 On Ukraine’s Independence Day, the United States announced an additional $ 2.98 billion military assistance package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

✅ British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Kyiv on Ukraine’s Independence Day and announced allocation of a new £ 54 million military aid package to Ukraine.

✅ Forbes informs that Ukraine destroyed russian military equipment worth of $16.6 billion within six months of a full-scale war.

✅   Leaders of many EU countries — presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers — posted congratulations for Ukraine on the 31st anniversary of independence on their social networks, expressing support against the backdrop of the ongoing war. Among them are Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Swedish Foreign Minister Anne Linde, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.

✅ On Wednesday, August 24, Ukrainian presenter and volunteer Serhii Prytula announced on Facebook that the Turkish company Baykar has applied patterns resembling Ukrainian embroidery to the “people’s”  Bayraktar UAVs, which will be transferred to Ukraine for free. 

✅ The Scottish Guard Orchestra congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day and performed the song “Stefania” by Kalush Orchestra.

✅ The European Union believes that Ukraine is making rapid progress in reforming the judiciary and fighting corruption, says EU Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas. In particular, the Ambassador noted the appointment of the Head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, members of the High Council of Justice Maselko and Moroz, as well as readiness to launch the process of selecting a new head of the NABU.

✅ Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov believes that Ukraine has already crossed the line when one could expect the “worst-case scenario” of development of the war with Russia.
