Here is operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6pm:

Air and missile strikes on military and civilian targets on the territory of Ukraine continue. Today air alarms have been sounding all day long.

Towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversk, the situation has not changed significantly. Towards Siversky, the enemy fired barrel artillery at Shevchenkove, Tovstodubovo and Zapsillia, Sumy oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, the districts of Kharkiv, Svitlychne, Rus’ki Tyshky, Slatyne and twenty other settlements were shelled by the enemy with barrel and rocket artillery. Enemy aircraft hit near Verkhnyi Saltiv, Pryshyb, Rubizhne and Odnorobivka.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy fired  Bohorodychne, Brazhkivka, Dibrovne, Dolyna, Krasnopillia, Konstantynivka and Sloviansk with barrel and rocket artillery. The invaders made an unsuccessful attempt to attack towards Nova Dmytrivka.

Towards Kramatorsk, there was artillery shelling near Hryhorivka, Ivano-Dariivka, Spirne, Siversk, and Verkhniokamianske.

Towards Bakhmut, the settlements of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Kodema, Kostiantynivka, Maiorsk, Shumy, Soledar, Vasiukivka, Vesela Dolyna, Yakovlivka  and Zaitseve were shelled from the enemy’s barrel and rocket artillery. By launching airstrikes, the enemy tried to destroy important facilities in Soledar and Bakhmut.

The occupiers tried to gain a foothold towards the settlements of Kodema, Bakhmutske and Soledar. They were rebuffed and retreated.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy used barrel artillery and multiple launch rocket systems to shell Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Oleksandropol, Opytne and Vodiane. The enemy launched airstrikes targeting Marinka, Oleksandropil and Vodiane.

By conducting offensive and assault actions, the invaders tried to establish control over the settlements of Pisky and Nevelske. They had no success, suffered losses and withdrew.

Towards Novopavlivka, airstrikes were launched near Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka and Novomaiorske.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the enemy’s offensive towards the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Peremoha, and Velyka Novosilka.

The enemy shelled Novopol, Mali Shcherbaky, Orikhiv and fifteen other settlements with barrel and rocket artillery. Enemy aircraft hit near Dorozhnianka, Novoselska, Novopol and Poltavka. 

The enemy’s ships in the Black and Azov Seas continue to block civilian shipping in the northwestern part and destroy military facilities and infrastructure in the depths of Ukraine.

Towards the South Buh, to deter our troops the enemy fired the territory along the contact line from available means of fire damage. There were airstrikes launched at Andriivka, Bila Krynytsya,  Lozove, Oleksandrivka, Potiomkino, Trudoliubivka and Velyke Artakove.

The invaders made an unsuccessful attempt to attack Mykolaivka. The Ukrainian military inflicted losses on the enemy and forced them to retreat.


In the six months of a full-scale war against Ukraine, the russians lost 12 142 pieces of equipment worth $16.56 billion, excluding missiles. According to Forbes Ukraine, the largest loss of the occupiers was the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet missile cruiser Moskva worth $750 million, which in mid-April was sunk with Ukrainian Neptune missiles. The second most expensive loss of the invaders was a large landing aircraft IL-76 worth $86 million shot down by air defense forces in late February in the sky over Vasilkiv in Kyiv oblast.

Head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell is convinced that in the long run security guarantees should be envisaged for Ukraine to prevent the war conflict in the future. He wrote about this in his blog on the website of the European Foreign Policy Service. Now the war has entered a new phase: “Thanks to the military support of the West, Ukraine managed to stop the russian offensive and liberate some territories, especially in the south of the country near Kherson.”

Ukrainian natural resources have suffered losses from russia’s armed aggression estimated at UAH 395 billion. This was reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. For six months of the war, more than 2K facts of environmental damage were recorded. Losses due to air pollution amounted to UAH 176 billion, water resources – UAH 106.3 billion, and soils – UAH 8.8 billion.


Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, the enemy shelled our positions with rocket and barrel artillery and conducted UAV reconnaissance. On August 23-24, russian invaders shelled at least 12 settlements in Kharkiv oblast with artillery. They also failed in their offensive toward Nova Dmytrivka, Izium district.

Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the enemy shelled Kharkiv city and settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts. Household buildings in Kharkiv were damaged. One man was injured. Forest fires occurred in Chuhuiv district due to shelling.

The enemy massively shelled Tsyrkuny village. Four fires broke out in the village. Households and outbuildings were damaged. A man was injured.

The enemy shelled the Shevchenkove district three times from MRLs, probably with cluster munitions. A man was injured. A rocket, preliminary Kalibr, also exploded near the area. Houses were damaged and a fire broke out.

Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, informed that russian troops hit Nova Bavariia district. Windows in the house were broken.

Overnight in Kharkiv, doctors hospitalized a woman with an explosive injury. Her 5-year-old daughter was so badly stressed about shelling that she also needed medical help.

During the night, the enemy launched a missile strike (probably with S-300 missiles) against Dokuchaievske village, Rohan community, Kharkiv district. A farm building was destroyed and there was a large-scale fire. No casualties.

Head of Mala Danylivka village, Oleksandr Hololobov, said that the invaders shelled the village with cluster munitions. Two civilians were injured. Five fires broke out in the private sector as a result of the shelling. At least six residential buildings were also damaged.

The enemy also shelled Derhachi city with artillery. The consequences are being established.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in Donetsk oblast, Ukrainian troops repelled the invaders’ offensive in four directions. Russians failed in their attempt to advance toward Nova Dmytrivka. They also attempted to gain a foothold in the direction of Bakhmut, Kodema and Soledar. Once again they attempted to establish control over Nevelske and Pisky settlements. They withdrew with losses. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also repelled the enemy offensive in the directions of Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Peremoha and Velyka Novosilka.

Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that one person was killed in Bakhmut and two more residents of Donetsk oblast were injured as a result of russian shelling.

Referring to the Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops in Donetsk direction eliminated 30 russian invaders and destroyed one tank. Our artillery units launched strikes on a buildup of invaders’ personnel and equipment. The final losses of the enemy are being clarified.

In front-line Bakhmut, utility services partially resumed the supply of electricity and water to the city despite the danger of shelling.

Luhansk oblast

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that russian troops shelled settlements on the border between Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts 35 times and launched three rocket attacks on the eve of Independence Day. He also noted that Sievierodonetsk was almost destroyed. Active hostilities are ongoing in two villages in Luhansk oblast – settlements are constantly being taken over by one side or the other.

Russians shelled 13 times with barrel artillery and another 17 times with multiple rocket launchers. Mortars were used five times. Russian troops were forced to retreat six times as they attempted to attack.

Haidai claimed that in Luhansk oblast, some settlements need to be rebuilt almost from scratch. However, the authorities are already holding preliminary negotiations to rebuild the region.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

A delegation from the ‘United for Ukraine’ inter-parliamentary network has arrived in Kyiv oblast. The guests visited towns in the oblast affected by russian aggression, including the damaged hospital in Makariv, the destroyed Community Hall in Irpin, the cemetery in Bucha, and destroyed buildings in Borodyanka.

João Cravinho, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, also visited Kyiv on the Independence Day of Ukraine. The minister announced this on his Twitter page. João Cravinho expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people and promised further military, financial and humanitarian support.

To celebrate the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, drones carrying blue and yellow flags were launched in the air in the capital, with the largest of them being 260 square meters. This way the online platform UNITED24 expressed gratitude to the military and informed about the ongoing fundraising for the Drone Army.

Ukraine’s first memorial to the Territorial Defence Forces has been erected in Irpin. The authors of the monument wanted to honour the volunteers who had been defending the town from the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to the town mayor Oleksandr Markushyn, 38 territorial defence fighters were killed during the active hostilities.

The State Security Service of Ukraine has exposed plans of russian special services to conduct staged rallies in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Poltava oblasts. The paid activists were supposed to criticize the military command of Ukraine and videotape the demonstration. The rally was to be organised by former members of the Stremousov’s Journalists public organization, whose leader, Kyrylo Stremousov, is currently collaborating with the russians in Kherson.

An installation called “Free Azovstal defenders” was created in downtown of Kyiv to symbolise the trial of Ukrainian prisoners of war who defended Azovstal. The installation was created on the initiative of the Azovstal Defenders Family Association together with the 24.02 Charitable Foundation and TSD Agency.

Zhytomyr oblast

Today, Zhytomyr was celebrating Independence Day together with the rest of our country. Festive activities were held in the center of Zhytomyr featuring creative ensembles. Several times the performances were interrupted by air-raid alarms causing organizers and the audience to head for shelter.

From the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, workers of the Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine have saved more than 1 300 lives in Zhytomyr oblast. Since the first days, doctors provided care to victims of enemy bombing.

Sumy oblast

The north of Sumy oblast came under russian mortar fire. 4 explosions were in the Esman community. 8 explosions were on the territory of the community, on the outskirts of Bachivsk in the morning. The shelling of the Znob-Novgorodske community ended at 9 o’clock in the morning, 3 explosions were recorded. The head of the Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, said that there were no casualties or destruction.

The charity “Save Ukrainian culture” project was launched in Ukraine. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reported that this is a collection of funds for restoration of the cultural heritage destroyed by the russian army. The list also included attractions of Sumy oblast – the König Manor and the Okhtyrka Museum of Local Lore. Everyone is invited to participate in reconstruction of the heritage – both foreign governments and people who care about culture.

Chernihiv oblast

 The “North” OC reports that russian troops shelled the Novgorod-Siverskyi and Koryukivka districts, as well as Semenivka five times on the Independence Day of Ukraine, August 24.

At 9 a.m., four explosions were recorded in the Novgorod-Siverskyi District. The fire was provoked by self-propelled guns from the russian settlement of Sluchovsk. There were seven more explosions in the area of Semenivka community, and later – 8 mortar attacks in the area of the village of Hirsk. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down the russian “Orlan” drone.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that priority work on restoration of the damaged infrastructure is ongoing in Chernihiv oblast. In several hospitals of Chernihiv, windows and doors were installed, and the roof was restored. Work continues on restoration of three residential high-rise buildings in the city and on Chernihiv power lines.

A new “Vilni. Nezlamni. Neperemozhni.” stamp was redeemed in Chernihiv oblast. The stamp is dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine and the sixth month of the heroic defense of Ukraine against russian aggression. Those who wish can buy a set with repayment online, purchase a season ticket, already available in the online store, and pick up the stamp in person.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast 

President Zelenskyy reported at the UN Security council that 15 people were killed, 50 wounded, as a result of the missile attack on Dnipropetrovsk oblast. “Rescuers are working on the spot. The toll of casualties can grow”, the President states. 

The air raid siren sounded in the region all night. The region was attacked with missiles, Grad and Uragan MRLS. The russian army fired at Dniprovskiy, Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih regions.

Two enemy’s X-22 missiles hit Dniprovsk region. The fire broke out as a result of the explosion.

The russians fired at Nikopol region four times from heavy artillery and Grad MRLs. Two houses were destroyed, 10 damaged. 20 missiles hit the region. The household was destroyed. There are no casualties. 

One house was destroyed, several damaged, in Chervonohryhoriv community. There were no casualties. 

Head of RMA, Valentyn Reznichenko, informs that the occupiers hit Synelnykove region three times. A private house was targeted. A woman and two kids were stuck under the rubbles. An 11-year old was killed, a woman and a 13-year old were rescued.

Vinnytsia oblast 

Kids from Vinnytsia residential complex “Dynastia” help collect the funds for the soldiers of the 120th territorial defense brigade. They make patriotic bracelets and sell them. “Volunteer realm” informs that they collected 4 622 UAH. 

Kirovohrad oblast 

In Kropyvnytskyi, all interested people are being taught to speak and write in Ukrainian properly. There are internally displaced people among the teachers holding the classes for those who refused to speak russian. Classes will be held once a week in Honcharenko center. 

Poltava oblast

Russian troops hit the military infrastructure of Myrhorod with X-22 air-to-surface missiles. Head of RMA, Dmytro Lunin, informed about four strikes. There were no casualties. 

The Security Service of Ukraine informed that they prevented FSB plans to use relatives of Ukrainian defenders to exacerbate the social and political situation in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava regions prior to the Independence Day. FSB through “Stremousov journalists” social organization attempted to hold rallies against mobilization to the Armed Forces. Relatives of the Ukrainian defenders were planned to be involved.

Dmytro Lunin, head of RMA, advised that the agrarians of Poltava region made a symbolic gift to the Independence Day by completing harvesting. They threshed 1.5 million tonnes of grains, including 1.1 million tonnes of wheat. This year agrarians had to face military and weather challenges. 

Cherkasy oblast

A new stamp from Ukrposhta was defaced in the heart of Ukraine, Cherkasy region. It is a special independence day edition. There are six images symbolizing six months of the war: Ukrainian defender, a woman in the destroyed house, bombarded Mariupol theater, blood covered toy from Kramatorsk railway station, stroller and bags.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy shelled Novopil, Maly Shcherbaky, Orikhiv and fifteen other settlements with barrel and rocket artillery. Enemy aircraft struck the territory near Novosilka, Poltavka, Novopil and Dorozhnianka.

The city’s civil infrastructure was damaged as a result of the night attack of the russian troops on Zaporizhzhia. 6 multi-storey buildings were damaged. 

There were 32 reports on destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian forces. As a result of the shelling, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka in Polohy district, Stepnohirsk in Vasylivka district, Komyshuvakha, Novoiakovlivka, Zhovtenke, and Zarichne in Zaporizhzhia district were affected. There are almost 30 destroyed private houses.

Ivan Sushko, appointed by the occupiers as the “head” of Mykhailivka village in Melitopol district, died as a result of a car explosion.

1 344 people, including 331 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. 

The used anti-tank complex “Fagot” was painted with elements of Petrykiv painting in Zaporizhzhia. The volunteers plan to sell it at an auction on October 14 to use the funds to purchase equipment that will help Ukrainian defenders in the fight against the enemy.

On the occasion of Independence Day, flowers were placed in Zaporizhzhia at memorials and monuments to outstanding fighters for freedom and independence. Flower-laying ceremonies were held on Defenders of Ukraine Alley, near the “Grieving Mother” monument, monuments to Taras Shevchenko, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, and Heroes of Chernobyl.

The “Honor and Dignity” monument, dedicated to the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, was opened on August 24 in Zaporizhzhia. The names and surnames of those who died during the Revolution of Dignity are engraved on the ceiling. The stele is up to 8 meters high, made of stainless steel, and depicts a trident and a falcon.

Mykolaiv oblast

The enemy fired at Bereznehuvate from S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. The buildings of educational institutions and forestry were damaged. There are no casualties.

25 houses were damaged, 7 civilians were injured, including 2 children as a result of the missile attack on Novyi Buh.

In the morning, russian occupiers fired at one of the private agricultural enterprises of Mykolaiv oblast. A repair workshop in Mykolaiv district on an area of 500 square meters ignited. This is reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast.

After yesterday’s enemy shelling of Shyroke, residential buildings and agricultural buildings were destroyed.

An agent of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the russian federation was detained in the course of a special counter-sabotage operation in the front-line areas of Mykolaiv oblast. This is reported by the Security Service of Ukraine. A resident of Mykolaiv oblast collected intelligence data on the deployment, movement and armament of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction. According to the investigation, the traitor’s key task was to establish and transfer to the occupiers the coordinates of the combat positions of the HIMARS reactive artillery systems.

The police officer together with the head of the Lymany and Lupareve villages delivered food products to the residents of 18 societies who found themselves in difficult life circumstances due to the military aggression of the russian federation. More than 100 pensioners and low-income citizens received food kits from community assets and the police.

Odesa oblast

10 enemy ships and boats are maneuvering in the Black Sea, behind Cape Tarkhankut, along the Crimean coast. Four of them are Kalibr missile carriers, including 1 submarine with almost 30 missiles on standby.

A man who justified russia’s invasion of Ukraine was detained in Odesa. During the search, documents were seized from the suspect – a citizen’s and foreign passport of a russian citizen, a pension certificate of an FSB major, and bank cards of russian banks.

Stand-up comedian Mark Kutsevalov, who has been traveling Ukraine on foot since August 6 to raise funds for 3 ambulances, ends his trek on Independence Day by climbing Hoverla. The “Laughter League” champion went on a charity hike from his hometown Chornomorsk to Mount Hoverla to raise money for ambulances. His goal is UAH 2,850,000 for three “ambulances”.

Kherson oblast

In the South Buh direction, the russian military shelled the area along the contact line with the available means of fire damage.

During the combat day, the enemy launched 10 air strikes by attack aircraft and helicopter pairs. Without our losses.

Aviation struck the areas of Trudoliubivka, Andriivka, Potiomkine, Oleksandrivka, Lozove, Velyke Artakove and Bila Krynytsia.

Ukrainian defenders launched 3 helicopter strikes on the buildup of enemy manpower, weapons and equipment in Novovoznesensk, Arkhanhelsk and Pravdyno. As a result, the enemy suffered losses: 13 occupiers, a self-propelled howitzer “Msta-S” and 3 units of automobile equipment. The ammunition warehouse in Novovoskresenske was destroyed. The final losses of the enemy are being clarified.

According to the results of firing missions by Ukrainian missile and artillery units, 10 soldiers and 120-mm mortars were destroyed. Other losses are being investigated.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, 578 people have been kidnapped or disappeared in Kherson oblast since the russian military aggression. There are 18 deputies of regional and local councils, 47 law enforcement officers and 2 clergymen among them. Currently, the russians continue to illegally detain 237 people.

Western regions

Volyn

The HONP in Volyn received a report about the mining of the Lutsk mall. Specialists conducted a full inspection of the mall – no explosives or other dangerous items were found.

In Lutsk, on the Theater Maidan, the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Olenivka was commemorated and a rally was held in support of the prisoners of Azov.

Residents and entrepreneurs of the Zhirychiv Starostyn district in the Ratniv community collected funds for a car for the Ukrainian military. Ratniv agrarians repaired and painted the car. Volunteers from Ivanychiv also bought a car for the fighters on the front line.

The Volyn Museum of Local Lore presented the exhibition The Road to Independence, which reproduces the current realities. There you can see fragments of enemy rockets destroying the Lutsk airfield and the suit of a firefighter who extinguished a fire at a local oil depot.

Monuments of the totalitarian communist regime are being dismantled on the Hill of Glory in Uzhhorod. The inscriptions and soviet symbols on the monuments will be removed and the bas-reliefs from the triumphal arch will be dismantled.

Zakarpattia oblast

Head of the Zakarpattia RMA Viktor Mykyta presented state awards to the families of defenders who died in the war with russia.

The dawn of Independence Day in Uzhhorod began with the traditional Prayer for Ukraine, performed by the Honored Academic Zakarpattia People’s Choir.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk RMA met with the founder and initiator of the With Ukraine movement, Spanish professor Pedro Ubrina, and the abbot of the All Saints of the Land of Ukraine Orthodox Church Yuriy Burak. Creation of a large rehabilitation center for military personnel and internally displaced persons in Prykarpattia was discussed at the meeting. 

In the Memorial Square, on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, a commemoration of those who gained independence at the cost of their lives and defended the territorial integrity of Ukraine took place.

On the Independence Day of Ukraine, the Carpathian rescuers joined the patriotic Race in embroidery. The purpose of the race is to help the Ukrainian army. Funds collected during the race were transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Medical workers of the Ivano-Frankivsk Central City Clinical Hospital will transfer the daily wage to the needs of the Armed Forces. In six months, the medical staff transferred over UAH 500K to our defenders.

Lviv oblast

On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, exhibitions of unique grass-winding dolls and embroidered paintings were opened in Lviv. A total of 25 works are presented – exactly the same number of regions of Ukraine plus the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

In Lviv, the patriotic painting Independents was created in the park Na Valakh – a white canvas was placed on the square, which was randomly painted with brushes in blue and yellow colors.

Heroes of all times who died defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine were commemorated at the Lychakiv cemetery.

In Lviv, granite slabs were installed on the Alley of Glory of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. They are engraved with the names of graduates of the Academy of Ground Forces who died during the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine.

Lviv is preparing for the heating season of 2022-2023. As of today, indoor heating systems are filled with water in 1 394 houses. This is 65% of the total number of houses with central heating.

100 anesthesiologists and emergency doctors of the First Medical Association of Lviv took part in an educational master class on ultrasound diagnostics in intensive care and regional anesthesiology. The teachers were doctors from Johns Hopkins Medicine Hospital (USA).

Funding of the Program for the Implementation of Priority Infrastructure Projects continues in the region. Almost UAH 8 million was allocated to this program from the regional budget. These funds are used to repair dormitories, engineering networks, roofs, replace windows and doors for IDPs to live in.

The Drohobytsk District Military Administration in partnership with the Kolo Charitable Foundation within the framework of the 1000 Freedom Cars initiative sent 4 SUVs to Ukrainian defenders at the front. Rivne oblast

In Rivne, it was reported that three objects were mined – the railway station, the old bus station and the market on Sahaidachny. The national police, rescuers and SBU went to examine them – no explosives or other dangerous objects were found.

The installation The Price of Independence is in operation in Rivne. This year, on Independence Square, not only stands were placed about the fallen members of the ATO/JFO from the Rivne community, but also new ones dedicated to 60 Heroes who gave their lives during the full-scale war with russia.

The team of Rivnegaz and the community of the Rivne basketball club bought a car, a quadcopter, field vests, tactical clothing and other things for the West Military Complex.

In the Bilokrynytsia community, a new mural Storks of Memory was created, which was dedicated to the National Guardsmen who died as a result of a rocket attack on the Antopil television tower. Local artist Valentina Tyshkun depicted the site of the rocket strike and 21 storks as a symbol of each person who died as a result of the tragic morning of March 14, 2022.

Ternopil oblast

On the occasion of Independence Day, Head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Trush, presented state awards to servicemen and families of fallen Heroes.

Deputies of the Ternopil City Council decided to auction a monument in the form of a soviet MIG-17 aircraft. Using the proceeds, they plan to purchase an army of drones for the Armed Forces.

In the building of the former children’s library of the city of Chortkiv, volunteers began arranging a volunteer museum residence.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Head of Khmelnytskyi RMA Serhii Gamalii reported that 2 rockets were fired at the critical infrastructure of the Shepetiv district. The fire was put down. Windows and doors were broken in nearby houses. Information about the victims is being clarified.

In Khmelnytskyi oblast, local farmers congratulated citizens on Independence Day by creating record-breaking huge compositions in their fields – two Coats of Arms and a map of Ukraine. The length of one of the coats of arms reaches 600 meters.

A patriotic bicycle parade was held in Khmelnytskyi, in which about a hundred cyclists took part. UAH 3.5K collected during the event were transferred to the purchase of a quadcopter for Ukrainian defenders.

During July-August, the artists of the academic symphony orchestra of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Philharmonic and the choir of the ensemble Cossacks of Podillia gave concerts in a number of cities in Germany, Austria and Slovenia. The concert tour took place within the framework of cooperation between the Khmelnytskyi Regional Philharmonic and the German Star Entertainment agency. The artists collected donations for the UNITED 24 fundraising platform.

Mayor of Khmelnytskyi Oleksandr Simchyshyn reported that due to the nuclear terrorism, which was arranged by russia on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, potassium iodide tablets will be distributed to the residents of the Khmelnytskyi community.

Chernivtsi oblast

On the Day of the National Flag, awards were presented to the families of the fallen Heroes of Bukovyna in the Chernivtsi RMA – For Courage orders of the 3rd degree.

In the village of Romankivtsi of the Sokyryan urban community, the children, setting up a roadblock at the local railway station, collected almost UAH 60K for the needs of the Armed Forces in 3 days.

The organizers of the Vyshyvanka Day, which was started in Chernivtsi, created a women’s Vyshyvanka modeled after Stepan Bandera’s shirt. Embroidered shirts are being sold, and they plan to buy an ambulance with the money collected.

International support

The US will provide almost $3 billion in military aid to Ukraine. The White House announced this on Ukraine’s Independence Day. Air defense systems, drones, artillery systems, ammunition and radars will be purchased using these funds.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new $63.7 million aid package for Ukraine. It will include 850 hand-held Black Hornet micro-drones and vehicles for searching for mines in coastal waters.

Norway and Britain sent $9 million worth of Black Hornet microdrones to Ukraine, which are convenient for conducting reconnaissance in the conditions of urban battles.

Germany will provide Ukraine with additional weapons worth over €500 million. Germany plans to additionally supply Ukraine with three Iris-T air defense systems, a dozen armored evacuation vehicles, 20 missile launchers, high-precision ammunition and anti-drone systems.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported that Switzerland allocated 2.5 million francs to support milk production farms in the affected regions of Ukraine.

Military aid from the Czech Republic arrived in Ukraine before Independence Day.

A meeting of the UN Security Council was held, timed to mark the six-month anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The European Court of Human Rights obliged russia to ensure the rights of the captured defenders of Mariupol.

Head of the IAEA Raphael Grossi stated that the trip of the IAEA delegation to the Zaporizhzhia NPP may take place within the next few days.

On the Independence Day of Ukraine, the Scottish Guard orchestra performed the song Stefania by the Kalush Orchestra.

Turkish partners from the Baykar company gave Ukraine a gift for Independence Day– they “stitched” the “bairaktars” into the embroidery. These are the same “people’s bairaktars” for which the Serhiy Prytula Foundation raised funds, and the company decided to donate them. Soon “bayraktars” will be in Ukraine.
