It has been the 302 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian occupiers launched 5 missile and 5 air strikes, as well as about 15 MLRS attacks, including a night attack on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The enemy shelled Chasiv Yar, Donetsk oblast. There are victims among the civilian population.

Ukraine is still under the threat of air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure facilities.

The enemy continues to focus the efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka. The invaders are trying to improve the tactical position towards Kupiansk and Lyman.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the situation has not changed significantly. No signs of forming offensive groups of the enemy have been detected.

Towards Sloboda, areas of Shevchenka, Stielecha, Neskuchne, Ternova, Starytsa, Vovchansk, Volokhivka, Stroivka and Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast were hit with tank, mortar and artillery shelling.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy shelled the areas of Novomlynsk, Krokhmalne, and Berestove, Kharkiv oblast, and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivk, Luhansk oblast.

Towards Lyman, Makiivka, Ploschanka, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova, Luhansk oblast were struck.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy shelled Verkhniokamianske, Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, and New York, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the areas of Kostyantynivka, Vodyane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast were struck.

Towards Novopavlivsk, the enemy shelled the areas of Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Vuhledar, and Mykilsky, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy continues mortar and artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro River. More than 25 settlements were damaged. Among them are Novopil, Donetsk oblast; Stepove, Huliaipole, Scherbaky, Mala Tokmachka and Dorozhnianka, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Manhanets, Dnipropetrovsk oblast and Novodmytrivka, Kachkarivka, Kherson, Inzhenerne and Lvove, Kherson oblast. The enemy also launched a rocket attack on the town of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv oblast.

On December 20, the Defense Forces of Ukraine affected a buildup of enemy personnel in Mykolaivka area of Skadovsk region, Kherson oblast. As a result, up to 140 russian servicemen were injured and 8 Kamaz trucks with ammunition were destroyed.

According to detailed information, the occupiers lost up to 150 people killed and about 50 wounded as a result of the attack on the enemy’s field airfield in the Kakhovka region, Kherson oblast on December 20. Up to 20 units of military equipment of various types were destroyed.

Units of missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit the control post, 2 ammunition warehouses and 3 areas of concentration of the enemy’s manpower during the day.

According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Shmyhal, finding the solution in case of blackout might take from 7 to 10 days. These are only theoretical estimates since the world has never experienced it before. He also added that the government is getting ready to possible scenarios. The decision has been approved. All legalities on creating and functioning of the centers have been regulated, notably financing, duty officers, providing fuel, etc.   

The President of Ukraine advised that he is returning from the US with good news. Except for the Patriot air defense systems provision, they reached other agreements that will help Ukraine.            

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops are trying to improve the tactical situation towards Kupiansk, at least 12 settlements were under russian attack.

Kharkiv Regional police reported that the bodies of a mother and son who were killed during shelling on March 15 were exhumed in Ruska Lozova.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the enemy shelled Kupiansk and Vovchansk again. There were casualties.

In Vovchansk, 5 people were injured as a result of shelling. 4 of them (3 men and 1 woman) are employees of the Central District Hospital. They were diagnosed with explosive and shrapnel injuries. A 62-year-old man was also injured. All victims are being provided with all necessary assistance.

A residential building was damaged in Kupiansk as a result of a rocket attack. Preliminary there are casualties. The information is being clarified.

In the evening, an enemy attacked Kharkiv. Preliminary, it was a rocket attack. There was an explosion on the outskirts of the city. As of now, there are no casualties.

Settlements of Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk near the border and the contact line suffered from enemy shelling.

However, there were casualties who stepped on mines and unexploded ammunition left by the enemy. Yesterday in Novyi Burluk village of Chuhuiv district, a 45-year-old tractor driver exploded on an unknown explosive ordnance and received shrapnel wounds. Doctors assess his condition as moderate.

In Izium, a 39-year-old man, who was trying to defuse a munition at his home, was injured by an explosion.

The train of St. Nicholas arrived in Izium on December 22. Over 150 children met him. St. Nicholas and his assistants showed a performance and gave gifts. Izium Deputy Mayor, Volodymyr Matsokin, noted that they expected about 50 children, but more kids arrived. On the way to Izium, the train of St. Nicholas made stops in Balakliia city and Zanky village.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on December 17, Ukrainian troops eliminated 13 russian servicemen and several units of russian equipment near the occupied Horlivka.

The Associated Press agency writes in a new investigation dedicated to the Ukrainian city that at least 10,300 new graves were found in the occupied Mariupol after the full-scale russian invasion.

Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Cherevatii, informed during a TV marathon that groups of russian troops that managed to approach the outskirts of Bakhmut were destroyed.

The enemy shelled Chasiv Yar, Kramatorsk and Kurakhove. Only civilians and civilian infrastructure suffered everywhere.

In Chasiv Yar, 1 person was killed, 2 injured and buildings damaged. About 15 shells hit the city. In Kramatorsk, russians hit the territory of an enterprise and one of the schools. There were no casualties. The aftermath of the shelling of Kurakhove is still being established.

Yesterday, russians launched a missile attack on Pokrovsk, hitting the territory of the enterprise. Fortunately, there were no casualties or destruction.

Towards Volnovakha, artillery shelling of Vuhledar continues. 3 buildings were damaged. No one was injured.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured and 1 building damaged in Bakhmut. It was loud in Chasiv Yar community and power lines were damaged. A school was damaged in Kostiantynivka as a result of shelling.

The shelling destroyed and damaged 17 residential buildings, a school, a factory, a shop, an outbuilding and cars.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians injured 3 civilians: 2 in Bakhmut and 2 in Toretsk and 1 in Bakhmut.

There is no heating in liberated Yampil and there will be no heating this winter as all communications are broken by russian shells. Volunteers of Amulet of Ukraine charitable foundation from Dnipro brought 15 potbelly stoves to help people heat their buildings and basements.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff, the invaders are shelling the settlements of Luhansk oblast from which they were kicked by Ukrainian troops. Yesterday, due to the shelling, two injured residents of Makiivka and Nevske were hospitalised. A woman from Nevske is receiving medical aid in Kramatorsk and a man from Makiivka, in Sloviansk. Apart from these settlements, yesterday russians shelled Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka towards Kupiansk. Chervonopopivka, Dibrova and Ploschanka towards Lyman were attacked. Our troops repelled enemy attacks in Chervonopopivka, Novoselivske, Ploschanka and Stelmakhivka.

Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Serhii Cherevatyi, reported that yesterday towards Luhansk, our defenders eliminated 93 invaders and injured 113 more. Russian invaders tried to storm the front line 6 times but failed. All attacks were repelled by our warriors. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also managed to destroy 1 T-80 tank, 1 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle and an armored “Tyhr”. In addition, Ukrainian artillery destroyed one enemy howitzer, a mortar and a field ammunition depot.

The Victorious New Year stamp was defaced on a chair near the destroyed Ukrposhta building in the frontline Nevske. The postal release includes a stamp sheet, Victorious New Year artistic envelope and Merry Christmas postcard.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that due to the hostilities, most settlements of the region have been completely destroyed. According to him, more than 1700 people are missing. 415 officially identified dead. Ukrainian children are being taken to russia. All these are the consequences of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. 90% of Luhansk oblast is under occupation.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The situation with power supply in Kyiv remains difficult. The main issue is not in power generation, but its distribution to consumers. Due to destroyed networks and units, most Kyiv residents cannot get electricity delivered to their homes. Therefore, only emergency power outages are still in effect, the duration of which cannot be regulated.

December 22 is the Day of Power Engineers in Ukraine. On this day, the sister city of Odense from Denmark symbolically handed over generators to the capital. Acting Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine Caroline Lichtenberg took part in the ceremony of handing over nine powerful generators. They were purchased by citizens and businessmen from Odense. The generators were delivered and handed over by the Rotary Club of Ukraine. These generators will be used to cover the energy needs of the city of Kyiv.

General Romuald Andrzejczak, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, came to Irpin as part of his official visit to Ukraine. He was introduced to the history of the heroic defense of Irpin, and saw the residential neighborhoods destroyed by the russian army. The Polish general noted that he was personally invited to visit the city of Irpin by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. To acknowledge the courage of Irpin citizens in defending the city from russian occupiers, the General handed over a symbolic gift, an official insignia of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Poland.

The municipally owned corporation “Irpinvodokanal” will install five powerful generators at its facilities in Hostomel. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration sent the generators.

In Kyiv, a schoolboy is studying online in one of the shops where a generator is installed. Children have the right to receive education in suitable conditions – having proper heating and light, and without fear of air raids. The photo was shared by UNICEFUkraine on its Facebook page.

A series of documentary films “Kyiv Outpost” was created in Kyiv oblast. These films show the cases of russian terror and war crimes during the oblast occupation, as well as praise the heroic deeds of doctors, social workers, rescuers, Chornobyl NPP workers, and ordinary citizens. They tell impressive stories of people who, despite all the atrocities committed by russians, tried to do their part in fighting against the enemy. The authors documented testimonies given by victims, witnesses and experts, as well as highlighted the scale of losses and destruction in Kyiv oblast.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr joined the all-Ukrainian campaign “The Warmest Donor Day”, during which donors collected 30 liters of blood for young patients of the oncohematology department of the Zhytomyr Regional Children’s Hospital. 

Teachers of Ivan Franko University prepare special pastries for soldiers on the front line. At least twice a week, and much more often during the holidays, teachers of the Ivan Franko State University of Zhytomyr get together and prepare their special pies for the military. Defenders tasted their homemade products during liberation of settlements in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson oblasts. Units performing tasks on the border territory of Zhytomyr oblast receive the pastries.

Over 1000 letters from children with wishes have already arrived at the mailbox in the Residence of St. Nicholas in Zhytomyr. This year’s letters are different because children do not ask for gifts but for victory and peace.

Sumy oblast

After midnight, the enemy used a quadcopter to drop an explosive object in the border area of the Krasnopillia community. The rest of the night was quiet.

Police EOD specialists seized a 122 mm projectile from the yard of a civilian house in Ryzhivka village, Sumy region. The projectile was launched by russians from a self-propelled artillery unit.

Chernihiv oblast

In the morning of December 22, the enemy troops have once again shelled border areas of Chernihiv oblast with mortars. The attack happened near Bleshnia village.

Chernihivoblenerho received 44 transformers as part of the humanitarian aid provided by the Republic of Lithuania. During the hostilities in Chernihiv oblast, more than a thousand objects of energy infrastructure were damaged. Power transformers from the Republic of Lithuania will be used to restore power distribution networks.

On December 21, a local outpatient clinic of general family medicine was officially opened in Kiinka. This outpatient clinic was built in 2021. During active hostilities, the building was significantly damaged by the russian occupiers. For several months, patients were treated in a modular outpatient clinic. With the support of the humanitarian organization International Medical Corps, the facility has been restored. The premises, roof, walls were repaired, and interior finishing works were carried out. Overall, the repair costs amounted to over UAH 3.6 million.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to the Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, overnight russians attacked  Nikopol region twice. They fired over 50  shells from heavy artillery and MRLS Hrad and Urahan at Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities.  

An 8-year-old girl was injured in Marhanets. She was hospitalized at night and returned home in the afternoon. Enemy fire gutted 12 residential buildings, farm buildings, a car, gas furnaces, and power lines in the city. One car was destroyed. A residential building was destroyed there. Another three dozen houses and farm buildings were damaged in Chervonohryhorivka TC. Cars and power lines were also affected.

A seven-year-old girl wounded by an airstrike on a high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih on December 16 has regained consciousness. The condition of the child remains grave. She is in intensive care.

Relying on the information provided by Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko, the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia handed over 370 generators to the region. The first batch of 264 arrived today. The communities will install generators in invincibility centers, hospitals, and social institutions.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informed that another batch of aid was sent to Vinnytsia military units. The cargo, collected as part of the initiative of the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters, contains 50 small pots, a copter, four tablets, five thousand staples, a chance tool, and trench candles.

Kirovohrad oblast

The Pryiutiv community sent humanitarian aid to the military for servicemen in Donetsk oblast. It contains chainsaws, food, basic necessities, ammunition, hygiene products, etc.

The deputy head of the regional military administration, Kateryna Koltunova, reported that the invincibility center in Kirovohrad oblast will work around the clock, and their schedule will not change on holidays.

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, 4,000 school backpacks with stationery for learning for internally displaced children and those in difficult life circumstances were received from UNICEF. Each bag contains a complete set of stationery and necessary school supplies: notebooks, a diary, paints, a bottle for clean drinking water, plasticine, pens, felt-tip pens, scissors, glue, and pencils.

Cherkasy oblast

According to the Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets, Cherkasy oblast has sent material and technical support to the military to the front line such as equipment and things considered the first necessity in the conditions of hostilities. The generators, chainsaws, gas cylinders, cables, and “medicine”: hemostatic drugs and tourniquets come from the “ZoloHelp” fund, United Help Ukraine, and more than a dozen Cherkasy enterprises that rallied for this purpose.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation in the Zaporizhzhya sector did not change significantly. The enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied borders. According to the National Police in Zaporizhzhia oblast, occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the vicinity of 18 settlements over the last day. There were 49 reports of destruction of civilian houses and infrastructure as a result of shelling by the russian military. In the city of Huliaipole, russian aviation cynically hit the city hospital. In addition, the enemy made over 20 attacks from multiple rocket launchers. 

As of today, 25,425 consumers in 69 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast are without electricity supply due to damage to power lines, poles and equipment by russians. This was reported by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. 

President of NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin stated that the russians once again failed to connect Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to their domestic power grid. Meanwhile, the IAEA Director General is in talks with the russian side on creating a protective zone around the plant. “It is technically very difficult to reconnect Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to the russian system. Moreover, ZNPP is a giant of our energy sector, it is the most powerful plant not only in Ukraine, but throughout Europe, and it requires very large power lines to the grid. Some lines were damaged, but all these lines went to the power grid of Ukraine,” Kotin said. In addition to the technical complexity of the implementation of such a plan of the occupiers, Petro Kotin also noted the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction. Also, according to Petro Kotin, IAEA Director General Grossi continues negotiations with the russian side on the safety of ZNPP. He has not reached a final decision on this security zone, but the process continues. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday the russians launched artillery strikes on the port area and the settlement of Ochakiv community. As a result, 3 people were wounded, including a 10-year-old boy. 16 civilian buildings were damaged. The enemy also struck Kutsurubsk community with MLRS.

Over 50K citizens have returned to the settlements of Mykolaiv oblast liberated by the Ukrainian defense forces. Also, life is gradually restored, humanitarian aid is delivered, and banks, pharmacies, and shops have started working. It was stated by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko. According to him, each liberated community is initially provided with humanitarian aid for 1-2 months. Regional military administrations also help, the Cabinet of Ministers allocates funds, volunteers and international organizations provide humanitarian aid in the form of food, warm clothes, and even construction materials.

Mykolaivvodokanal reported that the Republic of Latvia decided to allocate 200 thousand euros for Mykolaiv to restore the water supply. In the near future, the company will purchase modern equipment for network repair. As previously reported, the water supply network of Mykolaiv is currently worn out by 200 percent due to salt water and needs urgent replacement. Full restoration of water supply networks will take more than one year.

Odesa oblast

The spokesman of Odesa Regional Military Administration Serhiy Brachuk reported that there were no russian attacks in Odesa oblast over the past night, but the enemy tried to attack the south with an X-59 missile from Su-35 aircraft, which was shot down by air defense. 

Within two days, 5 vessels with 221 thousand tons of agricultural products for Africa and Asia left the ports of Odesa within the framework of the “grain initiative”. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported this. Among them is the bulk carrier SEA BRIDLE with 25 thousand tons of agricultural products for Libya. Since the beginning of the grain corridor, ports have sent 12 vessels with 305 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain to this African country. Currently, 29 ships are under processing in the ports. Over 1 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products are loaded on them. In total, since August 1,574 vessels have left the ports, exporting 14,6 million tons of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe, and Africa.

A fishing farm from Odesa oblast sent 500 kg of fish to Kherson. This is stated by the media with reference to the press service of the Odesa Fish Protection Patrol. The assistance was received by the regional children’s hospital and the Kherson oncological dispensary.

Kherson oblast

Yaroslav Yanushevych, Head of the Military Administration, said that the russian occupiers shelled the territory of Kherson region 60 times. They fired from artillery, MLRS, mortars, and tanks. Residential areas of Kherson again came under enemy fire, where the russians attacked a shipyard, and private and apartment buildings. As a result of russian shelling 1 person was killed, and 6 residents were injured of varying severity. Due to the russian artillery strike in the village of Stanislav, power grids and gas pipelines were damaged. A man was wounded, and 10 houses of local residents were damaged.

The press service of the National Police of Kherson region informed that in Kakhovka region the russian military took out 1 100 tons of grain from the warehouse. According to them, the russian military not only took out more than a thousand tons of grain, but also seized two tractors, cars, and a forklift. Earlier, Bloomberg reported that russia stole about $1 billion worth of wheat from Ukraine. 

In Kherson, the police recorded three torture chambers and one place of illegal detention of people by russians. This is reported by the media with reference to the acting head of the communication department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson oblast Andriy Kovanyi: “Currently, seven torture chambers and eight places of illegal detention have been recorded in liberated territories. Three torture chambers and one place of detention are located in Kherson itself. Another four torture chambers and seven places of detention are located in Beryslav district. But this is not all of them. These are only those that I can talk about as a police officer.” It is noted that only in one torture chamber in Kherson, more than 300 people were detained. This data may not be final, because the figure is growing.

RegioNews, referring to the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevhen Yenin, informed that in the village of Pravdyne in Kherson oblast, a grave with the remains of six people with traces of torture and gunshot wounds was found. The bodies were exhumed and sent for forensic examination. In total, since liberation of the right bank of Kherson oblast, investigators of the National Police have confirmed information about the death of 332 civilians, 17 of whom are children, and 74 people have not been identified. This was reported by the representative of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson oblast, Andriy Kovanyi. According to him, russian shelling of Kherson oblast does not stop, enemy shells mostly hit residential areas: “Russians are trying to hit the critical infrastructure, but the shells are actually flying all over the city. Unfortunately, civilians are injured and killed almost every day”. He added that since the beginning of hostilities, law enforcement officers have already initiated over 8,000 criminal proceedings on war crimes in Kherson oblast. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

At a meeting of the Lutsk City Council, a decision was made to allocate UAH 2 million for generators. At the session, it was decided to allocate remaining funds in the amount of UAH 1.5 million to the program of improving the material and technical support of military units, conducting ground defense and mobilization activities on the territory of the Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

In RMA, a meeting with business representatives was held. They discussed the program to support Zakarpattia entrepreneurs in the conditions of the energy crisis Energy help. The program provides compensation to business entities for part of the cost of purchasing alternative sources of energy generation with their own or credit funds.

A meeting with Czech scouts and manager of emergency response of the CF Caritas of the Czech Republic, Kateryna Kreichova, was held. They discussed humanitarian aid. A team of Czech volunteers comes monthly with aid to the frontline regions of Ukraine.

Valentyn Frechka, an inventor from Zakarpattia, reported on his FB page that he received €2.5 million from the EU to build a paper factory from fallen leaves.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Regional Children’s Hospital (Ivano-Frankivsk) received new modern equipment. Aid was provided by the Dr. Hans Altshuler Foundation (Switzerland).

Voinylin vocational lyceum received an Ataman school bus worth over UAH 2 million. The bus was purchased at the initiative and financial support of the German federal government from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Lviv oblast

The servicemen of one of the battalions of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade conducted training on deploying mortar fire and defeating the enemy. The purpose of the training is to improve knowledge and skills of the soldiers when using ammunition in practice to make defeat on the battlefield impossible.

The Drohobych District Military Administration received 5 generators. They were provided for the Kolo CF by the Dutch organization Eyes on Ukraine together with Ukrainian benefactors. The District Military Administration reported that they will be sent for the needs of the army and IDPs who currently live in the Drohobych district.

In Lviv, a charity art auction at the perinatal center raised over UAH 1 million. The event was organized as part of the We and the World charity project of cultural diplomacy to raise funds for a universal device for the care of premature babies Life Start for the oblast perinatal center and for 10 thermal imagers for 24 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

Another 40 invincibility centers were opened in Rivne oblast during the week. Currently there are 236 of them.

12 tonnes of borscht kits were sent from Rivne oblast to residents of Kherson oblast. Residents of the Loknytsk community collected 400 grocery bags, 16 cubic meters of firewood, 6 small pots and 2 tonnes of conservation (fat, lard and jam). A team of volunteers has already delivered humanitarian aid to the liberated territory of Kherson oblast.

Distribution of hot lunches organized by the regional authorities continues in Rivne. Throughout winter, those people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances will be able to eat hot, tasty food for free on Independence Square.

Rivne received a rescue car from the US benefactors. The car contains generators and in the event of a long-term power outage, the car will be used as a mobile heating station.

Ternopil oblast

Deputies at the session of the Ternopil Regional Council voted to return the Pochaiv Lavra to the state and conduct an investigation into the anti-Ukrainian activities of the clergy of the moscow patriarchate. A corresponding appeal was sent to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the heads of the Verkhovna Rada and the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Mayor of Ternopil, Serhii Nadal, announced that all residents of the city serving in the Armed Forces will receive thermal clothing. Over 3K sets were purchased and sent to military units at the place of service in Ternopil. In those military units where a small number of Ternopil residents serve, thermal clothing can be obtained by their relatives and transferred through the Army Aid from Ternopil center or through volunteers.

Ternopil rescuers got modern firemen and cars produced by the Pozhmashina company. New tankers based on the Ford 1833 SS 4×2 chassis can transport 5 tonnes of water and 500 liters of foaming agent to the fire site.

UAH 1.7 billion in aid was paid to IDPs registered in Ternopil oblast. Cash payments in the amount of UAH 2K per adult and UAH 3K per child began to be received by citizens in March of this year. Currently, about 85K IDPs live in Ternopil oblast.

Students of the first and second grades in Ternopil will receive reflective tapes. Flickers will be delivered to all schools in the city, and teachers will hand them over to children.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The Cybercrime Countermeasures Department in Khmelnytskyi oblast reported that the cyber police together with volunteers, created the MRIIA project, a strong initiative to counter the russian occupiers in the media space.

Chernivtsi oblast

A social laundry for IDPs was opened in Vyzhytsk region. They arranged it in the cultural center in the village of Ispas. The premises were renovated, water and electricity were installed.

 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken officially announced a new military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of $1.85 billion, which also includes the transfer of the Patriot air defense system.

The EU-Ukraine summit, where Ukraine’s membership in the EU will be discussed, will take place on February 3, 2023.

Since the war began, Bulgaria has transferred humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of $243 million. The Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria provided humanitarian aid in the form of 2k helmets and 2K bulletproof vests, 350 first-aid kits, 5K sets of winter clothing and 5K pairs of winter shoes. In addition, the country plans to train 60 Ukrainian doctors on its territory every year.

Denmark allocated another $43 million for military aid to Ukraine. They will be used to purchase weapons and equipment.

Croatia will allocate almost €3 million for demining machines for Ukraine.

Lithuania sent the first batch of warm clothes for Ukrainian defenders. Minister of Defense, Arvidas Anushauskas, announced that 19k sweaters and 15K thermal sets will arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks.

About 12K units of various winter clothing for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived from Iceland to Ukraine.

In Lithuania, generators are being prepared for shipment to Ukraine. Ukraine urgently needs them to continue providing electricity to the population.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made his first foreign visit to the US. Flags of Ukraine and the US were placed on the road leading to the Capitol.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke before the American Congress and presented the flag of Ukraine, which was handed to him by the military in Bakhmut.

Chief of the General Staff of Poland Raimund Andzeichak arrived in Ukraine and met with Valerii Zaluzhnyi. They discussed the security situation in Ukraine.
