It has been the 291th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 18.00:   

Russian occupiers are striking civilian infrastructure facilities and civilian homes by violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, traditions and customs of war.

The enemy carried out 5 airstrikes and launched over 40 MLRS attacks.

The territory of Ukraine is still under a threat of missile strikes and UAV attacks against the energy system facilities and critical infrastructure.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not changed significantly. There are no signs of forming the enemy’s offensive groups.

Towards Sloboda, the enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Strilecha, Krasne, Starytsa, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, Ambarne, Dvorichanske, Fiholivka, Dvorichna, and Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupoansk and Lyman, the enemy inflicted fire damage near the settlements of Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske, and Chervonpopivka, Luhansk oblast and Terny, Kolodyazi, Zarichne, Dibrova, and Yakovlivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, the enemy continues to make attempts to break the defense of our troops. Areas of twenty-six settlements were hit with tanks and artillery. Among them are Verkhniokamianske, Vasyukivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Avdiivka, Opytne, Krasnohorivka and Maryinks, Donetsk oblast. The occupiers also carried out an airstrike near Klischiivka.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy is on the defensive and shells our positions with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery near the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Zolota Nyva, Pavlivka and Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, Vremivka, Donetsk oblast and Temyrivka, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Dorozhnyanka, Orihiv, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Lobkovo and Plavna, Zaporizhzhia oblast were affected by enemy fire.

Towards Kherson, the occupiers shelled Havrylivka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Zmiivka, Beryslav, Ivanivka, Zelenivka, Inzhenerne, Antonivka and Dniprovske, and the city of Kherson.

Russian leadership continues to forcibly provide russian passports to the population of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, specifically in Melitopol region, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Ukrainian hryvnias are gradually withdrawn from the circulation of trade networks. Locals are forced to switch to russian rubles.

The occupiers are also trying to financially encourage locals to collaborate, providing cash assistance to pensioners in the amount of 10,000 rubles and charging a higher salary to loyal local residents who agreed to work at the institutions of the so-called occupying power.

Ukrainian aviation has carried out 5 strikes on areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated. Units of rocket troops and artillery at the same time hit 7 control points, 10 personnel buildup areas, an artillery area and an enemy ammunition depot.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Shmyhal, following a barrage of missile strikes, all heating and hydroelectric stations in Ukraine have been affected. 40% of high-voltage grids were also battered to various degree. There is a significant power shortage in the energy system of Ukraine.  

Head of Luhansk RMA Serhii Haidai noted that drafting locals into military service was intensified in the occupied territory of Luhansk region. “In Khrustalne, there have been more patrols checking identification documents of men, issuing draft notices and taking locals to the rallying points”, stated Haidai. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least 15 settlements were hit by Russians in Kupiansk and Sloboda directions.

Regional Department of State Emergency Service reported that in the morning of December 11, a trolleybus burned down, which was to operate on route №24. The driver received burns of hands.

Director of the centre, Tetiana Dzhurylo, informed that food is brought to the wards of the districts which cannot reach the points of free hot lunches on their own. In Nemyshlia region, lunches are delivered daily to almost 100 people from 800 wards. 

Rescue Regional Department said that during a fire in Lisne settlement an employee of an eco-park was killed.

Chuhuiv, Izium, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts were shelled by the invaders. Specifically, Berestove, Cherniakiv, Chuhunivka, Dvorichna, Krokhmalne, Kyslivka, Ohirtseve, Pishchane, Ridkodub, Starytsia, Strilecha, Tabaivka, Varvarivka, Zapadne and Zelene settlements were targeted. 

As a result of shelling in Podlyman village, Izium district, a 60-year-old man was injured. The victim was hospitalised in critical condition in a medical facility.

Humanitarian de-mining continues. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service defused 312 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff reported that Defence Forces units repelled russian attacks near 11 settlements. Meanwhile, russian troops launched three rocket and 17 airstrikes, also shelled more than 60 times with MRLs.

In Pokrovsk community, there are ten Invincibility Centres, located in different parts of the city. Due to constant blackouts, some of the centres have heating issues.

Russian troops shelled Kurakhove with Urahan MRLs in the afternoon. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties among the civilians. Konstiantynivka was also under rocket attack. As a result of the shelling, one civilian was injured. In total, there were three powerful explosions in the city today.

In Donetsk direction, 1 person was injured in Maksimilianivka of Marinka community. Hryhorivka, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka were also targeted. Russians hit an enterprise in Kurakhove community and Avdiivka. Avdiivka was chaotically shelled throughout the night. The aftermath is being clarified.

In Horlivka direction, 1 person was injured and 1 apartment building damaged in Bakhmut. 4 private buildings were damaged in Soledar community: 1 in Paraskoviivka and 3 in Rozdolivka. Bakhmutske, Yakovlivka and the outskirts of Soledar were intensely shelled. It was loud in Chasiv Yar community. There were no casualties.

Towards Lysychansk, there were more than 50 hits in Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community. The scope of destruction is being established.

 Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that yesterday russians injured 2 civilians in Bakhmut and Maksymilianivka.

Luhansk oblast

Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, confirmed that as a result of hitting Zhdanov Guest House hotel in occupied Kadiivka, there were numerous losses among “Wagner soldiers”. According to him, in addition to the victims of the hit, there can be “delayed” deaths of the injured due to poor medicine and logistics.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Defence Forces units of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in Andriivka, Bilohorivka, Chervonopopivka, Novoselivse and Zhytlivka. The invaders shelled Dibrova, Makiivka, Nevske, Novoiehorivka, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka in Kupiansk and Lyman directions.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that the invaders in Khrustalne, Milove and Sorokyne are forcibly mobilising men. In Sievierodonetsk they offer to buy coal and fir-needles firewood.

According to head of Luhansk RMA, Serhii Haidai, the Armed Forces eliminated almost the entire professional russian army. Near Kreminna and Svatove, Ukrainian troops have some success. He added that the residents of Luhansk oblast are sent to the front. There are frequent cases where officers leave them there.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Yasno CEO Serhii Kovalenko reports that the average time of power outages has decreased over the past 2 weeks. In addition, there have been significantly fewer houses in which power outage lasts for more than 10 hours. The updated schedules are currently being tested in the capital.

The police of Kyiv oblast organized additional places for heating and rest of citizens during emergency power outages in Boryspil, Brovary, Bucha, Vyshhorod and Obukhiv districts. Anyone can get help there.

Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of Kyiv RMA reported that high-rise buildings, destroyed by russians, are being renovated. In Hostomel, Borodianka, and Bucha, construction crews are working to repair roofs, install  windows and doors so that the residents can live in them in the cold season. The housing and social fund is also being restored in other settlements of oblast.

In total, 1,610 high-rise buildings were damaged and destroyed in Kyiv oblast. Currently, more than 500 of them have been restored while more than 300 are being repaired. Private residential buildings are also being repaired in the region. Over 2,500 have been restored, and work is underway on more than 400.

Kyiv RMA informed that demining of territories continues in Kyiv oblast. Since the beginning of pyrotechnics work, 75,442 explosive objects have been detected and neutralized. In the last day alone, 15 explosive objects were defused in the city of Bucha and the village of Kopyliv, Bucha region. 23 people and 6 pieces of equipment were involved in the work.

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches on the territory of the Desert Mykolaiv Hermitage of the UOC MP, which is located in the Chernobyl zone. Law enforcement officers found 16 men, who were at the facility illegally. The special service checks whether detainees were involved in crimes against state security.

In Tarascha community, housing has been arranged for displaced persons living on the territory of the Geriatric Boarding House in the village of Chernyn with the help of the international humanitarian agency “Oxfam” and the All-Ukrainian public organization “Women’s Consortium of Ukraine” . Since the war began, Taraschan community has welcomed over 20,000 forced migrants. Now more than 8,000 live in the community.

The “Kyivteploenergo” motor transport division received stoves from the “Day by Day” International Charitable Foundation. Every day, the repairmen of the unit ensure the operation of dozens of special vehicles in all districts of the capital, work on emergency repairs of city heat networks, heat and electricity generation facilities.

Zhytomyr oblast

As part of the “Recovery Army” project, socially useful works were organized in Zhytomyr oblast. 25 unemployed people from five communities of the region are involved. They are engaged in preparing structures of civil protection and gathering firewood.

The award “For services to the city of Zhytomyr” was given to Swiss citizen Alexander Lüchinger. From the first days of the war, Alexander, having secured the support of European government officials, organized free transfer, treatment and accommodation of children with cancer and their families to the Swiss Confederation.

Sumy oblast

According to head of the Sumy MRA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, on December 10, the russian military twice attacked the border areas of Sumy oblast. Two communities in the north of the region were affected.

The enemy shelled Znob-Novgorod community with mortars. 10 explosions were recorded. The shelling took place during the funeral procession, the yard and the road near the house of the deceased were targeted.

The occupiers shelled Seredino-Budsk community with barrel artillery. 5 strikes were recorded.

Rescuers provided assistance to the residents of the Velyka Pysarivka community, hit by enemy shelling a few days ago. This was reported to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. A private household was partially cleared from the rubbles. Windows and doors have been restored in four houses.

Sumy RMA reported that German volunteers, representatives of the charity organization “International Lions”, engaged in providing medical aid to Ukraine, came to Sumy oblast with the required medical equipment. Volunteers brought an ultrasound device, an electrocardiograph, patient monitors, sterilization devices, tactical first-aid kits and ultrasonic scalpels.

The Lithuanian charitable foundation “1K” handed over a car to the soldiers of Sumy oblast. Representatives of the Sumy charitable foundation “Mira Help” delivered the car. The vehicle is intended for the needs of the 211th separate special battalion, which consists mostly of residents of Sumy oblast and serves in one of the hot spots.

Bilopillia entrepreneurs provided a Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV to one of the border units in Sumy oblast. This was reported in the Eastern Regional Office of the State Security Service of Ukraine. A Jeep Cherokee emergency response SUV and a modern German Mercedes Evobus were sent to the soldiers from Mykolaivka by benefactors from the Bilopol region.

Chernihiv oblast

“Native Semenivka” community advised that Gymnasium students from the border village of Semenivka sent trench candles to the defenders at the front. Students managed to personally communicate with the military, who in turn treated kids with sweets.

A volunteer from Chernihiv oblast received the “Golden Heart” award from the President of Ukraine. Since the full-scale war began, Oleh Bibikov and his team helped civilians and military with food, provided humanitarian aid, and later began to restore damaged houses.

According to Nizhyn City Council, the Belgian city of Wachtebeke organized a charity fair to collect necessary items for the residents of its sister city Nizhyn. Belgians brought warm clothes and heaters for the residents of Nizhyn. Residents from the municipality of Lokhristi also joined this campaign. They donated funds for the Ukrainians in addition to warm clothes.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, russian terror of the civilian population continues. At night, there were 6 enemy attacks on Nikopol region. The enemy hit the Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities with heavy artillery and Hrad MRLS. The occupiers hit residential buildings. In Chervonohryhorivka TC, a dozen and a half private houses and 4 farm buildings, 6 cars and a trailer, and gas stoves were battered. Fifty solar panels were also damaged. About 9,000 families were left without electricity due to power lines damage in three settlements of the community.

As for Nikopol a canteen, administrative and office buildings, a dozen private houses and two farm buildings were battered there. 

Travelers from Dnipro and Kharkiv, Anton and Artem, who are walking across European countries to raise money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have covered half of the planned route. In total, they are going to cover 1,300 kilometers.

 Vinnytsia oblast

The mobile exhibition project “Modern Army through the Prism of the Past” is being presented in Vinnytsia. They aim to show ties between generations of fighters for freedom from tyranny and the Independence of Ukraine, which unites the modern Ukrainian army with generations who fought for the same ideals in the past.

The Department of Emergency Situations in Vinnytsia oblast reported that Emergency services of Vinnytsia organized a Safety Day for adults and children for the second time. This time, the educational event was held at the “Podillia City” shopping center. Within a few hours, everyone who visited the shopping center that day had the opportunity to gain knowledge on mine and fire safety, first aid, radiation protection, and also learned how to render psychological first aid in emergency situations. The main purpose of such events is to teach children and adults the rules of life, safety and the algorithm of actions in dangerous situations, especially in contemporary conditions.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Oleksandria, 58,000 hryvnias were collected for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the charity exhibition-auction “Life against the odds”. According to the mayor of Oleksandriia, Serhii Kuzmenko, 15 artists who are among the “golden hundred” photo artists of Ukraine submitted 30 photos of paintings for sale. The funds will be used to purchase walkie-talkies or thermal imagers for the 57th separate brigade, where residents of the city serve.

Poltava oblast

A charitable race “I believe in the AFU” took place in Kremenchuk. Adults and children from Kremenchuk participated and helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Zaporizhzhia military administration reported that the defenders of Zaporizhzhia oblast hold the borders and give a worthy rebuff to the russian occupation troops. According to the National Police, russian occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in 12 settlements over the past day. There were 8 reports of destruction of civilian houses and infrastructure due to shelling by russian soldiers. The area of occupiers’ concentration in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region was confirmed to have been hot. Thus, up to 150 invaders were wounded, and 50 of them were hospitalized in Melitopol. The information about the liquidation is being specified.

Civilians were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. 48 people were evacuated, 10 of them are children.

Enerhoatom reported that on December 10, the occupied nuclear power plant had to disconnect one of the thousandth power units (VVER-1000) from the power grid, which is now connected. “Renovation repair of another VVER-1000 power unit, damaged as a result of shelling of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on 23 November 2022, is also coming to an end. In the coming days, it will also be connected to the grid”, Energoatom added. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, head of the Military Administration, said that last night the russians struck the open territory of Kutsurubska community with MLRS.  

The inspection of the liberated territories of Mykolaiv oblast continues. According to the head of the regional police Serhiy Shaykhet, every day during stabilization measures, documenting war crimes and collecting the necessary evidence base, the police find places and evidence of the presence of russian occupiers in the liberated settlements. “Broken enemy equipment was found, weapons caches, mined forest strips and other signs of the presence of russian military police in the de-occupied territories were discovered,” Shaikhet said. He also noted that police explosive experts have already defined 47 hectares of the liberated territories and seized 4 720 combustible items.

During the week from December 4 to 11, the russian army attacks on the territory of Mykolaiv oblast damaged 190 civilian objects. The housing stock suffered the most. According to the Mykolaiv regional military administration, 117 residential buildings, 45 non-military buildings, 27 life support facilities, and one educational institution were damaged during the week. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russian troops in Ukraine, 14053 civilian facilities have been partially or completely damaged in Mykolaiv oblast.

Odesa oblast

The security situation in the region. 10 russian warships were on combat duty in the Black Sea. No missile carrier was spotted among them. The spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, reported that the likelihood of missile strikes and attacks by Iranian kamikaze drones, especially on the energy infrastructure of Odesa oblast, remains high. He also said that yesterday the military of neighboring Romania eliminated one of the sea mines that the russian occupiers have scattered in the Black Sea since the beginning of the great invasion of Ukraine. This is the fourth mine that Romanian specialists have destroyed off their shores since March.

Last night, russians attacked Odesa with Iranian drones. “Due to the attack, 1.5 million people were left without electricity,” President Zelenskyy noted. Currently, emergency power outages continue in Odesa, and the blast after the attack by enemy drones on the energy infrastructure. However, electricity is gradually returning to consumers. Now 300 thousand people are without electricity, said Maksym Marchenko, Head of the Military Administration.

Kherson oblast

Head of the Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevych said that at night russian occupiers shelled a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson region. As a result of the enemy attack, a fire broke out over an area of 30 square meters. Rescuers immediately arrived at the scene. They managed to quickly eliminate the fire. The russian shelling destroyed 3 service vehicles and damaged the hangar and 5 other vehicles. In total, russian occupiers shelled the territory of Kherson oblast 45 times. They fired from artillery, MLRS, tanks, and mortars. Residential areas of Kherson were attacked again. Russian shells hit the maternity ward of the hospital, a cafe, an infrastructure facility, and private and apartment buildings. Due to the russian shelling, 2 people were killed, and 5 more residents of Kherson region received injuries of varying severity.

Medics continue to evacuate patients from Kherson: elderly people and those suffering from serious illnesses. According to the press service of Kherson City Council, rapid response units of the Red Cross of Ukraine have been evacuating patients from the medical institutions of Kherson oblast for the fourth day in a row. Already 70 patients are in safer places, as far away from explosions and danger as possible. Three Rapid Response Units of the Red Cross of Ukraine are involved in evacuation.

The occupiers destroyed one of the largest poultry farms in the region and killed almost 4 million birds. Thus, in March 2022, as a result of an attack by the russian army, the power supply was damaged in one of the most modern and largest poultry farms located in Chornobaivka. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Due to the power outage, the employees of the enterprise were unable to feed the birds and maintain sanitary conditions. This led to the mass death of chickens, which before the russian invasion at the factory numbered more than 4 million. Now law enforcement officers were able to get to the place after liberation and found the place of burial of the dead birds on the territory of the poultry farm – a pit about 3 m deep and 1 thousand 880 square meters. Some of the dead birds remained in the poultry houses. This could provoke bacterial contamination of a large area. Experts have already taken the necessary samples to determine the impact of russian aggression on the environment. Prosecutors are now opening criminal proceedings over the mass destruction of wildlife, which may cause an environmental disaster under Article 441 (ecocide) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In Lutsk, a round table as part of the project Barrier-free society as an element of mutual respect between people and a guarantee of community development was held. The project was implemented thanks to the support of the US Agency for International Development and the Hoverla project.

The General Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk sent material and technical equipment, namely means of communication, fire-rescue equipment and special tools, to Buchatsk rescuer.

In Volyn, they plan to increase the amount of food compensation for blood donors. Since 2015, this amount has been UAH 50, but due to the increase in food prices, this amount of food compensation for donors does not cover expenses.

Zakarpattia oblast

Severodonetsk Spiders is a volunteer initiative that weaves camouflage nets for the military. Mostly internally displaced people from Severodonetsk participate in the initiative. The oldest volunteer, Mrs. Maria, is 84 years old and the youngest is four years old.

In Zakarpattia, the building of the Center for Social Support of Children and Families Domashnie Teplo is being renovated. This institution was created by the Horinchivsk Territorial Community in Nizhnii Bystryi for children from socially vulnerable and low-income families.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that for the needs of servicemen of the 102nd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 249 tire, worth almost UAH 1 million, were sent to defenders.

Warm clothes for Ukrainian defenders were brought to the Consultative Center under the Kalusk District Military Administration from the Olkutsk County of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship of Poland. The soldiers received thermal clothing, fleece jackets, hats, mittens, raincoats, sleeping bags, coffee and tea.

The RMA reported that the Polish system Ptakh provides free buses for evacuation of residents of Ukraine from the Main Railway Station of Lviv abroad.

Lviv oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with representatives of the CF CORE Response was held. They discussed the support of the most vulnerable categories of the population who ended up in Lviv oblast due to the full-scale war.

German doctors from Hanover sent an ambulance, an ultrasound machine and other equipment and medicines to the Sheptytskyi hospital. Hanover residents also sent gifts from St. Nicholas for children to the Lviv Orphan Care Center.

In Porokhova Vezha, a charity exhibition and auction titled Student designers of Lviv for the Armed Forces was held. To help the army, students of Lviv Polytechnic and Lviv National Academy of Arts created over 70 unique design works. Over UAH100K collected will be sent to the needs of the military.

Next year, the International Rehabilitation Forum will be held in Lviv. The American humanitarian organization Direct Relief will join the organization of the event.

Rivne oblast

From December 12, 2022, the free service Electronic Border Crossing Queue for cargo vehicles will start functioning at the international automobile checkpoint Yagodin-Dorohusk” on the border with Poland. eCherha will automatically send a notification to the driver’s phone with the approximate time of crossing the border.

The Rivne NPP was visited by Myroslava Honhadze, a well-known journalist and representative of the largest American multimedia network Voice of America. The purpose of her visit is to learn how Ukrainian nuclear power plants work and to convey information about the situation in Ukraine to the world.

Ternopil oblast

300 pairs of winter shoes were sent from Ternopil for defenders from the Territorial Defense, currently protecting Ukraine on the front lines. Over 3K pairs are planned to be sewn and will be sent.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ternopil oblast is one of the oblasts where outage schedules are most often used.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Since November 26, 1 216 people have arrived in the oblast by evacuation trains from Kherson.

50 pallets of household sets and 105 water containers were handed over to IDPs from Kherson oblast. Aid was provided by the CF UNICEF.

Chernivtsi oblast

Head of the Chernivtsi RMA, Ruslan Zaparanyuk, reported that Ukrenergo increased the power for Chernivtsi over from the limit of 152 MW on December 10 to 172 MW on December 11.

The RMA reported that in Bukovyna, 49 families of displaced people received household appliances, namely, refrigerators, washing machines, slow cookers, microwaves and kettles. This is about those who live in family-type children’s homes, foster families and families of guardians.

 International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Jaroslav Nagy, announced that Slovakia transferred infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.

The Council of the EU agreed to provide Ukraine with EUR 18 billion of aid during 2023. The European Parliament should vote for it next week. This money will be used to ensure macroeconomic stability and restore critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

Germany will provide Ukraine with over 470 generators of various capacities for EUR 19.5 million. 150 generators are already in Ukraine.

Germany will send 36.5K woolen blankets to Ukraine. These blankets were intended for the German military, but they will be given to the Armed Forces.

Turkey is ready to send to different ports of Romania three or four vessels of the Khan class, which will produce electricity for Ukraine and Moldova. One such station can provide electricity to almost a million households.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron. They discussed implementation of the ten-step peace formula, cooperation on defense and energy stability of Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksiy Makeev, announced that during direct negotiations, the German government guaranteed to supply Ukraine with more weapons and ammunition.

Boris Johnson called for the transfer of necessary weapons to Ukraine to end the war in 2023. He declared that the war can only end with the defeat of putin.

Belarusians began to be asked additional questions when issuing a residence permit in Lithuania. Lithuania asks the citizens of belarus how they feel about the aggression of the russian federation, whether they support it, and other similar questions.

In Oslo, the Nobel Peace Prize to the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties Oleksandra Matviychuk was awarded.

The movie Mariupolis 2 by the Lithuanian author Mantas Kvedaravicius became the best documentary film of the year according to the version of the European Film Academy. Mantas Kvedaravichyus was killed by the russian military during the filming. Relatives and colleagues of Mantas continues working on the movie. 

After February 24, over 1.3 million people around the world started learning Ukrainian on the Duolingo language learning platform. The largest increase in the number of people willing to master Ukrainian was recorded in Irelandz, immediately by 2 229%. The data is based on information about over 500 million users.
