War in Ukraine today: latest news, December 14, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 294th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The enemy focuses its efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, trying to improve the tactical position towards Kupiansk and Lyman. 

The enemy launched 23 air and 7 missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in the cities of Kurakhove and Kostiantynivka, Donetsk oblast. The occupiers also carried out more than 10 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, targeting the city of Kherson among other settlements.

The enemy launched a strike with Iranian Shahed-136/131 UAVs from the east coast of the Sea of Azov on critical infrastructure facilities of Kyiv oblast. All 13 UAVs of the occupiers were shot down.

Towards Volyn and Polissya, the situation has not changed significantly, there are no signs of enemy offensive groups being formed. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy shelled the settlements of Leonivka, Buchky and Hai in Chernihiv oblast; Seredno-Buda and Kucherivka in Sumy oblast and Hlyboke, Starytsia, Novomlynsk and Dvorichna, Kharkiv oblast. An assault UAV was used near Kindrativka, Sumy oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the positions of our troops near Kyslivka and Kotliarivka of Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast were shelled from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery.

Towards Lyman, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka of Luhansk oblast and Dibrova and Hryhorivka in the Donetsk oblast came under fire of the occupiers.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the settlements of Andriivka, Blahodatne, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Diliivka, Maiorsk and Niu York of Donetsk oblast. He launched an airstrike near Stupochka.

Towards Avdiivka, the positions of our troops were shelled near Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery.

In the Novopavlivka, our positions near Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka and Neskuchne of Donetsk oblast suffered fire damage. 

Towards Zaporizhia and Kherson, the Russian occupiers continue to shell civilian infrastructure of settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. 28 settlements were affected by fire.  Among them are Vremivka and Novoselka, Donetsk oblast; Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Tiahynka, Kherson, Tokarivka, Molodizhne and Berehove in Kherson oblast.

The fire damage was confirmed on December 12 in the area of an enemy buildup near Verbove, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Up to 10 units of weapons and military equipment of various types were destroyed, losses among enemy servicemen are being specified. 

The enemy continues to use civilian health care facilities in the temporarily occupied territory to treat wounded servicemen of the occupying forces and mercenaries of private military campaigns. Thus, in the city of Luhansk, at the city skin-venereal dispensary, wounded representatives of the  Vagner PMC are being treated.

Ukrainian aviation has inflicted 7 strikes on buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 strikes on the positions of the occupiers’ anti-aircraft missile systems.

At the same time, units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 2 control points and 8 buildups of enemy personnel.


The Office of the Attorney General states that since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, prosecutors have recorded 154 cases of sexual violence by russian servicemen. They also discovered more than 30 facts of electrocuting genitalia.

Andrii Yermak says that 64 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to return home. Among them are officers, privates and sergeants who fought in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Murekezi Suedi, the US citizen who helped our people, was also freed. The bodies of four of our defenders were returned as well.

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak informs that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the law On Media, which is mandatory for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union. In general, the law should regulate activities of the media, bloggers and web platforms, and also proposes to expand the powers of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the attack of the Russian army near the village of Hrianykivka of the Dvorichna community. The invaders are trying to improve the tactical position towards Kupiansk.

Head of the Kharkiv RMA Oleh Syniehubov says that in Kharkiv oblast, they continue to equip existing and open new Centres of Invincibility. 302 centres are equipped with electric generators, Internet connection, places for recreation and supplied with warm clothes, first aid kits, play areas for children, etc.

The occupiers continue to strike at the settlements of the Kupiansk region. Yesterday, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repulsed attacks by russian invaders in the area of Hrianykivka of the Dvorichna community.

Kupiansk, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Berestovo, Vilkhuvatka, Ambarne, Khatnie, Mylove and Dvorichna were shelled from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery. 

In addition, Kharkiv and Chuhuiv regions were under enemy fire. There are no casualties.

Voluntary evacuation of the population to safer places continues in the oblast. As of December 14, the number of evacuees is 339 people, another 64 applications are currently in operation.

In Kharkiv oblast, beekeepers whose farms were damaged as a result of the war are helped to record losses. According to Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Union of Beekeepers Denys Soldatov, beekeepers in Vovchansk, Kupansk, Shevchenkove, Izium, Barvinkove, Derhachi communities suffered losses due to the russian invasion.

Donetsk oblast

During the day, the russian army carried out 23 air and 7 missile strikes on the infrastructure of Kostiantynivka and Kurakhove. Other settlements in Donetsk oblast and Luhansk oblast were also attacked.

The Center of National Resistance informed that the Ukrainian underground helped destroy more than a hundred russian occupiers in occupied Horlivka. On December 12, the Armed Forces launched a pinpoint strike on the location of the occupiers and their equipment. 

Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed positions of the russian military near Bakhmut. The video was published by the press service of the 71st Hunter Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In total, the Ukrainian military eliminated about ten occupiers.             

At night and in the morning, the russians fired in the center and north of Donetsk oblast.

Towards  Donetsk, there are no casualties, but there is destruction. After midnight, the russians attacked Kurakhove with an S-300 and shelled Kurakhivka – 2 houses and an enterprise building were damaged. Mariinka, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, and Heorhiivka were under artillery fire. A house in Krasnohorivka was hit directly.

Towards Horlivka, there was intense shelling of the Soledar community: in Paraskoviivka, a kindergarten, 4 houses, and the premises of an enterprise were damaged; Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, and Rozdolivka were attacked as well. The enemy also hit the outskirts of Toretsk and Chasiv Yar communities. No casualties.

Towards Lysychansk, the russians fired more than 30 shells at Torske and Zarichne in the Lyman community. There was no information about the victims.

Luhansk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs that the occupiers continue to use civilian hospitals to treat wounded regular army personnel and mercenaries from private military companies. 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, units of the Defense Forces repulsed several attacks by russian invaders in the areas of Novoselivske, Krasnopopovka and Belohorivka. Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, russian shelling from tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket artillery was carried out in the areas of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Miasozharivka, Hrekivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka and Peshchany.

The Luhansk RMA announced that in Rubizhne, the occupiers are destroying the water supply system, and in the so-called “LPR” they will introduce centers for military and sports training of children, where they will be trained to fly drones.

Head of the Luhansk RMA Serhii Haidai informs that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are successful towards Svativ and Kreminna: one should not expect rapid gaps there. Our troops are gradually moving forward. According to him, the situation towards Bilohorivka is unchanged – the enemy is shelling the settlement around the clock and trying to break through our defenses.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

From the very morning, the oblast was attacked by enemy drones. As a result of another attack by a terrorist country in one of the communities of Kyiv oblast, a private house was damaged.

According to Head of the KRMA, Serhii Popko, Kyiv suffered two waves of drone attacks. The wreckage from the downed UAVs hit the administrative building, and 4 residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital were also damaged. Air defense and electronic warfare units destroyed13 enemy drones .

Head of the Kyiv RMA, Oleksii Kuleba says that in one of the communities of the oblast, russians launched three strikes with enemy kamikaze drones on an infrastructure facility. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out, 43 people and 12 units of SES equipment were involved in its extinguishing.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, despite the morning shelling, the oblast’s energy crews are working in an enhanced mode in order to reach planned outages in the near future. In general, the situation in the power system remains difficult. Restoration of power grids continues, but is complicated by weather conditions.

Border guards recorded an explosion of a russian-made PMN-4 anti-personnel mine in one of the settlements of Kyiv oblast, which was under occupation. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that a person was injured. He was assisted and taken to a medical facility. Demining works are ongoing – pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service last day neutralized 400 explosive objects.

Restoration work continues in Borodianka, one of the most affected settlements of the oblast. Currently, work has begun there to construct the Center for Administrative Services. The modular building will be installed as soon as possible.

In the village of Buzova, where Russian tanks shot houses closely, a five-storey building will be dismantled. It is planned to build a modular town in the village, which to temporarily resettle people while restoration work continues.

In the capital, the Centre of Invincibility will be opened at the National Academic Theater named after Lesia Ukrainka. An hour before the start of the performances, theater visitors will be able to warm up, drink hot tea or coffee, recharge their gadgets and connect to Wi-Fi.

The exhibition Oblast of Heroes was presented at the passenger railway station of Bila Tserkva. As reported in the Kiev OVA, later this project will be presented at other stations in the oblast. At the exhibition, there are stories of heroes from different communities who participated in the defense and continue to repel the enemy in the east or south of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

During counterintelligence security activities, the SBU of Zhytomyr oblast discovered in the Ovruch-Korosten diocese of the UOC (MP) the kremlin’s manuals, prayers for russia and electronic correspondence with the moscow Patriarchate. An inspection of mobile terminals revealed contacts with citizens of the Russian Federation, which are currently being checked by law enforcement officers. In total, almost two dozen places of worship, as well as about 40 people who were on the territory of religious sites, were inspected.

In Zhytomyr, on Sobornyi Square, 11 buses from Estonia were transferred, which will be received by 9 communities of the oblast. In total, the Republic of Estonia has donated 26 Iveco Irisbus Crossway buses to restore Ukraine’s transport links.

A hostel for IDPs was equipped in the regional center within the project Integrated Urban Development in Ukraine with grant funds from the German government and the Swiss Confederation. Seven families can live in the hostel at the same time, its rooms are fully furnished and equipped. Zhytomyr residents, whose homes were destroyed, will be able to temporarily move into the hostel.

Sumy oblast

Head of the Sumy RMA Dmitry Zhivitskyi informs that three communities of Sumy oblast were under enemy fire: Esman, Bilopillia and Khotyn. The occupiers used drones with explosives, mortars and self-propelled guns. There were 28 strikes.

The enemy hit the border of Sumy oblast. At about 7:00, 3 mines were fired on the outskirts of the Seredyno-Buda community. In the afternoon, the russian military shelled the Putivl community with mortars: there were 14 hits.

Two more soldiers from Sumy oblast returned from enemy captivity. Artem Kapustian from Lebedyn region was captured in the battle for Bakhmut. Sergeant Yurii Stolbun from the city of Romny performed a combat mission in Donbas. In total, today, as part of another exchange of prisoners, 64 defenders were liberated.

Head of the Sumy RMA Dmitry Zhivitsky says that in Sumy oblast, the schedule of power outages +4/-2 has been restored. The head also urged citizens to save electricity in order to meet the limits and prevent emergency outages.

Sumy Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko reported that Sumy City Council allocated UAH 250 million from the 2023 budget for security and defense. “Today, we have to primarily think about defense, security and order”, the mayor emphasized. He explained that caring about order means maintaining critical infrastructure. 

Sumy patrol officers rescued an 81-year-old resident of Sumy who got stuck in the elevator during a blackout. The woman spent more than two hours in a closed cabin before the arrival of the rescuers.

In the city of Romny, Sumy Oblast, an “Invincible Ukraine” charity event was held. Romny musicians collected money for the AFU. The event was organized by representatives of the Romny Youth Council. In addition to helping defenders, the organizers of the event aimed to disseminate Ukrainian music and culture.

A nurse from the city of Lypova Dolyna received an award the Order For Courage III degree from the President of Ukraine. The resident of Sumy received the award for “significant personal merits in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people.”

Chernihiv oblast

The Department of Civil Protection and Defense Work of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration informs that the russian military shelled the border communities three times.

At about 11:00, mortars were fired from the outskirts of the villages of Buchky and Hai, 5 hits in total. Within an hour, the invaders again attacked the border, dropping ammunition from the drone. Explosives hit a civilian car driving through the territory of the Semenivka community between the villages of Leonivka and Hremiachka. One person was injured.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reports that the russian army shelled two border villages of Chernihiv oblast. The village of Lypivka was shelled – 7 hits in the morning and 8 in the afternoon, and the village of Khrynivka – 20 hits. The fire was probably from mortars.  

During an online speech at the forum on economic sustainability and reconstruction of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that almost 9K facilities in the Chernihiv region need to be restored quickly. More than 7K of them are residential buildings. Some of the work is already underway. France which took patronage over the reconstruction of the oblast.

The Nizhyn City Council informs that the community sent a car to the servicemen of the Main Directorate of Intelligence. The all-wheel drive SUV was purchased at the expense of charitable contributions from employees of the city council, medical and general educational institutions of the city. This is the 21st car for the military from Nizhyn. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, the russian occupiers repeatedly shelled the Nikopol region with heavy artillery, Hrads and Hurricanes. The enemy fired about fifty shells at Nikopol and Marhanets communities, hitting houses of local residents.

In Nikopol, 6 private residential buildings, electricity grids, a gas pipeline, and a warehouse were mutilated. Two fires broke out in Marhanka as a result of the shelling. 7 houses, outbuildings, a car, several gas pipelines, and power lines were damaged. 

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia residents studied Israel’s experience in security as part of the Ukrainian delegation. The three-day program dedicated to global sustainability, municipal innovation, urban planning, and mobility was presented at the beginning of December by the Israeli international platform MUNIWORLD. In particular, the delegation visited the factory for the production of security rooms and protective structures RB DOORS. Such experience is currently very relevant for the country.

Further cooperation between Vinnytsia and the sister city of Bat Yam has also been discussed.

Ophthalmologist Kateryna Grizhymalska reported that 25 internally displaced children have been treated at the Vinnytsia Vision Center Optyka Ochi since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the rf. Not only consultations and examinations are provided for free, but also hardware vision treatment is carried out.

Kirovohrad oblast

Head of the RMA Andrii Raikovych announced that Vitalii Verhun from Kropyvnytskyi returned from russia due to the exchange of captives. 

Spokeswoman of the Kirovohradoblenerho, Olena Danylchenko reported that hourly power outage schedules continue in Kirovohrad Oblast, but thanks to the increase in the energy consumption limit for Kirovohrad Oblast, it became possible to deviate from them, and in some cases not to turn the electricity off. 

Poltava oblast

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Poltava oblast reported that Poltava rescuers conduct practical training and improve their skills in controlling the Matrice 300 RTK unmanned aerial vehicle.

The Hlobyn community informs that a new rehabilitation department for military personnel is being prepared for opening. The rehabilitation department will start working on the basis of the Hlobyn city hospital. 

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy volunteer Oleksandr Polishchuk handed over an exciting exhibit to the Cherkasy Regional Museum of Local Lore. During a humanitarian trip to Kharkiv oblast, one of the units liberating Ukrainian land from the Russian occupiers gave him a russian reconnaissance quadcopter shot down by our fighters the previous  day.

In Cherkasy’s Points of Invincibility, bookcrossing was started. It was decided to initiate the action because many people read books there . 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizzhia has not undergone significant changes. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions.

Over the past day, the occupiers shelled the civilian infrastructure in Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Kamianske, Orikhiv, Dorozhnianka, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Plavni.

The police received 12 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

On December 13, 2,620 consumers in 9 settlements of the Orikhiv region were left without power supply due to the shelling by the russian military. Emergency repairs will be possible when the security situation allows.

The defeat of the enemy by the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the previous days was confirmed. Thus, in addition to the destruction of the command staff of the 58th Army in Melitopol, three artillery systems, up to 10 units of military equipment were destroyed near Enerhodar, Tokmak and Huliaipole, and about 150 enemy servicemen were wounded.

According to the General Staff, the losses of the enemy in Zaporizhzhia oblast amount to 100 wounded occupiers, and an ammunition depot was destroyed.

The IAEA reported that mobile diesel boiler rooms will be connected to the Zaporizhzhia NPP to prevent freezing of the plant’s critical systems. 

Mykolaiv oblast

On December 13, the enemy shelled the coastal zone of the Ochakiv community with barrel artillery. There are no casualties.

Law enforcement officers exhumed the bodies of three underage girls in the liberated village Novopetrivka, Shyroke community. In the summer of 2022, minors were killed when a projectile hit one of the houses during the shelling of the village by russian troops. The girls were 12, 14 and 16 years old.

Roads  are being reconstructed in the de-occupied territories of Mykolaiv oblast. Accident-free passage was re-established on 286.5 km of public roads of local importance, including roads in the reclaimed territories. Also 3 temporary crossings were built near the damaged bridges, and traffic was restored. Two more are under construction.

From December 5 to 12, utility crews repaired more than 430 square meters of roof in nine high-rise buildings in Mykolaiv. Also, the administrations of the city’s districts issued building materials to repair five private houses, as well as two enterprises. During this period, almost 1,400 windows in high-rise and private houses were covered with film and OSB plates in Chervona Dolyna, Poliana, and Shyroke villages in the Shyroke community. Restoration works were also carried out in Mykolaiv and Voznesk regions.

Mykolaivoblenerho workers restored electricity supply to five settlements of Mykolaiv oblast, liberated in November. Residents of these villages have been without electricity since March 2022. The shelling damaged or completely destroyed most of the energy equipment and networks there. As of December 14, electricity has been restored in the city of Snihurivka and in more than ten liberated settlements.

Odesa oblast

The Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Odesa’s bid for Expo 2030 at the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau in Paris. During his speech, the president emphasized that Ukraine would become a model of reconstruction, despite any manifestations of terror and russia’s attempts to subjugate Ukrainians.

On December 14, heads of Okny community farms handed over a car for the mobile air defense fire group. This was reported by the Odesa RMA.

On December 14, four ships with 69.5 thousand tons of agricultural products for Asia left the ports of Great Odesa. Currently, 665.8 K tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products are loaded on 21 ships in the Ukrainian ports. A ship loaded with 63,500 tonnes of agricultural products moves through the Grain Corridor. 81 vessels are awaiting inspection in the Bosphorus (61 for entry, 20 for exit). The situation with the queue is tense, since the russian federation registers no more than three vessels per day, instead of the required 12.

Kherson oblast

Today, russian invaders fired at the building of the Kherson RMA. The russian military hit the center of Kherson with multiple rocket launchers, two floors were damaged. According to preliminary information, there are no victims.

On December 13, the russian occupiers shelled Kherson oblast 42 times. The enemy once again shelled residential quarters of Kherson. The occupiers targeted a yacht club, a school, a sports facility, some private and apartment buildings, killing 1 person, and wounding another.

The police discovered 64 cases of sexual violence related to the conflict in Kherson oblast. A special mobile group of police officers, prosecutors, psychologists, and Global Rights Compliance experts worked in Kherson oblast for the second time. They investigated into sexual violence related (rape, electric torture of the genitals, forced nudity, etc.), committed by the russian military in liberated settlements.

Dmytro Lubinets, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada, said that the russian military was setting up torture chambers for children in the occupied territories. According to him, 10 torture chambers were discovered in Kherson. One of them had a separate cell where children were kept. Children were deprived of food and told that their parents had abandoned them.

The police received a report from a representative of a company selling agricultural machinery about the fact of looting by the russian military. The occupiers looted and appropriated the property of the enterprise located in the temporarily occupied Kahovka region in the amount of more than 18 million hryvnias: sets for equipping sprinkler machines, diesel generators, spare parts for sprinkler machines and sets for maintenance. Police opened 9 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian military in Kherson oblast.

Aid was delivered from Poland to Kherson oblast. Food, warm blankets, pillows, mattresses, and winter clothes were distributed among residents of the Chornobaivka region. Beds, hygiene products, surgical instruments and medicines were delivered to the Kherson Regional Hospital from Poland.

Yesterday, energy engineers restored electricity in the following settlements: Muzykivka, Shkurynivka, Zahorianivka, Bohdanivka, Petrivka, Veletenske, Pervomaiske, Rozlyv, Yantarne, and Berehove. In Kherson, 95% of centralized water supply was restored. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In the Territorial Medical Association for Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, a new shelter was built in the neonatal ward. Head of the institution, Iryna Horavska, said that over UAH 1 million from the regional budget was spent on all the works.

The RMA thanked the representative of the German Ukrainisshe Kinder in Not for the charitable and volunteer aid provided to the residents of the oblast. The CF constantly helps orphans and children deprived of parental communication.

In the Lutsk community, in case of a blackout, there will be 70 heating points in schools and kindergartens. Now they are being prepared for work.

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia oblast received a mobile blood transfusion station. It allows collection of biological material outside the regional blood transfusion station. 4-5 people can donate blood at the same time, i.e. about 8K people a year.

In the RMA, a meeting with representatives of the global humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger was held. They discussed actual needs of IDPs and prospective areas of cooperation.

Minister of Culture of Slovakia, Nataliya Milanova, could not hold back tears during the performance of Zakarpattia children and groups from the frontline regions, who these days caroled in Bratislava as part of the Christmas Together with Ukraine project.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv held an online meeting with Mayor of the German city of Muhlheim-an-Ruhr, Mark Buchholz, and representatives of the city of Opole. They discussed humanitarian aid.

The city of Muhlheim has prepared 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Ivano-Frankivsk,  namely, medicines, warm clothes for children and adults, blankets, heaters, etc. In the near future, the aid will be delivered to the city.

A Christmas tree was installed in Ivano-Frankivsk. This year it is not a traditional, but a symbolic one made of Ukrainian children’s drawings in the form of a Christmas tree.

Lviv oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs was held. They discussed helping IDPs.

Within the  1000_freedom_cars initiative 7 cars were sent for the needs of soldiers in Azov from Lviv oblast. The defenders will receive a tractor with a trailer, an ambulance, an SUV and passenger cars.

Volunteers from Estonia from the United Delivery Mission initiative sent 9 cars and a trailer to the war zone. According to the Sambir District Military Administration, all vehicles are equipped with camouflage nets. winter tires, 5 generators, over 200 insulated winter jackets and medical supplies.

The the Drohobytsk Military Administration and the Kolo CFsent two ambulances for the needs of military medics. 

The  NEEKA CF and the Consultative and Coordination Center under the Stryi Military Administration continues to provide assistance to IDPs. In one week, they distributed over 200 food kits.

An educational and practical conference Availability in Communities of Services in Tourism, Hotel-Restaurant and Leisure Business for People with Limited Mobility was held in Lviv. The participants of the conference gathered to develop a list of needs of communities for adaptation of space for persons with disabilities.

Volunteer help for psychology students will be counted as practice. The corresponding agreement was signed by representatives of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State University, the platform Medical – Psychosocial Service of Lviv Oblast for IDPs and the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

In the Hrabovetska-Dulibivsk territorial community, a meeting of the participants of the pilot project Security Specialist in the Educational Environment was held. The project is implemented by the National Police of Ukraine in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, together with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representation in Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with Deputy Head of the USAID HOVERLA project Natalia Hnydyuk and Head of the local self-government department Halyna Semenets was held. They discussed projects that will contribute to economic development.

Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval gave an interview for Voice of America journalist Myroslava Gongadze. They visited the zero position on the Ukrainian-belarusian border.

The Rivne Regional Employment Center is starting to train drone operators. The group will consist of 10 people. The corresponding course for civilians and the military will be held for the second time. 

Planned hospitalizations in medical institutions have been temporarily suspended in Rivne oblast. This is related to saving electricity.

In the Kornyna territorial community all educational institutions have generators. This became possible thanks to benefactors from Poland.

The 13th  security classroom was opened on the basis of the Dubensky Lyceum. Students will be able to gain knowledge and practical skills on fire and mine safety, pre-medical assistance, psychological relief and life safety.

Ternopil oblast

Mayor of the city of Ternopil, Serhii Nadal, announced that the City Council is ready to co-finance the purchase of a generator for the elevator.

In the RMA, awards were presented to the families of defenders from Ternopil oblast. Chief Sergeant Andrii Barskyi (driver-radiotelephone operator) and soldier Ivan Anin (machine gunner) were awarded with the Order of Courage III degree (posthumously).

Ternopil started registering displaced persons for receiving cash aid from the Red Cross. It is provided to IDPs from underprivileged categories and families raising a child with a disability under the age of 18 can.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The exhibition Communism = Racism of the Archives of National Memory is on display on the main square of Khmelnytskyi. It presents an example of heroic resistance of ordinary Ukrainians.

Khmelnytskyi received 5 modern X-ray machines, worth almost UAH 3.7 million each. The equipment came thanks to cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank.

A humanitarian cargo was sent from Khmelnytskyi to the liberated Kherson, namely stoves, over 700 food kits and warm clothes. The aid was provided by the community of the German city of Hof.

Chernivtsi oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with the delegation of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine was held. Economic assistance, work with IDPs, humanitarian activities and restoration of Ukraine were discussed.

Heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine were honored at the RMA. Awards were presented to the families of 13 fallen servicemen.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Prime Minister Shmyhal announced that according to the results of the energy Ramstein, which took place in Paris, Ukraine attracted about $1 billion to get through the winter.

All 27 countries of the EU supported the provision of EUR 18 billion of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.

The Italian Parliament approved a resolution on continuation of arms supplies to Ukraine in 2023.

Ukraine received EUR 500 million of macro-financial assistance from the EU. This is the last tranche within the exceptional eighth EU macro-financial assistance program.

The Ministry of Finance reported that Ukraine received EUR 200 million in grant funds from Germany for IDPs.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that France will provide Ukraine with EUR 1 billion in aid.

Britain allocated a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 50 million pounds. The Ukrainian military will receive 125 anti-aircraft guns and devices for countering kamikaze drones.

Head of the French Foreign Ministry, Catherine Colonna announced that France will send a new batch of air defense systems to Ukraine in the near future.

Canada will transfer $115 million from the tariff revenues that the country collected from russia and belarus to repair Ukraine’s power grid.

President of Switzerland, Ignacio Cassis, announced Switzerland will provide a new aid package of $100 million.

Germany announced allocation of another EUR 50 million of winter aid to Ukraine.

Spain sent to Ukraine over 160 units of equipment to restore the power grid after russian missile strikes.

France will allocate EUR 1 million to support Ukrainian technology startups.

New Zealand will allocate $3 million to support Ukrainians during the winter. The aid will be used to purchase medical supplies, generators and other necessary items.

Ukraine will receive 10 bridges from Norway to replace the destroyed ones, their total cost is NOK 30 million.

The European Commission will give Estonia EUR 10 million to help Ukrainian refugees.

The United Kingdom allocated 2.5 million pounds and arranged the training of 90 Ukrainian judges to conduct trials on war crimes committed by the russian military. 

Ukraine has signed a guarantee agreement with the EBRD to raise a EUR 300 million loan for Ukrenerho for emergency restoration of power transmission networks. The funds are also accompanied by a grant of EUR 70 million from the Netherlands to purchase high-voltage equipment.

Ukraine has signed an Agreement with the French government on the supply of rails for Ukrzaliznytsia produced by the French company Saarstahl in the amount of up to EUR 37.6 million.

Ukraine concluded a Long-Term Roadmap between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of France regarding the launch of a program to support Ukraine’s digital industry.

Ukraine signed a Memorandum with France on the supply of bridges for the needs of Ukravtodor in the amount of about EUR 25 million.

France concluded a bilateral agreement with the EBRD. The agreement provides for EUR 100 million of aid for Ukraine.

Prime Minister Jonas Har Store announced that Norway plans to approve a multi-year program of support for Ukraine.

The United Kingdom introduced new sanctions against russia and Iran. The restrictions concern 12 high-ranking officials of the russian army involved in missile attacks on Ukraine, three Iranians involved in production or supply of russian drones, and the Iranian company MADO.

Laos and Jordan closed the airspace for planes from the russian federation.

In Lithuania, the Seimas adopted the De-Sovietization Law, which prohibits the propaganda of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, as well as their ideology.

The Louvre audio guide will speak Ukrainian. In Paris, a corresponding memorandum was signed between the Louvre, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Embassy in France.

The European Parliament presented the Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought to the People of Ukraine.
