Ukraine briefly

For 220 days, the Ukrainian people have resisted the russian military invasion.

Here is operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces as of 6 p.m.:

The enemy is attempting to fully occupy Donetsk oblast, hold captured territories and disrupt the active actions of the Defense Forces in certain areas. The enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line and conducting aerial reconnaissance. Attacks were made on civilian infrastructure and civilian housing which violates the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war.  Ukraine is exposed to the threat of enemy air and missile strikes.

The occupiers launched 3 missiles and 5 air strikes, fired out more than 16 rocket launchers. In addition, they used unmanned aerial vehicles to attack infrastructure facilities.

Over 11 settlements were affected by enemy fire.  Among them are Bakhmut, Trudove, Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka, Zaliznychne, Illinka, Nikopol, Blagodativka, Mykolaiv, Ochakiv and Odesa.

The situation has not changed significantly in Volyn and Polissia directions.

In other directions, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars and barrel artillery:

  • towards Siversk – in the area of the settlement of Fotovyzh, Sumy;
  • towards Sloboda – in the areas of settlements of Ohirtseve, Okhrimivka and Budarka of Kharkiv oblast;
  • towards Kramatorsk – in the areas of the settlements of Blakytni Ozera, Hryhorivka, Bilogorivka, Ivano-Daryivka, Zakitne, Rozdolivka, Vesele and Spirne;
  • towards Bakhmut – in the areas of Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Odradivka, Opytne, Zaytseve, Yakovlivka, Yuryivka, Mayorsk and New York;

Russian forces continue to suffer losses in manpower, weapons and military equipment. Only as a result of fire damage to an enemy facility in Zolote, Luhansk oblast, the enemy lost about sixty people killed and wounded, as well as four units of military equipment.

The russian military leadership tries to carefully hide the losses of personnel in this war. They are searching for ways to replenish manpower losses, notably by legally involving prisoners. According to available information, a draft law on changes in the russian criminal code, which provides for serving punishment in the area of hostilities, has been submitted to the russian state duma.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, the russian authorities severely violate the rules of warfare and human rights by intensifying forced mobilization of the male population of conscription age to replenish the losses of russian military units. In order to timely implement mobilization measures and suppress the resistance of the local population, additional units of the russian guard arrived in the cities of Berdiansk and Melitopol.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Kozacha Lopan, Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve and Pervomaiske settlements.

To support the actions of the ground groups, the air defense forces carried out 21 strikes.

According to the Presidential Decree No. 678/2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a decree cancelling the autumn draft in Ukraine and postponing the release of conscripts into the reserve. This decree excludes items 2-6 from the previous one, referring to the regular conscription of Ukrainian citizens for military service in October – December 2022. Release to the reserve of conscripts, which should have taken place in October-December 2022, from now on will take place “not prior to the announcement in the established order of demobilization”.
