It has been the 178th day of Ukraine’s resistance to the russian military invasion. 

Ukraine briefly:

Here is operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6pm: 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no signs of forming a strike group of troops of the armed forces of the republic of belarus and the russian federation on the border of our state.

There is a continuous threat of the enemy launching missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of the republic of belarus.

Towards Siversk, the enemy continues to hold separate units from the Western Military District in the borderline areas of Briansk and Kursk oblasts to deter actions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

In the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, the russian occupiers fired mortars at units of our troops. 

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied positions. They fired barreled and rocket artillery at Cherniaky, Karasivka, , Pechenihy, Pischane and Velyki Prokhody.

Near Prudianka and Verkhniy Saltiv, the enemy launched airstrikes. Aerial reconnaissance was conducted near Ruski Tyshky and Zolochiv.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy focuses its main efforts on resumption of offensive actions. The invaders fired the settlements of Asiivka, Chepil, Dovhenke, Husarivka, and Protopopivka from barreled and rocket artillery. An airstrike was launched near Zalyman.

The invaders fought offensive battles towards Brazhkivka – Novodmytrivka, Sulyhgivka – Novodmytrivka, Brazhkivka – Virnopillia and Dovhenke – Kurulka. Our military inflicted losses on the enemy and threw it back.

Towards Donetsk, the enemy continues offensive operations and focuses its main efforts on Bakhmut.

 Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy fired from barreled and rocket artillery near Kramatorsk, Rozdolivka, Spirne, Zvanivka and Raihorodka. An airstrike was launched near Ivano-Dariivka. 

The invaders tried to conduct an offensive in the directions Spirne – Ivano-Dariivka and Mykolaivka – Vyimka. They did not succeed.

Towards Bakhmut, there was shelling from tanks, barreled artillery and multiple launch rocket systems near Bakhmut, Bilohorivka, Kodema, Maiorsk and Vesela Dolyna. In addition, the enemy launched air strikes on some of the settlements.

By conducting offensive and assault actions, the invaders tried to gain a foothold towards Striapivka – Soledar, Pokrovske – Bakhmutske, Pokrovske – Bakhmut, Vershyna – Zaitseve, Vershyna – Kodema, Travneve – Zaitseve, Travneve – Kodema, Semihiria – Zaitseve, Hladosove – Kodema. They had no success and received a tough rebuff.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy fired tanks and artillery of various types near Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Krasnohorivka, Sukha Balka and Nevelske. He launched air strikes near Vodiane and Marinka. 

The enemy fought some unsuccessful offensive battles towards Horlivka – Maiorsk, Spartak – Opytne, Donetske – Pisky, Staromykhailivka – Pervomaiske.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy shelled the settlements of Pavlivka, Elizavetivka, Novoselka, Vuhledar and Novomykhailivka. There was an offensive battle in the direction of Blahodatne – Zolota Nyva. The enemy failed and withdrew.

Towards Zaporozhzhia, the enemy is trying to prevent the advance of units of the Defense Forces. The invaders fired tanks, barreled artillery and MLRS in the areas of Burlatske, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novopil, Olhivske, Shevchenko, Shevchenkivske, Shcherbaky, Stepove and Velykomykhailivka. Enemy aviation operated in Bilohiria, Mali Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka and Zhaliznychne.

Towards the South Buh, the enemy focuses its main efforts on keeping the occupied areas and deterring the actions of the Defense Forces. He is trying to gain a foothold towards Mykolaiv.

The enemy fired tanks and multi-caliber artillery near Mykolaiv, Oleksandrivka, Ukrainka and fifteen other settlements. An airstrike was struck near Olhyne. There was an offensive battle in the direction of Vasilka – Blahodatne.

Two enemy carriers of sea-based cruise Kalibr missiles are in combat readiness to launch strikes.


 

The European low-cost airline Wizz Air would cancel flights from moscow to Abu Dhabi indefinitely. This decision was the result of large-scale criticism of the company and calls on social networks for its boycott. However, in its statement, Wizz Air managers argued that their decision was “a constraint on the industry’s supply chain”.

Canadian intelligence said Russia had deployed its military equipment inside the perimeter of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, including the area near reactor vessels and other key infrastructure. It is also noted that Ukrainian workers of the ZNPP continue to be exploited under direct supervision of armed russian servicemen, this increasing the risk of the human factor due to stress or interference with the usual work schedule.


Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders failed in their attempted offensive near Borshchova village and an assault near Kurulka and Vernopillia near Izium. They continued shelling with barrel and rocket artillery, tanks and launched air strikes on settlements in Kharkiv oblast.

Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informed that two rockets hit an infrastructure object in Sloboda district. The building was damaged. Preliminary – no casualties.

Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, reported that enemy missiles struck critical infrastructure objects in Kharkiv suburbs and Nemyshlia district. There were no casualties. As a result of the shelling, there was a fire on the territory of the enterprise.

Overnight there were rocket attacks on infrastructure objects in Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts. The extent of the damage is being verified. Preliminarily, there were no casualties.

According to the Emergency Medical Center, 5 civilians were hospitalized with injuries.

Kharkiv City Council said that the death toll from russian shelling in a dormitory in the Saltiv district has risen to 18. The search operation will continue on August 20 and 21. It is unknown how many more people may be under the rubble.

Curfew time is changing in Kharkiv. From August 22, the curfew will last from 7 pm to 7 am the next day. During Independence Day, the curfew will last from 7 pm on August 23 to 7 am on August 25.

Donetsk oblast

Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said that 7 civilians of Donetsk oblast were killed as a result of the shelling: 4 in Bakhmut, 1 in Druzhba, 1 in Kostiantynivka and 1 in Pivnichne. Another 13 people were injured.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, reported that Kuindzhi Art Museum was completely looted by russian invaders.

As a result of the hostilities and shelling, residents of eight settlements in Avdiivka, Bakhmutand Marinka communities were cut off from the power supply. Currently, power engineers have restored power to more than 6,000 families in nine settlements of Donetsk oblast.

According to the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, representatives of the “Platsdarm” association and “Black Tulip” search party are working in Donetsk oblast at the locations of the recent shelling. Despite the danger due to shelling and many explosive objects, volunteers are looking for dead bodies.

Luhansk oblast

 Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that fighting continues near four settlements on the border of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts.

The enemy attempted to launch an offensive, trying to advance a few hundred meters, but our soldiers retaliated. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the past 24 hours repelled 7 attacks of the enemy on our front, not allowing a single breakthrough.

Russians attacked twice from the air and launched 5 rockets at settlements and our fortifications, engaging 4 times tank units in the battle. Enemy barrel and rocket artillery continue to fire. Only last night there were 12  strikes.

Based on the information provided by Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the invaders’ repair base with 100 heavy equipment and 50 russian personnel were destroyed.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

Mine clearance works continue in Kyiv oblast. From the beginning of the activities the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has already surveyed 20239.24 hectares of territory, checked 1260 objects, 1788 households, 1492.764 km of roads, 1323.277 km of power lines, and 11.443 km of gas pipelines. A total of 62,128 explosive objects were discovered and deactivated.

Heavy combat operations took place on the territory of 37 out of 69 communities in Kyiv oblast. According to the latest data from the Kyiv OVA, 26,000 properties were partially or completely destroyed, including about 4,700 private homes, 161 high-rise buildings, 211 educational institutions, more than 100 medical facilities, and 48 bridges. According to preliminary estimates, the damage amounts to tens of billions of dollars.

A charity bicycle rally took place in Kyiv with more than 500 rescuers, policemen, athletes, POW families and cycling enthusiasts. The event was initiated by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Bikeday Kyiv organization to support POW families and raise funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The cycling rally raised about 180 thousand hryvnias.

Valeria Yezhova, an 11-year-old world checkers champion, continues to raise money for our defenders by playing checkers with anyone who is interested. If they lose, participants must make a charitable donation to the AFU. So far, the young volunteer has not lost a single game and has collected 84 thousand UAH out of 100 thousand intended.

An exhibition of russian military equipment destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has opened in Kyiv. On Khreshchatyk street, everyone has a chance to see self-propelled artillery units, armored personnel carriers, BMPs, MLRS, and more. Instead of a parade in the center of Kyiv, as putin had dreamed, there are now tons of russian scrap metal there.

Zhytomyr oblast

The repair works of infrastructure damaged as a result of the hostilities continue in Zhytomyr oblast. In total, more than 2,800 damaged facilities have been recorded in the oblast, 213 of which have been completely destroyed. As of today, 459 facilities have been completely restored.

Safety training cources for civilians took place in a parking lot outside of a shopping mall in Zhytomyr. During these lessons, first responders taught local residents how to act in emergency situations, use weapons and provide first aid. They also explained what to do upon finding explosive objects.

A “Bike to Victory!” charity rally took place in Zhytomyr to celebrate the Independence Day and to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 150 participants took part in the event, covering a distance of 20 kilometers. Also, anyone could donate money to buy a vehicle for the military.

Sumy oblast

The enemy continues to fire the border of the oblast. The SBGS reported that Krasnopillia, Bilopillia and Shaligyne communities were held under enemy fire. The enemy inflicted fire with mortars, more than 40 explosions were recorded. The civilian infrastructure of Shaligine community were damaged due the shelling.

The OTG “Sumy” reported that a mine safety exercise among civilians were conducting in border regions with the russian federation. Ten communities of Sumy oblast conducted classes on the preservation of their own lives in the case of aviation or artillery strikes, as well as during the detection of mine-explosive devices.

The oblast confirmed 427 new cases of Covid-19. The incidence will increase, – predicts at the Sumy Regional Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It has increased in the territories of 21 communities of the oblast last week. One of the criteria that adversely affects the dynamics of morbidity is the migration of the population.

Sumy Academic Theater for Children and Youth began showing performances in a new safe room. The opening of the 48th theater season began from an interludo dedicated to Independence Day.

Chernihiv oblast

The army of the russian federation does not stop shelling of the territory of the oblast, threatened not only by Ukrainian defenders, but also by the civilian population of the oblast. This was reported by the head of the SBGS Sergey Deyneko, who visited Chernihiv oblast with a working trip. There are no changes in the aggressor’s actions, but border guards increase defense capabilities, build positions for shelter and constantly monitor the situation on the approaches to the border.

The All-Ukrainian Charity Bicycle Parade, dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine, was attended by military and employees of defense forces of Chernihiv oblast. According to the organizers, it was possible to raise almost 20K UAH, which will go for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the half-year downtime, the work of a linear accelerator was restored at the Chernihiv Center for Modern Oncology. Due a Russian projectile hit the oncocenter department in the first days of a full-scale invasion in Ukraine the building and equipment of a linear accelerator were damaged. According to the administration of the medical institution, despite the losses of three million hryvnias and logistics difficulties, the accelerator was repaired. The details were ordered from abroad at the expense of the medical institution. To date, the treatment center is free of charge, it is paid on the program of medical guarantees of the NHSU.

The Chernihiv aircraft athlete named “Skilovichok” repairs and manufactures drones for the Armed Forces. The 16 years old guy helps the army from the first day of a full-scale russian invasion. He has already assembled two drones and handed it over to the military. Now the guy is engaged in the development of his own devices – three times cheaper than might bought. He is also recieves drones for repair.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The occupiers continue to terrorize the residents of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The aggressor again shelled Nikopol with barrel artillery at night. 9 private residential buildings, more than half a dozen commercial buildings, power lines, and a solar power plant were damaged. No one was hurt.

Over the past month, the enemy has fired about 2,000 rounds of anti-aircraft missiles in the Nikopol district. More than 300 private residential buildings and more than 100 high-rise buildings were damaged or destroyed.

During the night, the occupiers hit the Marganets community twice – they fired from MRLS  “Grads” and barrel artillery. No victims.

At night, the russians fired at the village of Pershe Travnia in the Apostolivska TC  from the “Hurricanes”. As a result of enemy shelling, the gas pipeline was damaged. There were no casualties.

Ukrainian air defense shot down 4 Kalibr missiles that the russians aimed at Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The head of the regional military administration Valentyn Reznichenko reported that the debris of one of them fell in Pokrov, damaging 4 private residential buildings.

 According to the head of Dnipropetrovsk regional council Mykola Lukashuk, Dnipropetrovsk oblast is among the leaders among the regions of Ukraine in terms of harvesting rates. Despite difficult conditions – shelling and airstrikes  – the farmers of the region have already collected more than 2.2 million tons of grain, which is about 70% of the total number. 

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, the “Literaturna Toloka” book event organized by the “KUT” Cultural Association took place. Vinnytsia residents brought Russian-language literature for recycling. Also, the organizers asked to bring Ukrainian-language books, which will be given to Vinnytsia shelters for children and adults, as well as for the military.

Kirovohrad oblast

Since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, seamstresses from the city of Novomyrhorod, Novoukrainka district, have been sewing ammunition for compatriot defenders – balaclavas, knee pads, unloading vests, plate carriers, backpacks, trunks, etc. According to the sewing shop`s initiator Liubow Rud, it has  has been operating since March.

Poltava oblast

112 stories of lives interrupted by war. In Poltava, the exhibition “Angels of the City of Mary” was created to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers of the “Azov” regiment, who held the defense of Mariupol to the last. The photos were provided by relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers. These photos are planned to be shown in other cities of Ukraine.

The residents of Poltava collected the necessary UAH 115,000 to create a mural dedicated to the struggle of the Ukrainian people against Moscow’s expansion. The composition of the work will consist of two massifs – a complex ornamental structure and a trapped beast with an aggressive silhouette against the background of the night starry sky. Currently, workers are finalizing the preparation of the wall for painting.

Cherkasy oblast

“Shot vyshyvanka”  – such an embroidered shirt was created by the wives of the military together with craftsmen in the folk art gallery in Cherkasy. The fabric was combined with debris from the Grady rockets. A volunteer of the “Cherkasy Chaika” charitable foundation  Yuliia Baranko said that the shirt will be shown in the art museum and they will try to sell it at an auction. The funds will be transferred to the Ukrainian military.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not changed significantly. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions.

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Shevchenkivske, Komyshuvakha, Kamianske, Yurkivka, Novodarivka, Zalizanychne, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, and Huliaipole.

There were 29 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian forces.

The occupiers destroyed more than 20 residential buildings, they fired only at civilian infrastructure objects. As a result, residential private and multi-apartment buildings suffered significant destruction. Some apartments are not suitable for housing after direct rocket hits.

Consequences of ene,y shelling in Zaporizhzhia oblast

The US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Grenholm, called to end hostilities around the ZNPP and to return the plant to the Ukrainian authorities. According to her, there are sensors in the Zaporizhzhya NPP region monitored by scientists from the USA. At this time, it is important to ensure that there is continuous monitoring and that there are no signs of radiological contamination.

Energoatom announced that they will dismiss the employees of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant who took part in recording of russian propaganda videos. Individual employees of the station taking part in pro-russian video production will be fired next Monday for treason and collaboration.

At night, the russian military attacked residential quarters of the temporarily occupied Melitopol. One man was hospitalized, and about 10 houses were destroyed. The russians resorted to shelling civilian objects immediately after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the military base of the occupiers.

2 829 people, including 807 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine collected evidence of voluntary cooperation of 8 collaborators with the enemy in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia oblast. The vast majority of them received fake positions in the occupation “authority” in exchange for loyalty to the enemy.

At night, Mykolaiv was once again under massive missile fire. Most likely the enemy struck the city with S-300 missiles. There were no casualties so far. The information on damage is being clarified.

The enemy shelled the Pervomaisk community. Two people were injured.

Yesterday evening and this morning the enemy shelled the village of Shyroke. Three residential buildings were damaged.

Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Bereznehuvate community continues. The information on victims and damage is being clarified.

The russian Iskander missile hit a five-story building in Voznesensk. One floor was completely destroyed. This was announced by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim. There were nine wounded civilians. Among them are four children from 3 to 17 years old. All of them are in serious condition.

Representatives of the authorities of Mykolaiv and the region met with the Minister of International Development of Denmark, Flemming Meller Mortenson. According to the government official, Denmark has plans to help rebuild Mykolaiv oblast starting from September.

Odesa oblast

12 ships and boats of the enemy fleet are maneuvering along the Crimean coast, hiding from a possible defeat. There are 2 surface missile carriers equipped with 16 missiles and 2 large amphibious ships on combat duty in the sea.

Seven vessels arrived at the ports of Odesa oblast for loading agricultural products. Bulk carriers ANDAN TORLAK, FILYOZ and MARANTA docked in the port of Chornomorsk. In Odesa port GANOSAYA and KUBROSLI Y. have started loading. Bulk carriers MOHAMAD Y and FOYLE are waiting for their turn. About 66.5K tons of wheat, corn and oil will go to ports in France, Sudan, Turkey and the Netherlands.

One of Berlin’s squares in the Lichtenberg district will be named in honor of Odesa – “Odesa-Platz”. In this way, the Germans express their support for Ukraine.

Kherson oblast

During the day, the enemy tried to conduct an assault towards Blahodatne – Partyzanske with two airborne assault detachments with the support of tanks, armored vehicles and artillery. In the evening, the enemy tried to advance towards Tavriiske. Had no success, retreated.

The occupiers used usual tactics of air strikes with attack aircraft and helicopters on positions along the contact line without our losses.

Ukrainian aviation launched 11 strikes on enemy positions in the areas of Oleksandrivka, Blahodatne, Velikopillia, Novopetrivka, Kostromka, Bilohirka, and Bruskinske. The confirmed losses of the enemy are: 17 occupiers, the “Zoopark 1” reconnaissance and fire control radar complex, 4 units of automobile and armored vehicles. The final losses of the enemy are being clarified.

The occupiers are pressuring entrepreneurs with the demand to “reissue documents in the new tax office in Kherson oblast. Those who refuse are threatened by taking away or closing the business.

Kherson occupation authorities threaten to fine parents by 148K rubles for refusing to send their children to “new” schools. According to Kherson RMA, such measures are called preventive measures.

Russian soldiers kidnapped a local resident, Mykola Gerus, at a checkpoint near the Kakhovska HPP,  when he was trying to evacuate to the territory controlled by Ukraine. The man’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

About a hundred residents of the region contact the “hotline” of the Kherson Regional Military Administration every day. About 300 messages are received via messengers from residents who remain in the occupation and cannot call. This was reported by Kherson RMA.

Police officers delivered humanitarian aid to the residents of the front-line villages of Natalyne and Novobratske in Kochubeiivka community. People received hygiene products, which have not been delivered for a long time due to military operations and the danger of shelling.

On September 1, 6 educational institutions will start their work remotely in Skadovsk community.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed about the suspicion of a citizen of Ukraine in collaborative activities. According to the investigation, at the end of June 2022, a resident of the city of Nova Kakhovka agreed to head a pseudo-organization – “the education department of the military-civilian administration of Kakhovka district.” Also, the man is actively agitating the educators who remained in the city to cooperate with the occupiers.

Western regions

Volyn oblast

The charity bike ride “FIREVELODRIVE – bringing the victory of Ukraine closer” took place in Lutsk. The 35-kilometer bike ride in support of the Armed Forces united more than 130 participants – rescuers, military personnel, policemen, volunteers and all those who wanted to join in. Its participants covered the route from Lutsk to Zviriv hunting farm and back.

Volyn Regional State Administration reported that a meeting was held between representatives of the UN humanitarian hub and charitable organizations on the assistance for the internally displaced persons in the region. 

In Smidyn, a social workshop opened in the premises of the dispensary, the local territorial community reported. As part of the initiative, fabric for bed linen was purchased. Some of the displaced people have already received their bed linen made by the IDPs in Smidyn.

Zakarpattia oblast

The student safety is being established in educational institutions of Zakarpattia The readiness of schools and kindergartens must be assessed by a special commission of civil protection specialists, rescuers and the local education department. Educational institutions of the region must receive permission to conduct training by 29th of August.

Preparations to prevent and respond to radiation accidents are being made in Zakarpattia. In Uzhhorod, a command and staff training with management bodies of the territorial subsystem of the civil defence of the region, forces and means of military formations was held. This was reported to the State Emergency Service. The participants worked out the procedure for engaging forces and means to perform tasks and improved the interaction of forces during a radiation threat. The quality of information exchange between interacting forces was also worked out.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Ivano-Frankivsk State Administration reported that the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the russian special services in an attempt to recruit a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk.

The work of the mobile teams continues, Svitlana Onyshchuk, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, reported. This week, leading specialists helped solve issues of internally displaced people living in Solotvynsk, Ugrynivsk, Yamnytsk and Bogorodchansk territorial communities.

Prykarpattya rescuers initiated the “Fireway – together to victory” charity bike ride in Ivano-Frankivsk in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The participants handed over a certificate in the amount of 226 519  hryvnia to Irina Marko, a volunteer and representative of the NGO “Banderivsky Shron” to purchase of the most necessary items for our soldiers.

Lviv oblast

The press service of the Lviv State Regional Government reported that consultative and coordination centers for internally displaced persons began to work in all districts of Lviv oblast. These centers will provide psychological and legal assistance, as well as communicate about grants and other services in communities.

Lviv Regional State Administration reported that soldiers of the 45th separate artillery brigade shared information about the combat work of the 87th anti-tank division. Working with the modern “Stugna” and “Javelin”, as well as with the old “Rapira” complex, the division eliminated dozens of tanks, armored vehicles and other equipment of the russian invaders.

The opening of the “Prayer for Ukraine” exhibition, where the winners of the children’s drawings competition were awarded, was held in Lviv. This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi. The exhibition was opened as part of the International Forum of Children’s Creativity “Golden Easel” at the Andrei Sheptytskyi National Museum. The pictures were created by students of the Summer Children’s Art School for children from among IDPs who are participants of the Peace Relay. Within the framework of the art school, the leading artists of the Lviv region taught them various drawing techniques.

BF “Aurea Polonia” handed over a hundred first-aid kits and backpacks with equipment for paramedics to Lviv oblast.

Rivne oblast

In the Rivne region, police stations were opened in six communities. They worked in Mizotska, Rafalivska, Kanonytska, Antonivska, Derazhnska and Sosnivska territorial communities. This was reported by the regional police.

The head of the Rivne Regional State Administration Vitaliy Koval said that librarians-volunteers from Ostroh have created a charity online store to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They sell handmade jewellery, accessories, charms, and souvenirs. They also sew toys, draw,  knit items, and make necklaces. Craftsmen from other regions also join the initiative.

A charity all-Ukrainian bicycle race took place in Rivne. Almost three hundred participants joined the event dedicated to Independence Day. The funds that were collected during the event will be donated to the “Return Alive” charity.

Residents of Sosnivsk community of Dubenshchyna actively volunteer. As reported in Rivne RMA, only this month they sent 26 nets to the military. This is more than 300 square meters of camouflage coating.

Residents of the Babinsk community are preparing borsch for defenders of Ukraine. In the Rivne district state administration, they say that people were bringing products during three days. There are already 200 liters of ready-made fuel that will go to Ukrainian soldiers at the front.

Rivne RMA reported that Pravo na Zahyst BF, together with the Czech international organization “Man in Need” and social protection authorities, continue to register displaced people for support. Financial assistance will amount to 2 220 hryvnias.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil oblast, a bicycle race of rescuers and representatives of law enforcement agencies took place before Independence Day in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast is presenting a new flip calendar of the “Litopys UPA” publishing house for 2023, the Ternopil Military Administration reported. The publication is timed to the Independence Day of Ukraine. The presentation is held by the Museum of National Liberation Struggle of Ternopil region.

 Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi region, preparations for the start of the new school year are underway. Khmelnytskyi RMA reported that the shelters will be installed in approximately 60% of educational institutions. According to the Department of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, repeated inspections of educational institutions in 23 communities will be conducted until August 26.

Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that “Educational hub. “Children” and the Khmelnytskyi Regional Society of the Red Cross of Ukraine will provide opportunities for communication and conduct master classes for internally displaced and local children aged 6-14  every Sunday and Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

Building materials from the 16th century to the first half of the 20th century were presented at the exhibition of old bricks and tiles called “Where the brick “speaks”” in the Horodotskyi Museum of Local History in Khmelnytskyi.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi, benefactors handed over a NISSAN car purchased using the funds collected at the “Builders of Peace” charity event for the Chernivtsi City Territorial Center for Equipment and Social Support. Yana Brus, organizer of the “Builders of Peace” charity event, informed about this.

On August 21, a charitable patriotic event “Banderodron for the Armed Forces ” will be held in Chernivtsi. They hope to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and business representatives. There will be a fair, a concert, a tournament, Cossack cuisine. The event takes place on the initiative of the NGO “Soul’s scream” of the mothers and the wives of the military.

According to the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council, master classes are held by extracurricular educational institutions of the Chernivtsi community every weekend. Children, particularly the IDPs, have the opportunity to try to construct, draw or create something. Here you can also see an exhibition of student works. After-school educational establishments of technical direction work on Saturday, and artistic and aesthetic ones work on Sunday.

In Chernivtsi, students make smoke grenades for the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They are used to create a curtain on the battlefield, so that  the military can mask their positions. The technology  was developed by student Pavlo Garadzhii.

International support

The International court reports that the EU joined the case of Ukraine against russia on genocide in the UN International court. 

The press relations service of the German government informs that Germany will deliver 20 rocket buggies for Hydra rockets with the APKWS guidance system, as well as other weapons by updating a list of weapons to be sent or planned to be sent to Ukraine 

The US acknowledged for the first time they’d sent HARM radar shielding systems. The Pentagon representative informed at the briefing for American journalists that Ukraine upgraded its MiG fighter jets to use these systems.  

The US announced a new package of military equipment and weapons to Ukraine worth 775 million dollars. It includes different rockets, drones, artillery systems and mine neutralization systems. 

Politico shared the news that the US also plans to send to Ukraine Excalibur guided systems. They are used for 155 millimetre artillery systems.

The National Defense Minister of Lithuania, Arvidas Anushauskas, informed on Twitter that Lithuania provided Ukraine with the 28th military aid package and plans to send two more.  

The NATO press secretary office notified that the NATO general secretary Yens Stoltenberg will visit Canada. He plans to discuss the war in Ukraine with Justin Trudeau among other things. 

The Turkish Minister of Defense Khulusi Akar stated that the Ukrainian “grain deal” lays the foundation for the permanent peace. 

The UN general secretary Antonio Guterresh emphasized the importance of grain export since it will help tackle the food crisis facing the world. 

The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was outraged by the russian permanent representative at international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov’s call to “show no mercy to Ukrainians” and invited him to the office. The Ministry shared their opinion on Twitter and stated that they were outraged and shocked by the “man hateful statements of the russian rep and his attempts to inter-relate something which is irrelevant ”.
