Ukraine briefly:

It has been the 175th  day of Ukraine’s resistance to the russian military invasion. 

Here is operational information as of 6pm:

Towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversk, the situation has not changed significantly. Towards Siversk, the enemy is enhancing its positions with fortification equipment. There was artillery shelling near Chernivske, Pavlivka and Hudove in Sumy oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy shelled Dementiivka, Kharkiv, Korobochkine, Lebiazhe, Nove, Nova Mykolaivka, Odnorobivka, Pechenehi, Rubizhne, Ruski Tyshky, Svitlychne and Sosnivka, firing from tanks, barreled and rocket artillery. 

The enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops towards Lebiazhe and Bazaliivka, but failed and withdrew.

Towards Sloviansk, enemy units tried to defeat our units and destroy civilian infrastructure in Brazhkivka, Dibrovne, Dolyna, Dovhenke and Mazanivka using barreled artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. 

The enemy tried to advance towards Mazanivka and Novodmytrivka, yet failed and withdrew.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy conducted shelling near Hryhorivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Raihorodka, Serebrianka, Tatianivka and Verkhnokamianske to force our units leave the occupied frontiers. There was an airstrike near Ivano-Darivka and Vesele.

By conducting an assault, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to gain a foothold near Vesele.

Towards Bakhmut, shelling was conducted near Bakhmut, Bilohorivka, Maiorsk, Yakovlivka and Zaitseve. The invaders used aircraft to strike Soledar.

The Ukrainian military suppressed all the enemy’s attempts to gain a foothold near Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Kodema, Maiorsk, Soledar and Zaitseve.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy continued striking Avdiivka, Niu York, Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne and Nevelske. The invaders launched an airstrike near Marinka. The enemy has partial success near the settlement of Opytne.

Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, the occupier used tanks and multi-caliber artillery to destroy the settlements of  Charivne, Huliaipole, Kostiantynivka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Novopil, Mala Tokmachka, Olhivske, Orikhiv, Pavlivka, Sontsivka, Vuhledar, Vremivka, and Velyka Novoselka. Airstrikes were launched at Mali Shcherbaky, Shcherbaky and Zaliznychne.

The invaders used UAVs to disclose fire damage positions and adjust the fire. 

The invaders made an unsuccessful attempt to advance towards Shevchenkove.  They are partially successful near Novomykhailivka.

Towards the South Buh, the enemy continues to focus on holding the occupied positions and preventing the Defense Forces from preparing for a counterattack. Using available fire damage means, the invaders are trying to inflict maximum losses on our units along the contact line. Aerial reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles continues.

The occupier launched airstrikes near Bilohirka, Bila Krynytsia, Lozove and Posad-Pokrovske. 

The enemy also tried to gain a foothold near Bilohirka. Our military broke the plans of the occupiers and threw them back to their previous positions.

In the Black and Azov Sea waters, the enemy’s ships continue to perform tasks to support actions of the ground grouping. Two carriers of sea-based cruise missiles are in combat readiness to use high-precision weapons.

The russian occupiers suffer losses, are demoralized and seek out any opportunity to avoid hostilities. They try to simulate a slight wound, resort to self-injuries and various simulations. There is an increase in cases of sabotage of officers’ orders, especially when it comes to offensive actions.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense reports that from Odesa and Chornomorsk ports came 4 more vessels with Ukrainian agricultural products carrying sunflower oil, sunflower meal and corn. This is the eighth caravan with food. “Shipments of grain from Ukrainian ports continue as planned,”the message says.

The NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine reports that the price of gas for Ukrainians during the heating season will not change UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. The corresponding tariff will be valid until May 1 of the next year. 

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says that the presence of russian troops at the Zaporizhzhia NPP poses great risks. He calls for demilitarization of the station and the launch of an IAEA inspection. 

Nova Poshta and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine began to develop sapper robots. This will be the first Ukrainian robot that can demine both in water and on land. It is noted that this will help quickly demine the territories affected by the russian occupation.

Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders push forward near Bazaliivka and Lebiazhe, the fighting is raging.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that all day long the enemy intensively shelled the city and the region.

The enemy shelled the Saltiv district several times. Apartment buildings and critical transport infrastructure were damaged. There were no casualties.

The invaders shelled Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kharkiv districts. At night, russians only intensified strikes. As a result, garages and farm equipment were on fire in the Chuhuiv district.

The Defence Staff reported about over 5 missile strikes from Belhorod. One of the missiles struck the Sloboda district.

Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, says that the invaders shelled the Saltiv district. According to the preliminary information, an apartment building was hit.

Missile strikes damaged residential buildings and several fires broke out in the Zolochiv community. Also the invaders struck a lyceum, damaged a football pitch, destroyed one residential building and damaged two more. 

Based on the information provided by the Emergency Medical Service Centre, a man was hospitalized with blast injuries, his condition is moderate. 

In the Izium district, critical infrastructure was damaged due to the shelling.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers repelled russian invaders’ attempts to gain a foothold towards Bakhmut, but the enemy had a partial success near Opytne. 

russians continue shelling frontline communities from Kurakhove to Toretsk and targeting cities in the relative rear.

In the evening, the invaders shelled Toretsk with artillery. They hit a private house and injured a family of three, including a 6-year-old child.

Towards Donetsk, Avdiivka, Kurakhove and Ocheretyne communities were shelled. In Avdiivka, there were isolated hits in the old town during the night, and in the morning in the downtown and the coke plant. In the Ocheretyne community, Nevelske and Pisky were under fire. In the Kurakhove community, russian occupiers hit an infrastructure object and a house in Kurakhove, where a man was found under the rubble. A rescue operation is ongoing.

Also at night, russians shelled Novodmytrivka. A lyceum and 8 private houses were damaged, there were no casualties.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, said that another filtration point was opened in the occupied city. He notes that there are more than 1,300 Mariupol residents standing in a queue. Cars without documents will be “specially registered” by the invaders to take ownership later.

Luhansk oblast

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informed that on the border of Luhansk oblast, Ukrainian soldiers repelled russian invaders’ attacks in seven directions. Last night, the enemy launched a missile, six artillery and four mortar attacks, attempted to hit our troops’ positions with tanks and used aviation twice.

In Lysychansk, the former Security Service of Ukraine building – now the enemy headquarters, where about 100 russian soldiers were staying – was destroyed. Most of them were the leaders of the 2nd Army Corps and about 20 representatives of the russian FSB.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

Border guards discovered a cache of ammunition next to the former positions of russian troops near Chornobyl. The State Border Guard Service reported that the cache contained fragmentation shells, rounds for the RPG-7V, a rocket engine for the RPG-7V, fuses for an anti-tank mine, an ATGM, and a mine. If the weapons turn out to be usable, they will be handed over to the AFU.

Kyiv psychologists have completed training under the Israel Trauma Coalition program. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the first 15 specialists have already received theoretical and practical knowledge of zoo-therapy, hibuki-therapy, and have also studied the specific features of working with the military, children and the elderly, as well as wounded soldiers’ rehabilitation.

UN Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees Kelly Clements visited the village of Zabuiannia and talked to local residents. A total of 224 objects were damaged in the village as a result of the hostilities, 44 of which were completely destroyed. With the support of the UN, the houses in the village are being rebuilt.

In Kyiv oblast, the removal of rubble and construction debris continues. In the Vyshhorod district, 1,550 tons of debris were removed from 26 damaged private homes. During the last weekend alone, 260 tons of debris were taken from the Velyka Dymerka community.

Weekly free consultations for internally displaced persons will be held in Vcentri HUB in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The Kyiv City State Administration reported that more than 15K internally displaced people are registered in this district of the capital. In Vcentri HUB, they will be able to get more information about their rights and benefits, learn about employment opportunities and receive free legal and psychological assistance.

For the Independence Day of Ukraine, a flower arrangement dedicated to ‘Bayraktar’ was created in Kyiv. The flower composition of 265 sq. m is located in the Obolon district and consists of 24 thousand flowers.

Zhytomyr oblast

Educational institutions in Zhytomyr oblast are being checked to ensure that they are ready for the start of the school year in war conditions. As of today, more than 75 schools and kindergartens are working in Zhytomyr oblast, most of which have their own equipped shelters or have cooperation agreements with other enterprises. In total, more than 5 million UAH has been invested into the shelter arrangement project from the local budget.

Eight humanitarian centers are working in Novohrad-Volynskyi where internally displaced people can receive free help, namely, free food and essentials, as well as psychological counseling. More than 35 tons of humanitarian aid and over 5,000 food parcels have been distributed to IDPs since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

A patriotic initiative has been launched in Zhytomyr to boost the morale of our soldiers. Activists decided to sign and send 40 Ukrainian flags to the frontlines. The flags represent the number of military formations from Zhytomyr oblast that are now defending our country. As part of this initiative, anyone can write words of support and gratitude to the AFU.

Sumy oblast

Russian occupying forces shelled the border communities of Ukraine with barrel artillery, mortars, automatic guns and grenade launchers. According to the SBGS, the communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Shalyhine and Mykolaiv came under enemy fire.

17 explosions were recorded in one of the villages of the Esman community due to barrel artillery shelling. Private houses, a school, a cultural center and a power line were damaged. Information about the victims is being clarified.

The SSU reported that counter-subversive measures are being carried out in Sumy.

Defense structures are being actively built and training is being conducted for leaders of military units in Sumy oblast.

Head of the Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi reports that a strategy for the recovery and development of the region’s economy for the next three years has been developed. The major directions are restoration of critical infrastructure, enhancement of defense capability, and support of local manufacturers.

The Sumy RMA reports that the course on tactical medicine for Ukrainians is gaining momentum. From this week, it will be possible to learn the skills of providing first aid in conditions as close as possible to the combat ones in the Shostka community. The training is conducted by experienced instructors under the leadership of American military medics and  workers of the regional emergency medical aid center.

The construction of a stationary bridge over the Vorskla in the village of Klymentove, the Okhtyrka district, is in progress. As reported in the regional military administration, the bridge is being built next to the one destroyed during hostilities. A new attraction has appeared in Sumy. On the initiative of the Department of Strategic Urban Development, a new patriotic mural appeared in the Kazka Children’s Park.

Chernihiv oblast

As of this morning, there were 20 explosions in Chernihiv oblast. The Chernihiv border detachment reported that russian troops fired at the border guards.

On the outskirts of one of the settlements of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, the russian invaders shelled from barrel artillery. 4 explosions were recorded. The fire broke out from the side of the russian village of Sluchovsk.

The Semenivka community was shelled from a SPH, there were 16 explosions. The fire broke out from the russian settlement of Manev. There are no casualties.

Head of the Chernihiv RMA Viacheslav Chaus met with Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Great Britain in Ukraine Melinda Simmons. They discussed assistance from international partners, as well as the Fast Recovery Plan, which included almost 4,500 priority objects of Chernihiv Oblast.

Restoration of damaged infrastructure is ongoing in the oblast. Repairs of one of the residential high-rise buildings in Chernihiv have begun. Repairs continue in the regional psychoneurological hospital, and windows are being installed in the Chernihiv hospital. Restoration work is also ongoing on one of the power transmission lines, the roadside on the highways M-01 Kyiv – Chernihiv – Novi Yarylovychi and H-27 Chernihiv – Mena – Sosnytsia – Hremyach is being improved.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night, the enemy attacked two districts of Dnipropetrovsk region again.

Nikopol was hit twice with barrel artillery the roof of a household building was destroyed, 6 private houses, some cars, and gas pipelines were damaged. There are no casualties.

Serhii Lobza, the department head of the distribution network operation of Dniprovski Elektromerezhi reported that 650 families of the Chervonohryhorivka community in Dnipropetrovsk oblast remain without power supply after the shelling on August 17. 

The Chervonohrad community was fired from Grads. There were about 40 shots. Power lines were affected, 1 building, and the road was damaged. No one was injured. In the Kryvyi Rih district, the occupiers shelled the border territories of the Shyroke community. People are unharmed, there is no destruction.

During the day, the russian army shelled the Kryvyi Rih district again, causing a fire. They fired from barrel artillery at Velyka Kostromka of the Zelenodolsk community.

The Czech Republic is ready to take over coordination of the reconstruction process in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Yaroslav Kurfürst announced this during his visit to Ukraine. He discussed the readiness of the Czech Republic to continue providing Ukraine with necessary support and assistance, in particular by strengthening international sanctions against the russian federation.

Vinnytsia oblast

40 enterprises have moved to Vinnytsia region from Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kherson, Chernihiv and Sievierodonetsk, 25 of them have resumed work at a new location, another 15 are moving their facilities. More than 570 jobs were created on the basis of these companies. According to Serhii Borzov, Head of the Vinnytsia RMA, 12 enterprises have already returned to their hometowns and resumed operations at their previous locations. Each relocated enterprise brought at least 20% of its employees.

An art therapy session was held in the Vinnytsia rehabilitation center Harmony. It comprised a series of master classes on depicting the coat of arms and the flag of Ukraine, the dog Patron and a bird in blue and yellow colors on T-shirts. According to Liudmila Netskina, head of the Harmony NGO, art therapy helps to distract and relax. Master classes are conducted by artist Elizaveta Mykhailova.

Four residents of the village of Siomaky, the Zhmerynka district, baked almost three tons of cookies for the military. They meet every Wednesday in one of the private houses and work from morning until late evening. Locals help with ingredients and money. Vinnytsia volunteers deliver pastries.

Kirovohrad oblast

Since the beginning of mandatory evacuation, Kirovohrad Oblast has welcomed the largest number of internally displaced persons from Donetsk Oblast more than 200 people. Among them are large families, mothers with babies. Everyone is provided with temporary housing, medical care, and assistance in restoration of personal documents if needed.

Residents of the Novopraska community of the Oleksandria district bought eight walkie-talkies for the Ukrainian military. According to Head of the community Bohdan Kurup, this equipment is small in size and weight, but powerful enough to maintain communication between the military over a long distance. Walkie-talkies were given to compatriots who serve in the 57th and 28th brigades of the Armed Forces. In addition to walkie-talkies, the community raised money to buy binoculars and night vision devices.

Poltava oblast

An indictment was handed over to the Poltava court against a former employee of the SSU department in Donetsk oblast. He is suspected of participating in a terrorist organization. Suspect Vasyl Bovsunovskyi conducted reconnaissance and subversive activities and fired positions of the Anti-Terrorist Operation Forces in Ukraine. Later, he was appointed commander of a military unit in the so-called “DNR”.

Poltava oblast is ready to welcome evacuated residents of Donetsk oblast. Today, Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovych, and Minister of Health, Viktor Liashko, inspected the facilities of the local sanatorium in Myrhorod. The premises need modernization, but with the support of international donors and partners, they hope to provide the necessary living conditions.

Cherkasy oblast

Three Cherkasy People’s Deputies did not vote for consideration of the Appeal to international organizations condemning execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka at the Verkhovna Rada session. They are Cherkasy People’s Deputies from “Servant of the People” (Sluha Narodu) party  Vitalii Voitsechivskyi and Serhii Nagorniak, as well as Serhii Rudyk from the “For the Future” (“Za maibutnie”) party.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The situation towards Zaporizhzhia has not changed significantly.  The enemy concentrates its main efforts on holding the occupied positions.

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Preobrazhenka, Novoandriivka, Orikhiv, and Huliaipole.

There were 18 reports of the destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by Russian occupation forces.

According to the Zaporizhzhia RMA, the situation around the ZNPP is very complicated. The behavior of the russian occupiers is unpredictable. All premises intended for the shelter of the station personnel and management are occupied. Occupiers shoot from the territory of the station, hiding there. The ZNPP security system is disconnected from external control channels.

A crisis headquarters was created at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on the basis of the state enterprise Enerhoatom due to the threat of an emergency.

There was a powerful explosion in the center of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, where one of the command posts of the russian military is located. This was announced by the Mayor of Melitopol, Fedorov.

During their visit to Zaporizhzhia, Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi and Head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko introduced the new head of the National Police of the region, Artem Kyska. He used to be Deputy Head of the Donetsk regional police department.

The Center for Humanitarian Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons has opened in Zaporizhzhia. Its main aim is to provide psychological assistance to persons, especially children and youth, who suffered from the russian aggression in Ukraine. So far, almost 600 internally displaced persons have applied to the center. The center employs 2 psychologists and 4 psychologist-animators.

Enterprises of Zaporizhzhia oblast received almost UAH 3 million in compensation for the employment of internally displaced persons. In total, 500 people have been employed under this program.

During the day, 344 civilians, including 96 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.

Mykolaiv Oblast

During the night, enemy helicopters attacked Ukrainian positions on the contact line three times. No losses are reported. 

Enemy troops again shelled Mykolaiv with S-300 anti-aircraft systems. 6 missiles damaged residential and educational buildings, industrial infrastructure of the city. Information about the victims is being clarified.

According to the South Operational Command, the enemy hit the port infrastructure of Mykolayiv with Smerch MLRSs. No casualties are reported.

There were explosions in the village of Shyroke. Agricultural buildings were hit. Information on victims and damage is being clarified.

As a result of shelling, agricultural buildings and a public catering facility were destroyed in the villages of Pervomaiske and Shyroke. A 67-year-old woman was killed and a 38-year-old man was injured in Bereznehuvate.

153 out of 448 institutions in Mykolaiv oblast are ready to start the academic year in offline format – this is 30% of the total number. They have shelter equipment in case of an air raid or shelling. However, the final decision on the form of training will be made by students’ parents.

The Mykolaiv running community organized a charity online race “Hero Cities Run” in support of Ukrainian cities and residents affected by the war in Ukraine. Anyone can join the event, being in any corner of the world. Participants of the online race can donate any sum. As of August 17, UAH 9,599 has been collected. First of all, the money will go to an operation for a military serviceman from Mykolaiv, Anatolii Kiniev.

Odesa Oblast

Odesa was attacked by Tu-22M3 strategic aviation aircraft with Kh-22 missiles. Destruction and fires broke out in one of the recreation centers and several private buildings nearby as a result of a 2-missile hit. 4 civilians were injured. The fire on a total area of more than 600 square meters was extinguished.

A storm is raging in the Black Sea, enemy ships continue to hide behind Cape Tarkhankut in the direction of Novorossiysk along the Crimean coast. 2 surface missile carriers with 16 Kalibr missiles are ready to launch an attack.

Fighters of the 28th separate mechanized brigade shot down one attack and one reconnaissance drone with small arms.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will visit Odesa on August 19. He will visit the Odesa port, from where grain is exported as part of the Istanbul agreement.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is about to open in Odesa due to the large number of displaced persons. As of August 16, more than 34K displaced persons were registered in the city.

Employees of the recruitment center were exposed in Odesa. They illigally transported men abroad, providing fake conclusions of the medical commission about their unfitness for service. In this way, at least 50 people left the country.

Kherson Oblast

Ukrainian aviation attacked another enemy stronghold and 4 buildups of manpower, weapons and equipment near Pravdyne, Arhanhelske, Olhyne, Bilohirka, Novopetrivka.

Rocket and artillery units eliminated 15 occupiers, 1 anti-tank missile system, and 6 units of automobile and armored vehicles as part of firing missions.

Western regions

Volyn oblast

At a meeting of the executive committee of the Lutsk City Council, the procedure for providing food to forcibly displaced persons was approved: the local community will continue to feed IDPs free of charge and with benefits.

In the RMA, a meeting was held with the head of programs for the development of local self-government and decentralization of power of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Marat Kiurchevskyi, and the team of the USAID “HOVERLA” project. The meeting discussed issues of material and advisory support.

UAH 100K will be paid to the families of the fallen soldiers in the Lutsk community. The relevant decision was made by the executive committee of the Lutsk city community.

The Medical Association of the Lutsk City Territorial Community reported that the medical facility received medicines and medical products from Poland.

A unit of the Armed Forces purchased a Lexus SUV in Volyn. In the near future, the car will be sent to the front line.

Thanks to the financial support of ChildFund Deutschland – a children’s fund from Germany and Terre des Hommes from Switzerland – the Lutsk Clinical Maternity Hospital received a new medical area for the laboratory, delivery rooms and an operating room. The cost of assistance is over UAH 2 million.

Volyn met ultramarathon-rescuers who plan to set a national record and raise funds for equipment for colleagues. The 800-kilometer ultramarathon started in Kyiv on August 11, 2022, and will end in Warsaw on August 24.

Lutsk has arranged a hub for immigrants from Luhansk oblast. Here they can receive humanitarian aid and consult on urgent issues.

Director and animator Leonid Tyvoniuk reports that the Lutsk animation studio Imago creates cartoons to distract Ukrainian children from disturbing thoughts during the war. Currently, they are working on a new work called Mother’s Mission Child Protection.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that Slovak partners plan to strengthen support for forced migrants with special needs in Zakarpattia oblast.

A meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Zakharin, heads of education departments and representatives of territorial communities took place in the RMA. The meeting discussed issues of organizing a safe educational process.

According to the information of the Department of Emergency Situations in Zakarpattia oblast, 1 205 (or 96.1%) dual-purpose buildings and the simplest shelters have been inspected so far. 323 objects need to be arranged to be usable.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A meeting with representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) was held in the RMA. They discussed the organization of work in centers for the accommodation of displaced persons and provision of IDPs with basic necessities.

Deputy head of the regional state administration Bohdan Futerko met with mayor of Tlumac city council Igor Petruk. They discussed the issue of relocation of enterprises to the territory of the community, as well as the condition and readiness of the shelters of educational institutions before the beginning of the academic year.

Lviv oblast

The LCCE Lvivvodokanal signed official intentions to cooperate with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The health care department of Lviv oblast reported that 14 patients from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts arrived in Lviv by evacuation train for treatment. Among them is 1 child.

The Sozan psycho-neurological boarding school and the Pidbuzky geriatric boarding house of Lviv oblast received charitable assistance from the USA – 75 hospital beds, stilts and crutches.

570 places will be created in Lviv oblast for the residence of forcibly displaced people, in particular for employees of enterprises who moved to Lviv oblast from the regions of active hostilities. UAH 54.4 million was additionally allocated to the Program to implement Infrastructure Projects in Lviv oblast from the regional budget, of which UAH 13.6 million was aid from the Republic of Poland.

In Stryi, the volunteers of Building Ukraine Together – BUT made about 100 wooden beds for IDPs.

The winners of the regional journalistic contest named after the Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviiv were awarded in the Lviv RMA. The winner of the contest, Ksenia Klym, decided to donate her prize of UAH 50K to the 125th brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces to buy a thermal imager.

The Chervonograd RMA reported that during the charity concert of Viktor Vinnyk in Sokal, local residents collected UAH 50K for the needs of the military.

Young residents of the village of Prylbychi, the Novoiavorivsk community, arranged a charity event in support of Ukrainian defenders. In one day, the young volunteers collected UAH 13K.

Rivne oblast

A meeting with the team of the USAID HOVERLA project, which is in the oblast on a monitoring visit, took place in the RMA.

Representatives of the Rivne RMA and the French non-governmental organization ACTED discussed future cooperation and the terms of signing the Memorandum on providing immediate aid and humanitarian support to IDPs.

Rivne became a participant of the European Energy Award (quality management system and certifications for municipalities and regions).

By 2032, the SE Energoatom NAEC intends to build and put into operation the fifth power unit of the Rivne NPP using the AR1000 technology of the American company Westinghouse.

On the initiative of the Varaska district prosecutor’s office, Ukrainian soldiers were given timber materials seized during the pre-trial investigation of crimes related to illegal logging in the territory of the Varaska district. Over 350 m³ of spruce, pine, alder and birch has recently been transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces.

The RMA reported that parents’ committees will be involved in creating safe conditions in educational institutions.

Ternopil oblast

The Ternopil RMA met with representatives of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine. They discussed creation of a communication platform for all humanitarian partners and arrangement of proper living conditions for IDPs.

A meeting with representatives of the Sievierodonetsk city military-civilian administration took place in the Ternopil RMA. They discussed the possibility of creating a humanitarian hub for IDPs from Luhansk oblast in Ternopil oblast.

In four days, volunteer doctors from the Ternopil Dental Polyclinic provided free dental care to 79 Ternopil soldiers at the front thanks to mobile dentistry.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, there was a charity bike ride held by the Department of State Emergency Services of the oblast. About 100 participants took part in the bicycle marathon – rescuers, National Police, Patrol Police, border guards, court security and everyone else. UAH 70 550 collected from the bicycle marathon was donated to the Protect Khmelnytskyi charity foundation for the needs of the Armed Forces.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the NGO IT Cluster Chernivtsi IT community as part of the business week. At the meeting, participation of representatives of the region’s IT sphere in the development of the oblast was discussed.

Head of the Chernivtsi RMA Ruslan Zaparaniuk discussed the process of refurbishing premises for IDPs at a working meeting with heads of communities of the oblast.

The Department of Education and Science of Chernivtsi oblast reported that preparations for the new school year are underway in Bukovyna. In educational institutions of the oblast, 847 objects were inspected, which is 98.3% of the total number. According to experts’ conclusions, 670 shelters are either ready for operation or in a state of improvement.

 

International support

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov announced that the Kingdom of Norway will provide more military aid for Ukraine’s needs.

The British Ministry of Defense received Chinese “Type 56-1” assault rifles for training Ukrainian soldiers. “Type 56-1” is a copy of the Soviet AKS-47 machine gun with a complex butt.

Ukravtodor reported that the Czech Republic sent 4 metal temporary bridges to improve transport connections in Ukraine’s regions.

The US will allocate $68 million to the World Food Program for the purchase of Ukrainian grain.
