Operational information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6pm

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, units of the Armed Forces of the republic of belarus are tasked to defend the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Engineering equipment of positions in the borderline areas of Brest oblast continues. 

Towards Siversk, the enemy fired artillery at the areas of Leonivka, Chernihiv oblast and Baranivka, Sopych, Ulanove Sumy oblast, and also carried out an airstrike with Ka-52 helicopters near Hlukhiv.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy is fighting and restraining the advance of Ukrainian units towards the state border.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy used barrel artillery and MLRS in the areas of of Bairak, Lebiazhe, Pechenihy, Peremoha, Rubizhne, Udy, Verkhniy Saltiv, Zolochiv.

Towards Sloviansk, there was artillery shelling near Mazanivka, Krasnopillia and Dibrovne. Ukrainian soldiers repelled an enemy assault near Dolyna and forced russians to withdraw.

Towards Lyman, active offensive actions are not observed. However, the invaders fired barrel artillery at Starodubivka.

In Donetsk oblast, the enemy does not cease firing on the positions of our troops along the contact line.

Towards Severodonetsk, the enemy used artillery and MLRS in the areas of Borivske, Loskutivka, Lysychansk, Metiolkine, Severodonetsk, Ustynivka. There was also an airstrike on Loskutivka.

Towards Bakhmut, russian invaders fired artillery at Berestove, Mykolaivka, New York, Nova Kamianka, Novoivanivka, Pokrovske, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka. There was an airstrike with Ka-52 helicopters on the peaceful settlement of Yakovlivka. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled the enemy’s assault in the proximity of Berestove.

In Avidiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavlovske and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy tried to conduct assault actions, trying to prevent the transfer of our troops to other directions. He carried out shelling from mortars, barrel artillery and MLRS in the areas of Huliaipole and Charivne, Huliaipole, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Zaliznychne.

In the South Buh direction, the situation has not significantly changed. In the areas of Chervona Dolyna, Dobrianka, Kniazivka, Kotliareve, Lymany, Murakivka, Novomykolaivka, Oleksandrivka, Osokorivka, Stepova Dolyna, Tavriia, Topolyne, Zoria, the enemy used barrel and reactive artillery.

Three russian carriers of high-precision weapons with 20 Kalibr-class cruise missiles are kept ready to be applied. 

Significant losses of the occupation troops thwart russian military leaders’ plans to quickly penetrate deeper into the territory of Ukraine. 

Cases of refusal to participate in hostilities have increased among the russian military. This does not allow strengthening and replacing russian units that have lost their combat potential in a short run

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Kyiv today. Key negotiation topics are Ukraine’s course in the EU, grain blockade, strengthening Ukraine’s defense, further sanction pressure on the russian federation. Before the official meeting, the leaders of Germany, France and Italy visited the russian-destroyed Irpin.

French President Emmanuel Macron states that EU leaders – Germany, France, Italy and Romania – support granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. Heads of State and Government of the EU countries will be discussing Ukraine’s application to join the European Union at the summit on June 23-24, 2022. 

About 330K russian servicemen are involved in large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

The Ukrainian Film Academy called on the world community to boycott russian films and the film industry.

Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

During the night, the enemy launched an MLRs attack on the infrastructure of Industrialny district, Kharkiv. There were no injuries or casualties.

Fighting continues on the contact line. Toward Kharkiv, the enemy is concentrating on defending the lines. Toward Izium, russian invaers continue to attempt an offensive towards Sloviansk. Our defenders hold their positions and cause significant losses in manpower and equipment to the enemy.

In the region, the invaders shelled settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Izium, Kharkiv and Lozova region. In Lebiazhe village, Chuhuiv region, houses and outbuildings were damaged by the shelling. Fire broke out in Zolochiv as a result of russian ammunition strikes. Outbuildings and cars were also damaged.

During the day, 1 person in Lozova region and 5 civilians in Izium region were injured as a result of russian shelling in Kharkiv oblast.

Donetsk oblast

On May 16, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy assault toward Dolyna settlement. Artillery shelling was reported near Dibrovne, Krasnopillia and Mazanivka.

According to the Mariupol mayor’s councillor Petro Andriushchenko, school authorities prohibited students from communicating in Ukrainian even during breaks in occupied Mariupol. “School authorities” threaten parents and children with “consequences”. Also, a new wave of looting started in the city. Russian invaders are making apartment rounds before demolition. They will break into closed flats in partially surviving houses for “inspection”.

According to an Institute for the Study of War (ISW) report, the russian troops may stage false-flag attacks around Donetsk to hold back pro-Ukrainian spirits.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff, russian troops don’t give up their attempts to gain full control over Severodonetsk and are storming the city. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is aware of the russian invaders’ intentions toward Severodonetsk and has taken measures to secure the Ukrainian troops in the city after destroying all bridges.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine, Zaluzhnyy, russian troops in Luhansk oblast are trying to conduct an offensive against Ukrainian positions in 9 directions at once and described Severodonetsk as a key point in the region’s defence system.

According to the head of the Luhansk Regional Civil-Military Administration, Hayday, 4 people were killed in two airstrikes on Lysychansk. According to preliminary information, 7 were injured. There may still be people under the rubble, a search operation is underway.

In the temporarily occupied Khrustalne city (Krasnyy Luch), Luhansk oblast, explosions are intense. Residents write that the Standart plant, where the rashist ammunition depot was located, is on fire. The information needs to be verified.

Northern regions

Zhytomyr oblast

More than 15 tons of sweets will soon be delivered to large families, family-type orphanages, and other children in Zhytomyr. This aid was provided by the American confectionery giant Mondelez International. The Zhytomyr regional administration says that thanks to close cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations, it is now possible to provide everything essential to people in need.

Kyiv oblast

The President of France Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, and the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis travelled to the ruined town of Irpin as part of their visit to Ukraine.

Today Kyiv and its residents paid their last respects to Roman Ratushnyi who was killed on June 9 fighting with russian occupants in Kharkiv oblast. Roman was a well-known activist in the capital, head of the public organization “Save Protasiv Yar” and a reconnaissance officer of the 93rd Independent Kholodnyi Yar Mechanized Brigade.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration gave an update on inspection and clearance of explosive ordnance in populated areas as of June 15. Demining in Kyiv oblast continues.

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv oblast reports that rescuers inspect the areas near water bodies of the region on a daily basis to prevent  water-related fatalities. During these inspections, they inform people about safety rules at water sites. Citizens are advised to follow safety measures and not to leave children unattended near water bodies.

Two medical facilities in Kyiv oblast are completely destroyed – Makariv Center for Primary Healthcare and Hurivshchyna Medical Ambulatory.

Oleksiy Kuleba, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced construction of a new ambulatory in the village of Hurivshchyna. The ambulatory will be rebuilt under international standards and provided with modern equipment. Tentatively, the medical facility will start working in November this year. It will be able to provide services to more than 5K patients from the surrounding communities.

Restoration of 11 residential buildings that suffered the most damage as a result of shelling by russian barbarians has begun in Kyiv. Some houses in Svyatoshyn, Obolon, and Shevchenko districts were damaged the most.

A total of 636 infrastructure facilities and residential buildings were damaged in the capital as a result of missile strikes. The capital has allocated about 600 million hryvnias from the reserve fund of the city budget for reconstruction works. 200 million must be provided by the government,” said Mayor Vitaliy Klytschko.

The first 17 residents who lost their homes due to russian aggression moved into the “Iron Town” in Irpin. This project was implemented by Ukrzaliznytsia under the initiative and support of Irpin City Council in partnership with World Central Kitchen. The new complex of 5 compartment cars with all conveniences, free meals, and well-equipped territory will be able to accommodate 25 families.

On June 19, the Kyiv Racetrack will start horse races again. There are 300 horses of riding and trotting breeds kept and trained on the territory. From the first days of the war, the employees of the facility stayed close to their mounts and provided necessary assistance to the animals. To be on the safe side, visitors must immediately leave the grounds and head for the nearest shelter in case of an air-raid alarm.

Sumy oblast

As a result of shelling in Sumy oblast yesterday, on June 15, after 8 pm, one person was killed, and six wounded. Missiles fired from two enemy helicopters on the outskirts of Hlukhiv hit a residential building and damaged the infrastructure.

Russian aviation has shelled Sumy border region twice. According to the Ukrainian State Border Service, first, the rashists conducted air strikes in Sumy oblast, and the second time they targeted the Shostka region.

The representative of the Regional Military Administration said that our people were killed and at least six wounded due to the night-time missile airstrike in Sumy oblast.

At around 5 am, the russians launched a missile strike on Krasnopillya community followed by mortar fire from their territory. As a result of shelling, a farm building and a vehicle caught fire. Information on casualties and damage to infrastructure is being clarified.

At about 1pm, the enemy opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems from the russian territory. An agricultural enterprise was damaged as a result of shelling. The information on casualties and damage sustained is being clarified by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, posted video footage on his telegram channel showing the aftermath of the russian shelling of Ukrainian school.

A vehicle was blown up on a russian mine on one of the dirt roads. Three people died on the spot, one was injured and is currently in the hospital.

Volunteer battalions of Sumy oblast received supplies from the Regional Military Administration: Ford Ranger 4WD pick-up truck, necessary equipment (body armor, tactical belts, webbing, magazine pouches, grenades, etc.), and medications.

Chernihiv oblast

Demining of Chernihiv oblast continues, and high-priority work is underway to restore the damaged infrastructure.

The government has allocated 250 million hryvnias for urgent restoration of critical infrastructure and priority non-capital repairs in Chernihiv oblast.

Active repair works are being conducted at the regional children’s hospital, the regional blood center, and the emergency medical care facility. One of the reconstruction projects is the Chernihiv regional hospital, which suffered severe damage during hostilities. 

223 generators were provided to Chernihiv oblast by the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK. More than a hundred generators have already been delivered and are being distributed to communities in the oblast. “This support is vital to us,” said Viacheslav Chaus, the Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.

Central regions

Vinnytsia oblast

140 artists from Ukraine and around the world came together to embroider two post-war maps of Ukraine: one for exhibition, and the other one to be sold for charity. The initiator of the project “Art Map Ukraine 2.0” is Olga Petliuk from Vinnytsia. Both maps will be blue and yellow on a red and black background.

More than 200,000 hryvnias for the Armed Forces were raised at a charity online lottery concert in Vinnytsia. The money will be spent on buying cars for the defenders of Ukraine.

Vinnytsia rescuers received combat clothing, shoes, fire helmets and fire belts worth almost one million hryvnias from Luxembourg.

43 TDP mainly from Donetsk, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv oblasts and Zaporizhia live in the dormitory of Nemyrivskyi professional lyceum.

Mariana Shevchuk, a world powerlifting champion from Vinnytsia, has been awarded a scholarship by the President of Ukraine.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In general, the night in Dnipropetrovsk oblast was quiet. Neither enemy shelling nor russian occupation forces have been recorded.

Previously, the occupiers struck Novomoskovsk district with two missiles, one hit an infrastructure facility, the other – a country cooperative. As a result, four houses, five garages and one outbuilding were destroyed. Noone was injured. The occupiers also fired from a rocket-propelled grenade launcher into the town of Apostolovo. As a result of the shelling, four people were killed and one was injured.

22 streets in Dnipro will be renamed. There will be Azovstal, Marine and Volnovakha streets, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. There are 430 toponyms related to russia in Kryvyi Rih. They will be renamed by the end of summer.

There are no significant changes in Kirovohrad oblast. 

Poltava oblast

On June 16, training shootings took place in the Myrhorod community. They had been previously announced by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin in his Telegram-channel.

In Poltava region, Territorial Defence fighters are getting uniform. 1 120 sets of military uniforms were handed over to 17 communities of the region. Money for their purchase (3 million 300 thousand UAH) was allocated from the regional budget.

Internally displaced people have submitted about 10K applications for food kits to the Helpgroup, almost half of them have already received the kits. Demand for kits is increasing.

Poltava photographer Oksana Mala launched a charity photo project for pregnant internally displaced women.

Cherkasy oblast

Veteran of the Azov Regiment Artur Pohoriliy walked 83 kilometers in ammunition in eighteen hours. He did not eat anything and carried 15 kilograms of weight. His goal is to draw attention to Azovstal prisoners.

In Cherkasy region, the Zhytomyr Humanitarian Hub and COR-Medical shipped ventilators, patient monitors, and a blood autotransfusion device to the regional hospital and the hospital for war veterans. The workload on medical facilities increased 3-4 times during the war, so any help from philanthropists and partners is crucial.

Nursery groups for children under three years have resumed work in eight institutions in Cherkasy. 

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

There were no significant changes in the operational situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The main efforts of the russian army were focused on regrouping their own forces and means, holding previously occupied territories, firing at our troops, and dispersal of their forces in order to avoid our backfire.

The invaders continue to buildup the main forces and means in the settlements of Vasylivka and the Vasylivka district, as well as in the Polohy and Berdiansk districts.

There is no data indicating preparations for probable offensive actions towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv in the near future. Deterrent actions are being carried out at all borders along the confrontation line.

Over the past day, the number of fire strikes has increased significantly. The city of Huliaipole, as well as the city of Orikhiv in Polohy district, the village of Lukianivske in the Vasylivka district were hit. 

Yesterday police received 10 reports from Orikhivka citizens about damage caused by fire attacks.

Residents of Huliaipole reported the destruction of two local kindergartens. Houses and yard areas were also destroyed.

During the past day, there were 26 shelling of the positions of our troops along the confrontation line from the entire spectrum of weapons in the area of  the settlements: Charivne, Chervone, Huliaipole, Kamianske, Malynivka, Novosilka, Olhivske, Orikhiv, Poltavka, Vremivka, Zalizhnychne.

In particular, the settlements of Huliaipole, Huliaipilske and Charivne were fired upon by the enemy from the BM-21 Grad MLRS. The settlements of Charivne, Novosilka, Olhіvske came under tank fire.

The servicemen of the Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction over the past day eliminated 8 soldiers, injured 14. A self-propelled artillery (SAU) 2s3 “Akatsiya” – 7 units were destroyed. In addition, 2 enemy ammunition trains, one enemy position and one enemy observation post were destroyed.

Today, due to damage to power supply lines, more than 21 thousand consumers in 77 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast do not have power supply.

Yesterday, the energy workers restored the energy supply to 8,500 households in the Orikhiv district.

Mykolaiv oblast

The infrastructure was damaged as a result of enemy attacks at night on the outskirts of Mykolaiv. A field of wheat burned in the village Lymany, and several houses in the Pervomaisk community burned down. There are no victims.

Yesterday there were 6 fires caused by enemy attacks in Mykolaiv oblast.

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported one of the brigades defending the borders of Mykolaiv oblast have received a mobile hospital thanks to volunteers.

In Mykolayiv, a shelter will be set up for people who lost their homes due to the war. There will be 10 living rooms and necessary common areas (kitchen, toilet, shower). The shelter is currently undergoing renovations.

On Monday, June 13, the meeting of the leadership of Mykolaiv oblast and representatives of the UN took place. During the meeting, they discussed restoration of water supply, humanitarian needs of the region and restoration of damaged infrastructure. Currently, the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration is preparing proposals where UN assistance can be directed.

Odesa oblast

In the north-western part of the Black Sea there are still 2 surface and 1 submarine cruise missiles, as well as 2 VDK. The threat of missile strikes remains high. The probability of a naval landing operation due to sea waves is reduced, but not ruled out.

Odesa Regional MIlitary Administration reported that the UN humanitarian aid hub will be opened in Odesa.

Kherson oblast

As a result of heavy fighting in the settlements of Beryslav and Kakhovka districts in Kherson oblast, houses were destroyed, civilians were killed and wounded, infrastructure and the river bank were mined. The occupiers continue looting, kidnapping of locals.

It is reported about mining on the shores of the Molodizhnyi Beach in Kherson.

Currently, the situation in the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast remains complex. There is currently no mobile connection and partly no Internet in the occupied area. The situation with the provision of medicines and essentials in the blocked communities of Kherson region remains critically difficult.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian military eliminated 14 soldiers, destroyed 7 units of armored and automobile vehicles and ammunition depots.

The russian occupiers appointed Yevhen Yurievich Chetkarev, a resident of neighboring Kakhovka, mayor of Tavriysk in the Kakhovka district. An employee of the Tavriya City Council said that all employees of the City Council refused to cooperate with the new “mayor”.

The occupation authorities of Kherson oblast have stated that children born after February 24, 2022 will automatically become citizens of russia, as well as orphans.

According to the Kherson prosecutor’s office, the explosion in Chornobaivka killed two local people and injured five others.

Western regions

Volyn and Polissia directions. In the border areas of the Pinsk district of the Brest region, the positions are constructed and fortified in the area. As part of the combat readiness check, one of the mechanized brigades of the republic of belarus practised setting up the military entrance processing station with drafting conscripts into military service.

On June 15, 19K vehicles and more than 77K people crossed Ukraine’s western borders with the EU and Moldova. Almost 40K people left Ukraine, more than 37K returned. 151 trucks with humanitarian aid have been registered.

Zakarpattia oblast

A medical aid truck was shipped to A. Novak Zakarpattia regional hospital. Medical furniture from the Pardubice region, 26 special beds, medical furniture and mattresses from the Czech Republic were delivered.

June 15 border guards detained 14 men of military age who tried to cross the border of Ukraine illegally.

305 enterprises from other regions, which is almost half of all enterprises located in Ukraine, have relocated to Zakarpattia. 256 companies have already resumed operations, others are still relocating.

The Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration said that international experts are on a working visit to Zakarpattia to help solve environmental issues in the region.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Ministry of the Environment and local EcoCity activists, who study air quality, have started working together. Nearly 200 EcoCity stations provide daily air quality monitoring, pollutant concentrations and radiation levels.

Lviv oblast

214 internally displaced persons arrived in Lviv by two evacuation trains. Among them are 13 patients from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts who will undergo outpatient treatment in medical institutions of Lviv oblast.

40 electric generators from the USAID HOVERLA project were shipped to Lviv oblast. The equipment will be sent to local communities, critical infrastructure facilities and places of mass resettlement of IDPs.

The 223rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment named after the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, based in Lviv oblast, was awarded the honorary award “For Courage”.

Lviv Regional Military Administration, Razom for Ukraine Charitable Foundation and Lviv IT Cluster handed over communication equipment, two Starlink satellite communication systems, walkie-talkies, repeaters, tablets, satellite phones, solar panels with built-in battery to the soldiers of the Lviv 125th Detached Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 21 W, computers, laptops and Wi-Fi routers.

In Lviv, the Danish Council for Refugees in Ukraine (DRC) renders free legal support to IDPs affected by russian hostilities and those who want to go abroad.

Rivne region

In Rivne, the art therapy was hosted for those who lost loved ones during the russian invasion and for participants in hostilities. Their purpose is to help survive the crisis and return to life.

Ternopil oblast

Andriy Bindas, a serviceman from Ternopil oblast, decided to sell his awards to buy two SUVs: a pickup truck and a truck for his unit.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration introduced a moratorium in the oblast on  public use of russian-language content in any form until the complete cessation of occupation.

There were no significant changes in other regions.

International support

The US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin after a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine “Ramstein-3” stated that Ukraine will receive 18 155-mm howitzers; 36K 155-mm shells; 18 tactical vehicles for transporting howitzers; additional shells to HIMARS; 4 cars for repair of equipment; 2 coast guard systems with Harpoon missiles; thousands of protected radio stations; thousands of optical devices, including night vision.

The British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that Great Britain is considering sending anti-ship missiles to Ukraine in addition to the already promised weapons.

EBRD together with donors and partners, plans to provide € 1 billion to support Ukraine’s economy.

The spokesman of the Legion Damien Magru said that citizens of 55 countries have become volunteers of the International Defense Legion of Ukraine.

The Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvidas Anusauskas stated that the M113 tracked armored personnel carriers, which Lithuania previously handed over to Ukraine, are already used on the battlefield. 

The Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that Germany will send three MARS multiple rocket launchers with guided munitions to Ukraine.

The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised that Germany is going to introduce an asset register to maximize the effectiveness of sanctions.

The Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy said that Slovakia supplied Mi-17 helicopters, a Mi-2 helicopter, as well as ammunition for the Hail multiple rocket launcher to Ukraine.

President France Macron, German Chancellor Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Draghi and Romanian President Johannis arrived in Ukraine and immediately visited Irpin.

Howard Buffett, son of an American billionaire, donated $ 2.7 million to Ukraine. The funds were sent to the American organization Spirit of America, which helps the Armed Forces. In addition, the Buffett Foundation funded 375 advanced trauma kits for Ukrainians at the forefront.

Biden advised Zelenskyy on additional $ 225 million in humanitarian aid. The US will help Ukraine to build temporary granaries in border regions.

At the Austrian World Summit Climate Conference  in Vienna, former Governor of California  Arnold Schwarzenegger called on Europe to stop paying putin as soon as possible: “Let’s be honest with ourselves. 1300 missiles that russia launched in Ukrainian cities during the first two months of the war, cost € 7.7 billion is a lot. But at the same time, Europe paid russia € 44 billion for fuel. We have blood on our hands because we are financing the war. “

Estonia sent the armored vehicles “Alvis4” to the Ukrainian special unit “KRAKEN”. 

UNICEF with funding from governments of Japan, Norway and Ireland, will provide $ 2 million in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The funds will be used to prepare for starting a new academic year in September 2022. Ukrainian teachers, whose schools were destroyed by the war, have already received 5050 laptops.


Ukrainian Women’s Guard
