War in Ukraine today: latest news, April 19, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 420th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to ignore the International Humanitarian Law by launching strikes and shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops, and the civilian infrastructure of various settlements, terrorising civilians. 

The enemy launched 3 missiles and 37 air strikes, including the use of 12 Shahed-136 UAVs. 10 of them were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders. In addition, the enemy launched 57 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements, killing and wounding civilians, destroying and damaging private houses and other civilian infrastructure.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

Sustaining heavy losses, the enemy continues to focus on offensive operations towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka. Over 40 enemy attacks were repelled in the above-mentioned frontline areas. The fiercest fighting is for Bakhmut and Mariinka.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Sloboda, there were no significant changes. The enemy shelled the settlements of Boyaro-Lezhachi, Iskryskivschyna, Volfyne, Katerynivka, and Kindrativka, Sumy oblast, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Petropavlivka, Karaichne, Zemloanky, and Odradne, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Berestove, Kharkiv oblast, came under enemy artillery fire.

Towards Lyman, the enemy attempted to improve its tactical situation and conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of the southern outskirts of Kreminna. Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Kuzmyne, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, Ivanivka, and Verkhniokamianske, Donetsk oblast, were shelled with artillery.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continues its offensive operations. 

Heavy fighting for the city of Bakhmut is underway. Fedorivka, Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Druzhba, and Zalizne, Donetsk oblast, were shelled by the enemy.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy attempted offensives in the vicinities of Avdiivka, Vodiane, and Pervomaiske, Donetsk oblast, to no success. The invaders shelled Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Netaylove, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske.

Towards Mariinka, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the vicinities of Mariinka and Pobieda, Donetsk oblast. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka came under enemy fire.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts at offensive operations in the vicinity of Vuhledar. The invaders shelled Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is on the defensive. At the same time, the invaders shelled more than 30 settlements. Among them are Vremivka, Novopil, Donetsk oblast, Burlatske, Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, Havrylivka, Beryslav, Vesele, Antonivka, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson. 

In the village of Kabychivka, Luhansk oblast, the so-called “authorities” received an order to set up a military hospital for the occupiers with 40 beds on the territory of the village cultural centre. Russian military doctors are expected to arrive at the newly established medical facility by the end of the week. 

The enemy continues to use the civilians of the temporarily occupied territories for its own purposes, using them as human shields to hide behind. Thus, in the city of Skadovsk, Kherson oblast, the russian occupiers are forcing all collaborators and those cooperating with them as of 18 April to sign a commitment to not travel outside the district. 

The Ukrainian Air Defense Force launched 7 air strikes on the buildups of the occupiers’ troops. In the meantime, rocket and artillery troops hit 2 buildups of troops, weapons, and military equipment, as well as 2 ammunition depots of the enemy.


The Ministry of Health reported that the government adopted a resolution on the creation of non-staff military medical commissions on the basis of civilian medical institutions. Their number and list, taking into account the current load, will be determined by the leadership of the Regional Military.

According to the head of Donetsk RMA, Pavlo Kyrylenko, one child was evacuated from Avdiivka. He also added that the parents hide their children from the authorities to not be forced to evacuate. Two more children remain under constant shelling. 

An unannounced inspection was successfully conducted at Rivne and Khmelnytskyi NPPs. This was reported by the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine. The inspections took place within the framework of the Agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA on the application of guarantees related to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, at least 12 settlements were under russian attack. Specifically, Strilecha, Novomlynsk, and Dvorichna were targeted.

Press service of the city council reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about 4,400 applications for demining have been registered in Kharkiv and more than 2,400 explosive ordnance have been found. The city council considers Northern Saltivka, Rohan residential area, Mala Danylivka, Piatykhatky and Zhukovskoho settlements to be the most dangerous due to the mine danger.

The market in Vovchansk is almost 90% destroyed. According to the head of the Vovchansk Military Administration, Tamaz Hambarashvili, russians dropped two aerial bombs on the city.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed that during search and rescue operations at the site of the air strike in Vovchansk, the bodies of 2 dead civilians were found, a 50-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.

A humanitarian cargo of medicines has been delivered to 37 medical institutions in Kharkiv oblast. This assistance was provided by the American Direct Relief charity.

Yesterday, the enemy continued to massively shell civilian infrastructure and civilians in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupyansk districts.

The night before, russians launched an airstrike on Vovchansk. Two residential buildings, outbuildings and a market were damaged. A large-scale fire broke out with about 60 trade pavilions on fire.

As a result of the shelling, a married couple of 68 and 54 years old were injured. They received medical assistance on the spot. Information about the number of casualties is being clarified.

At least 5 residential buildings were damaged and an 18-year-old girl injured in Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region as a result of hostile shelling. She was hospitalised in a moderate condition.

A 77-year-old woman was injured as a result of shelling in Dvorichna settlement, Kupiansk region. She was hospitalised in a serious condition.

The mine danger remains high. In Balakliia, Izium region, a 60-year-old woman stepped on a Butterfly anti-personnel mine downtown. She was hospitalised with shrapnel wounds of moderate severity.

Donetsk oblast

Around midnight, russians launched a missile attack on Druzhkivka, causing minor damage to the hospital building.

Towards Donetsk, Avdiivka was shelled with Grad and artillery, causing no casualties but some damage.

Towards Horlivka, one person was killed and 7 apartment buildings and 3 private buildings damaged in Bakhmut. In Kostiantynivka community, the outskirts of Kostiantynivka and Predtechyne were under attack. In addition, there was shelling of the outskirts of Illinivka community. In Soledar community, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Minkivka, Fedorivka and Minkivka were targeted.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings were destroyed, a school and a shop damaged in Pereizne, Zvanivka community.

A photo exhibition dedicated to Soledar was opened today in Pokrovsk. The exhibition presents the works of our fellow countrymen – photographer Oleksandr Parkhomenko and press officer of the 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, Iryna Rybakova. Their works depict Soledar as it was before the full-scale invasion, russian armed aggression, with all its terrible aftermath, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine as brave and professional.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed 1 civilian in Bakhmut. 13 people were injured.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy continues to fire massively from artillery of various calibres. On our frontline, russians launch more shells almost every day than anywhere else. And more and more often civilians, who still remain in the frontline settlements, suffer from this. Last night an elderly woman was injured. She suffered a mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to her thigh. She was hospitalised in a hospital in Donetsk oblast. People see the deaths of their neighbours and relatives and still refuse to leave to safe regions.

Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka were also shelled with artillery. The enemy tried to improve the tactical situation near Dibrova, where they conducted unsuccessful offensive actions.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that russians are planning to expand the staff of the so-called “law enforcement agencies” in the occupied territory.

In Luhansk oblast, soldiers of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslavsk Brigade destroyed a russian tank. They added that this was the second tank destroyed in a few days.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Denys Shmyhal, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft agreement with Citibank to receive €31 million for the reconstruction of six bridges and overpasses in Kyiv oblast. This will improve logistics and allow people to return to their life on the de-occupied territories.

Representatives of the French Embassy visited the military camp in Hostomel. Among the delegation members were Etienne de Poncins, the Ambassador of France to Ukraine, Benjamin Constant, one of the founders of Neo-Eco, and CEO Kyrylo Chernyshuk. The guests inspected dismantling of destroyed high-rise buildings and recycling of materials based on the principles of closed-loop economy, which is being carried out by Neo-Eco Ukraine.

Oksana Nechytailo, a member of the Irpin City Council, reported that a multi-storey building that was damaged by russian shells and has graffiti by the famous English artist Banksy on its wall is about to be demolished in Irpin. According to her, the work of art will be separately dismantled and preserved.

In Kyiv oblast, 200 border guards donated more than 90 litres of blood for wounded soldiers in one day, setting a record for Ukraine. Among the donors were the head of the State Border Guard Service and Mariupol defenders who had recently returned from captivity.

In the face of russia’s full-scale invasion, the number of food and non-food outlets in Kyiv has decreased by 6% and now stands at 7,168. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, last year, in order to provide the population with food, about 52 fairs were held in the capital every week, where more than 18,000 tonnes of agricultural products and other foodstuffs were sold.  

Memorial concert will be held in Bucha in memory of all fallen soldiers and civilians killed and tortured due to russian military aggression. The art event “BUCHA: LACRIMOSA”, initiated by the National House of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine, will be held on April 25 in the Church of St Andrew the First-Called. A mass grave of civilians killed by the russian military during the occupation of Bucha was located on the territory of the church.

Zhytomyr oblast

A train with 25 evacuated residents of Donetsk oblast, forced to leave their homes due to the increasing hostilities in the oblast, arrives at the railway station in Berdychiv. The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that among them are residents of Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, Mariinka, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut and other settlements located in the East. IDPs will be sheltered in Andrushivka community.

There are 25 enterprises with Polish investments in Zhytomyr oblast that provide jobs for almost 10,000 residents of the communities. The total amount of Polish investment is over USD 2.5 million. According to the Regional Military Administration, Poland is one of the ten largest trade partners of Zhytomyr oblast.

More than 200 kits for child early development were received by preschools in Zhytomyr oblast as part of the In Touch Ukraine Foundation’s cross-sectoral project with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). In total, 400 such educational and developmental kits will be delivered to kindergartens in the oblast.

Sumy oblast

The russians shelled 6 border communities – Richkivka, Yunakivka, Nova Sloboda, Bilopillia, Esman, and Seredyno-Buda. In total, 165 mortar bombs, artillery shells and grenade launcher rounds were recorded. Two women were wounded during the shelling of the village of Rychky. One of the injured women died in an ambulance. A man was wounded in Yunakivka community due to the attack from a grenade launcher. Due to terrorist russian shelling, communities have suffered severe damage – 6 private households and outbuildings were damaged.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, at night, the enemy launched a grenade launcher attack on the outskirts of Seredyno-Buda. There were 3 shells recorded.

As a result of russian shelling, 39 facilities in 26 healthcare institutions were damaged in Sumy oblast. According to the Regional Military Administration, 2 outpatient clinics and 1 paramedic and obstetric unit were completely destroyed, and 6 buildings were heavily damaged. As of today, 10 medical facilities have been fully restored, and 13 have been partially restored.

More than 400 tonnes of toxic substances were released into the air as a result of a missile strike on Shostka on March 9, 2023. The State Ecological Inspectorate reported that as a result of the russian strike, a fire broke out at one of the enterprises, covering more than 5,000 m2. This led to the release of carbon dioxide, sulfur and nitrogen, copper, nickel, cadmium and other toxic substances into the air. According to environmental inspectors, this caused environmental damage of over UAH 2.5 million.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, yesterday, russian SU-35 fighters carried out an airstrike on the territory of Semenivka community. Also, hostile fire with the use of 120 mm mortars was recorded on the territory of the community. There were 4 explosions.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, work continues to eliminate the consequences of shelling in the border settlements of the Novhorod-Siversk community. Residents of the villages of Hremyach, Muravy, Mikhalchyna Sloboda and Buchky, who suffer from constant enemy shelling, received bread machines, radios, food and hygiene kits. In the near future, the villages will be provided with free bread from Chernihiv Bakery No. 2, which received flour from the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a russian serviceman who shot at civilians was served a notice of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war. According to the investigation, on March 2, 2022, a russian serviceman, being on a street in the village of Syberezh, opened fire with an assault rifle in the direction of local residents. As a result of this attack, a woman received a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

According to Viacheslav Chaus, the head of the Regional Military Administration, a delegation paid a visit to Chernihiv within the framework of the International Summit of Communities and Regions on the basis of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine. The guests inspected healthcare and educational institutions that had been damaged or destroyed by the enemy and visited the places of the most massive abuse and murder of residents of the oblast during the russian occupation.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak reported that air defence forces destroyed a russian drone over Dnipropetrovsk oblast at night. 

In the afternoon, Mykola Lukashuk, head of the DRC, reported that the russians attacked Synelnykove region in the afternoon. They attacked Velykomykhailivka community.  The shelling damaged 2 administrative buildings and a car. Nikopol region was attacked again. The enemy shelled Chervonohryhorivka community with artillery and MRLS Grad. A private enterprise and solar panels were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ An off-road vehicle, an ambulance and two vans were jointly purchased and delivered to the frontline by volunteers from Vinnytsia, Lithuania and Norway. The vehicles are second-hand and were purchased abroad.

Foster families, city libraries, teenage clubs and others received more than 200 boxes of stationery for development and rehabilitation provided by international partners – the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine – in cooperation with the city centre of social services.

Kirovohrad oblast

The city council reported that the British city of Bath has donated a modern ambulance to the city’s children’s hospital. This is a specialised vehicle equipped with medical equipment to transport the patients safely and comfortably.

Poltava oblast

The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, reported that a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was held in Poltava. The President visited Ukrainian soldiers undergoing treatment, talked to them and presented awards.  The region has also purchased powerful equipment for the Centre, including a unique Walkbot device with robotic orthoses for all leg joints. 

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy philanthropist Araik Mkrtchan and Khutir enterprise donated two four-wheel drive KIA and Hyundai vehicles to Ukrainian defenders. One vehicle was purchased for the 118th Brigade of the Cherkasy Tank Corps, and the other for the 42nd Brigade. Two quadcopters were also delivered along with the vehicles.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the communities of Zaporizhzhia region on the contact line suffered 93 artillery attacks. The enemy also carried out 4 air strikes, 1 from a UAV and 3 from MLRS. Orikhiv suffered an air attack: today terrorists hit the civilian sector with a bomb, damaging private houses and property. Specialists are already working at the site of the hit and eliminating the aftermath. There were no casualties.

The russians are illegally “nationalizing” the homes of local residents who have left the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers first found empty apartments, and now they are hanging signs on their doors saying “the property has signs of mismanagement.” The situation is similar in Berdiansk. The telegram channel of the Berdiansk Partisan Army (BPA) published a video of the occupiers breaking into someone’s empty apartment and walking around like a master among the property of people who were forced to temporarily leave.

The russian occupation forces and local “leaders” appointed by the occupiers continue to export grain from Ukraine, using the sea gate of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, the Berdiansk seaport.

Russian soldiers have begun to remove property from the Popov Estate Museum in the temporarily occupied town of Vasylivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Popov’s estate is an architectural marvel, a palace and park ensemble of the second half of the nineteenth century. The enemy once again confirms its title of the largest army of looters in the world.

Mykolaiv oblast

The invaders launched mortar and artillery attacks on the water area and the coast of the Ochakiv community in Mykolaiv district.

270,000 hectares of fields in Mykolaiv oblast will not be sown this year because of the hostilities that took place in the region. However, other areas suitable for sowing in Mykolaiv oblast are already being cultivated. In many cases, farmers are clearing their fields of mines themselves as much as possible, as there are not enough sappers and the areas are large.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated three modular boiler houses to Mykolaivoblteploenergo, a municipal utility company, two with a capacity of 350 kW and one with a capacity of 500 kW. The boilers will function as a backup source of heat for Mykolaiv’s medical institutions.

Odesa oblast

The Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that on the night of April 19, russian occupation forces attacked Odesa region with Iranian-made Shahid-136 kamikaze drones. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 10 Shahids at once last night. In total, the enemy launched 12 drones from the Sea of Azov. As a result of this attack, a recreational infrastructure facility was hit. Rescue services quickly extinguished the fire. There were no casualties.

The nighttime russian drone attack on Odesa oblast had no consequences for the power system and did not lead to the need to limit consumption. Electricity generation fully meets the needs of consumers. The power system maintains a sufficient power reserve. Electricity exports to Slovakia, Poland and Moldova continue.

There will be no vacation season in Odesa region this year. The reason is the need to clear the Black Sea of mines. The UIA announced the opening of recreation areas with indoor pools. This ban will last until Ukraine wins the war against russia.

As part of the Grain Deal, Ukraine and Turkey agreed to renew the registration of ships in the Bosphorus that call at Odesa ports to load grain. Since April 10, russia has stopped registering new incoming fleets and refused to work according to the plans of Ukrainian ports. This effectively stopped the entry of new vessels under the Grain Initiative.

Kherson oblast

The Kherson Military Administration reported that the russian military attacked a bus fleet in Kherson. The shelling damaged several municipal vehicles. No civilians were injured. The morning in Nova Kakhovka also started with shelling.

A tractor driver hit a mine in Beryslav district. The incident occurred on a field road between two settlements – Tryfonivka and Borozenske. The man was on a tractor, which at some point hit an unknown explosive device. As a result of the explosion, the tractor driver was injured and hospitalized.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, the russians confiscate boats from local residents. They want to hand these vehicles over to the russian army. It is worth recalling that before the liberation of Kherson, the russian occupiers fled to other temporarily occupied territories by boat.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, visited the border area in Volyn oblast, met with Ukrainian border guards and held a meeting with the RMA. They discussed the arrangement and protection of the state border, the socio-economic and current security situation in the oblast, the arrangement of fortification and defense engineering structures.

A charity evening in memory of Hero Oleh Khryschuk, killed in battles with russian invaders near Bakhmut, was held in the Taras Shevchenko Volyn Regional Musical Theater. The event was organized by Tetiana Khryschuk, wife of the fallen hero, and the Department of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth of the Lutsk City Council. During his lifetime Oleh Khryschuk was a talented artist who worked in the bas-relief technique.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the Romanian delegation. Romania has changed over 30 laws to help Ukrainians since the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.

The RMA met with representatives of the federal state of Burgenland of the Republic of Austria. The results of such work and further steps in joint activities were discussed. Zakarpattia and the federal land of Burgenland of the Republic of Austria have cooperated for over a year.

The RMA reported that four fast cars, transferred by the Austrian federal state of Burgenland, Zakarpattia were sent to the liberated settlements Kyiv oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that humanitarian aid for the energy sector will arrive in Prykarpattia from Finland.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that this year, UAH 14 million will be allocated from the regional budget to furnish the offices of “Defense of Ukraine“. Over UAH 2 million will be allocated for the arrangement of shooting ranges in vocational and technical and professional pre-higher education institutions.

Yavor region received an ambulance, fully equipped with the necessary equipment for first aid, from the Cargill Animal Nutrition company.

Sambir region received a Volkswagen Crafter ambulance thanks to funds of benefactors.

From Drohobych, a truck with hygiene products and basic necessities was sent to the church of the Kharkiv Exarchate of the UGCC. There it will be distributed among people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.

On the eve of Easter, students of the 1st grade of the Lyceum named after Lesya Ukrainka from Drohobych and Stanyli elementary school in Truskavets community collected holiday baskets for soldiers who are undergoing rehabilitation due to serious injuries in one of the medical institutions.

In the village of Stankiv, memorial plaques in honor of the fallen Heroes of the russian-Ukrainian War were opened and consecrated on the building of the local school. Mykhailo Yaremchak and Viktor Nalapshiy were graduates of this educational institution.

IDPs living in Drohobych region visited Ivano-Frankivsk oblast last week. The excursion tour was organized within the project “Your Shore. A Safe Space for Women and Girls“, the NGO “Women’s Perspectives” and the International Medical Corps.

The festival “Faine Misto: Stories Worth Hearing” will take place this year on July 28-30 in Lviv. The key goal of this year’s festival is to raise funds to meet the logistical and humanitarian needs of the Azov brigade.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Miron Sycz, deputy marshal, and Bernadette Hordejuk, Head of the Sejm, from the partner region of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of Poland. Support for the veterans’ hospital was discussed.

The RMA reported that an unannounced IAEA inspection took place at the Rivne NPP. During the inspection, the nuclear material stored in the fresh fuel storage of power units was checked. The work was carried out successfully. The objectives of the inspection were achieved.

Lieutenant General Serhii Naev, Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, visited the Rivne Military Hospital. He spoke with the wounded and handed over 12 sets of portable systems SurgiBox and a modern apparatus for wound therapy XLR8 Plus to the hospital.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of local self-government bodies of the Republic of Poland. They discussed support for the oblast and further cooperation.

Serhii Nadal, Mayor of Ternopil, reported that about 700 sets of summer military uniforms for defenders were sent from the city to the front.

A memorial plaque was unveiled in Ternopil to Defender of Ukraine Roman Stetsiuk. They placed it on the facade of school No. 3, where he studied. The man was the first soldier from Ternopil who was killed after the start of the full-scale invasion.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with a delegation from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship led by Piotr Tsalbetsky, Marshal of the Voivodeship. They discussed directions of further cooperation.

An on-site meeting of the working group on support and coordination of cooperation with the Framatome company, which together with European partners launched the NPHyCo project, took place at the site of the Khmelnytsky NPP. The project considers the possibility of commercial low-carbon production of hydrogen near nuclear power plants.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the delegation of the General Council of Deputies of the Swabian District. They discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, support for Ukraine and Bukovina during the war and the implementation of social projects.

The oblast received four passenger buses from the French company Transdev Location De Vehicle. The buses were previously operated on the territory of the EU.

The oblast received 12 generators for humanitarian headquarters and volunteer organizations at cultural institutions from the International Organization for Migration.

The Chernivtsi Regional Center of Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine received 2 NE-C900 (NE-C900-E) compressor nebulizers and accessories from the AstraZeneca Ukraine LLC.

The RMA reported that Austrian partners sent ambulances for medical institutions that were destroyed as a result of armed russian aggression.

Andriy Krasovskyi, medic of Chernivtsi, got from President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Order of Danylo Halytskyi. Andriy Krasovskyi is an anesthesiologist at the City Children’s Clinical Hospital who saves Ukrainian soldiers in the war zone.

The German government reported that Patriot air defense systems from the country are already in Ukraine. According to the updates of the list of lethal and non-lethal military support of Ukraine, the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex with missiles, 16 Zetros trucks and 2 border guard vehicles were delivered.

Charlie Dietz, US Department of Defense spokesman, reported that the first M2 Bradley armored vehicles are already on the battlefield in Ukraine. The Pentagon representative did not specify when exactly the BMPs arrived in Ukraine or how many had already been sent. In total, the States promised the Armed Forces of Ukraine 113 such vehicles.

The Armed Forces of Great Britain confirmed that the United Kingdom sent a squadron of 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Six Leopard 2 tanks, which Spain promised to transfer to Ukraine, arrived at the port of Santander in the north of the country. Leopard tanks from Spain, along with other promised armored vehicles, are expected to arrive in Ukraine by the end of the month.

Flasbart, State Secretary for Development, reported that Ukraine will receive another €111 million from Germany for reconstruction. 

Kuwait allocated $1 million for the energy sector of Ukraine. The Arab country is also considering the possibility of joining the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

The US warned russia not to touch nuclear technologies at the ZNPP. The letter sent by the US Department of Energy to rosatom states that there is nuclear technical data of American origin at the ZNPP in Energodar, which is under the export control of the US government.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informed that Finland sent 13 cargoes of humanitarian aid, including power transformers, current transformers, mobile gas boilers, generators with a total weight of almost 136 tonnes, to Ukraine for the needs of the energy sector.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress. They discussed the need to increase sanctions pressure on russia, lower the price ceiling for russian oil and gas.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, announced that Ukraine and Turkey have reached an agreement on renewal of registration and inspection of vessels entering Ukrainian ports.

The Ministry of Economy reported that Ukraine and Poland agreed on the restoration of grain and agricultural goods transit.
