War in Ukraine: latest news for today October 07, 2022 (photo)

It has been the 226th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information from General Staff of Ukraine as of 6 pm:

The enemy attempts to hold the ground in the temporarily occupied territories, focuses on thwarting the actions of the Armed Forces in certain directions, and continues the offensive actions towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

The enemy fires at our positions along the entire contact line, erects the defensive constructions in certain directions and conducts the aerial reconnaissance. There were enemy strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings violating the norms of the International Humanitarian Law, laws and customs of war.

The territory of Ukraine is exposed to the threat of missile and rocket strikes. The occupiers launched 2 missile and 5 air strikes, fired over 10 times from multi-rocket launch systems.

The civilians and facilities were affected by the enemy strikes in over 10 settlements, namely Ridkodub, Huliaipilske, Novoandriivka, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Slavhorod.

To strike the settlements of Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv, the enemy used 4 Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles, Shahed-136.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not significantly changed.

The enemy has been firing towards:

Siversk from mortars and barreled artillery, in the areas of Senkivka and Yasna Poliana, Chernihiv oblast, as well as Seredyna Buda, Fotovyzh, Boiaro-Lezhachy, Ryzhivka, Holyshivske, Kyianytsia, Myropillia, Mezenivka and Slavhorod of Sumy oblast;

Sloboda from tanks, mortars and artillery in the areas of Basove, Hlyboke, Vysoka Yaruha, Krasne, Strilecha, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Volokhivka and Dvorichna;

Kramatorsk from mortars, barreled and jet artillery in the areas of Terny, Raihorodok, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, Torske, Ivanivka and Hrekivka;

Bakhmut, in the areas of Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Ivanhrad, Opytne, Maiorsk, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Vesele, Zaitseve and Odradivka;

Avdiivka, in the areas of Avdiivka, Kamianka, Novobakhmutivka, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Novomykhailivka.

Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, the infrastructure in the areas of Novoukrainka, Pavlivka, Neskuchne, Chervone, Hulyaipol and Novopol was damaged by enemy shelling.

Towards the South Buh, more than twenty settlements near the contact line were affected by fire.

The Armed Forces repelled the enemy’s attacks in the area of Vyimka, Bakhmutske, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, Andriivka, Pervomaiske, Vesele, Kamianka, Pobeda, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka and Ternovi Pody.

The russian occupation authorities continue to put pressure on Ukrainian citizens who remained in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk oblast. According to available information, in some areas of the city of Horlivka, representatives of the “security forces” intimidate local residents who did not support the accession of the temporarily occupied region to the russian federation in the illegal referendum. Identification of men who avoid mobilization continues, they are detained and forcibly sent to units of the 1st Army Corps to replenish enemy losses.

According to available information, there are significant problems of material support for mobilization measures carried out by the military leadership of the russian federation. Thus, in early October, out of 8 K mobilized persons who are are staying at the Novosibirsk Higher Command School, no more than half were provided with military uniforms.

Besides, these personnel are given only field uniforms and shoes. The rest of the equipment must be purchased at their own expense or try to receive from local authorities as humanitarian aid. The issue of providing mobilized helmets and body armor remains problematic.

The russian occupiers continue to suffer losses in the south of our country. Thus, in the area of the settlement of Kakhovka, Kherson oblast, elimination of manpower and military equipment, including air defense means, was confirmed. Also, as a result of effective fire damage to the enemy’s buildup near the settlement of Borozenske, on October 5, the enemy’s losses amounted to up to 10 people killed and about 20 wounded.

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted 11 strikes. The destruction of 8 buildups of weapons and military equipment, as well as 3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy was confirmed. In addition, our air defense units shot down two UAVs and two enemy helicopters.

Rocket forces and artillery struck one buildup of manpower, weapons and military equipment, a pontoon crossing and an EW complex.

Spokesman of the Air Force Command Yurii Ignat reports that Ukraine is the first country to be armed with IRIS-T. These complexes will strengthen our air defense system. Ukrainian specialists are trained to work with these anti-aircraft missile systems.

Director General of the agency, Rafael Grossi, says that the first rotation of representatives of the IAEA mission to the ZNPP took place. A new enhanced team of IAEA experts is expected to arrive at the station.

The start of the “customs visa-free regime” will improve trade between Ukraine, the European Union and its partners, while the system itself and the path to accession to the conventions passed by Kyiv will become a model for our European integration in other areas. Such conclusions were reached by the participants of the first Customs Platform: Ukraine-EU 2022, which took place on October 5 in Kyiv. On October 1, the provisions of the international Conventions on the procedure of joint transit and simplification of formalities in trade in goods came into force for Ukraine.  This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance. The first country from which the goods were sent for delivery to Ukraine under the procedure of joint transit, was Germany.
