War in Ukraine today: latest news, December 16, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 296th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

In the morning, russians hammered the civil infrastructure of Ukraine with a barrage of missile strikes. According to updated data, the russian invaders fired 70 cruise missiles and 4 guided air missiles. Ukrainian defense forces shot down 60 cruise missiles. As a result of the strikes, several energy infrastructure facilities and residential buildings were hit in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not changed significantly. No signs of forming the enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the armed forces of the republic of belarus and the russian federation are still stationed in the border areas with Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery attacks in the areas of Zapsillia and Popivka settlements, Sumy oblast and Strilecha, Starytsa, Ambarne, Vilkhuvatka, Dvorichna and Krasne, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the areas of Sinkivka, Orlianka, Tabaivka, Berestove and Vyshneve settlements, Kharkiv oblast and Volodymyrivka and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk oblast were shelled with tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery.

Towards Lyman, the enemy fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops from tanks and artillery of various calibers near Makiivka, Ploschanka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, and Hirskе, Luhansk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, the enemy continues to launch offensive operations, trying to find weak spots in the defense line for a breakthrough. The enemy shelled the areas of more than twenty settlements. Among them are Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Chasiv Yar, Druzhba, Zalizne, Maryinka and Pervomaiske, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Novopavlivka, the neighborhoods of Bohoiavlenka, Neskuchne, Prechystivka and Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast were struck.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy continues to shell our positions and the civil infrastructure of the settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. More than 30 settlements were affected. Plavny, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Olhivske, Nikopol, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Chornobaivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Mykilske, Tokarivka and Mylove, Kherson oblast were shelled.

The enemy continues to strengthen the defense line on the border of the Kherson region and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. They also reinforce the defense and protection of water supply facilities towards the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, specifically the North Crimean Canal. To this end, mobilized military units from Krasnodar were also sent there.

Units of missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 3 areas of buildup of personnel, a control post and an ammunition warehouse of the occupiers.

According to the commander in chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Russia launched 76 missiles with 72 cruise missiles among them on Ukraine. The air defense forces of Ukraine shot down 60 missiles. “According to preliminary information, this morning the enemy launched 76 missiles (X-101, Kalibr, X-22) from the Caspian and Black seas on critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine. There are 72 guided cruise missiles among them (Х-101, Kalibr, Х-22) and 4 guided aircraft missiles.”, noted Zaluzhnyi. 

Ukrenerho reports that following the barrage of terrorist strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, the state of emergency was declared for consumers. Northern, southern and central regions were affected the most. “The key goal once again were main power grids and generation facilities. As a result of strikes, the power shortage in the system has increased which was already significant”, emphasized Ukrenerho. As of 19:40 the state of emergency was revoked.    

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders targeted 14 settlements. 11 settlements were hit.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the invaders launched 10 missiles on Kharkiv oblast. 2 more cruise missiles were shot down by air defense forces. Critical infrastructure was damaged. So energy experts work on the site. There were no casualties. The city of Kharkiv is left without power supply. Kharkiv oblast is also de-energized. More than 1,600 settlements were without electricity, which is 1 million 279K consumers. As of 6 pm, electricity was provided to 85% of consumers in the region and 55% in Kharkiv. 

Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, said that there were “enormous infrastructure destructions in Kharkiv, above all in the energy system”. According to him, the energy specialists are already eliminating the consequences of the attack. 

Critical infrastructure in Chuhuiv district was hit.

Press service of the Regional Directorate of the SES informed that in the morning, the invaders attacked a hospital in Kupiansk. Pharmacy was destroyed and the infectious ward damaged. Rescuers saved the dog from under the rubble of the pharmacy building.

Kharkiv Regional police said that a 60-year-old woman was killed in Zakharivka border village of Vovchansk community as a result of shelling.

Another batch of 8 powerful generators from the International Committee of the Red Cross arrived at Kharkiv oblast.

Yesterday, the enemy launched 2 rocket strikes on non-residential civilian buildings. There were no military sites there. There were no casualties. 

The enemy shelled settlements of Chuhuiv, Izium, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts with tanks and artillery. In Kupiansk direction, the invaders attacked Berestove, Ivanivka, Kotliarivka, Kyslivka, Pershotravneve, Tabaivka and Vilshanka settlements with tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery

In Podoly village, Kupiansk district, as a result of shelling, a private building on an area of 60 square meters caught on fire.

At 7 am in Kupiansk, russian invaders attacked the central city hospital most likely with complexes C-300. The pharmacy building was directly hit. The infectious ward of the hospital was also damaged. There were no casualties.

According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care, a 50-year-old woman was killed yesterday. The details are being clarified.

Humanitarian de-mining continues. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service defused 175 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Spokeswoman of the SBU Main Directorate of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, Halyna Pryshchepa, informed that eight luhansk people’s republic members were captured by Ukrainian troops.

Mariupol Mayor Councillor, Petro Andriuschenko, reported that OMON units arrived in the temporarily occupied Mariupol to patrol the streets.

At night, russians continued shelling Bakhmut, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk regions.

Towards Donetsk, Kurakhove was being shelled all day long. 7 buildings and an infrastructure facility were damaged. Buildings and power grids in Kurakhove were also damaged. During the night and in the morning there was 1 artillery hit and 2 strikes with Grad MRLs in Avdiivka. There were no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, one person was killed in Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka community. The premises of the enterprise in Ivanopillia were damaged. In Bakhmut, 3 people were injured at night.

Towards Lysychansk in the morning, russians struck Lyman. According to preliminary information, S-300 systems were used. At present, there was no information about  casualties. The fires broke out following the strikes.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians killed 7 civilians: 2 in Bakhmut, 1 in Bila Hora, 1 in Chasiv Yar, 2 in Niu-York and 1 in Rozdolivka. Another 7 people were injured.

Luhansk oblast

The National resistance center informed that russian invaders are deporting kids from the occupied territory of Luhansk oblast for rehabilitation. Based on the center’s data, the occupiers launched the medical investigation of kids to send them to camps. Recently, they have taken 40 kids from Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk to Stavropol. 

According to the General Staff, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the enemy’s attacks in the area of settlements of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Ploschanka, Chervonopopivka, Bilohorivka. Towards Kupiansk the enemy shelled with tanks, mortars, barrels and rockets in the area of Stelmakhivka nd Miasozhairvka. Towards Lyman, the enemy hit the regions of Makiivka, Ploschanka, Chervornopopivka.  

Luhansk RMA informs the way Ukrainians, who were temporarily sheltered in russia, is different from that of other foreigners. The legal status of Ukrainians is vital to get the job. Ukrainians having the russian passport are employed as russian citizens; having a temporary residence permit in russia will have the permanent residence, and be employed as temporary employees; having the permit for temporary residence are employed under conditions it is temporary; having the refugee – the status of a refugee. Russians allegedly underestimate and discredit Ukrainian legal documents, including the Ukrainian passport since the identity document of the Ukrainian in russia will still be the temporary residence certificate. 

The number of males in the occupied territory of Luhansk is reducing. Mobilization measures are intensified. The so called national militia employees handed over draft notices before, representatives of occupation authorities replaced them. If Luhansk local comes to the pseudo administration on his own affairs, he might be back with a draft notice. 

Since there are many wounded occupiers in Luhansk oblast, delivery has turned into a real torture. A military hospital for soldiers of private military units was set up in the maternity hospital #3. Delivery occurs now in halls and ambulances since wounded invaders occupied hospital beds. 

Head of Sivierodonetsk MA Oleksandr Striuk reported that Sievierodonetsk is not ready for heating season. 

Luhansk occupation authority announced that Kadiivka (which they still call Stakhanov) and the village of Lanrativka, Troitskiy region, where 8 people were killed and 23 wounded, were shelled. Head of the pseudo-republic Leonid Pasichnyk put the blame on Ukrainian soldiers. Head of Luhask RMA Serhii Haidai informed that in Irmino not far from the occupied Kadiivka, the ammunition depot blew up as a result of the strikes. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of Kyiv RMA informed that a critical infrastructure facility and 9 private houses in different regions of Kyiv oblast were damaged by the airstrike on oblast. 4 people injured, one of them is in a grave condition. Emergency services are on site.

In Kyiv, explosions were heard in Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi and Holosiivkyi districts. The information about destruction and victims is being clarified. Currently, one victim in Dniprovskyi  district was reported.

Air defense forces destroyed 37 out of 40 russian missiles detected in the capital’s airspace.

The mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, said that the fragments of a downed russian rocket were found near the city. They fell on residential buildings.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that  National Guard soldiers destroyed a cruise missile near Kyiv. They hit it from the “Ihla” MANPADS. Debris of the rocket fell in a suburban area.

There are emergency power outages in Kyiv oblast, and hospitals and critical infrastructure are operating on generators. In some communities, there are interruptions in communication, water and heat supply. Communal services and energy companies are working in an enhanced mode.

Due to the damage to the energy infrastructure in the capital, emergency shutdowns have been applied, and there are interruptions in water supply in all districts. The movement of electric transport, including the subway, is temporarily suspended. Buses are used on ground routes instead of streetcars and trolleybuses.

Kyiv city council reports that 430 invincibility centers have been deployed in Kyiv ready to provide people with the necessary assistance to warm up, get hot drinks, charge electronic devices and use the Internet. The Kyiv RMA reports that more than 400 heating points operate around the clock in oblast.

The director of the Center Larisa Mahalova says that the load on the Contact Center of Kyiv has increased after the start of the russian full-scale invasion in Ukraine. Since February, the operators of the “hot line” have processed almost a million appeals.

The Ministry of Health reported that the hospitals of Kyiv oblast received critically important medical equipment. These are 13 medical institutions which should accept the role of “general” hospitals within the next-stage medical reform. ADRA charity organization delivered this equipment to hospitals damaged by the russians during the occupation of the region. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The head of Zhytomyr RMA Vitaly Bunechko reported that 2 missiles were fired at Zhytomyr oblast during the barrage of attacks. One of them was shot down by air defense, the other one hit a critical infrastructure facility in Korosten. There are no victims or injured.

As a result of another attack by the terrorist country, most residents of oblast were left without electricity. As reported in Zhytomyroblenergo, the restoration of electricity is already underway. Electricity has been restored to power up the critical infrastructure in almost all large cities. These are, first of all, boiler houses, water utilities and hospitals.

In Zhytomyr, boiler plants, electric transport and some Vodokanal facilities are temporarily suspended. As Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn reported such measures are being taken to pass the evening peak load on the power grid after missile attacks on critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

More than 350 shelters in Zhytomyr oblast operate 24 hours a day and are ready to provide hundreds of Ukrainians with help. They can charge their phones, warm up and contact their relatives there.

In Zhytomyr, philanthropists handed over 40 DJI Mavic drones to the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The drones will soon begin to be used at the front.

In Touch Ukraine Foundation informs that the educational institutions of Zhytomyr oblast continue to receive “School in a box” group kits for leisure and psychological support. The assistance is provided within the framework of implementing cross-sectoral project of UNICEF Ukraine.

Sumy oblast

The head of Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi the russian occupiers shelled Myropilsk and Krasnopilsk communities with mortars yesterday. There were  58 strikes on the border.

Today, the enemy continued to attack the territories of the region: 5 communities of Sumy oblast were attacked.

The Seredyna-Buda community was shelled four times: with 16 mortars and 20 grenade launchers. Mykolaivka was attacked with artillery, 4 hits were recorded.

3 mines exploded in the bordering Bilopol region, and the same amount of ammunition exploded in Esmansk community. Khotyn community was also hit with 31 shells. The enemy also dropped two explosives from a UAV.

Sumy RMA informed about the power outage due to another massive rocket attack. The power supply to all communities was restored in the afternoon.

Ukrzaliznytsia informs that trains “Shostka-Kyiv” and “Kyiv-Shostka” run with a delay of more than an hour due to damage to the energy infrastructure. 

In the village of Stepanivka children found unexploded ammunition from a DP-25 under barrel grenade launcher. Explosive technicians managed to safely remove the projectile and take it outside the settlement for further disposal.

The Department of Economic Development and Trade reported that 106 residents of Sumy oblast will receive grants to business startups  or business development. The region will get more than 24 million hryvnias and 237 people will be able to get a job.

Okhtyrka City Council informed that the city hospital received a generator from the Red Cross. 

Three family-type houses of Lypovodolynsk community in Sumy oblast received a generator from the USA. Assistance to families with 22 children was provided by the United States Agency for International Development USAID.

Chernihiv oblast

In Chernihiv oblast, citizens are asked to report unknown and unexplored burial sites as a result of battles and during the occupation. Chernihiv RMA shares the instructions on the process online. Messages can be anonymous.

Volodymyr Sirenko, head of the explosive department of the Chernihiv region police, informed that Chernihiv sappers helped in demining the territories of Kherson oblast. Volodymyr Sirenko says that not only fields and forests were mined:  the occupiers left explosive traps in computer equipment in the office premises.

Chernihiv purchased equipment worth more than 3 million hryvnias for arranging shelters. The equipment is intended for the simplest shelters in Chernihiv high-rise buildings. These are 200 biotoilets and 3,000 benches.

Chernihiv City Council informs that 51 Chernihiv families with newborn children will receive one-time money assistance within the fertility support program, for which 570,000 hryvnias have been allocated from the city budget.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, russian occupiers repeatedly shelled the Nikopol region at night. The russian army hit the Marhanets community with heavy artillery.

16 people injured, 3 killed: terrorists launched another massive attack on Dnipropetrovsk region. In Kryvyi Rih, the occupiers killed three people by hitting a residential building. Two of them are a young couple. The rescuers continue to search for the little boy, and work on the debris analysis continues.

Thirteen people, including four children, were injured. All were hospitalized. Previously, a Kh-101 missile hit the house.

Enemy missiles hit energy infrastructure facilities today in various areas of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Three substation workers were injured in Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih, and they are now in regional hospitals. Four fires were extinguished by rescuers.

Air defense forces shot down 10 enemy missiles in the sky over the region during the day. More than 3,000 miners were trapped underground due to a massive airstrike and the lack of electricity in  Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, and Synelnykove districts. Everyone was brought to the surface. The situation with the electricity supply in the region remains difficult. Russians have caused significant damage to the power system, leading to another blackout in the region.

Vinnytsia oblast

According to the information from the ‘South’ Operational Command six enemy missiles were destroyed over Vinnytsia oblast during a barrage of missile attacks.

The general director of JSC “Vinnytsiaoblenergo” Andrii Polishchuk at the 30th session of the “Energy Pool” cluster said that the situation with the electricity distribution in Vinnytsia region is stable. Its consumption is regulated. The number of sub-queues in queues is decreasing. However, the residents of the region are expected to have  a difficult winter.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to the Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andrii Raikovych, Kirovohrad oblast was completely left without electricity during the day due to missile strikes in different areas of Ukraine. In the evening, over 30% of consumers in the region already have electricity supply. First and foremost, the electricity is restored in critical infrastructure facilities and medical facilities. Then housing stock will follow.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, reported that the Air Defense Forces were activated during the air raid in the morning.

The spokeswoman of the company “Poltavateploenerho” Inna Kulish informed that “Poltavateploenergo” boiler plants are not operating due to a lack of electricity in Poltava oblast. Of 92 boiler plants of the regional enterprise “Poltavateploenergo”, only six are currently operating. They are connected to generators and heat medical facilities in Poltava. 

Cherkasy oblast

With the support of the Cherkasy RMA and international organizations, territorial communities of Cherkasy region received humanitarian goods for vulnerable families affected by the war. The aid consists of blankets, mattresses, bedding sets, beds, towels, pillows, thermoses, kitchen and hygiene sets.

Employees and teachers of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Cherkasy National University purchased the necessary items for the volunteer battalion “Karpatska Sich”. The charity event was timed to St. Nicholas Day and called “Collecting for superpower for the Armed Forces.” The list of needs was compiled following the requests of the military.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On December 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the russian forces fired 21 rockets, previously S-300 type, at Zaporizhzhia and territorial communities of Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of massive shelling, the premises and the adjacent territory of critical infrastructure facilities were partially destroyed.

Over the past day, December 15, the occupiers shelled civil infrastructure in the settlements of Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Stepove, Shevchenko, Temyrivka, Zaliznychne, Stepnohirsk, Dorozhnianka, Chervone, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Olhivske, Poltavka, Charivne, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky. The police received 26 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure facilities as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

Lviv Defense Cluster NGO handed over a batch of bulletproof vests for employees of emergency medical aid stations in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Their value lies in the large area of body protection and low weight. They weigh only 4 kg. Such bulletproof vests will protect doctors from shrapnel wounds, fragments of glass, concrete, etc.

A mobile hospital arrived in Zaporizhzhia to rescue wounded soldiers. The mobile hospital is equipped on the basis of a 12-meter long Mercedes-Benz bus. It was constructed by German and Ukrainian engineers and doctors in cooperation with the Innovation Fund NGO. Its cost is 150,000 euros. This will be the first experience of using such a hospital for Zaporozhzhia doctors. The hospital has two operating chairs, five intensive care units, seven vital activity monitors, ultrasound machines, ventilators and other medical equipment.

Mykolaiv oblast

2 russian Kalibr missiles were brought down during the barrage of missiles. In total, 11 missiles were shot down. 

Another ammunition depot was detected in Snihurivka. Together with the pyrotechnics, SES of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast checked the ammunition depot premises and withdrew ammunition which were sent to one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

This year, St. Nicholas’ sculpture in Mykolaiv will turn into a Christmas tree. The downtown monument was covered with camouflage and lights. City patron’s sculpture was protected from shelling with sand bags. On the holiday eve, the protection structure was covered with camouflage nets made by volunteers.

Odesa oblast

Anatolii Kozlov, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing of the City Council, reported that streetcars and trolleybuses will be replaced by buses in Odesa due to constant emergency power outages as a result of russian attacks. 

Odesa oblast received four modern filters for water purification from volunteers. Two filters with a cleaning capacity of 1,000 liters per hour will be installed in the Bolhrad hospital and in residential neighborhoods of Artsyz. One more filter with a capacity of 200 liters was transferred to Odesa Regional Adult Clinical Hospital and to Mykolaiv as humanitarian aid.

Kherson oblast

According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 3 Kalibr missiles over Kherson oblast during a massive missile attack. 

On the night of December 16, an apartment caught fire in Kherson as a result of russian shelling. One person died, three injured.

Yesterday, December 15, the russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson oblast 30 times. The enemy attacked the residential quarters of Kherson. Critical infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, transport, a medical aid and humanitarian aid point were targeted. As a result of russian shelling, 4 people were killed, 9 residents of the Kherson oblast were injured.

The police opened 51 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army in the Kherson oblast. The police received a report that two residents of Charivne village, Beryslav region, went towards a neighboring village and disappeared during the settlement occupation. Recently, their bodies were discovered in a nearby village, the territory of which is mined. It was preliminarily established that the men blew themselves up using unidentified explosives. Three more residents of Urozhaine village, Beryslav region, were killed when they tripped a mine. Men on the tractor went to collect firewood outside the settlement and did not return.

The enemy continues to strengthen the defense line on the border of Kherson oblast and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. They also reinforce the defense and protection of water supply facilities to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, specifically the North Crimean Canal. To this end, units mobilized from the Krasnodar community were additionally sent there. 

The Defense Forces destroyed 30 russian soldiers in Lazurny, on the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The boiler room was modernized at the Rozhyschi sports school with the institution’s own funds.

Humanitarian aid was sent from the Boratyn community to the liberated Kherson oblast. The cargo was sent within the framework of the United Communities project, implemented by the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities with the support of the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development.

The Rozhyshchi city council reported that local volunteers sent vehicles and humanitarian aid to the military front.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with JSC State Savings Bank of Ukraine on a package of livestock/sheep breeding lending programs. The program provides for the development of sheep breeding, winemaking and the provision of generators to entrepreneurs.

Zakarpattia received its own Program for development and functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language in all aspects of public life. Zakarpattia became the second oblast after Lviv oblast, where deputies of the regional council approved the language program.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The night limit of 212.99 MW for the period from 00:00 to 07:00 was proved by the dispatcher of Ukrenergo. The daily limit is 304.32. First of all, critical infrastructure facilities are supplied with power.

Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv visited 22 schools and 2 kindergartens. The mayor checked readiness for a possible long-term power outage.

Lviv oblast

In the Lviv City Hall, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on energy and housing and communal services was held. They discussed providing supply power to the critical infrastructure of cities, the policy of tariff formation, compensation for the difference in tariffs and the adoption of the draft law on  purchase of generators and energy equipment at the state level.

Three SUVs were sent from Drohobych to the front to the defenders. These cars were donated by the KOLO CF and the Drohobych District Military Administration within the framework of the 1 000 Freedom Cars initiative.

Donetsk oblast medics received 100 bulletproof vests from the Lviv Defense Cluster. The aid was handed over within the framework of the Let’s Protect Those Who Save project. The project’s partner isThe Renew Democracy Initiative.

The Lviv OVA reported that the Drohobych District Military Administration donated warm blankets, a set of antiseptics, a thermo pot for brewing warm tea or coffee and modern kettles for the needs of the Invincibility Centers of Drohobych district.

Volunteers of the Scottish CF Siobhans Trust visited Chervonohrad district for the eighth time. As part of the Pizza on Wheels campaign, despite the bad weather, the benefactors managed to treat over 100 IDPs to delicious pizza.

In Zolochiv district, a meeting with representatives of military universities for graduates of schools and technical institutes was held. During the event, students learned about entrance tests, requirements for applicants, training of cadets and prospects for military service.

Visits to Invincibility Centers were arranged for elderly Lviv residents, visiting the Lviv City Territorial Center of Social Services. Elderly men and women visited the points accompanied by social workers and a psychologist of the Center.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne, they distributed 600 food packages for displaced people, provided by the international humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen.

The Right to Protection CF within the framework of the SOS Ukraine project provided over UAH 6 million to help IDPs. As part of this program, 3K displaced people in the oblast received assistance in the amount of a one-time payment of UAH 2,2K

The World Food Program of the United Nations provided over UAH 85 million to support IDPs in the city of Rivne. The amount of assistance is UAH 2 220 per person. Displaced persons receive payments within three months.

Ternopil oblast

Among the fighters who managed to return from another captivity, there are four servicemen of the 105th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ternopil oblast. Now the released defenders are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in a hospital in the territory controlled by Ukraine. There they are provided with psychological and medical assistance.

The Ternopil CF Pokrova sent 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Kherson oblast. The necessary products will also be given to the rescuers who are currently working in the liberated territories of Kherson oblast.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

From Khmelnytskyi, for the needs of the local utility company, an excavator  for emergency work, 350 square meters of construction roofing material and food were sent.

Chernivtsi oblast

Head of the Chernivtsi RMA, Ruslan Zaparaniuk, joined the meeting of the General Council of Deputies of the Swabian District online. They discussed humanitarian aid for Chernivtsi oblast.

Deputies of the Chernivtsi City Council adopted the budget for 2023, which amounts to UAH 3.2 billion. The budget provided for a reserve of money to meet the needs of the military.

The campaign Gift a Book to a Child has started in Bukovyna. Ukrainian-language publications are collected for children who are abroad because of the war. The charity campaign was initiated by the Department of Education and Science of Chernivtsi oblast.

The EU agreed to the 9th package of sanctions against russia.

The Vatican launched a fund-raising campaign to send thermal vehicles to Ukraine to help people survive the winter in the war with russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Canadian Prime Minister Truido. They discussed strengthening defense cooperation between the two states.

Training of the first team of Ukrainian medics on aeromedical evacuation began in Poland. The instructors are medical instructors and flight training instructors of the Polish Aviation Medical Service Center, who work and train their staff on a daily basis according to the EU standards.

For the first time, the Turkish Baykar launched the Kizilema unmanned fighter jet with a Ukrainian-made AI-25TLT jet engine from Motor Sich.

The US imposed sanctions against one of the largest russian oligarchs, Volodymyr Potanin (assets of about $23 billion) and against First Deputy Prime Minister of the russian federation Andrii Bilousov. Sanctions were also introduced against a number of governors of russian regions and against the holding company Interros.

The French regulator obliged the satellite communications operator Eutelsat to stop broadcasting three russian channels, namely, russia 1, the first channel and ntv.

The Lithuanian Parliament passed a law on the control of weapons and ammunition, which prohibits the possession of weapons by russians and belarusians living in Lithuania.
