Here is the operational information regarding the russian invasion as of 6pm:

Towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversk, no significant changes have been noticed. The enemy used artillery to shell borderline settlements of Bilopillia, Iskryskivka, Novi Vyrky, Studenok and Volfyne. Aerial reconnaissance of borderline areas in Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts continues.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy is trying to keep the occupied positions. Chuhuiv, Mospanove, Petrivka, Protopopivka, Prudianka, Pytomnyk, Ruski Tyshky, Staryi Saltiv, Udy, Vesele and other settlements were shelled by the enemy. The invaders carried out airstrikes near Prudyanka and Verkhniy Saltiv.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy carried out shelling with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of Bohorodychne, Dibrovne, Dolyna, Husarivka, Ivanovka, Komyshuvakha, Kostiantynivka, Kurulka, Mazanivka, Velyka Virnopillya and others. To damage the control system of the Defense Forces and prevent air reconnaissance, the enemy actively uses electronic warfare.

Towards Donetsk, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on establishing control over the city of Siversk and approaching Bakhmut.

Towards Sloviansk, the invaders shelled the civilian infrastructure in Donetsk, Ivano-Darivka, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Vyimka, Zvanivka and others. Ukrainian soldiers promptly thwarted the enemy assault actions near Hryhorivka. The invaders withdrew, suffering losses.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the positions of our troops with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery, specifically near Berestove, Krasna Hora, Novoluhanske, Travneve, Vershyna and Vesele. There were missile and air strikes at Kostiantynivka, Novoluhanske and Pokrovske. The invaders attempted to onslaught and advance towards Berestove, Bilohorivka, Novoluhanske  and Yakovlivka. The enemy’s actions ended in failure and loss of personnel.

Towards Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Prechystivka, Stepove, Stepnohirsk, Volodymyrivka and Zolota Nyva were struck. The enemy launched missile and air strikes near Pokrovsk and Novoselivka Druha.

The invaders tried to gain a foothold in the areas of Mykhailivka, Pavlivka and Novomykhailivka. Ukrainian soldiers retaliated and forced the enemy to escape.

Towards South Buh, the enemy is continuously shelling to disrupt the logistic support of our troops. Civilian and military infrastructure was shelled in Bashtanka, Bila Krynytsia, Bereznehuvate, Blahodatne, Kvitneve, Lotzkyne, Lupareve, Myrne, Novohryhorivka, Prybuzke, Ternivka, Veselyi Kut, and others. There were several missile strikes on Mykolaiv.

Enemy aerial reconnaissance with drones continues. Further missile strikes still threaten the critical infrastructure of the region. 

Our units continue to carry out missile and artillery hits in certain directions and beat invaders in close battles.


On the eighth anniversary of the MH17 crash, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that russia continued to bear grief, but all criminals would be punished. “Russia continues to sow grief and death on Ukrainian soil. But nothing will remain unpunished! Every criminal will be brought to justice!”, said the President. 


According to the estimate of the Chairman of the British Chiefs of Staff Admiral Tony Radakin, Russia has lost over 30 % of its land forces in Ukraine, and 50,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in the war. “Ukrainians are absolutely clear that they plan to return all their territory on their own terms, and they see that russia is having issues,” said Radakin.

 Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has confirmed that the Ukrainian An-12 aircraft carrying Serbian-made defense products to Bangladesh crashed in Greece. “The owner of the goods was a private company Valir from Serbia. This flight had all required permits in accordance with international rules,” Stefanovic said.

Head of the Serbian Defense Ministry added that all An-12 crew members died. The vessel owner was a Ukrainian company.

 Almost 4.5K employers have applied for compensation of labour costs for employment of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The Ministry of Economy noted that almost 7.4K Ukrainians were employed. Since the program was launched, employers have been paid UAH 37.3 million. They can receive a public payment of UAH 6.5K hryvnias for each worker from among IDPs.

Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

Russian troops shelled Petrivka, Pryshyb, Ridne, Ruski Tyshky, Sosnivka, Verkhniy Saltiv villages and Pytomnyk and Slatyne settlements, Kharkiv oblast. According to the General Staff, the invaders are also conducting aerial reconnaissance over the region. At least 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast are under attack. Hostilities continue. Izium’s direction remains an intense one.

According to the head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the enemy launched two missiles at Kharkiv, hitting a private sector and an industrial five-storey building in Kyiv district. A 59-year-old woman was injured. A fire broke out as a result of the strike. The toll of casualties is being verified.

Russian troops shelled Ivashky village, Zolochiv community. It hit warehouses, a distillery and a private building.

According to Chuhuiv mayor, Halyna Minaieva, the city was shelled once again. There were no casualties.

The enemy intensively shelled the Derhachi community – industrial buildings and a car were on fire. A woman was killed and a man injured as a result of the shelling in Nove settlement.

In Chkalovsk community, Chuhuiv district, the roof of a private house was on fire as a result of invaders’ shelling. There were no casualties.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russian troops continue to concentrate their main efforts on attempts to establish control over Siversk and move towards Bakhmut.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, over 70 hectares of wheat were burned as a result of the shelling of Donetsk oblast. Rescuers added that they extinguished four fires in farmlands.

Luhansk oblast

In a small area of the region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to cause damage to russians.

Russians are unable to resume the operations of the Azot plant and invite workers to “restore” production, who receive draft notices.

According to the head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Hayday, the second mobilization wave continues in the occupied territories of Luhansk oblast. Allmen are sent to the frontline.

“Administrations” of the occupied territories are conducting an “inventory of abandoned properties”. Representatives of the so-called “authorities” are looking for properties whose owners moved to the Ukrainian-controlled territories. According to the residents on social media, the invaders plan to give away the square metres for usage.

According to the head of Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration, Oleksandr Striuk, russian-occupied Sievierodonetsk does not have enough food.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

Inspections at checkpoints in Kyiv oblast will become stricter. Brovary town mayor Ihor Salozhko informed that scheduled military drills will be conducted on the territory of Brovary region, therefore security measures will be reinforced.

According to the regional military administration, a rehabilitation center for Ukrainian military and civilians will be created in Kyiv oblast. The center will be opened under the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital #2. The focus will be on orthopedic rehabilitation of patients. Initially, the facility plans to accommodate at least 30 patients.

The Kyiv RMA reports that a bridge over the Zdvyzh River is being restored in Makarov, Kyiv oblast. The bridge is located on the road connecting Vyshhorod, Bucha, and Fastiv regions. There are plans to resume normal traffic through this section of the road shortly.

Another parish in Kyiv oblast switched to the Ukrainian Patriarchate. According to the mayor of Irpin Alexander Markushyn, the community of the Mykhailivka-Rubezhovka village decided to leave the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and move to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Kyiv residents lined up at the temporary animal shelter in Vystavkovy Center. Pets from Kyiv, Irpin, Borodianka, and Hostomel, who lost their owners or got lost because of the war, received shelter there. The guests had a chance to meet the rescued animals, walk them and adopt a pet of their liking.

Seven parks and eco-farms in Kyiv suburbs are welcoming visitors and offer tours. Some of these places suffered from shelling and occupation, but still resumed their work.

Zhytomyr oblast

The National Guard reports that the Guardsmen of the Northern Association were awarded by the First Deputy Interior Minister, Yevhen Yenin, during his visit to Zhytomyr oblast. 6 members of the National Guard received departmental awards. The best police officers and medical personnel were honored too.

Over 1 700 internally displaced people were registered in Malyn region. According to Malyn Town Council, new residents have the right to free medical assistance in public and private hospitals in addition to social, psychological and employment support services. New residents are not supposed to have a signed agreement with a family doctor.

Zhytomyr oblast received 1 500 food packages donated by an American organization, World Central Kitchen. One package is intended for one week for a family. The Zhytomyr Military Administration has signed a memorandum with the charity organization. The region will receive from 1 500 to 3 000 of these food packages each week.

Sumy oblast

The SBGS reports that the russian army continues to shell the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The enemy launched rockets from the plane and shelled it with barrel artillery, MLRS, mortars and small arms. The enemy used reconnaissance aircraft and UAVs for reconnaissance.

The communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Shalygine, Nova Sloboda, Esman and Seredina-Buda of the Sumy oblast came under enemy fire.

The military administration sees no reason to panic and leave the cities. The head of Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, called on residents and guests of the region to remain calm and not to react to provocative statements. However, he noted that “the border area of Sumy oblast is under fire from all types of enemy artillery, so we really need to be vigilant and careful in the 20-kilometer zone from the border.”

Sumy oblast received humanitarian aid from Ukrainian benefactors who help frontline regions. The military regions received camouflage nets, first-aid kits and body armor, as well as medicines and foodstuffs. For further cooperation and assistance to forced migrants, Sumy RMA signed a memorandum with the “Mercy and Health” charity fund.

The Sumy City Council reported that the social project “City of Free People” was launched in Sumy. On the streets of Sumy, 12 big boards and city lights with the inscription “Sumy is the city of free people” were placed. The initiators of the social project urge the citizens to take photos and mark themselves in social networks with the hashtags “Visit Sumy” and “Brand of the city of Sumy” to tell friends around the world about their city.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reports that the enemy continues to shell the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The Snov community of Chernihiv oblast came under enemy fire. The enemy periodically carries out aerial reconnaissance and artillery shelling of the positions of our troops in the border areas.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that preparations for the heating season are underway in Chernihiv oblast, and repair work is being carried out in boiler houses damaged by hostilities. Funds have been allocated by the government from the reserve fund. Currently, the boiler house in the city of Chernihiv on Shevchenko St. has been repaired. The work is ongoing in the boiler house on Belova St.

The mayor of the city, Vladyslav Atroshenko, reports that damaged high-rise buildings are being rebuilt in Chernihiv. The destroyed elements of the roof and broken windows are being replaced at the expense of the local budget. Experts are involved in studying the degree of buildings destruction that were hit by direct missiles. According to the examination results, four houses cannot be renovated. The rest are awaiting current and capital repairs.

Ukrainian-made electric bicycles were presented in Germany. At the largest exhibition in Europe, Eurobike 2022, two models of Chernihiv-made electric bikes were presented – the powerful E-motion electric bike and the BoxTruck cargo bike.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that russian troops shelled the territory of the Apostolic community of Kryvorizhzhia at night. There are no injured or killed civilians.

On July 15, russia fired six Kh-101 missiles at Dnipro. One missile costs up to 13 million dollars. The russians spent 78 million dollars on the Dnipro attack, the Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk said.

Missile fragments shot down by Ukrainian air defense over the Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhzhia fell on the territory of the Vilnohorsk community. One hit the roof of a house in the village of Krynychki, the other hit a city park.

It took 38 hours to extinguish the fire at the “Pivdenmash” enterprise, where russian missiles had previously hit. The head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Valentyn Reznichenko said that 90 firefighters were involved. Currently, one person went missing at the enterprise during the explosions. 3 were killed and 16 injured as a result of the attack.

In Dnipro, Pushkin Avenue was suggested to be renamed to Lesya Ukrainka Avenue with the monument replacement. Signatures for the electronic petition are being collected.

There is an invasion of wild boars in Zelenodolsk. Fleeing from shelling, the animals migrated from the Kherson region to the neighboring region.

Vinnytsia oblast

67 injured after the rocket attack on Vinnytsia continue to receive medical care in hospital. 14people are in serious condition and four – in critical. Patients mostly have burns and shrapnel wounds. Two patients were transported by helicopter to the Lviv burn center, three more are being prepared for transportation.

The entire building of the Officers’ House will not be demolished. After the rocket strike, the building was in an emergency state. So specialists of the State Emergency Service decided to dismantle the rubble. Serhiy Borzov, head of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, noted that only emergency structures, which, according to the experts’ conclusions, are dangerous, will be dismantled.

Vinnytsia City Council reported that the American international organization “Global Empowerment Mission” (“GEM”) BStrong will help restore houses damaged by a rocket attack on Vinnytsia. Its representatives visited the place hit by the missiles, and sent food and hygiene kits to people from the affected houses. Currently, 150 windows are to be installed in damaged houses.

Kirovohrad oblast

The head of the regional department of education Elza Leshchenko reported that in Kirovohrad oblast, 26% of schools have equipped shelters. 

On the Alley of Honorable Burials of the Far Eastern Cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi, a commemorative sign “Bell of Memory” was installed for fallen soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kropyvnytskyi students initiated the information toponymic project “Figures of my city”. The author of the project Yelyzaveta Yereshchenko said that the idea is to share the information on those whose names the streets bear. 

In Kropyvnytskyi, resettled women who lost their jobs due to the war, can learn the professions of hairdressers and massage therapists as part of the “Adaptation through Culture” project.

Poltava oblast

Poltava craftswoman Tamara Kovtun embroiders a map of Ukraine. She plans to sell it at an auction, raising funds for treatment and rehabilitation of Poltava soldiers.

According to the head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets, the air-to-ground missiles that hit the farm in Cherkasy region, cost $13 million each.

The students of the Cherkasy art studio “Colors of Inspiration” paint clothes for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Children decided to draw cats. Later, the clothes will be given to the wounded soldiers. According to the coordinator of the public organization “Our Battalion” Iryna Apilat, who organizes the transfer of aid for fighters, it motivates our defenders a lot.

A traveling library from Luhansk visited Cherkasy. Employees of the local regional book collection rescued it for the second time since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. In 2014, they had already evacuated it to the city of Starobilsk. Instead of the traditional library work, they switched to informal education and now they hold discussion clubs, free online courses of Ukrainian language and media literacy, and musical events.

Volunteers of the Cherkasy Charitable Foundation “Force of Kindness” give the  displaced people thousands of food kits per day.

The author’s historical tours were held in Cherkasy. In four weeks, they were visited by about 500 residents of Cherkasy and guests of the city. More than 27 000 hryvnias were raised to repair cars for the front line, clothes and medicine for the soldiers.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

There were explosions in Zaporizhzhia today. Zaporizhzia RMA informs that the russian military was shelling populated areas on the contact line with rocket salvo systems. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or fatalities. The infrastructure was not destroyed.

The enemy carried out 61 shellings of Ukrainian defenders’ positions using tank gunnery, artillery, and MLRS along the entire contact line.

Police received 12 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian occupation forces in the areas of Novoiakolivka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Lukianivka.

743 people, including 174 children, were evacuated. 

More than 800 people line up to evacuate from Melitopol. It was reported by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov. The city authorities plan to evacuate them within a week and a half. Priority is given to women and children.

About 8K hectares of cultivated land have already been destroyed in Zaporizhzhia oblast as a result of russian shelling. However, farmers plan to harvest 400K tons of early grain crops. Zaporizhzhai RMA says that the affected households should record the losses. Public aid programs for farmers are suspended.

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov informs that representatives of the self-proclaimed “authority” of the city of Melitopol are going to deport residents for their pro-Ukrainian position.

Teachers will work with the students of the destroyed gymnasium in Kamianske, Vasylivka district according to a new program starting from the new academic year. It provides comprehensive assistance to children who were traumatized  psychologically during the war. Currently, there are 164 students studying at the gymnasium, with 20 teachers working with them. Some students moved from the war zone to Poland and Germany, but most – to Zaporozhzhia. Teachers who are able to provide remote learning have also moved to the regional center.

Mykolaiv oblast

Several neighborhoods of Mykolaiv were subject to a massive rocket attack at night. Previously S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, equipped with modified shells of enhanced destructive effect, were used. This is reported by the South Operational Command.

Fields burned in the Ingul community, Bashtanka district, due to evening shelling. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Shelling of villages along the demarcation line continues in the Bereznehuvate community. Data on victims and damage is being verified.

The enemy hit Bashtanka at night with Smerch multiple rocket launcher. Most shells hit the feed mill, some hit the field outside the settlement. During another night shelling, 152 mm shells damaged two private buildings in Vysunsk. There were no casualties. 

In total, four people were killed and 37 injured as a result of yesterday’s shelling in the Mykolaiv oblast.

3 fires were registered on the territory of Mykolaiv oblast during the previous day. The fires broke out as a result of the fall of ammunition and debris from them. This is reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Odesa oblast

The enemy ship group currently consists of 2 missile ships and 1 large amphibious ship. Enemy ships carry out service in missile-safe areas covered by their coastal air defense systems.

The enemy continues attacking Zimiinyi (Snake) Island periodically. At night, a pair of Su-24 bombers again attacked the remnants of the enemy equipment on the island. There are no losses of Ukrainian forces.

Kherson oblast

According to the South Operational Command, units of the russian occupying forces are massively changing their deployment points in Kherson oblast, trying to hide behind the civilian population. Some buildings where the russian military used to be based have been abandoned. New locations are situated in densely populated residential areas.

Shelling was recorded in the areas of Novovorontsovka, Kobzartsi, Blahodatne, Bila Krynytsia, Trudolyubivka, Novohryhorivka, Olenivka, Prybuzke, Oleksandrivka, Lupareve and others in the South Buh direction.

The occupiers conducted aerial reconnaissance by UAVs of operational-tactical and tactical levels to detect changes in the position of Ukrainian troops and adjust fire. The enemy continued the engineering equipment of the positions, trying to strengthen the defense lines in Kherson oblast with reinforced concrete structures.

In accordance with the tactics of air attacks, the enemy tried to attack our units in the north of the Kherson oblast with a Ka-52 helicopter. There was no success.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Lancet-type attack unmanned aerial vehicle near Oleksandrivka.

According to the results of firing missions, enemy losses in the amount of 36 troops, 2 T-72 tanks, a self-propelled howitzer “Msta-S”, an anti-aircraft missile complex “Tor”, armored and automotive equipment, as well as 2 field warehouses of ammunition, 2 sections of MANPADS with standard weapons and ammunition were confirmed in Kherson oblast.

The russian military robbed the recreation centers “Hileia”, “Halychyna” and “Misfora” in the village of Lazurne. This was reported in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies.

According to the Association for Reintegration in Crimea, the so-called “authorities” threaten local residents with deportation to russia via the occupied Crimea and Mariupol for any actions of local residents that the russian military considers a “violation”.

Western regions

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the security situation towards Volyn and Polissia has not changed significantly, but a strict ban was imposed on citizens visiting forests in the north of Volyn oblast. The border with belarus has been guarded. In case of provocations by the Armed Forces, the Territorial Defense  and volunteer units are ready for decisive action.

Over 43K people left Ukraine across the western border. 39K citizens of our state returned.

Volyn

Benefactors from Lithuania sent a mobile hospital car to the Volyn Territorial Medical Association for Protection of Motherhood and Childhood.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Volyn RMA with benefactors, another car was sent to one of the Volyn military units to carry out combat missions.

Zakarpattia oblast

Over 50 entrepreneurs who moved to Zakarpattia oblast because of the war took part in the Go-Adapt Business Forum in Uzhhorod. The RMA stated that, despite the war, Ukrainian business is actively developing and making its contribution to the country’s economy.

The photo exhibition “Chronicle of the Russian-Ukrainian War” by military correspondent Serhiy Vaganov was opened in Uzhhorod. It presents almost 40 photos taken by the author during the four years of the war.

A 13-year-old Matviy Glazunov, an internally displaced teenager from Avdiivka to Zakarpattia, makes wool toys himself. The boy creates short films using the complex puppet animation technique “Stop motion”, in which he uses his woolen dolls.

The team of Zakarpattia RMA has developed and implemented its own program of psychological support and organization of leisure time for servicemen who are in permanent deployment points.

Andriy Yurkovskyi, a young Uzhhorod resident, joined the all-Ukrainian challenge, where he invites everyone to play chess or checkers with him. The guy has only one condition – in case of loss, the opponent leaves a certain amount of money, which Andriy will later transfer to the needs of defenders. He collected UAH 574 in just one day. Andriy plans to collect UAH 30K.

Thanks to the help of the Burgenland government, 116 children from Zakarpattia went on vacation to Austria. According to the head of Zakarpattia RMA Viktor Mykyta, about 600 children will go on vacation to Austria.

A military serviceman from Luhansk, who since the full-scale war began, performed combat tasks as part of the Luhansk border detachment, met with his family, whom he had not seen since February 24, in Uzhhorod.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
