Here is operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as for Russian aggression as of 6pm:
The Russian occupiers continue launching air and missile strikes on military and civilian targets on the territory of Ukraine. The combat, numerical composition and nature of the actions of the enemy group remains without significant changes.
Towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversk, the situation has not changed. At the latter, the enemy positions are being equipped and aerial reconnaissance with UAVs is conducted in the border areas.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy shelled the positions of our troops and civilian objects from tanks, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of Duvanka, Kharkiv, Korobochkine, Lebiazhe, Nortsivka, Petrivske, Pischane, Ruski Tyshky, Svitlychne, Verkhniy Saltiv, and Zalyman. There was an airstrike in the area of Mospanove.
Towards Sloviansk, the enemy carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Dolyna, Krasnopillia and Mazanivka. The enemy’s assault operations near Brazhkivka resulted in failure and withdrawal.
Towards Donetsk, the enemy focuses its efforts on attacking military and infrastructure facilities, trying to create conditions for an offensive towards Avdiivka, Bakhmut, and Novopavlivka to improve its tactical situation.
The enemy continuously shells positions of our troops along the contact line to suppress their actions and prevent the transfer of reserves to other directions. The enemy aviation conducts systematic combat actions to support the actions of ground groups.
Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Kramatorsk, Ivano-Dariivka, Pereizne and Verkhniokamianske. The enemy launched an airstrike near Ivano-Darievka.
Towards Bakhmut, the enemy shelled our troops from all available fire means along the contact near Bakhmut, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Kodema, Niu York, Soledar, Travneve, and Zaitseve. Air strikes were launched near Yakovlivka and Zaitseve. Assault operations towards Pylypchatyne – Pokrovske and Dolomitne – Travneve resulted in the enemy’s failure and retreat.
By conducting assault actions from three directions, the invaders tried to establish control over the settlement of Semihiria. They gained a foothold on the outskirts of the settlement.
Towards Avdiivka, the enemy fired at the positions of our troops from tanks, barreled artillery, multiple launch rocket systems along the contact line and in the areas of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Pervomaiske and Yasnobrodivka. An airstrike was launched near Avdiivka.
To improve the tactical position, the invaders conducted assault operations towards Novoselivka Druha – Krasnohorivka, Spartak – Avdiivka, had no success, and withdrew. Aerial reconnaissance with UAVs was conducted to reveal positions of our troops.
Towards Novopavlivka, shelling was recorded near Novoselka, Marinka, Mykilske, Prechystivka, Velyka Novoselka, and Vuhledar. There was an airstrike near Marinka. The enemy conducted assault operations towardsYehorivka – Pavlivka, had no success, and withdrew.
Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy did not conduct active hostilities, shelled the positions of our troops with barreled artillery, MLRSs and tanks in the areas of Bilohiria, Novomykhailivka, Novoandriivka and Zaliznychne. Aerial reconnaissance of our troops’ position was conducted.
Towards the South Buh direction, the enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance, shelled the positions of our troops with barreled and rocket artillery near Kamiane, Karyerne, Kobzartsi, Kyselivka, Lozove, Mykolaiv, Novohryhorivka, Potemkine, Posad-Pokrovske, Shyroke, Stepova Dolyna, Solonchaky, Tavriiske, Trudolubivka, Velyke Artakove, and Zoria, .
The enemy tried to create favourable conditions for the offensive towards Bruskinske – Bilohirka. As a result of the fire damage inflicted by our units, the invaders refused to perform the task.
In the Black Sea and Azov sea, the enemy’s ships focus their main efforts on blocking civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea and damaging military facilities and infrastructure elements in the depths of Ukraine.
Two carriers of sea-based cruise missiles are in combat readiness for using high-precision weapons.
Before the start of the heating season, the government will carry out a mandatory evacuation of people from the territory of Donetsk oblast controlled by Kyiv. These are 200-220 thousand people, including 52 thousand children. The state guarantees them protection and support. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the TOT Iryna Vereshchuk. Those who refuse to evacuate will be forced to sign a refusal form and take full responsibility for their lives.
On Sofiyska Square in Kyiv, relatives of prisoners of war soldiers of the Azov regiment called on the world community to respond to the tragedy that occurred in the colony of occupied Olenivka and recognize Russia as a state sponsor of world terrorism. The event was organised by the initiative group “Vyrii” with the support of the “Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal”. Similar actions are planned over the weekend in a number of foreign cities, including Berlin, Krakow, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Amsterdam, Riga, London. At the same time, the Azov regiment issued a statement in which the blow to the colony in Olenivka was regarded as an act of public execution and assured that putin himself would be executed, and his fake empire would be destroyed.
The Ministry of Defense says that a separate structure is being launched in the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the chaplain service. The main task is to meet the spiritual needs of the military and maintain their morale. Chaplains are trained in a special training program. A mandatory requirement for a chaplain is the presence of a higher theological education.
More than 80% of Ukrainians support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, only 4% being against it. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology. Interestingly, until 2013, accession to the EU was actually supported only by residents of western Ukraine.
Eastern regions
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian troops once again repelled an assault by russian troops near Brazhkivka, Izium district. The invaders shelled Borshchova, Cherkaski Tyshky, Korobochkyne, Lisne, Mospanove, Prudianka and Staryi Saltiv. At least 11 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were shelled with tanks and artillery. The enemy also carried out an air strike near Mospanove.
The city mayor, Ihor Terekhov reports about another case of shelling in Kharkiv. 5 explosions occurred during the night. Invaders hit an educational institution in Sloboda district, there was a huge fire. No casualties are reported. 3 rockets, probably S-300 ones, were launched at the school. Terekhov also confirmed the shelling of Kharkiv Tractor Plant.
According to Head of the Investigation Department of the Regional Police, Serhii Bolvinov, in Nova Bavariia district, the russian federation shelled the territory of a factory that produced and modernized heavy and light armoured vehicles. One of the missiles hit the ground and caused a 5.5m deep crater.
Donetsk oblast
Throughout the day, the invaders shelled and stormed settlements in Donetsk oblast. In all areas but one village, russian troops were crushed and so they withdrew.
During the day, the invaders shelled 17 settlements in Donetsk oblast. 57 civilian infrastructure objects and residential buildings were destroyed and damaged.
Russians continue shelling and bombing cities in Donetsk oblast. The enemy launched air strikes on Krasnohorivka village, the Ocheretyne community. No casualties are reported.
Artillery shelling continues in Krasnohorivka, the Marinka community.A fire broke out in two houses.
The Social Services Centre in Siversk was directly hit. There are no casualties.
The invaders shelled Sloviansk. The city bus station was shelled and nearby non-residential premises were damaged. There were no casualties.
The invaders shelled Bakhmut. One of the shells hit a two-storey building of a railway repair base. Rescuers removed a body from the rubble.
According to the acting commander, Mykyta Nadtochiy, the Azov regiment finds out the names of the performers and organizers of the shooting at the Olenivka colony where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held. The enemy has posted a list of names of the injured and killed, but Azov’s patronage service cannot confirm it yet.
According to Verkhovna Rada Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine started the procedure of returning the bodies of the dead Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka and demands access to the injured and the scene of the explosion.
Wheat fields near Mariupol are burning. There is a threat of fire spreading to nearby warehouses with enemy ammunition and minefields.
Luhansk oblast
According to Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, Ukrainian troops have destroyed a russian reconnaissance group near Verkhnokamianka. The enemy also withdrew in five other directions, from where they tried to break the Ukrainians’ defence.
In Luhansk oblast, partisans made it difficult for the russian invaders to run the railway. They burned down a railway control box near Svatove.
Northern regions
Kyiv oblast
The curfew in Kyiv oblast will last from 11 p.m. till 5 a.m. every day. Temporary restrictions will be extended from July 31 to August 7, 2022, as stated by Head of the Kyiv RMA.
In the last 24 hours the EOD specialists inspected and cleared explosive objects in 14 settlements of Bucha, Brovary, Vyshhorod, Fastiv, and Bila Tserkva districts. They inspected 32.16 hectares of territory, checked 8 households, 1 object, 25.76 km of power lines, and disposed of 571 explosive objects.
Zhytomyr oblast
State-owned forestry enterprises in Zhytomyr oblast are ready to provide firewood for the population and the social sphere. Representatives of the Zhytomyr Regional Forestry and Hunting Department state that due to the gas supply shortage, it is worth taking care of fuelwood supplies well in advance.
A cultural project called ‘Pidval’ (Ukrainian for ‘basement’), supported by the EU, was launched in the Yosyp Buchancuk Museum of Fine Arts in Kmytove. The project aims to support internally displaced persons, namely to assist them with receiving psychological help, unite the community together, and share the experience by expressing it through creativity.
Sumy oblast
The State Border Service reports that the enemy inflicted fire damage on the territory of the Khotyn community. The shelling was carried out using 82-mm mortars; 13 explosions were recorded.
The Mykolaiv community of Sumy oblast was added to the list of territories where hostilities are ongoing. The updated list of communities in the areas of hostilities was approved by the order of the Ministry of Reintegration. In total, it now includes 21 border communities of the oblast.
The head of Sumy MRA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi reported that civilians continue to be blown up by russian mines in Sumy oblast. One person died, four more were injured due detonation and explosion of mines in the Okhtyrka district. One incident happened on the side of the road, the other one – in a field during the harvest.
Reconstruction is underway in Trostyanets. Volunteers and rescuers of the State Emergency Service are working on dismantling the rubble of the shopping center, which was badly destroyed by the enemy shelling.
Chernihiv oblast
The SBGS reports that the Semenivka community has been under enemy fire for the second day in a row. More than fifty explosions caused by mortar and artillery munitions were recorded.
According to the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, 478 civilians were killed and 693 were injured due to russia’s armed aggression in Chernihiv oblast. It was established that 43 people died due airstrikes; 231 – artillery shelling; 90 – shootings from automatic weapons, including those during evacuation by vehicles.
The regional prosecutor’s office is currently investigating 1,328 criminal proceedings. 31 persons were notified of suspicion of committing war crimes.
The regional military administration reports that the defenders of Chernihiv oblast received a pickup truck for combat missions and a solar panel. Assistance was provided by the “Semargl” Charitable Foundation for Regional Development.
In Chernihiv, the maternity hospital, which was damaged during rocket and bomb attacks by russian troops, is being repaired. According to the Chernihiv MRA, the hospital building is being restored. The total estimated cost of repairs is about UAH 2 million.
The Koryukivka City Council reports that thanks to international support from the DOBRE Program, the Koriukivka Central District Hospital received a new modern endoscopic complex, This will improve public service according to advanced medical standards.
Central regions
Vinnytsia oblast
Germany provided Vinnytsia with a mobile X-ray device to find and remove shell fragments.
Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that there were 1,263 shelters in multi-storey buildings in satisfactory condition. Only 25 schools have basements. Other facilities will be provided with shelters in nearby buildings.
The regional council approved renaming of the Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Timiryazev.The name of the russian scientist was removed from the name of the library. Residents of the city and the library staff will decide whose name the library will bear in the future.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian troops shelled the Nikopol district with Grads several times, firing up to 80 shells. A private house was destroyed and 15 more were damaged. Two local businesses were damaged. Five cars, a tractor, and some workshops were damaged. This was reported by Head of Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration Valentin Reznichenko.
Russian army shelled the Kryvyi Rih district with barrel artillery hitting the villages of Velyka Kostromka and Maryanske of the Zelenodolsk community.
A charity concert Blues for Ukraine was held in Dnipro with a unique auction, where more than 100 works of art were presented. All collected funds will be spent to help the Air Command “East” for arranging communication of new mobile groups.
In Yavornytskoho Street, a charitable fair of paintings and handicrafts by masters from Dnipro was held to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Dnipro, money is being collected for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a book stand in Shevchenko Park. The event is a part of the ART_nastup project. In total, over 6,000 books from city libraries were presented.
12-year-old Nadiia from Kryvyi Rih walks the dogs of local residents. All collected funds are used to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now the girl is raising funds for first aid kits for soldiers.
Kirovohrad oblast
The condition of the injured by the shelling on the hangars of the aircraft company in Kropyvnytskyi on July 28, remains stable, said the head of the military administration of Kirovohrad Oblast Andriy Rajkovich. 5 people were killed and 26 were injured as a result of the airstrike.
In Kirovohrad oblast, the narrow-gauge railway connecting Holovanivsk-Haivoron is being repaired. Almost UAH 3 million will be spent on the works. Repairs are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
Poltava oblast
In Poltava oblast, employers received compensation for employment of over 900 displaced persons. Funds are paid from the state budget.
Cherkasy oblast
In Cherkasy, in the art gallery Mystetska Brama, an exhibition of works of art by the Ukrainian artist Lev Nedoseko called Naturalist’s Notes was opened.
Internally displaced people who temporarily live in one of Cherkasy’s schools grow vegetables in the school greenhouse. Last winter, the small greenhouse was neglected, but now greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and cabbage are flourishing there.
Southern regions
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Towards Zaporizhzhia the situation has not undergone any significant changes. The enemy is focusing its main efforts on holding the occupied positions. The enemy shelled civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of Bilohiria, Charivne, Kamianske, Orihiv, Novoandriivka and Zaliznychne settlements. There was an airstrike near Mali Shcherbaky and Novomykhailivka.
There were 48 reports of destruction of civil infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian occupation troops.
During the past day, 970 people, including 253 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.
Several explosions occurred in Enerhodar on the night of July 30. This was reported by Mayor of Energodar Dmytro Orlov. He states that three units of russian military equipment blocking the entrance to the hotel were detonated.
In Zaporizhzhia, the SBU detained an arms dealer and discovered a stash of weapons. In the course of further investigative and operational actions, the SBU employees established the location of a storage of weapons, ammunition and explosives. More than 5 kg of TNT and plastid, as well as an RPG-22 rocket-propelled anti-tank grenade, were among the seized items.
Volunteers from Zaporizhzhia held the race called “We are Zaporizhzhia”. About 80 people ran a distance of 5 to 10 km in order to support the residents of the city, displaced persons and the AFU. The organizers will pass the baton to volunteers from Dnipro and other cities of Ukraine.
Mykolaiv oblast
During the night, the enemy launched three missile strikes on Mykolaiv with the Smerch rocket multi-launcher. At least four residential apartment buildings were damaged. Several private cars, electricity and gas supply lines were destroyed. One woman died in her own apartment, six more people were injured.
The number of victims of the shelling on July 29 in Mykolaiv has increased. As of today, 7 dead and 14 wounded are reported.
In the morning, the Bereznehuvatska community came under fire. Kavkaz and Lepetykha villages were affected.
Fields ignited on the territory of the Shyroke community due to the shelling by russian troops.
Ukrainian aviation launched seven strikes against the enemy. Enemy ammunition depots and fortified underground shelters of russian units in Mykolaiv oblast were hit.
Rescuers eliminated 3 fires in Mykolaiv oblast that arose as a result of enemy shelling during the past day. This is reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast.
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed an enemy agent who was passing information to russian special services. The occupiers planned to use it to launch rocket attacks on Mykolayiv oblast. This is reported by the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast. The traitor collected information and regularly passed it to the representative of the russian federation.
Odesa oblast
There are 2 missile and 2 large amphibious ships in combat readiness in the Black Sea. Some of the enemy ships are heading towards Novorossiysk.
Men, who illegally transported conscripts abroad, were exposed in Odesa oblast, They were using credentials of volunteers and representatives of the Teroborona. This was reported by the regional office of the SBU.
On July 30, the exhibition called “Before the War” opened in the Odesa Art Museum. This is the first exhibition since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, which consists of 60 works acquired by the museum before February 24.
Kherson Oblast
The South Operational Command reports that overnight, Ukrainian defenders destroyed enemy depots of ammunition, fuel and lubricants in the Berislav district, the enemy’s fuel stocks were critically reduced and transport connections in Nova Kakhovka were made as difficult as possible.
The Ukrainian military using four pairs of helicopters attacked the cluster of enemy manpower and equipment in Snihurivka and Beryslav districts, and hit a stronghold in Kherson oblast.
The Russian military carried out artillery shelling of the villages of Vysokopilia, Novovorontsovka, Ivanivka, Olhyne and Ivanivka of Beryslav district. The houses of local residents were damaged and destroyed.
The total losses of the enemy during the past day include 105 occupiers, 7 T-62 and 72 tanks, a howitzer “Msta-B” and 2 self-propelled artillery, a self-propelled artillery and air-droppable mortar “Nona-S”, 17 units of armored and automotive equipment, also 2 field ammunition depots were destroyed in Beryslav and Kherson districts.
The OC “South” confirmed the fire damage to the command post of the battalion tactical group of the 34th separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian army in Bruskinske. The results of the fire control of the main transport routes in the occupied territories of the region indicate that traffic on the railway bridge across the Dnipro River is currently impossible.
According to the British intelligence, the russian military installed two pontoon bridges and a ferry crossing near Kherson to compensate for the loss of the bridges.
Armed soldiers abducted the captain of the 1st rank, the former commander of the Ukrainian ship “Slavutych” Oleksiy Kyseliov in Henichesk. This is reported by the Center for Journalistic Investigations. According to eyewitnesses, on July 22, the so-called “DPR” military broke into Kyseliov’s house and took him to an unknown place with his hands tied and blindfolded. A few days later, the man was transferred to the Simferopol pre-trial detention centre.
The police opened 10 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian military in the region. As a result of the shelling of populated areas, there are dead and injured people. In Kherson, the occupiers abducted a local resident. The russian military seized warehouses of agricultural enterprises and appropriated all the property in four settlements.
Western regions
Volyn
The Volynska RMA reports that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Volyn has received 70K displaced people. 59 919 persons and 42 034 families have the status of IDPs, including 18 587 children.
The first courses on basic weapons were held at the shooting range of the Volyn National University. One hundred students were registered for free training for beginners.
Zakarpattia oblast
The head of customs Mykola Tatarchuk announced that 140 cars were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from warehouses of the Volyn customs office. The vehicles were imported into the territory of Ukraine, violating customs regulations.
The humanitarian cargo, bought by the Athletes for Ukraine e.V. organization, was delivered to Zakarpattia by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine with the assistance of the Zakarpattia RMA. Two pallets of drinking water and about 800 kg of canned food were delivered to the city’s children’s clinical hospital and the Uzhgorod Classical Gymnasium, where 99 forcibly displaced people live.
In Uzhgorod, the Big City Ride bike race was organized in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The Kaluza community received humanitarian aid from the residents of the Polish city of Dembice for the military and residents affected by the war, who found temporary shelter in the community. Benefactors donated hygiene products, clothes, blankets, strollers, toys and diapers.
The Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese reports that the archdiocesan anti-crisis coordination center, which is actively operating in Ivano-Frankivsk in cooperation with the Ukrainian community in Italy, handed over 500 bulletproof vests to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Vysochanka, to support the Ukrainian military, children organized a fair where they sold sweets made with their own pocket money. The earned UAH 3 500 is donated to the Armed Forces.
Over 15 school-aged children living in Kosovo also organized a street trade in the center of the city selling home-made food. The young benefactors gave the proceeds to Ukrainian defenders.
Lviv oblast
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Lviv oblast, sirens have warned of the threat of missile strikes 163 times. The danger lasted for 167 hours and 30 minutes.
Today, 177 people have arrived in Lviv from the places of war by two evacuation trains. 798 people went to Przemysl from Lviv oblast by four trains.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, doctors of the First Medical Association of Lviv have helped 4 315 patients with war injuries, 1 037 of which are children.
As part of the city’s program of the AFU support, the mayor’s office handed over two jeeps to the 125th Lviv Territorial Defense Brigade.
In the regional complex rehabilitation centre of St. Panteleimon in Stebnik for children and persons with disabilities, shelter is provided to people from the areas of hostilities, mainly families with disabled children.
Charitable Foundation Ukrainian Students’ League supported by the Lviv RMA and the Lviv City Council arranged the SHELTER FEST festival in support of the AFU. 80% of the funds collected at the festival will go to humanitarian aid for the military at the front, and 20% – to the Kruk UAV Operator Training Center.
Rivne oblast
Central and western regions of Ukraine will host forced displaced people from Donetsk oblast. This was discussed at the meeting of the Coordination Staff created by the Cabinet of Ministers, which was attended by representatives of the Rivne Regional State Administration. People will be evacuated from Donetsk oblast. The reason for this is ongoing hostilities in the oblast and destroyed infrastructure.
Representatives of the Varash city council and the Rivne RSA inspected protective structures in educational institutions of the oblast before the beginning of the academic year in the “offline” mode.
Ternopil oblast
A meeting of children with Ukrainian stars was held in Ternopil. The event was made possible thanks to cooperation of the NGO “Ambassador of Childhood – the All-Ukrainian public initiative for social adaptation of children in the direction of peer-to-peer communication”, the “Zirkovy Desant” association, as well as the Ternopil RMA and the city council. The event aims to entertain children and distract them from the war in Ukraine.
In Ternopil oblast, children grow vegetables and tea for the Armed Forces. Such an unusual hobby is supported by the social educational project of the Continental Farmers Group company.
The residents of Ternopil equip the basements of high-rise buildings to make comfortable shelters in case of missile strikes.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Nataliya Mushtuk, a volunteer from Netishyn, received an honorary diploma and the “Everything will be Ukraine” award. Mrs. Nataliya donates food products from her farm to the front lines, prepares home-made delicacies for soldiers and supports the Armed Forces financially.
Chernivtsi oblast
The Sokyrian community of Bukovyna immediately received 9 letters of thanks for courage and dedication of the residents of Sokyrian district, who defend the Ukrainian land on one of the front lines of the russian-Ukrainian war.
International support
The country’s government reports that Norway transferred 14 IVECO LAV III armored patrol vehicles to Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, the US has accepted over 100K Ukrainians.
Eight Krab ACS are ready to be shipped from Poland to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy received an award from the Netherlands. The foundation’s website states that the Dutch Independence Award is awarded to people who support viability of the concept of independence by updating its content.
Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Latvia Ilmars Duritis visits the St. Panteleimon Hospital of the First City Medical Association of Lviv, where Ukrainians who were injured as a result of military operations are treated.
Miniature models of Ukraine appeared in the “Mini-Europe” theme park in Brussels. The composition consists of scenes of granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for the EU, Maidan Independence, and the border with Ukrainian refugees.
In Vilnius, a mural dedicated to Ukraine was unveiled at the “House of moscow”. A team of artists from Lithuania, Ukraine, and Estonia took as a basis a photo depicting Tetiana Drobotya, a media representative of the “Palyanytsia” volunteer center.
