Here is operational information on the Russian invasion as of 6pm:

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation is without significant changes.

According to available information, belarus continues to supply ammunition to the russian occupation forces. The threat of missile strikes from the territory of the northern neighbour remains.

Towards Siversk, the enemy won’t stop shelling positions of our troops from the territory of the russian federation and conducting aerial reconnaissance in the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts.

Towards Sloboda region, the enemy continues to conduct hostilities. There are measures taken to  make up for the losses of personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy fired tanks, barrels and rocket artillery at the settlements of Chepil, Cherkasy Tyshky, Chuhuiv, Dementiivka, Husarivka, Kharkiv, Petrivka, Protopopivka, Pytomnyk, Rtyshchivka, Stary Saltiv, Skrypai, Sosnivka, Svitlychne and Tsyrkuny. There was an air strike near Verkhniy Saltov.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy fired barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of Adamivka, Dibrovne, Dolyna, Hrushuvakha, Khrestyshche, Kurulka, Krasnopillia, Mazanivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, and Vasylivka Persha. An airstrike was launched near Dibrovne.

Towards Donetsk, the enemy focuses on conducting an offensive towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka. By persistent firing, the enemy is trying to thwart the actions of our troops.

Towards Kramatorsk, shelling was recorded near Donetske, Siversk, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, and Zvanivka. The enemy launched an airstrike near Serebrianka and tried to attack Novoluhanske – Ivano-Darivka, yet was retaliated and withdrew.

Towards Bakhmut, artillery shelling was recorded in proximity of Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Zaitseve, Pokrovske, Vesele, Kurdiumivka and Zalizne. The enemy launched airstrikes near Bakhmut, Kodema, Pokrovske, Soledar, and Yakovlivka,.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy shelled areas of Avdiivka, Netailove and Niu York. Airstrikes near were launched at Avdiivka and Novobakhmutivka. The invaders conducted assault operations near Mineralne – Avdiivka, had no success, withdrew. Towards Donetsk – Pisky, the enemy has partial success.

Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, shelling was recorded near Chervone, Kamianske, Novoandriivka, Novomykhaylivka, Marinka, Pavlivka,  Poltavka, and Zaleznychne,.

Towards the South Buh, the enemy focuses on keeping the occupied positions and preventing the offensive of AFU units. He fired tanks, barreled artillery and multiple launch rocket systems at the settlements of Andriivka, Bila Krynytsia,  Blahodatne, Ivanovka, Mykolaiv, Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Olenivka, Pryshyb, Tokareve, Trudoliubivka, Vesely Kut, Zoria, and Yavkine.

The enemy continues to suffer losses in manpower and equipment. Among the russian occupiers, alcohol abuse is escalating, which results in interethnic conflicts.


In a conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the need to obtain more heavy weapons from Allies to repel Russian attacks and conduct counterattacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine. In addition, Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of receiving non-lethal military assistance from the Alliance as soon as possible within a comprehensive package approved at the NATO Madrid Summit. 

 As of August 1, the volume of direct losses of the Ukrainian economy from damage and destruction of residential and non-residential buildings and infrastructure makes $ 108.3 billion or UAH 2.9 trillion. This is evidenced by a study by the KSE Institute in cooperation with government agencies. Direct losses due to destruction of high-rise buildings reach $42.3 billion, another $5.4 billion in damages caused to owners of private homes. The infrastructure sector lost $31.6 billion. As a result of combat actions, losses to the country’s industry are estimated at $8.8 billion.


Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

It was quiet in Kharkiv, no enemy strikes were recorded. In Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kharkiv districts, civilian infrastructure was damaged by shelling. According to the regional Centre of Emergency Medical Care, there were no calls about casualties as a result of enemy shelling.

The invaders shelled Chuhuiv. Russians hit residential and infrastructure buildings, there were no casualties.

Tsyrkuny village, Kharkiv district, was shelled and as a result, a residential building was damaged. Cherkasky Tyshky was shelled several times and there were strikes on open areas. The invaders destroyed a hotel and restaurant complex, damaged outbuildings and coniferous plantations.

In Bohodukhiv district, a farmhouse was damaged by shelling and rescuers extinguished a fire.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian troops’ assaults in several directions – Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka. Hostilities continue near Bakhmut and Pisky.

Accoring to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, as a result of Russian shelling, three Donetsk oblast residents were killed during the day. Another 16 people were injured.

According to ISW analytical report, it was Russian troops who were responsible for the attack on Olenivka penal colony on 28 July, which killed 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war.

According to Minister of Reintegration of temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, mandatory evacuation from Donetsk oblast to Kirovohrad oblast started. The first train to Kropyvnytskyy arrived in the morning.

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the enemy shelled Mykolaivka, which resulted in a fire at a special comprehensive boarding school. Specialists continue to search and rescue work at the destruction scene to remove the rubble. A man’s body was removed.

Mariupol city council reports that the invaders are going to hold a rock concert at the Azovstal plant, although there are still hundreds of dead bodies under the rubble, no water supply and no heating in the city. This way they are trying to distract residents from their existing problems.

Luhansk oblast

According to the head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Hayday, Luhansk oblast is still holding its defence around two settlements. Over 300,000 people were evacuated from the region and IDP aid hubs are opening in every region of the country.

According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast in Khrustalne, the enemy is trying to cover up casualties after the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a rocket attack on the Krasnyy Luch hotel where the invaders were staying. The agency added that most of the injured were sent to a military hospital in Rostov-on-Don by civilian vehicles.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

Polish Foreign Minister and current OSCE chairman Zbigniew Rau arrived in Kyiv oblast. The official visited Bucha, where he laid flowers at a memorial site of a mass grave and inspected a modular settlement given by Poland for people who lost their homes due to the hostilities.

The town of Irpin and Miami, USA, will become twin cities. Soon an agreement on twinning and cooperation will be signed with Miami mayor Francis Suarez. Also the sister-city will hand over 167 firearms to Irpin within the program “Guns 4 Ukraine”, organized by the Commissioner of Miami Police Ken Russell. The weapons will be given to police and territorial defense units of Irpin.

The Irpin Central City Hospital received another ambulance and two ultrasound machines from Germany. This was made possible thanks to the hospital’s physician Olha Tatoyan and with the help of German and Ukrainian volunteers.

In Kyiv oblast, 102 medical facilities suffered damage from missile and bomb attacks by the russian army. As of today, 18 such facilities have been repaired in the Brovary, Bucha, Vyshhorod, and Fastiv regions. Restoration is also underway in 11 damaged residential buildings and numerous social infrastructure facilities of the capital.

100 children from Kyiv oblast returned from rehabilitation and vacation in Precarpathian region. These are children who were affected by the russian military aggression, lost their parents, are children of defenders of Ukraine or internally displaced persons. On August 1, another 50 children from Bila Tserkva and Obukhiv regions went on vacation and rehabilitation.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Collective Center of St. Basil the Great for Internally Displaced Persons was opened in Zhytomyr at the initiative of the Caritas-Ukraine Foundation. The center has sleeping and cooking areas, space for children, bathrooms, washers and dryers. Internally displaced persons will be able to live there for 30 days, receive financial assistance, psychological support and legal advice.

As part of the FAST RECOVERY program aimed at quick infrastructure restoration, agreements have been reached and construction work has begun on a new kindergarten in Ovruch, Zhytomyr oblast. The project is funded by the Estonian government. 

About 30 educational institutions in Zhytomyr will be able to hold classes offline in the upcoming academic year. These are schools that have shelters or are located close to them. Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn said that some of the schools will be working remotely, but the premises of these could be given to accomodate internally displaced people.

Zlata Ognevich, Arsen Mirzoyan together with guitarist Oleksandr Lozovskyi and Pan Karpo band held a concert for border guards to raise their morale. The musicians visited the defenders of the northern border in Zhytomyr oblast and performed live Ukrainian folk hits.

An exhibition called “333” opened in Zhytomyr. The authors of the exhibition, Pavlo and Iryna from the art duo “They are Together”, presented 33 works that depict the war in Ukraine through female characters. The aim of the exhibition is to raise funds for the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded military personnel.

Sumy oblast

The SBGS reports that the enemy continues to attack the border communities of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. During the day, the russian army shelled the territory of Esman, Seredina-Buda, Bilopillia, Khotyn, and Yunakivka communities with barrel artillery and mortars.

Preventive measures during an air alert have been implemented in the Sumy oblast. The order to this effect was signed by the head of the regional military administration, Dmytro Zhivytskyi. We are talking about measures to ensure civil protection in the territory of shopping and entertainment complexes, markets and other places of crowding.

The police of Sumy oblast visited Bilopillia district in order to document russian war crimes. Buildings in the private sector, farm buildings of local residents, private transport, roads, and crops were damaged by russian shelling. According to the facts of shelling of civil settlements, criminal proceedings have been opened for violation of the laws and customs of war.

The Sumy RMA reported that high-quality and functional clothing was handed over to the 117th brigade of territorial defence. Caps, t-shirts, and long-sleeved shirts were purchased from local manufacturers with funds from the regional budget.

The connection between the northern and southern districts of the Sumy oblast has been restored. This was reported in the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Road workers repaired the 12-meter bridge over the canal near the village of Shevchenkove, which was damaged due the invasion of russian troops. The ministry notes that this will improve the delivery of aid and goods to the residents of Sumy oblast,.

The community of the village of Grebenykivka in the Okhtyrka district initiated the transition from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reports that the enemy does not stop shelling the border areas of the Chernihiv oblast. The enemy opened fire twice from SPH on the territory of the Novgorod-Siverskyi community. 7 explosions were recorded.

More than 85% of educational institutions were examined for the presence of shelters in the oblast. According to the information of the Chernihiv military administration, the inspection of shelters, which are within the permissible distance from educational institutions, is ongoing. RMA emphasizes that face-to-face training will take place only in those institutions where all safety standards are fully observed.

The Regional Development Agency presented awards to volunteers of the Chernihiv oblast from the regional military administration. The volunteer movement in Chernihiv has been actively involved in the work since the first days of the war and daily helps the military, soldiers of the territory defense and local residents who need it.

Transportation was restored at 16 locations where road traffic was lost due to hostilities. This was reported by the Highway Service of the Chernihiv oblast. All work was carried out with the permission of the military, after surveying the territory for the presence of explosive objects and demining. It will be recalled that due the hostilities on the territory of Chernihiv oblast, 680 km of roads and 25 bridges were damaged.

The district military administration reports that a modular town has been established in the village of Novy Bykiv in the Nizhyn district. The territorial community plans to house 22 families. In the near future, communications and furniture will be installed to each module. Poland acted as a sponsor and supplier of residential blocks.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night, the occupiers targeted the Pokrovsky community in the Synelniky district. There is damage to a residential building, a shop, and five cars. In the Kryvyi Rih district, the border territories of the Zelenodolsk and Shyrokiv communities were shelled,  and the power grid was damaged as a result. No victims. This was announced by the head of the city council Mykola Lukashuk.

The rescuers surveyed the territory of the Pokrovsk community, which the day before was fired at by the Russian troops from the Smerch anti-aircraft missile system. In one of the villages, three residential buildings, six cars, and the building of one of the district unions were damaged. In the yards of the residents, funnels and debris from rocket shells were found. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

In almost three weeks, russian troops fired more than a thousand rockets at Nikopol region.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, the conditions for leasing state property were simplified and benefits were introduced for relocated enterprises. More than 60 state-owned objects are being prepared for lease.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded orders “For Courage” III degree to four rescuers from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. One of them, Yaroslav Miroshnyk, got awarded  posthumously.

Dnipropetrovsk regional children’s hospital received an incubator for raising newborns. The equipment was transferred to the medical facility within the framework of Olena Zelenska’s project and with the support of the Ministry of Health. This was announced by the head of the city council Mykola Lukashuk.

In Dnipro, a team of volunteer lawyers helps victims of russian aggression to file complaints with the European Court of Human Rights. All of them will be considered by the court until September 16, 2022, so lawyers urge residents not to delay. Complaints can be filed by those suffering torture, whose property was damaged or destroyed, whose relatives died or went missing, etc.

Vinnytsia oblast

Pavlo Kovalchuk, a pediatric neurologist at the Neuromed clinic, a victim of a rocket attack on Vinnytsia on July 14, died because of the numerous burns.

The city council reported that more than 500 jobs have already been created in Vinnytsia at the relocated enterprises.

Socially vulnerable residents receive food packages. 6000 packages with basic food products such as cereals, oil, sugar, butter, canned food, etc. were distributed.   

To collect funds for the Armed Forces, six children created a checkpoint “Banderivtsi” in the old city of Vinnytsia. The auto barrier was made from sticks and tires. The flag was flying. Kids were armed with water guns. There were four boys and two girls in a team. They collected 5 200 UAH in a week.

In Vinnytsia, a number of master classes and a charity fair were organized for fifty children within the framework of the “Path of the Unconquered” charity project. The souvenirs they made will be handled over to the military men in the East.

Kirovohrad oblast

An evacuation train from Pokrovsk arrived at Kropyvnytskyi, transporting residents of the Donetsk region. “There are bedfast people, two have been hospitalized,” said Oleh Rybalchenko, head of the health care department of Kirovohrad RMA.

Poltava oblast

The belarusian KGB is holding a resident of Poltava oblast in the Gomel pre-trial detention center. The businessman is suspected of espionage. The lawyer from Poltava wants to draw the attention of authorities and society to the situation of his client, detained in the pre-trial detention center in Gomel and cannot receive qualified legal assistance.

On the territory of the region, preventive measures to control illegal circulation of weapons are ongoing. Control at checkpoints has been strengthened and the number of mobile police teams on the streets of residential areas has been intensified. 

Cherkasy oblast

40% of shelters of educational institutions of the region have already been prepared. The rest are being prepared for the academic year.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction has not changed significantly.  The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding occupied positions. 

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Orikhiv and Novodarivka.

The enemy targeted a kindergarten in Stepnohirsk. This is the second time the kindergarten has been shelled by the enemy.

Police received 16 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian occupation forces.

The bypass dirt road in the village of Kamianske washed away due to sharp deterioration of weather conditions. Drivers were trapped without any possibility to overcome this section of the road. Rescuers managed to tow 50 trucks and escort more than 200 passenger cars to the hard road surface. The rescue operation lasted almost 12 hours.

1 081 people, including 265 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. 

Mykolaiv oblast

During the night, the enemy launched two missiles and two air strikes on Mykolaiv oblast. It was reported by the South Operational Command. The S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and the “Hurricane” multiple-launch rocket systems fired at two districts of Mykolaiv. The dormitory of one of the universities was damaged. A security guard was in the room and was injured. Residential buildings were also damaged, and a fire broke out in a grocery store.

An Kh-59 missile attack was launched on Mykolaiv district using aircraft from  Sevastopol direction. A field between populated areas was hit. There are no casualties.

Tonight Galytsyn and Bashtanka communities were shelled. As a result the infrastructure facilities were damaged in Galytsyn village. There was the power outage in Yavkin. 

Ukrainian defenders destroyed four enemy X-type cruise missiles (X-101, X-555) over the Mykolaiv oblast. This is reported by the South Air Command. The cruise missiles were launched from the russian Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers from the northern part of the Caspian Sea.

Trolleybuses damaged by shelling on July 14 were released onto the line in Mykolaiv. In total, 16 new Dnipro trolleybuses were damaged, 13 of them were repaired.

Counter-intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an adjuster who was directing enemy missiles at infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv. As a result of his actions, several military and civilian buildings were destroyed. The perpetrator faces imprisonment for up to twelve years.

Odesa oblast

2 russian missile ships with 16 Calibers and 3 large amphibious ships continue their combat duty in the Black Sea. A group of 12 warships and boats is maneuvering near the Crimean coast in the direction of Novorossiysk. Part of the fleet takes shelter in the base points due to the stormy weather, and there is a high threat of mine disruption and drifting to the coast in the sea.

A resident of Odesa is suspected of treason because he joined the army of the so-called “DPR” in 2014 and fought against Ukrainians. This was reported by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office. According to the investigators, the man took part in hostilities and occupation on the territory of settlements in the Donetsk region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia. He was captured during the battle and is in custody.

Kherson oblast

The russian military shot a civilian minibus with an anti-tank missile complex near Dolgove. Three people were killed, five hospitalised in Kryvyi Rih in serious condition.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units destroyed 12 russian soldiers and a self-propelled howitzer “Gvozdika”. The final losses of the enemy are being investigated.

Our units suppressed three enemy attempts to carry out combat reconnaissance in the areas of Bilohirka and Trudolyubivka during the combat day. The enemy had no success, and retreated with losses.

The enemy fired 15 rockets from the “Grad” multiple rocket launcher from the Khreshchenivka area in the direction of Novovorontsovka There were no casualties, buildings were destroyed.

Three times the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions with helicopters in Beryslav and Kakhovka districts of Kherson oblast. There are no losses.

Ukrainian aviation launched three strikes at the enemy’s strongpoints in the areas of Oleksandrivka and Maksymivka.

In total, Ukrainian units during the combat day eliminated 32 occupiers, destroyed self-propelled howitzer “Msta-S”, anti-aircraft missile complex “TOR” and 4 more units of armored vehicles.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already liberated 53 settlements in Kherson oblast. This was reported by Kherson RMA. Most of the de-occupied villages and towns are located in the north of Kherson oblast and border Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The entire de-occupied territory is subject to constant shelling by the russian military. Residential buildings, infrastructure facilities, schools are being destroyed.

A deputy of the Kherson Regional Council was informed of suspicion of collaborative activity. The investigation established that the head of the faction of the banned party “Opposition Platform – For Life” in the Kherson Regional Council organized political events in support of the aggressor state and its occupation administration.

On August 2, at a meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the appointment of Yaroslav Yanushevych as the head of the Kherson regional state administration.

Western regions

Volyn

In Lutsk, Technopark “Center of Medical Innovations” launched the production of soft medical splints for fixing limbs in case of fracture.

In Rozhyshche, children organized fairs to raise funds for weapons that will help Ukrainian defenders shoot down enemy drones. In just 19 days, little volunteers collected over UAH 185K.

No less than 1 400 trucks and buses are recorded in queues at the Yagodin checkpoint. To solve the situation with the passing of cars, Volyn Customs is negotiating with the Polish side on synchronous interaction.

The police of Ratniv region received humanitarian aid – food products for long-term storage.

With the assistance of CF “Posmishka YA” social project “A space friendly for children and youth” is being implemented in Novovolynsk. A team of specially trained facilitators and psychologists conducts creative master classes, psychological games and sport activities so that children feel calm and safe, despite the war.

133K was collected for the Armed Forces at the events dedicated to celebration of the Day of the City of Volodymyr.

Zakarpattia oblast

In the regional administration together with the head of the project department of the Diocese of the UGCC Fr. Ivan Kupar discussed the arrangement of new premises for IDPs. About 300 forced displaced found shelter in the shelters of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese.

The RMA announced cyber security training for Zakarpattia educators.

In Uzhhorod, with the support of the Dutch community, a holiday for children was held on the occasion of Statehood Day.

Uzhhorod musicians won the grand prize at the international competition “Alley of Stars of Ukraine”.

The charity exhibition “Not Those Who Were Attacked” opened in Mukachevo. All funds for will be transferred to support the Armed Forces.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The regional defense council reported that in Prykarpattya, all establishments must close during air raid sirens.

Graduates of the Department of Military Training at the Prykarpattya National University solemnly took the Military Oath of loyalty to the people of Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

201 people arrived in Lviv from the places of war by two evacuation trains. 812 people went to Przemyśl from Lviv Oblast by four trains.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy met with Krakow City Council member Lukasz Vantuch and volunteers from Great Britain Simon and Holly Bellingham-Turner. At the meeting, they discussed the possibility of building a National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv for Ukrainians who suffered from the actions of the russian invaders.

In Lviv, it is planned to create consultative and coordination centers in all districts of the oblast  to unite the efforts of volunteer organizations, foundations and local authorities.

In Lviv oblast, the amount of aid to families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred will be increased.

Andriy from Lviv oblast and Mykola from Yavoriv District will take part in the United Ukraine Fellowship international bicycle project in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its participants will travel 2 500 km through 15 European cities. The goal is to raise funds for 15 ambulances for the front, which will help save lives of Ukrainians.

In Lviv, the wing of the russian drone shot down in Donbas was exchanged for “Starlinks” for the Armed Forces.

The families of Dr. Jürgen Herr and Dr. Rüdiger Herr from the city of Rothenburg in Germany donated to Drohobychka a comprehensive mobile medical clinic, consisting of ventilators, surgical, dental and gynecological equipment, ultrasound machines, cardiographs, etc.

Over the course of three days, employees of the City Department of the Children’s Service took part in the “Protection of Children in Emergency Situations” training. The event was organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for non-governmental organizations and representatives of authorities working with children.

175 people who lost their homes due to the war will soon be provided with housing in Stryya. Additional accommodation will be arranged in the dormitory of the Higher Vocational School.

A charity concert-fair was held in Hryad, where over UAH 62K were collected for Ukrainian defenders.

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast receives several million euros for the preparation of resettlement settlements for the winter period. The RMA reports that this was agreed upon during a personal meeting in Rivne by the head of the military administration and representatives of the Red Cross Society. The final amount of assistance has not yet been announced.

Rivne RMA developed an algorithm for holding mass events during martial law in the oblast.

The Varas community sent mobile chargers, generators, battery lights, batteries and other necessary equipment to the military.

Kozynsk and Krupetsk territorial communities jointly purchased a night vision device for the military. The cost of the device is UAH 47 800.

As part of the project “Librarians of Ukraine and Germany – together with Victory”, the libraries of Rivne oblast will soon receive new computer equipment from Germany.

Rivne musician and artist Yurko Zhuravel, leader of the band “OT VINTA” painted a person killed in Mykolaiv from a russian rocket general director of the agricultural company “Nibulon”, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Watadurskyi. The drawing was made for publication of the illustrated chronology of the war – the book “STORYTSYA”.

Ternopil oblast

Modern shelters are being set up in Ternopil. There are currently 92 protective structures in the city. Rescue workers emphasize that every high-rise building in Ternopil should arrange in its basement a temporary, simplest storage, equipped with places to sit and supplies of drinking water.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The mayor Oleksandr Simchyshyn and the mayor of the Švenčion district (Republic of Lithuania) Rimantas Klipčius signed a diplomatic document on cooperation.

In Khmelnytskyi, there is the only headquarters in Ukraine for helping deaf victims of the war.

Chernivtsi oblast

The head of the Education Department of the Chernivtsi City Council, Iryna Tkachuk, reports that in Chernivtsi, due to the lack of shelters, 15 children’s preschools out of 55 kindergartens will not work at the moment. Another six institutions will work part-time. 

International support

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the EU fully remitted to Ukraine the first tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of €1 billion.

Germany will strengthen assistance to Ukraine in demining, investigation of war and cyber crimes. This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denys Monastyrskyi, with Nancy Feser, Federal Minister of Internal Affairs and Integrated Territorial Development of Germany, who was on an official visit to Ukraine.

The member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party of the US, Elissa Slotkin, stated that Ukraine will receive ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km.

The White House announced that the US is going to approve a new package of aid to Ukraine worth 550 million dollars in the field of defense.

France froze 1.2 billion euros of russian assets.

Belgium froze over €50.5 billion of russian assets. These funds belong to 1 129 individuals and 110 companies from the russian federation.

The UK expanded sanctions against russia by adding two ex-managers of Rosneft.

The international tea company Ekaterra is leaving the russian market.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the current Chairman of the OSCE Zbigniew Rau visited Ukraine.

European Commissioner Minister of Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson visited Kyiv.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative Office in Ukraine and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska signed a Memorandum of Understanding. One of the goals of the Memorandum is to join efforts so that children and young people experience harmful effects of war as little as possible.

The United Ukraine Fellowship international cycling project in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been launched. The slogan of the bicycle project is: “Those who struggle deserve support!”. It aims at raising funds for 15 ambulances for the front, which will help save the lives of Ukrainians.

The exhibition “Warsaw-Mariupol: Cities of Ruins, Cities of Struggle, Cities of Hope” is being held in Poland. The exposition consists of 16 pairs of pictures. Each pair of photos are parallels between the events that took place in Warsaw during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, and in Mariupol and the towns of Kyiv Oblast from the beginning of the russian occupation in 2022.

The Finnish youth movement Kokoumusnuoret demands that the government ban the issuance of visas to russians. Before introduction of such a ban, they pledge to post reminders about the war in Ukraine on the border boards with russia.
