered.  In Kharkiv, since the beginning of the invasion the number of those who need help of social workers has increased by one third. There are 9 territorial centers in the city that help lonely people. The load on social protection workers has almost doubled. 1600 people out of 5595 are people with limited mobility, do not leave their homes, 114 of them are bedridden, 64 people use wheelchairs.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informed that the invaders hit Sloboda region with missiles. As a result of morning attacks on Kharkiv, a 48-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds. He is hospitalized in moderate condition.

The enemy is shelling settlements in Kupiansk district. An enemy shell hit a residential apartment building in Kivsharivka village. The apartment was heavily damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked with artillery, tanks, mortars and other weapons at the border areas and settlements near the contact line. Kupiansk region suffered the most.

Private buildings in Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi were damaged by shelling. The settlements of Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts were also under enemy attack.

According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care, a 57-year-old woman received an explosive injury in Kupiansk as a result of shelling. She was hospitalised in a critical condition. In addition, a 23-year-old man stepped on an explosive ordnance in Izium district. He was hospitalized in moderate condition.

A 47-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy ran over an explosive ordnance in the forest near Buhaivka village, Chuhuiv district. Both received explosive injuries and were hospitalised. Now doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance.

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service continue de-mining works. Yesterday 103 more explosive ordnance were defused.

Donetsk oblast

Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Cherevatyi, said that russians have evacuated the military command from Kreminna. However, it is too early to talk about liberation of the city, when Ukrainian troops achieve some success, it will be officially reported. 

Russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka in the morning of December 28. There were no casualties. A warehouse was destroyed as a result of shelling.

The night in Donetsk oblast was relatively calm, however there were isolated hits in different parts of the frontline.

Towards Donetsk, Maryinka was attacked. Avdiivka suffered a massive artillery shelling of the old part of the city the night before. There were isolated hits throughout the city at night and in the morning – without casualties.

Towards Horlivka, 3 people were injured in Bakhmut. An apartment building caught on fire as a result of shelling.

Towards Lysychansk, a building in Siversk was damaged. There were also attacks on Torske of Lyman community. There were no casualties.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, reported that the number of people leaving is increasing. According to him, the queue of cars to cross the border between Ukraine and russia in Novoazovsk region reaches 32 km. People wait up to 24 hours.

The Donetsk branch of Ukrposhta has purchased five Starlink satellite communication sets and one year of system maintenance. The announcement and results are published in the Prozzoro bidding system.

Referring to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, yesterday russians injured 3 civilians in Bakhmut. 

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, our soldiers repelled enemy attacks in Chervonopopivka and Ploschanka. Towards Kupiansk, the invaders shelled Kolomyichykha, Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka. Towards Lyman, Dibrova and Ploshchanka were attacked.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that after liberation of Kreminna there are two options: to move to Starobilsk – the main logistics center of the region, or to help Bakhmut and go to Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk to “split” the rashist group in this direction. 

Based on the information provided by the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, forced passportization of residents continues. From now on, children under 14 will also be able to become citizens of russia. According to the new procedure, one of the parents with a russian passport can apply for recognition of a child living in the occupied territory and under the age of 14 as a citizen of russia. As noted in the military administration, it is possible not to receive a russian passport, but the person will face the denial of social benefits or decline employment.

According to the Luhansk RMA, the invaders have also increased the number of patrols to search for deserters.

Head of the Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration, Oleksandr Striuk, said that up to eight thousand people have been living in the occupied city since June. There are about 500 school-age children in the city.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Minister of Defense of France Sébastien Lecornu arrived to Kyiv. This is his first visit to Ukraine since taking office in May. The video about his arrival was published by the French TV channel BFMTV. Lecornu plans to meet with the head of the Ministry of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov. He started his visit by laying a wreath at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv.

Andriy Nebytov, the head of the Kyiv regional police, reported that special acoustic sensors will be installed in Kyiv oblast to be able to detect russian drones or missiles even in places where there are no people. According to him, law enforcement officers studied the events in the Chernobyl zone and came to the conclusion that it was the system “Safe Kyiv oblast” that allowed the military and defense forces to monitor the movement of russian equipment and other information. 

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, EOD training is being conducted in Vyshhorod. Soldiers will practice recovery and disposal of explosive objects. Therefore, in some communities, the sound of explosions can be heard.

According to Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko, Kyiv receives stable power supply, but with restrictions. These supplies are evenly distributed through temporary network reconnection schemes.

412 Invincibility Centers were opened in Kyiv oblast. According to Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, 288 centers were opened by local authorities, 58 – by business representatives, and 66 – by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Some of the locations need to be re-equipped.

The kindergarten “Kashtan”, which was almost completely destroyed by the occupiers in March this year, was restored in Byshiv. The roof, ceiling, and interior walls were repaired, windows were repaired, a drainage system was built and a new solid fuel boiler was installed. A comfortable shelter was arranged nearby.

The Department of Public Communications of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration has prepared a single brochure, which contains all renamed facilities of the street network during 2014-2022. Since 2014, 436 streets, lanes, avenues, boulevards and squares have been renamed. Almost half of them were renamed in 2022, after the full-scale invasion began as part of the de-russification process under a separate procedure.

Riga will hand over ten more Mercedes-Benz buses to Kyiv. Buses are planned to be filled with humanitarian aid for Kyiv residents. They will go to Ukraine in mid-January.

800 children from Kyiv oblast attended the “Iron St. Nicholas” holiday on December 19-25. These are orphans, children deprived of parental care, children of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ATO/JFO veterans, as well children from families of internally displaced persons who now live in Kyiv oblast. The events were held at the Kyiv Children’s Railway.

Zhytomyr oblast

Art therapy classes for families of servicemen were held in Zhytomyr. During the full-scale war, such an event was organized for the first time. It was held in the Veteran’s House, whose volunteers have completely switched to helping the front and IDPs. The next lesson will be held in a hospital for wounded soldiers.

The shooting of a new documentary film about the 26th artillery brigade, deployed in Zhytomyr oblast, has started. According to the film director, officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, the documentary will show participation of the brigade’s soldiers in the war after the full-scale invasion of the russian army.

Zhytomyr volunteers prepared a ton of “Olivier” salad in four days and sent it to the front line for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than fifty Zhytomyr residents joined the food collection process and cooking. Kitchen for cooking Olivier salad was arranged in the dormitory for deaf people.

Sumy oblast

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi reported in his Telegram channel that ten thousand sets of essentials were received by defenders from Sumy oblast. Hygiene products, tourniquets, first aid kits, medications and other goods were delivered to the soldiers serving in Bakhmut, Toretsk, New York village, and Kherson oblast. Reconnaissance unit has received a vehicle. He added that this was made possible thanks to the Innovator Help Foundation, Coca-Cola, Energoatom, Faith with Ukraine, and Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

After the hostilities, the paramedic station of the Trostianets primary health care center in Stanova village, was restored after almost complete destruction.  The city council and Charitable Foundation “Dobrota” together with international partners – the organization Open door Ukraine and Stichting Bisschoppelijke Vastenactie (Bishop’s Post Foundation) from the Netherlands contributed to the restoration.

Chernihiv oblast

In the conditions of a full-scale war, the Chernihiv Regional Center for Recruitment and Social Support became one of the few territorial centers of recruitment and social support of Ukraine, whose personnel took a direct part in the fight against the offensive actions conducted by enemy occupation troops and the defense of the city. The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Chaus reported in his Telegram channel that today this center was among the first to receive the banner of honor. It was presented by the Commander of the “North” Operational Command, Hero of Ukraine Major General Viktor Nikoliuk.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities were fired from heavy artillery and MRLS Hrad for half of the night.  

An 8-year-old girl was injured in Marhanets. She was hospitalized at night and returned home in the afternoon. Enemy fire gutted 12 residential buildings, farm buildings, a car, gas furnaces, and power lines in the city. One car was destroyed. A residential building was destroyed there. Another three dozen houses and farm buildings were damaged in Chervonohryhorivka TC. Cars and power lines were also affected.

According to the Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, overnight russians attacked the Nikopol region 8 times. They were firing from heavy artillery and MRLS Hrad at Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities for half of the night.  

Chervonohryhorivka suffered the most: about ten private houses and farm buildings, a shop building, cars, gas furnaces and power lines, and two dozen solar panels were damaged by shelling there.

Pokrovsk community in the Nikopol region of the Dnipropetrovsk oblast was included in the list of territorial communities located in the area of ​​hostilities. From now on, there are eleven communities in the oblast.

In Dnipro, about 50 wives, mothers, sisters and brothers of captured fighters of the Azov regiment held a peaceful protest. They made an installation of a New Year’s table, dividing it into two parts. On one side – homemade dishes and candles, on the other – an iron plate and a cup. They wanted to showcase the difference between a peaceful celebration and captivity.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that a portable bathhouse  will be sent from Vinnytsia for Teroboroniv residents. It works on firewood and is designed for six shower cabins. Additionally, a 5.6 kW generator is transferred.

Vinnytsia City Council informed that Balaklia received another humanitarian shipment from Vinnytsia. The aid – bus, generator and drinking water – was transferred within the framework of the work of the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters. A generator with a capacity of 200 kW will ensure operation of one of the critical infrastructure facilities. In addition, more than a ton of drinking water was transferred for the city’s Invincibility Centers.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to  volunteer Iryna Kabanova, the flag of Ukraine, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed over to the Congress during his visit to the United States of America, was sewn in the city of Oleksandria, Kirovohrad oblast. The fabric for the flag was bought using the funds of a local resident Vira Vovk, who lost her grandson in the war.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava oblast, another 20 residential modules were handed over by  the regional council to defenders from the 116th brigade of the Military Police. Each has four sets of bunk beds, a metal wardrobe and a closet with a shoe dryer. These modules, both ground and underground, can be connected to electricity or a generator. They are improved according to the wishes of the military.

Cherkasy oblast

The public hub has become a shelter for internally displaced persons. Since the full-scale invasion began, the free space for children, teenagers and young people in Chyрyrin has been converted into a center for helping people fleeing the war. Now they provide household services there. The clubs have not stopped their work and visitors play chess, football, draw and participate in creative master classes.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not significantly changed over the past day. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied borders.

Yesterday, December 27, the occupiers shelled Stepove, Stepnohirsk, Dorozhnianka, Charivne, Novoandriivka, Novodanilivka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Huliaipole, Mali Shcherbaky, Plavni. The police received 18 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

As of December 28, about 2,500 people remain in Huliaipole, which is regularly shelled by russian troops. This was reported by the National Police of Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to policemen, the occupiers attack Huliaipole with more than 200 projectiles every day.

On December 28, the russian military blew up a pedestrian bridge in the temporarily occupied Polohy city. This was announced by the mayor of the city Iurii Konovalenko. According to him, the occupiers planted explosives and blew up the pedestrian bridge over the railroad track.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, December 27, the enemy shelled the water area of the Ochakiv community with artillery. This was reported by Mykolayiv RMA. The day and night passed relatively calm in Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka rregions.

On December 28, a 52-year-old local resident was injured by the detonation of a cluster projectile in the Ingul district, Mykolaiv. The ammunition was in a private yard. The woman suffered leg injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Volunteers delivered humanitarian cargo to the village of Novotymofiivka, Bashtanka region, which had been under occupation for almost ten months. Almost 300 food packages, bread and children’s gifts were distributed in half an hour. A part was given to the military, who will take humanitarian aid to their comrades on the frontline. Logistics was handled by representatives of the 126th ground defense brigade, the “Chymera” division.

As of December 28, the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv has identified and handed over to the state the property of the russian federation, the Republic of Belarus and their citizens in the amount of over UAH 4.3 billion. According to the SBI, there are real estate, ships, cars, clothes, accessories and equipment, products, etc among the russian objects confiscated since February 24.

Odesa oblast

On December 28, the main Christmas tree in Odesa is being installed on Deribasivska Street. According to Vice-Mayor Oleh Bryndak, it will be a Christmas tree in Ukrainian colors, which will become a real symbol of Odesa and Ukraine invincibility. The height of the main Christmas tree will be 20 meters, width – 9.

The Red Cross Society handed over electric heaters as humanitarian aid to Odesa. Electrical devices will be provided to families with many children, persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons who have left regions where hostilities are taking place.

The Odesa Opera House received a powerful diesel generator from the Ukrainian-German Society of Economics and Science at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city of Mainz, Germany. A generator with a capacity of 154 kW, a weight of 2 tons and a tank capacity of 400 liters designed for a variety of load modes and focused on differentiated fuel consumption. The theater will be able to work and hold performances even in the event of a total blackout. Heating and lighting of the dressing and service rooms will also be provided.

Kherson oblast

3 people were injured due to enemy shelling of Kizomys village. A 14-year-old child with a mine-explosive injury is among wounded.

Yesterday, December 27, the russian occupiers shelled the territory of Kherson oblast 50 times. The enemy attacked the city of Kherson 23 times. Enemy shells hit a medical institution, a kindergarten, a bakery, warehouses, private and apartment buildings. Three people received injuries.

Over the past day, the police opened 41 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian occupiers in Kherson oblast. The police are investigating the circumstances of the local resident’s death in the village of Lviv, Beryslav district, who was abducted by the russian military during the occupation. Residents of Kherson continue to report to the police about the crimes committed by the russian military during the occupation. Among them are abduction of people, motor vehicles, inflicting physical injuries on city residents, conducting illegal searches and confiscation of hunting weapons from the population, looting of offices and taking possession of property, looting of gas stations and theft of fuel, looting of railway depots and theft of goods and material values in large quantities.

The General Staff reported that on December 26 the occupiers lost about 50 servicemen killed  as a result of fire damage to enemy positions near Chaplynka, Kherson oblast.

Juvenile police officers congratulated the children of Kherson and Muzikyvka on the upcoming New Year holidays. Policemen handed over food kits to families with many children and those who are in difficult life circumstances, and fruits, sweets and New Year’s souvenirs – to children. The gifts and food kits were provided by international organizations.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko announced the purchase of resuscitation vehicles for emergency medical aid centers of the oblast within the Saving Lives charity initiative.

A curfew and other prohibitions will be in effect in the Boratyn community on New Year’s Eve. Residents must follow the rules and not use pyrotechnics.

It was forbidden to celebrate corporate events in the Lutsk community. During the curfew from 24:00 to 05:00 in the morning, catering establishments, shopping and entertainment centers, hotel and restaurant complexes of the Lutsk Territorial Community will observe a ban on celebrating New Year’s office parties.

Zakarpattia oblast

Oblenerho will hold unscheduled inspections in 8 oblasts due to non-compliance with power switch-off schedules. Zakarpattiaoblenerho is subject to inspection.

German benefactor Ulrikh Bemann presented Zakarpattia rescuers with two emergency rescue vehicles. Thanks to the efforts of the writer and Chairman of the Interhelp CF, an Audi car was delivered in September, and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has recently arrived.

The RMA reported that social institutions of Zakarpattia received 18 generators of different capacities.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Clothes, blankets, thermal underwear, socks, personal hygiene items, flashlights, and sweets were sent from Ivano-Frankivsk for soldiers from the 78th Territorial Defense Battalion.

Lviv oblast

In 8 oblasts, unscheduled inspections will be held by Oblenerho due to non-compliance with power outage schedules. Lvivoblenerho is subject to inspection.

The RMA reported that producers of berries, vegetables and aquaculture products in Lviv oblast will be able to receive up to $25K in grant support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

The communities of the Zolochiv region received humanitarian aid, namely, solid-fuel convector stoves, warm blankets, antiseptics, thermopots for brewing tea or coffee and heating fans to arrange Invincibility Centers from the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.

Foresters of Poland sent SUVs and quadcopters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the 1K Cars of Freedom initiative. In total, 22 SUVs were sent to the military this time. Ukrainian soldiers also received 20 quadcopters for military missions. 

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees sent two generators with a capacity of 165 kW and one device with a capacity of 300 kW to communal institutions of the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

In 8 oblasts, unscheduled inspections will be held by Oblenerho due to non-compliance with power outage schedules. Ternopiloblenerho is subject to inspection.

On the night from December 31 to January 1, policemen, National Guard fighters, rescuers and military personnel will be defending public order in Ternopil oblast. 21 investigative and operational groups, 26 fire-rescue groups, three groups of explosive and pyrotechnics (over 500 people in total) will be formed for prompt responses to emergencies. 

Ternopil schools are setting up accommodation in case of a total blackout. Such points will work in case of a critical situation with power supply.

IDPs will continue to automatically receive housing assistance from January 1, 2023, without additional appeals to social security authorities. Previously, to continue social benefits from January 1, 2023, it was necessary to resubmit documents.

215 entrepreneurs of Ternopil oblast received compensation for employing IDPs. UAH 4.4 million have already been paid to the employers of the oblast for employing 376 IDPs.

Roman Hakh, a border guard from Ternopil oblast, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Golden Star order. Roman fell on March 6, 2022 while performing combat missions in Luhansk oblast.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In 8 oblasts, Oblenerho will hold unscheduled inspections due to non-compliance with power switch-off schedules. Khmelnytskoblenerho is subject to inspection.

The city council reported that 2 generators with a capacity of 200 kW and 70 kW were sent from Khmelnytskyi for relevant military units.

Chernivtsi oblast

7 cars, a thermal imager, a quadcopter, trench candles, clothes, food and medicines were sent from Chernivtsi to the front.

In Germany, it was estimated that this year they have supplied weapons to Ukraine worth EUR 2.24 billion, about a quarter of the total volume of arms exports from the country.

The US sent two additional batteries of NASAMS air defense systems (from 18 to 24 launchers) and missiles for them.

Sweden will allocate additional EUR 17.9 million to support Ukraine. These funds will be transferred to an international fund under the leadership of Great Britain to strengthen the military potential of Ukraine. In total, since February 2022, Sweden has provided Ukraine with EUR 906 million in support.

Prime Minister Meloni announced that Italy is considering the provision of air defense systems to Ukraine.

Finland may be the first in Europe to start supplying Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. MPs Anders Adlerkroits and Atte Kharianne made such a proposal. They noted that the transfer of even a small number of these tanks will start a discourse on the need for the supply of Western tanks by other European countries.

French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorniu arrived in Kyiv. This is his first visit to Ukraine since taking office in May. Lekorniu plans to meet with Oleksii Reznikov.

Lithuania awarded this year’s Freedom Prize to Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The decision was unanimously supported by all 113 Lithuanian legislators.
