It has been the eighty-nine day of heroic struggle of the Ukrainian people with the russian military invasion.

The eastern regions remain the most difficult, where the occupiers are advancing and destroying settlements. The invaders may prepare an offensive in the south to capture the now free part of Kherson oblast and move to Zaporizhia.

From time to time the enemy fires on the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, victoriously liberated by the Ukrainian army. Russia is gaining strength in the Belgorod region on its part of the border.  

The enemy continues to launch massive shelling from various types of weapons in the settlements of Luhansk oblast concentrating its forces on capturing Severodonetsk and the “road of life” from Lysychansk to Bakhmut.

Ukraine briefly:

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, here is a brief overview of the situation in the regions:

Zhytomyr oblast: three houses were damaged by wreckage of a downed rocket in Korosten at night. As a result of another missile, an industrial facility (railway infrastructure) was damaged. There are no victims at the moment.

In Sumy oblast at night the enemy fired from its territory on the outskirts of Bilopillya. Information on casualties, losses and destruction is currently being clarified.

Kharkiv: The night in the city passed with anxiety and isolated shelling. There are two wounded per day.

Tsyrkuny was shelled in the region. There are two wounded.

1 person was wounded as Pervomaiskyi was shelled, 1 injured in Balaklia.

At night, the occupiers came under fire from the Chuhuiv district, burning private houses, shops and cafes. No one was injured.

In Kharkiv, after russian shelling, half a thousand houses are not subject to restoration, in the area of ​​North Saltivka, local authorities are already planning to build new housing – but are waiting for permission from the military.

Luhansk oblast: russians tried to assault Severodonetsk again, but were unsuccessful and retreated.

A total of 19 settlements were shelled per day. In the region, 70 housing facilities were damaged or destroyed in Lysychansk, Novodruzhesk, Zoloty, Nyrkov, Mykolayivka, Katerynivka, Hirsky, as well as in Severodonetsk.

One person died, a girl from Privilege died of her injuries on May 7 in a hospital in Dnipro. There are two civilians wounded.

In Luhansk oblast, an evacuation bus came under fire from the occupiers. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Donetsk oblast: there was shelling along the entire front line.

There was significant damage due to shelling in Avdiivka: at least 20 houses and a school were damaged. The positions around the village of Vozdvyzhenka and the village of Myronivka (Svitlodarska Hromada) were constantly shelled. The bridge near the village of Luhanske was destroyed. Detailed information on consequences and victims is being verified.

Mykolayiv oblast: at night the enemy fired at Mykolayiv from the Tornado MLRS. Information on damaged objects and victims is being clarified.

Shyrokiv community also suffered from shelling. They hit outbuildings, destroyed one house. There are no victims.

Kherson oblast: The occupiers continue to fire on the occupied settlements and destroy social facilities and houses of civilians.

The situation is really acute in the villages of Oleksandrivka and Osokorivka. Almost every private house is damaged. There are dead and injured.

In Bilozerka, 10 houses were partially destroyed by cluster shelling, 3 people died. The number of injured is unknown.

The situation is difficult in the villages of Beryslav and Kakhovka districts.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast: there was a continuous air raid alarm at night. The occupiers shelled the Apostolic Community with hurricanes twice. The area between settlements was hit. People were not affected. The information on shelling consequences is being clarified.

The night was relatively calm in other regions of Ukraine.

Additional temporary restrictions have been imposed in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Rivne oblasts bordering Belarus, which will run from May 23 until the end of martial law.

Currently, the situation in the Slobozhansky direction is tense as russian troops have been regrouping their forces and resources for almost two weeks. The offensive on Slovyansk, Donetsk oblast, resumed.

The Admiral Makarov frigate left Sevastopol towards southern Ukraine. It increases the risk of missile strikes on Ukraine, the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova said. According to her, the ship joined the Black Sea in a group of 7 large landing craft and two missile ships. The activity of military aircraft has increased in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, mostly in Yevpatoria. Simferopol airport is closed to civilian aviation and is likely to be used for military purposes.

After an airstrike on the village of Desna in the Chernihiv oblast, inflicted by the russian army on May 17, the bodies of 87 people were found under the rubble, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the World Economic Forum.

Information on the number and personal data of Ukrainian servicemen withdrawn from Azovstal, which the International Committee of the Red Cross has or will have at its disposal, will remain confidential and will not be made public.

. May 23 the trial of the russian military man, 21-year-old Vadim Shishimarin, accused of killing an unarmed civilian Ukrainian, has ended in the Solomyansky court of Kyiv. The russian was sentenced to life imprisonment.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged the world to resist russia now, rather than waiting for it to use chemical, biological or nuclear weapons in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on international donors to join Ukraine’s support in the framework of the United 24 Foundation and expressed his belief that in the future this fund should become a global structure for providing emergency services to countries in need.

In Mariupol region, mobile patrols from the kadyrovites detain and check people moving on the roads to Berdyansk and Zaporizhzhia. The facts of physical violence against civilians were recorded.

The aggressor damaged the main gas pipeline when trying to cut off Luhansk oblast from the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway.

During the day, SES pyrotechnic units were involved 19 times, 318 explosive devices were found, seized and defused, and an area of ​​67.62 hectares was inspected. Pyrotechnics worked in the Kharkiv oblast 4 thousand 316 times, Kyiv oblast – 2 thousand 276, Mykolayiv oblast – 1 thousand 319, Chernihiv oblast – 1 thousand 174, Cherkasy oblast – 757, Sumy oblast – 524.

In Austria, due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, 254 mln Euros of assets of russian oligarchs have been frozen.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law #7194 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine to Increase Effectiveness of Sanctions Related to Some Individuals’ Assets”. According to Zelenskyy, identifying and confiscating the assets of sanctioned persons who in some way support the aggression of the occupiers against Ukraine “will allow to replenish the Ukrainian budget quickly and effectively at the expense of the enemies.”

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded 202 servicemen with state awards, 64 of them posthumously.

In textbooks for children from the occupied territories of Ukraine and russians, the aggressor country decided to change the name of Kiev Rus to Rus. This will deprive children of access to objective historical facts and will lead to loss of heritage, national identity and idiosyncrasy of young Ukrainians,” Human Rights Council Commissioner Lyudmila Denisova said.

During the war, the number of marriages in Ukraine increased. From February 24 to May 1, 39 484 new families were registered. If in the middle of 2021 more than 86K families were registered, in two months of the war 40K new families have already been created. Under wartime law, military commanders and leaders registered 235 marriages.

Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

Fighting continues in Kharkiv oblast. Over the past day, the enemy shelled the positions of our military and prepared new attempts to launch the offensive. In Kharkiv direction, the invaders focused on defense. In the area of Izyum, the enemy tried to conduct combat reconnaissance, but suffered losses and retreated.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian invaders supported by artillery unsuccessfully assaulted Ternova in Kharkiv oblast, in Izyum direction they shelled Husarivka, Chepil, as well as Studenok, where multiple launch rocket systems and heavy flamethrower systems were used.

Settlements are being shelled. There were 2 wounded people as Tsyrkuny was shelled. There was one more casualty in Pervomaisk. One civilian was injured in Balakliia. At night, Chuhuiv district was shelled by the occupiers. As a result, private houses, a shop and a café caught fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.

During the day, 4 wounded civilians were hospitalized from the settlements of the Kharkiv oblast. One person was injured by an explosive wave. As a result of shelling of Pavlove Pole district in Kharkiv on the morning of May 23, a man was hospitalized, as reported by the Center for Emergency Medical Care. There are damaged cars and kiosks. The shell fell near a public transport stop.

In Kharkiv, they plan to build new housing for residents of the destroyed houses of North Saltivka. The site, where construction can be started, has been selected and documentation is being developed. But in order to start building, military permission is required.

Over 300 servings of hot food were delivered by the police and volunteers to residents of the most affected area of Kharkiv. Hot lunches, drinking water, more than 300 kilograms of vegetables, canned food, sausages, bread were distributed among locals at several locations. Also, the police and volunteers distributed 150 packages with necessary products among residents of Chuhuiv district. 

The advocacy advisory group reported that photojournalist Ihor Hudenko died in Kharkiv. On February 24, in the first hours of the war, Ihor went to film the war and the crimes of the russian invaders in North Saltivka. The connection with him was lost on February 25. He was reported missing for three months and only now they found out that he died on February 26. Ihor Hudenko is the author of the video of protesters being shot at Instytutska Street in 2014.

Mobile branches of Ukrposhta begin working on de-occupied parts of Kharkiv oblast. Pensions and humanitarian aid can be received there, according to Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko. Specifically, in the de-occupied villages of Mala Rohan and Vilkhivka, for the first time in a few months, local residents began to receive pensions.

Transport will resume functioning in Kharkiv. In the first days starting from May 24, the underground trains will run at intervals of half an hour, with an increase in the number of passengers, the interval will decrease. During the first week you do not need to pay for travel, according to Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov.  From May 24, trains on the Saltivka underground line will temporarily run to the Akademik Barabashov station, and it will be possible to enter the Derzhprom station only through the station “University.”

Donetsk oblast

In Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out an air strike at the settlement of Bohorodychne and shelled the settlements of Husarivka, Chepil, Dolyna and Sviatohirsk with artillery. Multiple launch rocket and heavy flamethrower systems were applied in the village of Studenok.

In Donetsk direction, enemy units did not abandon attempts to break through the defense of our troops to encircle them and reach the administrative borders of Luhansk oblast. The main efforts are focused on Bakhmut direction.

In Lyman direction, active hostilities were not conducted. The enemy carried out artillery shelling of the Defense Forces units and civilian facilities in Lyman.

The front line is Vuhledar. The city is on the verge of life and death. A humanitarian convoy was able to break into the city despite round-the-clock shelling. For locas, this is the only way to get food and drinking water to survive. Police officers, military administration and volunteers helped feed more than 200 people. The invaders hit civilians with missiles, bombs, and Grad multi launch missile systems. There are whole families being killed. Next to the shelter, where more than 150 people are hiding, russian shells stick out of the ground. There are destroyed houses, black, burned high-rise buildings, in which people still live. Since there is neither gas or electricity, they cook outside – on homemade stoves built of bricks. Among these residents is an 80-year-old pensioner. Under fire, he goes on runs to get technical water, which he lifts to his 7th floor.  Although it is difficult for him, he refuses to leave the city, because all he cares about remains here.

On May 23, russians killed three civilians in Donetsk oblast: in Zorya, Soledar and Adamivka. 6 people were injured.

According to Petro Andriushchenko, only yesterday, from Mariupol to the filtration camp in Bezymiane 313 people, including 55 children, were deported. In addition, 70 people, including 12 children, were deported from the filtration point in the village of Nikolske.

Avdiivka was under enemy fire all night long. At least 20 houses and a kindergarten were damaged, and at least 3 civilians were injured. “In the morning, russian aircraft carried out an airstrike on the old part of the city. We are clarifying the consequences of the strike,” the head of Donetsk oblast said.

Law enforcement officers detained a collaborator, a resident of Bakhmut, who revealed  positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to russians. 

According to the mayor’s adviser Petro Andriushchenko, kadyrovites began to patrol Mariupol. Roads leading towards Berdiansk and Zaporizhzhia are under enhanced control.

In Donetsk oblast, due to shelling, the largest salt production enterprise in Europe halted its operations, the State Enterprise “Artemsil” reported. The stock of finished products was taken away in April. In Ukraine, a shortage of salt is expected.

 Luhansk oblast

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said that russian troops were advancing towards Severodonetsk. Active fighting is ongoing.

He also said that Ukrainian defenders repelled the russian attack in the village of Metiolkine. Having suffered losses, the invaders retreated. “At night, the russian forces began assaulting Toshkivka. The battle continues,” the head of the oblast writes. 

Censor.NET reports soldiers of the 57th brigade are eliminating kadyrovites and russian mercenaries in Luhansk oblast. In the defense area, there are 3 enemy’s motorized rifle brigades, 7 separate motorized rifle brigades reinforced by a tank company. However, they remain in positions. According to our soldiers, Kadyrovites and mercenaries from the private military campaign launch some offensive actions. . 

In addition, the russians ceaselessly shell Severodonetsk. Today, police found an injured 58-year-old woman in the old city district. According to the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhiy Haidai, she was provided with pre-medical care and doctors were called. On the way to the hospital, the car came under fire. Fortunately, no one was injured. 

Today, 43 people were evacuated from Lysychansk, Hirske, and Severodonetsk. All civilians who are now outside Luhansk oblast, saved themselves, their relatives and children (five of them have left today). The information was reported by the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhii Haidai.

British intelligence reports that russia’s only Operational company BMP-T Terminator was probably deployed on the Severodonetsk axis of the offensive in Donbas. Their presence indicates that the Central Grouping of Forces, which is the only formation that uses this machine, is involved in this attack. Earlier, they suffered heavy losses, failing to break through to eastern Kyiv in the first stage of the invasion.

Severodonetsk region remains one of russia’s immediate tactical priorities. However, with a maximum of ten Terminators, they are unlikely to have a significant impact on the campaign.

 

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

In the north of Kyiv oblast, additional restrictions will be introduced. Any movement of civilians closer than a kilometer to the state border, except for the territories of settlements, is prohibited. The restrictions will be in effect from 23 May until the end of the military situation.

Almost every day in Kyiv oblast, employees of special services or farmers are blown up on mines and lose equipment. Key paths are demined and examined by specialists. But thousands of square kilometers are actually dangerous. There are many unexploded shells and mines on the territory and fields remain mined. It was reported by Andrii Nebitov, the Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv oblast.

The Chornobyl zone demining is one of the priorities. According to Ihor Klymenko, due to the danger of raising radioactive dust during explosion, all dangerous finds are carefully removed and blown up at special landfills.

When examining the liberated territory of the Chernobyl zone, explosive technicians of the National Police came across a cache of demining charges. Over 30 charges have replenished our arsenal and will now work for the victory of Ukraine.

On May 20, police stations in the Nemishaev, Bilohorod and Borshchahivska communities were reopened. From now on, community officers who received training certificates, pump-action shotguns and keys to service cars will start rendering services here. 

Within the framework of the “Community Police Officer” project, the police office will ensure law and order on its territory 24/7.

As of today, G12 streetcar route to Pushcha-Vodytsya in Kyiv, damaged due to fighting with the occupiers, has been restored.

Press Freedom Centre has been opened in Kyiv. At the Centre, journalists can receive protective equipment, such as bulletproof vests and helmets, attend security training (including digital security) and receive psychological support.

The ceremony of stamp redemption “Russian warship… It is over!”  was expected to start in Kyiv at about 2 p.m. However, people have lined up to purchase the stamp near the central office on Independence Square since morning.

Zhytomyr oblast 

On the night of May 22-23, 3 houses were damaged by wreckage of a downed rocket in Korosten. As a result of another missile, an industrial facility was damaged. Detailed information is being clarified.

“At 4 am the railway infrastructure was hit. At 2 am the air defense responded and wreckage fell on one of the residential areas with no significant damage. Most importantly is that no one was injured in the night shelling,” said Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.

As a result of the missile strike on Malyn on May 22, the infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia was damaged, about 150 residential buildings one of them is an apartment building, a number of shops and cafes, some industrial enterprises. An employee of Ukrzaliznytsia died. There are four wounded, three employees of Ukrzaliznytsia and one resident of Malyn. Mayor Alexander Sitailo announced the consequences.

The Zhytomyr Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal proceedings over the deaths of civilians, destruction of houses and civilian objects in Malyn and Korosten.

Zhytomyr Border Detachment informs about additional temporary restrictions in the controlled border areas. These restrictions were imposed due to the russian aggression, as well as to ensure measures on strengthening national security and defense of Ukraine. They will remain in force until the end of martial law.

According to Vitaliy Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, said. Despite fuel shortages, limited equipment and mined fields, sowing is being completed in Zhytomyr Oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during today’s speech in Davos, advised that 87 people died under the rubble on May 17 following the enemy missile strike on the village of Desna.  

During field work near the village of Kiinka, a tractor ran into an explosive device, killing the driver. Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service together with explosives technicians of the National Police examined the surrounding area for other explosive devices and found 1 more anti-tank mine TM-62M.

Chernihiv oblast received 100 bicycles as part of the #BikesforUkraine campaign. The bicycles will be handed over to critical infrastructure workers, social workers and bicycle volunteers who deliver humanitarian aid to low-mobility groups.

Sumy oblast

All night the enemy shelled the peaceful city of Bilopillia and the surrounding area. From their territory, russians fired missiles, used the ACS and carried out an airstrike at around 1 am. As a result, private houses were damaged, at least 11 houses were badly damaged. There were no casualties.

At night, the enemy conducted mortar fire from its territory on the northern part of Shostka district.

The occupiers fired mortars and artillery at the village of Mezenivka and its environs (Krasnopil community). As a result, a fire broke out on an old farm. Fences and windows are broken in residential buildings. The Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi reports that there are no casualties.

Rescuers are eliminating the effects of enemy strikes on the housing sector of civilians, carrying out emergency recovery work in damaged homes and private sector buildings.

Today they work in Bilopillia, suffering as a result of enemy strikes. Together with representatives of other services, SES officers are dismantling partially destroyed residential buildings and outbuildings. Currently, the access to the homes of citizens whose entrance was blocked by rubble has been restored.

Russian soldier Shishimarin was found guilty of killing a man in the Sumy oblast. He was sentenced to life imprisonment under the article “violation of the laws and customs of war.” This is the first russian soldier to be convicted of a crime against a civilian.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

During the night, the occupiers bombarded Apostolove hromada with Uragan multi launch rocket system. No casualties were reported.

During the day, enemy troops shelled the Kryvyi Rih district, villages of Hannivka and Mala Kostromka with prohibited cluster munitions. The shelling damaged a house, power lines and gas supply. No casualties were reported.

In the evening, the enemy launched one missile at the railway infrastructure in Pavlohrad district and three more in Synelnykiv district. It resulted in serious damages to the railway track and catenary. Roofs and windows were damaged in 12 houses nearby. Data on the victims is being clarified.

Law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings regarding the shelling by russian troops of the town of Zelenodolsk, shelled on May 22, and the village of Mala Kostromka, Kryvyi Rih district.

According to Mykola Lukashuk, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Apostolivska, Shyrokivska and Zelenodolska communities of Kryvyi Rih district often come under fire due to their proximity to Kherson oblast. These enemy actions are aimed at preventing transfer of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to other areas and hindering their movements.

In all other communities and districts, the situation is calm and controlled. There are no occupying forces in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

In other regions in Central Ukraine, the situation has not changed.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

It is impossible to leave the occupied cities of Melitopol and Energodar towards Zaporizhzhia. At the checkpoint in Vasylivka, the occupiers do not let anyone in for unknown reasons. Over 400 cars have lined up there. 

The invaders were ordered to shoot from armored heavy military equipment, tanks and armored personnel carriers, to forcefully seize facilities of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and Energodar. As a result of criminal actions, people were killed, buildings of the training center, transitional overpasses to the reactor departments of power units and other technologically important networks and communications were destroyed.

On May 23, Energoatom reported that the invaders broke into the apartment of an employee of the energy repair unit of Zaporizhzhia NPP Serhii Shvets and shot him with automatic weapons. The man was hospitalized in the city hospital with numerous bullet wounds. Doctors are trying to rescue his life. 

The State Security Service reported suspicion to four russian occupiers who, by order of General Dombrovsky, participated in the seizure of Zaporizhzhia NPP.

As a result of shelling in the cities of Polohy and Vasylivka, low-pressure distribution gas pipelines were damaged. 479 consumers were left without gas supply. At the same time, gas supply to 526 consumers was restored yesterday.

The invaders shelled the village of Novoiakovlivka. As a result, dozens of private houses of local residents and the preschool educational institution “Kalinka” were damaged.

Kherson Oblast

The so-called head of the Kherson Regional Administration, the enemy’s collaborator Volodymyr Saldo issued a decree on May 23 on bi-currency zone in the region. The russian ruble will circulate at the same time as the hryvnia at the rate of 1 to 2.

The regional prosecutor’s office has launched criminal proceedings for violating the laws and customs of war by shelling Bilozerka with cluster shells. As a result of the attack 2 people were killed, 5 wounded.

Active hostilities are taking place in the area of ​​Stanislavska, Borozenska, Vysokopilska and Novovorontsovska settlements.

Yesterday, as a result of shelling of Stanislavska community, the roof over the farm cowshed burned down, and some houses were destroyed.

In the village of Oleksandrivka 300 houses were partially destroyed.

In Borozenska village community, after shelling, the first-aid station, private houses (broken windows, doors) were partially destroyed and  private vehicles were damaged.

2450 civilians from Vysokopillia, Arkhangelske, Kniazivka escaped to Dnipropetrovsk oblast. All administrative buildings in the area were destroyed.

Unfortunately, a resident of Potemkin village died as a result of a mine hitting the house.

The situation with medicinesб fuel and lubricants is critical in Skadovsk district. In the Kakhovka district, the occupiers increasingly began to visit the settlements to check documents.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Last weekend, кussian troops continued to systematically strike the obalst center and settlements. As a result of enemy attacks, some residents were injured. Houses, automobiles and other property of civilians were damaged.

On the evening of May 22, a private residential sector in one of the districts of Mykolaiv came under fire with cluster munitions of Smerch MLRS. The courtyards and houses of civilians were damaged. Domestic animals were injured and killed.

The Tavi DraUgi company has sent humanitarian aid such as food, household chemicals and hygiene. Humanitarian cargo has already arrived in Mykolaiv oblast.

Odesa Oblast

The Admiral Makarov frigate advanced from the Sevastopol Bay in support of the russian naval group in the Black Sea. Admiral Makarov is one of the newest ships of the russian fleet produced in 2017. The ship is equipped with missile systems to launch Kaliber cruise missiles. 

In addition to Admiral Makarov, there are currently seven large landing ships and two launch vehicles at sea.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the real author of the phrase about the russian ship was taken prisoner. The Head of the Snake Island border post, Bohdan Hotsky, said that his subordinate had been in captivity for a month and a half. The name of the hero is still kept secret.

Western regions

Volyn oblast
In Volyn, the next stage of the removal of books by russian-speaking authors from the funds of libraries began.

Olena Pchilka Regional Scientific Library seizes books that promote war, violence of national and religious hatred, as well as books by authors who publicly supported aggression against Ukraine. Previously, 60% of the library fund consisted of russian books.

A charity volleyball tournament was held in Volyn oblast. According to the results of two days of a charity volleyball tournament for the needs of children affected by the war, almost UAH 35,000 was collected.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Almost 50 enterprises moved to Prykarpattia due to hostilities in their places of business. 25 of them have already reopened and launched their operations.

Over 1️50 business entities consider moving to Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

In Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, about 1,900 IDPs applied to employment service. 315 people have already been employed

Lviv oblast

During the previous day, the Lviv oblast twice heard an air raid alert. There were threats of missile strikes from the Black Sea and the territory of Belarus.

Lviv police reported the arrest of men suspected of stealing more than a hundred bulletproof vests and armored plates worth about half a million hryvnias. The equipment was to be sent to the Ukrainian soldiers on the front line.

In the museum “Drohobych” in Lviv oblast, organized an exhibition-auction “Art of the Invictus”. The Event united Ukrainian artists of different genres to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The artistic action was attended by locals, local artists, and people were forced to leave their homes as a result of hostilities. In general, the first UAH 70,000 was raised for the purchase of an ambulance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one day at the charity exhibition. Everyone can support the Ukrainian army by purchasing a picture at the exhibition.

Rivne oblast

Due to the russian military aggression in Rivne oblast, restrictions are imposed in the border areas. Specifically, any movement of civilians in the territory located 1 km from the border is prohibited.

Since the full-scale war began, more than 850 calls have been received to the psychological support hotline in Rivne oblast. Almost every day the service receives calls from immigrants. Women waiting for calls from their husbands serving in the military also seek psychological aid. 

Ternopil oblast

900 sets of uniforms were handed over to the servicemen of Ternopil oblast. This is the second batch of clothing for the military. In total, it was planned to make 1200 sets worth UAH 1.8 million.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi authorities reported on the full implementation of the sowing campaign.

As of May 23, 2022, sowing of spring was carried out on an area of more than 880 thousand hectares or 99.5% of the planned. The seeding of sunflower, soybeans, corn, potatoes and vegetables has been completed.

Khmelnytskyi oblast continues to accept internally displaced persons. In total, more than 342,000 people passed through the region in transit.

A  public hairdresser was opened in Kamianets-Podilskyi. This is a social project which involves only internally displaced persons. It renders services to immigrants and locals.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The IT-cluster was officially launched in Transcarpathia. According to local authorities, about 30,000 IT specialists were evacuated to the region. The Board of the Transcarpathian IT Cluster includes 11 companies: Astound Commerce, SoftServe, Sigma Software, Genesis, 4TEAM, Telesens, EPAM, Intellias, SQUAD, CANFLY and PettersonApps.

The regional military administration supports community members in interaction with central authorities, employee reservation, logistics, search for premises for work, etc.

Applications for admission to the cluster are currently being accepted.

The State Bureau of Investigation has identified another channel for the illegal transportation of men of conscript age across the state border of Ukraine. Employees of the Territorial Department of the SBI Khmelnitsky reported suspicion to the forest master of “Chernivtsi forestry” and two of his accomplices for organizing an illegal scheme for transfer of Ukrainians to Romania.

Chernivtsi Oblast

State Bureau of Investigation of the next channel of illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border of Ukraine. Employees of the Territorial Department of the Khmelnytsky DBR reported that a forester from the Chernivtsi Forestry and two of his accomplices had been identified for organizing illegal schemes to transport Ukrainians to Romania.

For April, the state will pay homeowners 3.2 million UAH for accommodation of 10,809 internally displaced persons.

In March, 240 Bukovinian households have already received compensation for sheltering 774 internally displaced persons.
