War in Ukraine today: latest news, December 10, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 290 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

During the day, the enemy carried out 15 airstrikes and over 15 MLRS attacks.

At night, the enemy attacked the energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions with Iranian attack UAV “Shakhed-136”. 10 out of 15 UAVs were intercepted.

Ukraine is still under the threat of the enemy launching missile strikes on the facilities of the energy system and critical infrastructure.

The republic of belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, and provides infrastructure for training of enemy units.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of enemy offensive groups formation were detected.

Towards Sloboda, the enemy fired from mortars and barrels at the areas of Zelene, Starytsa, Ohirtseve, Varvarivka, Chuhunivka, Dvorichna and Ridkodub settlements, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the areas of Kislivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Krokhmalne, Berestove, Kharkiv oblast were shelled; Terny, Donetsk oblast and Ploshchanka, Dibrova, Makiivka, Nevske and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, the enemy continues to make attempts to break the defense of Ukrainian troops. They fired at the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of over twenty settlements. Among them are Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Vesele, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, Zalizne and Avdiivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Novopavlivsk, the enemy is on the defensive. They shelled our positions with tanks, mortars, barrels and rockets near the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Prechystivka and Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy shelled over 15 settlements, specifically Zelene Pole, Vremivka, Donetsk oblast and Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne and Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia.

Towards Kherson, the enemy shelled a number of settlements in the Kherson region close to the front line from artillery. The city of Kherson and its outskirts suffered another fire damage.

To counteract numerous cases of desertion in units of the russian forces in Luhansk region, messages are being sent to subscribers of the Lugacom mobile network with a warning about criminal liability for leaving the places of service and permanent deployment points of military units.

It was confirmed that the occupiers’ buildup in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhia region was struck. Up to 150 invaders were injured, 50 of them were hospitalised in the city of Melitopol. The information about liquidated ones is being clarified.

At the checkpoints around the city of Berdiansk, counter-sabotage measures have been reinforced. The number of russian servicemen has increased and civilians are being checked more thoroughly. People without local registration are not allowed into the city.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, in the city of Horlivka, since December 8 the occupation authorities offer representatives of small and medium-sized businesses to switch to remote work mode due to the increased risk of shelling allegedly by the Defense Forces of Ukraine. To intimidate local residents, the russian occupiers fired four 152-mm artillery rounds downtown.

Units of the missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 7 control points, 6 personnel buildup areas, an artillery concentration area, and an enemy ammunition depot.

Human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets informed that 150 Ukrainian citizens are kept in the Olenivka colony. Not only military men, but also civilians locked up there. “We can get access to the Olenivka colony only when the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberates Olenivka”, stated Lubinets.  

According to head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko, the police documented around 47K war crimes committed by the invaders. There are tortures, rapes, murders of civilians among them. Currently, all law enforcement officers are working on collecting the proof and evidence of war crimes and bring those russian invaders liable for the crimes to justice. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders shelled at least 17 settlements.

Spokeswoman of Kharkiv Regional Police Department, Olena Barannyk, said that at least three dozen cars were damaged by unidentified individuals overnight in Pivnichna Saltivka. The tires were slashed. Law enforcers are investigating the incident as vandalism. The owners of the damaged cars in Saltiv and Kyiv districts filed complaints.

Since the morning of December 10, the state security officers have been searching  Kharkiv churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). Eyewitnesses reported about the presence of people with identification marks of the Security Service of Ukraine on the territory of the churches. They were noticed on the territory of the Pokrovskyi Monastery Cathedral in downtown Kharkiv. Spokesman of the SSO Department in Kharkiv oblast, Vladyslav Abdula, confirmed the security measures in the churches to Suspilne journalists at 14 locations.

Borove Village Council reported that the invaders shelled the base of a farm in Pidlyman village. An employee was injured. Agricultural machinery and the farm roof were damaged as a result of the shelling.

The territory of the Chuhuiv observation station of Karazin University is located near Ivanivka village, 70 kilometers away from Kharkiv. The astronomers’ base was under occupation since the first days of the war. Russian troops settled in the building where the scientists lived. They robbed the scientists and smashed the equipment. According to the head of the observation station, Oleksandr Holubaiev, scientists’ losses are enormous. It will take at least 5 years to renovate the station. In case of absence of hostilities and available funding, otherwise it may take decades.

Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that Kupiansk district remains under intense shelling, volunteers and local authorities continue voluntary evacuation. In December, 290 people had already been evacuated.

Donetsk oblast

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the situation is very difficult in the key front line areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblast, Bakhmut, Kreminna, Marinka and Soledar.

The Eastern Group of Forces Сouncillor, Serhii Cherevatyi, reported that russian servicemen are trying to break the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the east every day, using aviation and MRLs. They are changing combat tactics, instead of classical battalions, and are creating assault units.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriuschenko, reported that the invaders destroy at least one apartment building every day. In total, more than 30 buildings have already been dismantled. He also said that according to sources, 28K applications for accommodation were filed by people under occupation, instead 7.6K people were put in the queue. The Mayor’s Councillor noted that others were denied for bureaucratic reasons.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled enemy attacks near 13 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts yesterday. Russian soldiers shelled them with tanks, mortars and multi-caliber artillery.

The night in Donetsk oblast was relatively calm, however different frontline areas were targeted.

Towards Volnovakha, 3 buildings were damaged in Vuhledar. Moreover, Novoukrainka was shelled yesterday. There were no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, it was loud in Kurakhove community. Russians fired at Hirnyk, Izmailivka and Kurakhove by damaging 17 buildings. There were no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were injured in Bakhmut. A building and a shop were damaged. There were isolated attacks on the outskirts of Soledar and Toretsk communities.

In Lysychansk direction, massive shelling of Torske and Zarichne in Lyman community continues. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that yesterday russians injured 4 civilians:  1 in Avdiivka, 2 in Bakhmut and 1 in Kostiantynivka.

The bulletproof vests for the medics of Donetsk oblast were delivered by the volunteers of the International Headquarters of Assistance to Ukrainians.

Head of the press service of Kramatorsk executive committee, Ihor Yeskov, said that in Kramatorsk, 100 apartment buildings are left without heat due to pressure drops in the network.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, up to fifty injured russian invaders were hospitalised in Kadiivka.

Enemy attacks on December 9 were repelled from Bilohorivka, Nevske and Ploschanka. Towards Kupiansk, the invaders shelled Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka with tanks, mortars, barrels and rockets. Towards Avdiivka and Lyman, russians are trying to improve the tactical situation. Specifically, towards Lyman, they attacked Chervonopopivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske and Ploschanka.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, russian attacks were repelled in Bilohorivka, Nevske and Ploshchanka, in mid-December the invaders started searching for mass graves in Lysychansk and are trying to introduce military training in schools of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” instead of holidays. Russians continue the forced integration of all spheres. Specifically entrepreneurs of the so-called “LPR”, who do not register in the unified state register of russian federation during December, will not be able to take advantage of support measures for small and medium-sized businesses. Registration is encouraged. Accordingly it is necessary to have an updated package of documents of russian standard.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that russians are trying to create a task force in Kreminna and Svatove. According to him, the Armed Forces and the National Guard do not allow the enemy to break through to Bilohorivka.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The international human rights conference “UA: Human Rights in Dark Times” was held in Kyiv. It was dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights  when the civilized world united to prevent crimes against humanity.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with the delegation of the Slovak non-governmental analytical center GLOBSEC in Kyiv. They discussed the possibility of practical involvement of GLOBSEC experts in the preparation of analytical documents on international support, primarily on speeding up the procedure of getting EU and NATO membership for Ukraine. Special attention was paid to strengthening the sanctions on russia.

Three Slovak ministers, Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic Jaroslav Nagy, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastislav Kacer and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Karel Hirman, visited Irpin. DTEK reported that a new schedule of power stabilization outages was introduced in Kyiv. This schedule implies that Kyiv residents will have electricity three times a day for two hours. The schedule was developed taking into account the difficult situation due to russian missile attacks on critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

Albanian capital plans to rebuild one of the infrastructure facilities in Irpin. The Irpin Reconstruction Summit has informed about the meeting with the Mayor of Tirana, where he made the following commitments. The delegation from Irpin visited the Urban Department of the city of Tirana, where the parties shared their experience in the reconstruction of the city.

“Let’s reveal the truth about violence” installation was presented in Solomianskyi district state administration of Kyiv. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, it was created to draw more attention to domestic violence, which has become even more acute during the war.

Since the beginning of the year, the Kyiv City Center for Gender Equality, Prevention and Counteraction to Violence has received more than 10K appeals, 2,513 of them on domestic violence, the rest on conditions due to the war, which can potentially cause violence.

It is planned to arrange shelters in the centers of physical health of the population “Sport for All” where one can stay during the air raid. This decision was adopted by deputies of the Kyiv City Council. 

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, despite the war, Brovary Central District Hospital plans to complete equipping the surgery department by the end of the year. It will have innovative equipment and will simultaneously receive 46 patients.

Anastasia Borema, Bihus.Info communicator, plans to run 30 km in a bulletproof vest in Kyiv to raise funds for a drone for the military near Bakhmut. The cost of the Matrice 300 RTK aerial reconnaissance drone is more than one million UAH. Currently, Anastasia has already managed to raise 680 thousand.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyroblenergo reported that electricity supply in Zhytomyr city and the oblast may be significantly limited due to the planned stabilization measures in the united energy grid system of Ukraine. Citizens are asked not to use elevators at this time and not to plan works requiring the use of significant amounts of electricity.

The documentary film “Fortress Mariupol. Orest” directed by Yulia Hontaruk was screened in Zhytomyr. The event took place within the International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival Docudays UA. The film is based on interviews with soldiers who were under siege in Mariupol.

A batch of 50 bicycles, collected by volunteers with the support of the European Commission representatives within the framework of the international campaign #BikesForUkraine, arrived in Zhytomyr oblast. Students of the regional center “Sunny House” and family-type orphanages that operate in the oblast received first bicycles.

Sumy oblast

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that the enemy fired 48 shells on the border areas. Shalyhine and Yunakivka communities were under mortar fire.

Russia launched a missile attack on Velyka Pysarivka community. A S-300 missile exploded in the downtown and damaged 20 private houses, an apartment building, a fire station, a bailiff’s office, a bank branch, 5 shops, and cars.

As winter sets in, the enemy is using MLRSs, “Grad” systems and large caliber mortars more often. According to Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, shelling of border communities takes place every day, recently the invaders have been targeting the centers of villages and towns more often. As a result, infrastructure facilities, power lines, water pipes were damaged, agricultural enterprises were under enemy fire.

Romny community of Sumy oblast initiates partnership with the Italian municipality of Montreal. The first online meeting of the community heads and teams from Montreal was recently held with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme. Future partners discussed steps to further establish close cooperation, participation in joint projects and EU grant programs for partner cities.

The City Council reported 23 wells were repaired and cleaned on the streets of Sumy. If water intakes are completely stopped, citizens will be able to take drinking water there. Residents of the private sector have united and are repairing wells located near their homes.

Chernihiv oblast

The Chernihiv Regional State Administration informed that the first meeting of the working group on formation of the Council of Volunteers of the oblast took place. It was about preserving and expanding the community of active citizens to jointly solve the issues of Chernihiv region in cooperation between the state and public sectors.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the oblast reported a number of border communities of Chernihiv oblast, which used to be important tourist centers, have now turned into closed zones. Together with the “Discove.ua” platform, the agency is working on creating an online Museum of War Remembrance in Chernihiv region – “War Close”. Children joined the drawing contest “I am safe with the Ministry of Internal Affairs” in Chernihiv oblast. During the event, children had the opportunity to meet the SES dog handler and her four-legged assistant. Finally, the children were given hot tea with sweets and interesting thematic souvenirs developed jointly by UNICEF and SES of Ukraine specialists.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk,  russian terror of the civilian population continues. At night, again there were 5 enemy attacks on Nikopol region. The enemy hit the Nikopol and Marhanets communities with heavy artillery. In Nikopol, two men and two women received injuries of varying severity. Two of the injured were hospitalized with mine-explosive injuries. 11 residential buildings, kindergartens, office and administrative buildings, a car wash, cars, electricity grids and gas lines were battered by enemy fire in the city.

30 veteran entrepreneurs from all over Ukraine received additional financing for their business, from 500K hryvnias to a million. Two military men from Dnipro also received money. They make special mattresses and hermobauls for the military.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informed about another humanitarian cargo from Kielce. The sister city transferred 9 tons of products to Vinnytsia. Aid will be distributed to support internally displaced families, as well as residents of frontline communities. The residents of Kielce prepared food sets for families with many children for winter holidays.

Kirovohrad oblast

Ukrposhta branches in Kirovohrad oblast began to sell “Kherson is Ukraine” stamp. This is the tenth stamp issued during martial law in Ukraine. There are 150K stamp sheets, that is 900K stamps.

Poltava oblast

In Kremenchuk, 160 internally displaced families received temporary housing. Rooms in dormitories and apartments, which are on the balance sheet of the community, were arranged for them. IDPs can live in the premises free of charge until the end of the war and for another three months after.

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Urmas Reinsalu, said that generators provided by Estonia are on their way to Poltava. In general, Estonia sent aid to four cities of Ukraine.

Cherkasy oblast

In the Cherkasy Regional Museum of Local Lore, locals are knitting warm socks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Soon they, along with nets, kikimores and sweets, will be sent to the defenders on the front lines.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The General Staff confirmed fire damage to russian troops buildup in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. Up to 150 invaders were injured, 50 of them were taken to the hospital in Melitopol.

Counter-sabotage measures have been strengthened at the checkpoints around the city of Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia oblast. The number of russian servicemen has increased, and  civilians are checked more thoroughly. People without local registration are not allowed into the city.

According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, the situation has not significantly changed. The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on holding occupied borders.

According to the National Police in Zaporizhzhia oblast, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the settlements of Stepove, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Chervone, Huliaipole, Preobrazhenka, Dorozhnianka, Olhivske, Novoandriivka, Poltavka, Mala Tokmachka, Tymyrivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Plavni, Charivne.

The police received 32 reports on destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

51 people, including 6 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, radiation background in Zaporizhzhia oblast remains unchanged and does not pose a threat to the life and health of the population..

The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit and destroyed the russian Buk-M3 system in Polohy district. The enemy missile system was destroyed using high-precision weapons provided by the allies. The Buk-M3 was destroyed near the settlement of Vesele. The target range was about 60 km.

During the past week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed about ten bases and headquarters of the occupiers in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast. This was announced by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov. According to him, the enemy lost hundreds, or rather thousands of soldiers. But the exact results of the past week will be known on Monday-Tuesday.

The mayor also reported that explosions were heard in the east of Melitopol. According to preliminary information, the building of the Melitopol Christian Church is on fire. Ivan Fedorov added that the occupiers seized the church building a few months ago and turned it into a place for gatherings. The number of liquidated and wounded occupiers is currently unknown.

Mykolaiv oblast

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the President of Turkey Erdogan to guarantee the security of Mykolaiv oblast and, precisely Mykolaiv ports. According to him, if Mykolaiv oblast joins the grain initiative, it will help solve the global food crisis in the world. The President of Ukraine stated this during a speech at the TRT World Forum 2022, which is ongoing in Istanbul as of December 10.

According to the information of the South Air Command, on the night of December 10, their units shot down ten enemy kamikaze drones “Shahed-136/131”. 4 of them were shot over Mykolaiv oblast.

On the night of December 10, the russian military attacked Mykolaiv oblast. The russian troops used unmanned aerial vehicles and rocket launchers. This was reported by the press service of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

The enemy was attacking the waters of Ochakiv community with anti-aircraft missiles. There are no casualties. The day and night passed relatively calmly in Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka regions.

As of December 10, 14,045 civilian objects have been partially or completely damaged in Mykolaiv oblast since the russian invasion began. This was reported by the press service of Mykolayiv RMA. As of now, there is no electricity and water supply, and drainage in 81 settlements (partially in four of them) in Bashtankai and Mykolayiv regions. Units of the State Emergency Service were involved 20 times to identify and remove explosive objects to eliminate the consequences of russian aggression. 28 explosive objects were removed.

Voluntary evacuation is underway. As of December 10, there are 544 internally displaced persons in temporary accommodation facilities in Mykolaiv.

The building of Mykolayiv RMA, destroyed in March by the russian shelling, cannot be restored. According to preliminary information, it will be demolished. This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim.

143 citizens who suffered from the attacks of the occupiers are still in Mykolaiv hospitals. This was reported by the head of the regional council, Hanna Zamazeieva.

10 units of special transport and electric generators are heading from Hannover, Germany, to Mykolaiv. There are forklifts, ambulances, trucks among the vehicles.

Iuliia Konovalova, a volunteer from Mykolaiv, coordinator of the “World Central Kitchen” project and head of the “People Everywhere” NGO, received a special “Golden Heart” award from the President of Ukraine.

The Italian media DomusAir published detailed information about interim results on the creation of a plan for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv after the war made by the international experts team.

The bridge connecting Mykolaiv and Kherson was destroyed as a result of hostilities. Repair work is currently underway. Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko announced this in his Telegram channel. He assured that experts have already examined the overpass and restoration has begun.

Odesa oblast

At night, the enemy attacked Odesa oblast with kamikaze drones. Energy infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged. Two drones were shot down over the sea by our air defense units. There is no electricity in almost all region due to the strike. This was reported by the head of Odesa RMA Maksym Marchenko.

A part of main high-voltage networks and equipment was damaged, having led to the blackout of consumers in Odesa and the region. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenerho. Due to the destruction scale, power supply was shut down for all consumers. According to DTEK, only the critical infrastructure objects in the city have been supplied with electricity.

According to the Department of Life Support Systems and Energy Efficiency of Odesa Regional State, there may be no electricity in Odesa for 2-3 months.

The UNICEF office operating in the southern regions of Ukraine is launching the South4U project in Odesa, aimed at supporting children affected by the war. It is planned to involve children of internally displaced persons and children living in families with alternative care. They also plan to create 10 mobile teams, which will include a psychologist who will help not only children, but also parents; a social worker who will record the facts of violation of children’s rights in the southern regions; a doctor who will provide medical assistance to the families of IDPs who have moved to Odesa, consultations on making declarations with doctors working in Odesa and medical rehabilitation, etc. The project is designed for six months, but UNICEF plans to extend it later. As the head of the UNICEF Odesa office Mahadi Rakhimov noted, this is one of the first UNICEF projects in the south of Ukraine. According to him, the fund has invested more than 40 million US dollars in Odesa since the end of March.

Kherson oblast

The russian invaders shelled Kherson at night and in the morning. Due to damage to power lines, 2,549 consumers were left without electricity again. This was reported by the head of Kherson RMA Iaroslav Ianushevych.

The russian occupiers fired at the maternity ward of the hospital in Kherson. The building was damaged. This was announced by the deputy head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

State Emergency Service specialists de-mined more than 800 hectares of territories in Kherson oblast, including 200 km of roads and 20 km of power lines. Roman Rohatynskyi, head of the Kherson demining department, announced this on the air of the nationwide marathon.

The work of the Pension Fund of Ukraine has been resumed in Kherson oblast. Citizens are already provided services in Kherson, Bilozerka, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Visokopillia and Novovorontsovka. This was reported by the head of the Kherson RMA Iaroslav Ianushevych.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating crimes committed by russian servicemen in Kherson oblast. In March, most of four million chickens died in Chornobaiivka due to power outages caused by russian shelling at a poultry factory. According to law enforcement officials, bacterial contamination of a large area could have occurred.

The library “Lviv Polytechnic” transferred more than 300 books to the libraries of Kherson. The transfer took place within the “Ukrainian book to Ukrainian Kherson oblast” support campaign.

Volyn oblast

Mayor of Volodymyr Ihor Palonka announced that boiler plants in the city  received three generators. They were purchased with funds from the local budget.

A conference dedicated to the results of the project Together for the health and well-being of residents of Volodymyr and Tsvikau was held in Volodymyr. The project is implemented within the framework of the NAKOPA program together with the partner city of Tsvikau.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA together with the Doctors Without Borders team handed over a batch of hygiene and sleeping sets to one of the centers for placement of forced migrants in Vynohradiv region.

The initiative Christmas together with Ukraine was launched, which is implemented by the oblast with the support of the Yarema Foundation and the Bright Country NGO. 50 children from oblasts where active hostilities continue and children from Zakarpattia went on a trip together to Vienna, Bratislava, Debrecen, Budapest, Prague and Warsaw.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

RMA reported that the President of Ukraine awarded the Golden Heart to Tetyana Skitsko, a volunteer from the Carpathians, Head of the public organization League of Ukrainian Women.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council a profile meeting with representatives of local businesses was held. They discussed supporting the population under conditions of blackout.

Lviv oblast

The City Council of Lviv reported that the Ukrainian diaspora in San Francisco donated rehabilitation equipment for continuous passive movement to St. Luke’s Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv.

Educational institutions of Lviv oblast received 4 new school buses from the Ukrainian manufacturer. Educational and rehabilitation center Levenya, the only institution for children with deaf-blindness in Ukraine, received a specialized bus. These buses will replace those that communities gave to the needs of the army.

Rivne oblast

Employees of budget funded institutions and entrepreneurs of the Loknytsk Territorial Community of Varas district purchased and sent a car for one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They collected UAH 108 366 and $2 100. Employees of budget institutions gave their daily earnings to support the Armed Forces.

Teachers, students and parents of the Netrebsk Gymnasium organized a charity fair in support of the soldiers. The collected funds will be donated to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Ternopil oblast

Mayor of Ternopil Serhii Nadal announced that due to the need to save electricity on weekends, the number of trolleybuses on the routes in Ternopil was reduced by a third. Electric transport will operate on a weekend schedule.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded volunteers from Ternopil oblast with the presidential award Golden Heart. Khrystyna Fetsitsa (director of the charitable organization Charitable Fund Logistics Center for Aid to Fighters) and Father Volodymyr Firman (rector of the Marian Spiritual Center Zarvanytsia) received the award.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The Khmelnytskyi Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting reported that foresters of Khmelnytskyi oblast sent the car for the needs of soldiers of the 24th mechanized brigade named after Danylo Halytskyi.

The Kyivstar company together with the CF Caritas Ukraine implements the Smartphone of Goodness project. Thanks to this initiative IDPs can receive phones as a gift to be able to call their relatives. Four pensioners, IDP from Donetsk and Kyiv oblasts have already received such gadgets. Gifts were brought and volunteers from Caritas Khmelnytskyi UGCC.

Chernivtsi oblast

Mayor of Chernivtsi Roman Klichuk, signed a memorandum on cooperation with the Ukrainian Veterans’ Fund. Thanks to this, veterans will be able to receive a grant for business support.

In Bukovina, 49 IDP families received household appliances. Also, heaters and sleeping sets (a mattress, a pillow, a blanket, a bed linen and towels) have been delivered to families of IDPs currently living in the oblast. They received help within the framework of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) project Monitoring the needs and support of children in conditions of war with the support of UNICEF Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak announced that in the coming weeks Ukraine will receive anti-aircraft guns and anti-aircraft missiles.

Azerbaijan transferred energy equipment to Ukraine as humanitarian aid. As reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, 45 transformers and 50 generators were sent to Ukraine. They plan to send a second batch of humanitarian aid in the coming days.

Morocco will become the first African country to provide military aid to Ukraine. Ukraine will receive spare parts for T-72 tanks.

The German company Rheinmetall signed a contract for production of two Skynex air defense systems worth €182 million for Ukraine. Germany will bear the costs.

The Government of Norway signed an agreement with the World Bank to provide NOK 1 billion for restoration of infrastructure damaged by russian missile strikes in Ukraine.

Lithuania will provide Ukraine with express tests for coronavirus worth about €730K.

The US imposed sanctions against the russian aerospace forces and other russian institutions due to the acquisition and use of Iranian drones.

Australia imposed sanctions against russia and Iran for violating human rights and supplying kamikaze drones. The Australian government imposed sanctions against 13 individuals and 2 legal entities.

In Lithuania, a press conference by Chairman of the EU military committee, Robert Briger, and Commander of the Lithuanian army, Valdemaras Rupshys was held. They discussed security and defense in the activities of the EU and NATO, the course of the war in Ukraine and its impact on the EU’s long-term security plans.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Netherlands for Asylum and Migration, Erik van der Burg, stated that Ukrainians are currently fighting not only for themselves, but also for the future of Europe.

Banksy created 50 stencil paintings. The funds from their sale will be donated to help Ukraine. The money will be used to purchase new ambulances in Donbas. They also plan to purchase generators and gas heaters. All paintings cost £5K each.
