It has been the 286th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian occupiers continue to carry out full-fledged armed aggression against our country and strike civilian infrastructure. Towards Lyman, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka, the enemy is concentrating its efforts on the offensive. In other directions, they try to hold the temporarily captured territories, focus on restraining the actions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, erect defensive constructions of their positions and conduct reconnaissance.

The enemy is striking and shelling settlements and positions of our troops along the front line. They launched 4 missile strikes and 10 MLRS attacks.

Russian invaders are hitting critical infrastructure and civilian homes by violating the international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war.

The enemy’s missile attacks damaged the civilian infrastructure of the settlement of Stepne, Zaporizhzhia oblast.

The territory of Ukraine is under the threat of missile strikes on the energy system and critical infrastructure facilities.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation did not significantly change. No signs of formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected. Training of enemy units continues on the grounds of the republic of belarus.

The republic of belarus continues to support the russian armed aggression against Ukraine by providing territory and airspace for launching missile and air strikes.

Towards Siversk, the enemy carried out mortar attacks on the settlements of Zapsilia and Myropillia,Sumy oblast.

Towards Sloboda, occupiers’ troops are stationed in the border areas of the Belhorod region. Areas of settlements of Strilecha, Ternova, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhunivka, Kharkiv oblast were shelled with tanks, mortars, and barrel artillery.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy is conducting defensive operations on captured lines. They shelled from tanks and the entire range of artillery in the areas of Dvorichna, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Berestove settlements, Kharkiv oblast, as well as Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk oblast.

Towards Lyman, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Makiivka, Ploshchanka and Nevske, Luhansk oblast; Terny and Lyman, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka, the enemy is concentrating its key efforts on conducting offensive operations. More than 20 settlements were shelled with tanks and artillery of various types, including Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Gora, Druzhba, Zalizne, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast.

The enemy is on the defensive towards Novopavlivka. They carried out artillery and mortar attacks on the areas of Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva settlements, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporozhzhia, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position. Russian invaders fired from tanks, mortars and artillery at over 10 settlements, including Vremivka, Novopil, Donetsk oblast; Dorozhnyanka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Stepove and Plavni, Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy is conducting defensive operations and strengthening groups of troops. They carried out artillery shelling of areas of settlements bordering the front line, specifically Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Bilohrudove, Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson.

The enemy suffered losses. So on December 4 in Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of shelling, up to 20 units of enemy military equipment of various types were destroyed, and about 70 occupiers were injured.

On November 30, in the Verkhny Toretsky district, Donetsk oblast, russian servicemen deserted with weapons from their combat positions. 13 out of 21 among them are persons recruited from prisons. The russian military command ordered the arrest and elimination of violators. As of December 5, all deserters have been eliminated.

The aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine launched 14 strikes on the areas of buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as 2 strikes on the positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.

Units of the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit the control post, 2 personnel buildup areas and the enemy’s ammunition depot within a day.

According to the ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, 15K people went missing since the war began. Currently, it is unknown whether this number includes only civilians. 

According to the Ministry of Re-integration, bodies of 49 fallen Ukrainian defenders were returned home. The Ministry of Reintegration makes every effort together with the law enforcement agencies to return bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. 

Andrii Yermak, head of the President Office, informed about the exchange of prisoners. 60 defenders returned home from the russian captivity. On the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 60 defenders of the Armed Forces, National Guard, Border Guard, 58 male and 2 female defenders, 15 officers and 45 soldiers and sergeants returned home. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders shelled 14 settlements with tanks, mortars and the entire range of artillery.

In Kharkiv, people paid the last tribute to the writer Volodymyr Vakulenko, killed by russian troops during the occupation of Izium. Volodymyr’s son, 14-year-old Vitalii, with whom they almost never separated, was at his father’s funeral.

Kharkiv Regional Police Chief, Volodymyr Tymoshko, said that as of December 6, 28 settlements of Kharkiv oblast remain under russian occupation.

Borova community reported that the invaders shelled Zahryzove village. As a result of shelling, the head of the local House of Culture was killed. Her husband is in intensive care.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that buildings damaged by the invaders are being restored in Kharkiv oblast. The repair of the Kharkiv Regional Trauma Hospital, destroyed by two bombings and a missile attack, is more than 55% completed. 184 windows, ceilings and side reinforced concrete slabs were damaged, all interior rooms hit and medical equipment destroyed. Specialists replaced all damaged load-bearing panels and completed the repair of all ceilings. The next step is to repair the windows. The works should be completed by the end of December.

Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk districts are under enemy artillery attack again. A 68-year-old man was killed in Obukhivka village in Kupiansk district as a result of russian shelling. There are damages to private households, outbuildings and warehouses.

Voluntary evacuation from Kupiansk district to safer places in the region continues. Local authorities together with volunteers have already evacuated 217 people, 68 more applications are being processed.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders continue their attempts to advance near Avdiivka and Bakhmut.

Today, a new set of military stamps from Ukrposhta was issued in Donetsk oblast. This time, the stamps are dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are called “Weapons of Victory”. There are 6 stamps on the stamp sheet, each of which is dedicated to a separate weapon of our army: “Vilkha”, “Neptun”, “Stuhna-P”, “Bayraktar TB2”, FGM-149 “Javelin”, “M142 HIMARS”.

Head of Kramatorsk City Military Administration, Oleksandr Honcharenko, said that russians launched four missiles near Kramatorsk. Thirty-nine private buildings, an industrial zone and an educational institution, where the Invincibility Centre was located, were destroyed.

At night, there were attacks along the front line from Vuhledar to Lyman communities.

Towards Volnovakha, Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community was shelled. 5 buildings were damaged, no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, at night and in the morning russians shelled infrastructure facilities in Kurakhove community and damaged power lines in Marinka community. There were also isolated attacks on the old part of Avdiivka. There was no information about casualties.

Towards Horlivka, 7 people were injured: 2 in Bakhmut, 4 in Ivanivske and 1 in Toretsk. Private buildings were damaged in Ivanivske, the number and scope of the damage are being established.

Towards Lysychansk, there were about 50 hits in Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russians injured 9 civilians: 3 in Bakhmut, 4 in Ivanivske, 1 in Maksymilianivka and 1 in Toretsk. It is currently impossible to establish the exact number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Luhansk oblast

Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russians were on the defensive towards Kupiansk and Lyman. They used tactical and army aviation to attack near Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka. The invaders fired from tanks, mortars and barrel artillery at Chervonopopivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Novoselivske, Ploshchanka and Stelmakhivka.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, most of the beds in the medical institutions of the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” were allocated to injured russian servicemen. Hospitals are overcrowded with soldiers. Scheduled hospitalisations and treatment of civilians had to be suspended. Only emergency medical aid is provided. In Novopskov, a military hospital was set up even in the maternity ward.

At the same time, in Starobilsk, where russians are trying to build a second defence line, mobilised servicemen continue to be accommodated in private buildings.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are advancing deep into Luhansk oblast in Kreminna and Svatove directions. The highway between Kreminna and Svatove is under the fire control of Ukrainian military. The invaders cannot quickly move ammunition between these cities.

According to him, russians completely mine the territory of the region and build the defence. The invaders dig a whole set of communications in the ground. On the occasion of the thirty-first anniversary of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, high school students of Berezan community, parents of lyceum students and representatives of local authorities were invited to the Luhansk Regional Military Lyceum. Lyceum students told about the history of creation of the Armed Forces, their structure and heroic fight against russian invaders during the russian aggression.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Havripitsa arrived on a working visit to Kyiv. She visited Bucha and Irpin, which suffered from russian military aggression. She also met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal to discuss the steps of European integration, confronting russian aggression and information propaganda, cooperation in the field of energy, logistics and trade and economic partnership.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klychko, said that the heating points in Kyiv will work around the clock only in case of an emergency with heating and other communications. If there is electricity and heat supply in the city, the points will work until nine o’clock in the evening.

Kyiv lost 1.3 billion hryvnias due to the halt of transport during the air-raid sirens. The public initiative “Passengers of Kyiv” calculated that public transport was inactive for 144 hours in four months, which led to such losses.

A cyber laboratory for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was opened in Kyiv, where military personnel will be able to learn using virtual scenarios and simulations of cyber attacks in real time. As reported in the European External Affairs Service (EEAS), the equipment for the laboratory was supplied by the EU. Software for protecting information in cyberspace was also transferred to the Armed Forces.

The Economist published illustrations by Ukrainian artist Mariia Kinovych about life during the blackout. The author is a designer and illustrator from Kyiv, who was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2020.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr oblast, the regional military administration reported that invincibility centres work around the clock. All heating points are equipped with generators, there is heat, internet, first aid kits, hot tea, and coffee.

24 resumed operations in Zhytomyr. As reported in the city council, street cars have not yet been put on the line due to their higher energy consumption. The validity period of unlimited passenger transport cards will be extended for two weeks.

Two cars “Nissan Pathfinder” and “Nissan Navara”  were handed over to military personnel by representatives of the Zhytomyr Community Foundation on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The cars have undergone a full technical inspection and will be sent to the front line.

Gifts for children living in the front zone were prepared by students and teachers of the Scientific Lyceum of the Zhytomyr Polytechnic. Volunteers from Zhytomyr and the Czech Republic will deliver books, board games, stationery, soft toys, and postcards to children.

A patriotic literary and musical hour “Angels of the Ukrainian People” was organised on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As reported in RMA, the event took place with the participation of children’s creative teams on the premises of the Zhytomyr Regional Scientific Library named after Oleh Olzhych.

Despite the war, foresters of the region planted more than 42 million seedlings during the year. Thus, Zhytomyr oblast became a leader in implementation of the President’s “Green Country” program.

Sumy oblast

According to head of Sumy RMA Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, a residential house, windows in the administrative building and six apartments were battered in Myropil community. 15 mines were fired at the border villages. 

Today, the enemy shelled 7 communities of Sumy by launching 226 missiles and mines. Esman community was attacked four times from Grad MLRs and barrels. A 69-year local was wounded by shrapnel. Three residential houses were battered, one of them caught on fire. 

Myropil community was shelled with mortars. Shalyhin community was fired at from barrels. Khotyn community was shelled at the same time with self-propelled guns and mortars. A hospital and a kindergarten were damaged. A hospital caught on fire. 

The occupiers shelled Yunakiv and Bilopil communities from mortars. Krosnopillia community was fired at from self-propelled guns. 

According to Sumy RMA, there were emergency power cut offs in the region due to the increased power consumption than the current limit established by Ukrenerho. 

Head of Sumy RMA Dmytro Zhyvytskyi informed that today during the prisoner exchange four prisoners from Sumy region returned home. Denys Burdo and Vitalii Svystun form Sumy were captured at the battles in Luhansk oblast, Vladyslav Verdiiev from Trostianets region was taken prisoner in Kherson oblast, Oleksandr Bezdenezhnykh from Konotop region defended Mariupol.

Sumy RMA reports that defenders from voluntary battalions of Sumy region received 180 high-quality helmets. Sumy RMA and Kyiv economy school bought the helmets within the framework of the joint charity project “Sumy helmets”.

Chernihiv oblast

According to Chernihiv RMA, the enemy mine has fallen on the territory of a residential house during the shelling of the border lines of Chernihiv oblast in the village of Vorobiivka, Novhorod-Siversk region. The windows were smashed, the service building was damaged. The dog was killed.

Chernihivoblenerho informed that the power shutdown schedule “four in four” was amended in Chernihiv oblast due to the 8th missile attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Starting from 5 pm, “three in six” schedule will be applied.  

According to Nizhyn city council, memorial plates with the names of school graduates who fell when defending Ukraine were opened at several schools in Nizhyn on the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Representatives of the Latvian charity organization Tavi Draugi visited the celebration on the occasion of Volunteer Day and delivered 3 powerful generators to Chernihiv region. According to head of Chernihiv RMA, volunteers sent many modern multifunctional hospital beds, medical equipment and apparel within the period of their cooperation. Thanks to Tavi Draugi, 50 Ukrainian defenders are sent for rehabilitation treatment to Latvia. 

According to journalists of Suspilne Chernihiv, human rights organisation Truth Hounds has established those liable for shelling civilians lined up to get bread on March 16 in Chernihiv. 15 civilians were killed, 27 wounded during March shelling. Experts and analysts studied the details of the crime and concluded that only the military command of the 35th russian motorized brigade. 

In Chernihiv, soldiers donated their blood to the needs of local hospitals. Defenders of territorial defense were donors today at the local blood centers. “Since our unit is defending Chernihiv and there are no hostilities in the region at this time, we want to help the guys on the front line”, commented one of the defenders.

Chernihiv RMA reported that Chernihiv volunteer council will function in the region. They will focus on ensuring effective cooperation and coordination between local authorities and volunteer organizations of the region. 

Pryluky specialised school # 5 shared on their Facebook page that they sent over 517 pairs of socks and lots of drug products to Ukrainian defenders on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk said that Nikopol region was being shelled again all night long. The russian occupiers attacked three communities with heavy artillery, firing fifty shells at them. Nikopol was hit the hardest. In the city, about eleven residential buildings, several farm buildings, two gas furnaces and electricity grids were damaged. In Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities, one of pumping stations was cut off due to the attack. Three settlements are left without water, that’s about 9K consumers.

In the evening, an object of industrial infrastructure was hit with a missile in Kryvyi Rih. One person was injured.

In the city of  Nikopol, a transport infrastructure object was battered. In Pokrovsk community, there was no serious destruction this time.

According to Mykola Lukashuk, in Chervonohryhorivka community, the russian army destroyed one private house and damaged four. They also targeted power lines and a gas pipeline. The pumping station premises were also damaged. 

The deputies of Dnipropetrovsk oblast handed over to the military generators, porridge, goodies and trench candles, made by students and teachers of the Kryvyi Rih special school “Constellation” (”Suzirya”). Defenders were also awarded.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reports that ​​”Heat from the house to the trench”: the residents of Vinnytsia collected another humanitarian cargo for the military as part of the initiative of the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters. Among the cargo were shovels, axes, staples, film, and paper towels. These are the things that make life easier for Ukrainian soldiers at the front line. In addition, the students of the VinSmart Center and the Vinnytsia Youth Council joined the project initiated by the Humshtab: they handed over trench candles and children’s drawings to the soldiers. 

​​​​In Vinnytsia, training was held on using generators at the invincibility centres, located on the basis of general educational institutions. School employees were taught how to use generators. In addition, during the meeting with the persons in charge, the algorithm of actions in case of an emergency situation was elaborated.

Kirovohrad oblast

Today, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Andrii Raikovych, together with the military, redeemed the “Weapons of Victory” stamp from Ukrposhta.

The spokeswoman of the Kirovohradoblenergo company Olena Danylchenko said that almost 200K people remain without electricity in Kirovohrad oblast.

Serhii Podorozhnyi, the representative of the government commissioner for the rights of people with disabilities, said that in Kropyvnytskyi they are setting up a town for internally displaced persons with disabilities. Today, the first family was settled there. During the war, families with disabled family members can live there for free.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, reported that ten diesel generators for the 116th Territorial Defense Brigade were handed over in Poltava oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, announced that 8 cars and a car fully equipped for the needs of military medics, were handed over to the military in Cherkasy oblast.

Cherkasy gymnasium # 9 collected gifts for the military on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and St. Nicholas Day. Children wrote words of gratitude and support and their names on each package.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

At night, russian terrorists launched a missile attack on the suburbs of Zaporizhzhia. One of missiles hit the territory of Stepnianska territorial community. Critical infrastructure facilities and residential buildings were damaged. According to the National Police in Zaporizhzhia oblast, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of 16 settlements over the past day. There were 28 reports of destruction of civilian houses and infrastructure as a result of russian shelling. 

Civilians were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. 142 people were evacuated, including 18 children.

Enerhodar Mayor Dmytro Orlov informed that as of early December, the heating season has not yet started in the temporarily occupied Enerhodar. In addition, russian invaders do not allow humanitarian cargo to enter the city. According to him, in summer the authorities managed to work quite actively on delivery of humanitarian cargo, medicines, and baby food. But since September the occupiers have blocked the possibility of delivering humanitarian goods. He noted that the lack of supplies from the controlled territories of Ukraine affects the rapid growth of prices for those goods and products imported to Enerhodar from the occupied Crimea or russia. According to Orlov, people cannot afford even vital things, especially medicines. He specified that there is no heat in Enerhodar since the beginning of the heating season. According to him, about 15 thousand residents remain in the city, many of them are elderly.

Ukrainian military intelligence reported that representatives of Rosatom at Zaporizhzhia NPP misappropriated the money intended for salaries of Ukrainian personnel. Representatives of the russian corporation also conducted fraudulent activities with the funds allocated for the management of Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. To this end, they draw up fictitious financial documents. 

A significant number of the occupiers, who were at ZNPP since its seizure, left the territory of the plant. Currently, about 500 occupiers remain there, 200 of whom are the so-called “Kadyrovites” (Chechen military forces who are part of Ramzan Kadyrov’s group). Their main task is to intimidate the staff and persuade them to cooperate with the occupiers. About 300 mines were found in the industrial area of the station, left behind by the occupied units when they left the station.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to the “South” Air Command, yesterday russian troops launched cruise missiles of X-22, X-555, X-59 type. In the south of Ukraine, 15 cruise missiles were shot down: 7 missiles over Mykolaiv oblast, 8 – over Odesa oblast. Russians also shelled with artillery the water area of the Ochakiv region and fired missiles at the Olshanska hromada, which damaged the administrative building, residential houses and outbuildings.

Head of the Mykolaiv Military Administration Vitaliy Kim said in a telethon that in the south of Ukraine, during the retreat, russian occupiers disguised mines in unexpected places where there are no military targets, notably in the basements of residential buildings. According to him, the South of Ukraine is the most mined territory. About 8 groups are working on demining, and there are already wounded and killed members of these groups. These are not simple mines. They are disguised so that it significantly slows down the pace of demining. Russians mined the basements of civilian buildings, hoping that someone would come down to turn on the water or heating. This is not a military task. It was done specifically to kill civilians. 

Odesa oblast

Spokeswoman of the “South” Operational Command Natalia Humeniuk said during a national telethon that 15 ships of the russian Navy are currently in the Black Sea. After yesterday’s barrage of attacks, the group of ships became smaller, but one submarine and one surface missile carrier remained on duty, which means at least 12 “Kalibr” missiles ready for use. She also noted that russians use “Kalibr” to attack critical facilities, including critical infrastructure, because it is a precision-guided weapon. Yesterday, russia fired more than 70 missiles at Ukraine, more than 60 were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces. Among them were 22 “Kalibr” cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea.

As a result of the barrage of attacks yesterday, Odesa was completely left without electricity, water and heating. Today, power engineers have restored electricity supply to critical infrastructure. First of all, heat and water supply and hospitals were connected. This was reported by the press service of the company DTEK. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers said that the russian occupiers were shelling the same energy facilities of Ukraine several times. Thus, on Monday, they fired 7 missiles at an electrical substation in Odesa oblast.

According to the spokesman for the Odesa Military Administration Serhiy Bratchuk, despite the shelling, three ports of Greater Odesa did not stop their operations, but the consequences of russian strikes made adjustments to their operations. According to him, the ports are operating in accordance with the plan of the “grain deal”. There are vessels that are waiting for loading and preparing to go to the ports of destination to deliver Ukrainian agricultural products to other countries.

Kherson oblast

According to head of the military administration Yaroslav Yanushevych, russian occupiers shelled the territory of Kherson oblast 17 times. Russian troops attacked peaceful settlements of the oblast with artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars and tanks, fired at civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. One local of Kherson oblast was wounded as a result of enemy shelling. Russian occupiers also shelled Kherson again. They hit an infrastructure facility and residential buildings. Preliminary, the information about one killed civilian was reported. A 43-year-old worker of the factory died as a result of mine-blast trauma and injuries caused by debris. A large-scale fire broke out as a result of shelling.

According to the National Police, investigators opened 43 criminal proceedings on war crimes of the occupying army over the past day. There are reports from Skadovsk region that russian soldiers are moving into the houses whose owners have left using the information of local collaborators. In the settlements of Askania-Nova the occupiers continue to loot, taking away hunting rifles from local residents and taking away property from houses. Based on information provided by the resort village of Shchaslyvtseve, the russian military moved into the balneological complex and are looting it. The russian military also seized a bakery, a car and a motor home of a local resident.

Head of the Regional Military Administration continued to report on restoration of the liberated Kherson oblast. Specialists have restored 7 base stations of mobile communication in Kherson, and in total – 93 base and 3 mobile stations in Kherson oblast. 32 crews are working to restore electricity. Natural gas distribution and supply to existing household consumers are being gradually restored in 4 settlements of the oblast. In Kherson, centralized water supply has been restored by 80%. Consumers are being connected to water supply.  

Explosive experts of the National Police inspected 25 hectares of territories, seized 67 explosive items, and destroyed 28. Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service inspected 6 hectares of territories, seized and defused 254 explosive items.

Kherson oblast received 5 powerful 176 kW diesel generators from the EU. They were delivered to the hospitals of the oblast.

Volunteers of the Red Cross of Ukraine evacuated 30 people with limited mobility from Kherson. 20 volunteers and 7 vehicles were involved in evacuation. People with disabilities were taken to the evacuation train, which transports them to safer places in the country.

Volyn oblast

The Volyn Youth Center received a special award for helping Ukrainians during the war in the Help in the regions nomination.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that thanks to benefactors, the soldiers of the Zakarpattia Legion were given a truck. The car has already left for the front.

As part of the grant, Uzhhorod received equipment for construction of a tourist information centre and a gallery in the Sovyne Hnizdo in the amount of over EUR 180K. The equipment is planned to be installed in the near future, as the premises are currently the largest humanitarian centre in Zakarpattia and serve the needs of volunteers and displaced persons.

An exhibition on the occasion of Armed Forces Day was presented at the Zakarpattia Regional Music Drama Theater named after the Sheregiiv brothers. It shows exhibits delivered by soldiers of the 15th battalion of the 101st territorial defense brigade and volunteers.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Cultural workers of the oblast collected funds and purchased a car for the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade. In total, EUR 4.2K were collected thanks to various promotions and fairs organized by cultural workers. This made it possible to buy a car, refurbish and equip it.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to defenders. Among those honored is Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of the Artillery Department of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lt. Col. Volodymyr Potieshkin. The man, native of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine by the Head of State and presented with an order.

Carpathian rescuers delivered humanitarian aid, namely drinking water, fire-fighting equipment and equipment necessary for emergency rescue operations, to Kherson colleagues.

Lviv oblast

Four social institutions of Lviv oblast, where elderly people, persons with disabilities and children without parents are located, received generators from Malta Emergency Service. The organization provided generators within the framework of the Winter Program. Its key goal is to support Ukrainians in the difficult winter oblast, specifically with backup sources of power supply.

The CF Vidkryti Ochi of the SoftServe company donated over 200 sets of winter uniforms to military units from Lviv oblast. Soldiers of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 103rd Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fighters of the Air Command “West” and cadets of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi will receive the military apparel. 

The RMA reported that the Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann Potsdam hospital (in the German city of Potsdam) sent medicines for the department of anesthesiology and intensive care of newborns to the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center.

The Lviv Regional Children’s Hospital OKHMATDYT received expensive endoscopic equipment from benefactors. The medical equipment was donated by the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization Knights of Columbus

The RMA hosted a charity event to make trench candles for defenders. Oxford University professor Timothy Garton, who came to Lviv on a visit, joined the event. Over 200 trench candles in a few hours were made by joint efforts.

Head of the Lviv RMA Maksym Kozytskyi met with Deputy director of the Swiss Cooperation Bureau Guy Bonvin. Since the Swiss Cooperation Office is mostly engaged in mental health support, the possibilities for future cooperation in this direction were discussed.

At the Lychakiv cemetery, the memory of fallen heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for a free and independent Ukraine was commemorated. The regional leadership, clergy, public representatives, and families of Ukrainian defenders joined the event.

Lviv received a prestigious European award in the field of energy – the European Energy Award. The award received is the authorities’ support in implementation of effective energy and climate policy measures and the instrument for implementation of the Covenant of Mayors.

Rivne oblast

The Rivneoblenergo reported that limits of electricity consumption from Ukrenerho have been established for all oblasts. For Rivne oblast, this is 60% of the need.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine transferred the StarLink satellite Internet stations to Rivne oblast. They will be installed in five structural subdivisions of Emergency Medical Care Centers in Rivne oblast.

Over 5K sets of winter clothes have been sent to displaced children of Rivne oblast. The clothes were donated by the UNICEF International Charity Fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

Residents of Stara Moschanytsia prepared gifts for the soldiers at the front. They named their presents Family box for a warrior. 15 families joined the campaign. Each family prepared its own gift. Sweets, hygiene products, warm knitted socks, trench candles and drawings were placed in the packages.

At the Ivannivska gymnasium (Dubenskyi district), young volunteers collected over UAH 22K at the charity fair. Using these funds, 20 winter sleeping bags for the military were purchased.

Ternopil oblast

The Chortkiv city council reported that students of the Sunday school of the Church of the Holy Intercession organized a performance for church parishioners. The children collected almost UAH 12K for the military.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The exhibition Chevrons: traditions and honor of the Ukrainian army dedicated to the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was opened in the local history department of the Museum of Propaganda. Over seventy armbands from the museum collection were presented.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Department of Health Care of Chernivtsi City Council reported that all medical facilities in Chernivtsi are equipped with generators. The power of generators in institutions meets the technical requirements and safety standards for the use of such devices.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Canada will transfer equipment to Ukraine to assist it in demining of territories and help fund detection and disposal of landmines and unexploded ordnance.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with the Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovich. Within the framework of the negotiations, a Joint Declaration was signed, defining the priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Montenegro within the framework of Ukraine’s strategic course towards full membership in NATO. Montenegro became the third country to sign a declaration of support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic course.

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that Ukraine and the UAE have started negotiations on concluding an agreement on economic partnership.

Head of the EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced that 24 EU countries submitted over 100 offers to participate in the new mission to train the Ukrainian military.

Minister of Digital Policy and Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation with the world’s largest intelligence company Recorded Future. Together with this company Ukraine will create technological solutions to protect against russian attacks.

Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova, Ihor Grosu, stated that Moldova will consider a resolution recognizing the russian federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The Biden administration will hold a meeting with the management of energy companies on December 8 to decide how to help Ukraine. The meeting will be held against the background of russian attempts to destroy Ukraine’s energy system with the help of missile strikes.

Head of the National Council for Electronic Media of  Latvia, Ivars Abolinsh, announced that Latvia revoked the license of the russian TV channel Dozhd “for security reasons”. The reason behind this is that the channel’s activities pose a threat to the national security and public order of Latvia.

As part of the annual charity evening of the Elina Svitolina Foundation, a charity auction was held in Monaco. UNITED24 lots were purchased by American businessman Thomas Henry. The collected €57K will be used to purchase generators for Ukrainian hospitals.

The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska received The Hillary Rodham Clinton Awards. This award is presented annually by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security for exceptional leadership in recognizing the critical role women play in building a more peaceful and secure world.

According to the BBC, 8 Ukrainian women were included in the top 100 most influential and inspiring women of the year.
