War in Ukraine today: latest news, April 18, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 419th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russia continues to ignore international humanitarian law, striking not only Ukrainian military positions, but also civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents. The enemy has carried out 4 rocket and 44 aviation strikes, as well as around 20 MRLS attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, resulting in civilian casualties. 

Ukraine is still under the threat of rocket and aviation strikes.

The enemy, at the cost of significant losses, continues to wage an aggressive war, focusing its efforts on offensive operations towards Luhansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol. About 30 enemy attacks have been repulsed on these fronts. The most intense fighting is taking place in Bakhmut and Mariinka. 

The operational situation towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Sloboda remains unchanged. The units of the armed forces of the republic of belarus continue to carry out tasks in border areas with Ukraine. Some units of the territorial troops of the armed forces of the russian federation remain on the territory of the republic of belarus. The enemy’s military presence in the border areas with Ukraine in the Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions continues.

The enemy has shelled the populated areas of Koreneok, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Iskriskivshchyna, and Wolfine in Sumy region, as well as Veterinarnoye, Kozacha Lopan, Hlybokoe, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Okhrimivka, and Nesterne in Kharkiv region.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy carried out artillery shelling at Kamianka, Ridkodub, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, and Zapadne, Kharkiv oblast. 

Towards Lyman, the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position by conducting unsuccessful offensive operations near the settlement of Dibrova. Artillery shelling affected Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Ivanivka, Torske, and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Toretsk, and New York, Donetsk oblast suffered from enemy shelling. 

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the areas of Stepove, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Severne, and Nevelske, Donetsk oblast, but was not successful. The enemy carried out shelling on settlements such as Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske.

Towards Mariupol, our defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks near the town of Mariinka during the day. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast were shelled by the enemy.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions. However, the populated areas of Shakhtarske, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Zaporizhizha and Kherson, the enemy is on the defensive. Novopillia in Donetsk region was shelled, as well as Olhivske, Chervone, Huliaypole, Charivne, Orihiv, Stepove, and Plavne, Zaporizhzhia region, Antonivka in Kherson region, and the city of Kherson, and there were civilian casualties.

The Air Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out 3 strikes on the enemy personnel buildup areas and an attack on the enemy’s air defense system during the day.

Rocket forces and artillery units of Ukraine hit 2 enemy manpower buildup areas, weapons, military equipment, a radio-electronic warfare station, and another important military target of the occupiers.


According to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, since the full-scale war began, Ukraine has returned 2,235 Ukrainians from russian captivity. “We remember everyone. We will return everyone,” he noted. 

Over 7,000 servicemen are considered missing, the authorized person on the issue of persons missing under special circumstances, Oleh Kotenko, reported. Approximately 60-65% are held captive, while others have been killed. 

Information regarding an interview with participants of the “Wagner” PMSC, where they reported on killing of civilians, including children, and captive members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is being verified. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General. Law enforcement agencies of foreign countries are involved in the investigation. 

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, advised that the EU Council supported “roaming without borders” for Ukraine. The final decision needs to be approved by the Association Committee in the trade component.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least 13 settlements were under russian shelling. Specifically, Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk and Dvorichna were targeted.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that there was a grand opening of the Centre for Civil Society Development. With the help of qualified trainers, free classes on mine risk, tactical medicine, psychological assistance, Ukrainian and English language courses and other educational activities will be held for everyone.

A meeting was held with the Prefect of Fier County of the Republic of Albania, Lefter Shehaj. They discussed the situation in Kharkiv oblast and our further cooperation, specifically the possibility of children from de-occupied territories of the region having rest in camps in Albania.

Ivan Sokol, director of the Regional Civil Defence Department, informed that the sappers need to clear 12,500 kilometers of power lines to restore electricity supply in the de-occupied territory of Kharkiv oblast. They plan to clear 610 kilometers by the end of April.

Referring to the Prosecutor’s Office, an 18-year-old girl was injured in the morning shelling of Petropavlivka, Kupiansk region. In Balakliia, a woman tripped a mine and later was taken to the hospital.

Yesterday, the enemy continued to shell frontline settlements in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions. In Vovchansk, which the enemy massively shelled yesterday, 8 private residential buildings were destroyed and fires broke out.

At least 4 residential buildings were damaged as a result of shelling in Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region. Two residential buildings and an outbuilding were damaged in Petropavlivka village, Chuhuiv region, as a result of shelling from multiple rocket launchers.

The shelling of Zelenyi Hai village, Izium region, damaged an infrastructure facility, an outbuilding and a residential building. There were no casualties.

Humanitarian de-mining is ongoing. Yesterday, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service examined 19.3 hectares of territory and defused 154 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Russians shelled Ukrainsk city in the morning, damaging 3 apartment buildings and 18 trade pavilions of the local central market. At least 8 people were injured in the shelling. All the injured have been taken to hospital and are receiving the necessary medical assistance.

At night, russians shelled Sloviansk using S-300 missiles and kamikaze drones.  Seven apartment buildings, 5 private buildings, an entertainment centre, a business centre and cars were damaged.

Towards Volnovakha, an agricultural enterprise in Novoukrainka was damaged, Prechystivka and Bohoiavlenka were under attack.

Towards Donetsk, russian invaders were actively firing at Avdiivka, using artillery, rockets and Grad multiple rocket launchers 4 times. Buildings on 6 streets were hit.

Towards Horlivka, 2 buildings in Toretsk community were damaged, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Minkivka, Nikiforivka and Vasiukivka of Soledar community were attacked.

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was injured in Siversk and buildings on 4 streets were damaged. There were 11 hits in Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community – no casualties.

Yesterday, russian military shelled six settlements with aircraft, S-300, Geranium UAVs, Grads and artillery, destroying and damaging 22 civilian objects. Russians attacked Avdiivka with artillery, missiles and four times with Grad MRLs. Buildings on six streets were under attack.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that russians injured one civilian in Siversk. 

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka were under artillery shelling.

Three civilians were killed and one sustained shrapnel wounds to the neck, arms and legs as a result of russian shelling of Novoiehorivka village, Svatove region. A woman born in 1977 was hospitalised in Kharkiv. Yesterday, an enemy shell hit a private building with people inside, causing a fire. Unfortunately, due to the heavy shelling, it was not possible to save people from the burning rubble.

In recent days, the enemy has been using tactical aircraft to bombard the de-occupied settlements of Svatove region almost non-stop.

Based on the information provided by the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, even the territories occupied 9 years ago remain without any amenities for weeks and sometimes months. For example, cold water supply was available for several hours a day.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Jochen Flasbart, arrived in Kyiv for a visit. “Reconstruction requires the closest coordination with the government and between partner countries. That is why I will hold many negotiations and meetings over the next two days,” Flasbart said.

The Kyiv RMA reported that under the conditions of martial law, institutions of general secondary and preschool education of the oblast provide educational services of various forms of education. 593 institutions of general secondary education work full-time and in a mixed form, 43 are distance learning, two schools are on spring vacation. As of April 17, 99.7% of general secondary education institutions of Kyiv oblast started classes after the spring vacation.

20 “Safety Classes” are already working in educational institutions of Kyiv oblast. Last week, a new modern interactive educational space was opened in the Small Academy of Sciences of Student Youth, which will give children the opportunity to acquire the skills of safe behavior, familiarize themselves with how to act during emergency situations, and learn the rules of mine and fire safety.

The Kyiv RMA reported that operational headquarters and mobile groups are being created in the oblast to manage works during floods. According to the KCMA, on April 19, special training will be held to practice organization and execution of rescue and emergency work under the conditions of an emergency during a flood.

An educational exhibition “More than me: solidarity and help in dark times” was held in Brovary. The event highlighted the stories of 10 teenagers and young adults who united with others for a common goal and did more than they had to. For two days, the Kyiv educational center Space of Tolerance trained Brovary teenagers to be guides at the exhibition, after which they conducted interactive tours for their schoolmates.

Zhytomyr oblast

In the near future, 35 adults and seven children from Donetsk oblast will arrive in Zhytomyr oblast. IDPs will find shelter in Berdychiv region. It is planned to settle them immediately in places of compact accommodation, after which everyone will be offered the opportunity to live in the private sector.

The oblast also accepts migrants who previously lived in geriatric and psychoneurological boarding houses. More than 400 such people from the destroyed institutions of Donetsk and Kharkiv regions currently live in specialized institutions of the oblast. In total, since February 24, 2022, Zhytomyr oblast has received almost 120,000 internally displaced persons. Currently, more than 66,000 IDPs live in the oblast.

Sumy oblast

As a result of enemy shelling of the village of Richky, Sumy region, a civilian – a woman – died from her injuries, and another person was injured. As reported in the Sumy RMA, the russian military struck the village 14 times with artillery and MLRS. A residential building and outbuildings were also damaged. In addition, as reported in the ‘North’ Operational Command, 5 mortar strikes were recorded in the area of the village of Korenyok and 6 – in the area of the village of Boyaro-Lezhachi.

During the past day, on April 17, the russians shelled the border communities of Velika Pysarivka, Bilopillia, Shalygine, Seredina-Buda, and Hlukhiv. As reported in Sumy RMA, a total of 59 artillery hits, 33 from mortars and 20 shots from AGS were recorded.

Over the past week, specialists of the State Emergency Service discovered 26 explosive objects and destroyed 20 of them on the territory of Sumy oblast. The works were carried out by the pyrotechnic units of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service (city of Romny).

Humanitarian aid from the Red Cross was received by residents of the Pologiv Starostat in the Okhtyrka region. Food, drinks and hygiene products were provided to disabled people of groups 1-3 and residents who were 75 years old or older. Local volunteers delivered aid to those who could not reach the distribution point.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the military of the russian federation dropped a guided aerial bomb in the area of the village of Tymonovychi of Semenivka community. Yesterday, Semenivka community came under enemy mortar fire twice, 8 explosions were recorded.

Head of the Chernihiv RMA Viacheslav Chaus announced that over the past week, the russian military shelled the outskirts of 9 border settlements of the oblast 14 times from the territory of Bryansk region, during which 67 explosions were recorded. Enemy air forces were used to destroy civilian infrastructure with guided aerial bombs: two enterprises were significantly damaged, and a civilian was injured.

According to experts’ conclusions, the Vasyl Tarnovsky Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities (Chernihiv Regional Library for Youth) was 90% destroyed by the russian military. According to the head of RMA Viacheslav Chaus, at the moment there are already plans for its reconstruction and the support of patrons. He noted that the building survived the shelling by  communists in 1918 and 1919, survived the Second World War, but could not withstand the russian barbarians in 2022.

The Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology reported that mobile teams of oncologists will work in the oblast. A team of specialists will travel to the most remote communities of the oblast and conduct consultative diagnostic procedures there. The first such trip to the city of Varva is already planned for April 29.

The canine center of the National Police in the Chernihiv oblast took six puppies for training. This need arose due to the fact that some service dogs during active hostilities experienced severe stress due to explosions and lost the ability to perform their tasks well. Young “noses” will be taught to look for drugs, explosives and search for people.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The russian troops shelled Nikopol region in Dnipropetrovsk oblast with cannon artillery once again on April, 17. One person was wounded, at least 11 houses and other buildings, as well as cars and power lines were damaged.

The RMA reports that financial aid has been distributed to the families of civilians killed in the war, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. So far, 64 families have received funds from the region. The compensation is UAH 300,000.

The wounded wife of a combatant and their unborn child are being rescued in Dnipro at Mechnikov Hospital. A 20-week pregnant officer sustained shrapnel wounds to her hand and thigh during a missile attack on her positions. 

A mine trawler was assembled in Kryvyi Rih. The machine will help clear Ukrainian land. The machine is currently being tested to determine its potential.

A large dairy farm was evacuated from near Bakhmut to Dnipro oblast: about 400 animals were transported from the war zone. After the first missile attack, about 100 cattle died, they were burned alive, some with life-threatening injuries. The animals were being transported in 11 cattle trucks during shelling.

Vinnytsia oblast

The bodies of 3 defenders, residents of Illinets, Turbiv and Kalynivka communities are being returned home.

Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that a DJI Mavic 3 copter and a night vision device were handed over to the soldiers of the Vinnytsia 59th Brigade.  They will help the defenders see the enemy’s movements and perform combat missions effectively.

Vadym Solianyk, deputy head of Zhmerynka Regional State Administration, announced that defender Yurii Nakonechnyi from Sharhorod community of Vinnytsia oblast had returned home during the big Easter prisoner exchange.

Kirovohrad oblast

Volodymyr Slinchenko, head of the Civil Protection Department of the RMA, said that most residents of Kirovohrad oblast are enrolled in the special police unit Rage (Lut’). The formation of this special unit began within the all-Ukrainian recruitment programme ‘Offensive Guard’. In addition, seven other special units were formed: one of the State Border Guard Service and six of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Poltava oblast

The head of the regional council, Oleksandr Bilenkyi, said that 6 Ukrainian defenders from Poltava oblast were returned from russian captivity during the exchange on 16 April. Soldiers Serhii Vovchenko, Vitalii Ruban and Oleksandr Bondar are from Poltava. Junior sergeant Serhii Slynko is from Lubny district, soldier Vadym Tymchenko from Myrhorod district and soldier Volodymyr Bezklynskyi from Kremenchuk region also returned home. All of them were known as missing before.

The Order “For Courage”, III class (posthumously) was presented to the relatives of the fallen serviceman Serhii Serdiuk, who was killed near Semyhirya, Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast, on 25 July 2022.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration said that 41 relocated enterprises were placed in Cherkasy oblast within the state aid programme.

Maxym Dubinsky, the 118th Brigade’s spokesman said that soldiers of the Cherkasy Territorial Defence Brigade rescued icons and crosses from a church in Donetsk oblast which had been destroyed as a result of explosions. These ancient icons will be kept in the chapel of the 118th Brigade.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, russian troops fired three times at the frontline town of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region. They attacked with incendiary shells prohibited by international law.

Russian troops fired at 19 localities in Zaporizhzhia oblast. They launched 55 artillery strikes, 2 air strikes and 4 attacks with multiple rocket launchers. The russian soldiers hit Malynivka, Plavne, Kamianske, Novodanylivka and 15 other localities.

Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that the situation on the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia NPP is gradually deteriorating, primarily in terms of technical operation of the plant. In addition, the ZNPP staff has been under constant pressure and terror from the occupiers for two years. This affects their psychological state and it becomes dangerous, because they are responsible for nuclear safety at the plant. This information was confirmed by IAEA experts.

Melitopol Mayor Oleksandr Fedorov said, residents of Melitopol enter the city with a migration card and have only 90 days to stay in the temporarily occupied Melitopol region with a Ukrainian passport. After that, they either have to get a russian passport or leave the temporarily occupied territory.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, when Snihurivka community was shelled on the night of April 18, the russian military used UAVs, 7 of which hit industrial infrastructure facilities. No information about casualties was reported.

The construction materials provided by the International Organization for Migration, IOM Ukraine, were used to repair the damaged buildings of the Snihurivka territorial community.

On April 18 the world celebrates the Day of Monuments and Sites, and Ukraine celebrates the Day of Historical and Cultural Monuments. According to the Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage Protection of Mykolaiv City Council, 23 cultural heritage sites have been damaged by russian shelling during the war in Mykolaiv. The collection and recording of the russian occupiers’ crimes aimed at destroying Ukrainian culture and history is still ongoing.

Odesa oblast

The Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that the night of 17-18 April was relatively calm in Odesa oblast, with no air raid warnings and no shelling. However, the likelihood of russian army missile and air strikes throughout the Odesa region remains high. As of 17 April, the naval grouping in the Black Sea underwent changes, with the addition of a surface missile carrier. Thus, there are now three of them with a total volley of up to sixteen “calibres”.

Representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa oblast paid a working visit to the city of Legnica in Poland. During the visit, they received humanitarian aid from foreign donors in the form of an ambulance and medical supplies.

As of the morning of 18 April, russia continues to block inspections of ships in the Bosphorus. This means that the ports of Greater Odesa participating in the Grain Initiative have been suspended.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, the russian army shelled the central part of Kherson. Enemy artillery targeted the central market. The attack damaged trade pavilions. One person was killed, 9 people received injuries of varying severity.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that russians fired 57 times at civilian settlements in Kherson region. They fired 342 shells from artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars, tanks, drones and aircraft. The enemy attacked Kherson 6 times, firing 14 shells at the city. The russians hit the territory and buildings of the children’s health camp of the Bilozerska community and the power line in  Chornobaivka community. 

The villages of Zmiivka, Novoberislav, Kizomys, and Tryfonivka were subject to a massive air attack. Rockets and bombs exploded on the territory of a field and beach, and guided aerial bombs destroyed buildings on the territory of a boarding house and a health center. 

According to the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk, at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the russian occupiers occasionally try to engage in man-made blackmail. In general, in the temporarily uncontrolled territories of Ukraine, the occupiers are trying to set up new defense lines and barriers, as they are aware of the possibility of Ukrainian forces advancing. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The regional center of the Western region of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war was created to improve interaction with the families of defenders and to solve the key tasks in Volyn oblast. Its key task is to support the families of prisoners of war and missing persons, as well as to provide assistance to those released from captivity.

Zakarpattia oblast

On April 19, foreign delegations from the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria will arrive in Zakarpattia to participate in the International Summit of Cities and Regions “Partnership for Victory” on April 19-21, 2023 (Kyiv). A working meeting of the foreign delegation with the leadership of Zakarpattia oblast is planned.

Zakarpattia will receive 7 ambulances from the Ustec and Vysochyn Regions of the Czech Republic and the VISA CF.

In the center of Zaporizhzhia, the local people placed an appreciation billboard to the fighter of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade from Zakarpattia. This way, people thanked the fighters for stopping the advance of the invaders and preventing them from capturing the city.

In Zakarpattia, recruitment for a course to prepare the population for national resistance has officially started. Training will be free of charge for all who wish. Experienced instructors and trainers will work with groups of up to 30 people. The basic course will last 3 months.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that Roman Krukhovskyi, former mayor of Tlumach, was awarded with the 3th degree Order For Courage (posthumously). Roman Krukhovskyi was killed on August 2, 2022. He headed Tlumach from 2016 to 2020.

The oblast sent an SUV to the front line thanks to the Foundation Agendum.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Jerome Pasinetti and Julien Shietkatte, representatives of the Amarante International company and Gregory Julien, Head of the European Strategic Initiative. A strategy will be developed in Lviv oblast to create safe opportunities for investments from EU countries.

Andrii Sadovy, Mayor of Lviv, and Jakob Bundsgaard, Mayor of Aarhus (the Kingdom of Denmark), signed an agreement on cooperation between the cities. Aarhus became the 20th sister city of Lviv.

The oblast sent 13 ambulances to the front line thanks to the Open Eyes (SoftServe Ukraine) CF. Each is equipped with defibrillators, stretchers, fracture splints and other items needed by frontline medics to save defenders and civilians.

Entrepreneurs from Lviv oblast are invited to training on obtaining grants. The Investment Office, UNDP in Ukraine, with the financial support of the EU, developed a training program for micro, small and medium-sized businesses.

The fire department of the A1108 military unit in Drohobych received a fire engine from the Roman Catholic Order of the Boniface Brothers and the Drohobych Regional Military Administration.

In the village of Stankiv, commemorative plaques were opened to the fallen Heroes Mykhailo Yaremchak and Viktor Nalapsh. Mykhailo Yaremchak, commander of the mechanized division, was killed last April in Luhansk oblast. Victor Nalapshiy went to the front as a volunteer in the spring of last year. He was killed in August 2022 in Kherson oblast.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Etienne de Ponsena, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine. Assistance for IDPs and farmers of the oblast was discussed. In addition, they agreed to support the Ukrainian book.

Medical and social adaptation of people with visual impairments was discussed in Rivne oblast with participation of government representatives, public organizations and war veterans. The organizer of the meeting is the “Modern View” public union.

Voluntary fire brigades of Rivne oblast received thermal clothing, namely special shoes, sets of gloves and thermal clothing, from the “Thank you from Ukraine” CF and the “Einig-Verein fur Ukrainehilfe” Austrian foundation.

Ternopil oblast

During the exchange of prisoners of war, which took place on April 16, Feskiv Mykola and Bilyk Nazarii from Chortkiv region returned home. Soldiers were deemed missing, contact with them was lost during their combat mission in Donetsk oblast.

Demonstrators continue their protest against the UOC moscow patriarchate in Ternopil. Today, activists came with photos of the fallen soldiers and observed a moment of silence in memory of the defenders on the territory of the moscow patriarchate temple.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine“, UCORD, the Agency for Regional Development (ARD) of the Khmelnytskyi Region and the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council. The purpose of the memorandum is to establish close cooperation and consolidate efforts aimed at the restoration and development of Khmelnytskyi oblast.

The RMA reported that at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, the commission of the operating organization works to verify the current state of nuclear safety. It included representatives of the Directorate of Energoatom, Rivne and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plants.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting of the Regional Coordination Council on IDPs. The creation of advisory and coordination centers under district state administrations was discussed.

The Chernivtsiovokanal company reported that Chernivtsi received 144 tons of liquid coagulant for water purification thanks to IOM Ukraine.

The German government provides grant support for micro, small and medium-sized businesses of Ukraine in the amount of up to UER 30K euros as part of the Program “Access to Financing and Support for the Sustainability of MSMEs in Ukraine“. NATO is now moving away from a strategy of “deterrence” and will increase troops on its eastern border, as well as defense spending, and clearly set out the actions of all members in the event of war.

Mariusz Kaminskyi, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, announced that the country started construction of an electronic firewall on the Polish-moscow border. A system of cameras and motion sensors will be installed on 199 kilometers of the border.
