War in Ukraine today: latest news, April 25, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 426th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

During the day, russian occupiers launched 2 missile strikes from S-300 missile systems at the center of the peaceful city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast. As a result, several civilians were killed and wounded, the building of the local history museum, which is not in the vicinity of any military facilities, was destroyed, and other civilian infrastructure damaged. In addition, the enemy conducted 6 air strikes and fired more than 10 times from multiple launch rocket systems in other locations. 

The threat of launching missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 36 enemy attacks in the above-mentioned areas of the frontline. The fiercest fighting continues for Bakhmut and Marinka.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy fired artillery and mortar shells at the settlements of Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Korenok, Iskryskivshchyna and Volfyno (Sumy oblast), and Veterynarne, Zelenne, Neskuchne, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche and Ambarne (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the settlements of Topoli, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna and Kupiansk (Kharkiv oblast) were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

Towards Lyman, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. Novoselivske, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast) and Torske, Yampil, Verkhnekamianske and Pereizne (Donetsk oblast) came under artillery fire.

The enemy continues to conduct offensive actions towards Bakhmut. Heavy fighting continues for the town of Bakhmut. In addition, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives towards Bohdanivka, Khromove and Klishchiivka. Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Pivnichne and Nyzhnyk (Donetsk oblast) were affected by hostile shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted the offensive near Sievierne and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), but did not succeed. Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Karlivka and Nevelske in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Marinka, our defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the vicinity of Marinka. Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka and Paraskoviivka in Donetsk oblast were subjected to hostile attacks.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. They shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Yehorivka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive actions towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. 30 settlements were shelled, including Zatyshshia, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Hirke, Bilohiria in Zaporizhzhia oblast and Dudchany, Beryslav, Vesele, Vysuntsi, Inzhenerne, Kizomys, as well as the city of Kherson. As a result of two guided aerial bombs hitting the settlement of Kizomys, more than 10 civilian houses were damaged, 2 of them completely destroyed. The local church and other civilian infrastructure were also destroyed.

The enemy continues to use children’s educational institutions of the temporarily occupied and seized territories for its own purposes. There are some military facilities in them, hiding behind a “human shield” of children and teaching staff. 

In the village of Urzuf, Mariupol region, Donetsk oblast, up to 200 servicemen of the russian occupation forces from among the mobilized were deployed in one of the children’s camps.

russian invaders continue to loot Ukraine. In the village of Kardashynka, Skadovsk region, Kherson oblast, russian occupation troops are searching houses at night, stealing household appliances and cars from civilians. 

Aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 5 strikes on buildups of occupiers’ personnel and military equipment, as well as 1 strike on an anti-aircraft missile system.

Rocket and artillery units hit an anti-aircraft missile system, a buildup of personnel and military equipment, and a radar station of russian aggressors.


The Office of the President informs that russia illegally deported 19,391 children. The problem of deportation of underage Ukrainian citizens is extremely acute.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reports that 87 Ukrainians were evacuated from Sudan along with citizens of Georgia and Peru. A total of 138 people were rescued.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that at least 14 settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under russian shelling. 

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at a Cabinet meeting that the government has identified six settlements, including Tsyrkuny in Kharkiv oblast, to be rebuilt according to new principles.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informs that the enemy struck in the center of Kupiansk. The building of the Museum of Local Lore was hit. As a result of a russian attack with an S-300 missile, 10 civilians were injured. Tthe acting head of Kupiansk police department says that the women who were killed by a missile attack on the museum in Kupiansk were 54 and 57 years old. Viktor Zabashta, Director of the Emergency Medical Aid Center, informs that 5 people wounded in the shelling of Kupiansk remain in hospital, three are in moderate condition and two in light condition. These are people aged 45 to 67, with internal organ damage, head injuries and fractures

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine, reports that in Dnipro, a soldier from Kharkiv oblast had a bullet and bone fragments removed from his head using a neurosurgical microscope. 

Oleh Petryk, Chief of staff of the 27th Rocket Artillery Brigade, reports that a stele was unveiled near Shebelynka in Kharkiv oblast in honor of the soldiers of the 27th Artillery Brigade who fell there a year ago. Six defenders were killed when they were reloading the Uragan multiple rocket launcher system, while the russian military struck the position with Tochka-U.

Over the past day, at least 18 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy fire. Topoli, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Kindrashivka, Masiutivka and others were shelled. After 11:30, the enemy attacked Dvorichna, Kupiansk region. A 60-year-old woman was killed during the artillery shelling. At 18:00, the town of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, was under enemy mortar fire. There were no casualties or serious damage. 

Humanitarian demining of the oblast continues. The SES bomb squad defused 87 ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar wrote in Telegram that the fighting that is currently taking place in Donbas is a continuous dynamic process and movement on both sides: Ukrainian and Russian. That is why the military reports only on the results of the “completed operation”. 

Oleksandr Syrsky, iColonel General, Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs that for assaults on Bakhmut, the russians have improved their tactics, formed units to compensate for losses, and are actively using drones and gadgets to coordinate their actions. Despite the difficult situation, there are several important reasons to keep Bakhmut. 

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, says that rhe russian army lost tens of thousands of Wagner mercenaries on the Bakhmut frontline. This group is no longer able to fulfill the tasks set by the kremlin’s military leadership without the support of the russian regular army.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation has sent 100 kamikaze drones funded by volunteers towards Bakhmut.

Towards Volnovakha, russian units fired 5 times at Novoukrainka and 3 times at Prechystivka. No one was injured.

Towards Donetsk, there were 6 attacks on Kurakhove community – a school, a 2-storey building and 15 private houses were damaged. A house was damaged in Novobakhmutivka of Ocheretyne community. Avdiivka was shelled with artillery and Grad in the evening – houses on 5 streets were damaged.

Towards Horlivka, 3 people were wounded in Niu York, and a school in Chasiv Yar community was damaged. The outskirts of Illinivka community came under fire.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 houses in Lyman community were damaged: in Yampil and Torske.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informs that russian soldiers killed 2 residents in Shakhtarske. Another 13 people were wounded in the oblast.

Luhansk oblast

It should be noted that the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towards Lyman on April 24, while towards Kupiansk it continues to fortify its positions in certain areas.

Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the russians.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration says that humanitarian hubs that receive and provide assistance to IDPs from Luhansk oblast will soon start providing more services and function as ASCs. 

Luhansk Military Administration informs that the enemy is building fortifications and continues to deploy military hospitals in the occupied territory. Humanitarian aid was delivered to the liberated Nevske and Novoliubivka. In Khrustalne a military hospital was established in the city hospital. In Holubivka, occupiers use one of the schools as a medical center.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The regional military administration reported that Kaja Kallas, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, visited Kyiv oblast. Kaja Kallas visited the most destroyed streets and the monument to Taras Shevchenko shot by russian troops in Borodianka. In Bucha she visited the mass graves of civilians killed by the russian military.

Residents of Kyiv and the oblast have been warned about explosions due to scheduled demolition works. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, EOD specialists will dispose explosive devices in Vyshhorod and Bucha regions.

The photo exhibition “Alone” dedicated to the wives of the fallen Heroes will be held in Kyiv from 27 to 30 April at the Holodomor Museum. This photo project was initiated and implemented by the Memorial memory platform, whose team collects data on civilians and soldiers killed in the war and does everything to preserve the memory of every person whose life was taken by the russian military.

An exhibition “With Ukraine in our Hearts” dedicated to Belarusian volunteers who died in combat against russian aggression was opened at the Kyiv City State Administration. The exhibition features 16 portraits of Belarusian heroes who were killed in Ukraine, stories of their lives and deeds. According to Aleksei Frantskevich, Head of the Free Belarus Charitable Foundation, 37 Belarusian heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine are already known, while two soldiers are currently in russian captivity.

Mariupol Orchestra will perform a new concert programme called “Diamonds” at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. The concert will be held within the framework of the NFU project “Philharmonic of the Unconquered” aimed at supporting musicians from the temporarily occupied and frontline Ukrainian territories.

The Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Kyiv City State Administration reported that despite all the challenges, the work of the capital’s green economy continues non-stop. Over the past two years, overhaul and reconstruction work has been carried out at 86 green infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, and more than 17 K trees and about 145 K shrubs have been planted.

Zhytomyr oblast

Communities of Zhytomyr oblast have received over UAH 45 million in compensation, including UAH 34 million in aid from international organizations, including the Red Cross Society. The programme provides state compensation for housing and communal services to homeowners and organizations that have accommodated IDPs. 

According to Borys Pakholiuk, Director of the City Development Agency of Zhytomyr City Council, more than €12 million will be raised in loans from KFW, the German State Development Bank, for a thermal renovation project in forty educational institutions. According to him,  a loan to two Ukrainian cities – Zhytomyr and Zaporizhzhia – for a total of EUR 25 million has been pre-approved.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on April 24, the russian army shelled 7 communities in Sumy oblast, inflicting 83 hits. 6 hits were recorded in Myropillia region: 3 houses and a shop were damaged. The enemy shelled the village with mortars and artillery: in total, there were 10 hit. As a result, a residential building and a warehouse were damaged. There were 8 artillery strikes in Shalyhyne community. The russians fired 32 mortar bombs on the territory of Bilopillia regiont. 15 mortar bombs were launched at Znob-Novhorodske community, 3 more bombs – at Yunakivka community. 9 artillery shells exploded in Seredyna-Buda region. Dry vegetation caught fire in one of the settlements of the oblast due to enemy fire, but the State Emergency Service extinguished the fire.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that before noon, the enemy opened fire twice on the village of Korenok, Shostka region. According to the preliminary information, there were 7 hits  fired from mortars.

In Trostyanets, a war-affected stadium holds a charity event to rebuild it. A charity auction is being held on the Instagram page of the Volodymyr Kuts Stadium. Participants have the opportunity to receive a ball signed by such Ukrainian football stars as Andriy Shevchenko, Ihor Belanov, and Oleh Blokhin.

Valerii Pastushenko, a Ukrainian parkour record holder, trains displaced children in Konotop free of charge. Classes are held three times a week at Konotop Lyceum. The athlete, who set a record of 37 somersaults in 41 seconds in 2013, says that children should be engaged in sports, especially at a time like this. All children from IDP families are welcome to join the classes.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that yesterday, the enemy shelled Novhorod-Siversk community in Chernihiv oblast. The russian military launched 13 shells from self-propelled artillery systems on the village of Hremyach.

In the morning, the enemy attacked the border of the oblast again – Semenivka community came under fire. On the territory of Leonivka village, 5 hits allegedly from mortars were recorded.

According to Varva settlement territorial community, more than 200 residents received help from volunteers. Food parcels came from Kyiv Volunteer Charitable Foundation and were handed over to the most vulnerable members of the community.

A charity concert and an auction in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in Chernihiv. Serhii Asafatov, author and performer of Ukrainian songs, held an auction during his performance, where musical instruments and a Ukrainian flag signed by the defenders of Bakhmut were among the items on sale. The funds raised will be sent to the military.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

On April 25, russian terrorists dropped shells from a UAV and fired from cannon artillery at two settlements of Marhanets community in Nikopol region. Two private houses and an outbuilding were damaged.

In Dnipro, an extremely complicated operation was performed to remove the bullet and fragments of the occipital bone, which were deeply embedded in the brain, from a wounded soldier’s head. The man has regained consciousness and is going to undergo rehabilitation treatment.

The oblast military administration reported that the frontline communities of Dnipropetrovsk oblast will receive assistance from the U-LEAD to restore the property destroyed by the russians. Transport, tools, and building materials will be provided.

Kryvyi Rih Regional Military Administration reported that more than 83,100 internally displaced persons have been registered in the region. More than 22,600 IDPs are children.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, the training “What to Expect from a Soldier who has returned from war” will be held on April 30. The training will help understand a soldier’s feelings when he returns home. Relatives will find out how to support a soldier and avoid conflict, and learn about aggression, PTSD, isolation, and where to seek help.

The Come Back Alive Foundation has delivered 30 PKM machine guns to the fighters of the Vinnytsia-based 59th Separate Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk.

Kirovohrad oblast

On Thursday, 27 April, Kropyvnytskyi will host a sports race to draw public attention to captured soldiers. Natalia Velhun, the principal of the Kushchivska gymnasium, said that the race is aimed at drawing attention to the fact that Vadym Tokar from Kropyvnytskyi and Ihor Rudyi, a graduate of Pervozvanivka school, are still in russian captivity.

Poltava oblast

Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi said that German partners will help reconstruct housing for IDPs. The project will be implemented by the city authorities together with the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund with the assistance and financial support of the German government through KFW Development Bank. Experts are currently inspecting the building to determine the amount of funding.

Residents of Kremenchuk have filed a lawsuit against russia regarding their forced relocation. They demand to establish the facts of forced relocation and recover moral damages in excess of UAH 1 million.

On 25 April, “The War Is Not Over Yet” exhibition was opened on Teatralna Square in the centre of Poltava. Several stands featured information about russia’s crimes against Ukrainian and foreign media professionals. According to the Institute of Mass Information, 509 such crimes have been reported since the beginning of the full-scale war. The occupiers have killed 51 journalists. In particular, 8 were killed while performing an editorial task. At least 17 were injured.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy City Council will allocate UAH 20.4 million to purchase drones for the military. With these funds, officials plan to purchase 50 DJI Mavic quadcopters and equipment for our defenders. 

The head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ukraine. They discussed further cooperation and the necessary reinforcement for the oblast.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Zaporizhzhya RMA, the russian army fired 111 times at the territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, targeting Hulyaypole, Orikhiv, and Zaliznychne. The russians used artillery, MLRS, aviation, and UAVs. Two people were injured.

The russian army uses Zaporizhzhia NPP as an ammunition depot, where they store equipment and conduct training. They use forced passportization, create fake trade unions, offer subsidies, etc. 

The russian occupiers are trying to evacuate the residents of the temporarily occupied territories, while all exits to the Ukrainian side are closed.  

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, reported that in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, russians digging trenches came across a cattle burial ground and contracted anthrax. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on April 24, at 19:50, the enemy fired artillery from the direction of the Kinburn Spit at the waters of Ochakiv community. There were no casualties or damage.

Ukraine has received two more mechanized demining vehicles from the Howard Buffett Foundation, which will be handed over to sappers in Mykolaiv oblast. The first two similar machines are already operating and have proven their effectiveness.

Neo-Eco Ukraine, with the support of Neo-Eco France, has begun analyzing the destruction of residential buildings in Mykolaiv oblast as a result of russian aggression, with a view to further recycling and producing building materials.

Odesa oblast

Three industrial heavy-duty diesel generators arrived at Vyzyr village council. The equipment was delivered as an aid to the community from the USAID Hoverla International Project, which works to support local governments and decentralization reform in Ukraine.

At the end of April, Odesa Resilience Gallery will host a photo exhibition “Alone” dedicated to the wives and families of the fallen heroes. This project aims to support thousands of Ukrainian women who have lost loved ones in the war. The photo project was initiated and implemented by the Memorial memory platform.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, russian aviation dropped two guided bombs on Kizomys in the Bilozerka community. Eleven residential buildings, two shops, a church, garages and a car were damaged. Preliminary, there are no dead or wounded. The village lost power and the gas pipeline was damaged,” said Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, russian occupiers fired 61 times at civilian settlements in Kherson oblast. They fired 386 shells from artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars, tanks, ATGMs, drones and aircraft. russians attacked Kherson 6 times, firing 39 shells at the city. The building of a public organization was hit. In Novooleksandrivka community, russians hit a kindergarten. 

Kherson Oblast State Emergency Service reported that on April 24, fires broke out in two settlements of Kherson oblast as a result of russian strikes. One of the shells hit the building of a children’s and youth center in Beryslav. After a massive shelling of the village of Kizomys, several residential buildings caught fire. Rescuers extinguished the fires in the village within four hours.

Electricity supply has been restored in the village of Davydiv Brid of Velyka Oleksandrivka community. This is the 156th settlement to receive electricity since the beginning of the de-occupation of the region.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Khersonoblenergo received two power transformers from Lithuania and equipment from Germany to repair power lines. In total, 230 tons of equipment. They are needed to carry out restoration work in the region.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The City Council of Lutsk reported that three generators, four Starlink satellite modems, a DJI Mavic 3 fly more combo quadcopter and 4 control panels and glasses for it were sent to the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. The soldiers were also given 50 memory cards and a camouflage net woven by the employees of the Administrative Services Center.

In Lutsk, the former educational and laboratory building of Lutsk National Technical University is being transformed into a dormitory for IDPs. The reconstruction is financed by NEFKO providing UAH 1, 660, 000 in non-refundable financial assistance.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA  handed over the 3th degree Order For Courage to the wife of the fallen Hero Dmytro Maznyi. He served in the Azov regiment, retired in 2017, but after the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he stood up for the defense of Ukraine.

The project “Preparing Women for Entrepreneurship in War Conditions” started in Uzhhorod on the initiative of Peter Bober, vice president of the sister city of Corvallis. Consultations are scheduled for women who are running a business, but need additional information and support in war conditions.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, announced that 2 drones were transferred from the community to the front line.

Lviv oblast

As part of the Together to Victory charity auction in Lviv, it was possible to collect UAH 791K to provide for 80 separate airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Nasha Halychyna CF, the Lviv Regional Military Administration and Pustomytiv Community, a car was sent to the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

For the fifth time, a charity festival in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in Krasnensk community, organized by the employees of the communal institution of the Krasnensk settlement council Centre of Culture and Leisure. Over UAH 30K collected was donated to the military.

Lvivteploenergo received a mobile modular boiler room that runs on firewood worth UAH 2.7 million from the American fund USAID.

During the commemoration of the soldiers who were killed in hostilities, in Zolochiv, Vasyl Nychvyd was posthumously awarded with the 3th degree Order For Courage. The commander of the rifle company, the acting deputy commander of the 64th battalion of the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was killed during the offensive-assault operations in Donetsk oblast on September 25, 2022.

The family of Ihor Ryhel, a resident of the village of Kholodnovidka, Lviv region, who was killed in the war with russia, sent a car for one of the airborne assault brigades. This car was purchased for Ihor, but they did not have time to hand it over. The brigade also received a Mavic quadcopter from the Zimnovodov village council.

A mini-football tournament dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian defender Ivan Matlyak was organized in Strii region. A compatriot was a player of the Legion team in Slavske. The soldier was killed in April 2022. He was posthumously awarded with the 3th Order For Courage.

Medical volunteers from Altenburger Ukrainehilfe e.V. German visited Mykolaiv community of Strii region. They examined children with disabilities who are undergoing treatment in the complex rehabilitation department of the Center for the provision of social services of the Mykolaiv City Council.

Health care institutions that provide primary medical care in Staryi Sambor, Rudky, Biskovichi and Dobromylia received 4 cars to provide assistance to children thanks to the Lviv RMA, at the expense of UNICEF.

Hakan Ahir, famous Turkish surgeon, once again visited the Western Ukrainian Children’s Specialized Medical Center. In one day, he conducted 15 consultations and operated on three patients with plastic defects of the face and other parts of the body.

Rivne oblast

The RMA signed a memorandum with four public organizations to create an evacuation center for IDPs. A single space will coordinate all the needs of IDPs.

A car was purchased for a fellow villager-defender in Kurozvany. Charity fairs were held to collect the funds. Students of the local lyceum and kindergarten volunteered most actively. In total, UAH 137K was collected. The purchased car was repaired, painted and sent to the defender with charms, pictures and products. Mykola Bursak is currently fighting the occupiers as part of the East unit.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil oblast received medical humanitarian aid, namely, medicines, surgical instruments, medical implants, materials for prosthetics, and bandages, for over UAH 16 million provided by the Government of the Czech Republic.

A soviet tank is being sold in Chortkiv to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The T-34 was removed from the pedestal last year. In April 2022, local residents voted to sell the tank at auction and raise money for the needs of the military.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A safety classroom was opened at Krupetsk Lyceum to teach students the rules of fire and mine safety, traffic rules, actions in emergency situations and basic first aid.

Chernivtsi oblast

Italian volunteers once again visited Chernivtsi bringing humanitarian aid and an ambulance to shelter people with disabilities at the base of the Turbota Center.

Ukraine received the third tranche in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion as part of large-scale macro-financial assistance for 2023. The total volume of preferential financing from the EU under the specified program reaches EUR 18 billion. Ukraine received the first tranche in the amount of EUR 3 billion in January 2023, the second tranche in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion came to the state budget in March of this year. Thus, the total amount of direct budget support from the EU in 2023 reached EUR 6 billion.

US Army Major General William Hartman stated that the US sent hackers to Ukraine to help fight russian cyberattacks.

The FC Batel from the Brazilian state of Parana will bear the name and colors of the FC Mariupol until the city is freed from russian occupation.
