The enemy is focusing its efforts on conducting the offensive towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Zaporizhzhia. In other directions, the enemy is trying to restrain the actions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The occupiers launched 6 missile attacks, 4 of which hit the civilian infrastructure of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk oblast, as well as shelled the city of Kherson with multiple rocket launchers.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the situation did not significantly change; there are no signs of offensive groups of the enemy being formed. Certain units of the armed forces of the republic of belarus and the russian federation continue to be located in the border areas with Ukraine. 

The enemy shelled Seredyno-Buda and Riasne, Sumy oblast, as well as Strilecha, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Volohivka, Okhrimivka, Chuhunivka, Ambarne, Dvorichna and Kamianka, Kharkiv oblast with mortar and artillery.

Towards Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Berestove in Kharkiv oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast came under enemy fire.

Terny, Yampolivka and Torske districts of Donetsk oblast were hit by fire towards Lyman.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy fired tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of almost twenty settlements, namely Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar and Druzhba in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, Zalizne, Niu York, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, and Mariinka of Donetsk oblast came under fire.

Towards Novopavlivka, Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka and Prechystivka of Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy inflicted fire damage on Vremivka in Donetsk oblast and Zelene Pole, Novopil, Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka and Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy shelled settlements in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson with barrel and rocket artillery. There were casualties among the civilian population, and civilian infrastructure damaged.

russian occupiers continue to loot civil infrastructure objects in the temporarily captured territory of Kherson oblast. Thus, as of December 11, the equipment of local agricultural enterprises was removed from Rubanivka.

In Mizhvodne and Chornomorsk in Crimea, the russian occupying power intensified administrative, police and counterintelligence measures.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. There are more than 100 enemy servicemen with injuries of varying severity in the local hospital of Kreminna, Luhansk oblast.

To replenish the losses in manpower and re-staff the units of the 1st Army Corps, women are called up for mobilization. 28 women have been drafted and sent for training by the Kalinin District Military Commissariat of the city of Donetsk.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces launched 4 strikes on buildups of the enemy’s personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian rocket launchers and gunners hit 2 control points and 4 buildups of enemy personnel.

Ukrenergo reported that there is still a significant capacity deficit in the power system. Over the past week, there were three attacks: the eighth barrage of missile attacks on December 5, and two local artillery and drone attacks in the south and east of the country on the weekend.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) informs that in 2022, 67 journalists have been killed doing their work assignments. Most media workers died in Ukraine, covering a full-scale Russian invasion. According to the IFJ, these are 12 people, including photojournalist Maks Levin, Fox News Fixer Oleksandra Kuvshynova and correspondent Yevhenii Sakun. Among the dead are foreigners: Fox News cinematographer Pierre Zakrzewski, Time employee Brent Renault, French BFM TV journalist Frederic Leclair, and Lithuanian director Mantas Kvedaravičius, who was shot dead by the russian military while filming a documentary in Mariupol.

In an interview with the German TV channel ARD, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called the scenario of complete blackout in Ukraine realistic.  At the same time, the Minister said that he did not expect a mass exodus of Ukrainians from the country due to the difficult situation in winter. In his opinion, residents of cities will move to rural regions where there is an opportunity to be heated with firewood.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy shelled 12 settlements near the contact line.

Head of Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that all 518 planned boiler houses started operating. 23 routes were launched connecting the occupied cities and villages with regional and district centers. A total of 138 routes were restored. There were 16 temporary crossings on the site of the destroyed bridges. 24 bridges will be restored next year. 

The Department of the State Emergency Service informed in the morning that the fire in Hlyboke village, Kharkiv region, occurred in the afternoon. As a result of the shelling, two country houses were burning.

Yesterday the enemy shelled 12 settlements near the contact line. Dvorichna, Hatyshche, Kamianka, Ohirtseve, Okhrimivka, Starytsia, Strilecha and Volokhivka settlements suffered mortar and artillery shelling. 

The settlements near Kupiansk suffered the most from the shelling. The enemy targeted Berestove, Kotliarivka, Kyslivka and Tabaivka. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. 

According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care, in Balakliia a 58-year-old woman was injured as she stepped on an explosive ordnance. She was hospitalised in average condition. 

The humanitarian de-mining of the territories continues. Pyrotechnics defused 47 explosive ordnance.

Previous British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, congratulated Kharkiv on Christmas and thanked for courage. People’s Deputy, Mariia Mezentseva, posted the video on Instagram.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, women are taken for military service. The Kalinin District Military Commissariat in Donetsk sent 28 women for military training.

 

Ten people were injured and two killed as a result of a strike with Hurricanes in Hirnyk near Kurakhove. All the injured were taken to the hospital, the amount of destruction is being established.

The Donetsk Regional State Emergency Service reported that in Konstiantynivka, three pyrotechnics were killed during the de-mining operations. Two more specialists were injured.

At night, russians fired at different front lines.

Towards Volnovakha, Bohoiavlenka and Novoukrainka of the Vuhedar community were under enemy shelling – there were no casualties. 

Towards Donetsk, the Kurakhove community was shelled: 7 buildings in Kurakhove and an outbuilding in Kurakhivka were damaged. At night, there was shelling of Krasnohorivka and Marinka and in the morning – Soloviove of the Ocheretyne community and Avdiivka. No casualties. 

Towards Horlivka, russians injured 1 person in Konstiantynivka, targeted building and the former school.

In Bakhmut, 2 people were injured, a railway facility and a residential building damaged. 5 buildings were damaged in Vasiukivka of the Soledar community.

Towards Lysychansk, two buildings in Lyman were damaged and shelling of Torske and Zarichne continues in the community. Without casualties.

 Based on the information provided by Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, russians killed 1 civilian in Velyka Novosilka. Another 3 people were injured.

A donkey with a symbolic name Himars was rescued a few months ago by Ukrainian troops from the front line in the Kramatorsk region. In order not to endanger the life of the animal, he was evacuated and lived for some time in the Wildlife Rescue Centre of Natalia Popova and UAnimals. Now the evacuation team is taking the animal to a new family in Odesa.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, Defence Forces units repelled enemy attacks in Makiivka, Stelmakhivka and Serebrianka forestry. Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy targeted Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Nevske, Novoselivske, Pishchane, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are more than 100 enemy soldiers with injuries of different severity in the local hospital of Kreminna. 

Based on the information provided by the Luhansk RMA, at Chervonyi Partyzan underground mine near Dovzhansk, the equipment is dismantled and taken out daily. The company is being prepared for conservation. The invaders have already prepared a list of underground mines that they consider unprofitable. At the same time in Dovzhansk, mobilisation measures were intensified. The enemy is searching each apartment to find men. In Troitske, russians have deployed military equipment and are equipping firing positions near residential buildings where civilians live.

Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, said that in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast, the situation with medical care is extremely critical – the injured of moderate severity are quickly discharged and sent to the front again. The critically injured do not make it till medical institutions. According to him, captive invaders admit that when they are delivered to positions somewhere in forest belt officers order to wait half a day, while they go for provisions and ammunition but no longer return, leaving newcomers with nothing.

Journalist, Denys Kazanskyi, reported that russians changed the sign on Taras Shevchenko monument in the temporarily occupied Luhansk, calling him a “russian poet”.  He added: “What a joke”.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, arrived in Ukraine on a four-day visit. As reported in the press service of the UN Mission in Ukraine, he will meet with representatives of the authorities and humanitarian partners in Kyiv. The official also plans to make trips to Mykolaiv and de-occupied Kherson.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) opens a representative office in Kyiv. The meeting regarding the launch of the regional office of the OECD in Ukraine took place in Paris. Initially, the office will function in Kyiv until 2026, providing support to our state during recovery.

DTEK reported that stabilizing power outages continue in Kyiv and the oblast according to the updated schedule. According to the information of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the situation with electricity supply remains difficult. Restoration works are ongoing, but they are complicated by weather conditions.

The Kyiv RMA reported that in the village of Plesetsk, where debris from a russian rocket damaged about 20 houses in November, roofs are covered and new windows being installed in the damaged houses.

895 schools and kindergartens have been provided with shelters in Kyiv oblast. 81 schools work remotely due to the lack of equipped shelters. At the same time, at the request of parents, students from 35 such schools are transported to educational institutions working offline or in mixed formats.

In one of the Brovary schools, two convenient storage rooms are equipped to accommodate more than 700 children. The shelters have Wi-Fi and a generator. In addition, there are necessary supplies of water, hygiene products and first-aid kits.

The Ukrainian Women’s Guard continues to conduct training in first aid for women even during an air alert period. In the shelter, those present trained to provide first aid, apply a tourniquet, tampon the wound and evacuate the wounded to a safe place. Classes for women are conducted by a professional military medic.

The event was organized by the Kyiv RMA in cooperation with the 114th territorial defense brigade of Kyiv oblast. Training seminars for journalists and members of the publicare planned to be on a regular basis.

The Bethlehem flame of peace has arrived in Kyiv. Ukrainian scouts brought it to St. Michael’s Cathedral. The Plast spokeswoman said that the fire will be delivered by rail to all regions of Ukraine and intercepted by local plastuns to be distributed in their communities, transferred to hospitals, orphanages and local authorities.

Zhytomyr oblast

About 330 Centres of Invincibility have been deployed in Zhytomyr oblast to provide residents of communities with the most necessary things in an emergency situation. As reported by the regional military administration, all of them are equipped with generators. A medical employee is on duty at each heating point, ready to provide assistance if necessary.

More than 33K students of Zhytomyr oblast study in a usual mode, almost 84K in the mixed mode, and 19K remotely. According to the Department of Education and Science of Zhytomyr oblast, 434 schools operate in a traditional and mixed format, and 103 schools offer online education. Every school that is currently offline has a shelter set up.

In Zhytomyr, TV presenter and showman Oleksandr Pedan held an interactive meeting “Not Lectures” for families with children affected by the war. The event took place as part of the Together for Learning project of the UNICEF Children’s Fund. Oleksandr communicates with students, their parents and teachers on mine safety, mental and physical health, and education during wartime.

A gala concert and awarding of the winners of the regional youth festival-competition of patriotic song and author’s poetry Engraved by the Maidan will be held in Zhytomyr. 45 contestants from all over Zhytomyr oblast take part in the festival.

Sumy oblast

Head of the Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, informa that the occupiers attacked the Velykopysarivka community with mortars, firing 19 mines. A private house was damaged.

In the evening, the enemy opened mortar fire on the Seredyno-Buda community: there were 6 hits. Early in the morning, the enemy fired 3 more mines there.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) provided humanitarian assistance to Trostianets Hospital. Medicines and consumables in the amount of 130500 UAH were transferred to the medical institution.

According to Head of the Sumy OVA Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the assistant bot will help Sumy residents find the nearest Centre of Invincibility. A program has been created to help Ukrainians in search of points where you can warm up, get in touch and charge gadgets. Aid points near the front line are not disclosed for security reasons.

U-LEAD says that more than 200 generators and 25 autonomous street illuminators were received by 22 communities of Sumy oblast, which are most affected by shelling – Sumy, Okhtyrka, Shostka and Konotop. Generators are already used in hospitals and heating points, they ensure the operation of social infrastructure in communities.

Mayor Oleh Stohniy says that the city of Romny begins a partnership with the Italian municipality of Montreal. Among the areas of future cooperation are agriculture, the processing industry, culture, education, health care, environmental protection, and work with young people.

It is reported by the volunteer center Shostka – Dobro that a local family brings their own bread to the volunteer center every day to send it to the soldiers. “These people do not shout about their good deed, but simply bring boxes of freshly baked bread every day,” the volunteers commented.

Chernihiv oblast

Head of Chernihiv RMA Vyacheslav Chaus reported that due to weather conditions, the builders cannot quickly establish a convenient route from Chernihiv to Kyiv. Currently, the timing of the resumption of traffic through the crossings is unknown. You will have to take an alternative route to get to the capital.

The police of the Chernihiv oblast reported that as a result of the driver’s failure to control the vehicle a shuttle bus collided with a roadblock construction near Chernihiv. All 7 passengers received injuries of varying degrees and were hospitalized, the driver was also injured. Criminal proceedings have been opened.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that France will hand over three more prefabricated bridges to Chernihiv oblast. Currently, three structures from the French company Matiere are in Romania. They should arrive in the oblast this week. Previously, Chernihiv oblast received three bridges from France: their installation is to be completed by the end of the year.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that over 8K unemployed people have found a job in Chernihiv oblast over the past 11 months. Also, about 2K residents were involved in public and other works, and another 1,500 provided with vocational training. In general, the situation on the labor market is difficult: in January-November 2022, there were three times less vacancies than the number of unemployed citizens.

In Chernihiv, the Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky Museum-Reserve is home to the “Good Mood Workshop”. Various activities like making original New Year’s decorations are held in a specially equipped Christmas chamber. 

Chernihiv musicians released a jazz mini-album “Music under Siege”. The names of the compositions reproduce the chronology of the events of February and March 2022. The album is dedicated to the hero city of Chernihiv, its defenders and residents.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

 According to Head of the Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, the occupiers attacked the Nikopol region several times overnight. They hit the Marganets community and Nikopol. There were about thirty shells from heavy artillery, Hurricanes and Hrads. 

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko informed that the humanitarian cargo from Dnipropetrovsk oblast is already in Kherson oblast. The residents of the Kochubey community received help. Food was also handed over to the communities of Visokopilla and Beryslav, which are recovering from the occupation

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informed about Generation of Invincibles: UA: student projects were implemented in the schools of Vinnytsia community to support children and youth affected by military actions. In two months, they organized almost 160 events for psychological relief and establishing communication between peers. Children participated in art therapy, artistic team building, master classes and training. They cooked, relaxed with fairy-tale therapy, and even tried to voice the characters of their favorite cartoons.  More than 5,700 students participated, including 900 IDPs. 

Eight projects are planned to be implemented in Vinnytsia within the Ukraine Recovery Program. The government distributed the subsidy from the state budget to the local government to implement projects within the program in accordance with the Financial Agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank.

Kirovohrad oblast

Mayor of Oleksandria, Serhii Kuzmenko, informed that  local educators transferred UAH 418K to buy rehabilitation equipment for military personnel recovering in the regional hospital. The charity campaign in support of the Armed Forces began in November.  The employees of the education sector, which involves schools, kindergartens and extracurricular educational institutions, joined the initiative.

A humanitarian center for internally displaced mothers with babies was opened in Kropyvnytskyi. Three volunteers work there. Norwegian volunteers transfer aid to Ukrainians either using the Sunflowers Ukraine initiative or directly.

Poltava oblast

 The military received  over 10K periscopes from Kremenchuk’s Rear Brigade.  To date, they have handed over 10K units of aid to the military.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, ​​the city authority will compensate for the cost of a generator. About a hundred houses in Cherkasy are looking for an alternative to individual heating points not to depend on electricity.

The gymnasium of the Ekaterinopil region purchased a welding machine for the Armed Forces unit.The institution has been actively helping the Ukrainian army since 2014, collecting products and funds for various needs of the Armed Forces, and holding charity fairs. The welding machine was purchased for UAH 12K thanks to joint efforts. The seller made a significant discount for the Armed Forces, and not only staff joined in the fundraising.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not undergone significant changes. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions.

The occupiers shelled the civilian infrastructure in the settlements of Olhivske, Malynivka, Shevchenko, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Dorozhnianka, Charivne, Temyrivka, Bilohiria, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka, Plavni, Pavlivka. The police received 12 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

The russian occupiers continue the forced passporting of the population on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. These measures are ongoing in the Melitopol region. Ukrainian hryvnias are gradually withdrawn from trade networks, the population is forced to switch to russian rubles.

The occupiers are also trying to financially encourage the local population to collaborate, providing cash assistance to pensioners in the amount of 10K rubles and charging a higher salary to local residents who are loyal to the occupiers and agreed to work for them.

The Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov announced that a base of the FSB special unit, the radar military unit and the checkpoint were eliminated in the Melitopol region on December 10 as a result of missile attacks on the positions of the russian occupiers. 

Mykolaiv oblast

On December 11, around midnight, the troops of the aggressor country once again shelled the settlement of the Kutsurub community, Ochakiv region. Currently, it is known about the destruction and damage of residential and farm buildings, and social infrastructure facilities. Full information on damage and victims is being verified.

Cable TV and Internet providers have restored access to networks in the Sonyachny microdistrict in Snihurivka. Some users have the opportunity to use Internet and cable TV services.

Odesa oblast

The Port of Odesa is back up and running after an enemy attack by Iranian drones on the city’s energy facilities. Odesa’s port was closed after russian shelling left 1.5 million people in the city without power supply. In total, russia launched 15 Iranian-made drones over Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts over the weekend. 10 drones were shot down.

Emergency power outages continue in Odesa city and the oblast on December 12.

Volunteers from Yuzhne handed over generators to the soldiers of the 63rd Brigade in Mykolaiv and defenders from the Yuzhne Battalion. The equipment was purchased abroad.

Kherson oblast

The enemy attacked a residential area in Kherson. It is known about 7 victims, 2 of them were killed. As a result of an enemy attack on a residential sector, a house and power lines were damaged.

On December 11, the russian occupiers shelled Kherson oblast 57 times. The enemy targeted infrastructure facilities, private and apartment buildings. 1 person was injured due to russian shelling.

According to the National Police in Kherson oblast, looting by the russian military continues in the temporarily occupied territories. Thus, the russian military looted the property of a pawn shop in the city of Nova Kakhovka. According to the owner, the approximate amount of loss is more than UAH 500K.

The Kherson RMA published a report on  infrastructure restoration in Kherson oblast. Vodafone and Lifecell specialists restored 5 base stations in Kherson. In total, mobile operators fixed 121 base and 3 mobile stations in the liberated Kherson oblast.

Gradual renewal of natural gas distribution, repair of damaged sections of networks and gas supply to consumers continue in Velyka Oleksandrivka, Novodmytrivka, Starosillia, Visokopillia, Dovgove and Mala Oleksandrivka. 36 out of 46 boiler houses have been restored in Kherson. 840 out of 1,156 residential buildings have been connected to centralized heat supply.

Volyn oblast

Residents of Lutsk can receive compensation for purchased generators in the amount of 50%, but no more than UAH 40K per apartment building.

The Swiss company Nestlé is investing 40 million francs in a new production of pasta in Volyn. The new production facility will employ 1,5K people.

Zakarpattia oblast

On the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, the Bethlehem fire of peace arrived in Zakarpattia. Ukrainian plastuns received it from Slovak scouts. Then this symbol of love, unity and warmth will be taken to all oblasts of the country.

Mayor Bohdan Andriiv met with the chief rabbi of Uzhgorod and Zakarpattia, Menakhem Mendel Vilhelm, and his wife, Rabanit Sara Vilhelm. They discussed the life of Jews during the war.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In Ivano-Frankivsk, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Union of Soldiers, direct participants in the russian-Ukrainian War  from the Fighting Brotherhood of Ukraine handed over Father’s Heart commemorative charms to the children of fallen defenders of Ukraine. This event took place within the framework of the Father’s Heart project.

Lviv oblast

As of December 12, the limits established by the power system controller for Lviv oblast cover about 55% of the oblast’s needs. Currently, 120 settlements in the oblast are without electricity. There are 34 regional energy brigades, 146 employees, working in Lviv oblast. Also, experts involved 51 units of equipment.

In the City Council of Lviv, a meeting with Karl Calenda, senator of the Italian Republic, leader of the social-liberal party Azione was held. They discussed the project for developing the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center in Lviv.

Head of the Lviv RMA, Maksym Kozytskyi, announced that the CF CORE Response will finance a number of projects in Lviv oblast for over a million dollars.

20 pickup trucks and 3 hummers were transferred from Lviv oblast to the front line within the initiative 1 000_Freedom_Cars. They were purchased by one of the largest American CFs,  Help Heroes Of Ukraine, which was created by Ukrainians in Chicago after the war began. In two days, these cars will be on the first line of defense.

Representatives of the public organization Strength. Glory. Victory purchased 2 SUVs and a passenger car within the 1 000 Freedom Cars initiative. The cars were maintained and delivered to the defenders.

Within the framework of the Regional Program, the Lviv RMA, supported by the CF Happy Sun, reconstructed the Zhuravnensk House of Supported Living. UAH 7.8 million was allocated for repairs. Another 80 children from oblasts where active hostilities are ongoing will be provided with comfortable living conditions.

8 interactive rooms for IDPs will be created in cultural institutions of Lviv oblast by the end of the year. They are arranged due to cooperation of SOS Children’s Villages and the Lviv RMA.

About 20 humanitarian organizations took part in the online meeting of the child protection sub-cluster headed by UNICEF. This cluster is a forum for sharing experiences and information.

In the Drohobych region, special fake money was printed to purchase combat drones. These are buffoons with a denomination of UAH 500. 1K pieces were printed to buy a combat drone.

The city council of Lviv reported that the city has received 76 applications from residents for compensation of half the cost of a generator, of which 22 have been accepted and handed over for payment.

Rivne oblast

Deputy head of the Department of State Emergency Services in Rivne oblast, Oleksandr Mokhryk, said that there are 15 voluntary and 7 mixed fire brigades in the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

There are 17 mobile and stationary heating stations in Ternopil, where everyone can warm up, drink tea, charge electrical devices and use the Internet.

The winter holidays for students in Ternopil oblast will be extended and last a month.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In the RMA, a meeting of the Coordinating Council on issues of family, gender equality, demographic development, prevention and combating domestic violence and combating human trafficking was held.

A regional representative office of the Consultation Center of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights was opened in Khmelnytskyi.

Chernivtsi oblast

For conscientious performance of duty and significant achievements in military service, the well-known Chernivtsi musician Sasha Bul received the Honorary Badge of the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine For Service.

 International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Head of Foreign Ministry of Slovakia, Rastyslav Kacher, stated that the country is ready to transfer its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. Preparations for this may begin in the coming weeks.

The Ministry of Defense of France reported that the country transferred six 155-mm towed TRF1 howitzers to Ukraine.

The Swedish government approved the 9th aid package for Ukraine. It includes air defense and winter ammunition.

The Government of the Slovak Republic approved another package of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of over €10 million. It includes generators, winter ammunition, power plants, transformers, mine clearance systems, kits, ballistic vests and other military aid.

The European Commission increases the financial limit of the peace fund by €2 billion for the next year. This will allow the European Commission to continue providing military support to partner armies.

After a meeting with President of Germany Shtainmaier, President of Poland Duda stated that Poland and Germany  will begin work on the deployment of German anti-aircraft missile systems Patriot on the border with Ukraine in the coming days.

Training for Ukrainian medics to evacuate wounded military personnel and civilians from the combat zone using helicopters is starting in Poland. Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland, Yatsek Sieviera, noted that Poland supports Ukraine in creation and development of helicopter rescue service units.

In the city of Koshyts in the east of Slovakia, a base for the repair of military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun functioning.

An office of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will be opened in Ukraine to help rebuild the country. Tentatively, the office will operate until 2026. This organization was a co-executor of the Marshal Plan and now helps in the development of the Recovery Plan of Ukraine.

A “sanctions compliance supervisor” will appear in the EU. The supervisor will monitor the implementation of restrictions introduced by the countries.

The EU Council of Foreign Ministers adopted a resolution condemning Iran’s supply of weapons to russia used in the war against Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic stated that the country employs thousands of Ukrainian specialists to increase production of weapons.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had a phone conversation with President of the US, Joseph Biden. They discussed aid to Ukraine.

Deputy UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Hriffits arrived in Ukraine. In Kyiv, he will meet with representatives of the authorities and humanitarian partners. Martin Griffiths also plans to make trips to Mykolaiv and the liberated Kherson.

The First Lady of Ukraine arrived to France on an official visit. On the very first day in Paris, Olena Zelenska met with First lady of France, Brigitte Macron.

In Spain the second shift at the Gen.Camp children’s rehabilitation camp has started. The founder of the camp is the public organization Gen.Ukrainian, aimed at treating children’s psychological injuries caused by russia’s war in Ukraine. The project is implemented under the patronage of First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs reported that the team of Brooks Westshore International School (Canada), supported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, announced a competition for students of the 9th grade (born in 2008) of fallen Ukrainian Defenders of Ukraine to study in Canada.

In New Zealand, sanctions were introduced against 23 russians and companies that support the invasion of Ukraine. The Minister of Digital Development, the General Director of the First Channel, and the Strategic Culture Fund were subject to restrictions.

The Dutch Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the European Commission to freeze Serbia’s entry into the EU due to its refusal to join the EU sanctions against the russian federation.

The District Court of Vilnius (Lithuania) allowed the Building Inspectorate to demolish the House of moscow (an unfinished building of a russian cultural institution). The court also imposed a fine on the state institution that manages the home – for each day of failure to comply with the decision, they must pay €300.
